Prof. Cuda is awesome! He's really a students' professor...he makes sure that you understand the material and are doing well in the class. Also, his lectures are rarely boring.

The man is genius. I actually took two of his classes and I'm not in the major. I know plenty of people who have done the same. He's so good that people bring others in to see him at work. He's demanding but his expectations help, never hinder. :o)
had a weird conncection with the guys in the class and the girls didn't seem to understand his personality and method of teachings and was harder to follow him when he taught mainly to the guys in the class
One the coolest classes at UNCG, but is a lot of reading. He has reading quizzes every now and than, and will ask about mudane items from the reading. His test are not that hard though, but likes a lot of class discussion.
This man. Is. A. Genius. And he knows it. I don't know about the whole "teaching to the guys" concept, but as a female student, I was floored by his knowledge and his ownership of the subject. I took both of his classes and I'm not even an English major.
I got an A, but that's because I worked VERY hard. The amount of poems you have to be familiar with for the exams is excessive. The class could be boring, but Dr. Cuda tries to make it more interesting by showing pictures/videos and telling funny stories about the poets. He is unbelievably smart! He was also very helpful and approachable.
Dr. Cuda is great! He is so helpful and his class is extremely easy if you attend and read the text. Cuda makes poetry fun.
One of the hardest classes in the history of English. I absolutely hated it. He is a nice guy but very unapproachable. He only wants to speak with his scholars. If you fall below he has no use for you.
I really enjoyed this class! Even though I'm in a sorority and he came down on all of Greek life one day I'm pretty sure I changed his opinion. To succeed in this class all you need to do is come to class listen and read the material. It's as simple as that.
Great teacher. I look forward everyday going to class and talking about whatever poet he has assigned. More like a poetry reading than class. Test are tough, but he grades fair. Never made less than a C on anything.
I have thoroughly enjoyed both of the English classes I've taken with Dr. Cuda. His vast knowledge and enthusiasm for literature made me excited to be an English major. Dr. Cuda demands a lot of work from his students, but at this level of education I would be disappointed if he didn't have high expectations of us.
Dr. Cuda is probably the best professor I have ever had at UNCG. His obvious enthusiasm for the subject and his sense of humor make the class wonderful. He is tough, but he is always willing and available to help anybody who needs it.
Cuda is a really great professor. He really made us work hard but my writing has improved because of it. If you have a chance to take his class do it! And consider yourself lucky because there are some crazies in the English department. Which is totally fine.
Cuda is an awesome professor. He's passionate about his work and it shows. He's also hilarious in class and pretty easy on the eyes. Grades easy on the exams and harder on papers. A great experience!
Dr. Cuda is pretty brilliant. This class (Dante In English) is amazing; I learned so much. Also, there was no paper to write!
Passionate, unreserved, demanding and exacting of nothing more than college material. An amazing teacher and a great resource for your future. Rude and harsh in moderation. Missed, definitely. Why Cuda? Oh, Do not ask, "what is it". Go on and make your visit. Although his hair is growing thin, he helps you hear the mermaids sing.
I'm an adult returning student and I can't say enough that Dr. Cuda is an outstanding professor by any standard. Not the easiest course, but he is extremely fair. Vigorous, open classroom instruction, great sense of humor, never a dull moment. If you are at UNCG your college years are wasted if you don't sign up for at least one of his courses.
Cuda is an amazing professor. It's clear that he loves being a professor and Dante was a great class to take. He's absolutely hilarious but also expects you to read and know the subject (which was great!) He's so good that I'm taking him again next semester!
Definitely a life changing professor. He truly cares about his students and everything that he is teaching you though his classes are not easy A's at all and he appreciates people that do the reading and participate in class discussions. I highly advise everyone to take his class before you graduate
By far the best professor I've ever had. Reading and reading questions every night, but well worth it. Will be taking my 3rd class with him next semester.
Cuda walks you through the most difficult questions of Modernism and life with as much ease as is possible; this course is brilliantly devastating, taught by a professor that truly cares and wants you to succeed. Enrapturing discussions, tough reading questions, great course. Be prepared to learn so, so much and put Cuda up on a literary pedistol
Dr. Cuda is brilliant and hilarious and probably a genius. He also has a way of shutting you down (either because your point is stupid or just tangential) that somehow still leaves you feeling encouraged to continue speaking up in class. He also gives you constructive feedback on your writing even if you make an A, which is awesome.
Professor Cuda made Dante in English interesting. I found a love for something I otherwise wouldn't have through his class. His lectures are engaging and you will get more from the class if you really dig in to the material. As an English major this is what I want from a class.
10/10 would take again. I love Cuda.
He is a amazing teacher and will push you to explore your mind. He has a writing assignment due every class which can be challenging sometimes but if you do what's it's asking your fine. Midterm and cumulative final only two test. 2 memorization quizzes where you memorized and write down 2 14 line or more poems and that's it! Great class
He is a really fun professor and really values different opinions on poetry. We do have fairly easy daily poetry assignments.
Cuda is without a doubt my favorite professor here at UNCG. There wasn't a single day that I dreaded going to class because I knew there would be alluring colloquy awaiting my arrival. If you don't like reading prodigious poems and if you also don't like a good 'ol hilariously morbid sense of humor, this class is not for you. Otherwise, take it.
Professor Cuda is an amazing professor. He is brilliant and passionate about the subject he teaches, which helps students be passionate about it as well. The workload is enough to be challenging, but not overwhelming. You have daily writing assignments, 2 memorization quizzes, a midterm and a final and that's it! Overall,I really enjoyed the class.
Dr. Cuda is extremely knowledgable about Dante. If you've ever had even a passing interest in The Divine Comedy, taking his class will help to foster a deep understanding of Dante's life and artistic vision. Dr. Cuda is very passionate in his lectures and is very fun to listen to. He expects insight out of you but will help lead you there.
I took ENG105 with Cuda which was his very first 100 level course. I loved loved loved this course, although it was sad that we did the same assignment all semester because people couldn't grasp the concept, it was wonderful. He is such an intelligent being and you will do nothing but prosper from taking a course with him.
Anthony Cuda has a TON of charisma, or what some people call the "It" factor. This is the kind of person you can listen to talk all day. You'll ACTUALLY learn something from this professor, and love almost every minute of it.
I thought I hated poetry after the first couple of classes but once I sunk into the discussions and homework, I have a newfound love for poetry. Dr. Cuda can be tough but he is passionate and encouraging. Only complaint is that he would post assignments late the night before they were due which was a little annoying to work around.
Dr. Cuda is the reason I am now an English major. The class discussions are always really interesting and I can tell I've gotten better at writing after all the writing assignments we have to do. I love this class, definitely recommend.
Dr. Cuda is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. He made sure I was able to turn in all of my assignments in order to pass the class when I was going through a rough time. My biggest advice is MAKE SURE YOU KEEP UP WITH THE WRITING ASSIGNMENTS. But always choose Dr. Cuda for Intro to Poetry and any other class he offers. Phenomenal...
The best professor Ive ever had !
Entertaining during discusses
Dr. Cuda is funny most of the time and loves his poetry. The daily writing assignments get annoying but outside of that the mid-term and final are very easy. The class is fairly easy and a great choice for a course requirement.
Dr. Cuda is very passionate about what he teaches and makes that clear in lectures. He truly loves poetry and wants his students to love it too. He assigns reading questions every class so the course is homework heavy. Overall, the course is easy if you participate in lectures and complete the reading assignments!
Hes a really good. There will be assignments due almost every class. He requires ALL work to be turned in to pass. If you try you will pass with ease. If you dont understand something ask and you will receive an answer. He does swear sometimes so if you dont like it beware. Lectures give all info you will need. Pretty good overall.
A great teacher. Makes me want to take a other of his classes. Makes the content engaging and interesting.
I would absolutely take another class with Dr. Cuda! He's very witty, and this class was super duper easy. As long as you do the homework and pay attention in class, there's no way you can fail.
Lord. I love this man. It was such an easy class, if you just show up. Participate, do your work and study for the exams, you'll do fine
Truly an amazing teacher.
Even if you dont care about Modernism, take this class. You will love it by the end!
Best professor I've ever had. His lectures are so good that I would come to class thinking I hated the reading and leave thinking it was the best text I'd ever read. He cares a lot about the material and just as much about his students. If you're struggling with the text, let him know. Dr. Cuda is life-changing! Plus he's hot.
Dr. Cuda is always willing to help you as you struggle through the semester and the difficult novels/poetry he assigns. All of the readings actually fill some type of void in your soul even if you dont get poetry or whatever.
Probably the best professor I've had in all my (many) years as a college student. Dr. Cuda knows his stuff and he is enthusiastic about spreading that knowledge to his students. He's intelligent, funny, and kind, and is all around a phenomenal educator.
I will take every class Professor Cuda teaches. He is knowledgeable about all things Modern Poetry. He makes you work for your grade but it is worth it in the end. Don't get behind on reading questions and you'll be fine.
Just be ready to read out poems and write 8 page papers
Cuda is very funny. I enjoyed every class that I attended. I do not recommend taking this course if you do not deeply care about the subject matter. Cuda assigns more work than other, similar courses. If you are overly sensitive, do not take this class. Cuda will make the occasional joke at one's expense, but they're all in good fun. Good class A+.
AMAZING TEACHER!! Very knowledgable and enthusiastic about poetry. One of the few English professors who cares about your opinions and interpretations. Great classroom environment for discussion!
Exams were very difficult and requires a lot of studying. If you don't get a high grade on the exams you will fail the classes. He's a good professor, but the exams are what killed my grades. Won't be taking him again.
Dr. Cudas an amazing professor, really knows his stuff. Workload wasnt a big deal, you have reading questions (3-4 open ended questions) each class for homework. The exams and tests will KILL your grades. You have to memorize 40+ poems on top of key terms for every test. If you dont eat, sleep, and breathe poetry dont take the class.
Cuda is a great guy, but his class is hard and time consuming. Every book on the syllabus will be read. There are daily reading qs, discussion posts, a final 8+ page paper and 2 exams that require memorization of every book word for word bc he will pull random quotes to identify. If you cant dedicate your whole life to this class, DONT TAKE IT.
Professor Cuda is one of the best professors ever. PERIOD. The class was so interesting and he really knows his stuff! He seems to really care about his students and wishes to engage with you about the material. Cannot say more kind words about this man, please take whatever he teaches and I promise you, you will love it. Just make sure to study!
A lot of homework but it's super manageable and the content isn't hard. He explains everything in such an amazing way. He is super hilarious and is an amazing professor. If I could, I would take this class again. I managed an A-plus, which I haven't gotten in college until now. Attendance matters, but it's a class you'll actually want to go to.
He assigns reading questions every other day that are not that difficult and you talk about them the next day in class. Constant work, but it is easy and really thought-provoking when you really get into the class. Definitely recommend taking him if you want to get into poetry or want to learn about amazing poetry in general.
Show up in class and participate. You will pass
Probably one of the more enthusiastic teachers I had my past few semesters. Always loved student participation and was passionate about the subject he taught and I could feel that energy which helped me learn and appreciate the subject material. Assignments were simple reading assignments and were discussed in the next class period.
Prof. Cuda is a wonderful instructor. So long as you communicate, he is very willing to adjust and assist. Being present for class discussion and doing the readings/ work is the best thing you can do. Discussion is the feedback for the class, and it DOES clarify confusion. Engage in class and you should be good to go
This class is so easy. There are poems that do provoke thought and some that are more difficult than others, but if you just make a clear effort to try, you'll be fine. Take this class!!!!
Solid professor who brings great energy to each class meeting. Class arrangement was one homework assignment about a poem per class. Super easy to follow and stay on top of. Also just a cool dude who has thoughtful and compelling discussions about both the poems and life in general.
Great teacher; Easy A if you put in the work
Can be over the top at times but that comes from a love of poetry. The class is easy so long as you complete assignments on time. Attendance is mandatory, do not expect to skip lectures and make a high grade.
Professor Duda is a passionate professor that cares deeply about his work. The classes are enjoyable and often time leaves one thinking afterwards.
Cuda always showed a deep knowledge of poetry. He knew more about the poems we read than the people who wrote them. He was always very engaged with the material and did his best to ensure the poem would be understood by the students. He was a very fun professor though the workload was a bit much, homework before every class.
There is a flow to this class that you'll definitely get used to. Sometimes there will be a fairly long poem, but Cuda is sure to let you know ahead of time. He's very understanding in terms of submitting assignments, making it clear that he would rather you understand the material rather than get an A.
Dr. Cuda's class was definitely challenging. He had a lot of reading and assignments due everyday. HOWEVER, for the most part, he gives the sections where you should focus on and they don't have to be super in detail. He is also VERY approachable. If you are struggling literally with anything, just reach out to him and he will work with you.
Prof. Cuda is one of the best professors at UNCG. His classes are always engaging and he is very understanding and patient with students. This course has A LOT of reading, so just be prepared to stay on top of that. Take every class he offers if you can!
Cuda's lectures are definitely something you'll want to attend, and I deeply regret not attending every single one of his classes. I thought that because I was very behind on the assignments that he would be harsh or judgmental, but his understanding nature was honestly the only thing that helped me pass. Could not recommend him more.
Dr. Cuda is one of the best professors at the university. His classes are always entertaining and engaging and he's incredibly understanding and willing to work with you. He takes student feedback immediately and will change things to benefit the class. Take every course he offers.
Professor Cuda is one of the more understanding and funny teachers I have had. He always grades fair and always open to discussion. He is quite easy to reach either by office hours or email. He does a great job and has a really deep understanding of the subject material of the course.
Professor Cuda is the BESTTTT english professor at UNCG. Super chill and offers a lot of different insights into the reading material. There's short reading responses before every class and it's not workload heavy. I recommend his class to any english major looking for a fun higher level course.
This class only adds to the importance and purpose of studying the humanities, of studying English. Quite literally the best professor I've ever had. He teaches The Commedia in way that makes it personal to you, you're affected academically and spiritually, get ready for a ride. Cuda is absolutely hilarious, engaging, be prepared for the impact.
I absolutely loved Dr. Cuda, he is one of the best professors at UNCG. He is hilarious, informative and I learned so much about life, philosophy, and the literary world. He is inspirational and encourages learning inside and outside of the classroom, he is great at helping students who need a helping hand. Would 10/10 recommend him!
I LOVE DR. CUDA, HOLY CANNOLI!!!! Literally one of the most intellectually stimulating professors I've ever had. An absolute joy to be around, he's like Robin Williams in "Good Will Hunting" :)
The class was always fun to attend. Jokes & laughter were always abundant during the lectures. Knowledge, education & passion were always clearly demonstrated during the lectures, which in tune made the course easy to understand. Not to mention grading was always fair. I'd recommend the class to any student looking into taking one of his courses.
good dude. thumbs up
Can't get enough of the barracuda
Dr. Cuda's lectures are engaging and honestly just fun. The material can be challenging but there is a good mix of styles and word counts, and he manages to help wring sense from obtuse works.
This class was very fun overall. I learned so much about gothic modernism.
