easy class if you are good with memorization. that's all it is. you go to class, take notes and take a few exams. as long as you can memorize the info you'll do fine. get your hands on a review packet w/answers and you don't even need to go to class

An OK teacher, somewhat hostile 1 on 1, don't antagonize him and you'll probably do OK.

It's simple: Buy the study guide and find someone with the answers (EVERYONE has taken this class). Spend an hour or two memorizing before each exam, get an A (or even a B) and you don't have to take the final. I went to this class 5 times and got an A-.

sooooooo easy, you only have to go to the review sessions the day before the exam, and you'll get A's on everything

very funny man. the class is easy just get the answers to the study guide and every question on the exams are from the study guide. dont buy the book you dont ever use it. makes class bearable to sit through with his jokes

great man. memorize the study guide questions, and show up the class after the exam; if nobody goes, he gives out bonus points. if you study the review guide, you'll get an A with no effort.

Nice teacher. Tests are from the study guide booklet. If you go to class, you'll get the answers for the study guide from the notes. Field trip to the farm was fun.

I've taken two classes with him and I think he's great. He makes class fun and relates to things that are going on in your life. Always interested in you, esp. if you are and AVS major. If you can, take his class. Not that hard.

Very fun class. Take with a group of friends though, it makes it more bearable. The lab was so much fun. Very easy to get out of the final, all you really need is the study guide book. Just ask around, many people have it. Great class!

AVS 101 is an easy class to take for a gen-ed science course, especially with Tony. He knows that its a popular gen-ed course and he teaches accordingly. Just do the papers and use the study guide before the exams and you're guaranteed an easy B or A.

This class is by far the easiest class on campus. People skip this class constantly and still get good grades. He plays a powerpoint presentation with notes every class, you write the notes, then fill in the packet he gives you with all of the exam questions..then study it and you are golden. There are 3 exams and one final, plus a 1 page paper :)

Fantastic teacher!!! In my top 5 best professors ever!! Explains the material thoroughly, and his exams are incredibly fair. Exams are intense, but if you've studied the material, you can ace it. And they were open book! Highly recommend!!

Tony is a great guy and a great professor. Always eager to help, and his office door is always open. Finally a normal AVS professor.

Definitely doesn't make you interested in animal science... but if you're just trying to get a requirement out of the way it's alright. Lectures are a snooze and barely anyone shows up because the notes are on hundreds of powerpoints.

TONS of notes. Don't bother buying the book. 3 exams, all multiple choice and all come from the blue book. As long as you get all the correct answers for that, go to the mandatory farm visit, and all the exams, you will ace it. PLUS he exempts if you have between a B- and A+. So do your best from the start and you'll be fine. He's nice & funny too.

Very easy class. All you have to do is get the answers to the review book from somebody who took the class before. The question are the same, so you do not have to go to class if you get those answers. There is also one lab on the farm. It sounds like it would stink, but it was really fun! Very Easy Class TAKE IT!

The class was interesting but was a little hard because you have to be a good test taker (multiple choice, true & false) and good at studying. As a freshman the first exam was a little tough since I didn't know how to study well yet. Once you understand how the class goes, the next tests are easier. Had to write one short paper, very easy.

This class is so easy! Don't buy the book, haven't opened it once. Get the review book from someone who took the class already with all of the answers and thats the exam! All the questions are the same. He's a nice and funny guy and you don't need to go to class if you have the review book.

Mallilo is fun. The class is easy, very basic animal knowledge. Covers everything on the exam in his notes, no trick questions. Teaches through slideshows and is very easy. Overall, a blast. Recommend the class!

I don't know what you've people been saying but if it's true, then he's changed. The exams definitely aren't the same as the review packets anymore. Many words are switched around and there are questions where you have to think beyond what you've memorized. But I'm glad it's different, it will bring some challenge to the class which is better.

Mallilo is awesome. Super nice guy, really funny, really loves his work. Exams are kind of difficult, I never bought the book but his review packets pretty much cover everything on the exams. Attendance not mandatory but all of his notes are CRUCIAL for the review packet. The lab is pretty fun.

Mr. Mallilo is a great professor. His lectures have lots of info, but they're always interesting. He's kind and helpful. He can be really funny, but he misses quite a few jokes, but that's not a big deal. The exams are almost entirely lecture. He rarely takes attendance, but you're not allowed any misses. An excellent first year science class

don't buy the TB, won't use it. Just get the pink WB. Easiest class as long as you study all the answers in the pink book. I found the class interesting so I rarely missed but you did not have to go. One paper in the class that the TA's grade but if you do well you get an A or u can revise to get an A. Got an A in the course with little work.

Mallilo is simply awesome! Very easy class as long as you study your material. Exams are very easy (everythings in your notes) Never read a single page of textbook but still managed to get A in that course. And great advisor as well.

Looks like super Mario. Has a good sense of humor. Don't bother buying the book. Just get the packet and study from it. Questions on exams appear verbatim from packet. Don't go to class, you won't have to.

Amazingly easy course. Attendence is not mandatory. If you find someone that took the class before get ahold of their booklet and you will have all the answers for the tests. If not you need to go to class and fill out your own booklet. Tests are multiple choice and come directly out of the booklet. If you have a C+ or above the final is optional.

Awesome professor, really laid back yet interesting to listen to. I have no interest in AVS whatsoever but he made it fun and interesting. As for the class, dont bother going, just get the answers to the true or false questions and know them by heart and you'll get an easy A.

Not a bad class! Lots of note taking and memorization, but if you're good at that then it's an easy A. Do the work and you'll be fine. Don't buy the textbook, though, because you don't use it once. Get the booklet he made up. Also, contrary to some of these reviews, you DO need to attend and take notes, because the test ISN'T just from the booklet.

Tony is the BEST! If you do your work pay attention you will get an A. Its that simple. You dont even need to show up, get the notes from someone who does pay attention and you still get an A. Tony is an easy going good hearted professor. Take him!

This is the easiest class i have taken. His exam book has the exact questions of the test, at least for the nonmajors section. He does a great job of explaining the material and has a great interest in the subject. Dont even bother to buy the book, you will not use it, i did not and i got an A.

If you need a science that's not physics or chemistry or bio, TAKE THIS CLASS. I messed up on one of the exams but still got a B and was exempt from the final. Great guy and you go to a farm and pet animals. Pretty cool

Taking AVS 101 in the summer seems to be much different than during the regular year. There is no review sheet - Mallilo does give you an idea of what's on the test, but studying is 100% necessary for a good grade. No need to buy/read the textbook, but go to all class meetings and take good notes. Also, a fun farm field trip!

Professor Malillo from what I could gather from the 5-10 classes I went to, was an easy professor. I only went to the review sessions and exam days. I ended up receiving a B+ in this class without ever really going, and only by studying the review packet. Buy the review packet but NOT the book, you won't use it ever.

DR. Mallilo was great! He was very straight forward and told you exactly what to study and even if it is the majors class it was still easy and I work really hard for all of the grades I get and it was a really good class.

Very funny guy. The entire class is notes off of slides. Exams are really easy if you study, he wrote a book with all of the questions in it that you can buy to study off of. DON'T buy the book, I didn't use it once, total waste of money.

Overall good professor. Everything is on a powerpoint and there are not many assignments. 1 paper, 1 lab, and 3 or 4 tests. Study the review booklet and you'll be fine. If you can get your hands on previous exams do it, the test are exactly the same.

DR.Mallilo is a great professor and very fair. If you need to take a science course avs 101 is a great and intereseting class. Dr. Mallilo has a great sense of humour and wants to see his students excel.

Mallilo is probably the most helpful advisor at URI. His door is always open and will help you with anything (even unrelated to school). Knows a lot about vet schools and will make sure you meet the requirements. I've taken AVS 101, 212, and 343 with him and all of his exams are fair and usually he gives projects as a portion of your grade.

Toy is an amazing teacher and is one of the greatest teachers I've had. His class is SOOOO easy and all you need is to go to lecture. I easily passed the class and never even opened the book. Don't bother wasting your money on the book but I highly recomend the class and Tony :) Love him

Great Teacher. Take good notes. He only does powerpoint and they are not posted. Very clear about what is on the test and he has a review packet with basically all of the questions you could encounter on the test. Just study the packet and your notes and you will easily ace the course. You have to try to fail.

A nice guy and a good teacher if you actually go to class, however you shouldn't have to go to class to receive an A, all you need to do is go to the review sessions because all of the questions from the test are on the review.

Best class ever. If you wanna go just to chat with friend you may get evil glares from classmates but whatev. Go to class for the reproduction lesson. Mallilo is hilarious! Also going to the farm was sick.

Very clear in his lectures, and also gives the test questions out before each exam. Make sure you get the study guide, because the questions in there are identical to what will be on the exam.

Don't really have anything to say except that he's a great professor with an awesome attitude and a lot of knowledge. You'll have a lot of fun with him in class!

GREAT class. I recommend you take this class for one of your natural science gen eds. I only attended a few classes and got a good grade. Go to class when he talks about the paper you have to write, the review for each exam, and the exam itself of course. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE LAB. Its the easiest assignment ever. Mallilo is a great teacher.

If you need a science Gen Ed, DEFINITELY take this course! he is super nice and the class is very easy. He designs the class so you don't have to go. If you do go, he is super interesting!

TAKE AVS 101. Yes, it is as easy as everyone says. No, you do not need to go to class or purchase the textbook. (the class is super interesting tho!). Go to the review sessions, find a Quizlet (make sure the answers are right) study it for a few days and you'll get an A.

Easiest class you can take at URI as long as you can remember a few true and false questions and a few fill in the blanks that are multiple choice in the exams. Good prefessor, you dont need the book at all, and you dont need to go to class at all either he gives you the answers to the exams in the exam review

Half your grade is a group project that you randomly sign up to do the first day of class with whoever else chooses to sign up for that same group so that's a little awkward. (Super easy project though). Dr. Mallilo is a great professor and wants you to learn as much as you can.

Very easy class. You buy the study at the book store, and that's what you study off of for the 3 exams and the final. But don't buy the actual textbook, you won't use it. Posts the slides online. Really interesting class. I would definitely take this again.

For a class I never went to, it was my best grade. There's a lot of material to study but if you study it for the most part it's exactly everything, word for word on the exam. Then if you get a good enough grade you can exempt. Highly recommend for a gen ed.

Hands down the best professor I have had at URI. I love Tony!!! Such an easy class if you study the review guide.

Tony is a great guy who looks like George Lucas. He gets that people don't care about his class. After the first week, only 50 out of 600 go to the lectures. Show up for the exam review day and buy his review packet because the questions are 80% of the ones on the test. Study the packet and the lecture powerpoints and you will do fine.

Literally the easiest class. Don't need to go ever. Flashcards on quizlet have every test question. Go to the ONLY lab and get credit. Paper is super super super easy. Study the quizlet flashcards and you will be fine. Literally the easiest A at URI.

Super easy class, powerpoint notes are handed out at the beginning of the semester. Exams are open notes. Need book for the lab portion, lab is very easy and he explains it well. One oral presentation on anything you want and one group presentation. Easy grader, very little stress involved with this course.

I loved Professor Mallilo's class. It was simple and an easy A. If you do well on the three exams (B+ or better usually), you have the chance to be exempt from the final. He reads off powerpoints that are posted online. So you do not have to go, however, his lectures are informative and you will learn a lot. His exams are T/F and multiple choice.

Easy A you just have to buy the booklet and go to the review class before the test.

Tests are super easy if you get the manual from the bookstore, don't get the book. You don't have to show up to the class and you'll still do fine if you put in a little studying, but he's a great teacher so showing up isn't too bad. There is one lab, which is you going to the farm for 2 hours and petting cows and goats for 50 points.

If you memorize the manuel you'll do fine on the tests. There's one position paper which is so happy and there's one lab to go to.

Great teacher! His class was my favorite this semester. Lectures are always very intriguing and he is super funny. He does a great job preparing the class for tests and the one required lab is super fun. Extra credit is given often! 10/10 would recommend taking his classes!

Mallilo is a great professor. I enjoyed going to the lectures, even though you do not have to go to pass. He posts all his lectures online but topics are interesting. You do not need the text book in this class, just his review packet. Exams are easy, and he is hilarous

Make sure you study hard and memorize the study guide in the book store before you go into the exam. I looked it over a little after never going to class and im finishing with a C which is annoying but my own fault. He is not willing to work with you but understandable since the class is like 500 kids. Easy class overall def would recommend.

I honestly love Tony so much, he's a great professor. I may be biased because I am an animal science major but he's great. AVS 101 is a piece of cake, almost all memorization and really just making sure you look over the book given to you at the beginning of the class. AVS 212 is very clear cut and has open note exams so it isn't hard to do well.

buy the review packet and show up to class on mondays and wednesdays. tony's a pretty funny guy and he tries to make the lecture interesting and fun. he reviews the questions from the review packet before each exam, so show up early and try to pay attention. textbook isn't really needed

Don't bother with the book, attendance isn't required but go to lecture anyway, it's interesting, get to go to the farm and pet animals, simple grade system, he makes corny dad jokes but he's great, his voice sounds like a muppet, great guy

Literally show up to the review sessions for the exams, the exams, and the farm activity and you can pass this class no problem. Easiest gen ed at URI. $5 review book is all you need. Take this class, you will not regret it.

Easy A. Show up for the review and the exam and study the study guide kinda hard the day before your exams and you will get an A. You don't need to show up to normal class but its pretty interesting and hes a good lecturer. Also book is not necessary at all.

Laid back class, no homework assignments, funny lectures, gives a study guide with all answers to exams.

Class attendance is not mandatory at all. This class was easier than some of my middle school classes. Do the extra credit no matter what. It will probably save your grade.

Professor Mallilo is responsive to e-mails and gives good feedback on assignments. His class is very straight forward. If you follow the lectures and study the review packet, you will do well in the class.

Honestly one of my favorite professors I've ever had. The content can be boring at times but he always does his best to make it interesting. Show up, pay attention and you will do fine in this class.
