He's hot. I find his class boring but he is fine. SO it all equals up
HE IS AN EXCELLENT PROFESSOR. GIVES VERY GOOD NOTES. AND ANSWERS ANY QUESTION YOU MAY HAVE WITH REGARDS TO THE MATERIAL.
He explains everything to the max. As long as you pay attention in class and write down the notes in class you will do fine.
yes i admit it, he's hooot. But that's not what makes him good. He knows what he's talking about and gets you to be interested in the material. This is a very interesting class that requires a lot of your own opinion in order to participate in class. He explains the best way possible and will not go on to the next lesson unless you understood 110%
this professor was awesome. he was very enthusiastic and there were definitely some times when he had the whole class laughing hysterically. i wasn't too interested in philosophy before, but he made it a fun subject.
Great professor! Made the class fun and interesting. Took class during the summer, and he allowed you to use your notes for quizes and exams. So, if you need this class, I highly recommend you take it in the summer and with him. Not bad to look at either :)
I think this is a good professor. he knows the subject and you only have to attend class, write your notes and do the quizes that are open notes. After like 4 quizes you have a test from the quizes and the notes. There's no homeworks.
I loved this class and made it a point to be there for Professor Krieder's lectures - which are very oriented towards a student's interraction. There is a lot of material, but it's more than worth it.
really cute guy and excellent professor. Knows the subject and how to teach. You really don't need the book, i bought and never opened. Don't miss his classes because his tests are 100% his notes in class. I don't like philosophy so i just memorized his notes and got A+. Gives extra credit questions on the tests.
GREAT TEACHER! DO NOT BUY THE BOOK YOU WILL NOT USE IT AT ALL EVERYTHING GOES BY HIS NOTES SO TAKE GOOD ONES. QUIZES ARE OPEN NOTE AND TEST ARE EASY THERE IS ONE BIG PAPER AT THE END OF THE YEAR WHICH IS SO EASY! YOU WILL LAUGH A LOT AND THE TIME GOES BY FAST!
Philosophy is not an easy subject. There are going to be some arguments that are not that interesting, but hey he has to teach them anyhow. Very helpful, and tries to really explain arguments so that they are understood with easy. Definitely recommend him. If you want the A, get his class during the summer months!
A.J is a very cool professor he keeps you interested no matter what. Attendance is mandatory because taking good notes is a must. Test and quizess are made up of them! If i were you i will not waste my time in a 16 week class. Take this in the summer and get it over with!( six weeks only) Super Easy! And you leave out of there knowing alot.
GREAT TEACHING ABILITY, FUNNY AS WELL
Very hawt teacher. I definitely fell for his looks. He's funny, engaging, and makes the class very interesting.
funny, quite interesting and makes for interesting discussions that will keep your attention
not an easy class, be prepared to study and take good notes. he is awesome though! hes funny, and gives good lectures..plus hes hott!!!
Its philosophy. Very brilliant teacher, not boring at all, and very funny.
Ok, have you ever imagined that you could actually be LOL every 5 mins in a philosophy class? Well not me! He is awesome! And HOT-HOT! Definitively worth driving all the way to Homestead and taking a mini-term. Take good notes, use his wording on the tests and you will do great! DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! You won’t need at all!
GOOD PROFESSOR. TAKE NOTES OF EVERYTHING HE SAYS AND WRITES IN THE BOARD. DON'T BUY THE BOOK, YOU WON'T NEED IT. I TOOK HIMM ON THE MINI TERM AND WAS VERY EASY. DO NOT MISS ANY CLASS. HE GIVER QUIZES ALMOST EVERY WEEK. GOT AN A
The way he talks makes the class fun. He goes highpitched then lowwww, then looses his breath before he finshes his sentence. He has a dirty tea mug, but its still an okay class. why is everyone calling him hot??! omg
He is not the hottest thing ever but he isn't bad to look at either. It's a tough class and he's a tough teacher but he makes the class interesting and I wouldn't have taken it with any other teacher!
Very good professor I would say one of the few in MDC. However I do not think that he teaches to his full potential due to the environment he teaches, nonetheless his classes did grab my attention. And yes I wouldn?t call him HOT but I would say he is attractive, although maybe what makes him attractive is his level of knowledge and intelligence.
very smart man. he is attractive, but most important is the level of learning and fun of his class. he is very helpfull, you will have to write a 1000 word paper at the end of the term, but if you start early and you ask him for help, you will be fine. take good notes, all his test and quizes come from them. dont buy the book, you wont use it.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME Professor. Very intelligent & professional. He makes his lectures super interesting. I am taking another class with him as one of my electives because it was great. I HIGHLY recommend him. And yes, he is not so bad to look at! =)
Great professor! But you have to learn and understand the material not just memorize it. Don't buy the book, he doesn't use it. Take notes! all the quizes are with notes.
he is a great professor..!! he is really nice, his tests are graded fairly, you can use your notes in his quizzes his tests are really easy you just need to study all your notes.. ah you need to take good notes for his class because you don't need to buy the book... he is really handsome and a great professor!
Don't buy the text book you will never use it just take good notes. His quizzes and test are directly from his lectures. Great teacher who makes you think. Can be a little boring at times other then that no problems.
Don't buy the text book you will never use it just take good notes. His quizzes and test are directly from his lectures. Great teacher who makes you think. Can be a little boring at times and can also make you laugh other then that no problems.
I had him for Philosophy and Ethics, and he's fantastic. Attend every class and take good notes and you won't need the book. If you miss a class, get another student's notes, because you need to know exactly what he's talked about in class to do good on the quizzes and tests. Don't freak out about the term paper; it's not as hard as it may seem.
This Professor is very nice, and i really love his class. I really learn about "Morality" in his class. I am very grateful to have a teacher like you.
Good and funny teacher.
If your taking this class, make sure you take good notes. You will need your notes for the quizzes. His class is farely easy.
His class was pretty intense because of the quantity of material to be learned. If you take his class do not miss any days or you will miss out on notes. His class is 95% note taking and you must take good notes and must comprehend his leatures. I did learn in his class but I wish that he gave more extra credit work to help with grades. Study hard!
Very engaging professor. Makes the lectures interesting and often times entertaining. Fairly easy, but sign up because he will actually teach the material. Definitely my favorite professor at Dade so far. Everything with him is straightforward, no hidden stipulations. Highly recommend.
Great class!!! Definitely would recommend to anyone!! Never uses the book, and tests are based on the notes he writes on the board. And he isn't too bad looking...
This class actually requires some studying. It's not too easy but passable. (I got a B without studying.) Book is not used at all. All tests are based on notes written on the board. Just attend class and you'll pass!! Definitely recommend to anyone!!!
Fabiola- He is a great professor I never used the book the class is very interesing and he makes it fun. The quizes are open notes and his review is what is on the test... TAKE HIM
He's a wonderful teacher but his class is pretty rough. 5 quizzes and 3 tests as well as an essay at the end of the semester that has to be amazing to him. Never picked up the textbook. Taking notes, good notes, is VERY IMPORTANT! Don't miss class because you might miss important notes or even a test/quiz.
He is not easy. You have 5 quizzes, open notes, but you still will fail if you don't give him the right he is looking for, and 3 test. A 1000 word essay. You must take good notes and write down everything he says.
This class requires good note taking and studying. It is NOT easy, despite how fun his class is. 5 quizzes, 3 tests, and 1 paper that has to be good(Turn in rough drafts!)He's very picky when it comes to words, so make sure you know what you're writing.Overall, he's a good prof., and you get to learn a heck of a lot, but this class is NOT EASY.
He is an awesome teacher!! Took him this summer and expected at least a C and passed with a B. He's easy as long as you show up and write his notes down. No need of the book. And last, he is a very CUTE teacher!
HE IS A REALLY GREAT PROFESSOR. EXPLAIN THING VERY AND HE IS REAL FUNNY. TEST ARE NOT HARD AT THE SAME TIME THEY ARE NOT EASY. YOU NEED TO STUDY AND TAKE LOT AND LOT OF NOTE AS LONG AS YOU STUDY YOUR NOTE YOU WILL BE JUST FINE.
Great professor. Sure, he's not the easiest grader around but he's not the harshest either. He makes his class very engaging. Thanks to him i decided to minor in Philosophy at FIU. Plus, he's not tough on the eyes, more like eye-candy.
Talks fast but clear, if u can speed write you will get 100 or a high B at least, he likes ti be challenged w opinions and questions. Very enjoyable to talk although slightly intimidating cause he gives a know-it-all vibe but that's ok.
Took him for philosophy it was a lonnnnggg class but it was easy. Take him for the cram courses you can use your notes on tests and quizzes; during the regular semester you can only use notes on quizzes. Write what he writes on the board and you will be fine. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK for either of his classes.
This class is pretty straightforward. All you have to do is take good notes. His quizzes are open-note, his tests are not. STUDY FOR YOUR TESTS! You also have to write a paper for his class. He's a fun professor, but challenging. He is recommendable, however.
Good Professor! It's an interesting class, but confusing at times. All quizzes are with open notes, so make sure you take notes during class! Tests are a bit difficult, it's not multiple choice so make sure you do study! Specially your notes and quizzes! You don't ever use the textbook although it is a good source to study as well.
Love his class, he is real funny, and knows what he is talking about. The quizes are open notes, and everything he goes over is on the test. If you study and pay attention you will pass! And he's really cute!
I LOVED this guy. I often look back on my days in his class and wish I could re live them(I told you I was in love) He is funny, his class is interesting, and this is the only class in my college career that I actually looked forward to. I took him for critical thinking and philosophy. COME TO CLASS! sooo important. And take notes!Easy A.PS Hes hot
Loved this class! He is honestly a great teacher and really loves what he is teaching. I took his class during the fall and loved it. Normally morning classes aren't my favorite but he definitely made my mornings worth it. If you study, pay attention and take notes you WILL pass. It also makes the lectures more interesting since he is cute!
his quizzes are open note but everything is short answer. even his exams are short answer with no multiple choice and he's very picky with what you write down!
He is a great professor that is very engaged with his students. He is very funny and makes going to class fun and entertaining. His quizzes are open notes so make sure you take notes. Only 3 test that are are easy as long as you study. I'm definitely taking him for philosophy.
Very opinionated but good learning experience.
He was my favorite professor this semester. He keeps things fun and entertaining, he's super funny and has a good pace of teaching. He's very clear in his teaching, and makes the class passable to anyone that is serious about college.
Never miss a class! open notes quiz but you have to use specific words or you will get minus 1's and 2's which add up, our test always had to be curved , it was very challenging but i passed! even if you write down what he says you can still not get it correct you have to elaborate
Great professor, makes the class very interesting and fun. I had him for two semesters and got a B+ for both. You do have to work for your grade and you do need to study. Philosophy can be a bit confusing but he makes it easy to understand.
Very nice professor, class is interesting but you have to write down everything he says. Takes the subject very serious. Open notes quizzes but it has to be exactly what he is looking for. Will take points away for a word. Not as easy as it sounds! 5 open notes quizzes, 3 exams and 1000 word essay.
Worst professor for my college life in MDC. He pretends to be a nice professor during the class, but he is picky about the material. Even though the quizzes are open note, it won't help to find all the answers. You have to find out what he is exactly looking for.
I've taken two of his classes, and loved them both. As long as you take good notes and pay attention this class isn't hard and Kreider is both nice and amusing. I definitely recommend his classes.
Run for your life if you know what I mean!!!! s guy will make you pull your hairs out! Do not take this professor at all! He is the worse professor at MDC. Trust me on this....
He's tough. But God is he funny. This guy is goofy. Lol, he's a VERY tough grader. But He does lecture well. The quizzes are open book and the test are not. That's a problem. You literally have to memorize everything he says. No multiple choice. All short answers so be prepared. But other than That I liked the class. Also the book isn't required.
Professor Kreider is a tough grader and is very particular about what he expects. As long as you take good notes and pay attention in class, you will do okay. He makes you work for your grade. He funny and gives interesting lectures and also has knowledge of the subject he teaches and is helpful in answering students' questions.
TAKE NOTES. Every test is open note, and you will fail if you don't copy everything down. The book wasn't opened once in class, but was a great supplement on the side that I found myself reading in my spare time. 3 major tests, 5 quizzes (with the lowest grade dropped), and 1 paper. Lots of fun lectures that really made you think. Would take again.
Run for your life, He is a very tough grader if you don't write exactly what he wants to hear he will mark your question wrong, or even miss a period or punctuation then your WHOLE question is wrong. Test are all short answer response no open notes only for quizzes which are worth only 10%, which does not make a difference. JUST RUN!!!!!
I don't think I know a single person who has gotten an A in his class. It is like mission impossible just to even pass his class. Seriously. His quizzes are good but his tests are horrible. He expects word-for-word answers, besides the perfect grammar and spelling. If you don't have that he'll mark it wrong or deduct points. I do not recommend him.
I absolutely love this professor! Although he may be specific in what words he chooses are the correct ones he is amazing! He made philosophy so interesting and fun to learn about, & this is coming from someone who isn't that big into school. If j had the chance I would take him again. Quizzes are open notes and tests are almost the same as quizzes
Great professor, makes the class very interesting and fun. Philosophy can be a bit confusing but he makes it easy to understand. He's very clear in his teaching, and makes the class passable to anyone that is serious about college.
He is a good Professor. He try's to make the class animated with funny real world examples from the topics he teaches. Make sure to take notes and ask questions for clarification. He explains the different topics without showing much bias. I'd try to understand the different topics and point out their flaws instead of accepting them point blank.
Grading is done intelligently, based on actual knowledge rather than a statistical chance. Lectures last a full class with jokes and actions that are hilarious and to the point. A very good and easy professor that I would have no issue taking again. Not to forget his written out quizzes and tests are very easy to understand and answer. 5/5
Absolutly the best proffesor I have had since coming back to school. I recieved a B the first time I took Pro. Kreiders course (that hurt the GPA) but enjoyed his lectures and teaching so much I decided to give it a go for round two. It will not be easy.... but if you pay attention, participate and take good notes you will learn quite a bit.
I'll repeat this once: TAKE HIM! You do have to study in order to pass this class, but he always tells you what's going to be on the test. Also, his quizzes are open notes, so just make sure you're taking good notes! You have one term paper due at the end of the semester, and trust me- it's easier than what it seems! Oh, and DON'T BUY THE BOOK!
Take good notes and you will get an A. For the notes, write everything he writes on the board, and maybe a bit of what he explains, that's it. His lectures are pretty entertaining, plus you will learn a lot. Also, he is very accessible during office hours, and will not stop until he has clarified all of your doubts.
Took Kreider for Ethics & Intro to Philosophy and is the best professor I've had the fortune to listen to. Eloquently articulates moral conundrums. Logic-driven. Some get frustrated by his scrutiny when it comes to quizzes/exams, but his grading methods only reinforce that you have to truly think about the execution of a point you want to convey.
Take good notes its open notes test. You must study to pass!
NEED notes in order to pass this class and STUDY. Overall a great class
The class time goes by so quick, he is a true story teller and incorporates material into relateable stories. You have to attend class because all he does is talk and write things on the board, so you have to take notes. Notes will be used for the quizzes. Easy A, and a great proffessor!
Great professor. Write EVERYTHING he says in class. It WILL be on the quizzes and tests. Its open notes.
Very easy class, just show up and write everything on the board. Prepare to get called on randomly. You will have to put your head down sometimes because he will make you cringe hard. Do not buy the textbook. Try not to take him in the summer as you are stuck with him for over three hours 2 times a week. Overall, hilarious dude I would take again.
You show up, take notes of what he puts on the board, and some of the stuff he says in class. Do that and you'll pass the class with an A, considering you do the final paper. Pay attention though because he walks around the class somewhat maliciously waiting to pick off students zoned out, so always have an answer ready. Also thinks he's funny.
Taking notes is the key. Don't just copy what's on the board, write down what he says. Ask questions often and don't be afraid to visit him doing office hours. Overall, he is a very caring professor and I would take him again.
Very tough class, but if you pay attention and take notes you will be fine. Make sure you copy everything that is on the board because it is all on the test, if you do that then you'll pass the exams. Ask a lot of questions because it can be very confusing. Great professor though.
Beware that he is not an easy professor. You'd BETTER: never miss class, take notes, participate in class, and have professional writing skills when writing your final essay. Other than that, he wants to be funny, but his classes are entertaining. Do not take him if you don't want to work for your grade. The way he grades is also very harsh.
The professor is hilarious with his lectures and really tries to connect with his students. He makes the class pretty understandable with the example that he is always giving. Just try not to miss any classes and try your best with the notes since everything he says and writes on the board can come on the test or quiz.
Amazing teacher! I just wish he taught more classes. I don't even care if his classes aren't on my major.
Kreider is a HARD GRADER!! But if you study you can easily pass this class with an A. He is nice, and everything is fun and games in class but don't let that fool you, he has no mercy when it comes to his grading. If your written answer isn't exactly the same as he said it, he will take points off...
He is a good teacher, but he is a tough grader. Quizzes are every 2 lectures and then the test. You can skip class but you will NOT pass, you need to be there for those lectures. He is a nice professor to talk to, so if you need help he'll help you. Be aware, he does go off subject and you'll wonder off, so take it easy and READ the book it helps.
A lot of people struggle in this class. Why? I do not know. If you can't write using the most basic rules of English , you will not do well. Use punctuation, study the notes he gives you, and you will get an easy A. One of the most interesting classes I took. His lectures are engaging, the man himself is funny, and encourages open discussion.
Professor Kreider is a combination of hard grader and excellent professor. Taking a B with him is like taking an A. The test are open notebook, but they are still hard. Dont just copy what is in the board, you should copy what he says because he wants in the test exactly what he says.
Kreider is a good professor who is very knowledgable. He lectures every class and his test/quizzes are based off what he teaches in class. Write everything he writes on the board. You're allowed to use note for quizzes but not for the test. They're all written in, no multiple choice. He's amazing, sarcastic and funny! totally recommend.
*Hes super knowledgeable and makes it very interesting. *He writes things on the board and elaborates verbally as well. *Taking notes is a must if you want to pass or even understand. *Theres an essay due ; start early * Not any work or homework but there are quizzes and 3or 4 main exams *He is willing to help and is very funny
I would first like to say that I went into this class with good intentions, I read his reviews here with the hope that I would learn something valuable. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Not only is he a tough grader, but he is also not very helpful after class. I pride myself for having a 3.9 GPA, but after this class, I will be lucky to have a 3.7 GPA.
The best teacher Ive ever had at MDC. He gets really into the lectures and makes it an open discussion where everyone can participate. In this class theres a repeating cycle of 2 or 3 quizzes that you can use your notes on and then a test (no notes). In the end you have a big essay, as long as you try TRUST me you will pass!!!!
Hes an AWESOME professor, he makes class fun while learning. Its simple show up to class, take notes and youll pass. I gained a lot of knowledge from this course. Hes a tough grader, make sure you go over your papers before turning them in. Take his class!
Lectures are very entertaining and stimulating which made class time fun and not a drag as many unfortunately are. I would totally take Professor Kreider because of his unbiased teaching style. Usually professors who teach philosophy are biased but not Kreider. Of course,he does have his own personal views but never did I see them in this course.
He really knows how to keep your interest during class. He will not attack anyones personal views. He does not show any sense of bias. He is a tough grader, but his lectures are very thorough and immersive to make up for it. Amazing professor. If you take another professors course instead of Kreider, you messed up! I Plan on taking him again.
Awesome Professor! Treats his students like adults. Straight to the point, very entertaining material
I took him during the pandemic so it was a blended course definitely recommend him hes very fair at grading papers & definitely has great lectures uses real life examples for his lectures did not bore me whatsoever great professor!! 10/10
Prof. is a really smart guy who is dedicated to getting his students to really think about what they're learning. As such, you learn a lot from his class. Attending lectures isn't necessary, but it helps a lot with quizzes. Although the class requires hard work it's really worth it, so don't skip out on this class!
Work during this pandemic and during spring semester was hard af but Professor Kreider was considerate and he understood the assignment!!! Unlike other professors during the pandemic , he was actually fair . Youll pass as long as you do your work.
Awesome Professor. Recorded all lectures during covid so you could watch later. His lectures are low-key funny and I think it was with out trying. Lots of papers and work, but you do learn a bunch of interesting concepts and history. I recommend him over the other homestead campus ethics professor (shall not be namedNIGHTMARE). Just do his work
Did not think I would like philosophy this much but Kreider made it very fun with his funny and interesting lectures. A great professor take him if you can and you will enjoy this subject as much as I did.
Professor Kreider is hilarious and charismatic when it comes to lectures. He's very straightforward when it comes to quizzes and tests, but he's also extremely picky with answers. It's best to attend every lecture and study your notes closely. Overall, it's an enjoyable class, and I highly recommend him.
Kreider was an AMAZING ethics prof. Took him in a mini-term and regret not taking him in a full term. Allows you to use your notes during quizzes. EVERYTHING he talks about in class is important. I wrote down pretty much everything he talked about and passed every quiz. How you word your answers is very important to get the point for the question.
Best professor hands down, I was never bored in his lectures and was originally going to take a music class for an elective for an easy A but after taking critical thinking and ethics with him I switched it to Philosophy to have another class with him. Great lectures and very funny.
Just finished his class and am going to miss it, he has the best lectures out of any professor I've had, he's funny and he always makes you think. No other class compares and I'd take him a third time if I could
This professor just wings this class. No syllabus. Rambles every other sentence. Grades correct answers incorrectly. Give out bad grades for correct answers. Avoid this professor if you can.
I really recommend this professor!! Amazing lectures. Attendance is not mandatory but I recommend you don't loiter and miss class without reason, each note that you take in his class is essential to pass the exams.
He is very passionate about philosophy, if you like thinking outside the box take this class with him
One of the most interesting and thought-provoking classes I have taken. Would recommend you take as many classes with him as possible.
Kreider is an awesome prof. Super intelligent and very knowledgeable. The class is thought-provoking and challenges a lot of core beliefs. The class is definitely passable if you attend and listen to all lectures. There are only 3 exams, 6 quizzes and 1 paper assignment, and everything is written answer questions.
Kreider is an excellent teacher who makes understanding his topics easy. The course does have a lot of homework and three tests. the course can be difficult but as long as you pay attention during class and do the homework the test shouldn't be a problem. He is a respectable person and pretty funny at times I would recommend him.
Kreider is a great professor. He's a tough grader but is willing to give great feedback so you can improve. His lectures are great, keeping students engaged. Attendance is mandatory to pass.
Kreider's lectures are engaging and thought-provoking. Attend class, stay focused, and use unstuck AI alongside the textbook to excel. The workload is manageable if you put in the effort.
Awesome professor. His lectures are great and really interesting. No homework, just a paper due at the end of the semester. Quizzes are open note. Tests are not but if you pay attention to the lectures and study a bit you'll be fine. Would 100% recommend and take him again.
This guy is horrible at explaining things. He looks at you with pure disgust if you don't understand. He lectures a ton! He doesn't know how to differentiate when teaching. In fact, he expects you to get it the first time around and he has little patience for slow learners. Taking a class with him is absolutely traumatizing! Choose wisely!!!
Great Professor, his classes were really entertaining. Only 4 exams and some quizzes but it was open notes and he clearly writes on the board what is going to be on the exam. A final paper but is gives you weeks ahead to complete it. His classes are not boring and even funny. I'd highly recommend to take him.
This guy was a great professor. I took him in the summer mini term and he lectured the whole class but kept it very entertaining. Open notes for quizzes and exams but i think due to the short term. I would suggest him for mini term not full one to be honest but he is a funny guy and you won't be bored listening to him lecture.
Honestly, the professor himself is not bad. He's a chill teacher, doesn't really care if you go or not but saying that..you HAVE to go. You won't pass his class unless you attend his lectures. there's 6 quizzes and 3 exams with one final paper. He's a rambler. I just wouldn't ever recommend taking philosophy AT ALL
I failed the course honestly that was due to my self. Attendance isn't required but you need to attend the class in order to pass. I got an 33% on my exam. I honestly don't like philosophy but You should take it.
