the class is extremly easy as long as you keep up with the readings, but that is the only homework other than the easy journal assignment that you have all semester to do. attendance is taken which sucks but the class is interesting
She's nice, clear, thorough. Tests are pretty easy, a lot of reading but not difficult reading. Great class to take to fill requirements.
nice teacher
She is great! I reccommend her to everybody. She assign interesting books to read.
One of the best professors I have had. Class is easy, just keep up with the reading. There is a group midterm (easy) and a final exam. You are graded on participation, quizzes, tests and 10 journal entries (also very easy). She is nice and I really enjoyed class. I would definately recommned her
very interesting teacher, very nice, and very straight forward. I definately recommend this class with this teacher.
I loved this woman. She has a sarcastic sense of humor that was appropriate for the material, but only some caught on to it. The books we read were interesting, and easy to get through. The wide range of things we discussed left me with a great lasting impression of both the class and teacher.

Class is the easiest "A" you will ever get. Just keep up with the readings and the journal entries and you'll do just fine. Teacher is pretty cool, she is very sarcastic.
Great Teacher. IT's an easy class. Just make sure you do the journals and readings (very easy). Participation is a must.
Excellent teacher and utilizes an excellent methods of teaching. Attendence and partipation is a must. I loved her sarcastic jokes. Highly recommended.
she is way too sarcastic.. in a mean way.. her ideas are the only right ideas.. she doesnt let you say anything if she doesnt agree.. so my advice... its an easy A if you dont speak up for your opinions
easy teacher if you keep up with the easy readings, do the journals, and get to class on time. Very sarcastic and has dry humor but nice lady if your on her good side and to get there just do the work. its not that bad, def. a good choice!
best teacher at suny albany...caring, considerate and competent...brilliant teacher who, in my opinion, deserves better than SUNY albany(excuse my negative reference to suny albany but thats directly due to the BS professors in the economics dept)
this class was ok, some little quirks about her tick me off but besides that it was a very good class with valid information. Although, she should explain it in easier terms.
I took her courses freshmen year and LOVED her. But her personality may clash with some students. She is very sarcastic, but I think it emphasizes the atrocity and nature of certain material. Material was interesting. Participation benefits you. Interesting to hear diverse viewpoints frome ncouraged discussion.
Best prof. I have had at Albany. I took her freshman year for 131 and again for 141. The class was easy and most of the readings were interesting. She was sarcastic and really funny. She encouraged discussion and different view points. The classes made you think critically about lots of important, relavent issues. Wish I could take it again
i really liked this class a lot, i didn't really learn too much though.. if you know anything about human rights, you'll definitely get an A, i'm pretty sure i got literally a hundred in this class, definitely take it. it's an easy interesting A with an awesome teacher.
Take notes on whatever you can during class. Don't do the reading. Just take notes in class. You WILL get an A if you have any semblance of a brain.
She is the****. Real chill she isnt about calling on you if you arent raising your hand and doesnt try to make you look like an ****.
This teacher is pretty layed back, though she is sarcastic which is often taken in the wrong way. The class is so easy, I didn't do any of the readings and I got an A.
Go to class, take notes, and you should have an A. Write journals with some connection to something in your notes.
very helpful and good
Really easy teacher. If you can try to participate in class a little it helps your grade. Don't neccessarily have to do the readings but definitely pay attention in class. She makes sarcastic comments which I find amusing. One negative might be..you have to be ON TIME for clas
Loved her and the class! Extremely easy, if you read a paragraph of what she assigns and comment on it, theres your participation for the day. She's mad sarcastic, and as long as you have pockets of intelligence and an open mind you can understand where shes coming from (and, most likely, agree). you gotta show up though and be ON TIME!
awesome teacher! don't really have to do the readings but go to class and pay attention. The material is real easy. Gives pop quizzes but they're so easy as long as you go to class. i recommend this class if u need to fulfil a gen ed
on the first day I thought I was going to hate her and the class, I ended up really enjoying it. she's opinionated in her beliefs, but opens your mind to a lot. had to write 4 of 5 essays 2-4pgs long, 7 attendance pop quizzes lowest dropped, and a final. overall easy, but there is work involved (essays, reading), attendance mandatory. good gen.ed.
To do outstanding on essays, I would suggest voicing her opinion despite what you may think about the subject. If you can?t afford buying books for this class it?s really not necessary but if you can it won?t hurt. To guarantee an ?A? you need to show up to class on time and participate. Easy Class - you should take it
Loved her class! She is amazing and keeps things interesting. I like her discussions cause they're not mandatory but she respects everyone's opinion and encourages you to talk
An extremely easy class. Don't really have to read everything of what she assigns -- she goes over the entire reading in class. Just need to participate in discussions and be on time. Tests are very easy; review classes covers most of what is on them. Interesting subject matter -- everyone should take this class for what it teaches.
Shes very opinionated, and if you dont agree with her, she basically shuts you down. In your essays its better to write her views. Attendance/being on time is important, as well as participating but you dont need to read. I left the class angry a lot of times though because of what she and her close minded-ness
Easy A. Good prof. 6 in class essays which seem to be graded easy enough. 10% from class participation/attendance. Very easy final worth 30% of grade. Attendance mandatory, many absences will result in failure.
pay attention, talk a lot, goes over everything, lot of reading but is manageable, really interesting class, learn a lot, easy grader on essays, no final, easy quizzes, and especially fun to talk to at office hours
I LOVED class. Woulfe is an easy grader but she is truly inspiring and wants us to go further beyond the classroom. Class is extremely interesting and I'll forever remember what she taught me. Take her class!
Took this class to fill a gen ed and loved it. Can be slow at times, but once the class really gets going it's a lot of fun. Professor Woulfe enjoys asking questions and getting the class to think about various social issues. Really interesting and relatively easy.
Amazing professor! Pretty easy grader! Just show up to class and participate! Very affordable class! Only like $10 for the packet! 6 in class essays, lowest one dropped and a final! Recommend this class to everyone!
LOVE this professor! Attendance is mandatory but class is interesting. Great class discussions. 5 in class essays lowest grade dropped but essays are easy. One final test which isn't bad at all...If you read you will be at an advantage but you don't have to.
hearing the name of this course made me think it would be extremely boring but the class and prof are actually really interesting. conversations in the class can get very funny, the teacher is great. easy grader, only 1 test the final all multiple choice very easy, 3 outside essays and 7 in class essays but lowest gets dropped. def take this class
easy. 3 take home essays. one 100 mc final. all class are discussion. readings.. don't even need to read them, everything is discussed in class although the readings take like 10 mins top. attendance is a must.
ignorant. failed me one critical essay-with a zero-because she disagreed with me. resulted in me having a D in the course.
Way too opinionated to really teach anything. Will shoot any opposing opinions down. Would not suggest this class unless you are as left as they come.
Going to class is mandatory. Seven short-answer pop quizzes, lowest grade dropped, based on readings. Have to read prior class and if you miss some, she goes over it the next day. Three essays which are not bad if you put your thoughts into it. 100 m.c final. Love going to class and the discussions we have. She loves what she is teaching as well.
awful class. Do NOT Take
Great professor. Readings aren't completely necessary but helpful long term. Loves what she is teaching and really expands your mind. May be a tad close-minded but who isn't. 7 pop quizzes, drops lowest one, 3 essay papers, 100 mc final. Highly recommended
Great professor, is SERIOUS about what she teaches and does not like class clowns. you dont really need the books just take good notes in class and you will do just fine. HIGHLY recommend class its really intuitive and WILL change your mind making you mindfully aware of world/ human issues that affect us all. What REAL history is all about!
At first she doesnt give off the vibe that its gonna be a good course. But as soon as you get into the material you'll realize how amazing the material is and how great her teaching is. By far my favorite class taken at UAlbany. I hate a great experience in this class and I would like to think that feeling would pertain to most. recommended by far
At first she seemed a little tough because she is no nonsense!do not let her catch you texting or not paying attention, however she's the easiest a I ever had if you do her reading which are 2_3pages long it's only your fault if you fail,I enjoyed her and her dry sense of humour,I wish she taught another class I could take !
Very enjoyable. Stay on top of readings and you will be fine. She is very thorough, wants to help. 7 pop quizzes on readingslectures drops lowest grade. No tests besides final. Final paper is easy. Just go to class, read assignments, take notes and no doubt you'll get an A. No textbook $10 course packet at Mary Jane books that is necessary to have
Overall the class is interesting if you pay attention. She is very interested and passionate about her teaching, which is both good and bad. The topics are very odd or uninteresting. It can be an easy A class, if you actually go to class. As a teacher, she seems very hard to approach or debate with.
Prof. Woulfe acts as if she is extremely strict and a tough grader however, if you show up and pay attention you will do fine. One exam the whole year (a final) and a bunch of written pop quizzes. You HAVE to read to do well and if you pay attention, you'll do fine in Woulfe's class.
So opinionated. Don't talk against her and you'll be ok. All pop quizzes
Truthfully, the worst professor I have taken at this University hands down. Extremely rude to students on a regular basis. She is unbearably biased and opinionated and her strict and stern teaching methods are very unpleasing and much of her material is very outdated. Would never recommend under any circumstance.
She's a very capable professor. But, depending on the type of person you are you will love her or absolutely loathe her. She is an over the top liberal. Beware of over zealous social justice pandering and dismissal of anything other than that. She is an absolute caricature and hypocrite. Be open minded and think freely my rear end.
Who said she's rude? strict? I really liked this class and her teaching. There are 5-6 quizzes, 1 midterm, and final essay (I don't know if it'll stay this way though); she is a fair grader; if you attend, and listen to her, you'll do fine; I did readings, nothing impossible; There wasn't 1 point where I disagreed with her ideas; Learnt a lot!:)
I think Professor Woulfe means well, but she tries to be so intimidating all the time. The class is pretty interesting and easy, but she really is a chore to be around sometimes. She constantly gives crazy eyes and makes you feel like youre always doing something wrong. Easy class, easy work, but dealing with her is the most challenging part.
Seems scary, but shes actually very nice, just read and pay attention in class and you'll pass with flying colors
She's big on respect, no phones or talking. Memorizes students names, if you participate she'll like you. Has a sign in sheet. In class quizzes are easy. If you pay attention you don't have to read, she goes over everything in class.
I really loved Professor Woulfe. You get the most out of this class if you participate. She is willing and loves to discuss everything with her students. I found her to be an easy grader. 6 randomly assigned quizzes in class and the lowest dropped. The final is 100 questions but if you pay attention in class little to no studying needs to be done.
Professor Woulfe puts on a tough exterior and is really strict about respect. But once you get past that and talk to her more, she is a really lovely woman and educator. Her class is easy if you read the assigned material and participate. Random quizzes make attendance mandatory, but she drops the lowest one, and they're easy. Final is easy too
She's nice, playful, but strict. Teaches the material thoroughly in an interactive way. As long as you do the job, you can pass. She tells you everything you need to know. Gives random quizzes so know the material. Attendance taken everyday.
She's a wonderful professor. 6 quizzes and lowest one dropped. Easiest final and thats with minimal reading. Class can have awkward silence, and she gives an intimidating look. But overall, she's very sweet and open to heard others.
professor does come off as very intimidating, but once you get to know her, she is actually a very kind person. class consists of 7 pop quizzes, one is dropped and a final. You pay attention and take great notes, class is very easy.
Anne is a very effective teacher. She gives very good lectures. She gives a fair amount of pop quizzes though. Overall, a very good professor and an interesting class.
Beware of pop quizzes, they're very easy as long as you read. Midterm and final was multiple choice. Attendance is mandatory and she does not like people on their phones during class. She's strict about respect. She likes people who participate. Overall, I thought the class was interesting and I liked it more than I thought I would, it's eyeopening
Professor Woulfe is an amazing professor! In class and outside of class, she's a very intelligent woman. There are pop quizzes; however, it's not hard at all. Her midterm and final will be hard if you don't study for it! The questions are pretty straightforward. Her syllabus is a very good reference; she follows it.
LITERALLY THE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Her lectures are boring and dull. All she does is talk about things that literally do not relate to the class. I don't even know what the hell is going on at all. I don't even. know what I'm learning or what the objective of the course is. She is rude and god forbid you actually have an
Here is my continuation from the one below This is how passionate I happen to be about how horrible of a teacher she is Don't have an opinion, she will call you out and embarrass youShe has to be the worst professor I have ever had I don't even know how she has this good reviews being that everyone I know HATES her. I hate her don't take her plz
In all honestly I this has to be the longest and most boring classes I've ever taken at this University. Most of the lectures consist of her talking the entire 80 minutes and expressing her thoughts about racism and feminism. Also her class rules don't make sense, such as only being able to type your notes in certain rows of the classroom.
Its an easy class as long as you do what is expected. However, this class isnt meant for everyone. It seems as though she only teaches subjects that revolve around her political beliefs (she also digresses in lecture to speak about politics). Practically, as long as youre a liberal or can bite your tounge youll do fine.
Professor Woulfe's class has been the most boring one I have taken in my whole college experience. Although she has very good points and views on art and life, the way she lectures is utterly boring, as well as the topics she discusses, which are outdated and foremost don't connect with the current generation of students. Not hard to pass, though.
Go to class & look interested (even if you're not), take her quizzes, go to her office hours to see why you're not getting 5/5 on her quizzes. The readings aren't necessary unless you want to participate. We had an easy 100 q final and easy paper. As I oppose her side politically, she opened my eyes and I think that's what she cares about most.
Come to class, pay attention and do your readings you should be fine. She's boring and dull most of her work is outdated so its not relatable. My only issue is since the class is 3hrs long she drags the material which makes it very boring. the material is not hard at all though.
Woulfe is a good professor and wants her students to be successful however her class was almost 3 hours long and it was hard to focus the whole time. 7 quizzes, 6 graded, mid-term and non-cumulative final all very easy. Plenty of videos in class but plenty of at home reading to do. Show up, pay attention and you'll be fine.
if you read, you pass. if you don't, you won't. simple. she deals with social topics that are relevant today but relates it back to art. 7 quizzes, lowest dropped. 2 exams, non cumulative. decent amount of readings/videos but its doable. had her for 3 hrs once a week so plenty of time to read. also she has slides online that guide. straightforward
Prof. Woulfe was a very insightful professor. She wants everyone's opinions and participation, although not mandatory. She keeps the conversation going, and make sure you go to lecture, because the quizzes she gives you aren't able to make up if you miss, and they are a good chunk of your grade. STAY AWAKE!
Although Woulfe can be rude at times and has weird class rules (like having to sit in the three first rows if you're taking notes on a laptop), the course material was very interesting. You are graded on attendance, 6 "pop quizzes" even though you should just expect one every class, a midterm and a final- both multiple choice. Easy if pay attention
Woulfe is outstandingly rude and sees herself as a superior being to her students. Do not challenge her political opinions due to the fact that she will insult, embarrass and possibly lower your grade instead of actually having an educated debate on a topic. Woulfe's class is easy if you can bite your tongue and pay attention.
The most entitled & rude professor I've ever had. Class participation is a decent chunk of your grade, but you HAVE to completely agree with her political beliefs if you want to feel comfortable speaking out. She publicly ridiculed a girl in my class for challenging her opinion. Nothing to do with art and everything to do with politics. Don't do it
I took this class hesitantly bc of negative reviews but it was opposite. She was able to teach in a modern way so it wasnt boring/relate it to todays issues. The readings are interesting plus 2 test that are easy. She does give quizzes which worded could be confusing but half the time I have no clue what it means and still get 90+ on quizzes.
I've never met a more boring professor than her. Put me to sleep every time. Half the time she just reads off a book but doesn't really specifically explain anything. Unexpected pop quizzes the few weeks I've been in her class. I had to drop this class since it's going to affect my GPA. DONT TAKE THIS FOR ART GENED. Not an easy A class.
The professor is not the most engaging professor, but the content of the class makes up for it. This class was thought provoking and an easy A as long as you do the readings. There are 5 pop quizzes but she goes over all the material beforehand so theres no reason to fail. Took this class as a gen-ed and it is my favorite class Ive ever taken.
She is an ehh teacher. She sometimes has an attitude, but she will loosen her grip overtime.
Probably the easiest class I have ever taken. Theres a weekly discussion board post that has to be a minimum of 5 sentences. No lectures but each week she posts the material. If you just watch the videos/movies provided you'll get a good understanding. Only one test, the final, which was super easy. Highly recommend this class for a gen ed
I enjoyed this class. Professor Woulfe is very knowledgeable and fun. Pay attention in class, be respectful, do the work and you'll get an A.
Professor woulfe is a good professor the fact that she tells you whats going to be on the pop quizzes and on the test. But if you dont show up to class and read the material that she assigns , you fail.
I've never met a teacher who was less interested in what they were teaching. AARH 240 seems tantalizing for the gen eds, but do NOT take it. The 3 hour lectures are an absolute chore to get through, and will inevitable ruin your Wednesday.
Super easy class. I don't do any readings at home I just show up every Monday and ace every pop quiz we have. Super boring and long lectures but one of the easiest As you'll get. Just go to class every week and actually pay attention to what she's saying or what we're watching and you should pass every quiz. 8 popquizzes, participation, and final.
