He is totally hot! He is pretty straightforward, his homework is REALLY easy(once you get used to HIS writing assignment every week) and his tests are pretty easy as long as you STUDY...And be careful he will get off topic easily...
Very very hot. I had a dream about him once, too. He's young and HILARIOUS. Thats besides the point. Class is pretty easy. Just do the easy assignments. Doesnt take roll. It's fun and sometimes we get to leave early even though he feels like he's "robbing us of our education" lol.
I took this class online in the summer. The questions on the test are taken off the quizzes - the writing assignments are manageable!
Course material is clearly presented, questions answered, expectations spelled out. This is a science course so don't miss lectures, take the exams seriously and you can get an A. Great professor!
AWESOME TEACHER. TAKE GOOD LECTURE NOTES AND YOUDON'T EVEN NEED TO READ THE BOOK. DO ALL YOUR ASSIGNMENTS AND YOU'LL DEFINITELY GET A GOOD GRADE. DEFINITELY THE TEACHER TO TAKE FOR NUTRITION!
good teacher
very clear lectures, tests are straight from lectures. easy class!
Really fun teacher. You don't have to show up to class, but you have to turn in all assignments and show up to finals. His Nutritions class is one of the best I've taken [:
The class was not hard, but the teacher sucks! He was very rude so I hated coming to class. Good thing he did not take attendance, so I skipped a few classes. I ended up with a B in class. The class was a lot of work too. A lot of assignments and quizzes.
Loved his class. All you do is take notes. There was only 3 test. Take his class you'll have no regrets!
Took this class online, very hard assignments. Quizes were only allows for a short period of time, then time expired and you cannot make up anything. Does not allow late work. Strict, probably will not be taking any of his classes in the future.
A lot of work:8 quizzes, 8 in-class assgnm, 6 articles, 5 diet analyses, and 5-6 exams. Never sended feedback. Don't take his class to GE.
DO NOT take this class online tough grader, quizes only allow 15min for 15questions, it takes 1 min to read the question, you cannot refer to notes you have to know exactly what the answer is as soom as you see the last word
Just took his online class and he is the laziest online prof ive ever had.i felt like we do not have any prof since the class started.the only thing he does is grade your writing depending on how long it is,i doubt if he even reads them.he deducts some points when he notices hes been giving you perfect scores.do not take him if you want to learn...
Guisti is a very organized teacher. His class is outlined from the beginning so you can see whether its too much for you or not.lots of reading.if you read the material and take the quizzes you'll do fine.the final exam, at least for his online class, is basically the quizzes put together..great class if your willing to put the time into it
Took class online and tests & quizzes are always harder in OC's(the book is in front of you!)It was actually not too hard despite how much science (Ugh) was in the book. I got help for the first proj as I turned it in wrong (no lost pts). The written assign just require more specific ans to get full cred. Not easy as I thought, but not hard either.
I liked this teacher..hated having to do the homework assignments because they seemed pointless and he didnt even read them.i liked how he didnt take roll but he was a good enough teacher that i didnt skip class much anyway. would recommend him
He is an awesome teacher!! Super easy class, and he keeps it fun. attendance is not required but helps to go to class since the textbook is never used. Very funny and entertaining!!
RECOMMENDED! Prof. has some cute OCD's that actually make the class much more enjoyable. He's always glad to answer questions (even ridiculous ones) & knws the subject. Hw was a waste of time & he docked off pts for silly grammar mistakes. Tests were usually straight forward...except 1 & final is a normal test. Notes were much the same as the book.
He is so funny. Great teacher, always tells stories. Makes nutrition easy, and asks students if they understand! He is really nice. Hardly use the text book, just do the projects. Lets you used index card on tests :) I definitely recommend taking him!
Excellent teacher. Makes the class entertaining
Horrible online instructor. Very rude when answering questions posed by students. No grading criteria given for online posts. Marks you down for using websites he does not like even though he doesn't provide a list of them in his syllabus
Great Teacher!!! Took his online class and though some homework assignments are hard, he is very helpul. Responds quickly to posts and emails and hes very polite in his reponses. The weekly quizes are hard but other homework is pretty simple. I recommend this Professor to anyone taking a nutrition class!
I took this class, mildly interested in nutrition. The amount of work involved for an online class was horrendous, especially for someone like me who is busy, hence the reason for enrolling in an online class. You can never get ahead on the homework, and there is so much work-it makes it not worth it. Not recommended prof. or as an online course.
Seems like it's better to take the actual class instead of the online class. Nice enough guy, but focuses too much on micro. Seems to want incredibly specific details instead of main ideas or concepts, which, for me, doesn't organically facilitate learning, only rote memorization that is soon forgotten.
Giusti is a very good professor. His tests were a bit more difficult than I expected but if you read your text and do your assigned work an A is not too hard to get. He is a fair grader. He is helpful and I never saw him be rude to any student like some of the comments said. If you want to learn something i would highly recommend this professor.
The most tedious online class I've taken so far. It takes the fun out of learning because you're constantly stressed out with his demanding and nit-picky details. I do not understand why he want us to drop off/mail physical papers when the class is online?!! That totally makes no sense. I wish I took Nutrition from some other Professor.
I took this class online and I highly recommend that if you are taking more than one class and have a "life" do not take an 8-week class. It was very intense, but I still managed a B. I really enjoyed Professor Giusti's assignments, but the quizzes can be a challenged because you have 2 chps. and 2 quizzes a week along with a paper and discussion.
RECOMMENDED! Prof. Great Teacher!!Makes the class entertaining Take his class you'll have no regrets!
This professor is pretty cool. Talks a lot about beans...I almost failed his class until I stepped up my game. I did the extra credit assignment that was offered at the end. That helped. I also emailed him everytime I had questions. Hes cool and always responds. He is a fun teacher. Makes class interesting but hes very detail oriented so beware.
this prof is soo funny, he makes his lectures enjoyable i reallyy enjoyed coming to his class. his tests are straight from lectores i highly recommend taking his classes!!take him for nutrition anthony is the best! and hes hot!
This teacher is pretty cool. This is a college level class. Attendance is not mandatory however u miss one class u miss a lot of information,he does not use the textbook his tests are mainly based on his lectures his lectures are clear. Not an easy A class if u want to pass the class with a good grade you must study and take good notes from lecture.
DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASS. no comment - terrible. maybe he's better in person, but he's a terrible online instructor.
Took his Summer class. Tough but not impossible. Scored an A but only due to hard work and perseverance. No extra credit (only 1 make up assignment). Grades on quality of your writing, whether you got the concept, etc. Very prompt to respond. Have clear instructions but lack of extra credit may make it difficult for some.
Took him in Fall '11 for Nutrition 300 online. Wow, there's a TON of assignments. I'm an A student but got a B in this class because I couldn't keep up with the volume of homework. I heard he's great in person, but as an online class, it seems more like a 5 unit class. DONT THINK THIS ONLINE CLASS WILL BE A BREEZE! Nice guy, good content, just LOTS
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Took his nutrition 300 class in Fall '13 and I am glad because it was not so hard. He's a funny teacher; attendance not mandatory but if you don't attend, you will miss a lot. Quizzes are not so hard, but exams are a little difficult and confusing sometimes...as long as you study, you will do fine! Talks a lot about beans.=)
Awesome Professor. Attend all of the classes, and you'll do well on the tests and assignments. I learned a lot taking this Nutrition course. He goes off on tangents frequently, but they're always interesting or entertaining. Show up to class, take decent notes and you'll get an A and learn all you need to know about Nutrition. Highly Recommended.
I am so frustrated that it is a requirement to spend $130 on textbooks for a nutrition class! I mean really why do we have to buy a book that has a collection of articles that if he just listed the articles that were published in newspapers and magazines and other forums, we could have looked up and read for free! The course itself is mundane.
Professor Giusti has a very enjoyable teaching style and is passionate about nutrition. His tests are not easy, so make sure you study hard. Content covered in this course was both interesting and useful.
The course was not too hard, but there were tons of assignments. Every week there was something to write, plus a quiz. Prof. Giusti does not accept any late assignments. Period. He gave a make up assignment, but it was harder than any other assignments so make sure you do not miss anything. However, he is fair in grading. A good class, overall.
Unorganized and very fast paced. He is constantly behind on grading and gives a very minimal amount of time on quizzes (which are to be completed every week). Would not recommend him, and I would especially not recommend his online course.
Take his class. His lectures are gold. Do not miss them. The exams come straight from the notes. There are no surprises. You have a lot of assignments but they help you learn so much. You have to study and read the materials. He is hilarious and easy to ask questions to during class discussion. He makes nutrition so interesting and fun.
He is clear on what you are supposed to do. No need for textbook, just read online with the course code that you purchase. Late on posting the grades for each assignment.
He's a great professor. He's funny and tries to keep everyone engaged. Goes off on tangents sometimes. Everyone was always very participatory in that class. No late assignments, so keep up. Long assignments, but interesting. Only one make-up and it's tough, so make sure you turn in everything. Overall, I'd take his class again.
I took Nutrition 300 online. He explains very well. FYI, if you ask him for help or send him an email, it'll take a while for him to reply. Same goes for the grades. One time, he took a break from grading assignments since wk 3 and didn't start grading again until wk 12. Even now that I'm done with the last final, he still has several more to grade
Online nutrition 300 He was a good teacher-clear and concise. Would take again
He is a good teacher. I'm taking his class right now. This course has about 4 writing assignments, 3 in-class exams, 1 take home exam, 1 final exam and some in-class activities, which are extremely easy. The exams are from your notes and text book: 50 multiple choice questions, 10 true- false and 1 writing question.
Great Professor!! Very 1st college course I ever took and he was very understanding. I turned in assignments in the wrong format and he always let me re submit later in the right format. Lectures are interesting and involves the class. Has a sense of humor but does go off topic sometimes but always related to whatever he is lecturing about.
Generally this was an easy class. However Professor Giusti's assignments are very vague. They are "fully explained", more like they are very confusing. He presents a detailed syllabus but the doesn't give you much context. Overall, assignments confusing, not much help but generally pretty easy. 5 assignments and 13 quizzes.
Overall easy class. Read the lecture slides, do the quizzes and you'll get a good grade. You will have a nutrition log to do with some assignments on that and some writing assignments as well but they are very unclear at times. If you're looking for an easy A with little course work this is the class to take.
It was a pretty easy class but since it was online he didn't really teach too much. The lecture slides aren't very helpful but as long as you take notes from the textbook you should be fine. There is an assignment where you log your diet and what you should change throughout the course but it is straightforward.
Amazing professor! Would definitely recommend him to any future students. I took his class online and it was super easy. The diet logs were a little hard but nothing too difficult. Hope this review was helpful!
I had fun in class. A lot of off topic subjects. Professor Guisti does has pretty hard exams... 60 multiple choice, 1 written section worth 15 points for a total of 75 points. He did give us a few extra credit assignments, so that made up for those. A few read and respond assignments.. those take a while to do, but an easy read and easy points.
Professor Giusti runs a great online class, 1 quiz a week a few discussion boards, and a dietary analysis projects that has a few parts to it through out the course which is very easy pretty much just filling in the blanks from what a website generates for your diet. He also gives good feedback with all your assignments submitted. Easy A!
I took Professor Giusti's online class this past semester. The chapters can be quite long, but the weekly quizzes based on the reading. I appreciated that the assignments were 3/4 of points earned, rather than exams. The essays were directly based on the chapters, and he encouraged us to formulate our own opinion. Loved taking his class!
Nothing too hard. I mean I never read the textbook, the quizzes were super easy. The discussion involved you to do online. research and be thorough on the topic, but still easy. There was a dietary analysis due every other week, super easy. It's based of your own iProfile, made by what you eat and stuff. Super easy A.
He is great in class- interesting and interactive but there is way too much work in this class. Be ready for exams, unscheduled quizzes, response papers, and dietary analysis. I thought it would be a fun and easy class, it's fun but not easy since there is a bunch of annoying work. Too bad since he's great and the subject is super interesting.
They will contact you as soon as a problem arises, they're very good at communicating with you. the discussions boards are easy, they just ask you to write informative one or two paragraph essays. you don't have to read his PP to pass the tests, but you do have to read the textbook. test are easy, as long as you're reading the material.
Professor Giusti is great. He's funny, and likeable, and genuinely seems to put effort in for his students. His only fallback is that he never covers all of the information you need in his lectures. You absolutely need to purchase and read the textbook to pass this class. He grades exams on a curve, which is always nice, and it's a pretty fun class
Professor G was amazing! His lectures are interesting and he always answers questions that you may have. He provides the chapter lectures after so you are able to study off of them. He also provides study guides for each test. He was amazing during COVID and his class was the most organized I've had. I'd definitely take any class with him.
Not much interaction . However, clear what needs to be done if not he is there for you. A lot of discussions with classmates in a discussion room. Learned a lot . COVID-19 challenge changing all learning to online. If your willing to work hard take this class.
The first post at the discussion I got graded rough but was able to figure out what the professor wants. The quizzes every week are not too hard, just read the book and his power points. Easy to pass the class.
At first was a pretty decent Prof. He would crack jokes and was really good at answering questions. It wasn't until I fractured my ankle that I realized he was rude and didn't care about my well being. I missed my one and only assignment due to my ankle and he wouldn't let me do it because "I had time to do it before hand" he also told the class...
The material in the class is pretty easy. The instructor is annoying. If you turn in assignments close to the deadline he will send an e mail and scold you like a child about procrastinating and how the class is not a "weekend class". With all do respect its a stupid nutrition class that I ended up with just to get some credits.
I wouldnt enroll with himCommunication and grading take a really long timeVery vagueBoring
Does not teach much and you should save your gpa like i did I left to UCDavis
just disgusting! if you have a choice choose someone else! it was my most disgusting class. Spoiled the whole summer and vacation! Instilled a hatred for sports and counting calories.
Professor G is G. Love this man! Made me more aware of nutrition my daily life! Take him!
Of many online classes I've taken, including English Honors, he is BY FAR the pickiest about discussion posts. Not even about things relating to nutrition! It's actually bringing my grade down even though I'm doing great in terms of homework grading about nutrition. Discussion board posts and writing assignments have NEVER been an issue for me?????
He grade so awful in discussion, without providing more context on doing the assignment.
Mr. Giusti is a physical embodiment of the Small Man Syndrome. Exclusively teaches intro level classes, that the majority of student take only for credits, but expects major-level responses to discussions as if they are part of a PhD thesis. He couldn't be bothered by giving student a 0/X grade even due to technical errors either.
Does not communicate with students outside of the occasional reply email citing fantasy-land standards as the reason for his poor grading. Zero pre-recorded lectures. Unclear grading standards. Take this class if you want to do purposeless assignments. I'd be ashamed to add Professor before my last name with the quality of teaching he provides.
Professor Giusti was very engaging and willing to work with students like my assignment didn't go through and submission date passed so he would have students email him the assignment his only negative is he gets off topic easily
Great professor.
Very tough grader. I took the 8-week class there are 2 quizzes (15 min for 15 question quizzes) every week 2 videos to watch and 2 chapters in the book to read. You make a diet log and work on that every other week trading with an essay (hard grading) (4 diet logs 4 essays) there is a midterm and the final is 90 min for 100 questions.
This professor fails to support students, lacking in constructive feedback and often demoralizing. Despite dedicated studying, exams yield good scores, but assignments are graded unfairly. I strongly advise against taking this professor's class; my first semester with him was an unnecessarily difficult and stressful experience.
He is a TOUGH grader & wants you to be VERY specific on assignments and discussions, he'll knock off 10 points out of 50. He locks assignments & opens them until 3 days before they're due, as a student that is really frustrating because I prefer to finish my homework a few days before it's due (so do other students) because of life & work.
rude, does not provide good feedback.
He always gives a lower grade, even though I followed all the instructions. I don't like that he opens access to the homework from Thursday to the end of Sunday, although the class description says that the class available from 1am to 1am.
I found this class to be extremely difficult for a 300 level course. I got an A, but the quizzes, midterm, and final were far more difficult than I was expecting. The study guide for the midterm was literally 7 pages. Be ready to put a ton of effort into the work projects, and health fact trivia. Professor was cool and easily available, though.
Professor Giusti keeps it real with his expectations and I like that about him. Don't procrasinate on the online writing assignments, they can take some time to complete but you'll always have support from Giusti if you have any questions. Other than that, read, do the work, and you'll be fine.
The professor is great at teaching, he's been doing it for sometime now. He is a tough grader but gives you detailed feedback! Not for suitable for a lazy student. I had to earn my B grade. Do the assignments early just incase you have questions. And for the love of god dont use AI
I have taken nutrition previously with a different professor and Giusti's class is 10x harder. Be prepared for little empathy from your teacher if you miss work, and be expected to do the missed work with no credit before even being able to submit the next assignment. for an asynchronous online course you will only have Th-Sun to complete your work
This was my first time taking a nutrition class and prof Giusti made the topics very interesting! He went off topic a lot in the lectures but for me it made the class more fun. His quizzes and exams are easy if you read the textbook and there's not a lot of homework. He is very straightforward with grading and is just a fun guy overall.
He is a tough grader and for an 8-week course, he really limited the amount of time we had to do certain things. Each week we had an assignment and two quizzes or a midterm/final. The quizzes, midterm and final were not available until Thursday, while each "week" of assignments started on Monday at 12:01. This really limited my ability to prepare.
When I sign up for a fully asynchronous class, I expect it to be that. However, this professor has honorlock on EVERY EXAM and QUIZ. It was super frustrating because no matter how much or how hard I studied, I could never understand the tests.
I was unfairly accused of cheating during an online test, but I followed all the rules and did everything honestly. I take my education seriously and would never cheat. This accusation is upsetting, and I just want a fair review to clear my name.
I really liked listening to his lectures he seemed like a chill dude then from what I learned it was never on the quizzes, the quizzes were so confusing. He is a tough grader never giving out 100% on assignments and almost ended up failing that class. He does not give extra credit so had to do extra studying for that class alone
Professor has amazing lectures interesting and informative but he is a tough grader we got a quiz every week and an exam every 3 week with lots of writing and other assignments.
For an intro class, this was very difficult. The professor was not responsive via email even during office hours, did not give feedback on lost points, and uses honorlock which is essentially spyware. You have to record your room, and give the program full access to your computer. If you don't like it, then your only option is to drop his class.
Very textbook-heavy, you have to read a chapter every week, and sometimes they are like 50 pages. The quizzes are confusing, and there are few to no extra credit opportunities. Additionally, each quiz requires Honorlock. Overall, manageable but definitely harder than expected.
He is a tough grader, does not give feedback on grades. Every week there is a quiz along with a in-class activity. Make up assignment is only worth 10 points. Not sure how detailed he wants his writing assignments to be since he does not give full credit on it.
