If u fail this course with this ptof, entirely your fault. She goes through everything and answers all question.Make sure and do home work,questions on exams are similar. Breaks down material so you can understand,but lectures can get boring at times.

She is very strict in grading. Follow the syllabus to the T, she does. I is true that if you get a low grade the only way to boost it is through higher grades on the next exam. She doesn't curve. She is not clear on some main points so ask questions.

I started off in the class sleeping, but once I was able to stay awake, i did learn and earned a good grade. This lady is straight forward, very helpful, and overall a nice person. She tells you exactly what she expects and as long as you do the homework and follow her instructions you cant go wrong

One of those profs who are the real treasure to Baruch.Clear,smart,helpful,and on top of that-easy.Just come to class, take Very good notes and do the hw-promised A. She's extremely organized; she gives you everything you need to ace her open book tests. The only problem I had was attendance, which counts as 10% of your class grade. So if you can wake up on time for her classes, then take her.

Prof Gourgey is a good teacher. U bascially make ur own grade. If you take really goos nots, or if you make your own notes at home to bring for the exam, you'll do well. She is really strict on attendence since open book test yeild high grades, she need to be fair. If u have to take STAT and are not that good in math, take her. Fairly easy A.

I took the class in the summer and it was rather easy. I just finished Calculus III in the Spring, so it sort of felt like going back to 1st grade, but in a good way. She is a very nice person, and clear with her explanations. There was an excel project, which was rather simple, a midterm and a final. I got an A. Great teacher!

Great teacher and definitely an easy A if you bother to take good notes. Since she allows open book tests, just copy everything from the board. She gives cookies on the first day, and who doesn't like that? A little picky on the grading, but she explains the concepts well. Good choice.

Took her in summer and that was an easy A(you can tell it would be much harder in regular semester since she skipped a lot material in summer) However, 1 paper, 1 mid. term and 1 final and that's about it. A really dedicated profesor wants u to know the material and does not make u know the extra unessasary stuff. she gives out optional EC quizzes. with 3 exams including the final. Also inbetween there are article ananlasis paper.

Very nice and sweet Prof!! It's impossible to fail her class since she makes things so simple and clear. She is NOT like other Professors who tries to teach you the whole textbook. 3 fair papers and simple hw problems from the text. Attendence is part of your grade. Highly recommmended if you dont mind taking an evening class.

You can bring notes to the tests, however they can still be difficult so you must study also. But anybody should be able to pass with a fairly good grade. You'll LOVE her!

Easy class, don't have to buy the textbook, everything's on Blackboard. Dont even have to study since its open book. Don't have to do anything the A is handed to u.

She teaches the topic well, but you need to do a lot for this class. The HW is neglectable because it's only 4% of your grade, but she does collect it sometimes. If you pay attention you should do well, but you definitely need to understand the subject for the not-so-easy exams.

The prof. tries to help you understand Statictical concepts. Lots of useful handouts and solutions, which you have to read carefully to pass the exams. Overall great professor but very boring subject. Easy to get a good grade if you study the handouts and do homeworks. Recommended.

High school style teaching. Writes everything on the board and talks very slow so you can hear it SO well. She has a passion for stat, and her materials and notes are very useful. Ok she is like the best explainer ever. There is a bit of hw, projects and tests but she is approachable and an overall sweet lady. NOT LENIENT WITH GRADES THOUGH, and takes off points a lot since she is really picky. But its an open book test so I get itshe wants perfection. Her handouts are amazing and she doesnt move fast so we actually learn!

For her class, it doesn't matter whether or not you get the computation right, it's all about how you interpret it (to show that you understand the concepts) and how you apply it to the real world situation. A great professor. Highly recommended.

Yes, she is strict and biased with her grading and WILL deduct more points if you're not a favorite (which is random, not based on anything noticeable or substantial). The class can be boring, doesn't teach the subject well, but expects you to know it like you've been doing it forever. She let's you use 1 page of notes for the exams. Although she has a fun personallity she's an average professor.

I took her class during summer. It was a breeze. The textbook isn't necessary. All the questions on her test are base on her handouts. She gives nice simple examples. She may be a bit picky sometimes, but does give partial credit which is better than a 0. There isn't much work involved for this class. Just an easy project and 2 exams.

First thing to note is try getting the front or middle seats because her monotone voice could put you to disinterest or to sleep. Other than that, she's crystal clear on what she's teaching. Gives you the bare bones of what's on the exams. You'd be a fool to get lower than a B+, seriously. Blackboard handouts are handy to get you the A.

Given that there was a lot of material to cover in four weeks, the professors' clear and concise explanations in addition to helpful handouts on Blackboard really helped me pass with a A grade. Professor Gourgey is my favorite professor at Baruch thus far. She is very thorough with her explanations and she is the reason why I plan on minoring in statistics. Her tests are similar to her sample tests so make sure you completely understand the problems on the sample tests. She is also very understanding and accomodating.

Took over summer 2015. Material was much shorter and the professor gave review sheets and additional sheets that replaced the textbook. Exams were straightforward from the lecture and also handouts. She explains the topic thoroughly. Two exams in the summer. It was pretty easy because it was very similar to the notes and handouts.

She is not math focused but on students ability in understanding the concepts in life situations and being able to understand the numbers, which makes sense considering that we live in a tech world and stats is done on computers. I absolutely loved her. She is a really good professor, which is very rare to find in Baruch. I didn't do so well in the first 2 exams for my own reason, but her tests are very FAIR and she is a FAIR grader. You have to take her.

Kind, wholesome and straightforward professor who extremely knowledgable in the subject. As many other students may agree with, she is an extremely FAIR person, with extremely FAIR exams. You will find that all the material on her exams have been covered in class, and if otherwise, its because you skipped her class. Go to class, and youll do well

Professor Gourgey is a very fair grader. There are three exams along with several pearson tests you will also have to complete before the exams (which are very helpful). Her handouts are very helpful so there's no need to read the textbook, just make sure you pay attention and take good notes. Overall a very caring professor.

She's a very FAIR grader. Do the Pearson homework and quizzes (pretty easy). 3 tests and a final. Final was easy. Just go over the multiple choice questions she posts on blackboard and you'll be fine for the test. Loved her class

A majority of your grade is on 2 exams and a final. Be prepared to earn your grade. There is no extra credit, but the exams are multiple choice. If you attend class, you will know what the exams will be like. Be able to follow along and you will be fine.

A MUST TAKE FOR STA2000, her lectures are great and in addition, she recommends us to go to her previous students that are tutoring in SACC which helps tremendously.

I am an average of 3.4 GPA. I didn't do well because of my personal issues and didn't deserve to pass. Professor Gourgey is a nice person and professor. She tells you exactly what will be on 2 midterms and final. Con- too many papers on the blackboard are confusing. She is highly recommended. (But $1,000 extra hurts)

This class is extremely easy, and Gourgey truly cares about statistics which makes it all the better. It may be boring but fight through it because she is a MUST TAKE for Stats. Easy A and you learn a lot in the process. If you listen very carefully to her lectures, you do not even have to do the readings.

Prof. Gourgey was kind and clear from the beginning. She goes by the syllabus and doesn't do extra credit/nor gives extra time for HW since she gives you enough time to do them. It was a great class and I totally recommend this Professor for online classes. (I did poorly on this class because of myself not the professor).

She is great. Solid choice. Just very little hw every week. Very easy and straightforward. Her lecture is clear and understandable.

If you are going to take STA 2000 look no further. This professor goes about teaching the class in a very clear manor, if you pay attention in class it will save you a lot of time trying to figure out how to solve the problems.Challenging course (its statistics) but if you go to class and do your homework, study a good amount ,you will get an A.

Very passionate but quiet professor.
