He's way cool, funny and helpful. I hated the idea of taking this class last summer. Don't take anyone but this guy. Funny lectures and stories that relate to text. Lots of speeches.

I hated Public Speaking. I really enjoyed Fotinos though. He made the class fun. He is VERY passionate and that's what I miss in teachers nowadays. If you can take him. You'll learn a lot. I promise.

He was so awesome and gave great constructive feedback on speeches. as someone who could NOT speak in front of crowds before, i definately feel more confident now (great bunch of classmates helped too). you're just not going to find a better professor than him.

This class is fairly easy if you show up. Little textbook use. One written test. I borrowed the text book at the library to take notes on testable material. He goes out of his way to help you succeed in his course.

Do your work, prepare your speeches and come to class to get the worksheets and to hear the other speeches. This professor is GREAT! He is funny, encourages the students, and makes the class fun. Believe me, if you have a fear of public speaking you will overcome it...maybe not completely, but you will get over it enough to speak publicly.

Great Teacher! You may enter this class scared to death about public speaking, but it is really not that bad. He makes you feel very comfortable and best of all you don't have to dress up! If you mess up in your speech he will help you through it. He will tell you to pause take a deep breathe and continue.

Was terrified to take this class, but Mr. Fotinos made you feel at ease. I never liked public speaking, but enjoyed this class very much. If I could take it again with him I would in a heartbeat. he taught me a lot about adapting to feedback and making a connection with the audience.

Wonderful Instructor! If you come to class and do all of your assignments you will do fine. He has an extremely unique teaching style that will grab you from the minute you enter the room! I have him for public speaking and he is amazing! He has a relaxed and fun classroom. If you are terrified of being up in front of a crowd he works with you to relax and over come your fears. Tip- When he says read a chapter( and you'll be tested on it) READ THE CHAPTER!!! His tests are easy if you do. Also..FOLLOW the outlines he gives. GET HIM!!!

Professor Fotinos was very understanding and helpful I signed up for his 930am class which didnt always work with my schedule but he let me sit in on his 11am or 1230pm class. Love this teacher! I dreaded public speaking, but this teacher teachers like no other! He relates on another level to students, and his passion is clearly evident. The last speech needed, is probably the best way to tie up the class. I honestly miss this class & I know everyone takin this class will love it too!

I didn't expect to like this class at all, but Fotinos was a hoot! His classes were always entertaining, and he presented info in a way so that you could easily relate to it. He was obviously passionate about the subject matter.

Fontinos is an awesome he loves to teach and is really funny. His test are hard! i dont think i got anything higher than a C BUT i did really well on his speeches. He makes you feel really comfortable and welcome. Although i did bad on his test, just make sure you study the text book. its all out of there! and alot of True/False. RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!

Not only is Fotinos the greatest teacher I have ever had, he is also one of the greatest men I've met in my lifetime. He cares for his students like no other and he is truly gifted at his proffesion. He is the ultimate teacher. Think Mr. Hollands Opus, he is even better than that! Fotinos changed my life and I am a better man because of him.

Professor Fotinos is an encouraging, funny man who gives excellent feedback for speeches. His quizzes are difficult if you don't study, but as long as you do well on your speeches, you'll be fine.

By far the best professor I have had. He is funny, encouraging, and clear. He doesn't want anyone to fail. If you are uncomfortable with speaking in front of people he is the teacher for you. He will make you do it, but he doesn't care how nervous you are. If you get so scared you cry it's okay. He is so understanding.

I put this class of until the last semester because I dread speaking in front of people but after taking this class with prof Fotinos, I regret not taking it my first semester. He made that classroom a comfortable place where judgement was left at the door and the students all felt comfortable opening up. I plan to take a class with him again!

He had exercises for the class to get to know each other, such as creating groups. With this and other activities, the class became close, and it was a supportive, non-judgmental environment to present in. The only problem was the tests; the textbook was awful. (Some advice: talk to your classmates. They will be there for you when you present.)

He's an amazing teacher, really goes out of his way for his students. His tests are flippin' ridiculous. Come prepared to have a blast but you'll need to study like a maniac and navigate trick questions. That said he's one of TNCC's finest. :)

If you're going to take public speaking, take Fotinos. Don't pronounce his name wrong. Act like a professional. Make sure the outlines are done in the right format. He provides example work that shows you exactly what it needs to look like. Make sure it is neat and orderly. Just do the work and show up and it's a very easy class.

I enjoyed being in Professor Fotinos' class and the environment we had was very comfortable. What you need to know before taking this class is the important 4 letter word: P.A.C.E. The tests are mostly in the book/ ppts, so study closely! He said he usually didn't give out EC, but did for us. I recommend taking him, trust me, you won't regret it!

Didn't even like public speaking before this class, but Mr. Fotinos related everything to real life opposed to just college life. This class is worth learning and working hard in as you will be able to use this knowledge forever. Best professor ever! <3

I did not like public speaking at all, just the thought of it would make my heart pound. But having him as a teacher for this class was the best choice I made.Coming out of the class I feel like I can speak in front of a class without looking like a fool saying "uh", "um", and clearing my throat every 10 seconds.

Fotinos is not pronounced the way you think it is. He is very up beat and will keep your attention and make you laugh. The activities we do are helpful and open us up to each other. Makes it clear what will be on quizestests so you should have no problem passing. Has helpful samples of outlines and speeches to help. Best teacher for this course.

I never liked public speaking!! But his approach is amazing! He helped us conquer our stage fright and made us comfortable speaking in front of the class. Highly recommended!!! Professor Fotinos is by far my favorite professor at TNCC. He is an overall amazing person and professor. We had 3 speeches the entire semester and he is very good at taking time to explain what the expectations were. There were a few quizzes, a midterm, and final. I would recommend his class to anyone.

Clearly the best teacher I've come across. He has amazing lectures, he's easy to follow, and you learn something new in his class everyday. There aren't too many tests, but they're easily passable if you study. Really, in his classes, you don't have kill yourself trying, but if you put forth an effort, he can both understanding and pass you.

Even if you are the most shy person in the world, he will help you in all aspects to become a more confident public speaker. There are three overall speeches that make up your grade and two tests which can be prepared for by the workbook. Don't waste money on the textbook. He will ease the atmosphere of tension into one of humor and amazement.

Professor Fotinos is by far one of only two teachers that I have ever been inspired by. He has encouraged not only me, but my fellow classmates as well. I am so happy that I took his class even though I didn't want to take it in the first place. He even inspired me to want to teach public speaking in a high school or college environment. Thank you!

I took his class because of his good ratings on here, and found out he is not all at great. The tests were not on what we went over in class. He was an okay teacher, but I have had better.

Professor Fotinos is an amazing teacher best one I've had yet! His class is pretty simple you are required read the chapters on your own time. And he shows a lot of very helpful videos for the areas we are covering. And best of all you get to play snaple trivia at the beginning of every class.

I probably wouldn't call him an easy professor, but he's not hard. He wants you to do well and is willing to work with you every step of the way. I didn't fall asleep or even start to doodle in his class once, he always keeps things interesting. He uses fun videos to help you remember the lesson. I've told all of my friends to take him class.

I only have great things to say about Professor Fotinos. He's an extremely talented teacher, and a fantastic person. He provides feedback, help, and support. He gives clear directions, and if you ignore the instructions you won't pass. He's not a tough grader, but he is a fair grader. Don't expect to get an A with the bare minimum.

He's the best, He will walk you though the whole process, but you have to ask. The entire class loves him. His daily tribune started the class with a warm welcome.

Like everyone else has said, hes great. He genuinely cares and its obvious everyday in class. Public speaking terrifies everyone, but he does a great job of creating a friendly environment that is both relaxed and professional. By the end of the semester I felt more confident with speaking in public and myself.

He was a inspirational teacher. He only assigned four speeches and each one was relatively easy. He really explained everything well.

I was so nervous to take a Public Speaking class. I was even thinking about taking this course online. My first speech I was so nervous but Professor Fotinos makes you feel so comfortable and prepares you for each speech. If you study for his exams (2) you will pass. His lectures are never boring and he is a very fair grader as well.

Public speaking is a very tough subject to try to master, it is not about memorizing or studying when it comes to getting in front of a crowd of faces to preform a speech, it is about skill and Professor Fotinos teaches you how to have that skill or fake it till' you make it. Professor Fotinos is amazing, I must say. I was super shy and public speaking just wasn't my thing. But if you pay attention, write down plenty of notes and ask questions. the class is a breeze, I don't recall him giving much homework and he is not a tough grader but you have to be willing to learn. He is very passionate about this course.

This professor is one of my favorite professors. He is very caring and he wants to make sure you pass. He is willing to help you in and out of classes. I cant even say enough of how thankful I am to have had him as my CST 100 over the summer. I would honesty recommend him. I am taking him again for another class!

This is a very passionate teacher. Big personality yet still very kind. You must follow the guidelines if you want a good grade, but he tells you exactly what he wants, so just follow the instructions and you will get a great grade. The syllabus seems very strict and stern, but he's a cool fella.

Best professor I have had so far to date. I took his CST100 public speaking class in the summer so it was a faster pace than a usual class would probably be. I learned so much, was so inspired and will never forget this class. The group project wasn't too bad either, actually kind of fun even though I hate group projects. Show up to class.

Professor Fotinos was by far the best professor Ive had to date. He cares about his students and their success very much and it shows. He is super supportive and is more than glad to help. He is stern but also fair. I highly reccomend this professor.

Professor Fotinos is the best professor I've ever had. I entered his class, mortified about speaking in public, but he makes a safe environment. He may seem like a bit of a hard ass, but he honestly isn't. As long as you respect him, he will respect you. He treats you like adults, and if you don't act responsible? You won't pass. He hates excuses.

Anthony Fotinos is an absolute legend of a human being. His class is entertaining, he's funny, so long as you work hard and show your effort you'll be fine. But he does something more beyond that; he brings students together. He is a master at his craft and if you're not comfortable with public speaking before this class, you will be afterwards.

Professor Fotinos was the best professor I had in my 3 years at Thomas Nelson. He's a phenomenal professor who cares deeply about his students &amp; by the end of the class, you'll have learned a lot of valuable life lessons. He also has 3 speeches and a group speech which aren't intimidating because he creates a comfortable environment for his class.

Professor Fotinos is the not only an amazing educator but an wonderful person in general. He cares about his students and takes great pride in his job and it really shows. His tests are difficult but he gives you all the tools you need, you just have to study. I wish I could have this professor for every class.

Professor Fotinos is super fun! His teaching style consists of engaging lectures and big picture feedback on your speeches. He goes over the requirements for the speeches very clearly and is happy to answer questions. The only warning I have is for his online quizzes and his tests. They can be specific about the online textbook, but not to bad.

Fotinos is a great professor! He truly cares about his students and their overall success. The lectures were very engaging and we did a lot of group work which brought us closer as a class. Even though we ended up online because of COVID-19, the class was still engaging! I really appreciated his timeliness of communication with my questions!

Great professor the best I have had in college makes learning enjoyable and is very fair when grading.

Professor Fotinos is hands down one of the BEST professors and overall teachers I have ever had. I would have never chosen to take public speaking. His class not only prepares you for success in college, but in life. The work is easy &amp; there are short quizs and tests here and there. But I highly enjoyed it.

I cannot say enough good things about Prof. Fotinos. Hes caring and funny and as long as you do the work and do your best you get an A. Hes an amazing public speaking professor and I would recommend him to anyone who has to take this class.

He's a tad bit arrogant but what he asks for isnt hard so its easy to stay on his good side and do great. Funny and super likeable. My favorite professor so far.

I honestly don't understand how people could give Professor Fotinos anything less than a 5. I wasn't looking forward to taking speech, especially on zoom at 9 in the morning, but he made each lecture very engaging and entertaining. He has a genuine interest in what he teaches and for an introductory class, this makes the world of a difference.

Take his class to grow as a person and public speaker! You'll become confident with public speaking, come out of your shell, and I saw improvement in classmates also. Take notes, attend, pay attention, participate, not complicated. Information provided goes beyond public speaking into usefulness to your future. This class is a success toolkit!

Prof Fotinos is awesome and he really wants all of his students to succeed. Public speaking is scary but he does a very good job of reassuring you and making sure you are ready!

Before Professor Fontios I knew that anything English related or speaking was my least favorite subject. After taking his class, he made me love public speaking. He was very considerate of others and let us give speeches of things we enjoyed. I would take him again if I could.

I enjoyed classes with Professor Fotinos twice a week via zoom. I would even look forward to it some times. This class allowed me to practice directness in my speaking and I loved it. The two speeches we had to give felt amazing for me to do. Professor gives thoughtful feedback and really tries to make everyone feel encouraged.

I absolutely LOVED Professor Fotinos! His class was amazing and he is probably one of if not the best professors I have taken from. Even though it was online his class was engaging and his lectures were well planned out. I have applied his public speaking techniques to many of my other classes and I can confidently say they have helped my grades.

I thought this class was going to be awful when I first signed up for it but Mr Fotinos made this class so awesome. You do three speeches throughout the semester and a couple of unit tests. As long as you pay attention and try during the speeches there is zero reason to ever finish with lower than an A in this class.

I do not understand who would rate Professor Fotinos a 2-4, he is a 5! He gives you everything you need to do well & easily. He very accessible by email & will help you with anything after class. There are only 3 speeches, 5 quizzes, & 2 exams. If you maintain an A in his class all semester you're excused from the last exam. I would take him again.

Prof Fotinos made this public speaking class super engaging. The speeches were manageable, and with the help of resources like unstuck ai, I aced the class. Definitely take him if you can!

Professor Fotinos has been my favorite instructor by FAR. He made a very daunting Public Speaking class super easy. With only 3 speeches all semester, with open topics, it was so fun. He genuinely cares about his students and gets to know them. He makes everyone feel more than comfortable. I would suggest him to the whole world if I could.

I really recommend this professor and class for your elective credits STEM majors, and everyone else. Prof. Fotinos gives good feedback and has the personality to carry the class time without feeling like a slog.

Probably the best professor I've ever had. Lectures easy to follow and understand, speaks well, offers thorough feedback. Assignments were all fantastic and had good reason, made sure the classroom was respectful and evoked a sense of community unlike any which I have ever seen before, albeit in movies. Graded fairly, highly recommend him.
