Very nice teacher, if you ask for help on a homework problem he is happy to go over it with you. The dude knows calculus, and expects you to as well. His quizzes were pretty easy and although he could be boastful and rude at times, he's actually pretty funny and is patient when it comes to explaining something you don't understand. Don't be late, he HATES that. The tests are challenging and short, you either know the answer or you don't

Extremely smart guy who really knows his stuff. Teaches very well. Study guides are similar to the test but the tests are a little harder so take good notes! Smart ass teacher who will call you out infront of class if youre being disrespectful. Cracks witty jokes every now and then. One of the better math teachers I've had in a while.

Homework is light and the tests are predictable, but he's a bit weird and comes across as arrogant. Once, a student proposed an alternate method to solve a problem and he wasted the entire class period trying to find a counterexample. Stop wasting my time please.. And although the class is insanely easy, still need to buy a book for hw problems :(

D'Alesandro is by far the best math teacher I've ever had. He makes understanding calculus so fun, exciting, and EASY (seriously). Class is MANDATORY if you want to succeed. He is funny and I like his corky things he says, but do NOT piss him off, come high to class, or show up late. I would take another class from him in a heartbeat.

Pretty good professor. Can be funny, if you understand his sense of humor. Though, sometimes after class I'm left wondering if the professor actually knew what he was talking about. I don't mean to say that he's bad, but sometimes while doing a problem on the board, sometimes he messes up on something somewhat simple. Overall, smart guy though.

I really did not like this professor. He is very condescending and messes up frequently in class. There were a couple of students that had to continually correct him and he was very nasty to them when they did (even though they were right). Just an all around rude and degrading professor. AVOID!

Absolutely horrendous. When he speaks you can hear what he says. However, I had to teach myself the material due to him being terrible at teaching the material. He also gives homework that is completely out of context to what's taught in class to the point you will not know where to begin with the problems. Also gives VERY few examples in class.

D'Alesandro is the most straightforward math professor I have ever had. His tests look just like the quizzes, homework, and worksheets. Like others have said, the guy is very straight forward with tests and assignments. He does have an ego however and tends to call people out and doesn't really care if he offends anyone. Material and quiz's are easy but tests can be tricky due to the way some problems are set up. HW is sort of relevant. You'll need to learn a lot outside of class.

His attitude he comes to class with is annoying and distracting. He has an ego. Hated going to class and would skip sometimes because attendance was not mandatory. "I could care less whether you (all) came to class or not". He had you using 3 different online sites besides blackboard for class. This was distracting and difficult to keep up with.

D'Alesandro doesn't really teach. He told us the first day he doesn't want to "pontificate" to us, so you really have to teach yourself, especially for the first test. I am not the type to trash a teacher, but I'm afraid this one deserves it. He speeds through lectures writing as quickly as he talks so you never catch up. His examples jump from simple to impossible, making it difficult to learn. The tests bear no resemblance to provided study guides. Avoid taking this teacher's class if you value your GPA.

His Linear Algebra class is basically just a rundown on how to use matrices to solve for variables. He's really abrasive, but he does everything in class, but if you want you can use just the study aid he recommended and the handout and you will 100% definitely get a B or better so long as you do the work and show up for tests.
