horrrible teacher ever.............dont take him
He's a great professor, but he's not one of those geeks who lives "out of this world"..he is pretty modern, likes to relate to the students, jokes in class (but in a very appropriate way), makes us (students) feel comfortable in class, doesn't think extremely highly of himself, very respectful to people.. He's just really cool! :)
I thought we was every boring...very unfair....forget abiut finding out want you did wrong or right on a test because he dosen't give back....or go over in class
I had him for world and U.S history. He is one of my favorite teacher at the school. I love history and it was nice to have a teacher that enjoys his job. his lecture are very interesting and he adds some fun facts that u don't see in the book. he seems to be very well versed in history. i'm only disappointed it's a quarter system and not semester
He loves history but hates his job. He will not allow recorders, computers, etc. You better take great notes because if you miss one word he says you will not do well. His tests are 40 questions and only on notes.
The worst teacher ive ever had. he acts as if he does not want to be there. not very student centered and is not easy to approach or talk to. i felt scared at time to even talk to him and when i did talk to him he pretty much answered as if i was bothering him. a complete a**hole.
Doesnt seem to like his job, but if you pay attention, you can get a good grade. Just take good notes and study when you can and you can get an A
This teacher is terrible! He never used the book not even once. all his notes are verbal so if u miss something youve missed it and he wont go back. he doesnt respond to emails. he made this class terrible for me the only c ive had in my college career came from this stupid man

I took his online class and it is not for someone who needs to work during the week. The entire online class failed the first 40 multiple choice quiz and his answer was to add essay quiz during the week. His test are very hard and subjective. He said he does not like to give grades, you are on a point system, good luck figuring the system out!
I took him for HIST 2112. He obviously does not want to teach. He gives absolutely no feed back. He is only interested in seeing how many people he can flunk. I highly recommend staying away from him. He has this point system but does not really explain it.
When you see his name run! He is impossible to make happy, and impossible to get thur his class without pulling your hair out! He isn't very clear on what he wants, and give no feed back on what to do if he doesn't like an essay, or how to improve in his class. Worst professor EVER!
RUN - almost impossible to pass his class. I had a C & was doing better than the majority of the class! Not helpful on anything!Better off just not taking the class if you have to take him. It WILL kill your GPA!
Consider yourself warned. Say good-bye to your 4.0 because an A is impossible. Picky, petty, and arrogant. Tests and quizzes are during the week so you can take them online when you are brain dead after working all day.

While in his history class on line more than two thirds of the class dropped this professor. I worked harder in this class than any other class during my 3 years in colletge. I made a 3. Words can not describe the emotion that comes to me when i think of this man. He dropped me from his class on the third day after i had already been to 2 classes marking me as a "no show" after i bought the expensive textbook and studied 3 hours for a quiz i wont even be able to take. RUN!

He does not provide help and clarity when you ask him. He rushes through the lesson, and keeps showing pictures instead of giving the information we need to focuse on. He is very strict. He will mark you absent if you left early for some important reasons. He lies about when he will give a quiz. He does not put your grade in the gradebook on angel.
this guy is something else. never really had a problem with him class was straight forward, but reading or videos he gives out are NEVER review in class. and i know i never got below a C in any of his quiz or test but he gives me a D. if you come after roll is called your late its an absent and if he will take off points if you dont show up.
Awesome teacher! Easiest class I have taken at chatt tech. As long as you read the notes he gives in class you will ace the tests. Not very helpful but the tests were made for a 5th grader. Follow his rules and you won't have a problem. Break the rules and you might as well run. Truly passionate about history. Overall great teacher.
Run! This guy is ridiculous. I dont know if he is just trying to prove a point or what. I have made straight As for the past two semsters. I study hard for this class but you would have to write the book to answer his random essay questions.
I absolutely love his class. Yes, he is strict about cell phones and any other electronic devices, but I can understand why and do not find a problem with it. His lectures make the class very interesting and he knows how to keep you awake. I am currently taking two classes with him and I would definitely recommend him to other students. :)
I am taking his online class. He make this class much harder then it needs to be. I am a history major at another four year college and none of my other history class have ever been this unclear. I feel like his has something to prove at the cost of his students. Don't take him online!
This teacher is very disorganized and does not explain things clearly. His grading scale is very confusing and changes throughout the class. Stay away from this teacher.
Mr. Fields does not tolerate foolishness, e.g. cell phones in class, talking, tardiness, absences, etc. He makes this clear on the first day and is consistent with his expectations throughout the course. If you come to class, pay attention and take notes, you'll do well. If not, you will fail. He's not there to hold anyone's hand. It's that simple.
I am taking the online class and thus far there is no direction on what to study. He is ruthless, there is only quizes and tests and all you do is read the text book. His slide shows reiterate what the textbook says verbatum. DO NOT take this class online. Its like he thinks everyone is out to cheat!

but when e first started teaching he would talk to kids in class about the content and grades and we would find he made many mistakes and did not go over or elaborate any part of the test when we took it he now doesnt talk about it in class because he knows were going to call him out and find he did a bad job anyway i cant believe he still works
Mr. Fields is a serious teacher, no cell phones, no tardiness, no nonsense. To most people he can come off rather mean, but he's just very sarcastic. He LOVES history and is actually quite funny. WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING HE SAYS EVEN IF HES SAYS NOT TO. He is an enjoyable teacher if you're willing to learn and actually pay attention.

He is the WORSE teacher at Chatt. Tech. The class is nothing but lectures and tests he doesn't drop your lowest test grade and he doesn't give you any type of extra credit if you might need it. His lecture are horrible and the power points are too.I would NEVER take any class that he is teaching.
I think Professor Fields is a good professor. Several students in my class complain about him and his teaching styles however I have an A in the class. I don't know maybe they are not taking the right notes or not reading the text because I get good grades while other people are failing. It seems like it is them, not Professor Fields. Good class.
Mr. Fields is one of the best History professors in Chattahoochee Technical college. If I can have my way, he would be my proffesor of everything at Kennesaw State University. :)
Overall, I just barely passed this class. Mr. Fields as a teacher is decent but his mannerism and approach to the students needs is lacking tremendously. He will make you suffer if your class decides to pull out electronics during lecture. Take my caution seriously when I say " Look for another option other than this guy, he isn't worth your Money.
Worst teacher I have EVER had. Rude, fails students on purpose, doesn't use textbook. His lectures are confusing and he never goes in order of material. Emams are extremely difficult even if you study. I withdrew from his class after 2nd test. Can't stand him. Taking his class would be a mistake!

A very serious teacher with strict guidelines to follow an online class by. The class was made harder than it needed to be. Essay quizzes are a SHORT 20 min!
This teacher is the worse teacher you could take for the online class. He doesn't give No explanations, no guidelines, he doesn't help at all.worse of all he doesn't give notes, nor power-point for the course.
Mr Fields is a boring teacher. He gives no study guides for tests (which are 5 btw). So you must take notes over his lectures and that's you're study guide. There are 5 map quizzes which are pretty easy, but if you get a fifty he'll automatically give you a zero. A quiz dropped me from 89-80. during the last few weeks, he didn't care about class.
You were given 20 minutes to write an essay each week on a previously undisclosed topic. Maybe it's just me, but I felt like that was never enough time. Even when I was confident in my responses my scores were terrible. I am an A and B student, but I failed his class. Maybe he just isn't meant to teach an online class.
He is the worst teacher in ctc. Don't dare to take his class for world history. He changes his mind within frequent of seconds. You will need write an essay for every exam on the spot topic will be known.
I have read all the other reviews and I wonder if people just expect an A for going to class. He IS HARD but is completely clear cut on what he expects. If you do the work, and have read the material, you will do fine.I have emailed him and he responds and has been helpful. I like him, but I expect to have to do work and so far I have an A in it!
Mr. fields is a great teacher, he is an incredibly hard grader on his essays, but if you pay attention, you will do well. I have enjoyed his class a lot. He uses powerpoint, but without words on the screen, he speaks, so you have to pay attention. His tests are almost all about what was said in class. I'd take him again if I could.

His lecture's are FASCINATING. I loved how much I learned. His multiple choice tests are easy af. He HATED class phone use, so he started giving essays to write during the exam + he graded them mercilessly. I tried getting help and he was unhelpful. He ignored how hard I worked all semester and instead cited the one time I fell asleep in class.
If I were you I would never take a class with him. clearly the worst professor.
If you adhere to the syllabus you will be fine. His exams are based on the lectures so take good notes. Even on movie days. They'll range from multiple choice to fill in the blank, with some essay questions. Penmanship is key. He will mark points off for sloppy handwriting. Do not get on his bad side, your grades will suffer for it.
Class was described as "web-enhanced" which you would assume means something like 70% in-class, 30% online. Mr. Fields, on the other hand, teaches like its 90% online and 10% in-class. I can't say I've learned anything from his lectures that I didn't know already. Spent more time talking about Colin Kaepernick than we did the American Revolution.
I find Mr Feild to be difficult. He wants everything to be specific and does not acknowledge effort. I definitely would not take one of his classes again.

I would advise you to write down everything he says, even if he says not to. I made an A in the class but I recall that was one of the hardest A grades I ever made. 4 in class tests, 2 blue book assignments, AND SHOW UP EVERYDAY. DO NOT MISS A CLASS. TAKE DETAILED NOTES. VERY DETAILED, LIKE VERBATIM WHAT HE SAYS. That's all.
Do not take him for Online History. He thinks all the work you turn in is Plagiarism. I had a meeting with him because he gave me a 0 for a DB and all the points he made were irrelevant and aimless. What was so bad was that I didn't even plagiarize and I got accused of it. He recommended I drop his class, and I did. Best decision ever. Beware!

He has bad power points that are not helpful at all, doesn't help students with questions and is really rude. So sad. I made a mistake choosing this professor. A grave mistake.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. He does not care for your success. I worked hard in this class and it wet totally unnoticed. He stopped teaching us and made us watch videos. Those were hardly helpful. I took Mr. Fields and he's by far one of the worst professors I've ever had. He can be a funny guy sometimes but he does not care to help his students. I've never received anything below a B in any class except for his and I tired my absolute best. He thinks everything you do is plagiarism and he's very rude most times.
He was just there for the check . He taught two lectures and the rest were filled with awful us history videos that could've been watched at home . He never graded anything til the grade book was closing and believed everyone in the class was cheating . The textbook never corresponded with our class notes often making us do double the amount needed
Avoid this professor at all costs. He is unorganized & lacks professionalism. You will not learn a thing from him & you won't know your grade until the school makes him put them out.

If you are looking for a bare-minimum type of class, this is not for you. His class itinerary is based on power-points stating only key terms. He lectures in interesting detail, and he knows and loves the subject he teaches. When lecturing, it is crucial to take thorough notes as his exams come straight from in-class lectures. He grades tough.
This professor is honestly terrible. I took his online class and haven't known my overall grade the entire semester. His online course was easy but if one assignment was missed your grade would drop a good amount of percentage (from what I saw on this site he uses for homework). Would not recommend taking.
I think he's cool ( and VERY attractive, just saying...I'm only human!) But yeah, he's a tough grader, but he means well. Its a tough world out there, and he's just trying to prepare us...k? :)
He was one of the best professors I've ever had (and I've been to a real college before). His expectations are clear; his lectures are helpful; and he makes you learn alot about history. If you're griping about him and other instructors like him, then college isn't for you. (I hear ITT Tech. is pretty easy if your credit score is good.)
I have him now for the summer classes and I think he is a really good teacher. He expects the most out of his students. I agree that it is ALOT of work and he is a hard grader but I have learned so much from him. I would suggest is to record his lectures and go home and listen back to them and take notes. It helps so much. He is also kind of funny.
I took this class online and I was miserable I work along with going to school and he practically expected us to check the class everyday.. with a schedule like mine thats impossible also never really sent out anything specific to study just constant tests.

When I took Mr. Fields for World History online, I struggled to understand the information. But when I had him for U.S. history in class, I really enjoyed the class. It was an 8 week class so he pretty much taught the required information and went through it pretty quickly but it was all very interesting and easy to understand.
He dos not give any notes. All the assignments are through launchpad so I am not even sure he even knows what we are learning. He gave me a zero for a discussion board without leaving any feedback. The one on campus assignment is an exam. He did not give any notes or anything to go by to study. I made a 27 on the exam. AWFUL professor.
If I could go back in time just to select another professor I would. It seemed as if he was making up the rules as he went. His grading procedures are not very clear. Save yourself some headache.
You will be better off just buying the book yourself and reading it in your free time . You would think that would be a good thing but his lectures didn't coincide with what our textbook homework was. He accused us all of cheating multiple times. the highest grade I got from him was a 80. The 2 and half hour long assignments were piled on as well.
Very little supplementation to the online publishing software. Bragged about being a harsh grader. You can pass but you will have to do it without an instructor. Does not engage with online students and seems to let the class run on autopilot. Very curt in the few times I was in contact with him. Vague rubric and grades DQ on personal preference.
He's tough but if you follow his rules and pay attention in class you'll be fine. In the discussion and essay questions on the tests he's looking for you to show you understood what he was talking about in class. Everything else is cake. Don't fall asleep and don't take your phone out.
Prof Fields has amazing lectures but he is a very harsh grader. Thankfully his tests are online but you must write down EVERYTHING he says because his notes on the board are very minimal
He gets straight to the point but grades really harsh. If you misspell the right answer it's wrong. No multiple choice, homework, or classwork. Just tests and a project. He also posts nothing of help on blackboard. Get in a study group and pray that you pass!
I took this class online. Most of the quizzes, homework, and tests came from the book that we used. The only reason I rated him poorly is because we had two discussion posts that I feel I did very well on (typed up over two paragraphs) and followed all of his guidelines for the discussion posts but he still gave me a 80 for both of them.
Misspelled words wrong answers. Highly recommend audio recording his lectures. Thats all you get to study from. Get the class to start a GroupMe study group. The whole class needs to work together to survive! Our class started out with 20 students and by the time of the final there were 5 of us left. If another teacher is available, take them!!!
Honestly the worst professor i have had so far. Since its an online class i was trying to communicate with him because I was having problem with my test i was taking but he never replied to me.

Please get another teacher, because he doesnt respond to his emails as he should. Mr Fields thinks everyone cheats so for that reason I failed his final but passed his class still. During this pandemic he is without a doubt someone you cant rely on for help. Please find another teacher. Im warning you guys, because he doesn't care about his job.
Mr. Fields would take way too long to respond to emails. I was passing his class for about the whole semester and after the final he dropped my grade to barely passing. He assumes you cheat if you make good grades on your tests. I still remember most of the content since I took US Hist junior year of HS. I wouldnt recommend this teacher.
I took his 8 week course and it was about 1/2 the regular course load-not overwhelming. Sends email reminders for upcoming tests. All tests are assigned at the beginning of the semester so you can work at your own pace as long as you complete your tests by the due dates. 2 attempts per test. EASY A

This guy straight up sucks. He doesn't respond to emails, he doesn't give any kind of recorded lecture or anything like that. I apparently paid tuition so that this guy could tell me to read the text book. Quizzes are a straight up joke, they are more often than not only 3 questions so if you miss even one, you fail the test. Do not take the class
The few of his lectures that I attended were so informational and I learned a lot from just sitting down and listening to his speak. Graded participation is a no-show assignment and two discussion forums (gave me a 100 on both discussions). Chapter assignments are like 3-4 questions each (easy A's). Exams are 60% of grade but they're all online ;)
Horrible and not responsive. Had an issue with a test where I went about a paragraph into detail. His response was "Thanks for the email" then gave me a 30/100 on the written portion of the exam. The entire class made 20-40's on that portion as well because we "didn't follow his instructions". They were not clear FYI
Do not take this class with this professor, he takes entirely too long to respond to emails. I sent him multiple emails regarding one of the two exams in the class, which by the way are 60% of your grade, and I did not get a SINGLE RESPONSE. Very unclear instructions when it comes to writing portions of his exams, please find another teacher. :D
Honestly, if you have a chance to take another professor- DO IT! He is an awful professor. The writing part of the tests is horrible. Not enough time and I lot to answer. If you want a good grade, don't take him. He will make sure that you won't get a good grade.
The quizzes and discussion boards are easy but the test are 60% of your grade.He will put a timed writing portion where you write a ESSAY in a HOUR that he does not prepare you for and will grade you a10-40%bringing your test grades down dropping your grade A LOT. Talking/emailing to him gets you no where either BTW unclear instructions for test.
He was a gret professor. He is very easy and cars a lot about his students. If you fail his class, you are not college material, learn a trade like HVAC repair. Excellent teacher.
His whole class is pretty much just lectures but he explained things in a way that were clear to understand and knew what he was talking about. The discussion boards, quizzes, and final are not that hard. It's overall pretty simple and laidback. If you ever need help, there's quizlet.
His class was an easy A, he's attentive that everyone understands what he's discussing in class. Took him for HIST 1111, and HIST 112. I recommend taking any of his classes. You do have to keep up with the chapter assignments, and discussion board because those will bring your grade down quickly.

The online class is given textbook sections to read for every week folder and then a test at the end of each folder. Tests aren't hard. In addition, we had 2 total discussion questions in the year.
Mostly online class only went to class one day a week and attendance was not mandatory. Gives good lectures and is pretty funny. Just read the power points and watch the videos and it's a breeze! I would recommend him if you are in search for a course that is easy. Only graded on weekly quiz(s) and very few discussion boards.
Best professor I've had at Chatt Tech. Super funny, super chill, great lectures. Hope to have him again someday.

Meh. Just Meh. No type of lecture PowerPoints or anything, he just tells you to read the textbook which is crazy to me. 1 discussion post every 3 units and 1 review homework assignment every 2/3 units. Chill easy class if you're ready to read the entire textbook cover to cover. Took 3 days to answer my email at beginning of course.
