I e-mailed him at the beginning of term in a panic, when a week into term my other english was canceled. Almost all the professors that e-mailed me were rude and quick to reject my request for adding. Anthony was the only to accept my request. In addition, he made an active attempt to ensure I was understanding all the homework & class assignments.

I used to despise Engl, this teacher changed that. He is really helpful if u have any questions. ALOT of short essay readings-VERY INTERESTING/informational. Reading log(3paragraph avg)and class discussion w/ almost every asgnmnt. 4 essays, based off/guided by essay readings. In class essay midterm and final. Nice, funny- All round great teacher!

He's really sarcastic so if you're the kind of person who doesn't understand sarcasm to well then good luck with that. He's very funny and witty when it comes to jokes, but he truly want you up to understand the criteria. He doesn't move on until you truly understand the basics, but when it comes to essays yes he cares more about content.

Buy all the required textbooks because there's multiple assignments each class. Those who don't get a good grade don't try. Give all your effort you're guaranteed to pass

Great guy! Very friendly and makes everyone in class feel comfortable. I've taken 2 classes with him. I used to fear English and he's completely changed my mind. He's clear in what he expects and if you don't do it he guides you through what he want with feedback. Readings are interesting. Nothing too boring that will put you to sleep.

I had him for English Literature critical thinking. The texts he assigns were amazing and completely changed how I feel about so much in literature. There is an assignment everyday, but usually just a couple paragraph responses to the reading assignment. He's passionate about what he's teaching and really sets you up to succeed

Professor Gonzales was an amazing professor and a great guy all together. I respected him both as a professor and as a personfriend. He's extremly reasonable, friendly, funny, and down to earth. The class is pretty simple and easy so as long as you put in the effort which shouldn't be too hard. Highly recommend this class

Fascinating class! I loved every minute of it and I left class every time feeling like I learned a lot. He assigns many 4paragraph prompts (between almost every class) based on the reading assignment, but they are not difficult. He only gives out 200 points and does not offer extra credit, so every point counts. Bottom line: TAKE HIM! 10/10 prof.

Mr. G is a great professor. I was so grateful that he allowed me to late add to his class. I learned so much about literature, how to analyze it and how to critique it. He is also an amazing lecturer and there for you for any help you may need. So show up to class, do the homework and study and u will do great! (ps. hes also pretty hot to!)

If you have the opportunity, take him! He is such a sweetheart. Gives great feedback on essays and cares about all of his students. He makes you get in small groups and discuss the questions on the board. I would take his class again!!! Such a friendly and fun environment:)

He is not a tough grader

Mr. G is one of the better English teachers I've had. The reading is fast paced (finish books in about a month) and we only write two essays in the semester. His 3 quizzes are super easy as long as you do the reading and pay attention to the videos we watched in class. He's down to earth and is available for tutoring everyday of the week if needed

TAKE HIM! Hands down my FAVORITE English teacher ever. I'm not the best reader. So, to help clear up any confusion people have while reading, he has in class discussions that help explain. I see people complaining that they couldn't pass because he's heavy on attendance. Welcome to college. Grow up and go to class, it's really that simple.

P. Gonzales was hands down the best professor I had at DVC. He's so down-to-earth and absolutely hilarious. He always makes sure the classroom environment is safe for all students to share their opinion! He's also very understanding and loves to interact with all of his students! Made lots of memories in his class and can't wait to take him again!

His class is a lot of reading, but not too overwhelming. Hw is not hard. Quizzes are easy, just a lot of writing. Overall his class is easy, you just have to show up and do the work.

Hands down, best teacher I have ever had in my life. He is so inspiring, very intelligent, and will actually teach you about real issues going on in the world. Do your work and you will get an A.

P. Gonzales is absolutely one of the best professors I've ever had. His class is surrounded around engaging with others and himself and always creates a safe classroom environment for everyone. He really cares about all of his students and is so understanding. Lots of reading and quizzes are long, but if you do the work, it's 100% worth it!

Anthony was super nice and encouraging, he never makes you feel stupid for asking questions and he's inspirational I enjoyed his class. He does give a lot of homework though, so be prepared for that

Be sure to use office hours to speak to him about your essays, it will help a ton when it comes to coming up with ideas, and getting a good grade on your essays. The first quiz will be incredibly hard as its probably unlike any reading quiz you've taken before, make sure to overprepare for it by knowing each text extremely well.

Expect to read and write throughout the course. Prof. Gonzales is an amazing professor that provides you good feedback. Very considerate grader with clear criteria given ahead of time. If you take his class seriously you will definitely earn the grade you want. Be lazy and of course you will fail

Professor Gonzales online class is pretty lax. He assigns three articles every week along with 700 word analysis on those articles. That goes on for three weeks (along with 2 peer edits every week) then he assigns a quiz and then a 2000 word paper. The class was an easy A as long as you complete all the work and follow his instructions.

A great online class, if you know MLA citation you'll be fine. He provides interesting topics and has weekly assignments. Three 2,000 word essays and as long as you know how to wrote a basic essay you'll be fine. He also responds to my emails regarding thesis ideas. Three quizzes but they're easy based off of homework.

Although I am not a great writer, taking professor Gonzales's class was easy. Throughout the week expect to ready a couple of articles and write a summary for each as homework. (Full credit as long as you complete). Expect to complete 3 to 4 essays during the semester which he grades extremely fair. Lastly, show up to class and participate. Easy A

I absolutely loved Professor Gonzales. I took his online English 122 class and instructions were super easy to follow. We had one homework assignment a week and only 2 quizzes throughout the semester. We had 3 essays which were super easy and fun to write about. He responds to you quickly if you have any questions and makes reading fun. He's great!

In the beginning I may have had a tiny issue with Professor Gonzales, but in reality it was my fault. I overall made a huge connection with him. He is very understanding and gives me wonderful feedback. He may grade by a few things but he is overall a fair grader. He is not a tough grader. Everyone should consider taking him. Definitely recommend!

I took his 122 and 123 class, they were both amazing. You will read A LOT but you will get a lot of knowledge. His readings are diverse too and the assignments aren't so bad if you do your work. Most of his hw is based on readings and reflections (If you are in Puente). Make time for his hw and you'll definitely pass with an A! Talk to him as well!

This class was super easy, but there was a lot of reading. You have to do 3 2,000 word papers in the semester and a lot of homework assignments. Didn't really get a chance to get to know him very well because there were no zooms or anything like that, but when I got COVID he was super understanding and extended my deadline.

Very chill class. If you read the content each week and complete the assignments you will do great. Definitely delayed in grading, but should not be a problem because he is not a hard grader.

A REAL GEM. Prof is very easy and this class is more laid back while making you critically think about children lit. HW assignments and essays are really easy. 2 essays: 1 essay for final and 1 essay during sem. He grades a little slower, but as long as you follow the instructions, a guaranteed A

For me the work that he would assign was easy, lots of reading, essays, discussions, and overall I really enjoyed the topics we discussed. The best part of this class was the support that you get.

This class might be the easiest class I've ever took at DVC. Very light workload, only did a couple of assignments and 3 essays throughout the whole semester. You can do the topics that you're interested in. Grading and response to inbox are slow, but he is a lenient grader. Highly recommend going to his office hour. Do the work and you will pass.

Mr. G's class is something I look forward to twice a week. His way of teaching and his personality coincide and work extremely well in helping not just me but everyone else learn. I recommend him if you want a professor who not only cares but is passionate about what he teaches. I respect him in every way, shape, and form.

Super great teacher! You'll be learning about authors in every Spanish speaking region. There's only 2 big papers due, the midterm and the final.

Anthony Gonzales is a fantastic professor. I am so happy I took the class with him because I became much better at writing essays. We only had to do three essays in the entire semester, which made the workload very light. The class focused more on articles and answering questions than essays. I would happily take another class with him again.

I took Mr. G last semester for ENG 122L, he really is a great professor and is there to help you with whatever you need. We did read quite a few articles, but they were all very interesting, and the HW was easy to complete. 10/10 recommend!

Mr. G's Latin American Lit class has to be one of my favorites, even for an online class! I have him before in other classes but I strongly recommend any English major inquire in taking his other classes besides 122 or 123!

Genuinely cares about his students and is so forgiving, I noticed he is always very willing to accommodate any issues students encounter. The class itself is not difficult as long as you do the homework, which isn't hard. Just reading and discussion posts, with 3 essays he breaks down and 2 quizzes. Takes a while to grade so be prepared to wait.

Mr.G is one of the best professors I've had so far. Although, he takes a bit to grade your assignments, he provides great feedback on what to improve. I don't consider myself a great writer, but after taking his course, I've improved drastically in my ability to do so. The Pedagogy he uses is amazing, as it gets you engaged with the course.

Mr. G was great! there's a lot of reading we get through but only a few chapters from each book. All the readings are important and connected. These are used for assignments and quizzes. Personally, for me it was not hard at all, this is a college class so all of the work is reasonable. I would def take his class again, he taught me a lot.

Mr. Gonzales is a terrific professor. He cares deeply about teaching and his students and is open to working with everyone's needs, as long as you discuss it with him. There were about 2 assignments per week and 2 essays overall. Lots of reading but they're children's books, often short (books are provided). I loved this class and would take again!
