talks about things not relevant to class and doesnt teach what is on his exams
Hard to understand. Avoid if possible.
totally avoid if at all possible. mean to students and a terrible teacher. i didn't like him at all
No Comments
A little hard to follow, but is willing to help you out of class, you just have to take initiative
helps if you go to office hours, just have to take him with a grain of salt, really smart with a dry sense of humor, likes the arts
hard to follow and understand. the tests and homework have nothing to do with each other and its a boring class!
THIS GUY IS THE WORST!!!!! DROP HIS CLASS NOW!!!! trust me, i had to sit in his class twice a week. he pauses for no reason to look out the window and "admire the flowers" and he calls himself a donkey all the time. english accent and really
Not clear.
Had hom twice Calc I and III about 20 yrs ago.THings haven't changed much. The deal is-i learned how to teach myself.I became an independent learner.I teach math now in HS.Good luck-hahahaha
Oh boy ... try and avoid him. He knows what he's teaching, the problem is, no one else can understand what he's trying to tell them! The notes, tests, and homework do not go hand in hand. In fact, they are all un-related.
knows too much for his own good
Hard to understand at times. Do the work and you might pass.
not a very good teacher. he does try so if you have him go to his office hours. tests are hard and homework is unrelated. smart guy....not able to teach basic math.
RUN AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY
He's very funny and smart.

I thought he was a great professor. He made the class fun. He is also very accessible and helpful via his office hours. You people just have to work and put in a little effort to do well in his class...STOP COMPLAINING !!!
Bahri is a brilliant professor. Makes the class fun, teaches heavily theoretically, which is what academmia needs more of. Probably the top mathematical mind Rider offers. If your a bum, dont take him, you wont be able to handle it.
HORRIBLE! Unless you know the math before you take the class, its a waste of time.
well, he writes everything he says on the board...including the (and there fore's). if you understood all the material going into the course, you'll survive, if you read the book and ingore him, you'll do better, and the sample exams are very helpful, not a lot of homework, just very dull and unrelated
Don't take notes or listen to any words he says. Ignore everything and you will be alright. He teaches simple things in unnecesarily complex ways. He is constatnly fumbling around the board unaware of what his students are thinking or if they are with him.
DON"T DO IT!!! JUST SAY NO!!!
He's tragic. The worst math teacher I've ever had. He makes mistakes in his work daily and he doesn't know how to actually teach.. he just kind of.. babbles.
Horrible Teacher, never take him, you know there is something wrong with the way he teaches when you get a lot of extra credit to do for the class
RUN AWAY...JUST RUN AWAY
He's terrible. Worst math teacher I ever had. He does not know how to teach and hes painfully boring. The only good thing is that he gives a lot of extra credit. Don't take him!
This guy's a bore...and he makes people feel stupid for asking a simple question. For the love of God...don't take him!
I agree with the one who said that if you're a bum, you shouldn't take Bahri. Even though he was hard, and can come off sometimes like a jerk, he's the best math instructor I've had, ever. He's one of the best instructors I've had, period. Work hard and you'll do well.
His humor is strange and he can be a bit brutal. But the way he teaches is so much better than a lot of the math teachers I've had. If you actually want to learn the material then take him, he can be very helpful but if you're just trying to get credit for the class then don't.
Do Not take this course if you have not already had calc or plan to attend all tutoring sessions. he notes are proving everything not actually explaining it. go to his office hours and let him feel superior to you, he likes that.
worst teacher on the planet of teachers. he gives out practice tests which are fine, but he doesnt go over them, and the tests are crazy. he is hard to understand and worse at explaining them. he makes simple things extremely hard and aggravating. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!!
he is awful...i pity you if you choose to take his class...just drop it - you'll learn nothing! he makes everyone feel stupid and doesnt cover even half of the material

This man is a miserable human being. He is the textbook deffinition of what a bad prof is.
Expects alot from his students but you're going to learn the subject. Go to his office hours, get help, do the homework, you'll get alot from his class. "Push clear!"
Makes you feel stupid on a daily basis!! Doesn't teach 2/3 of the material, but tests you on all the material. On a test, if you don't explain every problem with a long-winded proof (directions don't say proof required), IT'S WRONG! 3/4 of the class failed the test, and he said that it was "a fair test" with lots of "easy points."
Bahre is a hard teacher but his class is fun. Its definitely a worth while experience to take his class.
awful....avoid him at all costs!
Finite Math is basically Math for english majors. It's math for people who hate math. he teaches it as if we want to have Math's babies. As, below some yonder balcony, we pine for proofs and square roots. basically... he sucks. avoid him.
Space Cadet!!!! I did pretty well in this class, you have to get into the swing of things to understand the material quickly, if you can think on your feet and have mathematical/analytical ability you will do o.k. , if not this class is DOOM CITY for you, your gpa will go straight down the tubes. Better off not taking this class with this spacecade
Dr. Bahri is the greatest thing since sliced bread!
He's..um..interesting. He had us read poetry at the beginning of class and assigned a visit to the Cloisters museum for extra credit. The class can be hard, especially if you're not that into math, but the grading system is so curved that I got an A-.
Bahri's generally a good guy... he tries.. but he tried to make sure EVERYONE understood before moving on it was a big class, resulting in a lot of ?'s... so it kinda went downhill cuz he tried to please everyone. A lot of people hated the class and had problems, but probably just didn't have the proper math background to deal with college math.
SUCK UP TO HIM! if he likes you he curves you grade MUCH more. and his office hours are a waste. they are usually packed and he is not helpful. if with other students, he moves too quickly, if one-on-one he is sometimes inappropriate. it's possible to get a b in the class and understand ZERO material covered
What a character. He is impossible to understand, and in attempts to make calculus easier to understand, he confuses everyone much more. If you are good at math you might have a chance. Other than that he is definitly a laugh and a pretty nice guy. He tries.
A very kind, quirky &, above all, SEXY man (sigh!).
Had him several times. Many had trouble with him - but those people were idiots. He is a very intelligent mathematician and you'll learn a lot if you ignore all the idiots. Awesome prof!
What can I add? Smart, witty, helpful. And, although he is not good looking, I agree, he's HOT!
I agree with Mathfew. He's a very good professor that actually explains everything very thoroughly. Most professors don't do this and therefore no one ever learns the logic behind anything. 99% of the people who say how horrible he is are the people who haven't a clue what they're doing or they just go into the class with a bad attitude.
not an easy class but study the rules and know them. you can do well. if you just complain about it you will fail. he is seriously awesome though.
hard to understand. not recommended.
bad prof. avoid if you want to actually learn something.
While I understand that those with an O.K. math background would do poorly in his class, he should be so rude to students who are not in love with limits and derivatives (yes, we passed the placement exam or pass the previous class, gtfo). He attempts to be helpful during office horus but many leave just as bewildered. May 0/0 live on!
Love him! He creates a challenge that is a welcome from the other math professors. He is exactly what I imagined a professor would be - dedicated, intelligent and caring. He LOVES when students come up and asks him questions; so feel free to walk in during his office hours - he won't bite! He is a challenge, but totally rewarding to have.
He's a good guy that knows a lot about the subject, but he can be very confusing. If you are an athlete, I wouldn't recommend taking him because attendance is mandatory and he isn't very understanding about missed class for games/meets. He doesn't really like athletes. But, if you decide to take him, GO TO THE TUTORING SESSIONS because they help.
Dr. Bahri is not so much of a teacher but more of a mathematician. It is hard to follow the class at times. I would suggest to go to his office hours if you do he'll be nice when he gives you your final grade. Definitely go to math lab tutoring! It will help your grade so much! He gives you three homework assignments try to get an A on each one.
He can be a little confusing if you don't pay attention and the help sessions can be necessary but his class is mostly focused for Math majors.
Keep up with the lecture and notes, go to office hours if there's something that you don't understand. He is very helpful. Tests are challenging, but fair. I've learned a lot and enjoyed the class!
He seems like an ok guy, but I still can not shake off a feeling of negativity from him. He is really not a good professor. Smart on the subject. ok guy. poor performance as a professor. I literally set up this account to spread the word about him. I mean, you can just study well to get over a tough professor, like so, but he just doesn't help much
I made this account just to rate this professor. He is only as tough as people say if you do not what he asks. If you do the readings before class, his lectures will make perfect sense. I was bored almost every day when he would go on and on explaining something simple in complicated mathematically correct ways since i read the simple explanation
He is a very intelligent man but not my favorite professor. He is very philosophical and explains simple topics and makes them seem complicated. Use the text book a lot because it will actually give you the simple definition. His tests are difficult but he is always willing to help, very good about his office hours.
Barhi is by far one of the worst professors at Rider. He is extremely unclear in what he expects and uses abstract examples that actually make the material more complicated. I do not recommend taking him at all.
Rider students, heed the warning: DO NOT TAKE DR. BAHRI. He is hands-down the worst professor at Rider. He complicates Mathematics far beyond what he needs to, doesn't explain things clearly enough, and is about the least helpful, rudest person I think I've ever met. Avoid this calamitous idiot at all costs when having to take a Gen-ed math course.
He is a bit tough at first, just attend the math lab and you would pass
To any students with disabilities, I highly recommend you do not take him, at least not without providing an accommodation letter, explaining your disability. He is extremely vindictive and refused to understand why his actions were abusive and extremely hurtful. He looks down on students despite his claims and will angrily scold them for anything.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!! He over complicates math and makes it so hard to understand. Homework given is not what we cover in class and by the time you get to the test you are so confused. He wants you to do math his way and if you don't he will mark it wrong and take off a lot of points. If you are not good at math do not take Professor Bahri
This class made me breakdown on multiple occasions. It's really difficult to get into a groove with learning the material because he over complicates simple things. The homework will often contain material that was not covered in class. For that go to his office hours because he's very picky about how work is done.
I had to drop the class because it was going to hurt my GPA and everyone got a 30-40% on the first test out of 3 tests. This guy is not good He made us buy a book and didn't even use it and when he used it he changed the whole problem. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR
By far the worst Professor at Rider University. He does not use canvas so it is very hard to know your grade. Very rude person and doesnt like when people ask questions. Teaching style is VERY old fashioned. If you have this teacher please drop this class ASAP, trust me..
For the first few weeks, his lectures are useless and have nothing to do with what you're supposed to be learning. He barely gives out practice work but when he does it's not related to what we learn in class. No one knew what was going on at all. only take this professor if you like suffering and learning nothing of importance
Argued with me about my accommodations because he didn't like that I used my computer for notes. He then accused me of abusing my accommodations because he didn't like that I had my computer. He has very strict rules of homework to be turned in that he never went over so most students did the homework "incorrectly" for the first assignment.
Does not listen to his students and has absurd rules. He will tell you to meet him at his office hours but will refuse to schedule outside of that time if you have a scheduling conflict (like a class) during his office times. He has only 5 assignments that add to your total grade. His ONLY communication is through email but he doesn't check it.
Be ready to read through the textbooks yourself because it is hard to learn almost anything from his lectures. He's very intelligent, but he doesn't know how to articulate his thoughts so his students can understand him. So many people do poorly in his class that he has to curve the grades by a lot just to make sure his entire class does not fail.
This professor is really specific with everything he does. He wouldn't let students turn in homework with paper that had the little side things on it. He also waited until the last minute to start teaching anything when he knew homework was due in 2 days. Do not take this professor unless you wanna be stressed. I promise you it's not worth it.
Dr. Bahri is a mathematician, but NOT a good teacher. College students in a 100 level class are not prepared to be discussing mathematics in a way that he expects. He is not understanding of this fact and is VERY strict with accommodations. His class is VERY DIFFICULT, not because the content is hard, but because he makes it hard for NO REASON!!!!
I really don't think he should be teaching 100 level math. He's a smart guy, obviously, and knows his stuff when it comes to math, but having him for a basic math class I was only taking for the gen-ed credit was a lot. He over complicates everything, and can be snippy when asked questions. If you're not a math major -- stay away.
Worst professor at Rider University. Avoid at all costs. Office hours are useless. Should be fired.
This professor teaches math like a broken calculator—inputs go in, nonsense comes out. Their "explanations" are hieroglyphics in a oral form. You'll leave each lecture more confused than when you arrived. The only thing you'll learn is how to teach yourself from YouTube.
If the first thing you're gonna do is boast about how difficult your class is gonna be, maybe you shouldn't be teaching. Dr Bahri overcomplicates what should be relatively simple math to an unrecognizable degree. Prepare to write utter nonsense in your notes as he writes every word he says up on the board for you to copy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Avoid if you can
While Dr. Bahri is a smart guy, he is an awful professor. Be prepared for headaches and having to teach yourself the material since his explanations and lecture style are abysmal (also, office hours are useless). Exams were worth 80% of the final grade, with homework being the other 20%. Save yourself the pain and don't take him unless necessary.
