One of the best profs. I have had in the nursing program so far! MDC needs more like her-she has a passion for teaching and it shows! Her explanations are clear and her examples relevant, and she gives worksheets and examples in class to help you grasp the concepts. A 3 1/2 hour class went by in no time! Overall, OB was the best experience at MDC!

Pretty lady from Jaimaica. Plenty students weren't crazy about her voice. She is animated & keeps class lively! But you might not want to ask questions if you are trying to understand a topic. She will say, "What did I just tell you" in maybe not the best way. Record her class. Teaches powerpoints. But study TEXTBOOK! I'd take her again.

Took her for math Pharmacology. This class is fast paced but not hard. Learn her method, trust me you will need it.It may sound silly at first but you will be glad you did. Very conscientious professor. willing to help outside class.I was at her office all the time for help. Thanks prof Tomlinson, you ROCK!!!

She sends practice assignments before every test and makes time to meet with you outside of class hours to go over those assignments! And please fill out the tests the way she asks you to! Best teacher at MDC. Only test you on what is covered in class. Everything that's on the powerpoint, make sure you go over them in the book. If you can record her class, that will help you a lot, since some of the test questions are things that she discussed in class. I wish MDC had more teacher like. TO me she's the best.

She's an awesome professor, she wants to see us all pass. She is very animated because she wants you to get it in your head. Really learn her method and you'll be great. And if you don't get it, go during her office hours, her door is always open for her students. Remember it's a journey, you'll have your up&downs but you have to keep pushing.

Her method:"the couple moves to the baseman because they pick somebody from the airport".... Watch out decimal places, don't overdose the patient . She screams and makes the most funny examples, she goes the extra mile so you can get it. Lovely person, always available, always has her door open for you and would definitely take it again.

Took her for pharm math during my first semester of nursing school and I must say I was very lucky to have her. Prof Tomilson speaks clearly and makes sure to get her point across, she would not stop until everyone understands her. She's Jamaican and people often confuse her tone of voice with "screaming." TAKE HER if you want to pass.

Had her for NUR1142 and made SURE to take her for skills for the following semester! Not only is she a great professor but she also has such a bright and funny character!! She made me crack up every time in class and she truly cares and wants everyone to learn

Try to record her lectures or just pay attention and make notes on ppts. Her tests are straight forward and if you reviewed notes, you will pass. HESI- Do Evolve!

Caring; Yells and gets excited in class but that's how she gets everyone's attention. If you pay attention to what she says and follow the advice she gives you, there is no way you can't pass. Prof Tomlinson is one of the best profs. Shes always well prepared for class. She gives homework before each test which prepares you with what will be on the test. What can I say about professor Tomlinson? I love her! She is god sent. I am terrible at math and she made me understand it! She's a fire cracker and her lecture will put a smile on your face. Her class is not easy but she has to be on of the most caring and most available professors in MDC school of nursing.

Professor Tomlinson can TEACH!! I learned so much in this class that I could write a book. She prepares you for success, her lectures are prerecorded, and she gives you work sheets. Listen to the recordings and then go to class and pay attention. If you follow these two steps, you will pass her class with no issues.

I had Prof. Tomlison for Funds Clinicals. She would check on us every now and then during the first two weeks and then we were on our own with nurses/CNAs, which I liked. She would teach us a lot during post-conference. She cared about our group a lot.

Easy class if you listen to recordings and pay attention in lectures! She can be kind of annoying and repetitive at times but she really gives you everything you need to pass. Got 90s on all her tests. Pay attention to the things she keep repeating in class they will be on the test. Gives study guide but sends it a night or two before.

The ppl that didn't pass are the ones who don't listen to the pre recorded lectures, sat in class and did nothing. This is nursing school not elementary school. Tomlinson is an amazing professor. This is coming from someone who study 3 days before her exams and got an A on the last one. Her lecture are her test, for OB LISTEN TO HER LECTURES!!! The ones that she puts on canvas & for peds record her in class lecture .you will pass! She is really good!

You have to work for your grade. Pay attention in class, write down what she says that is not on the slides (they show up on exams), record her lectures. I got 85 first & second test, 90 on final. Failed proctored ATI but managed to survive. Study its not that bad if you put in the work. Tomlinson is a handful but don't let her bring you down

She's amazing but for some reason she's never assigned a clinical site. So if you want to go to the hospital, take someone else. She lectured during clinicals because we were stuck on campus. We were at the simulation lab w/ the mannequins. Ask the department for a professor with an assigned clinical site

Had her yet again for clinical, this time for peds. She got assigned to a daycare. I switched out the same day she told us. I'd rather be at a hospital where I can see nurses interact with children. If I wanted to babysit kids I would've became a babysitter. Student nurses should be doing clinicals in a CLINICAL setting, not no daycare. Good luck

She yells A LOT and it can become overwhelming at times, I learned to not engage. She's very particular about how she wants you to learn each skill down to the amount of tape and the length of each tape.hardest thing will be learning to manually count drip factor. Once you get that the rest of the class is a breeze
