enthusiastic, long essay writing exams
She's not bad at all, I've had better though.

if ur good at essay writing her class is a breeze, just study text
Very interesting and enthusiastic. Tests are kinda hard lots of essays
Its a theory, but she likes details, forgets big picture
Great prof. She KNOWS what she's talking about. (gotta study though)
She's a huge feminist, so do not say anything to offend her. Play off it.
nice lady...lots of writing in her classes
Shes a huge feminist
Annette packs her lectures with notes and great information. She loves theories and definately knows them well. Her tests are mostly essay/short answer based, but she does include definition and m/c. A good instructor.
Great teacher and knows her stuff!
good pessimistic introduction to social theory. a real smartypants.
worst.teacher.ever
She is a awesome teacher! Somewhat an easy marker, very clear, and friendly! She tries really hard to make class fun, and she cares about her students. paper, presentation and 3 tests
She is a great teacher. Generally an easy going marker, makes class interesting as possible, covers material well...a little one sided on certain sociological perspectives, but it doesn't really get in the way of learning.
she tries 2 make the class interesting, but her notes are scattered and out of order. she goes off topic alot on useless tangents. her tests are quite easy but u really need 2 understand material thoroughly. research paper, an exam and a final
I thought she was awesome. Really eye-opening, and challenging, and obviously loves what she's doing.
Very opinionated. A lot of reading and a thorough understanding of the material is required - she WILL discuss it in class - ALL OF IT! Her mid-term exams are very straight forward if you understand the material. She takes the paper a bit too seriously.
shes a great teacher. really knows her stuff. some group discussion, she really tries to mix it up. one group presentation, one essay, and 3 tests.
Excellent teacher! Teaches material thoroughly. Fair marker and fair tests... if you study you'll do well. She is opinionated but we're not kids anymore, we're university students and we should be able to handle opinionated teachers.
Annette is a really good teacher, her lectures are interesting and she explains the material really well. She tells you what to expect on the tests and drops hints throughout her classes.

Very good instructor. She knows her stuff and can explain it well. Tests are not easy, but if you put in the work, they are fair and it's possible to do well. Need to go to class, text can be hard to understand alone. I'd take her again.
unorganized and hands back stuff late, although likes you if you try or act like you do. she thinks she is a know-it-all, will create her OWN definitions for vocab, so listen in class...and ask questions. Brownie points are golden with this one.
I dont know why these students are calling her a feminist, just because she has opinions does not make her a feminist. She is organized and she has an outline which she follows and clearly gives her expectations ahead of time. 1st socio class taken good teacher and good class, recommend her,TAKEHER
DEF. NOT A FEMINIST!!..ppl are jus pissed off they got a bad mark..seriously very nice and helpfull..def. take her if u want to learn soemthing..test are only hard if u don study..everyone needs to stop their ****in and complaining..shes overall a really good teacher..just try your best! ^.^
Very nice teacher, not a feminist, people just write crap because they got a bad mark. Study for the tests and you'll do fine.
She's funny and gives really good notes. Her tests are only hard if you don't study. A great teacher although sometimes she cares too much about what pathetic, bitter losers think, If you have enough time to come on here and, whine about a teacher you have enough time to study and get a better mark!
Great instructor--neither a feminist nor a wench as has been falsely asserted. Approachable & refreshing. An easygoing marker, she tends to provide lengthy feedback on assignments. Prone to giving out "homework for the rest of your life." ;) My one & only gripe? Lectures go overtime 99% of the time!
very hard material yet she is an awesome prof who knows her stuff. tests are all essay. be prepared to work your bum off! best prof i have ever had in college or university.
Best Teacher EVER!, very clear, and makes the texts easy to understand. She gives really good notes, and NEVER makes you feel stupid. If you go to class you will do well and enjoy it. I would DEFINITLY take her again.
I didn't like her. I had her during a rough time in her life, so she may be different now. Little pro-women though. She said alot of untrue things that she tried to pass as facts. She is a fairly tough marker. REALLY study for her midterms. Everything is on it. Classes always run late.
Annette is a great prof. She really knows her stuff and tries to relate the material to her own experiences (which can be VERY interesting and funny). She gives lots of hints of what to expect on the tests. Shes an overall awesome prof and I will definitely take her class again. I recommend her alot
Good class, but she kept going off on her own little stories, they always ran overtime. The tests were pretty easy, as long as you studied. Overall not a bad teacher. A feminist, no matter what people here are writing, not a bad thing, just sometimes gets a little too pro-women for my taste. (and yes, I am a woman)

Annette is probably the best prof at Kwantlen. She is extremely nice and knows her stuff. People who complain just didn't study. She gives great notes to study from and 1235 was not hard, considering she gave us the questions to the midterm and the final in advance, how hard can it be if she does that? Stop complaining take some notes and study!!
She's doing way too much out of class stuff. Head of the Department. A real Busy Bee, but students suffer. Shame, cuz she could do better. Relax Annette!
nice, enthusiastic, encouraging and understanding
Super fun, energetic teacher presents her matereal clearly and gives you both sides of things not just her opinion. Tests are very fair, and she gives great feed back, and she gives great topics to write abopt. I would DEFINITLY recomend her! :) :) :)
Annette is one of the nicest profs at Kwantlen! Sometimes, I feel that she is a little TOO nice. She's pretty flexible with dates and often postpones them. Her classes are interesting and she is very encouraging and nice :) You should really take her class!
She is one of the most amazing teachers i have had. You do need to keep up with readings and class discussions, but her class, especially the Media studies course, is a class that all students should take to be informed about our society. She is very nice and is willing to help when needed.
Great teacher. Passionate about what she does, really great, lets you have your own opinion, apreciates different writing styles. Deffinitly recomend her, strong views, but also balences them with counter views too. Makes classes fun, Totally Worth the drive to Richmond. Be prepared to get a good grade and enjoy her class.
Annette is an amazing prof. I had no idea what to expect with this course and was pleasantly surprised. She makes an effort to keep her students interested in what she is teaching and try’s to make the driest of dry material interesting. She is really flexible with due dates and values all opinions
She is such an amazing prof. She knows what she is talking about and is very approachable for help. If you go to her class then you can get a great mark without studying the text too much. Keep up with the readings in the text book and the course should be a piece of cake!
Found the lectures boring, maybe it was just me... But she is really nice prof.
She has a really good HEART. Good teacher, can't go wrong with this one. Easy marker, but not too easy.
way too much work, too much to read too much to do
She lectures the whole entire period, but she's great at explaining and clarifying everything. Very lenient with duedates. Easy marker. Found her to be a bit opinionated though, she didn't really give students a chance to express their thoughts.
Annette is awesome! So considerate and always goes over everything id detail (you can still get a good grade if you just show up to class and never crack the texts open) Lovely lady
Excellent Prof! She brings to class a wealth of knowledge of sociological perspecitives/theories & incorporates education material to current issues of today. If you have an openness to learn and wish to expand your critical world views, than this is an excellent class. She is very professional and tactful in discussing sensitive issues.
Annette is an awesome prof. I had absolutely no interest in sociology before I took her class, and now, I want to pursue further in soci. I loved going to her class because she makes people think "outside the box", and its a good feeling. :) Shes a very fair marker, & cares deeply about her students. Good chunk of hw, but it what is school w/o hw?
Though the subject matter could be interesting, I had some issues with Reynolds' teaching style. As a student who already has a degree, I often felt that she was talking down to the class and treating them like high school students. It is certainly a first year class, and those who have taken upper level classes will not get very much out of it.
NICE lady.....helpful
shes not my fav
Keep up with readings! Very lengthy, but fair tests. She provides extensive study guides and they are very useful. Lots of notes and her lectures always run late. Very interesting prof, but also very opinionated. Three tests (one is a "take home test", term paper and group presentation. She is quite helpful...I am taking her again next semester.
Don't judge its book by its cover. She is very energetic and really committed to everything she teaches. if you have any questions, do NOT hesitate, she would love to hear ur questions. I love her lectures and everything she taught. Her lectures are mandatory, if you miss out its your loss, full of info. that u wouldnt even know. don't disappoint her!
talks too much.just do your readings and you'll get at least B for sure
She's a relatively reasonable marker. Some content is tough and she realizes that and marks accordingly. Her classes tend to be all lecture even in seminar courses. She lectures first and then does student presentations which often cuts people off and doesn't always leave time for everyone to go. Extrememly helpful though if you ask her for help.
If you go to her class and write down all notes she provides you can get an "A" without cracking the textbook. She baby steps her classes through everything. She is sweet, but too easy.
Second semester with Annette. It's impossible to do poorly if you attend class, take notes and review them for the exams. Her notes are full of everything you need to know. Assignments: midterm, research group project/presentation, term paper, readings, other short questions and the final exam (notes are allowed). Would definitely take her again!
all she does is talk AT the class. she treats the class like 12 year olds, and explains uneccessary things. in a SOCI class, she spend a whole class explaining how to write an essay! this is SOCI not ENG. she is EXTREMELY biased about everything.if a student has a differing opinion than hers, she freaks out, gets mad, and doesnt let the studend talk
She is a nice teacher. Understanding. But seriously need to work on keeping her opinions controlled. If a student says something she does not agree on she will verbally attack you and won't let you talk until she gets all of her opinions out. Likes to talk over time. Her class consist of 95% lecture. Probably wouldn't take her class again.
To add to this: she is also pretty cute in my opinion, I wish she was 20 years younger.
She's very nice and lucid, she does tend to repeat herself quite a bit. Some find her opinionated but i find her rationale plausible. I would take another class with her.
If you thought her class was hard, you are obviously an idiot. If you think she's opinionated, you are also an idiot. She goes out of her way to help everyone be successful. She's SO nice and her tests and assignments are more than fair and she makes it clear what is expected. It's easy to learn alot from her. Best prof I've had in 2 years.
The class material seemed interesting enough initially, but a poor dynamic between the students along with a seminar based format that she never seemed comfortable with, made the class terribly tedious. She is quite a liberal marker, and seems to genuinely care about the student's success in her courses.
test are basically common sense and if you just go to class and follow the notes you're gonna go fine on the test. However, she is very slow when it comes to marking and disorganized. The things that really pissed me off is how students go to hand in stuff late (like 2-3 weeks late?) w.o any late marks, and she canceled the class's final project
Annette is a geat sociology teacher, but a bit disorganized. Similiar to previous comments it takes her weeks to hand back tests. The layout of the class was a bit strange but manageable. Shes big on class participation and asking questions.
Super Nice, very understanding. She really knows her stuff and is one of the best sociology teachers!
Annette really tries to make class interesting by using current events that are relevant , also she gives incredibly clear directions to her assignments, and provides a study guide prior to exams. I would take another class with her in the future; she really opened my eyes to the world.
Annette is an amazing teacher! I took the intro course with her as well, as I wasn't too familiar with sociology at the time. I had such a great experience in that class that i ended up majoring! Very knowledgeable, helpful, not too tough a marker, and really nice :) You get what you put in, work hard and you'll do just fine in her class.
Anette is a very sweet professor. She clearly likes teaching Sociology: however, she is VERY opinionated and she underestimates Psychology. She is clearly against it.
taught myself the whole course. her powerpoints suck. her outlines for the tests are amazing. great person I really liked her just not one of the best teachers for my learning type
The subject itself is not hard. A lot of easy vocab to memorize. Annette though, enjoys giving a lot of homework and is a tough grader which makes the class a drag unfortunately. Good luck.
I took the online course. She is a good and clear teacher. She is very helpful and detailed to her students. But the class demands attention and a lot of effort. She's a fair to hard marker, and her assignments can take a lot of time ..
Annette is amazing! Course material can be dense but Annette does an incredible job making it enjoyable and easy to understand. Assignments and quizzes are great for exam preparation and an easy 1-10% to receive towards your grade. She is quick to respond to e-mails and welcomes questions and encourages online conversation. Take this class!
She is very knowledgable on the topic. But if you're taking the online class to go at your own pace cause you work fulltime, don't bother. In a typical week you read a 30 page chapter, 35 pages of lecture notes, a 10 page article, write a forum post, write a reply, and do a chapter quiz. No way those lectures fit in a 3 hour class!
Terrible teacher, very flustered and loses track all the time. Hard marker, almost 60% of course was assigned in the last 3 weeks of class. Is not very helpful. Wouldn't ever take her again.
Expect to spend a lot of time on the online course. A lot of reading and MANY movies week. However she is an easy marker and gives great feedback. Easy A if you put the time in. Also gives you the questions for the final ahead of time and you write it from home. Do not take this course to save time, it is time consuming
Annette was awesome! Online course was super clear, very well organized. Yes, there is work! just do it and you'll get an A, no problem! Very helpful and involved with the students! Loved her!
If you put the work into your assignments and tests you'll do good, She gives very clear outlines and lots of choice for the assignments and tests. Overall would definitely take her class again!
Painful course! 3 papers, 2 exams, weekly quizzes and a ridiculous amount of readings. If you are willing to give up all your time to get a good grade in this course then you might be okay but if you have other priorities and can't spend all your time on learning the material for the course then you will struggle. Boring lectures, boring material
Very lecture heavy, she talks almost all class. Very clear grading criteria but marks hard on her papers. All her lecture notes are available on the course website and she keeps the course website very easy to access with a lot of information. She gives you a very good chance to get a good grade as long as you put the effort in.
I took this class as a GPA booster and that was probably my first mistake. This class required a lot of work, however Annette had really good notes online, but most of the things are still based on the textbook so get one! Annette is also keen on class participation so she does grade you based on how much you participate in class!
Annette is a nice professor. She's knowledgeable and attentive. While her lectures are pretty content heavy, they are straightforward so if you attend all classes, keep on top of things and ask questions when needed, you should be fine. She can be a tough marker but overall is pretty fair.
I took this course online and just by Annettes attentiveness and feedback, you can tell she cares for her student's success and is passionate about sociology. The course consists of one discussion post a week, one midterm, one paper, and a final! If your interested in the content, this class is an easy A. I hope to take future courses with Annette.
Heavy reading if you're taking the class online. Weekly powerpoint and text reading, along with timed weekly quizzes&forum posts. A midterm and final with 3 long answer questions and an 8 page paper on theory. She is not super clear with the way she marks and we don't receive our grades till the end of the sem. Possible to do well but lots of work.
Annette was an amazing Sociology professor. She seems to really care about her students and is passionate about what she does. I took Soci 1125 with her online. Super easy! Weekly forum posts, weekly chapter quizzes and she gives you the criteria for exams as well. Exams are super easy. Read the material and participate and you'll do well.
I LOVED PROFESSOR ANNETTE REYNOLDS CLASS, SHE IS THE BEST. I am not just saying this for the fun of it. I am saying this because it is true. She is the best prof I've had for the past 3 years of college and, gives the right feedback. if you do your work, you will get your mark, she cares if you don't understand her work. Great prof!
Annette's SOCI 1125 was an average introductory class. The course (online) was asynchronous and consisted of textbook reading, weekly forum posts, quizzes, and exams. Her lectures were posted on the moodle site (powerpoints), and covered textbook material. I would have enjoyed the lectures more if they consisted of audio or video.
