Interesting name. Right now, Madonna's class is fairly easy. He posts the slides online, and he usually makes the class enjoyable. I like history, but the material included in the 2nd test was BORING. Simply, the class is easy and the professor is not that bad. Nerdy but not bad.
Prof. Madonna is hilarious! I loved the class and it was really easy. The textbook is helpful, but not a necessity (except for breakout sessions, where pop quizzes on reading are common). I recommended this class to all of my friends... wish I could take it again!
Not a hard class. Attendance at lectures is not required, and he posts the notes online. The tests come from the notes, and studying the book isn't really necessary. You do have to attend your breakout session and do the reading, but it's really easy. If you try, you can get an A.
One of the easiest government classes as long as you study the notes and skim the textbook. Listen in lecture, helps a lot. Madonna has a lot of corny jokes and his class would probably have been more interesting if it was smaller, take his honors if you like politics and debate, not possible in class of 300. No excitement, despite election season
This was a ridiculously easy class. You dont have to go to lecture at all if you dont want but its always good to stop in since he talks about random people (senators etc..) that show up on the tests. Read the book and the slides online and you'll be fine. There's a website for the book too that is basically the exact test he gives you
Great class, great professor. I had heard nothing but awful things of pols1101 at UGA--all the professors sucked and the tests were hard.. no way with Madonna. He was great, funny and very straight forward regarding his expectations. Not to mention, he's not difficult to look at. Take his class, you won't regret it!
SO HOT. plus class is easy...everything you learned in highschool. just go to class occasionally cause hes cute and interesting.
easiest class I took this semester. Easy A as long as you go to section and study the terms in the back of the book. If you go to class you are fine but you don't need to. you can get his notes online. recommended
I was so lucky to have Madonna, i despise polysci and hated the idea of having to take it but he made it much less miserable. He really tries to catch your interest during lecture and always adds humor to it, while still staying on topic.
Dr. Madonna's class is easy! his tests are short and to the point. To do well in his class, you got to read the assigned chapters and understand the concepts. However, I really hate the breakout session....there were some pop quiz and readings...but overall the class was easy.
Good Class...Madonna trys to keep class entertaining and relevant with current events. Tests are not bad as long you read the material in the book, as not all questions come straight from the notes. It's very possible to get an A if you do the required work.
Class is not hard at all. A lot of things comes down to the TA. I had Clary and he seemed to be the only TA giving out homework assignments. The TA's are the ones who grade the test and my TA could be anal on the test's short answer questions. Other than that, Madonna is pretty easy. Just study the online notes and the keywords from the book.
I really liked Madonna. He made it easy to pay attention to with slides and he can be really funny sometimes. The course requires studying but its not hard. Just alot of info. Basically you can get an A if you try. He posts all the slides online. I would take him again!
The best Prof ever!!!
Really nice guy, but TERRIBLE CLASS. Came out of it feeling like I didn't learn anything. This obviously wasn't his teaching strongpoint/ speciality. Tests were average difficulty, so that wasn't the problem. There is an attendance policy, but he usually forgets to pass around the attendance sheet so that's not a big deal.
Reasonable test - Multiple choice and few short essay questions. No homework other than reading. Very helpful (& attractive) professor. I enjoyed this class because I actually understood the material & felt the class was very fair.
SUCH an awesome teacher, and he's hot! loves to crack jokes and laugh at himself, is able to relate to everyone, and is always available to give help. favorite teacher that i've had so far!!!
Madonna is a cool dude, very intelligent, and really nice/helpful. 1st test was easy, 2nd was hard (curved), final was in between. Attendance killed me b/c it was morning class but he didn't stress that grade too much. Research paper is not easy, but not hard (know what he wants, do the work, and you are fine).
Dr. Madonna is awesome... Hes a really nice guy and he's really helpful. I enjoyed his class much more than I thought i would. I am taking him again this semester, because I like him as a person and because his teaching style is cool. His tests are not too bad, but his paper is tough. He is always willing to help if you just go ask. Always come!
Dr. Madonna was a great teacher! He was crystal clear, funny, and very helpful. If you're ever confused, definitely ask him for help, because he's so friendly and loves when students interact in class. Study his lecture notes for the tests (he even puts them online!) I would definitely take him again.
Subject is so boring. I only come on test days and to breakout. Manage to pass every test though. Study powerpoints and read book than you should be fine.
Considering the subject, he is pretty interesting. He likes to crack jokes and laugh at himself. He keeps you interested. He also relates things to current events and also shows a lot of funny videos. Grading depends on the TA, so it could be bad or good. Make sure you read the chapters though. If you do, the tests will be a breeze.
Dr. Madonna is pretty easy-going, so lectures aren't too bad. Breakouts are a pain, but that's to be expected. If you have to choose a POLS1101 class and he's an option, I'd take him.
PoliSci is really boring, but Madonna triese his best to make it interesting. Three tests and a final. The tests aren't too bad, but you do have to study a decent amount for them. His lectures are straight from the book, so I never bothered reading.
While I have little interest in politics and took this class just to graduate, this guy is the teacher you want, regardless of your focus. His lectures were fun and very useful. He posts the slides online and they're directly relevant to the test. Tests are average-easy as long as you study a few hours. His TA's are pretty good too.
Very passionate about his subject. Funny and easy-going. Tests are ok. Reading is MANDATORY. Final is cumulative. Quizzes every break-out session. Gives free points on tests. Ok class, but I wish the final wasn't cumulative.
Had him for Legislative Process. Great class - sounds boring, but Madonna is a cool dude, really chill and laid-back. Tests weren't bad at all, and the research paper was actually enjoyable for once! He manages to take an extremely dull subject and keep it interesting.
Dear Freshman, Madonna is teaaching POLS1101. TAKE HIM. He is a chill guy who will help you out a lot. He's funny and really passionate about political science. He makes boring material fun and interesting. Don't miss out!
This class isn't too hard. Madonna is a really enthusiastic lecturer who was very helpful when I got a little bit lost. There is a large focus on game theory and spacial modeling at the end of the semester, which would probably prevent me form taking this class again. We also had to write a twelve page term paper.
Madonna was extraordinarily enthusiastic and interesting on each and every day of class. He was quite passionate and made me want to show up each day, despite not being too interested in the subject. We watched a good bit of SNL skits, Colbert Report clips, and Daily Show pieces and had a news section at the beginning of each class.
He's very passionate about the subject. I hate POLS, so I struggled in this course. I found that my break out prof. was more helpful. His tests are difficult and he says that reading is required, but as long as you go to class and breakout, and study vocab, you'll be good.
Great teacher. Really likes to connect with students and has an awesome sense for teaching and a great sense of humor. Highest recommendation.
Great class for first semester of college, Dr. Madonna is very approachable. He ties the course into current events and gives you every chance to do well. Attendance policy varies by which TA you get. Read the book, just sit in the class and you'll do fine.
Great teacher. Poli sci is probably my worst subject but he is very engaging and reasonable, and the TAs are helpful as well. Have a friend in the same class with a different teacher and he is struggling. Madonna is the way to go with this class being a requirement especially.
EASIEST POLYSCI CLASS YOU CAN TAKE. madonna is so easygoing and laid-back. Attendance is not mandatory.. and all the Powerpoints are posted on his website. Must attend breakout sesssions though because of quizzes. Only 3 exams and a cumulative final. I hate polysci but this class was so easy. take it!
Madonna is a great professor! I'm a political science major, so I was already interested in political science. He is really passionate about this subject, and he teaches on a level everyone can understand. Honestly, the class is not difficult. He posts all the power points online. You have to attend breakout, but it's not hard. Take this class!
This class was definitely the easiest class I have taken. Madonna is laid back, and quite funny. All the powerpoints are online and he follows the book exactly. He gives the short answer questions out before the test. Breakouts can be either helpful or really tedious depending on your TA. I would definitely recommend taking this class.
He's a really good professor, all his content is online and from the book but he makes the material interesting and is a very engaging professor. He also replies to emails promptly and answers any questions. The test aren't too hard and with a few hours of studying you should be fine.
Although I didnt get a lot from his lectures, he gives you reading for all you need to know on the test so as long as you read you'll be fine. Also, if you're struggling with a concept and stop by his office he's happy to help you one on one. There is a 12 page research paper that wasn't the easiest, but other than that good class.
Madonna is really enthusiastic and tries to buddy up to his students, but the material is pretty tough to grasp. On the first test he took off 6 points on my essay because I was not specific enough when I had a page written down, so sometimes he doesn't give clear instruction. He's a nice guy but made this class harder than it needed to be.
Lectures are usually pointless, however attendance is mandatory, which sucks. The class is very easy if you do the assigned readings.
Professor Madonna is funny, energetic, and passionate. The first half of the semester you are supposed to read the book but if you just go to lecture you should be able to get by without it. Definitely go to lecture the second half of the semester. Overall, he is a great professor and his class isn't very hard as long as you pay attention.
He's a great teacher. There is one long research paper at the end of the semester but he gives lots of help and it's really meant to help you. He's always there if you don't understand things and LOVES to help his students through college. Very interesting lecturer. He's funny and engaging. Would definitely take another class with him.
Madonna is the best POLS teacher I've ever had. He starts off class with SNL videos and news stories. He goes quickly during lectures but if you ask questions he explains stuff. Attendance/participation is part of your grade. He's quirky but really funny and passionate and he wants you to succeed. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat.
Maddona is great as a prof and person. His class starts with real world news and skits from John Stewart. PLEASE choose the right time. I took 8am and struggled to make it to class. This seriously affected my grade (which he warns about at beginning of term). Just do the paper asap. Would love to take again and drink freskas with XD
The tests can be super hard but he pretty much always curves 6 or 7 points. Really fun to listen to in lecture but most people don't go. Powerpoints are online and he gives you test short answer questions in class.
This class was super boring, but because I don't like Politics. His powerpoints and reading the book is all you need to do to pass, so you don't even have to go to class. I would take him for credit.
Madonna is really entertaining and he tries to make class fun. There are 3 tests and they aren't too bad, but as he'll warn you, the middle one is the hardest. He gives you essay questions before hand. Downsides are the mandatory breakout sessions and unlike most other POLS classes, you can't exempt the final.
Pretty good teacher. He just lectures in class which is boring but he makes everything very clear. Youll have to study and read a good bit for the 4 tests but he tells you exactly what you need to know. No homework, only 4 tests, no final.
Don't expect to learn anything in the class. He is one of the funniest teachers that I have ever had but at the same time, he talks about anything in class but the actual material. YOU HAVE TO READ the textbook and each test would be very easy. I studied at least 5 hours reading the textbook and made 95 above on all three tests. Would recommend
Easiest A I've gotten at UGA. Read the book and show up to class. Madonna is really straight forward about what will be on the tests.
Madonna is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. He's incredibly friendly, passionate about his work, and so willing to help in any way he can. Take Madonna for any and all classes you can!!
Madonna is easily one of the best professors I've had for a non-major class. He obviously cares about what he's teaching, and encourages questions and opinions. The breakout session once a week is crucial to your grade, so go. The tests are straight forward, and the final is optional. Your only grades are tests and your breakout attendance.
Dr. Madonna is super cool and super hilarious. He's very energetic so his lectures are interesting. I went to almost all of them and using just his notes got A's on all the tests - he says you need the textbook but I never even got it. If you miss a class or want to get ahead, all of his powerpoints for the semester are on his website.
The way he teaches is not engaging. Read off the slides and that's pretty much it, boring lectures and hard exams.
His lectures are always interesting and new, but only cover test material for about 20-30 minutes of the class. It helps to have a good T.A. for breakout. Tests can be difficult, but one gets dropped. And the final is cumulative, but counts for a regular grade.
I took Madonna in a 300 lecture hall and didn't gain anything from it. All of the power points are on his website and if you go to breakout you should be fine. Test are a little difficult, just prepare in advance.
OMG I LOVE HIM! Seriously, take Madonna!!! If you actually prepare and study well for the tests, you should make A's or high B's on all of them. Only has 3 tests and 1 final, and you can drop one of those. No attendance, no homework, no effort except studying for tests. He's young & very knowledgable, but knows most people don't care about POLS lol
lectures are so boring, half of the class doesn't show up after test 1, he reads straight off powerpoint and theres not attendance so no point in going really. there are 3 tests and a final and they are difficult, one gets dropped. breakout session has participation quizzes. lecture notes are dumb, so i read the whole book basically. cool dude tho
Wish I would have taken more advantage of such a great professor. He's very down to earth and a good guy. The course requirements are fairly outlined at the beginning of the semester and it's up to you to put in your half of effort. I goofed around and got a C but if I tried I could have easily been much better.
In class, we never actually learn the information on the tests. We probably spend 45 minutes in a 75 minute class talking about current news and the research proposal paper. He is hilarious and you can meet with him during your office hours. However, the tests become difficult because the lectures aren't filled with information on the tests.
Professor Madonna is such a character. He's really down to earth and his class is based on discussion. I only took him for a research course but he was very clear on how he would be grading us and was almost always available to meet outside of class if you needed to. Would definitely take him again
Prof Madonna is very funny and quirky. He loves politics, and will often go off on rants about things. Tests are pretty straightforward if you read the book/do online quizzes. He gives essay questions a class in advance.
Probably my favorite professor thus far. Super funny guy, very knowledgeable in his field, and is straightforward about what will be covered on the tests. Always quick to respond to emails and questions.
He was an awesome teacher who was so nice and easy to talk to outside of class. His lectures were so fun and we almost always watch political satire before the lecture. Its easy to skip since theres no attendance but you should really try not to because attendance will help. The tests are tricky, so you really have to work to even get a B.
I really liked Madonna as a person! Insanely passionate about political science, and his commentary was honestly so funny. Overall though, the class was just okay. Exam questions were usually a combination of powerpoint and textbook material (do the online quizzes!!), but there were enough unpredictably hard ones to keep you from making an easy A.
He was fine. He did his job and that's it. The TAs were a lot more useful with information during breakout sessions. You can skip the lectures and be fine because he just goes over his slides in class.
I had Madonna for Legislative Process (POLS 4600) and liked him so much that I took his Honors class even though I am not an honors student. POLS 4600 is great and so is he. The tests are not bad at all as long as you study. The first test is especially easy and then the second is harder because you have to comprehend the readings assigned.
POLS 4790H: Took him for the Congress Project class and was a huge fan. I hate coding, but I loved Madonna. Learned a lot and really enjoyed the class. Would recommend. He also give extensions when you need them which is nice.
Madonna was a great teacher. He honestly loves what he teaches so much and even though attendance isnt required, I would just go to class to watch him enthusiastically teach. Tests are fairly easy, but you do have to put some effort into it. I definitely dont want anything to do with POLS ever again, but would take him if he taught something else
Madonna was hilarious! The lectures get pretty boring, especially if Politics isn't your thing. But he engages with his students. The tests make you work for an A, so you really need to take time to study if that's your goal. He's very easily reached to discuss past tests and seems like an all-around nice guy.
Madonna gives pretty funny lectures and he understands that most people taking his class are only there because it's mandatory, so it's not too bad. Study terms and his slides from lecture for exams and you'll be fine. If you actually try in his class you'll get an A, I was just lazy.
His lectures are really good and if you show up to them and read the book you should do really well on the tests. Make sure to go to his office hours too because it helps to go over material before the exams. I went to his office before three of the exams and I got a letter grade higher than what I was expecting. He's also really approachable.
I took POLS1101 with Prof. Madonna as a Maymester. He was super considerate and his lectures were never too boring. He always had bonus questions on our exams, dropped our lowest exam, and even curved all of the tests (final included). Not an easy A, but if you try you will get an A! If you still need to take POLS1101, take it with Madonna!
Dude is really, really into political science. I mean really into it. His class isn't hard and you don't really need to show up just read through the book and look at his powerpoints. The biggest factor is your TA. Some of them can be super extra and assign alot of work.
tests come from textbook a lot so need to read it. but they're honestly pretty easy as long as you study some. he gives you essay Q's ahead of time. also will drop one test or final which is nice. Madonna is legit crazy about pols, very funny. breakout session no work depending on TA. definitely would recommend if need to take pols!
Madonna is absolutely amazing but he rambles a lot and I really suck at government so I struggled a little. That's a personal problem though, if you need POLS, take Madonna
Tony really is a fantastic lecturer. He has three tests and a final, and he drops the lowest grade. I had an amazing TA who helped us make a study guide that was pretty spot on for the test. All of my friends have also had pretty good TAs as well. Pretty solid choice for POLS.
Professor Madonna was great! Your grade in this class is completely up to you- 90% of your grade is 3 exams and the other 10% is participation/ breakout session attendance. He is a great lecturer but the more you study, the better you'll perform
Madonna is awesome. Very entertaining lecturer and the research for this class was not difficult. Very easy A.
This class grade is basically what you make on 3 tests. The test was ok, but I wish I picked a better teacher. I had a good TA though, but we had quizzes in our break out session.
Madonna is the best. This class taught me how to do research, and I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought. He gives great feedback on writing and his lectures are entertaining and concise. I would recommend him to anyone.
Madonna was a really cool guy, but it's really just about the TA you get. My TA gave great study guides which helped, but the actual tests are insanely hard and make up 90% of your grade. Start studying vigorously at least a week in advance with this one!
Literally love Madonna. He is arguably my favorite professor I have ever had. He puts in SO MUCH EFFORT giving you feedback that if you get a bad grade its honestly on you. He makes class fun to go to, and he is very laid back. He will go to the ends of the earth to help you. Take him. The class is by no means impossible. Work hard & youll get an A
Madonna is the single best professor I have ever had. If you ever need help he is always in his office. I really got the sense that he cares about all of his students. He keeps his class very interesting and gets to know each student individually and will remember your name and personal things you tell him. I loved everything about this class!
I love Dr. Madonna but didn't love this class. I would recommend knowing what you're getting into with the research for this class rather than just jumping in because you like Madonna. Otherwise though he's a great guy and you always laugh and learn something when listening to him!
Professor Madonna is great! This was a very interesting class because it was small and allowed for him to really dive into some political topics. It takes a second to get used to his lecture style, but he is a great teacher. Additionally, he is very easy to communicate with and makes time for office hours. There are two exams, a paper, and a final.
He's a solid guy, funny and knows a lot about what's he's talking about. I actually paid attention in his class and my grade reflected that. He also gives really good feedback on the assignments and helps you with whatever he can.
Professor Madonna's passion for political science is made apparent during his lectures. Even when covering more boring topics, he makes an effort to keep the class engaged. Madonna's exams aren't too hard as long as you show up and pay attention. He's a very nice guy, and I'd highly recommend taking a class with him.
Professor Madonna is truly a gem! He is always prepared to help one of his students in need whether it be regarding the subject he is teaching or outside references such as internships, etc. Amazing lecturer and an even amazing person overall! There was a textbook but we only used it for half of the semester and he uploads other readings!
Professor Madonna is super engaging and funny and I always felt comfortable asking him questions. I just graduated and needed help finding something for my job and he responded with a ton of helpful resources. He really cares about his students and is a great mentor both in and outside class.
This man is gold for the SPIA. He's very well respected by students and colleagues. He's kind, caring, and freaking hilarious during his lectures. I took him for a Maymester during Covid, and with all that went on he was very lenient and understanding. Take him before his class fills up!
I took POLS 4600 as an online Maymester. In addition to having to adapt the course to an online setting, this was Dr. Madonna's first year offering the course as a Maymester. Despite this, I had a lot of fun in this course. Dr. Madonna was super funny and made attending lectures worthwhile. The content was super interesting and easy to grasp.
Professor Madonna is my favorite teacher I've had at UGA so far. It is obvious how much he cares for his students. He is always willing to help and is very accessible. He loves his content and has a genuine passion to share it with the class. His lectures are entertaining and I would strongly recommend you to take his class!
Professor Madonna is fantastic. He is incredibly understanding and is willing to give extensions for large assignments. The assignments were in depth and difficult but were interesting. Would take again.
Dr. Madonna is the BEST--take his class for highly entertaining and informative lectures and a doable amount of reading. His teaching style makes you want to learn and participate, and I'm so happy I get to take a second class with him!
The class is mostly a big project about an assigned piece of legislation. There are lots of sections to this but overall it is not hard. Due dates are just suggestions to help manage time. The two exams in the class are excessively long. Madonna is a wonderful lecturer and really cares about his students. Take him if you can!
Dr. Madonna is one of the best professors I've had so far at UGA. His lectures are funny and engaging. He cares greatly and is more than willing to discuss anything with you in office hours. This class centered around a writing project; if you want an A on it you will need to put in significantly more work than your peers, as it is curved.
Prof. Madonna is clearly passionate about what he teaches and is very devoted to helping his students succeed. This class did not have heavy reading or homework and prof was very flexible regarding due dates, tests, etc. Final was open note simply because we asked if it could be. Great guy, great (& easy) class.
I have taken two classes with professor madonna and both have been relatively easy. The midterm and final are open note and you get an entire day to complete it. Deadlines for the paper are not final and he is extremely lax with late work/extensions. He gives good feedback and tries to make lectures more interesting. definitely recommend.
Dr. Madonna is really hilarious and makes the class very fun and engaging. He is very enthusiastic about the material as well. My only complaint is that he flies through material which makes, particularly the game tree exercises, a little difficult to grasp. Other than that I recommend him.
was going to graduate w a 4.0 before taking this class. prof was super nice and really passionate but the lectures were so incredibly boring and so hard to sit through. tests are open-book/ note, online, and take home but take hours to complete and the paper at the end of the semester is one of the longest essays I have ever written and sucked
First test is super easy, but for the second section pay attention to the readings and make sure to understand exercises. Super accessible during office hours, but make sure to work on the final paper early because the deadline for it does creep up after the final exam. He does give extensions though, but he helps a lot if you start early.
Professor Madonna is good crazy in all the right ways. Super funny, caring, and easy to connect with outside of class. He works hard to make lectures engaging and applicable to the specific folks in his class. Start studying for exams early! The second half of the class has content that REQUIRES consistent practice, but you will be just fine!
Very passionate about the class and approachable. Graded on attendance, 2 tests and a legislative history paper. The lack of hard deadlines was actually a negative imo (I ended up procrastinating HARD). Tests aren't horrible but take HOURS to finish. Not hard to get an A if you manage your time well and ASK QUESTIONS!! He's happy to answer them!
Madonna is super caring and accessible outside of class - you can tell he really cares. Second half of the class requires attention and participation or else you're due for a really rough time taking the second test. DO NOT procrastinate with the paper. I did and it was such a stressful experience. Madonna is a great prof though!
Great teacher. Very flexible with deadlines and always offers partial credit on the written portion of exams. His subject matter is somewhat dry but he does a great job making it entertaining. Super down-to-earth and approachable guy. Not bad looking either! :)
Professor Madonna is very passionate about Congress, and it shows; however, I think sometimes he can get too caught up in minute details and does not spend enough time teaching about the actual legislative process. Most classes are hard to sit through due to lack of discussion. Nice guy, incredibly passionate, not the best class.
Love him! He is a great professor and wants to see students do well. Class is fairly easy, but if you don't understand he is more than willing to help. Would def take him again
this guy is the actual goat! he's so funny and makes a seemingly uninteresting pols class (if ur not a pols major) pretty entertaining - i really appreciated how engaging he was with the content which made class more fun. he is a bit of a hard grader on essay questions on the exams / on the final paper. but overall great guy i would recommend him!
This is a tough class, and you're only grades are two tests and a paper. That being said, he makes class super engaging, and as long as you put time into the paper and studying, you'll do fine. Take lots of notes to study off of. He gives the long answers to the test before and gives you a lot of material to help prepare for the tests. TAKE HIM
Really great professor. Grades are only two tests, a long paper, and attendance, but class is super engaging. He is very knowledgeable about poli sci, and has a passion for teaching. He likes to show entertaining clips and talk about current events. Tests are hard, but it's worth it. Also difficult to tell his ideology, which I appreciate.
Get ready to write, there is one legislative history paper at the end of the course and it is actually insanely long. But such a nice professor and very understanding and funny. I was late to turn something in and he still accepted it full credit. Two tests, but you can do corrects for 1/2 credit. I loved him, have differing opinions aboutthecourse
The class was pretty easy for 90 percent of the semester. You show up, talk about the slides then leave. I am a pols major and have taken 4000 level courses. I have taken countless pols classes. This is my first one with a very long term paper and a final. It makes the last two weeks of class terrible. Get ready to cram
Madonna is a great professor and super passionate about congress and politics. He is very helpful whenever you need anything and will even set up a zoom with you. The only downside was the legislative history which was a VERY long paper. It is unfortunate that we do not have any grades yet (5/6) but you can pretty much figure out what you have.
Dr. Madonna is a Great Professor. The lectures are really interesting and funny and I would say prepare you well for the 2 tests in the class. I found the tests to be relatively easy. There is a 1 long legislative history paper which isn't that bad if you do not procrastinate (I procrastinated on it) but he is super helpful on it.
He was a really great professor, but be aware that the majority of your grade falls in the last few weeks of the semester. The majority of the exercises are shown in class though be prepared for the second exam with these exercises perfected.
Dr. Madonna is one of my favorite professors I've ever had. His lectures are phenomenal and I learned so much. It is a tough class, but he will help you through it.
Professor Madonna has been my favorite teacher so far. He is very understanding and easy to reach outside of class. The grading is made up of attendance, two exams, and a large paper. Exams are reasonable if you study and practice. Do not procrastinate on the paper, it is lengthy but doable. He gives extensions and good feedback. TAKE HIM!!
This is an advanced class about Congress and policymaking, so be prepared to WORK. With 2 exams, one is required and one is optional. They are long and divided into sections. Half of your grade is based on a legislative paper. The grading was considerate of this course being a short session. Dr. Madonna gave incredible feedback and extensions.
I'm not even going to wait until the end of the semester on this one; Dr. Madonna is a MUST take. He's brilliant, passionate, and just the exact kind of person who should be teaching politics. I've only had him for a couple weeks, but I'm in love with him, his communication, and his class. Do yourself a favor and take a class with him
Kind of the goat. Overall, you're writing one huge paper on a bill you select at the beginning of the semester, with each portion of the paper building on each other. They're pretty easy just get ready to sift through piles of useless information in Congressional Records to find an actual good quote for a paper. Also mid-term is chill
Easily the funniest professor I've ever had. He is so enthusiastic about congress and he really wants you to share in his passion. His lectures are 'can't miss' entertainment. His workload is super intense but this is an upper level course after all. He typically has a "its not late as long as its in before I go to grade it" mentality. Awesome guy.
Awesome guy and a great teacher. The concept of the legislative history might seem overwhelming, but it's super easy if you keep up with it throughout the semester. Midterm and final will take you a secondto complete, but are online, take-home exams that are very manageable. You need to take him!!
