Great professor. Simple explanations, full of energy. Great class!
Pretty damn good professor. Definitly in the one 1% of the better teachers.
Tony is a great professor. He's very energetic and always willing to help students on a 1 on 1 basis.

I took this course online so I cant rate this professor on a inclass basis. The online course is not easy. Exam's are very difficult and the online lectures in my opinion dont really prepare you for the exams. To do well, you must know the material inside and out.
Tony is an Excellent Professor! He gets to know each student individually. One of the above comments really frustrated me. Just so you know, Dr. Allred has had many Bussiness related jobs. He has owned his own business' for a long time! Ever hear of a Water Winnie?or BMW? He Knows what he's talking about! Take a class from him! He's Great! Oh, and it's "MIGHT as well teach." not "mide" Idiot.
One of the best profs at WSU. Knowledgeable, witty, personable, relates material to real situations. Energetic, sense of humor. Gets to know each student. Likes class participation-be prepared to discuss material. Skill oriented: you build a marketing plan throughout the class Fair, flexible. You’ll learn a lot from Tony. I highly recommend him!
I took this class online so my interaction with the professor was limited. However, my impression of him was that he wanted his students to succeed. The online lectures themselves are interesting and insightful, but the material for the exams comes right out of the reading. Read and understand the material from the text and you will do well.
He's the best! If you acctually want to learn about the subject your proffessor teaches, take from Allred. He requires alot from each student, but he helps you get where you need to go. One of the best Weber has!
Great professor would definitely recommend!
He is a very good teacher. His class is a bit challenging.
The tests are basically only on his lectures. There were maybe only 3 things that you had to look up in the book that were on the exams. He has you do a large marketing project which was the most demanding part of the class. Attending his class is enjoyable. I guarantee that you cannot laugh less than a couple times each class.
good teacher. He is passionate about what he teaches.
He is an amazing teacher!
Your marketing project will be over 20 pages long unless you take it online...then it will be nearly 10 pages. The smart choice is to take in online.
This guy is to concerned with his own ego to help any of the sutdents. Great professor right.... just ask him.
Dr. Allred is a cool and unorthodox professor. The book is used not as often, but as a helpful study aid. Although attendance is not mandatory, it's highly recommended as the material discussed is definite test material and is used on the semester marketing assignment.
Had the online class. Very easy to navigate and awnsers all your questions in the sylabus. Very organized and specific with due dates. Test were hard. Marketing plan wasn't that bad. I heard his online class is easier then his live class. Best online class I've ever had, not to say it wasn't hard.
Awesome teacher. I've now taken 3 classes from Allred and enjoyed everyone. His assignments are demanding and sometimes difficult, but they are alway meaningful.
He uses many great examples
Bad online class. Demands perfection and provides nothing in return. The book is three editions old and provides limited information on current essentials such as online marketing. Audio lectures were so old no player supported them and he never updated. Almost NO student interaction. Very picky grader, hard tests. Useless information.
Tries to keep you engaged with stories and examples. Your marketing project is huge, but if you go to class he tells you what to put in it, which cuts the workload a lot. Also, he will point out specific things to remember for a test in class as well. It requires effort, but it's no where near the hardest class I've had take. Just go to class.
Probably the most worthless person I have ever had a class from.
I've had professors that demand a lot, & I was able to pull off an A, but it's like this guy didnt realize I had 3 other classes to keep up with as well! He seems like a nice enough guy & will help with any questions, but he's both vague & strict. Bad combination. It just takes a TON of TIME & WORK. You need to know every detail of all 18 chapters.
He was one of my favorite professors. He really ties what he's teaching you into things you'll actually use in your career. It's a lot of work, but it is manageable if you don't fall behind. Hey you're in college, it shouldn't be cake and at least you're getting your money's worth. I'd take his class again.
The tests are fairly difficult:covers a lot of material mostly on info from powerpoints in class. There are 3 written assignments from the book and 2 big projects: a day in the life of a salesman and a class sales presentation. I liked the way he teaches but it was too much work due toward at the end of the class. I studied a lot and I'll get a B
Great professor! If you take good notes from his lectures (write down any examples he gives) you'll do good on the exams. The marketing plan seems like a lot of work at first but if you don't procrastinate it's not that bad. He's always willing to answer any questions and his lectures are fun and the stories he tells sometimes are so funny
Phenomenal teacher. Just keep up with the marketing plan and you'll do fine (seriously, don't procrastinate). His lectures are engaging. Take good class notes for the tests.. I had him last semester, and when I picked up my marketing plan this semester, he even offered to sit down with me and seriously discuss it, for my own benefit. Great guy!
One of the best at wsu!
Yeah, it's a tough class. But if you study and attend class, you will pass easily. I'm not sure if I will get a B or an A, but either way.. I learned a lot in this class!
One of the best professors I've ever had. He keeps assignment difficulty to a minimum and still gives you a very effective learning experience. The exam material is very managable and comes straight out of the book.
Tony is the man. I had him for MKGT 3200 as well and I learned a lot. It's not an easy class, but you will learn a lot.
I took this class online. Professor Allred is a fair grader. The assignments were not too difficult. You do have to read to be able to get good on the assignments. The test were hard because there was no review. It would have been helpful to know what to study. He did grade on a curve which helps.
3 tests that covers 6+ chapters of the book. You have to follow a sales person and write a report and do a class presentation at the end of semester. I thought it was a bit of work, but I learned a lot following the sales person and writing the report. He likes long papers, so write tons and you'll get a good grade on the papers. Great teacher!!
Took the online course. Assignments are easy, tests are hard. His video lectures are incredibly long, can be quite boring, and don't even prepare you for the tests. Must read the chapters and do practice quizzes to do well on tests. Overall, not terribly tough, but takes up a bit of time.
He has three tests and one marketing plan he has you do in this class. Tests are based on notes so if you take good notes you should be okay. The last test the average score was 69% because he wasnt very clear on what it was going to be on. Just take good notes and you should be fine :)
Tony is a down to earth, respectable guy. My initial impression of him from prior online classes was that he was somewhat arrogant but in a classroom setting he is very cool. The entrepreneurship class was informative and drew from his real life experiences. You have to work for an A but I completely agree with that. Definitely an effective teacher
I really enjoyed this class, the lectures are interesting, Allred usually talks about his past experience so its easy to remember the concepts if you attend class, Marketing plan is huge. Do it along the way and get as much help as you can. Its 100 points.
One of the better classes i have taken test are difficult but going to class was enjoyable has a good personality and keeps you interested in what he is talking about
Tony is a great teacher, but you have to spend alot of time studying. Even than his tests can still be quite difficult. DO THE BUSINESS PLAN AS YOU GO.
He is the professor to take for Mktg 3010. His tests aren't that bad, his lectures are informative and entertaining, and he grades fair. For the love of all that's holy, however, work on that marketing plan all semester long and DON'T PROCRASTINATE! Otherwise your last weekends in class might suck. Good professor overall.
Ive attended WSU for 4 years and he is by far my favorite teacher. That doesnt mean I got an A. He teaches the material off powerpoint and past experiences. Explains as clear as he can so that his students understand and even opens it up before lecturing for questions. Read your notes every week and do not procrastinate the marketing plan.
Attended the early morning class and stayed awake each time. I read my text once. Take notes in-class and pay attention because he will give answers to test questions occasionally. The marketing plan is a beast. Take it one bite at a time. You must provide excruciating details to get an A on the plan. Mine ended up being more than 20 pages.
great guy, will keep your attention. While it is not rquired th you nd the classs, the class would be very hard if you don't. Make sure that you work on the marketing plan all throughout the semester. Only thing I did not like was that the testest were only open for one day.
I would not recommend this to a friend. The lectures are good and informative but his assignments and test are really hard. He is strict on grading and his assignments require HOURS and HOURS of work. I wouldn't recommend him for that reason unless that is the only class you are taking.
I took his online class. He has assignments due every week, but they're nothing too outrageous. He is really nice and willing to work with you if you're struggling, however NO LATE WORK is accepted so you have to stay caught up or work ahead. There were 4 exams which he provides quizzes to help you study for. I would highly recommend him.
Very amazing class. Didn't use much of the text. Tests were mainly on the lectures. You could read, but some of the questions won't make sense. Work on the marketing plan over the semester. Makes things a lot easier.
I took MKTG 3010 online with Allred and it was good. There was some busy work but doable. I took MKTG 3200 from him in a class lecture and it was rough. Its a hard class and I never really knew what to study but he was very willing to help me out and I was able to pull a decent grade. This is NOT the class for you if your unwilling to go to class.
You have to read 2 chapters each week, but you can skim them. Assignments due every week but they are't too bad. The marketing plan isn't bad either. It's split into 4 parts, due every few weeks. Exams weren't too bad, and he offers extra credit quizes. Lecture videos were interesing and entertaining. Overall I was happy with this class.
His lectures are really fun and interesting. I took the 7:30 class and had no problem staying awake. He is a bit of a tough grader but it isn't terrible. I would recommend this guy to anyone!
Best professor I have ever taken! He explains the material in such a way that even someone who hates marketing would love it after his class. I wish I had the time and money to take every class he teaches. The only thing bogus about this guy are his tests. They are pretty tough. Still, best experience you'll have at Weber State!
I took this class online and loved it. The professor is one of my favorites so far. He is very quick at responding and very helpful. This class does require a lot of work and time but is not terribly difficult.
Just make sure you knock your big project out early in the course and you'll be fine. good teacher. fun. good at explaining and making things relate-able and interesting
Professor Allred was great. He made me consider marketing as a major I liked the class so much. His lectures are great, very interesting and hilarious. His tests are pretty hard but doable if you go to class. However the marketing plan will kill you if you procrastinate. Do the plan weekly and go to class and you'll pass easy.
This was my 2nd class from Dr. Allred. I love his classes. His tests require you to use your brain (what in college?) but they are not extremely hard. He gives you plenty of test prep material to study. There are two BIG assignments that take a lot of time and require dedication, but they aren't super difficult.
This class was an easy A. However, be prepared to put an immense amount of time into the sales person critique assignment. Mine was 30+ pages. Exams are easy if you can memorize most of the slides.
Amazing professor. He truly loves what he does and that is conveyed in his lectures. I would recommend taking him to anyone. Even if your not considering doing a business degree, it would be a great elective. I learn so many things in this class. His assignments require a bit of work, as long as your detailed, you should be fine.
Allred, is a good professor who keeps lectures interesting and enjoyable! He gives real life examples. The only warnings I have for this class is be prepared to study and work hard. One assignment, business plan (huge paper), mines 30 pages, with little information on how to write it. 3 Exams, they are very hard all memorization from lectures.
Tony was a great professor. Class is nothing but him lecturing the whole time which he is good at, he keeps you entertained. All lectures come from the book. No homework however you have a HUGE marketing plan that is due at midterm and finals that he gives you little info on how to do. 3 tests, HARD. Write down every word he says or else..
He's a nice person, but he is conceded. He does not take his evaluations seriously (he always makes fun of them). He assigns a huge paper (32 pages for me) and gives LITTLE clarification. We had no idea of his expectations till we turned it in. He gets side tracked a lot. And you HAVE to be in class. He puts lots of in-class examples on the test.
Tony Allred is a fantastic professor. He is an incredibly intelligent, knowledgable professor who expects a lot from his students. He descriptions of marketing principles are fantastically detailed. He is willing to help on the 32 page marketing plan one on one, don't sweat it! Awesome guy, WSU is lucky to have him, class is very valuable to career
Expect a lot of reading. Hw, quizzes (extra credit), and exams are derived from the book, so pay close attention to each vocab. HW isn't tough. He has you do a marketing plan broken into 4 parts (graded by a few things). Quizzes are extra credit! Amazing opportunity.. Exams are a bit tough. Study by reading the book consistently and precisely.
We only had maybe three assignments to turn in but they were HUGE!! He gave a lot of test questions in class as well as information on how to do well on assignments. It was a little harder than he made it seem when he showed us how he grades. Work at it and you'll get a good grade.
he is good professor. You need to work really hard to pass his class, when it comes to tests, double your work it's not easy at all, but I can also say it's hard, you need to read the book very well and everything in canvas. When it come to homework we had no idea of his expectations till we turned it in, and you will see he is focusing on details
The exams in this class are a little difficult. If you do not do the homework you won't pass the class. Overall, for being online, it wasn't that bad of a class. I would recommend taking this online. Tony gets back to students very quickly. Make sure you do the homework and you'll do just fine.
Tony is an awesome guy. He really knows his stuff and is a great professor. Don't rely heavily on the textbook because his test are practically identical to his lecture slides. Memorize those! Taking notes in class is critical!
This is my second class with him as my professor. Awesome guy. He really knows what he's talking about so he's enjoyable to listen to. Its a hard class, but the assignments are very beneficial. I'd recommend him to anyone in the business field.
Very good class, tough grader, super attractive professor
Great professor. Interesting to listen to. Tells you straight out what to know that is on the test. Challenging class, but do your homework and you'll be fine. I would recommend Allred to anyone. Super glad I took the class!
Amazing professor, he focuses on details, when you are doing the marketing plan, put in 20 details per section, that will get you your full points.
Tony was a good professor. If you show up to class and take good notes on all the concepts components and the application of each term you will get an A. All of the exams are based off of his slides so if you can remember the examples he uses with each term you will be fine. Marketing plan wasn't terrible just a lot of writing. But doable.
Tony is hilarious! He is very straightforward and has those personalities where you could love or hate the guy. I personally enjoyed his personality. He wants nothing more but for his students to succeed-- especially after graduation. He requires a 30 page Marketing Plan which is probably the biggest determination on your grade as well as exams.
Professor Allred is not a very animated Professor. I don't know how he is in his in-class courses, but this online course really seemed to drag on. Get ready to read; and by read, I mean you will read the ENTIRE textbook throughout the course of the assignments. He's not very passionate about the subject, so I really struggled with this course.
He's cool, but pay attention to the IN-CLASS slides because the CANVAS slides are not up-to-date. Have the slides up on your laptop and watch to see which you'll need to write down and which ones you do not. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT QUIZZES. As for the Market Plan, well, good luck lol as long as you put in the work you'll pass.
His exams are really hard for a marketing class.
His reviews do not do him justice. He is amazing. I've taken his MKTG 3010, 3200 and 3450 classes and got an A in all of them. It is possible. Go to class every day and be sure to take good notes. His tests aren't tricky at all. He doesn't throw any curve balls. Review the slides he posts and your class notes and you will be golden. Seriously!
Take the online course. At least then he will give you and example of the mktg plan. Lectures seemed unorganized and often random. He makes your work for the grade . Mktg plan is all about quantity not quality. I wasn't a fan of his "this is important speeches" also it was tiring listening to him degrade the millennial generation over everything.
Wont give you credit on marketing plan if not labeled and organized how he wants. He didn't really make that clear until the final plan. Would put random stories he decided to tell during class on the exam. Makes more work for himself by not giving a complete marketing plan example. I wish WSU had another professor teaching this. Don't take 730 cla
He's one of the best professors I've taken. He makes the subject matter clear and is knowledgeable He truly cares too.
Dr. Allred has a great understanding of the principles of marketing. Study the material, attend class, and take notes with quizlet and you should do fine in his class.
Exams are tough for a 3010 marketing course. Study, study, study!
This professor makes this course much harder than it should be, the exams are extremely difficult with a class average of 69 on most exams. Professor is not lenient with due dates, and does not put much effort into your learning experience. This Professor is extremely particular and difficult to get along with. I do not recommend this professor.
Professor Allred truly makes you work for your grade in this specific course. He assigns a long 48 paragraph sales person critique paper, which takes so much time. Aside from there not being many willing b2b sales reps to work with, It's overwhelming. I'd highly suggest getting on it on day 1, that is the only way I managed the assignment.
Prof Allred is someone you can easily like or not like. I love his class even though it is online. You can go your own pace and take the exams as early as you want to. I think that those who ends up not liking his class are those who didnt focus heavy on the readings which is what the exams are based off of.
Tons of busy work. Assignments covering 2 chapters of reading due each week, and 3 tests. Also he has you do a marketing plan that you do in 4 parts over the semester. Not an incredibly stressful or difficult class, but very time consuming and tedious.
If you are looking for a professor with an excessive ego, unrealistic assignments and a lack of teaching then you are in the right class. EDIT as I progressed through, and watched his lectures, I had a change of score. Yes, it's a bit excessive but he is intelligent and makes some valid points on a lot of topics. It was interesting to watch
Very lazy. Copy and paste feedback on assignments. They are not hard but it got to the point I just didn't bother reading feedback. It's usually just referred to the examples. Discussing with other students is cheating. The tests were not open and available to work ahead as the syllabus said. Easy class, a mediocre professor. Find someone else.
The online Covid-19 format was not great for this class. He provided lectures that we watched on our own time that were 2-3 hours long. There was little to no homework each week, so the basis of your grade comes from 3 exams, a group project, a sales cert, and a salesperson critique. Not hard, but not very worthwhile.
Professor Allred's class was composed of only 3 main assignments and 3 exams. We used video lectures you can watch whenever, they are a little slow so I just sped them up. Take good notes on those then attend the short exam review before each one and you'll pass. There is a long paper due at the end of the semester, get started early!!
He is a very smart business man, however, not the best professor. He posts online lectures for you to watch and they are very long. He is not clear with instructions and is often disorganized. There were 3 exams, one assignment, one group project, and one big final project. The final project you need LOTS of time to do, so I don't recommend waiting
I think professor Allred is a good professor. He has lots of assignments and does not really give good feedback. His video lectures are long and I wish they had corresponding chapter numbers with them. Most of what is on the test comes from the book.
Allred is pretty cool! He cares about your success and wants you to do well. With that being said his class was alright. Lectures were long and weren't very clear. The sales critique is the biggest project you will do. Get started on it right away. This class was not very demanding but it does require you to pay attention when it counts.
Tony is a fantastic teacher, and his material is challenging. Don't take his class if you want to scoot by in college. If you're a business major, you don't have a choice. Engage with the lessons, plan, and don't be afraid to ask him for help. If you do his class right, you'll have a great primer for a career.
Dr Allred was a good professor. Get ready to have marketing and advertising 101 hammered in your head. Imc project requires a good amount of work, so dont procrastinate.
He assigns like a four page essay every week, requires that you read a chapter every week, and watch his video lectures. His tests are unbelievably hard. Miserable class and hated every second of it.
Not a lot of homework, but the projects are pretty intense so do not procrastinate. Allred's class is easy to pass if students have personal responsibility and motivation. He is a very knowledgeable. The exams are not bad, everything on the slides and in the lectures in included on exams. There is nothing on the exam that he has not covered.
The project in this class is time consuming, but there is not a lot of other homework. Students need to use their time wisely when working on this project. Do not procrastinate. Exams are easy and he gives a study guide to the exams. No reason a student should not pass this class. The class requires personal responsibility.
Dr. Allred was a great professor. I really enjoyed his lectures even though they seemed kind of plain. Not a lot of day to day homework but he assigns projects due at the end of the semester that you should work on every week to keep up. Tests aren't bad if you study the study guide.
I wish I could leave a good review but I had to drop this class. This professor is completely disconnected from his students. We are expected to know everything in the textbook and in the video lectures, there are long assignments every week, & no direction for what to study for exams. Feedback was copy & pasted. If you can, pick another professor.
He is straightforward in his expectations. His tests are pretty difficult when you don't know how to study for his class. He often asks questions on the exam about his experiences in class. I cannot emphasize this part enough: USE THE STUDY GUIDE! Over all a good experience taking his course.
Too much work for 3 credits class. I think Tony thinks we are in graduate school. I wish I took that class from somebody else. However, if you really want to be expert in the subject, take it from Tony. He is really professional and class structure is very well. But I can't do that much of work.
I enjoyed Professor Allred. His exams were a little tricky with no notes, but the study guides are great. He threw out questions on the exams that most students missed. He required some group work, so make sure you choose a good partner. He tries to make the lectures entertaining, and aside from the course content, he gives good life advice.
I highly enjoyed Professor Allred. He makes class entertaining and truly cares about his students success. He leaves all of the assignments until the end of the semester so make sure you give yourself enough time because they are pretty big. Also get a good partner for your group project. Overall he is a great professor and I would recommend him.
Anthony is a professor that you either will like or will not like. His lectures are very rambly and seems to be out of touch with students. He has one huge assignment that you work on through the whole semester plus some pretty difficult tests. If you're not a good test taker, spend a lot of time studying out of the book and take really good notes.
There is a paper that is due at the end of the semester. Mine was 29 pages. There are very few assignments in this class so be prepared to do well on examines, if not you will fail the class.
Sales was a piece of cake. The reviews about the professor being disengaged with students confused me. Allred was caring and accommodating when I needed. I'm confused about the exam comments too; exams were easy and he curved them. I had a 99% up until the final exam. The study guides were practically the exact exam questions. Overall, good class
Professor Allred makes the class entertaining, but the workload can be heavy. Lots of projects, so stay on top of things. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for exam prep.
This course needs to be revamped. You pay a lot of money only for him to make you find a salesperson to teach it to you. Absolutely absurd, and I'm surprised he's been getting away with outsourcing his job to someone else for so long. His lectures are just long tangents that are borderline incoherent and are uncomfortable to listen to.
