TOTAL CHAOS! Valle has no organized lesson plan, does not come to class prepared to teach, and does not know the material very well. Her lecture consists solely of her reading off a powerpoint slide. She is constantly confused and appologizing for making mistakes. Students leave her class MORE confused than when they walked in! Total SCATTERBRAIN!
I would have to agree, Professor Valle is not the greatest professor when it comes to lecturing on the subject, but when it comes to people, she is the nicest and most understanding professor I have met. She understands Anatomy 1 is a difficult subject, so she will make the class as easy as possible to pass.
Doctor Valle is a good teacher. Yes, she's unorganized at times but you she's very fair. You want to take her because she gives you a lot of CR and HWs points are very EZ to get. Read the book and do practice problems for each chapters!! Every anatomy class is hard, but I have seen my other friends' class, Dr. Valle is way easier!!!
A terrific anatomy professor. The subject is challenging, but she does her best to help you understand it. Extra credit available, and she is very fair on tests, adding points if people miss the same questions, or if a question is confusing. She also offers study sessions the night before exams, which is awesome. The best of the bunch at ECC!
FALL'08. Pro:EC-one must keep track, tries to help Con:has a lisp-difficult to understand, disorganized, doesn?t know her own material-requires us to memorize unnecessary minutia for cat and human, unenthusiastic&primarily reads during lecture from PPT-BORING, got D(I'm all A 1 B student). Take Dr. Aasi @ CCC. I did over summer'09 and got an A.
Terrible teacher but a nice person. Very disorganized and has the tendency to screw up terminology during lecture. She is very lenient with her students and towards the end, she will make the test easier. She gives a lot of opportunity to earn extra credit. Her class is an easy A but to really learn anatomy you would need to teach it to yoursel
very overwhelming and almost impossible to pass both exams in one day
Dr. Valle teaches a very demanding subject. She does it in the best way she can. her lecture exams are rough and the praticums will kill you if you don't study. She does offer a lot of extra credit and is always willing to help you out. You have to show up for the lectures or you will be lost. Buy the book it is totally worth it.
not an easy A class but not because of the way she teaches, its just a lot to learn. lectures a chapter a day and puts powerpoints up online to print for note taking. tests are from the lectures. gives you plenty of time to study for the practicals during lab, just takes a lot of motivation to study for lecture test and practical on same day
Mrs. Valle is a very sweet professor. She wants her students to do well. She offers a lot of extra credit, and she tells you exactly what to study. She is a little disorganized at times, but for the most part she's a wonderful teacher.
Dr.Valle is probably the worst professor I've ever had. (I have a BS and am at ECC taking classes for a career change). She is completely scatterbrained, disorganized, and absent-minded. She doesn't do much "teaching". Her lectures are 100% slides derived from pictures in the text. Be prepared to teach yourself A LOT if you want to pass this class.
Prof. Valle lectures purely from powerpoints and will does not do much to relay the information to her students. She is incredibly disorganized and WILL lose tests and quizzes, so keep track of your own grades and be ready to talk to her about them. She gives lecture exams and lab practicals on the same day which is completely overwhelming.
Worthless. made me want to stab myself. take anyone else if you can. doesnt even know her own material
disorganized. scatterbrained. unclear. clueless. pretty much just all-around awful. i got a B in the class, but it was thanks to study groups and A LOT of self teaching. try to get into another class if you can. it just sucks that classes at ecc are so crowded that you're practically forced to take her
You either have to be that intelligent to pass the class or if it is your only class of the semester. It is hard! Too much studying. It's like someone squeezing your head. Take someone else.
Dr. Valle is probably the worst Anatomy teacher you could take. She is very scatter brained, and mispronunces almost everything. She gives no lecture study guides(and no helpful lab ones for that matter). During lec. she always says " you can read that on your own". If you feel like memorizing the book on your own, go for it. TAKE ANYONE ELSE!!
Take different teacher if possible. I passed by the skin of my teeth. Unclear, disorganized, unmotivated, reads from slideshow, she gets confused herself. Don't take especially if you are going into the nursing program. Too much time/energy given to cat dissection. Bottom line, she gets a D-.
"Dr." Valle is a terrible teacher. Even though the majority of anatomy is memorization, she makes it more difficult and overwhelming than necessary. If you read this and take her and get in over your head, drop before the deadline. It's not worth it. If you must take her, begin reading the text ahead of time.
I dont get why people are saying professor valle is bad. To start off, her lectures are clear. If you don't understand something she'll take the time to explain it to you. Her lecture exams consist mostly of the back of the book questions and her Practicals are pretty easy if you study the models enough. I received a B and taking her again for 32
Yes, Dr. Valle's class is hard, but to earn a good grade in this class, you have to put in the effort. I got a B in this class and it was definitely satisfying and worth all of the hard work. This class helped me improve my study habits and made me interested in the human body. It is passable for anybody who tries.. I would definitely recommend her
Dr Valle is a hard teacher but she is a great teacher. She pushes you so you can make sure that you pass her class. There's no slacking off because you pretty much have to spend alot of time in this class. Recommend her if you really want to learn
Shes a great proffesor! AS long as you follow her instructions you'll do great! She tells you what to study and thats what she tests you on. It is an Anatomy class so studying is a must.
Hardest class I have ever taken. The teacher is nice but not a great teahcer, if you dont work and have taken anat 30 you might do fine. She doesn't explain clearly and expects you to know EVERYTHING! Instead of showing the models to sm. groups she will stand in the front of the room and expect you to see, then get angry if you dont know it. AVOID!
Dr. Valle is awesome! Her lectures are fun and captivating. Her tests are challenging but she gives lots of extra credit to redeem yourself if needed. Just make sure to READ and study questions in the book and you'll do fine. I also recommend printing out her power points and bringing them to class for notes. Also USE OPEN LAB! :)
Dr. V is so nice and notices when you're trying. I wouldn't say it's easy, I struggled at first. Studying with a group and going to open labs definitely helped and I saw a huge improvement in my grade. Study the chapter questions in the back, she uses a lot of them on her tests. Don't slack!
BEST teacher for Anatomy! Not so much for Physiology tho. In anatomy she is very helpful and wants you to understand everything. Studying in groups outside of class is a big help! Shes very approachable. For Physiology, she is kind of unorganized and not as nice as in Anatomy lol In anatomy she holds your hand, but for physio just learn everything!
Prof. Valle is one of the best teacher's I've had so far. She's nice, helpful and fair. It's not an easy class, nor is any other Anatomy 32 class but the way she teaches helps a lot. Great teacher and I would definitely recommend her!!
Dr. Valle is a very bad teacher. She is nice overall however she mixes up her classes and doesn't give you the information you need. Her class is about 80% lecture and 20% lab. I wouldn't recommend her. I dropped the class after an impossible exam everyone failed. STAY AWAY!
I just took Dr valle for the Spring I personally liked her class. She is straight forward on what is going to be on the practicals and her exams arent so bad if you read or review the powerpoints just dont slack off. Take advantage of the time you get in class with the models. I managed to earn a B was aiming for an A. In the end i learned a lot.
nice professor, answer your qs if you ask, use 1/3 qs from the book for lecture exams but you still need to study hard to do the rest of them. practical are doable if spend time to study. spend lots of time and be ready for this class. lots to read and memorize but passing is possible. ;) dont be afraid to take her ;)
DONT TAKE HER UNLESS YOURE COMFORTABLE RETEACHING YOURSELF. She has a very rude sarcastic humor and puts you down 247. Lectures are extremely long and 6 exams 6 practicals and 11 quizzes plus homework. Very overwhelming class but people are passing some how, risk taking her if you want.
Valle is not a bad teacher, and the class is not difficult. All you have to do is study. This is a core class, what do you expect? The exams are solely on the PowerPoints, and she tells you exactly what is on the practicals. So getting an A or B is doable. Lots of extra credit to boost your grade.
Dr. Valle is a very nice person. I took her for my Bio10 over the summer, Anat32 and Physio31. I am a pre-med major. Got all As in all the classes I took her with. There is no such thing as an easy class especially in these fields. Classes are hard, yes. But ask her a questions, go to office hours, studystudystudy. and you'll be fine.
Started w/45. 13 @end. Only 10 passed. Really vague, expected us to know what she was thinking. Directions weren't clear. Learned a ton tho. Pretty sure she hated all of us. At least that's what I took from her yelling at everyone. Wiley Plus was the only way I passed. Want an A? Allow about 25 hrs/week study time. No time for other hard classes.
She's knowledgeable and helpful if you ask, but can be mean. If you don't do a hw, she'll tell the entire class. When we do lab, she doesn't care if you're lost. If there's a mistake in the lab procedure, she won't tell the entire class, only those who ask. Talks too much about her personal life too much; it's embarrassing.
Started with 45 students, ended with 15. Feels like you're in Survivor. Depressing. Covers way too much material WAY too quickly. When you ask a question/don't remember something she makes you feel dumb. Super high expectations. Rolls eyes a lot at class. Does give a lot of extra credit opportunities tho. Beware of impossible lab practicals!
Dr. Valle is the best anatomy/physiology professor ever! She makes you work hard for your A, and I highly recommend not taking any other classes/low class load with her courses if possible. Good luck, study hard, skim the book, read her notes, do the chapter quizzes, and put a lot of effort into comp books.
Anyone whos written a bad review for her hasn't put in the effort to pass. She's a great teacher and super hilarious. It's a TON of material to learn, yes, but the key to passing is 1.) For lecture, turn her powerpoints into online flashcards and STUDY THEM! 2.) For practicals, record videos of everything on the models. Literally all I did (cont.)
(cont.) and I got over 100% on the majority of all of the exams. She offers a TON of extra credit. Start studying for tests a week in advance. It's a lot of work, but you learn a lot. I really enjoyed this class and everything I learned will stick with me. If you can't pass this class with an A or B, you shouldn't be going into the medical field.
So i took valle last semester and let me just tell you, this is a hard class. If you read the book and review your notes everyday it is passable but, she has serious attitude. if you ask her a question that she believes is "dumb" she'll respond with a sassy remark. her tests are really hard along with her lab tests. fyi the first test is easiest
Reading the textbook and memorizing the powerpoint helped me on the tests. a lot to memorize
I took Valle fall 2016. This class was doable even while I had a huge loss in my family that year. She can be tough, as are her assignments, but honestly, I learned so much. If you do the end of the chapter Qs, draw out flow charts and try understanding instead of memorizing, you'll do fine. I listened to ppl saying she's the worst, but shes not.
Shes nice, quizzes are easy and lets you go over models for practicals. Wanted to take her for physic but her class got full real quick .
Second time I have taken her cuz of anatomy lol. She is good teacher. She has changed a lot. Good for physiology. Physiology is hard, you got to study every day and dr. Valle is awesome. I like the teacher. She is also a biologist as well. :p
Anatomy is a class you need to have time to study for. Hw is always done from the lab book, can be challenging at times. Lectures seem really long, but you really need to study it for the lecture exams. Lecture exams are harder than the lab exams. For lab exams, STUDY the models. Going to open lab helps. Don't take this class with another science.
Don't take this class with another science class. STUDY her powerpoints and models. Do all homework, classwork, labs, extra credit (all easy points). The quizzes are super easy as well. Tests and practicals are hard tho. GOOD LUCK.
Do not take this class with another science class. Lots of work. Do all homework, in-class assignments, labs, and lots of extra credit points. Lecture is long, but also available on powerpoint (practically the lecture exam). Go to open labs, it helps since practicals are really tough. Lots of luck!
Took Dr. Valle during the winter and passed with an A. If you are taking this during winter or summer don't expect to do anything other than this class if you want an A. If you put in the time to memorize, the practicals are easy A's. She gives extra credit to boost grades. The exams were hard but based on the lectures. She gives out notes to fill.
Took this class in the winter so it was heavy. Prof. Valle is a great teacher. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. Provides printed lectures and has a clear grading criteria. Group work is mandatory. She can be stern but overall a caring teacher.
Took her class over summer, which was extremely difficult. Her class is point based and gives out a lot of extra credit. Always do the homework and record her lectures. Use lab time to record and practice practicals. She's an amazing professor but if you want an A, you will need to work for that A.
Professor Valle is very strict and tough. The class was over all extremely difficult and she does not grade easy. You HAVE to study powerpoint notes 24/7 or you WILL NOT pass. She does not cut slack. Doesnt give half credit. Extra credit is given but nothing late. No late work.
What a great teacher Dr. Anne Valle. She supports a lot and cheers up students who she likes only. If you can study and prepare practical exam by yourself it will be okay. Life is what it is.
I took Professor Valle for fall 2017. Physiology is a hard class no matter who you take it with. She does offer extra credit throughout the class ,which if you do all, you can bump you grade a whole letter grade up. She does go over her power points a little fast so be prepared review A LOT out side of class. Meet up with your groups and study!
A lot of work to do. Material is a hard but she answers any Qs. Take advantage of office hrs. Tells u exactly what to study for Qz. Variety of Qz, 5 exams, 5 practicals, culminative final, presentation. A lot of EC & gp work. Lect a lil boring but helps if you participate. Book is a necessity! Can pass if you work hard enough. Helps to have a gp.
She's very caring and makes herself very accessible However, the way the class was laid out was very unorganized. It felt like the whole semester we were just trying to catch up and being assigned a lot of unnecessary busy work when in actuality it would've been nicer to have time to study. I recommend her class if you plan on only taking this one.
Dr. Valle was an amazing professor to have. She was very caring but makes you work for your grade (Winter 2019-fast pace). I highly recommend taking a biology class before taking anatomy, even though there are no prereqs. Lots of busy work, homework, but she gives extra credit and tells you what quizzes are on and gives a test review.
Dr Valle is a tough but great professor. She gives tons of extra credit so that helps a lot. She really does care and wants her students to pass, but she does make you work for it. She drops your lowest quiz score and averages your lowest practical. Shes super funny and has awesome life stories. Work hard, ask her questions and youll be fine.
Dr. Valles class IS tough only if you dont put effort in. You have to have a lot of discipline to study for exams. you cannot skip class. You wont receive credit for in class work if not there. Binder checks, exams, practicals, quizzes, dissections, daily hw, notes, and EC make up your grade for this class. Stay organized and read the textbook
I love Professor Valle, her class lectures are truly inspiring. She's extremely approachable in and outside of class. She cares about your success so talk to her if you have any questions and or concerns. The practicals were so much fun! As for the labs, I learned a lot alongside my group mates. Take her! :) #teamvalle
Professor Valle is the best anatomy teacher. She does give a lot of homework & notes to do at home before lecture but when she teaches, she REALLY teaches! She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and is very fair as long as you work hard (she knows who works hard). I'm the type of person who really needs to study & she helped me a lot
Anatomy is by no means an easy subject, but with Dr. Valle it is a less bumpy ride. Homework is assigned everyday, and studying for exams and practicals is crucial But she always prepares you for them. Plus theres always opportunity for extra credit . truly milks the entirety of the 4 hours and 10 minutes to make sure everyone knows the material.
you will learn a lot from Dr. Valle. you have to work really hard if you wanna pass with an A. she offers a lot of extra credit, you do all of them cause it will bump your grade. study practicals with your groupmates it helps a lot. it's a hard a class, any science class is hard but you will be glad you take her regardless.
This class was challenging, the test are so heavy but the practicals were easy. study with your classmates, it helps a lot. this class is no joke, you MUST make this class your priority in order to pass. start studying from the day she gives you the notes so you won't feel overwhelmed with so much info to study.
Probably the hardest class I've taken yet. I took it over the Summer so a 6 week class is usually intense but this was a whole other level. Be ready to memorize EVERYTHING. Make sure you do the HW as they give the easiest points in that class despite them taking hours everyday to finish. From beginning to end of this class, its all you breathe.
Discriminated against me Humiliated me by checking my notes like a kid and no one else. Watched me during test. Dropped the summer course had to pay 250 bucks now Im at CC taking it while FT. I wouldnt take her class at all unless youre okay being treated the way I was especially if youre not white or Latino. Save yourself and take a prof
Save yourself, take a different professor else where.
take your science course elsewhere or with someone else. Thats all Im going to say.
Difficult class, would not recommend for students who work. Take another professor because she's not very nice. If you have a question and she thinks it's not worth it, she gives attitudes. However, there are lots of extra credit points she offers.
Anatomy is not an easy class, you definitely need to put in work. Dr Valle is a great professor. She gives many easy extra credit opportunities. She even gives extra credit towards your practical if you go to open lab. She is accessible outside of class. She provides you with the tools to pass her class, but don't expect her to do the job for you.
Anne Valle is a great teacher who sets you up for successlike I said sets YOU up for success. She gives you everything you need and it is up to you to get it done. She gives you a study guide before every test, provides up to 5 points extra credit on every test, and 20 points bonus at the end of the semester. Memorizing MUST be a skill!!!
Prof Valle is the best! All these negative comments below must have came from lazy young kids. If you want an easy A, DO NOT take her. But if you want to LEARN, take Prof Valle! Yes, Anatomy is hard so you really gotta put in work but she tells you everything you need to study before each exam. She yells a lot but that's just how she talks LOL.
Valle is cool and has a great sense of humor. Dont ask her stupid questions, she would put you in the spot, but its all jokes and thats what made the class fun! Not an easy class, u really have to study hard to get an A but its def doable. 5 lecture exams, 6 practicals, 3 easy quizzes, bunch of hws and in-class assignments. Lots of extra creds!
Valle is a horrible professor. Gets a attitude and tends to treat adult students like children. She gives TONS of work and will take points away from you for things unrelated to work which should be illegal. She has you set up a binder for her class and if you do not organize it the way she likes she will deduct points. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR !!
If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. If you want to learn I recommend you take Dr. Valle's class. It may be hard, and you have to do many works, but as the semester ends, you realized that you have learned a lot.
I struggled to keep my grade. She gives A LOT of work, and I feel like its way too much especially during a pandemic. Yea, I get it, Anatomy is a very hard subject but some slack would be nice.
Very lecture heavy, which sucks because I fall asleep everytime she talks. She does not know how to work a computer that well either, which is inconvenient during the stay at home order of the pandemic, but she is trying her best. Very sweet lady and understanding of taking retakes. She does care for her students, or at least the ones that try.
Had Dr Valle for anatomy & physio. Amazing anatomy prof, physio was difficult. Ended up having to take it with a different professor b/c the material wasn't clicking. She gives lots of extra credit, lectures are detailed, always open if you have questions. If you take her for anatomy I promise the material will be ingrained in you. Worth it!
Great professor. Gives up to 15 EC. Learned a lot of things, watch the lectures, and exams are timed. try your best and you will be fine.
Took Anat32 online. She's a really nice and sweet professor, kinda like a grandma. Super knowledgable. Lots of quizzes which were harder than the exams. Both timed but doable. Practicals are easy if you study her slides. Class would be better in person because she just repeats her own words/powerpoint slides when lecturing
BEST ANATOMY TEACHER EVERR. FIRST TIME EVER TAKING ANATOMY AND BEING ONLINE I STILL LEARNED ALOT AND EXAMS WERE HARD BUT AS LONG AS YOU STUDY YOU WILL BE FINE. TIME MANAGMENT IS KEY HERE.
I don't know. she is really sweet but winter session anatomy 32 is a lot. I get its a lot of information but she has a lot of technology problems that makes it hard to grasp the information. Her slides are what are on the practical. She just reads off of them. You're better off just teaching yourself the material. This class is doable though
Taken online. Horrible mistake. She gives free pdf of book but her practical exams of models are really what dictate if u pass the class. Reading is pretty important and she works with you if u miss class but being in class is important. She goes over some things that aren't in her study guides, so if you miss class you'll miss answers.
She was AMAZING! I took her for Spring this semester and I do not regret it. She is very helpful and she gives extra credit. Participation will make or break your grade, so I would recommend to get ready to answer questions that she ask the class. Helpful tip: STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!
She is amazing! I recommend taking her. Yes, you have homework and you have to study but she will help you learn!
Anatomy32 in itself is not a hard class but Valle does nothing to make it seem like it. She offers a decent amount of extra credit but it won't be enough if you don't take the tests and practicals serious. Begin studying as soon as the unit begins. She's abhorrent when it comes to putting grades on canvas, didn't get our first grades until week 7.
she is nice but i don't like the way she teach. you have to study yourself. exam is very hard and lectures that she teach was not in the exam.
Professor Valle is a nice professor. However, this a very difficult class. She is the most unorganized professor I ever had. She spontaneously creates HW in the middle of lecture. She does NOT update grades on canvas so you do have to keep track of your own grade. DO NOT take this course during summer or winter.
Dont take in summer/winter- I took it in summer and almost died. Overall a decent professor, but lectures can be very hard to follow along to. Be prepared to put in the work. Watch yt lectures/videos, use quizlets, and READ THE TEXTBOOK. Stay on top of things bc she'll pile stuff on. She doesn't post grades on canvas which is frustrating. GL
Do not take this class during summer or winter!! Dr.Valle is a nice person but extremely disorganized as a professor and just reads from slides. She also does not use canvas for grades. Had to do a LOT of outside studying/youtube videos, tests are a mix of mc and frq. incredibly stressful during summer, might be better w full sem
Took this course over the summer, by far made it harder than it should have. We wasted so much time on Labs. A lot of the times she just reads of her slides. She expected us to read the entire textbook at the same time for exams.A LOT OF FAVORITISM. If you end up having her, participate so she likes you more and do all of the extra credit.
This class was something, she is unorganized and heavy on lectures. When it comes to lectures she just explains whats on the slide. If you decide to take her get ready to study right when she goes over lecture. She expects you to know everything she teaches within a short amount of time. She has her moments...you just need to lock in when studying.
An amazing teacher, she gives you everything you need to succeed. If you don't put in the effort, you won't pass. She gives out SO much extra credit. The tests and practicals are easy only if you actually study the study guide she gives you. I recommend finding a study buddy in class because that will help you out so much.
I love Dr.Valle. She's the best professor I've had at El Camino. Anatomy will be a hard class no matter who you take - Dr. Valle lectures well, always gives a study guide, and clear instructions of what will be on the practical. You have to study for this class. If you put in atleast 20 hrs a week you will pass well. AT LEAST 60pts of EXTRACREDIT!
so much extra credit (+75). i love this professor, she is incredible and it is deff a class you have to put alot of work into like 10+ hrs a week studying. but that is anat, you have to study and you cant wait until the last minute. she is so sweet tho, love her.
