Structured teacher with a very interactive way of teaching that panders to nearly every learning style. Her students are loyal, and try to get her courses in consecutive semesters.
Wonderful teaching style. Easy to understand and very helpful.
I remember taking Ms. Voth. It was a while ago but she was a really great teacher. She drinks her water with a straw. haha. But she also reminds me of the elves in Lord of the Rings. Hehe. Awsome teacher
If you can tollerate her snotty attitude towards average people who are trying to learn math take her. her office hours are impossible to go to since all her "clones" clog up the hallway. If at all possible DO NOT take her or you will be mis-gui

Wow, just wow. Dont take her class. If you are only in math to get out of math such as english majors or journalism majors then you will hate her class. She is also a very political oriented teacher. Dont ask why but very liberal... not that thats a bad thing. Just watch out for your cornhole.
good teacher, but if you dont ask questions she will move on. very eager to help the students, but you have to want the help. nice lady
Great teacher
The only thing that made this class hard was the teachers incompetence. Her snobby attitude and snide comments are common throughout the semester. This lady should not be allowed in a teaching environment. Also if you want to do well in her class you MUST join her cult and become one of her clones.
Horrible teacher! Avoid this teacher at all cost. The only way to get a decent grade in this lady's class is by joining her cult. And don't tell her you went to the tutors to get help, she will rip you a new one. She only likes her way and her way only. The most unprofessional teacher I ever had.
Worst teacher I have ever encountered. If you thought math was unpleasant before, wait until you have her. Narcissitic, arrogant, incompetent, the list goes on and on. Do yourself a favor-never take class from her.
I would never take this lady again. Her tests are difficult with the fact that if you 4get to label something MINUS 500!! I am almost convinced she looks for stuff to mark off if you aren't one of her brown nosing students. She tries 2 act nice but you can see right through it. Dorks love this class
she is the best teacher i have ever had, seen and will see in whole entier life. she is so kind and underestanding that you would not belive it.
I love her. She admittedly has more patience for her higher math classes, however. She is so clear, everything seems easy when she explains it. And, she is wonderful in office hours. She will help you if you want to learn math!!!
I am one who loves to blast the bad teachers. This is not one of the bad teachers. I had no choice but to take her and after reading the reviews here I was worried. She is the best math teacherI have every had. No I am not getting an A in this class maybe a C. Her tests are just like the class work.
She will explain many things many times to you. She is a little inpatient with people who blurt out questions without really thinking about them, but who blames her.She does have a bunch of suck ups around her a lot but if you want to do the math the way she wants you do need to talk to her.She does dock for small errors. She drops the lowest grade
She is very friendly and helpful. Her classes aren't easy, but they are perfect. She will teach you what you need to know, and test you on what she taught. She's not hard at all if you work. Slackers won't cut it in her class. (oh and....bring some note cards =) )
THE BEST PROFESSOR I EVER HAD. BECAUSE OF HER I CHANGED MY MAJOR TO MATH. IF YOU WANT TO LEARN TAKE HER CLASS. SHE IS CLEAR AND VERY HELPFUL.GREAT PROFESSOR AND PERSON!!!
Good teacher. Be sure to make time to go to her office hours, they can be very enjoyable and you can learn alot from them.
She is a very nice, friendly, and approachable teacher. She encourages and answers all questions. She really enjoys getting to know her students, and helping them succeed. Her grading is very fair, she gives credit for work shown. She is easy to follow and understand. I wish I could take her for all of my math prereq's.
this was a tough class but mrs. voth was fair. if you do your homework you'll do fine on her tests, but you have to ask questions if you need help...and see her during office hours if needed it will make calculus so much easier. she's got a lot of personality and that's more than you can say about most math teachers
Horrific teacher.... AVOID HER!
She's a nice teacher. As long as you have questions, she'll help you out!
Ok... She's a lil tough, but she's a great lady. Humorous and friendly, just do NOT get on her bad side - it's really not (enter synonyms for "nice"). She is very willing to help... when she has the time. I recommend taking her if you like math and, at least, kinda get it. DO YOUR HW! Don't use the comps and turn your phones off.
Good teaching style; introduces lesson then works problems on board. Doesn't check homework, but do it in order to understand material. Straightforward tests; no tricks. Lectures are a little unclear at times b/c she sometimes moves quickly through material. You might have to deduce some things for yourself. Is willing to answer questions.
Terrible Teacher!!! The worst math teacher ive ever had. Never exlained things in a way that made sense. Talked in circles. Always tried to make herself sound smart with lengthy explinations. Odd obsession with herself and ability to understand Latin. If i didn't already know what i was doing...i wouldn't have passed. Avoid her.
1 of the best math tchrs i hv evr had! very clear &helpful. avail in office hrs, math cntr, & by appt. devoted to stdnts. oftn brings $70worth of candy for classes to snack on during lect. flexible w/test scheduling and gives study shts so students can ace exams. prepares stdnts for higher math classes. helps dedicated stdnts achieve their goals.
Professor Voth is a very intriguing individual. Her teaching style is to simply assign hw and then answer any problems you might have had in doing the hw. She's very nice. Tests are a little hard, just because there are only a few problems, so 1 missed is like an entire letter grade down. She also has a cult like following of students which is odd.
I had no problems in her class, she is almost too easy but that is what most people are looking for in a math teacher but seriously she is too easy. Also I took her class during the 6 week summer semester and she missed class 3 times!! She is definately a little flaky. But most of her explanations were clear. A little above average.
When she doesn't show up, she owes you candy. :)
She postponed a test so that one of the students can bring in their new puppy. Very simple class. Loved the days shed bring in candy, not just a bag, but $70 to $120 worth. You should definetly take this calss.
She drives an awesome car and she loves wine! She is the greatest lady at Palomar, with a husband just as cool! I am good at math when I understand it- she really helped me understand everything! If you go to class, ask questions, study, and do your homework, you have no reason to not pass her class! I dont see how anyone can give her bad comments.
Great teacher!! I thought she was a little too easy when I took her for trig but that was just the subject. DEFINATELY knows the subject and is very EXCITED to teach it. Highly recommended.
She doese everything very quick. Skips steps that you should know how to do so it makes it a little confusing. Don't turn in any homework but have homework quizes that you have to use your homework on. Always brings candy to class. Not an easy class if you don't go and see her during her office hours.
Excellent professor and Highly recommend! It was the summer of 2007 that I took her for trig and she was such an excellent prfessor that I am taking her again for Math 110. Her teaching methods are clear and is willing to take the time to explain math problems. Her tests are okay, not hard and not easy, just know and study the materials!
I would recommend taking a class from Anne Voth. I broke my leg the day before the final and she was more the happy to reschedule it later in the summer. I would also recommend using her office hours. I would take her again if I was going to take another class at Palomar.
She is one of the best teachers I have had. She is thoughtful and brings a lot of insight to the math discipline. She really cares for her students but she expects that you know what you are required to know. If you do the homework, you can't get less than a B. Her test are very strait forward. ps. classiest woman ever to don a sweatshirt and pants

Prof. Voth is just a great math teacher. I hate math with a passion and failed this class once before taking Voth, and I she makes math so easy. Her tests are ridiculously easy and she teaches you easy ways to do algebra that I never knew before. Take this professor.
If you hate math and think you are hopeless, TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! Anne Voth will completely change the way you think about math. Her lectures are clear and only go over what you need,no extra confusing stuff. Her tests feel easy...but you are actually just learning the material. And she is a wonderful lady (though hopelessly addicted starbucks)!! :)
Easy class, Goes kinda fast, and she stands in front of the board when she working out the problem so i can never see what she does lol,and yes she does have "cronies" i hate kids like that good teacher thou
She is excellent and helpful teacher is you're either going to take witch ever math either 50 or 110 I definitely recommend you to take the class with her. And a good thing is that she takes candy or treats for the class.
She's really nice and very knowledgable. She's more than willing to help and wants students to pass the class. I'm not sure why people are whining that she plays favorites- I never saw it. There are obviously people who want to be in class and those who don't. I suspect the ones that do not aren't getting good grades and are lashing out. SHE'S COOL
Best teacher at Palomar! Genuinely interested in the advancement of her students.
she is a great teacher. i completely recommend her! i will never take another math teacher at palomar... unless have to.
Outstanding math teacher. Very methodical and clear. To be successful; be in class and do the hw assignments. Her downfall is that she often takes a long time to grade tests.
Easy Class, Do the Study Guide and you should be fine for the tests, drops the lowest score of 5 test, and then there's a final. Test are fairly easy if you know the material. STUDY the STUDY GUIDE! she brings candy too so thats a bonus i guess.
she is a sweet math teacher who tries to keep you interested. She is esentric in a good way and always brings candy. Her tests are relatively simple just have to go to class to do well
Amazing teacher. Really nice and really helpful. You have to turn in hw cards everyday but not the hw. She reviews everything that is going to be on the test, and she is always available if you need help.
I did not like her teaching at all!! I had passed the class but, she is not a good math teacher.
Professor Voth is an awesome Math Professor. She creates a cool, fun atmosphere in her classroom and teaches with great clarity. Her lectures are precise. She teaches new concepts from upcoming HW assignments and teaches in a way where, if you're paying attention, you probably will not have any questions. I HIGHLY recommend her class!!!
She makes math fun and really cares about helping her students learn.
She is clear on her lectures but that does not make her a good professor. personally i found her teaching style to be very dry and old fashioned. we copied examples from the book all day. you must do the homework and you must spend lots of time out of class studying to learn the material for the tests.
Best math teacher I have ever had. She is gives Review sheets before each test and whats on the review is a direct reflection of what is on the test. Her expectations are clear and she is entertaining. taking her again next semester.
She is slow when it comes to grading and has high standards of what you need to do to pass such as studying 20 hours outside of class. She constantly talked about her pets and made it mandatory that we turned in note cards with chit chat so we could spend the first few mins gossiping. Her teaching style is also boring- copying problems from the boo
requires logic
Best teacher ever. She loves her students and really cares about their progress. Voth makes great use of her office hours and lectures are informative. She test on exactly what she teaches and she does not have ridiculous expectations. Voth also encourages participation her class through her morning flash cards which helps students work together.
Anne is an awesome teacher. Gives reviews for each text, extra credit words, hw is not mandatory, drops lowest test grade and has a good attitude as long as she has her starbucks. Dont let your phone go off in class or you're bringing in candy. Definitely recommend!!!
professor voth is a good professor but her grading methods are highly questionable. either you do the problems her way or you get no credit, even if her way is inefficient. otherwise I give her a B-
teaching is very by the book. just do the homework and study guides and you will pass. gives class extra credit for test when a lot of people are absent/leave class early. she has a weird obsession with starbucks cups and her dogs
Took Voth last semester. She is a great teacher, but coddles often. People strong at math will find themselves bored. She spent a long time on easy subjects and skipped over sections vital to MATH 141. She will dock you on the test if you don't show work exactly HER way, even if the answer is correct. It was aggravating.
After taking her class, I indifferent about her. Her tests are easy, however as mentioned before, if you don't do it her way you don't get credit. She teaches right out of the book, so if they gave me the textbook and 5 months to study, my grade would be the same. I won't be taking her again, unlike her "cult-like" following students.
I had Mrs. Ann Voth for Math 15. She is an excellent teacher and extremely knowleable about Math. She is very nice and thoughtful because she gives two hours of homework every night and candy sometimes, lots. Follow her procedures the way she wants it done and you will do great. Final grade "C" after not having math for over 10 years.
Were do I start with this professor, her way of teaching dates back to decades ago. It's either her way or the high way, there are many ways to solving a problems but if you think outside of the box she'll fail you, being in her class was like a game if she likes you then your grades are good but if not, then she will careless. Not recommended
Passing the class was not a walk in the park, she teaches okay but like the person before me said either you do the problems the way she teaches it on the test or you will get that problem wrong. Honestly not a fair grader but her way of teaching is fair. I would not take her again
This professor needs help, her grading is the worst I've seen, especially on tests. Who ever said she cares about her students, their wrong. She doesn't care about any of them except the ones that worship her like the person few reviews before me said. Not recomended at ll :(
Class is not difficult at all. She dumbs down the material for whatever reason and requires the class to do things her way (otherwise your solution is wrong). I think she just wants to appear smart, her "my shat don't stank" attitude says it all. The only thing that prevented me from acing every one of her exams was her actively seeking to find anything that would prevent me from getting 100s. My advise: don't take her, you can find better professors elsewhere.
Mrs. Voth is a great math teacher, explains every math concept really clearly. She usually tries to give you a homework quiz on some sections to prove that you did your homework, but if you take notes in class, then the tests are very simple. Her easy-to-understand explaining is by far the best of any math teachers, I'm taking her 3 times in a row!
She is very strict about how she wants things formatted... hw isn't required, but highly recommended (good practice for tests). Answers any questions. Uses examples out of the book. Overall, easy to understand and willing to help.. oh and she brings candy to class on occasion
Not very good of a personality, only weird people worship her, does very random things you wouldnt expect a normal teacher would do, and the worst is her grading on the tests. Teaches okay, but alot of times just talks to the board. rather stay at home and study off the book, but that will only make it worse. she sends exams over email!PAY ATTNTION
I spent the entire semester looking at the back on her head and body, which were blocking the problem on the board. Very picky about format, it has to be her way, even if it is different in the text. She misses a lot of classes 6 out of 30 and takes to long to get graded test returned. We were on test 2 and had still not be giving back test 1.
By far, the best math teacher I've ever had. EVER. If you pay attention, everything is crystal clear. She does many examples out of the book, even ones that look like the homework questions she gives you. She brings candy to class sometimes too. Very nice and funny too. I'm taking her three times in a row. :))
Anne is a great teacher.Tests are really easy as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework.
Anne is very nice, as long as you don't question her authority. 5 exams and a final. Lowest score of the four exams dropped . She brings candy, and sometimes her dog Trajan! Class is alright as long as take tedious notes, time will fly. very helpful when asked a question. She wants you to succeed. Do the homework and ask questions. you'll be fine!
She's the best math teacher at Palomar
Hands down best professor I've had at Palomar. :D
Professor Voth is a nice teacher but I wouldn't reccommend her because she seemed a little unorganized with hw assignments and notes. She requires that students turn in hw cards every class. She drops the lowest test score which always helps. Overall, it wasn't my favorite class.
gives review for every test, drops lowest test score, hw cards due every day (super easy, just do it), very helpful. cumulative final. absolutely no complaints. just ask if you need help or clarification. she is not a hard teacher, but the material is very tough, so studying is HIGHLY recommended (obviously). take her class if you have the chance.
If you want to pass this class you must go to class, & do your homework. Simple as that. Voth collects homework cards, I really like this method because she goes over the problems that most of the people are having problems with, & is a good method of communicating with her, & she takes attendance with them. Tutor sits in on classes.
Professor Voth is a good Professor... do your job, homework and studying, she will help if you need it, offers tutor in class
Great at teaching the material. She's also a nice lady. Very helpful in class. Gives lots of extra credit, but mostly to people who ATTEND class regularly. Attendance is a must. She's obsessed with her dogs, she brought her pomeranian into class one day and let it roam around during a test. very distracting. Drops lowest test score.Grades on a curve
professor Voth is great at teaching intermediate algebra. she is easy and helpful. she collects homework cards that really help students. I RECOMMEND her.
Fantastic Professor! Homework optional but recommended.
calc I class took it a few semesters ago. If you go to class and study the material and put forth effort it is an easy B. She takes way too many students though...so if you show up somewhat late you will be sitting on the ground.
very nice, tries to help with extra credit, but if you havent had math in high school past algebra I, i would not recommend this teacher. she kind of comes at it with a 'well you know this, youve seen it before' attitude and rushes through the lesson without explaining concepts. shes a cool lady but not if math isnt your thing...
She breaks down everything and takes time to make sure everything is understood. She uses up ALL her class hours, so don't ever expect to get out early. If you get frustrated with slow paced learning, this is not the teacher for you. It worked perfectly for me.
Awesome Calculus teacher. Breaks things down in a way to easily understand. Definitely gives partial credit where it is deserved. Brings candy to class as well as her Papillon dog, Trajon. Would take her for Calc 2 next semester but she gave her class away. Take her if you can, she is one of the best math teachers at Palomar.
She's one of my fav. teachers in Palomar, I changed my major so I can't take her anymore :( SHE'S AWESOME!! I loved her way of teaching ... very recommended :)
She is a great math teacher. Very helpful and goes over the material you don't understand step by step. Do the HW to keep up and go to class or else you will fall behind. If you're not good at math you will struggle. Not easy stuff. Your grade is based on the work and effort you put into studying for the tests. Gives partial credit. Take her!
Amazing professor! Very clear and helpful, which is a must when learning Calculus. Gives students candy and encourages student participation. Doesn't grade homework, but gives quizzes from the homework problems. I recommend taking her classes.
Mrs. Voth is a great teacher! I've taken her for Calc 1 and 2 and could easily have gotten an A in each had I applied myself a bit more. None of the hw is required to be turned in so if some material's easy for you you can skip it. I did this quite a bit and only did the hw's that we were quizzed on and the reviews prior to tests.
Professor Voth is probably one of my favorite math teachers at Pmar. She is very clear and organized. She is very open with questions and is happy to answer them. Remember those extra credit words though and be careful not to mix them up. She is probably one of the best Calculus teacher at Palomar. Take her and you wont regret it!
She does not explain concepts well. Never seems to answer the students questions but rather just points back at the equation with an it just is attitude. Makes many mistakes in her own work so be careful when taking notes. Having all that said if you just follow along with the book and become self taught, her test will seem easy.
Voth is a really kind and helpful professor. Her lectures are sometimes unclear and rushed, but for the most part, it is clear and straight ot the point. Her test are easy as long as you keep up with the homework and do the exam review guide. She is very helpful and open to students seeing her during office hours which is a huge plus.
Professor Voth really helped me get more interested in math. This was the first time in my life that I actually got good test grades and knew the material.
Definitely the best math teacher I've had in a long time. The material is tough but she is very clear about how to approach each problem, you can tell she is very passionate about the subject she is teaching and she definitely cares about her students success. She also brings in candy for the class like every 2 weeks, how could you not want that?
Anne Voth is such an incredible teacher. She was very friendly, gave extra credit on tests based on attendance, did quizes straight from the homework. If you need additional help she was very flexible and always willing to help if you can get her take her! Also expect visits from her Papillons :)
Best math teacher I've had in my college career. Makes a difficult subject understandable. Homework is not graded but, you won't pass without it. Put in the hard work early in the semester to build a solid foundation in calculus and you should get an A.
Professor Voth is an amazing woman. She takes the time to help each of her students and really knows the material. As long as you're not on your phone 24/7 and actually ask questions during class, you'll do brilliantly. If you don't like math or aren't very good at it, Professor Voth is the professor for you!
This professor moves way too fast. When a new concept is introduced I need a pause, which all of my previous instructors provided, in order to soak in the new information. She throws information at us and doesn't pause, and stated that she does NOT want us to take notes. She purposely moves too fast for us to record what has been written down.
Voth moves quickly and occasionally leaves you struggling on the homework due to the fact she went over 3 sections in one lecture. If you don't mind doing a reasonable amount of textbook reading, her class is a breeze. Study guides are just like the exam, quizzes are based directly off the homework. She lets you write her dogs' names down for EC.
Prof Voth is AWESOME!! I took Math 140 before and was struggling all the time to understand concepts and keep up with the homework and still didn't pass, but when I took her class, everything was so clear and easy to understand, and I rarely needed help with the homework. Her tests are exactly like the class work and reviews
Prof. Voth is a great professor. Grade based on 4 Exams (lowest dropped) + Final. Complete all homework, use office hours, and the math lab if struggling. Homework not collected but "You get out what you put in." quizzes from homework exactly. Fair grader - Offers Extra Credit on tests. "Her Dog's Names" must be in class to get names.
She is rude to students that ask questions during lecture. Make sure your algebra is on point. Shell take up to 70% of points off on an exam question for only algebra errors. I lost 30% for a flipped sign on an exam once. Yes- in Calc 2, I lost that much. To get an A: go to class, sit up front, dont talk/ ask questions, and go to office hours.
Worst math teacher i've had the displeasure of taking. Extremely rude and condescending. Shuts students down as soon as they ask a question and makes them feel like an idiot. I figured out right away, don't ask questions unless you want to be publicly ridiculed. Also always stands in front of the board she writes on, then erases immediately. Avoid!
Voth explains things in an easy-to-understand manner. She usually doesn't check homework, but do it because YOU WILL FALL BEHIND. Also, not doing it will make lectures really confusing. She's not very good at calling on raised hands, so speak up if you have a question. She posts notes on Canvas but in cursive so they're a bit hard to read.
Professor Voth is a really cool teacher. Took this class because I forgot about all the fundamental rules in Math. She does tend to speed through lectures but when you take the initiative to ask questions, she is more than willing to explain. If you take the time in understanding the concepts and show your work, you will easily pass her class.
Professor Voth is a fantastic professor who really cares for her students. She is enthusiastic and precise in her teaching, and is open to questions both inside and out of lecture. Please make sure to pay attention, participate in class, and do the homework and you should be fine!
Great teacher, was very kind and not a tough grader, but makes sure the students actually learn. She went a little fast during lectures but she posts everything she teaches online.
Professor Voth is one of my favorite professors. She is really funny and her lectures explain the topic is clear full detail. If you want to do well in her class, you should attend class and do the hw. The exams should be easy if you pay attention and do the work.
Amazing teacher to an insane subject. She is very sympathetic. Only HW is an index card stating which questions you had trouble with and fun facts about yourself. HW is harder than the exams and offers extra credit. Loves to answer any questions (except rhetorical ones). Drops lowest test grade. Material itself is challenging, so don't skip class!
I honestly havent had a professor worse than Vöth, I asked questions and was told that I should have learned that in Pre-Calculus. She expects you to come into her class with all the knowledge in the world and sort of fend for yourself if she cant answer the questions. I had a bad experience personally, for a person not that great at math, beware
Dont understand these good reviews. She's literally the worst math professor. Goes way to quickly in lecture and writes things on the board without explaining anything. If you ask her a question she will say "you should have learned this in trig" Like no I clearly don't remember and thats why Im asking and as a professor YOU SHOULD HELP!
Prof. Voth is very knowledgeable and I like how she encouraged students to come to office hours and went over the hw. Her study guides and the tests were similar. She grades tough on notation and formatting and I wish there was leeway for that. She is blunt which can come across as harsh, but she gives students a lot of help to pass the class.
By far one of the best Math professor at Palomar. She really cares about her students and make sure that they're learning the content. People are saying she's rude but I think she's really nice, just straight forward. If you attend every class and do the HW, you'll for sure pass. The study guides do reflect the Exams and are fairly easy.
If you find a different way that makes more sense to you. Dont do it. You have to solve problems exactly how she shows you. She'll show you once and if you ask questions about it she will snidely say I just told you. Because heaven forbid you would need new information repeated to help understand. I did well in the class but others struggled a lot.
I've never been so upset with a math class before. I have never not gotten an A in a math class until Voth. She was rude and wouldn't answer questions during class. If your need clarification on something from last class or earlier in the class she'll be upset that you didn't just perfectly remember all the information and doesnt help you
I overall liked Anne Voth as a person, she was very nice and spoke a lot in her zoom calls. She would make us laugh in class and she covered a lot. But this class is HW heavy and you have to study. Please stay on top of your zoom calls and make sure to practice. I failed on my side and didn't get to study as much for the class.
She was a very good teacher. For me the class moved at a really nice pace. The tests are super easy. You don't really need to study if you pay attention in class. She has very good feedback on the tests and she posts her notes for you to look back on.
Professor Voth is a solid choice when it comes to STEM majors. Her handwriting can be tough to read, and does grade critically but this is a good challenge if you're up to it. Just make sure your Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calc 1 knowledge are on point though to succeed.
I had Voth for Trig over the summer. She's honestly nice, but I get what other people are saying on here. If you take her just put in the work - she tries to make her class go fast and if you ask a question she just answered she won't be super enthused about it. If you have questions I'd recommend going to the office hours or checking her notes.
Voth has a nice personality and wants her students to succeed. However, she gets ticked off if you forget a step from Algebra. She expects you to know your math arithmetic from previous courses. There were multiple times students would ask a question and she would just give the dryest and lousy answer, so useless. She does give single point Ecredit
Voth was nice, but she didn't even have office hours, its supposedly not required during summer classes, which is so foolish. She gets offended if you didn't learn her way of teaching. Before grades were finalized I had a 79%, I kindly asked if there was any possible way I can turn in more work to end the class with an 80%. She never answered.
Definitely know your Algebra and Trig before coming into this class, as she grades critically per each exam. Her character is one of the best at Palomar, but her handwriting can be hard to read sometimes, and she does get annoyed when asked a non-calc specific problem like Algebra or Trig.
I have taken Professor Voth for AMG 1 & 2 (math 110 and 115) and refuse to take anyone else. I struggled with preclac with a different teacher but her STEM Prep classes are in group collaboration formats where you work on lessons and then she goes over it. Voth is helpful and makes sure that all her students are on track.
95% of your grade is based off of 5 tests. The tests aren't that hard but you have to be extremely careful and show ALL of your work. Her lectures are really dry and long. No incentives to do any homework, so you can just study and take the tests to learn the important stuff and get an A. Not recommend taking online, it's an unpleasant experience.
She gives 4 exams worth 75% of your grade and drops the lowest. Exams (and the final) are based very closely on the homework problems and are pretty easy if you've already done homework. About 2 hours hmwk a day. 5% of grade is attendance & daily hmwk cards. Just learn the formulas, know how to apply them & manipulate equations, and you'll be fine
just study for the exam and you will get an A.(she gives a review on every exam)
Anne Voth has made does a fantastic job teaching. She really knows how to introduce new topics in math with prime examples. I took calculus and it isn't an easy subject, but professor Voth does very well explaining the topics with examples and is very open to questions.
5 tests and all are hard. Grades way too ticky tacky. Hard to access through email. Dont trust the reviews here
She's not always very friendly & she can be intimidating to ask for help, but I am bad at math & finishing with an A. She doesn't believe in giving tricky questions on exams, let us use a cheat sheet, & has a lot of extra credit opportunities. As long as you ask about her dogs, she will like you. She drops your lowest exam grade.
I took this professor for all three Calc classes. Definitely helped knowing her style of teaching moving for 1-2 and 2-3. One of the best math teachers I have ever taken. Would recommend again and again. She makes math enjoyable and great teacher. Would recommend.
As long as you study and do most of the homework (or at least follow along in class) you'll do fine. She's very good at explanations of complex topics. Tests weren't too bad (except for 1 that was given a retake), and she gives test review sheets, very easy final and you can use a formula sheet for all tests
This professor explains topics well but not too in depth. If you study and pay attention and do the homework assigned you will get an A. However as a math major I was disappointed at how easy the exams and homework were. If you want an easy A take this class, however if you really want to learn the material I would recommend another professor.
She always taught me in the way that was easy understood when I had problems! She is good grader! You should take this class!
Professor Voth is one of the nicest math teachers I have had (high school included). She explains all the material thoroughly and is not afraid to push back exam dates if she does not think the class is ready. She even gave my class an entire free exam retake after my class did not do well on an exam. Overall, I highly recommend her class.
She is such a great teacher and can get the material across very well. Her tests are pretty hard and she will deduct a lot of points if you don't do it the way that she gives in class so its very important to attend class. She will always try to help the class out. She provides hw, but you don't have to turn anything in.
