Dr. Daniels is a great professor. He makes his lectures interesting and it's easy for he students to pay attention. He posts all his lectures on blackboard. All his quizzes and tests are either take home or group. You don't even need to show up to pass. And he gives out tons of extra Credit opportunities. Definitely the professor you should choose.
Dr. Daniels made a boring class super fun. The lectures can get a little dry from time to time but he has a way of making them interesting. Group tests and take home tests are easy but watch out for his midterm, buy the book. All of his lectures are online which is helpful, but attendance counts towards your grade. Would take again!
Dr. Daniels was overall a great professor. He was really easy on grading to the point it seemed like he didn't even look at the assignment. Most of the time quizzes and assignments are completed in a group. Watch out for the midterm and final exam, they are challenging since the other assignments are open note.
Professor Daniels will make his lectures interesting and he keeps the class motivated. He does give out a lot of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of them. His midterm and final are hard, but he grades on a curve.
Does a great job making the class fun. Rarely any homework. A couple of quizzes. Tough Midterm and Final. Lots of extra credit. Doesn't take attendance often, but when he does it's worth A TON of points, so show up. Best professor I've had so far at UT
His online summer term is easy to follow and it's quick to finish the assignments, I ran into complications ranging from not having my book for 2 weeks (in a 6 week class!) to my wifi not posting a 200 pt assignment. He was understanding through all of it and only docked me 50 pts for the late discussion board posting, just keep him in the loop!!!
Definitely, take him, but don't wear anything more noticeable to his class if nobody is raising hands he'll pick on you to answer. Other than that, an amazing teacher.
Just screwed up a discussion board that was a week late and he replied to my email within a few hours and accepted it for credit. This dude is pretty laid back and super understanding, I didn't get my book until week 5 but he's still letting me make up the work. Pretty easy assignments, just one true essay the entire semester. Would take again.
Dr Daniels is a pretty easy to get along with guy. The online class consisted of 15 chapter summaries you wrote, 3 quizzes and 2 tests (on blackboard), a couple discussion boards, and a paper. Grading on the paper was a little rough, but its super easy to get an A in other things. Do the work, get the A.
Amazing professor! Class consists of three chapter quizzes that you take online, a midterm and final, and discussion board postings. Midterm and final are a little tough, but he curves it. He gives out a lot of extra credit and it definitely helps. He also is very funny and entertaining. Definitely take his class.
such an easy class - read the textbook, his midterm/final consists of both questions from his powerpoints and the textbook.
Best professor ever. Very understanding and very helpful. Good teacher and many good stories that will help you remember the material. Make sure you attend class because many of the material on the exams are from the lecture. Mid term and final are in class, 2 other quizzes are online. One paper all semester. Honestly, you don't need the book.
He was a hilarious professor and he made sure you understood information. All quizzes were open book & note. Honestly there was a point where I didnt go to class for a month for medical reasons and I still ended with a B. He does take random attendance checks so be careful on skipping. Loved that class.
Semester's not over yet, but there is so much extra credit, and there is only like 2 short assignments a week.
Gives a bunch of extra credit! Took this class online. Consisted of chapter summaries, discussion boards, quizzes, a midterm and final, and a final paper. Awesome professor!
I took this class online and it was kinda a joke. Super Easy A and he was really great! I would recommend this to high schoolers as a nice way to get into the college scene. You will be very successful in this course. Online in 6 weeks was not a problem. Make a word document of the questions and their answers as you find them for advanced success.
Dr Daniels was very helpful every time I emailed him regarding the class. He accepts late work with a small penalty but still grades work fairly. If you do the chapter review essay each week you will easily have a passing grade in the class and all of his quizzes and exams come right from quizlet.
Really funny and educated professor! Makes the class interesting. A lot of extra credit opportunities. Exams are easy as long as you go to class, pay attention and study lecture notes. A midterm, couple of chapter quizzes, Cumulative final exam.
Grading criteria was straightforward but make sure you read the announcements as due dates tend to change from what the syllabus says. Discussion board posts EVERY week, quizzes and exams, and one paper worth 20% of your grade. Daniels was decent with grading on time and responding to emails. An easy class if you don't miss ANY work.
Professor Daniels was amazing. He is really funny but will pick on you throughout the lecture if you show up late. He likes to have everybody pass and will try to work with you to get your grade up.
Great professor. For the most part unbiased. Easy to communicate within class. He is not really accessible outside of class, but there is not really reason to be. If you want to take a goverment class this is the one you want to take. He is an amazing profesor. His class is very entertaining, and he makes the information relevant to our everyday.
Dr. Daniels wants everyone to pass. However his lectures, while funny and interesting, get off topic and do not directly correlate with what is on the tests. I would suggest purchasing the textbook and going to class, you will be fine
Dr. Daniels was a solid professor. He let students know what to expect during the semester upfront. There were a couple of quizzes here and there along with one big paper at the end of the semester. He gives a clear prompt for it so it is not difficult. The only thing that is expected weekly are chapter summaries that are one page in length.
I don't what to say, you can't ask for better!
Theres a required textbook but you dont need it at all. The tests and quizzes are easy if you have the lecture notes which he posts online. He also allows cheat sheets for the midterm and exam:m. Hes really fun and nice.
Online and in-class are COMPLETELY different. Daniels HATES his online classes and does not do ANYTHING but throw a grade in, and yes, it is completely random. He doesn't actually read anything at all from the online classes - papers, emails, discussion boards, NOTHING. He will not reply to anything. Even if you do the extra credit he ignores it
This is the worst professor I have ever had. He is absolutely ridiculous. I emailed him twice about things in the class and never heard back from him. If you can't get back to your students then you probably shouldn't be teaching an online class. He is just very unprofessional. There are few assignments and they are worth a lot. Don't forget them!
Took his class online. Every week there are lecture summary's. If you do the work you will pass. Lots of extra credit opportunities however, most of the were by watching movies on campus and writing a response which doesn't help much if you're an online student and can't attend them. Overall he's a good professor.
It was a lecture class, but somehow he made it entertaining. If you show up, you'll do well, just study :). Id recommend reading the book, but I didn't even pick it up. I would totally take him again.
Great professor easy to follow and often funny.
Dr. Daniels' class wasn't super hard, but you did have to work for a good grade. The most content-heavy grade was the required paper due at the end of the semester, but even that wasn't that bad since you're given the entire semester. He says the textbook is required but he uses powerpoints for all the important info so you really don't need it.
Dr. Daniels is funny and knows how to explain things. I enjoyed going to class and hearing some of his goofy stories. I showed up and read the book and got a good grade. I would take him for any class.
Professor Daniels is a great teacher who makes it easy for students. Clear about the grading and helps his students. Extra credit opportunities and makes exams easy for students. Overall, great teacher to take.
He knows his stuff, he's entertaining during lectures, and lets you know what will be on the exams before he gives them.
This dude was the man. Lectures were supposed to be twice a week, instead he gave us the material and homework during lectures on Monday and told us to have a great week. He was always available to help and explained the material really in depth during lectures
Overall good professor. I didn't have any lectures, so to find out the announcements I had to keep checking blackboard. I would advise that you make it a habit if your taking his online class to check BB daily. Some of the weakly chapters we had to read were a bit much in my opinion, but it's manageable if you make time for it. Great professor
I'm taking a government class with him and I have yet to contact him for anything. His class is pretty straightforward; read chapters and do weekly summaries, discussion boards sometimes, multiple-choice quizzes and exams, and a final paper. He seems to be a lenient grader and is chill with due dates. I haven't had an issue yet except I get bored
Not sure why he received good ratings. He basically left all of it to yourself. He graded a bit. That's it. He's no help at all.
This was an easy class to take. I took it during summer session one. Every week you can except a quiz, 2-3 chapter summaries (about a page summarizing the chapter you read/these are also graded on completion), and sometimes a discussion board. Very straight forward. Test/quizzes all come from textbook and extra credit is available.
Daniels is a cool person but as a professor in class in NOT fun. Yeah, he's funny and entertaining, but if you mess up on a quiz you'll never see an A again. The weights of his grades are meant for you to fail. Assignments are worth 900 points, but they do about .009% for your grade. I would not take this prof if you are not good with quizzes.
Daniels tries to make his lectures fun. However, there is a lot of content that he covers and he reads off of slides non-stop every class period. 60% of your grade is based on the midterm and final exams that are worded nothing like his lectures. 3 quizzes periodically. Lots of extra credit opportunities to get up to a 5% boost on your final grade.
While Doctor Daniels kept lectures interesting, they did not help with the quizzes which are a major part in your grade. The assignments you do are basically worthless and do not help your grade, the tests and quizzes are the most important part and he does not prepare his students well for them.
Overall, he is a good professor. It's important that you study for the quizzes, midterm, and final because they contain very detailed questions. His lectures are great!! He does a very amazing job at keeping students focused. The lectures were very entertaining. Would definitely recommend taking this class but make sure you study study study!
Class is full of tests that do not have information from class on them. He lectures all of class but is at least hes funny.
This guy makes American National Government fun. Close to zero homework assignments, and all the notes can be found on his Blackboard. The only negative is the amount of information on the midterm and final exam. Which can really drop your grade if you're not prepared (but there's notecards sooo).
Prof. Daniels is overall a good professor. His class is very straight forward. You have weekly chapter summaries to do. there are 3 tests, midterm and a final. they are pretty easy if you study. you also have one final paper you have to do which is worth 15% of the entire grade. lots of extra credit opportunities. definitely a good class to take.
While the class was easy as it was online, the class did not pertain to "Current International Problems", the class itself, instead, it was through a $70 textbook of heavy political ideas. Weekly chapter summaries, a few discussions, a couple of quizzes, a midterm/final, and a final essay. Easy class, but lots of busy work and very boring.
I would not recommend anyone with anxiety to take this course. While professor Daniels does try to keep lectures entertaining, he will randomly call upon people to answer questions, and will poke fun at them if the answer is not well worded. Not only that, the actual lectures barely include material for exams, which are 60% of your grade.
Dr. Daniels is by far my favorite teacher I've had professor or otherwise. He puts effort into making sure the lectures are interesting and fun, I don't think there's been a single lecture where I haven't laughed, the few assignments we have to do are extremely easy, tests were easy for me because I love politics.
I can't speak much about his in-person classes, but his online class is quite boring and I don't learn anything from it. You read the chapter and weekly summaries. Sometimes, there is a discussion board, but it is rare. If you are taking this class for credit, go ahead. If you would love to take this class to learn, don't take the online version.
Dr. Daniels always has hilarious stories and picks people at random to answer questions, making the class feel less like a lecture and more engaging. Lectures rarely cover what will be on quizzes and exams though. Overall this class is a great time and interesting despite this
Dr. Daniels was a great prof, however his tests and his lectures didn't really match up. Anything you need to know for the quizzes/exams are all in the textbook, but the book does better explaining the subject. He grades on only a few exams and discussion boards, so as long as you do good on those the class is relatively easy.
Best professor this entire semester, hilarious lectures, understanding with absences and accepting late work, not too many homework assignments, exams were fairly easy
One of the absolute funniest professors at UT, never had more enjoyable lectures until this class. The classwork itself is very easy and graded very leniently. Tests and quizzes are fairly easy, make sure to read the book though as they're more based on the book than the lecture and powerpoint, especially any bolded or italicized terms.
He is so funny and picks on students, however, students who have stress issues should not take his classes. Also, he does not teach the material from book. Thus, be prepared to read a heavy book by yourself.
Hilarious lectures- should be a comedian rather than a professor. However, almost halfway through the semester- the quizzes/exams are not similar to the lectures or book. They are also worth over half your grade. From what I studied from the book and my notes, only 25% appeared on the test. Funny classes, but randomly calls for questions.
This course was overall easy if you completed the work on time. The course obtains chapter summaries, a few tests, an exam, and a final paper. The professor is an easy grader and gives 100% for every assignment. Make sure you have the book and pay attention because the tests can become difficult. Would recommend.
he is very bad a grading things that are online the semester ended two weeks ago and three of my test i took on time are still not graded and if you email him for help or to fix something he takes up to three weeks at minimum to respond lots of reading zero guided learning and lots of test that wont even be over the main point of the chapter.
He is the greatest!! He is super funny and make the class more interesting. He gives alot of extra credit. Only thing is his exams. They are kinda difficult. But other then that hes great.
This professor is very nice. His coursework is slightly time-consuming but pretty easy. The chapter summaries took me about 50 minutes to do, and the final paper took me about 5 hours. Other than that, he assigns a couple of quizzes and discussion boards, and that is it! Moreover, there are several extra credit opportunities.
long boring lectures and calls on people randomly throughout
He's definitely one of the funniest professors I've had. His lectures are funny and interesting, even if you don't care about the American government. A lot of extra credit opportunities and even gives hints to questions on the exam on the review days.
took this class online, he is not good at answering you back or leaving good feedback on assignments. the only thing he graded heavily was the final paper. i had a 94 in. the class and he gave me general feedback that he copies and pastes for all students (how am i supposed to know what to fix?) and it brought me down to a 79. would not take again!
I had weekly work where you had to read chapters and summarize them. The work was not difficult; it was just time-consuming. He does take a bit to respond; I recommend just going to his office hours. There are lots of quizzes, but there are practice ones before taking the actual quizzes. However, there were a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Honestly this will be an easy class once you figure everything out. You can find almost every test and exam question online and for the weekly summaries DO THE KEY TERMS. He will give you the same grade as long as you complete the assignment. The extra credit is barely worth any points so unless you are very very desperate don't do it
Anthony Daniels was one of the best professors I've had. The work is so straightforward and easy to understand. He has simple summaries due every week for an easy A on work. Quizzes every once in a while, super straightforward and easy to pass. Take Daniels if you can! Best online class I've taken.
I really enjoyed Dr. Daniels Race and Politics class. It is a pretty heavy subject sometimes, but he knows how to add personality and liven up the class. If you do your work, I wouldn't be too worried about this class, but the material is incredibly valuable so I make sure to go to this class and pay attention since it is important to learn.
Dr. Daniels is hilarious & he makes his lectures really easy to follow along. The quizzes & exams are all based on the book. Occasionally during lectures, he'd say that something would for sure be on the exam. The easiest way to pass is to just read the chapters & go to class, as there were a good amount of exam questions only mentioned in class.
Good professor! He offered many extra credits. Exams weren't too difficult if you pay attention in class and reading the textbook helped reinforce my learning. He's open about his views and I didn't feel super comfortable sharing mine, however. He made the class interesting! Arrive to class on time so you don't get a question when you walk in! :)
Instructor Daniels has too many students. Therefore, cannot adequately teach. This isn't necessarily a failing of their own making. However, feedback is sparse to none. Thus, corrections made don't equate to improvement. It's best if you don't take this Instructor's classes unless they have less workload and can dedicate time to your education.
Basically show up, take notes, do your work on time and you'll be good. Dr. Daniels is very funny, but some jokes can get old... He offers so much extra credit which can boost up your grade by a letter sometimes! The textbook is useless except during quizzes! Study the quizzes for his midterm and exam, he reuses a lot of questions.
Dr. Daniels is the best professor that you will ever have. His lectures are hilarious and entertaining, and if you participate, you'll have an even better time. His exams are extremely easy, and he allows upwards of five front and back notecards on all of the exams, including the final. If you enjoy politics, you won't find a more enjoyable class.
Awesome teaching style
Easiest class you'll take with the most entertaining professor you can find.
Awesome, Amazing, Astounding, Astonishing.
Dr. Daniels as everyone else has said is hilarious. You will probably be called on randomly at some point, so just prepare for that. Quizzes are not similar to lectures at all, but exams are fairly easy. He also allows notecards for exams.
Good professor and good class. Quizzes are online. Keep up with the notes; he posts them in Blackboard. Assignments are in the notes!
He's incredibly funny and very lenient, but he wants you to learn! If you pay attention in lecture, this is an enlightening and very engaging class!
Dr. Daniels always find a way to challenge his best students, which is something I deeply appreciate. Even if you answer a question correctly, he'll challenge you by asking for even more. Know your stuff. Take notes. Do all of the extra credit assignments. Exams are scantron multiple choice. Textbook is online provided by him for free. He's great.
Dr. Daniels is an awesome. He calls on people at random and gets everyone involved in discussions. I really liked his view on politics. You don't have to agree with him or other students, all he stresses is being active politically and being comfortable expressing your beliefs.
Dr. Daniels is probably one of the easiest professor/class you will ever take. Just do the assignments and make flashcards for the exam and you will get an A. He offers PLENTY of extra credit opportunities that if you end up with a B overall than you're basically the problem. He's really funny which makes lectures better.
Dr. Daniels is probably one of the easiest professor/class you will ever take. Just do the assignments and make flashcards for the exam and you will get an A. He offers PLENTY of extra credit opportunities that if you end up with a B overall than you're basically the problem.
Great class to take and definitely isn't work heavy and won't stress you out. Instructions are very clear at all times and if you don't get an A in this class I assume it would be a you problem.
Not sure if this professor actually reads his students assignments or just gives random grades? I passed the class but he never gives any feedback as to why you got the grade you did. He doesn't seem very involved and just gives “busy work.” One assignment will be 100 then next you will only get half credit an it won't be different than previous.
The professor was fair and clear on all expectations. The amount of work was within expectations for an online class. The only criticism I really have is that many test questions were focused more on obscure facts meant to trick or fool instead of focusing on main ideas that the notes or text supported.
