Mr. Akers does love teaching! He repeats things a lot, and he grades pretty hard on papers. He is a very nice guy and knows what he's talking about when it comes to Literature. If there's a problem, he is glad to help. The whole class is analysis of different types of literature...and that is just not fun!

Easily the best teacher I have ever had. Made doing a 5 page paper enjoyable, because I was learning about things that he had made interesting. Grades fairly, and is available outside of class, and will always get back to you. If you have an elective spot open and you aren't sure what to take, or need to fulfill a humanities requirement, take this.

I had this class live online and it was the best experience ever! He has a unique teaching style and made each week interesting and kept the workload minimal. I loved his class and passed it easily. I do not recommend anyone besides Mr. Akers for Intro to Humanities. You will not regret taking his class and you will enjoy learning with him.

Professor Akers had amazing lectures. You have to take notes to pass, but he goes over all information you will need. He does talk slowly so some lectures are longer than they need to be and unfortunately they are through Canvas so you can't up the speed. Other than that the course is very manageable, but do not procrastinate on the final paper.

I had Professor Akers for Introduction to Humanities 1020. While I didn't like him very much in the beginning of the semester, Professor Akers grew on me as I realized how passionate he was about teaching. Some students are definitely not into his lectures (repeats a lot of things), but other than that, he is probably my favorite professor! :)

I loved his class. The only thing that was tough was that I took it online as a dual enrollment student in high school. In order to pass his 5-10 question quizzes, I had to take notes and watch videos that, in total, would take 2-3 hours of my time. His class is super easy if you just put in the work and watch the videos!

He was fantastic. The first teacher I've taken at EFSC that I would take again. He made videos for us to watch instead of reading from a textbook.
