Do yourself a favor and take this professor once in your college career. She is an amazing teacher that you can tell loves her job and conversing with students. Classes are challenging but well worth it.
This class may not have been the easiest but it was well worth it. She is a great teacher who brightens up your day. What a pleasant change of pace for professors!
This course was definitely interesting! Dr. Sutter is an excellent professor that seems to love to teach and help the students out. However, the course is not that easy. If you put the work into it, you will be fine.
awesome teacher. dont get behind tho b/c a lot of material on tests. study and you will do fine. she is ALWAYS there to help.
She is the best teacher that i have ever had in my life. She will explain everything to you until you understand. The subject itself isn't the easiest but it is very interesting. I would reccomend this course and professor to anyone who has the chance.
Dr. Sutter is an awesome professor. You can easily tell that she loves what she does and cares alot about her students. Some difficult material, but she's always there to help. Take this class, or any class she teaches. You won't regret it.
She really knows her material and how to make a test. Be sure to take good notes and go to class. She's available to help out whenever you need it. She's fast to respond to emails and is willing to spend time to help you understand the material.
by far the best teacher i have ever had at loyola, although the class is kind of hard, she will do whatever it takes to make sure you learn it.
Math is like the GrimReaper for me. But her stats class was actually enjoyable. She made the material very easy to understand. Definitely recommended for stats class and other classes as well.
This class is the hardest class I have taken in my three years at Loyola. However, Dr.Sutter is the most approachable, kind woman I have ever met. She does anything and everything she can to help her students. Take if you have a good Biology background
The class overall is no picnic. She, however, is just the sweetest! She is always willing to help you out in every way, which made the course much enjoyable. I definitely recommend taking her class because it's well worth it!
Dr. Sutter is WONDERFUL! EXTREMELY helpful and understanding. VERY bright and nice. I hate all math and she made this class so easy and interesting despite having difficult subject matter. Amusing wit used in lectures too. She's GREAT!
Prof. Sutter is by and large the best teacher I have had yet at Loyola. You HAVE to go to class and take good notes...as well as study. But, she explains everything in detail and is always, always, willing to help you. Take this class!!
Very important to attend class and take notes. Also need to print stuff off the class web page. She is very nice and helpful.
THIS CLASS IS HARD. Not for the faint of heart. Class is more like biology than psychology; focus on neurons & the brain, not the person. She's helpful and sincere, but the tests are ****es.
Anne Sutter is a very good professor. Her class is hard but can be done. You have to go to class, take good notes, and study hard. She will help you anyway she can. Made this class interesting. I learned so much. Loved her! A+++
Very good professor, personable, and really cares about her students. She's very helpful during office hours. The key thing is ATTEND CLASS AND TAKE GOOD NOTES.(a lot of note taking)Her exams r kind of a pain, but their based mostly on notes.
Sutter is awesome, she is totally helpful and never turns anyone away who needs help. If you dont like math she will work with you so you can understand the concepts. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!
Anne Sutter is my hero. Her class is the toughest I've taken, and yet I've enjoyed it the best of all my classes. The subject itself is interesting, and she manages to convey knowledge clearly and humorously, and is ALWAYS avaiable for help. I don't give away ratings, but she deserves it.
She is a wonderful teacher. Phyc 304 is a HARD class (alot of work). But she is VERY helpful. Take her.
this is an interesting class, she makes it difficult. Never go to see her the day of the test for help she's extra mean! Overall very enthusastic and willing to help just unnecessarily complicates material and grades test essays subjectivly so go to see her. Good class though, very interesting
Fun teacher. Explains well. Must takes notes. Not a gimme class. Must study lots to do well. Attractive older woman.
She is an amazing teacher. She is VERY HELPFUL, but her tests are very hard. You really have to spend alot of time to study for the exams.
She is a great teacher!! One of the best at Loyola. Her class is hard but she is always there to help making it a bit easier. If you study and do practice problems you will do fine!
She is a wonderful person but damn this class was hard! Unless you have no other hard classes or nothing better to do then take this class. Always helpful and available for help. You must go to class. Book is useless, don't waste your money!
Anne is great! She is super organized! The material is hard, even for an experienced biology major. But she knows her stuff and is always willing to help out! Such a good mentor!! oh yeah, and she is a good looking lady with great style
Class is hard, but Dr. Sutter is very nice and helpful.
Material is difficult, but the instructor is always willing to answer your questions inside and outside the class.
Dr Sutter is GREAT. Her class is a welcome challenge in the Psychology department. I would definetly take her.
dr. sutter is perfect! her lectures are interesting, well-organized, and entertaining too! her exams are very hard and require genuine understanding -- NOT JUST MEMORIZING!! she's tough but if you need help, dr. sutter is always there. I LOVE HER! take this class, just realize it will not be an easy A.
Dr. Sutter is amazing! Anyone who can teach such a dry subject and keep the class fun is a hero in my book. She is someone who you just want to hang out with!
This lady is a complete authoritarian. Do not think critically! Do not question the system! For a psychologist she could use a little work on empathy and understanding. Oh, and the book for this class is useless.
Class is not easy but she can teach, and is very nice funny and helpful, only a lot of homework
I LOVE her. Yeah the class material is hard but she tries to present it in a way in which you will understand it. Take the tests seriously or else you will get a big fat F. She curves the class and the lowest of your test scores counts less then the rest of the tests taken... take this class you will learn a lot! Plus she is one funny lady.
She is the best teacher at Loyola. I barely have a 3.0 gpa and I got an A in the class. I learned more in this class than all my classes at Loyola combined. The class is challenging but if you can't learn from this brilliant woman, you don't deserve to be in college. If you don't take this class, I feel genuinely sorry for you.
She's so damn mean...she acts like she's some big hot shot. She just hung up on me when i called to ask about class. Chill Sutter!
Ms. Sutter is awsome and down to earth!!! She understands that its difficult, so she goes out of her way to help you. Go to class everyday!!! take good notes, do the assignments (not that difficult), and 4 tests. Stats is hard but i recommend you take it with her, you actually learn. Plus shes funny!
Most interesting class ever! The class uses real life application of the material to help you learn. This is what a college course is supposed to be like. Very hard, but it should be. I challenge you to take this class and really learn something! No one can teach it better.
For an A, be prepared to record her lectures, go to officer hours every week, and put the class at the top of your life's priorities. Very friendly professor, but VERY difficult. Person below with a 3.0 cum. and an A in this class either got very lucky or never turns their brain on in other classes. Attend every lecture for a CHANCE at doing well!
Amazing teacher. Dr. Sutter is very smart (probably the smartest professor in Loyola). Her explainations are very clear and her examples really help you understand the subject at hand. The class is hard but very interesting, SO get ready to work Hard! An A is possible as long as you put the time into it. COME TO CLASS.
Take her!!! She takes a REALLY hard topic and makes it easy to understand. I just took the class only cuz I couldn't fit anything else in my schedule and I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! - She is VERY clear and interesting, but I would suggest bringing a tape recorder. It really helps to hear her explain it again... AWESOME TEACHER!
Professor is very nice, but class is SUPER HARD!! I recorded all class lectures, spent hours studying for exams and have gotten D's and C's on all exams! With the curve, I hope to get a C+, praying for at least a B- at the end of the semester. If you don't need the class I recommend not taking it as an elective.
Very nice teacher. Will help you out during office hours. Her tests are just really really hard
This lady is awesome. She's not easy though, but you'll learn a lot. Go to class, take notes, go to her office hours (even though there's always a line), study your butt off for her test, do the homework, and you might get an A.
Dr. sutter is a very nice person and is helpful for the most part. BUT, the class is very hard and attendance is necessary. Study for every test and know the concepts (most important), if you have the concepts down, you cannot get anything less than a B.
This is a really tough class. The concepts are difficult but she really tries to make it understandable and enjoyable. Grades are based on homework and 4 tests (which are very difficult). Everyone is always at her office getting help. I never went once and am getting a B+, but that is nto normal.
Fantastic professor! Interesting and very caring, one who doesn't lower her expectations of students so that the masses can do well. Doing well depends on how well you extrapolate information, in addition to memorizing.
She will help you with homework, if you go in really early in the morning. The homework does not help you with the tests. Does not offer any extra credit. She does not answer emails. She sometimes seems to get annoyed when someone asks a question.
Awesome professor! If you go to her office hours, she'll check your homework so you can theoretically get 100% on your homework. She's also really helpful if you ask her questions about other psych stuff, like grad school, etc.
This class is hard. Sutter was extremely helpful as long as you go to her office hours! GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS! She will do all she can to help you! She knows its hard but its a required class. Homework is mandatory but it will help you understand the material. Tests are very hard! I stress: Know the concepts! And the math!
This class is SUPER hard. Be prepared to work your ass off. I went to every class, typed every word that came out of her mouth & even went to office hours and got a B. I was never more happier to get a B in a class before. The material is really interesting & she does demonstrations for you to understand the material better. Take it but work hard.
She is an awesome professor! Her tests are really hard but she is more than willing to help you study - very approachable and helpful. If you really work you can get an A. 5 tests total and the lowest grade is weighted less than the other 4
Dr. Sutter is very helpful outside of class which is nice, but this is class is very difficult. If you don't need to take this class, don't take it. It can be a struggle to get a B, even if you are an A-student.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! Be prepared to work hard for your grade. It is not an easy class, but Dr. Sutter is more than approachable, very helpful and super understanding. Go to her office hours, ask questions in class! Her exams are part multiple choice, part essay. Be VERY specific in your essay answers. It is a scientific class, after-all.
Took her for psych stats-the class is soo hard (get it out of the way asap, psych majors), but she makes it understandable. She's really funny and jokes around a lot. If you don't understand something go to her office hours, she practically tells you the answers to things (but in a way you learn from)!
I don't know why everyone thinks this class is so hard. She's a great lecturer and gives you all the information you need to know to ace the tests. You just have to memorize your lecture notes and make sure you really "get" the concepts and you'll be fine. She doesn't try to trick you on the exams at all. Really fun to talk to outside of class too.
Professor Sutter is the best instructor I've had at Loyola so far. Statistics can be challenging, but she presents the material clearly and extensively. She has great office hours and will check your homework before it's due. 4 tests including the final, 11 homework assignments. She is extremely friendly and intelligent. Take her class!
Great teacher, probably the only good stats teacher...she teaches other classes too though. She lets you come to her before class and she checks your homework giving you a 100% just for trying and going to her. Good curve, exams are based off the practice problems. I completely recommend her if you want a good grade.
GREAT teacher. 5 tests. If you go to her office hours to check your homework before class she gives you 100%. She doesn't curve. Tests are not just problems, very conceptual as well. Tests are multiple choice, short answer, and actual math problems. She gives excellent notes. You MUST go to class or you will be lost. Do practice problems for test
Difficult teacher but you WILL learn statistics very well. Crystal clear, fair. Hardly used textbook. Take good notes and attend class. One of my favorite teachers at Loyola!
Awesome professor to have for a difficult subject. It is not impossible to do well in this class because she knows the topic well and can teach well in class and in her office. GET A NOTE RECORDER...either buy one or use one on your computer (MAC has an app). It will help a lot.
5 tests multi choice/short answer with the lowest score weighted less. Make sure you will have time to study. Difficult class but one of the best professors at Loyola. Nice, knowledgeable, clear, available outside of class, enthusiastic. If you are interested in bio/neuro/psyc take this class.
It's work but her teaching style is superb and the class really is a lot of fun. Her exams ensure you have a thorough understanding of the material and are tough in that way, but are absolutely fair with no surprises. Just be able to explain things to another person. Don't leave Loyola w/o taking this...it's a hidden gem & she's a wonderful person!
She is quirky, but overall an excellent professor. Gives you the opportunity to go check homework before with her so you can fix any errors and get 100%. GO TO CLASS!! If you do she goes through everything step by step with you and the notes are super useful. I do not like statistics but I did well and give her highest marks! Take her
One of the greatest professors at Loyola! Her tests are difficult but GO TO CLASS, MEET WITH HER, and you'll make things much easier for yourself. She is very nice, understanding, and will go out of her way to help her students. Take a class with her if you can!
Best professor I ever had!
A very sweet woman, but her tests are crazy hard. Studied my brains out and still couldn't understand them. She is very helpful though. If you go to her office hours you get 100s on the homework which really help your grade. She's a wonderful person, but I couldn't survive her class again.
Dr. Sutter is a great professor who is really interested in her subject and wants to make sure you become interested too. Easily approachable and willing to help. Her exams are hard and class averages were typically low, but she curves the grading scale significantly.
Best professor I've ever had the pleasure of learning from! She is brilliant &respected. She concisely parcels out information regarding very difficult concepts w/ease,& when someone finds her explanations insufficient, she comes @it from a fresh perspective. She really wants to help you succeed.Really funny,&uses fun& engaging tools to help you learn.
She is so quirky and such an oddball. I absolutely love her. She's very personal and wants to ensure everyone succeeds no matter the cost. So devoted to her students and their success. Tests are very straight forward, and for homework, if you just follow your notes, you'll get 100 on each one. Stats isn't boring with her.
Not trying to be rude, but she's pretty bad. I got a C- in her class, and barely passed. She rushes through material, and her tests are impossible. Overall ridiculous standards, has an ego and wants to show everyone how smart she is by making her tests impossible to pass.
She wasn't very good. I got a B, but had to work my butt off. She literally explains nothing, too eager to rush through material, rather than teach anyone anything. She wouldn't even put all her slides online. Although she does curve, I literally would throw up before taking her exams I was so nervous. I would never put myself through that again.
Um I have no idea why she has this rating. Anne deserves like a one. She is a horrible teacher, and her exams are super hard. Would definitely not recommend.
Anne Sutter is probably THE WORST math teacher I have ever had. While she is obviously very smart, her lectures do not translate to the student. She also gets very mad and snarky when a student does not understand something, and she has to explain it more than one. Her tests are also amazingly hard. For your own sanity DO NOT take her.
Sutter is a great teacher. She's a bit cooky and silly, but she is always on top of things. She teaches really well and is always very clear. She is also very good with office hours. They help a lot. However, her tests killed me. They are pretty difficult and the multiple choice are worth a ton of points. Great teacher, but grades too hard.
I had Dr. Sutter a couple years ago for Psychology of Perception. I am a second year medical student now in a Brain and Behavior class and I came back to rate her because I so so wish she could be teaching my classes again. She is an awesome person and a great professor, even if I didn't do all that well-she's tough. Wish you'd go teach at KU Med!
LOVE!! she is so personable and so easy to understand. Psych Statistics is a tough class especially when you haven't taken a math course in awhile but her lectures are great and clearly explains everything. She is constantly making sure no one has any questions about something. Has office hours almost 3 times a week and its great help. TAKE HER!!
Amazing professor. Gives clear lectures, but attendance is a must because she purposefully leaves out slides from the ones she posts online. 5 tests, lowest scoring one is only counted for 10% of grade. Don't bother with the textbook, just come to class and pay attention and you'll pass easily. Sweet and approachable, very caring professor.
I'm not a math person at all but I really enjoyed psych stats with Sutter. She's easily the most available professor I've had at Loyola (office hours 3x per week where she'll correct your homework for you) and her lectures are very clear. The other reviewers are right when they say she's a little kooky, but she's very sweet. Highly recommend her.
I absolutely LOVE Anne Sutter. Her lectures are interesting and clear, and she is available for office hours almost every day. Lets you check in homework early with her to guarantee you'll get 100% on every assignment. The multiple choice parts of her tests are tough, but the tests overall weren't too bad because she's just so helpful.
If youre looking for an easy psych stats class this is not the class to take. She will make you work hard, its very easy to loose points on exams, and she is very very specific about answers. Shes a great person, funny, helpful, go to office hours, easy points on HW. But its all concept based and Psych stats does not need to be this intense at all
Dr. Sutter is my favorite professor at Loyola. She's hilarious and her lectures are very easy to follow. Her exams are pretty challenging though, and you need to go to class if you want to do well. She expects a lot from her students. You'll learn so much from this class if you put in the time.
Take Anne. She clearly explains everything and will drop everything to meet with you outside of class. You have a small homework assignment for each chapter but can have her check it before class to get all the points. Don't buy the book you don't need it. I had heard horror stories about this class with other profs and am thankful I had Anne.
Needed a group A psyc course and this one didn't seem that bad. The material is really interesting but the exams are extremely difficult (it might be because she teaches the honors program). 5 exams and that is it.
My second class taken from Anne and she is amazing! Her lectures are never dull, however this class is pretty tough. Record her lectures and make sure you understand and can explain the concepts and you should be fine. She also curves the grading scale to how well the class does.
She is a wonderful woman who cares about all of her students as people. She will do everything she can to help you, her lectures are very clear and logical. You need to show up, she writes everything on a chalkboard. The book isn't needed. She is very accessible and works to know you personally. She will check your homework for full credit, too.
Wonderful lady! Lectures are clear and note taking is easy in this class. Go to office hours, she will check your homework and give you 100% on it right then and there. Tests are difficult because of the difficult material, but it's very easy to pass.
so sweet and caring. she wants you to succeed!!
Sutter really went above and beyond for me to help me pass stats (as I'm terrible at math). She expects effort and really makes you work for it but is incredibly caring and passionate about what she teaches. Go to her office hours to check your homework to try to keep your homework grade up and attend class so you know what's going on.
Dr. Sutter was first psych professor who made psych interesting & understanding the concepts through real life examples rather then just reading off of lecture slides. She definitely is on slightly tough side & exams are applying knowledge then just info recall but she prepares you well and also if you're a bio/biochem major you'll be just fine.
Broooo I took her class last year and this lady is crazy, NO JOKE. She was mad as hell when ppl took the time to actually ask her a question. She had a vendetta against me because I told her I was confused. She has favorites, and favorites them all the time. She's crazy no joke, and I got a B-. NAH
There are 5 exams including the final which is non-cummulative. She is a very very tough professor! Although she gives great lectures and that is what the exams are based off of but her exams are damn near impossible to ace. 40% exam is written while the other 60% is multiple choice. You'll definitely learn but prepare to work hard.
Stats is a hard class, but this queen makes it so much easier to understand! She really cares about her students and their success. Her tests are a little more difficult, but if you study and pay attention you'll totally be fine (btw I've failed a math class). She lets you check your homework so each time you get 100% on it! Go to office hours!
This class is quite fascinating, I never felt bored! Fair warning, this class is very tough! The class is curved which definitely helps. Professor Sutter is honestly amazing! She's knowledgable and passionate about the subject and she cares about her students. Your grade in this class solely depends on 5 noncumulative exams! Record her lectures!
Professor Sutter is one of the most down to earth professors Ive ever met. She truly cares for her students, and will do whatever it takes to help you understand the material; however, her exams are difficult. She makes the exams difficult and later curves them which makes no sense instead of just making the exams easier with no curve.
Sutter is an incredible professor. She is super passionate and knowledgeable about perception, and is willing to do her best to help other people learn. Super accessible. However, tests are very hard (5 tests make up your entire semester grade). She does curve grades, but make sure you study if you want to get an A. Never bored in her class.
Anne is really sweet and caring, definitely available outside of class. Would recommend for math she's very easily understandable and great notes. However, her tests are pretty difficult but if you work for it you can definitely get an A
Dr. Sutter is an amazing professor, and her class is the most interesting psych class you will ever take at Loyola. The exams are tough, but it is definitely possible to pass and get an A with her curve. She is very accessible outside of class as well. 5 exams during the semester and no final.
Non-mandatory attendance but ATTEND if you want to pass. Hardest class I have ever taken as a psych major, very bio/neuroscience based so if thats not your strong suit do NOT take it. 5 exams make up your whole grade. Material isnt that interesting but she is GREAT!
Anne is one of the best professors I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and gives great notes! The only thing about her exams is that the conceptual part can be very difficult, but if you study her notes and do the practice problems she gives before exams, you'll do great! Moderate amount of homework. GO TO OFFICE HOURS!
Dr. Sutter is an amazing professor but if you are a psych student you should NOT take this class. This class is way more neuro and bio based and should not even be offered as a Group A for psych majors. Grade is based on 5 exams and thats it, super hard exams even if you go into her office hours. She is a great prof but this class is impossible
She is a very personable professor but not very willing to help outside of class. Prof Sutter's teaching is extremely sporadic and all over the place. (very hard to follow). Her tests are VERY VERY tricky and hard and total to make up 85% of the grade with homework totaling 15% of the grade. Do not take her if you do not want to teach yourself
I love Anne Sutter! She is so funny and kept me engaged during lectures! I love how she writes all her notes on the whiteboard. She also gives out a few handouts during class, so it's important to attend lectures to do well in her class. Her exams are also a bit tricky, so definitely study and do her practice problems. Take her if at all possible!
Professor Sutter is one of my favorite professors at Loyola. Her psyc 240 course is a challenging one but it is still possible to get an A with her curve. The driving factors behind your success in her course will be always attending lecture, takes notes during class, and recording her lectures and then relistening to them. She has a heart of gold.
Dr. Sutter is honestly one of the most caring and passionate professors I have had the pleasure learning from. She's silly and fun which makes her lectures easier to understand and remember, which comes in handy for her exams. Although she does make you work for it, her teaching style will certainly help you grow your knowledge.
Dr. Sutter is a GREAT choice for PYSC304 especially if statistics isn't your strongest suit! Anne explains all of the concepts clearly and thoroughly. She's consistently reachable outside of class, and even holds extra office hours on test days/days homework is due. It's clear that she cares a great deal about her students and wants them to succeed
This woman is an absolute GEM! She brings a wonderful attitude to class, and tries to make it as digestible as possible. Anne is very approachable and will take the time to answer your questions without being condescending. Also she makes class fun! 11/10 would recommend
Professor Sutter really knows how to lecture for stats. She made me understand the content fairly quickly and the homework validated that. However, I found her exams to be very difficult. I went to office hours often to go over content and exams, but I still barely passed. I studied very hard in this class, and it sucked not getting a better grade.
Dr. Sutter is a great lady, she really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Her tests are difficult, and she is sometimes unclear in her explanations. Only recommend if you have a really good background in statistics. Four non-cumulative tests and weekly homework that can be checked off in office hours. She's the nicest person!
I really liked Dr. Sutter. She is very caring and easy to understand in her lectures. She is also very easy to access outside of class. I learned a lot from this class.
This class is probably one of the hardest I've ever taken and it should not have been. You have to work extremely hard in this class to get a good grade, and the tests always tripped you up. Understanding the way Prof. Sutter taught was hard. If you are math oriented it would be easier, but if you're like me and aren't, don't take it.
She is a very sweet person! You are graded only on her exams, which are no joke. She curves pretty heavily to compensate for that, but be prepared to study or you won't do well. She's very helpful in office hours and you can tell she cares about her students, but this is not an easy A class. So if you're up for it, take her!
Psych majors-beware. this class is all biology focused and better suited for bio or neuroscience majors. the exams are extremely tough and it is nearly impossible to get an A on them. Dr. Sutter is great professor, I just think this class should not be called a psychology class. it is also much harder than any other psych class I have ever taken.
Dr. Sutter is the best professor I have ever had. She is extremely accessible outside of class. Additionally, all her lectures are extremely comprehensive and go over everything you need to know for the exam. She gives 100% on hw if you go to her office hours and go over it with her. To get an A you need to pay attention and take good notes.
Professor Sutter is very sweet, caring and shes accessible outside of class and will give you 100% on your homework if you go to her office hours. Her psyc304 course is understandable during lectures, BUT her lectures and homework are nothing like her tests and it is nearly impossible to pass them. This should not be a psyc class, its just stats!
Sutter the nicest professor, but theres no way you could get a good grade in the test. One time she got mad at my class period because we all did bad on the test. The homework is easy. Overall, the test are the things that are horrible, questions are unclear, nothing what you learned. also, creates very well powerpoints!
