This guy was so impossible!Istayed stressed the entire semester worrying what he would come up with next.He doesnt test on materials that is covered in class and all of the math problems on test and quizzes are 10 times harder than the examples he gives in class. If you have him get out or you will be sorry! So happy it over!!! ERRR Very frustrated!
This teacher is so great. I have him for Chemistry I and he makes it so easy. He always gives lots of examples on how to do problems which really helps. I would really encourage taking this teacher. I know I will in Chemistry II if I can.
Extremely helpful, patient even if you ask the same question several times. Always available to help. He makes great use of mnumonics to help remember the material. I would recommend that you take him, he is an awesome teacher.
Very good teacher, very helpfull. Explains everything in detail, and will answer all questions to your satisfaction. Very patient, would take him again if I had the chance to
Mr. Dribben is the greatest teacher to have. He explains the material just right and is open to you after and before class for help. Chemistry is not easy but if you study and come to class then you will have a better understanding of it.
He is very kind but he expects a lot out of his students. Test can be hard, but he is more than willing to help you out.
I am taking him for CHM 1046, and I will also take him for organic one and two if I can. He expects a lot, but he helps a lot. I recommend you take him.
He's great! Chemistry is hard no matter who teaches it, but Dr. Dribben is as good as it gets. He's also a really nice guy and very willing to help (like someone said in an earlier review -- he's helpful even if you ask the same question over and over.) If you get the chance to take a class from him you really should.
I totally disagree he is NOT that easy... I made a B and he was so rude about it! I went to class everyday and took good note and studied... But when I didn't understand some homeowrk he still wouldn't be able to explain it in class.. I think he isn't that great!
It's true, Chemistry is not an easy course but Dr. Dribben gives a lot of work so that you can get points in other areas besides tests :)
I had Dr. Dribben Fall 05' for CHM1045. He was an EXCELLENT instructor. I highly recommend him for any student who is in the pre-med/dental, or engineering major. Dr. Dribben is a very well educated instructor who knows his chemistry, take advantage of his knowledge and use it to your benefit. He is a very helpful & reasonable guy!
cool teacher, makes jokes that acctually get the class to laugh. He expects you to know more than other teachers do, but also teaches the material better. Already signed up for organic one with him.
Great teacher, explains material clear, easy to understand, He is young and really connects with the students, he is a great teacher take him.
very nice, doesnt really break things down though he just gives examples instead of explantions.but one should get a decent grade because he gives extra points and assignments.
Mr. Dribben is a very nice teacher. He is understanding and makes chemistry easy. He explains alright but dont look forward to reviews cause he doesnt give them. Take him, study and you will pass.
He is not an easy teacher but he teaches the material very well and he expects you to learn it and study. He will answer any questions you have. Use his office hours any time you have a question! I took him for Organic Chem 1 & 2 and he was awesome! Just study hard and do the recitation worksheets and LONCAPA.
I love Dr. Dribben! Chemistry is not an easy class - but he makes it fun, and I enjoy his lecture. He trys to keep us connected with funny quips and stuff - some are things to help you remember important stuff. He dresses nice, too.
I heart Dr. Dribben. He is very clear in lecture, and works lots of examples (which I needed 'cuz my math isn't too strong). He is always helpful in office hours, and very patient. I personally heard several different people ask him the same question, and he always was nice to answer it. The *BEST* teacher at TCC!
Best teacher! very clear lectures and very nice. silly, but a good teacher.
I took him for Organic II lab but he is a remarkable teacher. Very clear, very understand, and really cares whether you learn the material. He always helps you when you need it and you always seem to learn a lot when you have him. TCC has outstanding organic teachers with him and Joi Walker.
Dr. Dribben is the most patient man I've ever known. I've never seen him get irritated, even after answering the same question for the 100th time. Very helpful during office hours, too.
He is an okay teacher. He was helpful in the beginning of the semester, but that really dropped off in the end. Office hours were canceled without notice the day before the test and isn't very good about emailing back. Be prepared to take a quiz every Friday.
Dr Dribben is an amazing fellow; patient, caring and knowledgeable. Show up for class and office hours and you'll make an easy A.
Very helpful professor. highly recommended. do homework, show up for class, and you will pass..
great teacher very nice and nice to look at as well as always willing to help students. I would take his class for 1046
I took Dr. Dribben for 1045, 1046 and 1046L. Dudes a baller when it comes to chemistry. he has pop quizes worth 10 pts each, but he drops the lowest 2 or 3 and those become a test average. LonCapa is challenging but he'll show you exactly how to do it if you simply ask. He curves the tests. What else could you ask for? take this dudes class!
This guy is awesome. He's kind of a dork, but you gotta love him. He's a great teacher, very helpful and fair, and he's pretty funny too. I'm more interested in chemistry after taking his class... Highly recommended ;)
Dr. Dribben was absolutely fantastic! I have never taken a chemistry class before, but he made chemistry pretty easy, even in the expressed summer. I wouldn't say its an easy class, definitely requires effort, but he helps every way he can. Responds to emails immediately, and VERY helpful if you don't understand something. Highly recommended!
Awesome teacher! High recommend him!!!!! Very helpful, always has time to help you! Class is not to hard just go and talk to him if you have a problem. Took him for chem.1
Dr Dribben is such a great professor, one of the best ive ever taken. Hes definitely not easy and his tests are hard but he does curve generously! take him and youll learn chemistry and get a great professor!
TOOK HIM FOR 1045 LECTURE AND 1046 LAB!! TAKE HIM IF YOU GET THE CHANCE!! ONE OF THE BEST CHEMISTRY PROFESSORS AT TCC!! I WISH HE WAS TEACHING ORGANIC IN THE FALL
Took him for gen. chem 2 and organic 1. Absolutely fantastic! He's know he's stuff well and make funny dorky jokes all the time. Best chemistry professor period
Best chemistry teacher at TCC, I have taken Dr. Dribben's classes for all of my chemistry classes and just had my first lab with him in organic 1. Taking organic 2 and lab with him this summer. He's not the easiest teacher but is very very good, he helps you out a lot.
greattttttttttt professor. By far the best professor I've ever had!
Go to class and take the notes! You can't complain if you fail because this guy is a great teacher, I'm recommending him to every peer of kine and I will take him for CHM 2 soon =]
Best chemistry professor in TCC. You do not need textbook because he explains things so well. He gives you around 9~11 pop quizzes which count as one test grade, 3 tests, and a final. His classes usually fill up pretty fast so register early.
Great teacher, the class isn't easy but he explains everything and if you just do the work and take notes you will pass. Don't really need the book it's a good supplement but not necessary. Doesn't take roll in lecture but does in recitation. overall a great teacher and if I was taking chem2 I would totally take him again
Taking Professor Dribben has been a good experience. He was very helpful and makes it his priority to know his students and when u dont understand something he is willing to help. I am not all that great with chemistry and i walked out with a B and he curves or scales very nicely if the average is low. He is a very helpful teacher you should take-h
I took Dribben for chem 1 my 2nd time around and i loved the experience. He broke it down so everyone could learn the material, unlike my other professor who taught like I was a chemisty major. If you have never taken chemistry before, take hom, show up to class, do teh lon-cappa and you are bound to succeed.
I took this guy based on the other recommendations here... I would not recommend him to others; he just isn't that great.
You cant give this guy a bad rating. Its chemistry. Its hard but those who do not pass are the ones that do not try. He is the best chem teacher i have ever had and would recommend him to anyone. much better than the famu teachers i am used to. he needs a raise. He is super nice and very helpful. Dont take him if u do not want the best teacher
this guy is not great after all; if u want to listen to stories about how horney chemists are and simmilar stories in the class room then take him because he is very good in waisting the class room time in silly stories and he is not quite good in explaining the stuff and he gives really hard tests and quizes; the test have high level problems
The GREATEST chemistry teacher of all time!!! yes the material is hard, but if you show up to class listen and ask questions, he makes it easy to get a good grade. He is VERY helpful in class and during office hours. If you have to take chemisrty classes and he is not teaching it that semester wait until he is. HE IS THE BEST EVER!!!!
do not take him unless your GPA can afford having C!!! gives alot of pop quizes and the lecture notes are unseless. I had to read the book alot to just pass the tests. The last two chapters are the hardest and he did not spend enough time covering them, those were almost 70% of the finnal!! the quizes were ridiculous
He is not a good teacher. I have to teach myself out of the book and go to outside tutoring. I have a 3.8 GPA and make A's and B's on everything including Calculus except for him I get a D on the tests even after hours of studying. The only time I ever understood was after going to a tutor. I care about my grade , but that is not enough here.
Those who say you don't need the book because he explains it so well are seriously crazy and they have probably taken chemistry before. The tutors are better teachers and I seriously regret taking a class where going to class, taking notes, going to tutors, doing online homework, and reading the book is barely enough to pass.
Dr.Dribben is one of the best teachers at TCC. I have an A in his class and im taking 2 math classes and a foreign lang.So im swamped with work and Ive never opened the book before but i make good grades because the way he sets up his calculations are extremely helpful and crystal clear. If ppl hate him, their weakness must be chemistry in general
Dr. Dribben is the best chemistry teacher I have had - and this is my 3rd time taking this class.
This guy is awesome!!!!! Best professor I have had so far. Would recommend him to anybody. All you gotta do is show up to class just as simple as that. He teaches very clear.
Great teacher. Must attend class or you will be lost next lecture. Easily best professor I've had. Taking him for chem 2.
Come to class, take notes. It is honestly that simple. BE PREPARED FOR A QUIZ! He does pop quizzes almost weekly. What I really like is that he writes the notes down with you, instead of a boring power point slide. I definitely recommend this professor.
Mr. Dribben is an excellent teacher. He knows his stuff and his lectures are interesting and entertaining. Really enjoyed this class, however his tests are hard. Pop quizzes means for mandatory attendance. Great teacher for serious students.
I would highly recommend him for chem for his looks/personality alone! It's just an added plus that he happens to be an amazing teacher! Definitely taking as many chem classes with him as possible!
Dribben is the man! He goes slow with the material and makes sure everyone is on the same page. His test are fair, as long as you study and attend class then there is no reason you shouldn't do well. He is also pretty easy on the eyes.
Dr. Dribben is an excellent teacher and I learned so much in his class. He breaks it down and uses many examples. The only thing I didn't like were the pop quizzes that happened almost every week. It makes you keep up with the material, but even when I studied, I did poorly on the quizzes. His tests are also difficult, but I still recommend him!
Dr. Dribben is a great teacher. The material itself is challenging so its not easy to begin with. Also he only has 50 minutes to teach and usually two weeks to teach 2-3 chapters. Its hard to grasp all the material so go to office hours. He is very helpful during office hours. Prepare questions.
TCC's best gem. Those of you with high GPA's and getting anything less than an A either zoned out or did not attend lecture. Quizzes are almost verbatim of previous lecture notes. Everything required is covered in lecture. I read half of one chapter total for an A in the class. He goes to the ends of the earth to help in OHs or recitation.
Best teacher I've ever had. Organic Chemistry II is by no means an easy class. He gives you all the opportunity in the world to succeed. He goes the extra mile in office hours and in recitation to help you understand. He definitely deserves to teach at FSU, so if you attend TCC make sure to take him for chemistry before its too late :)
Dribben is awesome! I took him for chem 1045 and he was so thorough and very clear. He was approachable and friendly so if you had a question he was glad to answer it for you. I was lucky enough to get him again for Chem 1046L, and he was just as helpful. He makes chemistry sound interesting!
the best chemistry teacher at tcc. he teaches his material very well. true his tests can be challenging, but he's the best one to teach the material. he posts his notes online. pop quizzes every week. attendance isn't mandatory but attendance for recitation is for a grade.
Great teacher for lecture and recitation! Difficult class, and tests are very different than webassign and quizzes, but he does everything he can to help you. Tests were challenging and hard to study for, but he taught the material thoroughly and passed on his energy about the subject to his students. BEST CHEMISTRY TEACHER YOU WILL HAVE!
awesome
AWESOME teacher!!! I had him for both organic chemistry 1 and 2 and I made a B in both classes! He is very willing to help you, his tests are based off of his notes, and if you don't understand something, go to his office hours and he is very willing to help you! I had a great time in his class! He is easily the best professor at TCC!!!
I had Dr. Dribben for 1045 in the spring and he's an awesome professor! He is always willing to help you with WebAssign and anything you don't understand from his lectures. Study hard and you'll do well in his class! Be prepared for pop quizzes and study for his tests, they're based off of his notes. Take him!
Mr. Dribben is hilarious during his lectures so you don't even notice the time. Do your online work and his study guides and his tests are a breeze especially if you've taken highschool chemistry. He also works with your schedule well and makes sure everyone knows whats happening before continuing.
Dr. Dribben's love of Chemistry really shows. Because of this love, he attracted more attention and engaged the students more easily. I will take EVERY Chemistry I can with him! He is amazeballs.
Dr. D is amazing.
I've taken chemistry before this class and Dr. Dribben is the best professor at TCC for Chemistry! TAKE HIM! He goes the extra mile to help his students. There is weekly HW and pop quizzes, 3 tests and a cumulative final. Chemistry isn't an easy subject, especially if it's new to you, but he teaches it so clearly. He even writes the notes with you!
I took Mr. Dribben for Chemistry 1 and I can honestly say that he will work with you. I am honestly not smart at all. I suffer when it comes to math but he help me like no other. his office hours are the best time too get help and he even recommended me to a tutor because like I said, I'm awful. I passed with a high C. He is a really great teacher
GREAT PROFESSOR!!! Has a true passion for what he teaches. Always willing to help the students, he provides much clarity. I came in not liking chemistry, but after his class I love it. He gives quizzes almost everyday, they really help your grade as long as you study the lecture notes the day before he give it.
Really great professor! He's more than willing to help his students and he's very nice, funny, and polite. He also tries to make learning entertaining so you won't feel like falling asleep during class. He's my favorite teacher I've had by far, you won't regret having him!
Absolutely amazing professor. I took him for organic 1 and 2, and he seriously knows his stuff. He's also a gifted teacher, his lectures are extremely clear, focused, straight to the point, never goes on tangents. VERY VERY good at answering questions in class, and office hours are a godsend. Tests are the normal difficulty for this level. LOVE HIM
Dr. Dribben is truly the best lecturer I've ever had. He takes the time to explain things clearly; in a way that is easy to understand. Honestly, I was "afraid" to take Chem for the longest time, but Dr. Dribben made it a very enjoyable learning experience.
Dr. Dribben is the best professor so far at TCC, he's so helpfully and he will make everything to make you pass his class! definitely I'll take more classes with him!!!
One of the best professors in Chemistry! He explains thoroughly and usually has some jokes along with it. He is very understanding & accommodating. He does give pop quizzes, but if you pretty much pay attention and do the hw, you will be fine. His notes are posted online & he is very organized. Overall - he is GREAT and highly recommended!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! caring and always open for office hours. Organized thoughts. Clear notes. Preps well for test and quizzes. Let me use half paper of cheat sheet to fill with whatever we want on final exam. Attend class and do hwk and ask Qs and you will be A okay;)
Dribben is an amazing professor. he is so funny & really wants his students to succeed. writes the notes w/ you during class. one-two 10pt quizzes a week at the beginning of class that are about 3 q's, but he's straight forward in letting you know EXACTLY what kinda problems he'll be asking on the quiz. overall amazing professor. highlyyy recommend
He's cool. Would take again.
He's very engaging and positive. It's always safe to ask questions in class, you'll never feel stupid. He's write the class notes on a projector as he teaches, this keeps everyone moving at a similar pace per lecture. He's pulls examples from real life situations as much as possible. The book is only good for practice problems.
Really good teacher! I was nervous going into the class but he really was worth taking! very clear with notes. You have at least one quiz a week and tests are not too hard
He makes chemistry transparent, and pretty enthusiastic in his lessons. Gives web assign (online) homeworks but they are easy. Attendance of course is mandatory. Doesn't give study guides for tests, but if you take notes in his lectures and pay attention, you will be more than fine.
Best instructor I've come into contact with.
If you're looking to take Chemistry Dr. Dribben is the way to go!! His lectures are very easy to understand. He also gives pop quizzes to help you understand the material. He is really flexible and always makes time to help his students.
