Awesome awesome professor. Best i've had yet, by alot. He makes the work easy to understand and fun to do. He is really really smart but isnt stuck up about it. If you have to take any English you must take tony. I never trust my professors but tony I did. That means something to me. He likes the Lakers though. Go Spurs Go.

Expect to write in YOUR journal after a poem reading of some kind at the beginning of class! Lot's of homework! Very interesting professor, full of energy, walks around the classroom enough to make you dizzy! He's big on student participation. Reading aloud in class, Interaction in the class is HUGE so if you're shy,BEWARE! You will be called out

Tony is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is willing to stay late to help you out if you have any questions. If you are wrong about something he will let you know. He makes the class exciting. Like other people said, Tony will put you on the spot to answer a question. If you like talking and arguing, I recommend you taking his class.

I got an A in this summer 5-week class. Plenty of reading-- I gave all the material a fair reading and scored almost perfectly on all the exams and pop quizzes. The hardest text, in my opinion, was Shakespeare's Hamlet. Professor Tony is way cool. He invites us to see the literature through different perspectives, which makes the class not-dull.

Tony is the best instructor I've ever had. To me, his class was quite challenging (I hate writing). He is constantly walking around and loves to talk. He loves to call you out and can be somewhat of a jackass sometimes but man he's cool. Don't take his class if you don't like speaking up.

This teacher was fantastic! I took him for both Composition 1301 and 1302 Flex and he was a great teacher. Prof Tony is a great great instructor. But you gotta pay attention in class and do the reading. The class is tough but he adds lots of videos and sound and group work and activities. Learn lots about the history of the stories and poems. We read some parts of the koran and some Plato philosophy. Incredible class.

Greatest class ever. I am currently in prof tonys world literature 1 its over in a couple of weeks. i never thought id learn this much and enjoy it. we watch videos and make cool things. You get to learn weird stuff about the old worlds. you have to take this class. tonys very smart and funny. its really been a great class.

I enjoyed taking this profs class. He is very engaging. Do your work and engage in class discussions. He does take off points if your dont talk. That's the reason why some people saw lower grades on their papers.

I have to say, I've taken 3 of Tonys classes here at NVC. Each one has been excellent. He's funny, hes fair, and he has a great level of respect for everyone in the class. I read someone say he called out stupid people. That's some bitter fool being mean. If you like fun learning environments take any of Tony classes. He is easily best prof here.

Amazing professor! I learned so much in his class. I've never liked writing but his class made me want to write and become a better writer. He really challenges students to learn and become better writers. It wasn't the easiest class, but as long as you keep up and do everything he says you'll do fine. He also accepts all late work.

Prof Tony is really smart, cool, and interesting. He forces you to think and write beyond what you're used to. I learned a lot in his class, and have improved as a direct result of him. He expects everyone in the class to be an adult and actually show up, but he accepts late work and is very fair in grading. He will always level with you.

I am currently in Tony's World Lit class and it is really amazing. We cover so much cool stuff I didn't realize I even had interest in. He is a pretty funny guy. I love his personality, he makes it enjoyable. Not too much writing but lots of reading. He really knows this material which is good because Ive had professors who don't.

Took him for world lit and having a great experience. He's very knowledgeable about ancient literature and shares new viewpoints on things that most people probably would never hear. He's funny, interesting, one of the best prof's I've ever had. There is a fair amount of writing for the World Lit class, but if you're a strong writer it's not hard!

Professor Tony is a great instructor. You have to work hard in his class and you must go to the writing center for every essay! If you know how to write a sentence, you should do great. Offers 3 extra credit 1 page papers throughout the course and gives you extra points for never missing a class. We only used the book one time, the first week.

He is one of the best professor in NVCinstructor I've had. Funny, not a strict one (except for cellphone policy), and know how to inspire students. He also know how to put fire in his lecture. The class never gets boring because of the jokes, but the clarity is always being guarenteed. Professor Tony is just different than any other instructor!

Took his English comp 1 class and loved it. He was great with he students and encouraged free thought. The work wasn't hard and anything you didn't understand he helped you with.

Tony is a good professor, he is very smart and will go through how to structure your papers, you will always learn something new with him even if its not english related, he is a tough grader but only because he knows everything he assigns is easy if you do what you're supposed to, definitely recommend taking him, his classes are pretty cool.

He's a tough grader so don't expect to get an easy A. Tests are tough if you don't read the stories/readings... so be prepared to read. Not a laid back class. Don't expect to just "get by" either. He does give extra credit though. Would I take a class by him again? Probably not. He's a pretty good instructor though... funny and respectful.

Funniest professor you will ever have and he manages to get people to communicate and come together. The readings are long and boring but you HAVE to do it or you will not pass. He gives quizzes and assigns a typed page on what you thought of the story. We did work in groups a lot so get along with the people at your table!

He is completely honest and tough grader, that isn't a bad thing, he is not afraid to spare your feelings and gives constructive criticism for you to learn from. Professor Tony was great. If you showed up, did your work, showed that you put effort into your work and you cared, he pretty much gave you an A. There were only 3 grades in the class, so participation was a must. He started to become frustrated in my class because of some students' slothfullness and whining, but overall a cool guy.

This was a good class to take online (World Lit 1). Mr. Montalbano gives a very good and broad array of literature to read as well as delving into some religious texts. That was very good I believe because it taught me some things I never new and get me interesting in learning more about those religions. A good class to broaden your horizons.

Dr. Montalbanos online class was really great. We read interesting literature and I was exposed to ideas I never would have learned about without taking his course. If you want a good online experience, take Prof. Tony's class. It isn't too difficult. And the posts were really helpful.

He tends to get very political when it comes to Trump and stuff as a republican student I don't mind. It's his opinion and I value when people give their own opinion and hear them out. Other than that he's very fun and gets very detailed when it comes to helping you do essays. Would choose again.

One of the most unique classes I've taken. He's a really chill teacher if you show up to class and participate. I took him as a flex one class and enjoyed the fast pace.

I took his online condensed 5 week summer session. There are weekly reading assignments (50+ pgs/wk). Weekly discussion posts are a big part of your grade along with quizes. Do the readings, create your discussion post, reply on 6 others posts, take the quizes and you'll get an A+. Would take again.

I took Professor Tony's World Lit I course online for summer one. He starts each week with a post about what needs to be done during the week, and the due dates for everything that week. If the information is important, he will type it multiple times. The discussion can be a bit tedious, since you have to do about 7 at 150 words minimum for an A.

He is Awesome & Amazing Professor, he is enthusiastic about teaching English always walking around the class, it kept me alert, he cares about his students, he would help and explain any questions, he wanted his students to succeed. I loved that he did not allow cell phones in the class (Respect). Homework & class work was just enough. 100% Yes!

The first day I thought he was going to be super strict and not fun, but by the end of the semester I felt like I could tell him all my dreams. I took this class in the Summer 1 session, and it was the best choice I could have made. Each week professor Montalbano was straight forward on the assignments and gave clear instructions. If you read and take some notes, it will be an easy class. There was a quiz after each reading that we did, but it was fairly easy as well.
