He was Horriable. Enough said
it's awful and boring! get another teacher!!!
Extremely boring. I fell asleep in class every day. He needs to find shirts that tuck into his pants. He could just hold our heads underwater-- that would be shorter and twice as effective.
BORING!!!
extremely difficult to understand. does not relate information well to his students. talks to us as if we had the same knowlege about biology as he does. hello, i am a freshmen. drop this class if you can, FAST.
He is very intelligent. Knows his stuff. Kept my interest. You boring dull saps that didn't understand him should major in HDFS. Get out of Biology
Extremely inteligent and knows the material very well....just can't condesend to a students level to explain. Huge quantities of material coupled with massive ammounts of minute details that you were already supposed to know= tough class.
Not a good teacher-WAY too difficult unless you know biology VERY WELL going into the class! Too intelligent and unclear to teach to beginning students!
He has honestly been the worst professor I have had in college. He is extremely hard to approach and made me feel stupid because whenever I did ask questions, he would be completely rude in his answer(which didn't help at all) GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT!!
He is very hard and hard to approach as well. He makes that class 100 times harder than it needs to be....GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN
Ridiculously difficult for an intro class that I only took as part core. Refused to admit he was a poor instructor, and instead continuously insinuated I (an all-A student) was doing something wrong when I went for help. DO NOT GET IN THIS CLASS!!
He got very into his teaching, but was waaaay over my head. I felt like I learned more from the book than from him.
BY FAR the hardest class I've taken at Auburn. The material was too difficult for an intro class. DO NOT TAKE MOSS!!!
Gave me my only C since I've been at Auburn. The material was way too difficult compared to my other friends who were taking 1020. Take another teacher!!
HE IS A GOOD TEACHER!
I loved this class! Dr. Moss was very helpful and he gets so into his lectures that you cannot help but get into it as well. He made the class enjoyable and I am actually making an A, very unexpectedly!
I loved Dr. Moss!! He is very helpful if you go to him with help and even took time to make extra review sessions for us before tests!! He's one of my favorite professors at Auburn. Everyone I know with him this year loves him... He's awesome!!
my grade is not that great, partially due to me, partially to him. i find reading the book is a better source of info than the lecture. his lectures are really disjointed and hard to follow.
I love Dr. Moss! He is very smart and hard to understand sometimes...but ask questions!!! Sometimes he is a little moody in class, but if you go talk to him...he'll do his best to help you. I really like him! Study hard!
He once used wendy's fries to illustrate anaphase pretty much sums it up. lecture sometimes confusing, but read the book and you'll do okay. enjoyed the class
He's actually a good teacher. Just put up a webpage with old quizzes and power points from his lectures. Tests are easy if you go to class.
Clearly one person has gone through and made it appear Moss is helpful, entertaining, and easy. Anyone who has been in his class knows his tests are ridiculous, his lectures are haphazard. I've had a 4.0 for 2 years, and have a low C in his class.
I like Dr. Moss. His lectures are a bit confusing at times, but not the worst. You have to be in class to stay on top of things. His tests are pretty easy...just study the notes. I would recommend him.
DO NO TAKE DR. MOSS...LECTURES ARE TOTALLY DISJOINTED AND TEST QUESTIONS ARE TRICKY... TALKING TO HIM 1 ON 1 ISNT EASY
He is a nice man and willing to help, but it is hard to understand him because he is so brilliant. He doesn't really start with the basics, and pretty much is over everyone's head the whole time. Be sure to read the text readings in preparation for exams.
he thinks we are in a higher science than we really are so he makes it hard.
He gets in way too much detail and never gets to all the material you should cover in the class. I had to learn some stuff in higher level classes because we never got to it in his class. His tests are very tricky.
Dr. Moss overall is a nice guy, but he is by far the WORST teacher. his notes are all over the place. they are not organized. he expects his students to have as much knowledge as he does.
nice man but not a very good teacher, all over the place
Drop this class! Dr. Hall is nice but SOOOOO hard! Tests are tough and gives pop quizzes that are impossible!
I thought i signed up for chemistry. I don't think he likes questions in class. Might I add that the chairs in Carey Hall don't ease the pain of his lectures? Lets just say I learned more from the GTAs in lab.
He thinks its chemistry and that everyone is bio majors. His notes are so scattered and as a intro bio its rediculously hard!
dr moss's class is very challenging. nothing like a 1000 level biology class should be. thinks he is teaching 7000 level biology. hardest class i have ever had, even harder that golf. not a war eagle
This class is by far the hardest class I've taken @ AU.....all I can say is DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES get him for Intro to Bio. Lectures are all over the place, and do not make any sense....I'm gonna be lucky to get a D this semester
his class really isn't that hard. go to class and take good notes. read the book pages he assigns on the syllabus. go to his help sessions. print everything off of his internet help page. all of this will make his class an easy? A or B
Easiest class ever. He doesn't care if you show up to class unless there's an exam or quiz. Quizzes come from the book website and exams come from the quiz. I've fallen asleep at least 4 times and skipped several times and still have an A.
This is a hard class because the lectures are so boring. However, for my class he did scale a lot so I ended up with an A even though I didn't go to class that much. I still wouldn't recomment it though
As long as you arent't a slacker (ahem), you will be fine. He does tend to expect more than he should on tests, but he makes sure to scale everytime. The ppl in BIOL 1010 should be glad they did not have to give a speech and write a term paper for him.
Really nice. He is a bit confusing in his lectures, but as long as you study the notes and USE THE BOOK WEBSITE(a lot of questions for quizzes and test come from here!) you will be fine
I had to try my hardest in this class, and still made bad grades!
He has very confusing lectures. It seems like he thinks that he's teaching graduate biology, its hard to understand and a challenging course. Take Kearly, he's easier and a much better teacher.
looks like a turtle, talks like a hare and makes you want to hurt yourself just to get out of class
This class is pretty hard, but Dr. Moss will be very helpful if you go to him for help. The test comes directly from the quiz. The lectures are all over the place, but if you read the book you'll be ok.
Doesn't teach very well but all of his tests come directly from the quizzes that are online and you turn in on the day of the test. No need to go to class if you just take a day or two to do the quiz
His lectures consist mostly of drawing diagrams. You must read your book and mostly teach yourself. However if you take some time to study it is not a hard class.
dr. moss is a very nice and helpful man. he gets ahead of himself sometimes in lecture but thats only because he enjoys biology. he wants you to learn and he tries to share personal stories to break up class. if you try, you'll do fine. his quizzes are also very helpful. people who do bad, rate bad!
This class is easier as long as you go to class, take good notes, take time ont he practice quiz, and go to his review sessions. He really does love biology, and jsut wants everyone else to. A little crazy and egocentric though..he even put a question about himself on the final.
Moss is a really nice guy, but he just can't teach. He freakin' draws football plays on the board(well, they look like football plays.) You have to study for this class, if you don't you'll fail. But I wouldn't worry about skipping class since you can't understand his lectures anyway.
Nice guy, really helpful, he puts no 'football plays' on the board, or whatever was said about him. Very clear about what you need to have done and when you need to have it done. Good teacher
Take Bradley if you can. This guy sucks.
Ok, to start I got an A in here so listen: try to read the notes he puts online before you go to class! This will make his jumbled lectures a little less confusing. Next, don't put off the report for too long... it helps to get it over with quickly!
Whoever said that Moss is helpful and a good teacher, well, is probably Moss himself. I am an A student, got an A in there, but learned absolutely nothing in the process. Spends 1/2 of the semester wasting time on preparative methods instead of Cell Biology.
This class was super boring! OMG! The breaks in class were nice, but still, you wanted to hang yourself in those 3-5 minutes. The tests weren't too bad. I didn't give a**** about the final because he drops the lowest grade. GO TO CLASS he gives out "group dicussion" questions that are merely for taking attendance. Get old tests!
This man cannot explain anything clearly! He's never prepared for class and writes his exams at the last minute. He goes off on tangents during lecture so you're never really sure what he expects you to learn. His exams were hard as hell.
Take the other guy. Moss is very unorganized and will go off on tangents that have nothing to do with cell bio.
UNORGANIZED. Write down everything he writes down. Print off his stupid powerpoint presentations. It's not a hard class, but he is just really not a good teacher. Take Bradley.
By far the worst class I have taken at Auburn. You would think Cell Biology would be an important/interesting class for a Biology major, well this isn't. Extremely boring and irrelevant for the entire lecture everyday. Talks about microscopes for about a month (literally). 10 page paper, crappy exams, have to teach yourself everything. DO NOT TAKE!
Really nice guy! Sometimes he puts stuff on the board that makes absolutely no sense. His review sessions are piontless, but he is always very helpful during his office hours. This class takes a ton of work so be ready! Most of my class failed pretty miserably.... you just can't give up. He only wants you to learn.
I struggled so much in his class. You practically have to memorize the text book. Not much of the stuff he says makes sense.
Nice man. Very helpful. However, he expects that you have been exposed to AP Biology or have taken college level Biology. It's tough and you will have to work your butt off to keep your head above water. Choose another honors course if you can.
Taking this class was the biggest mistake of my life. I have never made a B in my life and i made a C in here. Avoid honors biology at all costs, especially with Dr. Moss. He goes on an on about these completely irrelevant science topics and it leaves you wondering what exactly youre paying tuition for. AVOID HONORS BIOLOGY!!
Ridiculously hard tests, not a great teacher. Expects you to have a background of biology. Lab is really easy and helps your grade a lot. Gives a ton of extra credit. Failed both tests and made a B in the class. You don't learn much so I don't recommend taking it.
I definitely worked my butt off for this class. He doesn't understand why people don't understand his instructions, even though they make no sense. He is not nice, will have no idea who you are (even in a class of 20) if you go to every class. Project is pointless. Made an A no idea how. Avoid him but you will survive if you don't have a choice.
Moss isn't the most organized of teachers, but he does love his job and it shows. I enjoyed taking a class from a teacher that was enthusiastic about the material. His honors bio class is difficult (I didn't take AP bio in high school) but he gives lots of extra credit.
Very smart but extremely unorganized. His instructions are never clear and the final project is very confusing. I probably had a high C and he had to curve everyones grade and I got an A. I did well in AP Bio in highschool but Moss's exam questions are crazy. Try to avoid if possible, this class is extremely frustrating.
Most disorganized, pointless class I have taken here. The class is called Cell Biology, yet I learned nothing about the biology of cells. Dr. Moss is more interested in talking about his specific interests, methodology, and Nobel Prize Winners. Nice guy, but entirely not prepared or focused enough to teach the class.
The previous comment hit the nail on the head in describing Moss. This class is called Cell Biology and one would assume an important class for a pre-med student, well we learned nothing hardly about cells. He goes off on the most random tangents and places a huge emphasis on people rather than the methods behind them. Tests are too long and hard.
I agree that he is pretty unorganized. Class is boring but he gives clicker quizzes that count for attendance. He gave bonus for going to any science-related seminar and writing a couple paragraphs about it. It was worth like 5 percentage points so definitely do it.
Alright, easily one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. If you really need the honor's credit, or you just like a challenge, go for it. I managed an A, but I literally studied for at least 5 hours a day, every day, not even for an exam. Its an extreme challenge to not get frustrated, but he WILL help you if you ask. Do all the extra credit!
I took Honors Bio 1027 after having AP Bio in high school, and it was pretty tough. His review sessions are usually more confusing than helpful, but he likes to see you there. As long as you do all of the extra credit, study ALOT, and go to class, you should be pretty well off. I ended up with an A thanks to all of the extra credit he offers!
Dr. Moss was a great professor. Not an easy class but very informative. I learned A TON. The class is coupled with a BIO lab headed by Moss and Dr. Zanzot. Both of them are very nice and approachable. TAKE THIS CLASS. The tests are hard, but if you do ALL your class work, extra credit work, and you go to class, this is an easy B or even A.
Moss and Zanzot's honors bio class was hard. If you want an easy A, steer clear. I made an A, but I had put in a considerable amount of work. Moss and Zanzot are helpful if you ask for help and extra credit is offered throughout the course.
The Honors Bio class was very difficult. It requires an extensive amount of studying. However, Dr. Moss is very approachable and easy to talk to. He always has interesting stories that he likes to share. A hard class but a great teacher.
Good class. After taking AP Bio this class seemed like an in-depth review. Moss gives loads of extra credit so if you can do fairly well on the 2 tests you will be fine. The lab is taught by Moss and Dr. Zanzot, who has a good sense of humor. Make sure to keep up with your stuff for the lab project once that starts up. Dr. Moss is a bit eccentric but it made him more entertaining.
Moss - eccentric, yet boring. A bit over-bearing and rude with a hint of know-it-all. Biol 1027 was not easy, but if you read the book, pay attention in class, and study hard, you'll do well. Dr. Zanzot should have his job.
Great teacher! Passionate about what he teaches. Take time to get to know him and he'll almost certainly start liking you.
Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the material, but very unorganized. The subject is too broad for one semester. Exams are difficult, but just like old ones and online quizzes can be helpful. The 'Bio you've seen' exam is impossible. Take biochemistry before this class if you can. Do not miss the final review sessions he holds.
I never took AP bio in high school, but with coming to class every day and studying a lot from the textbook, this class really isn't that difficult
Moss is the worst biology professor I've had in three years at Auburn. His lectures are terribly boring and hard to follow. His complete lack of organization is a detriment to the class's ability to learn the material. His test are next to impossible to prepare for and he didn't follow his syllabus for longer than 2 weeks.
Dr. Moss is an extremely intelligent guy, but he is too disorganized to teach this class. He feels like his teaching method is innovative, but it is just confusing. This class could be extremely straightforward, but instead, he tries to lead you to a "working" understanding of the topics and fails miserably at conveying that information. Not hard.
He tries, and it's kind of sad because I think it really upsets him that his classes perform poorly, but he really should not be teaching cell biology. He does not know how to organize the material, or teach it in an interesting way. Really nice guy though.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Dr Moss is extremely smart and he assumes you are as smart as he is. The lectures (in class quizzes) are hard to follow but if you don't go, you'll be lost. Office hour visits are a must. Don't take an HNRS Science ever - if you need an HNRS class take Intro to Thea or an Engl! Please avoid. It's the worst.
Moss is really really unorganized. He likes to talk about whatever's on his mind and not what's going to be on his tests. He posted some old tests of his online and those were very helpful!! They were almost exactly the same. Study the book and his old tests and you should do fine; don't rely on his lectures.
Dr Moss is very intelligent.. but not the best prof. He's busy with research and other commitments so his dedication and attention to teaching is minimal. However, I managed to get an A in the class by studying the Blackboard quizzes and old tests that he provides. Also gave opportunity for extra credit. Not an impossible class, just frustrating
Extremely intelligent, nice guy. However, like others have said before me.... very unorganized and tends to go off on tangents that are boring and irrelevant to test material and in doing so loses most of the class's attention. Most of his lectures will be hard to follow. READ THE BOOK. i made an A without the extra credit.
This class isn't impossible but does require attention and dedication..daily. I thought I was going to make a C but came out with an A. Study the old tests and Blackboard quizzes (tests are pretty similar), go to office hours and do the extra credit. Lab isn't hard so that helps. Read the book-don't rely on his notes. Tangents terribly. Good luck!
Dr. Moss is very smart and very nice but has no place teaching freshman bio. He takes too much time on material in some parts and then has to speed through later material. I made a C in the class; I maintained a C throughout and made an A on the final. For the final, study the old tests from the semester and the Blackboard quizzes really help.
Dr. Moss is quite the character. He is quite disorganized and most likely will not have your test grades on time. However, he is a VERY intelligent man and will certainly teach you the material. He does go into ALOT of detail which hinders his finishing of the material. If you are a bio major in the honors college, take his class! You'll enjoy him!
Dr. Moss is terrible. I am a good student and this class is in my major and I learned absolutely nothing. Complete lack of organization made this class miserable. Take it over the summer when McVay teaches it!
Completely disorganized. His cell biology class focused more on scientists that he aspires to be like than actual cell biology. His stuck up attitude is also very unenjoyable.
Dr. Moss is a very intelligent professor. He goes exceedingly in depth on various topics covered in class. You should read the book or go talk to him to get a better understanding of the material.Alot of information and the course is very broad so make sure you are prepared to study alot. pretty interesting and it is not impossible to make an A.
Pretty good teacher, kind of difficult, but I didn't really study much. Do the quizzes.
Dr. Moss was the teacher the second half of the semester and was extremely difficult. I went to his office hours, but he wasn't very helpful. His tests are really difficult and very confusing. I did not like this class.
I only had Dr. Moss for half of the semester, but he was not a good teacher. I went to office hours, leaving more confused. The tests were extremely difficult, and I did not like his style of teaching.
Dr. Moss is very intelligent but his class is hard and he is not very helpful. I only had him for the second half of a semester, but once he started teaching the tests were much harder. Avoid taking him if you can, but if you have to, study the online quizzes for the tests. Also he considers an 89.9 to be a B.
Don't even get me started on Dr. Moss. Smart, Nice, Funny, TERRIBLE TEACHER. He goes off on tangents, explains things in confusing ways, and words questions to trick you. Avoid him. If you can't, STUDY THE QUIZZES.
Just no. He's a useless teacher teaching useless information
There are 1000 pts possible in the class; you can average low B's on the 2 exams + final & still have an A. That being said, don't expect to learn anything. Best bet is to memorize as many old exams as possible & scan the notes 1 or 2X. Moss rambles in lecture about things that aren't covered on exams. Disorganized doesn't begin to describe it.
Moss rambles in class. Did not learn anything all semester. He can't figure out how to use Canvas, but insists on using it to post quizzes and assignments and bombards you with a barrage of emails that will only further confuse you. Tests are ridiculously hard. Don't expect to learn anything in this class. Take another instructor if you can.
If you're taking his class I wouldn't take many other science classes during the same semester, when test time comes you have to drop you life to get ready and to take the 5 quizzes he is about to post 3 days before the exam. Preparing for his tests are like learning another language. Know the diagrams in the book, papers and podcasts he posts.
It's a tough class. Moss seems to often go off on tangents, but you realize it's because he knows everything and wants you to know it too. He really loves what he teaches, but if you zone out for a second, you're lost. Taking time to closely read the book before lecture will get you an A or B in the course. Challenging, but rewarding in the end
Probably the most intelligent but easily the worst professor I've had at Auburn. Incredibly disorganized. Does everything for the class last minute. We fell weeks behind schedule within the first month of class. Grading is a mess. I never really knew what my grade in the class was. Doesn't get Canvas. I feel like we tried to cover too much material
Professor Moss is quite possibly one of the most knowledgeable professors at Auburn. However his lectures lack structure, he goes off on tangents, and overcomplicates material. His tests are among the hardest I've taken and he takes forever to grade them. Read the book, take good notes, and don't miss class or you'll be completely lost.
While Dr. Moss is a very polite and approachable person, he is horribly disorganized. You must read incredible detail into the things he discusses in class. He dives too much into the physics of things when this is a cell bio course. Also, takes WEEKS to grade exams. Never know grade... Overall.. Sorrentino is better and you will learn more.
if u want someone incapable of teaching then moss is your man. gives WAY too much stuff and is incredibly disorganized. Says stuff and then goes back on his word. This was the worst experience I have had at AU. he has no common sense and cant word a question in a way to make you understand what hes asking. takes 3 weeks to grade. nice person tho
Moss is very intelligent, but he has a hard time relating the material on a level that students can understand. Lectures are in-depth and following his train of thought and chalkboard notes can be a struggle. Tested on material he told us to learn on our own. Tests are MC and free-response. Will not be registering for anymore of his classes.
Dr. Moss is all over the place. We went over 4 chapters in the last class, and he acted like it was our fault. He spends the first hour on one slide, then runs through the rest expecting you to understand. Moss is the most unorganized guy in the world so get ready for that. Test are hard. The extra credit saved my grade.
Taking Cell Bio with Dr. Moss has been my worst experience at Auburn. I can generally read the book and make an A in just about any class. However, he doesn't follow the book and you are forced to study from his horrible notes. His last minute 5pg research paper saved my grade. Stay away - you'll regret taking him.
Moss is a terrible lecturer and all over the place. His tests were ridiculous and about information totally not touched on in class. He is extremely smart and can't convey clarity to his students. Bascially read the entire book and try to write down every word that he says (or record lectures)
Words don't been to describe just how bad of an experience Dr. Moss's Cell biology class is. If I had to give it a try though, here are some words that come to mind: Disorganized, incoherent, confusing, unclear, awful, miserable, detrimental. If you catch my drift. Avoid at all costs. Not entirely sure how he still has a teaching job to be honest.
dude is super unorganized and won't answer emails. doesn't teach anything during lectures but exams are easy.
Dr. Moss is extremely scatter brained. He waits until the last minute to post things, such as lecture powerpoints, quizzes, and study materials. The only good thing about him is that the tests come straight from the in-class quizzes and canvas quizzes. Nothing from the lecture, except quizzes, will help you for the test. Always behind schedule.
Extremely disorganized and it is almost impossible to follow his train of thought during lectures. He is a nice person though and tries to offer explanations in his office hours, but to no avail. Probably the most frustrating experience at Auburn so far. Did give 90 points of extra credit to try and make up for all the errors on tests and quizzes.
I think our semester was different out of the other cell bio classes because our first exam was a disaster. In order to make up for it, Dr. Moss gave us 60 extra credit makeup quiz as well as another 30 point bonus quiz which helped out a lot. However, he is extremely disorganized and never expect him to be at his office when he says he would be
I had Moss spring of 2016 and it was awful. You never knew your grade because even Moss didn't know how he was going to scale the class. We ended up with 90 points of extra credit because he messed up so badly. I didn't learn a thing and he was no help in office hours.
Such a nice guy but a horrible professor. He is so disorganized and doesn't know what is going on half the time. I only go to class because he gives pop quizzes but they are impossible. He takes forever to put grades in. I don't think I learned anything.
I have never taken a course with such a horrible professor. He is the most disorganized person not only at Auburn University but probably in the state of Alabama if not the United States. I asked him to put one of the grades in for my quiz on January 29th and as of today, March 29th, it is still not put in so if you can help it, dont take him.
Professor Moss was not a very interesting teacher. His quizzes were poorly made and he often made mistakes while wording questions on the exams. The powerpoints aren't enough to study for his quizzes, you HAVE to listen to what he says. Exams are different because they're all questions pulled from the in class quizzes and canvas quizzes.
A super boring lecturer with not a lot of detail. All test come straight from the in-class quizzes, and he gives you the keys. He's super late about posting test material, but if you memorize the answers you'll be fine. One of the easiest classes I've taken. Take him if you need an A and don't care if you actually learn anything.
This class was ridiculous, and you'll be frustrated all semester, but the A is worth it. He is super scatter brained and the lectures do nothing. Study all of his canvas quizzes and chapter notes and you'll do fine. He gives quizzes every week, and sometimes gives some extra credit ones so go to class.
People give him a hard time and honestly, he doesn't deserve all the slack he gets. He gives lectures till the end of every class and really does want you to have the best grade possible. This class is impossible to fail unless you just really did't go to class or do any of the work. I would definitely recommend this class if you need it.
Took BIOL 1000 as a business student in hopes of just getting a B in a science class. Worst mistake I've ever made. Got a 71 on the first test and that was way above the class average if that tells you anything at all. Moss taught the class like we were all biology majors when none of us were. Pop quizzes constantly on nothing we covered in class.
This class is ridiculously hard for someone who is not a science major. I took it thinking it would be an easy A, but had to work my tail off for a B. Quiz and test questions often make no sense and are not about material covered in class.
Super sweet man but his class is absolutely awful. All he does is click through the slides that he has on powerpoint (not made by him) and he just goes off on tangents that just end up confusing you. Lots of surprise in class quizzes, some you have to squeeze into the last 5 minutes of class. Great guy, but do not recommend his class.
Literally the weirdest class ever. Gives quizzes almost every class but never grades them? wears crocs to class Tests are actually the worst and the average was always like a 60. says hes gonna curve the grade but never does. Never really figured out what was going on and he isnt very good about answering emails and questions. Super confusing class
Prof. Moss was extremely lecture heavy, but it was always unclear exactly what he was lecturing about. Hes the most scatterbrained teacher ever, and never scaled tests or posted anything online to help.
The material is so easy, but somehow Dr. Moss has found a way to make the class impossible. Never grades anything on time, completely scatterbrained, and test questions that confused my Biology major friends. 0/10 recommend.
Worst Biology teacher I've ever had. Made an A in 1020 with Zhong but changed my major and had to take 1000. Needless to say, I STRUGGLED to get a C. His test have NOTHING to do with his lectures. The final is accumulative with no study guide given. DO NOT TAKE.
He is very scatter brained and he is not very helpful when you go to his office. He gives quizzes almost everyday and never grades them. The lectures have nothing to do with the tests, but you still have to go to class.
Moss does not care about this class, and his lectures are all over the place. Grades are never put in. DO not take him for Concepts of Science. He doesn't help prepare students for any tests or quizzes he gives.
The class itself is not hard, but I 100% believe he makes it harder than it needs to be. I never know what to study for his tests and what I do study is not enough. His notes are vague and the tests are made up of all kinds of questions.
Dr. Moss truly cares about the material he is teaching and when he gets enthusiastic he gets off topic. He loves pop quizzes, so attend class. He curves the tests by taking about 4 of the most missed questions out, so if you got them right you get extra points. He always responded quickly to my emails.
I agree with everyone below. I just wish he didn't skirt around our questions and not answer them fully. I really wanted to do well, but the design of the class didn't allow for that to happen, sadly. He does answer emails quickly, though.
DROP AS FAST AS YOU CAN! If you do get stuck with Moss though, be sure to brush up on the main topics of his lectures because he doesn't cover them enough, but he goes into too much detail on the little things. Tests are very hard and he hardly ever uploads quizzes or extra credit on time. Bless your heart if you get stuck with him!
Tests were very hard and lectures were long and quick
I took him for concepts and his test were nothing like his lecture. I failed so bad on the first exam although I study for 10 days and went to every class. After that I stopped taking notes and only studied this quizlet and got a B on the second exam. Everyone studied the quizlet for the final and passed with Bs and higher. STUDY QUIZLETS
Dr. Moss is one of the worst lecturers at Auburn. He often gets off topic, and when he's on topic he is very scatter-brained and doesn't make it clear what info is important and what isn't. Although he does want to help you make a good grade and is quite nice. The perfect description of him is that he is an awesome guy who shouldn't be teaching.
Dr. Moss gets way to much hate from students. He is my favorite professor that I have taken, and he does everything in his power to help you pass his class. He is a little scatterbrained, but once you learn how to focus on the main ideas he presents his class is very easy. His tests are easy and if student do poorly he always offers extra credit.
I took Dr. Moss for Marine Biology. I came out with an A. He is very unorganized, scatterbrained, and helpful. He is a very nice person , but I think its about time for him to retire. All the exams were open notes. No Labs either. He waited until the week of finals to give 14 online quizzes.
Dr. Moss is a nice guy, but he should not be teaching anymore. I honestly don't know how he makes it to class every day. He is SO scatter brained and never has a clear train of thought. The tests are fine if you study quizlets and the chapter quizzes, but this class is truly so frustrating.
I took this man last year & Im still here to remind people that this was the worst class ive been in & studying was nearly impossible because I had no physical things to study. dont. do. it. also when I asked him what to study he said "everything is fair game".. he gave us nothing to study from other than bad notes and quizzes without answers soo
So disorganized that it causes the whole class to do poorly. He doesn't understand how to work Canvas. His lectures don't correlate with the test and quiz material, so no one ever knows what to study. Super nice guy, but don't take his class unless you have to.
I would not recommend to take Dr. Moss's SCMH class. He is so unorganized with all assignments. He assigns random quizzes and opens them weeks later. His tests are easy if you study past quizzes and read the textbook. Just so unorganized and can never answer your questions.
Dr. Moss is a once in a college career professor. You will not have this kind of classroom anywhere else. His spunk and style (including attire) will always have you laughing. He does not know how to operate canvas but a quick email can clear things up.
Dr. Moss gives extra credit on tests, but you won't see it until the end of the semester since he doesn't understand canvas. He also gives extra credit if you make concept maps before each test. His tests are moderately difficult but he gives quizzes throughout the unit that can be helpful for studying. You have to work, but an A is possible
Dr. Moss is overall just not a good teacher. He's incredibly disorganized and is very unhelpful outside of class. I had to do a lot of work outside of class to do well on the tests. There are a bunch of quizzes but they're an easy way to get points and are helpful with studying for tests. 2 tests were hard, but final was easy. try not to take him
Class is the most boring thing and he does not seem to care about the class minimal effort is put in. People who do not go to class and study the textbook do better than those who actually attend lectures. DO NOT TAKE!
SCMH-1010. Dr. Moss is very unorganized and very scattered. He does not care about his students and will put material on exams that he never even covered in class. You will make a better grade if you skip class and study on your own than if you go to the lectures. His resources are very poor and he is very unhelpful when you ask him a question.
Teacher is a joke. Not prepared, will sass students, forget to tell you what's going to be on a test. Attendance isn't mandatory and he doesnt post all material needed for tests. Also will randomly post quizzes that will be due at midnight that night. Not a GPA booster.
information told in class is not what the test is on. no good study sources.
Dr. Moss is clearly very intelligent. Having said that, do not take him for concepts. It is just a very confusing class that never seemed to have any sort of clear direction.
very bad prof-boring & off topic alot of time. tests were very hard -confusing mateirial. i never knew what to study bc the questions were so oddly specific or random. i would study all day & still make a C on his tests. do NOT reccommend. would give in class quizzes (most of the time a surprise) & would give us 3 mins at the end of class
Dr. Moss is a nice and caring guy, but he's not a good teacher. He's very scatterbrained. The first test was rather easy, but the second had a lot of the questions about specific examples in the book. He is not good with technology. It is pretty easy material, and he gives a lot of extra grades to boost. He has a weird grading rubric, though.
Horrible, horrible class. I am already not the best at science, but I worked my butt off to make sure I knew the material for this class. It didn't matter. You do everything you know to do to study for the class and then some to prepare for the tests, but unless you can read the man's mind you will not make a good grade.
Dr. Moss seems like a great guy and everything but I cannot stress enough: DO NOT TAKE HIM. He definitely knows his material like the back of his hand but he might as well be speaking Chinese in his attempts to explain it to students. You never have a clue what to study for test and test questions are always insanely specific.
Do not take moss unless you already understand bio. His tests are very hard but class work is easy. He does not know how to use canvas!!
Dr. Moss is a sweet human being, but not great at explaining science. He flies through his lectures, and I absorb nearly nothing. The exams cover a lot of material, and it's incredibly hard to study. His powerpoints don't reflect the contents of the exams at all. Buckle up and get ready to read the textbook to understand this class.
One of the hardest classes I've ever taken. He lectures from powerpoints that he makes himself, but they don't help on the test at all. Unless you really understand the material and each concept thoroughly, you won't pass his tests. The tests are nothing like the lecture and the book didn't help either. He is VERY unorganized.
Very unorganized. our final is on ch 1-24 and we barely made it through 18. Tests are nothing like the lecture and very difficult. The book helped more than his lectures but not enough to matter. He will get snappy with students if they ask anything about grades. Doesn't know how to use canvas.
Classes are a joint effort. The teacher puts in the work to teach and the student puts in the effort to learn. If one of them does not do their part, only the student suffers. Unfortunately, this is one of the cases of the teacher not doing their part. Dr. Moss is ridiculous in every aspect. Stupidly specific questions. Unorganized. Don't take him
Dr. Moss seems like a good guy but do not take his class. He is extremely unorganized and doesnt seem to understand what he is teaching his students. He gets frustrated when students ask valid questions and cannot use canvas to save his life. Test questions are way to specific for his quality of teaching and he doesnt curve.
If there is a way to avoid taking this class I advise that you do. Everything I learned in this course has been self-taught. We didn't get past ch 24 (really around ch 12 thoroughly) yet had mandatory homework on ch 52. Now, we are about to take the final and are nowhere near prepared as other students who actually had instruction through ch 24.
Don't do it. Thats it. Thats the tweet.
I really feel like Dr. Moss is a great person, but his class is awful. I can never keep up with lectures and notes simultaneously because he zooms through the lectures. The homework also don't help because we are normally 6 chapters behind the homework and don't cover that material until weeks later. I would strongly advise against this class.
Does not teach the material that is on the test. After taking his tests I am still not sure where he got some of the test material from. Even after reading 100% of the textbook to prepare for tests my grades did not raise whatsoever. I highly recommend finding another teacher if you want to do well or even somewhat enjoy this class.
Dr. Moss is a nice guy, and he also seems more than knowledgable in the field of biology. That being said, he's an awful professor. Unless you are willing to pull multiple all-nighters in an effort to teach yourself the material that you should've been taught in class, steer clear of this class.
If you are going to be taking BIO 1020, avoid Moss at all costs. Good luck reading his mind when it comes to taking exams. Questions are written by him and extremely specific. His lectures are ultimately useless because he is highly unorganized and scatterbrained, so good luck trying to study.. If you have to take BIO1020, stay tf away for Moss.
Dr. Moss is really a sweet and genuine guy but don't let his personality fool you. Just like everyone else has said, he does no prepare you at all for exams. He has a mind of his own when it comes to making the exams. Very unorganized. Our final is coming up and I don't think a single student from his class is anywhere near prepared. -2/10
Dr. Moss is an awesome person that really does care about his students. He spends time out of class to make sure we understand. That being said, he is not suitable to teach this specific class. His lectures are hard to follow and his test questions are oddly specific. I studied for multiple days in advance and averaged a C on exams. Ended with an A
The exams are incredibly difficult and even with attending the SI sessions, studying for hours, and taking notes during class I got a D on the first exam (which was the average). He isn't very clear about anything and he often forgets to tell us about upcoming assignments so getting 0 on assignments or quizzes you didn't know existed happens often.
Absolutely do NOT take any of Dr. Moss's classes. He never makes himself clear on what will be on the tests. You basically have to guess. There is also so much homework. It's extremely time consuming so if you have other hard classes, you're basically screwed. If you have to keep a certain GPA for a scholarship, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Dr. Moss is an extremely nice person and spirit... however, as a teacher, not so much. I am currently taking his class and I would not take him again. He never clearly explains what to expect on his tests and during his lectures he goes on tangents and oversaturates you with material leaving you confused on what point he was trying to make.
At first he seems like a nice and caring man, which I guess he is, but a nice man doesn't make a good teacher. And this guy SUCKS at teaching, he's so scatterbrained and goes on 45 minute tangents that are hardly relevant to the material. Then he makes his own tests and those are also incredibly hard to understand, poorly worded and awful diagrams.
this is by far the hardest class I have ever taken in my entire life. he never answers emails and is incredibly rude. slides have nothing to do with his tests. tests are all application-based. you will need a tutor if you take him.
He is a very nice man, but should absolutely not be teaching this class. I was excited for biology because I was. nursing major but after that semester I hatred biology. He is scattered in class and I did not learn much from the lectures, then the tests had NOTHING to do with any of the stuff we would talk about and the questions very hard. avoid
I hated it and can not wait to be finished. The most work I have had to do all semester. Not a good teacher.
Anthony Moss is a sweet man, but not the best teacher. Not the biology teacher I would pick if you're hoping to make a good grade. His tests are wildly specific and really difficult to make a good grade on. That being said, there are lots of other opportunities to get grades elsewhere (easy homework, quizzes, a group project).
HORRIBLE. Don't take him. I have been to SI sessions, his extra reviews, 1 on 1 tutoring and it does not help at all for the tests. He is apparently not even supposed to be teaching the class and he can't ever figure out the technology side of grading so you won't know your real grade. I had well over a 4.0 in high school, this is the worst class.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! He is a super nice person, but he is a terrible professor. His lectures have nothing to do with what is on the test. He does give a lot of extra credit, that is the only reason I am passing. I have not passed one of the tests. Even if you go to the class and take good notes it doesn't help. Studying for hours doesn't even help.
Dr. Moss is a sweet man, but a terrible professor. When I registered for classes he was my only option but if you can avoid his class DO IT. He doesn't know how to work canvas so I was constantly confused about what my grade was. Taking notes, studying for hours, and attending SI sessions do not help and his tests are nothing like the lectures.
Great guy but not the best teacher. He makes the quizzes and exams off the top of his head. Very specific and some are worded weirdly. did not enjoy this class
This man has got to be the worst professor Ive ever had, nothing matches. His lectures dont match his power points, his instructor notes not match his lectures or his power points, and not a single one matches his tests. His lectures are confusing and half of the time he doesnt even teach biology. Hes also rude and is hard to work with.
DO NOT TAKE HIM, HE IS AWFUL. Dont be like me and think oh whatever these RMP ratings arent accurate. They very much are. Hes terrible. His tests dont match his notes at all and he cant keep accurate grades at all. This was my only B out of all my other As (including Chem) all our tests averages were Fs. He should be fired
Dr. Moss is terrible, please please please DO NOT TAKE HIM. He doesnt give you the extra credit that he assigns to you after you spent hours working on it, and you wont even know your grade until it is finalized. The tests are very challenging and nothing like his lectures.
Would never recommend this class to anyone. Tests are next to impossible no matter how much you study, you could memorize every word on his powerpoints and still not make a good grade. Every test average was in the 60's. Assigns tons of extra credit but never updates canvas so you wont know your grade until the day grades are due. DO NOT TAKE.
He is the worst teacher I have ever had. He changed the grading scale after the final without saying anything. I could not tell you one thing from that class and the final was ridiculously difficult. Our test average for the class was a 53. I emailed him about my final grade and he said it wasnt his problem and then stopped responding. DONT TAKE!
Anthony Moss is the worst professor at auburn. He says that he is going to do all this extra credit to help our grade but never does it. If you take his I honestly feel sorry for you. His class was the worst class ever. DONOTTAKEHIM!! You will be confused the whole semester on what he is talking about. You have to guess on all the tests and quizzes
Dr. Moss is an interesting guy. Going to every class and taking notes is not going to solidify a passing grade for you. You have to read the textbook and teach yourself because it is very hard to take away anything from his lectures. Stay on top of all your assignments and do the extra credit (it takes him awhile but he does put it in eventually).
Dr. Moss was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. He was so unorganized and his lectures made no sense. He made countless mistakes grading our assignments throughout the semester and was never clear on the weight of each assignment. DO NOT take Dr. Moss if you NEED a B or higher in BIOL 1020 because you will be at a major risk of failure
avoid at all costs
Whatever you do do not take his class. Any other professor will be better. Doesnt know how to teach the class and use technology. Save yourself from the headaches and frustration.
Avoid this class, trust me. He will get confused with the technology and completely screw your grades. He is an old and dusty freak and he cannot work his own grades. I am not being dramatic when I say he regraded my B+ and the next day I had a D. He does this constantly, one day you will have a b and the next u could be failing.
I have no idea whats going on in this class
Worst biology teacher
Dr. Moss is the most scatter-brained, confusing professor at Auburn. Despite not missing a single lecture, I still have no idea what is going on in this class. His quizzes and emails are full of spelling mistakes, and he wastes the entire lecture. Many times, he'll talk about 4 different subjects in a matter of 20 mins. Don't take.
Do not take, everyone fails a test, no curve
His lectures have nothing to do with the tests. He sent out practice quizzes before the test and they were not even close to the test. Doesn't matter how much you study because it won't be reflected in your test grades. He doesn't curve or offer extra credit. Avoid him even if you have to change the rest of your schedule. 0/10 would not recommend.
The most inconsiderate and rude professor I have ever had. So rude and scary during class and so unorganized because he can't figure out technology. I thought marine bio would be a fun elective and I ignored the rate my professor. DO NOT TAKE HIM. All he cares about is himself and bragging about how smart he thinks he is.
awful teacher. SOO scatterbrained. his tests don't reflect the lecture. i would 10000% take a different science path like geology rather than take this class again. if you read the textbook and never show up you have more of a chance to make an A
tests are nothing like the lectures. hes not an asshole but hes extremely unhelpful and probably wont respond to your emails. terrible class
I would avoid this class. Concepts of Science was supposed to be my easiest class yet it is my hardest... I spend more time in this class than in financial accounting.
Moss is the worst. He rattles on about random stuff during class and his tests and quizzes are poorly worded and unnecessarily hard. Lectures don't help at all and if you want to do well, you have to memorize the whole book. He never answers emails or provides any sort of help. Spare yourself the misery and don't take this class.
DO NOT take Moss for Concepts! Easily the worst teacher at this school and its not even close. Horrible communication with students, extremely difficult exams which are heavily weighted, and overall does not seem like he should be teaching at Auburn. Again, DO NOT take Moss for Concepts.
you can tell he cares about the students and cares about what he is teaching. BUT the course is a joke. the curriculum doesn't line up with each exam and its a STRUGGLE trying to understand the material. and even if you think you know the material. trust me you don't. lectures aren't very helpful so its basically based on luck. would not recommend
Lectures don't help you learn the material whatsoever he focuses too much on relating it to real life than teaching. Test material is nowhere to be found doesn't correlate to lectures at all. It is easy concepts but when you don't know what you are supposed to be learning it makes it difficult. Lied about curving all semester. Reviews not helpful.
Not a bad guy, just has no clue what he's doing. If you can find the right stuff to study the tests aren't terrible but it's really hard getting the right study material. Save yourself the stress and take a different professor or class.
Either don't take this class or choose a different professor. He is a nice guy but horrible professor. The lectures were boring and the material was all over the place. I went into every test hoping for a miracle regardless of how long I studied. He did offer extra credit to bring grades up and curves the exams at the end of the semester.
Baby if you are out there do not ignore the reviews, I usually think I can slide by professors with bad ratings and usually I end up okay and actually like the person. That being said do NOT do this to yourself. This class, though the topic material is very interesting this man is not worth it. The belittling and rude behavior is not worth it!
You will walk away from this course more confused than when you arrived. There is no way to correctly study for exams, lectures were all over the place and EXTREMELY boring and useless. Do yourself a favor and get another professor.
Not good at staying on top. Does not follow the course schedule. We were very behind in the class. Somedays he just did demonstrations and did not teach anything. He was very boring and not engaging. He always had technology problems. His test questions were random
He rambles a lot. I already do not like science but he because of him I hate it more. He cannot stay on topic. He is not good at engaging students in his lectures. His quizzes has multiple spelling errors and had little to no details. He is not professional. Stay away from this class. He should retire.
Professor Moss will not explain the coursework to you and does not lecture on the topics relevant to the upcoming exams, leaving us 11 units behind schedule. Many of the averages in a class of 200< people fall at 50% or below. The test questions are entirely random, and most do not align with our textbooks.
This is the worst class I've ever taken. I'm highly academic and took Concepts because I have several harder courses for my major. His lectures don't align with the textbook, and his test doesn't align with either the textbook or his lectures. When my entire class scored a C or lower on our test, he claimed it was our fault and called us stupid.
Anthony Moss was a scatterbrained, technologically challenged, and stubborn man that should not be teaching. He had no grace when the class average for the first exam was a 65% and his lectures were difficult to follow. He could not get iClicker to work correctly for the first month but did not fix the grades. Avoid at all costs.
DO NOT TAKE he is super scatterbrained and literally cannot spell Most tests and quizzes have so many typos its hard to get a good grade The class average for tests was a 60 and he didnt scale and said it was our faults. his lectures are all over the place and hard to follow. cannot figure out iclicker, but he yells at you if you dont come to class
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! He literally is the worst professor at Auburn. He's test and quizzes are so hard and have so many typos and repeating questions. The class avg is always a 60 and he will not curve and just call us stupid. He is very challenged with clicker and will start and stop the class 1,000 times with will mess up your grade.
He is literally the worst teacher I have ever had. I was a biomed major and went through much harder classes than this, yet his concepts class was easily the worst one I've ever had. His lectures are all over the place and the tests have nothing to do with the book, so there's really no way to study. DO NOT take his class.
He is an absolutely horrible teacher, please don't take him. His tests are about random stuff he hardly mentions in lecture. His powerpoints are 35 slides with little to no information. His I-Clicker barley works, I've been to every class and I have two absences. The test also have around 5-6 chapters for each one, which there is only 2 tests.
How does this guy have a job? We finished the year 8-9 units behind the other classes and he talks about random stuff 90% of the class. He does not write in full sentences and has terrible grammar. His "study guides" make zero sense and everyone fails the tests. The department forced him to give out extra credit because of how bad everyone did.
He contradicts everything he tells you and will change information about assignments last minute. He tries to hard to sound smart and just speaks straight nonsense.
DO NOT take this professor. He is severely scatterbrained, cannot use technology for the life of him, and doesn't relate lectures to the material we are tested on. We have been several units behind, and if it wasn't for the lab, I would fail this class. He calls us stupid when we fail his tests, even though they don't relate to his "study" guides.
DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, TAKE THIS CLASS. I did not listen to rate my professor and regretted it. I thought it wouldn't be that bad and it was terrible. Listen to these reviews and DO NOT take Dr. Moss
Do not take Dr. Moss. He is a pretty nice guy, but there are only 2 exams and a final. The exams won't tank your grade because they are only 20 points but you better just say a prayer before because the questions are not from the textbook OR his lectures- just random stuff. Canvas page is extremely scattered. On the bright side the lab is easy.
just dont take. I didn't listen rate my professor and now regret it. I never went to class bc there was no point. The only thing that saved me in this class was the lab. also the quiz questions for hw aren't all on quizlet and I would fail some even when I looked up every question.
Concepts of Science with Anthony Moss is a battle, but one you can win. I had to take this class to get my last science credit, so I took it even knowing his reputation. I read the textbook and took notes on it, then studied SCMH 1010 quizlets and got high Bs on the tests. He uses iClicker for attendance, but you can check in from anywhere.
Prof. Moss loves science and cares about his students, however, he is very disorganized and his quizzes are confusing. I had to approach him about poorly made questions several times. If you sit in the back of the class during exams, you can see that literally like 1/3 of the class cheats, which is frustrating if you want to be an honest student.
Just terrible. The tests cover none of what he talks about in classes. He also assigns quizzes with material we haven't even covered in class yet. Questions are terribly worded, oftentimes with either typos or repeated answer choices. Rambles about random things that has nothing to do with what we are talking about, and is scatterbrained severely.
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS. If there were a way to rate a professor as a 0, this man would have it. He's so scatterbrained, his lectures make no sense and relate nothing to the exam, and the textbook and any Quizlet are useless. I only passed because it was really easy to cheat on the exams. If you have the option to take another class, do it
DO NOT TAKE DR. MOSS. I didn't listen to reviews because I had to take this course. He is very aggressive and will call you out in class; he is just straight-up rude. He will not respond to your emails about grades or questions. Exams are almost impossible, and he is so scatterbrained. If you take this course, prepare to be constantly annoyed.
this has been easily the worst class I have ever taken. He is a professional rambler. 98% of everything he covers you will never be tested of quizzed on. All of the tests and quizzes are whatever he senile mind can come up with on the day of. He should lose his job. Everyone fails and struggles in the class and he never offers any help.
DO NOT take Anthony Moss. If there is one professor to avoid it is him. His lectures have no structure and make absolutely no sense. Which, translates to his quizzes and tests that are full of errors. He does offer extra credit and good attendance will get you a percentage point added to your final grade. His class is a waste of money and time.
Do not take this class unless you want to be angry every day. Moss actually has no clue how to teach. He is old and scatter brained. please trust everyone when they say this class is a joke.
Never would take this professor again. Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. If there was a lower ranking than 1, I would give it to Professor Moss. He rambles on for entire lecture periods about useless information. Nothing that he ever talks on is ever on the test, and it turns into a guessing game. Completely disorganized and very rude.
Avoid this class at all costs! Prof. Moss is disorganized and scatterbrained. Tests cover random material, not what's discussed in lecture. But unstuckstudy AI can help with preparation.
DO NOT TAKE HIM, i read these reviews in December picking my schedule and thought "its gonna be fine" it was NOT fine. Horrible class, exams are guessing game, no point in even studying. he is old and I feel bad for him but wait till next semester and get a new teacher. NOT. WORTH. IT.
Do not take this class with him, absolutely terrible. Shows up late, tests are completely random, none of the material covered in class is connected to the tests. There is no structure to the units and how everything is paired together. His study sessions are him yelling at you for not knowing something he "covered" in class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Not tech savy. His canvas page was soooo confusing to find anything we needed. His tests had nothing to do with his lectures. He had reviews on zoom before exams but every time someone would ask a question he would get mad. Easily the worst teacher I've had at auburn. He knows a lot about science but he is just too old to be teaching
DON'T DO IT. He is the most worst prof i've ever had. His tests are a complete guessing game. There's no point going to class because his lectures don't cover the material on the test. He had test reviews over zoom but would get mad at anyone who asked him questions and would reply by saying it was covered in class which it was in fact NOT.
god his lectures are SO boring - uses iclicker and they're so hard to follow. Very bad at technology and will be rude to you if you ask questions during his review session. probably hasnt updated his material in 12 years and also half of his tests aren't even anything hes talked about. His thought train needs to be studied in a lab hes so odd
I read the reviews beforehand thinking it wouldn't be as bad and it was worse. All of the quizzes and test questions had NOTHING to do with what he taught in class. Doesn't know how to use technology and is extremely rude if you have questions. He also gets there late and blames it on the students. Most people pass tests because they cheat.
He is honestly the rudest teacher I have ever had. Don't ask him a question, because he will talk back and try to embarrass you. He will go on in his lectures about things that have nothing to do with what is on the assignments. The tests are very difficult with multiple choice, short answer, and drawing. It is so tiring and disheartening.
i would not wish a class with this man on my worst enemy. do NOT take his class. he is absolutely horrific, has no clue what is going on, slides are at least 10 years old, and the tests are absolutely nothing of what he is teaching. there is no teaching, he is just speaking. he will genuinely tank your gpa and should never step foot back on campus.
DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES. He's the worst professor ever and should not legally be allowed to teach because of how bad he is. His canvas page is such a mess and his tests have nothing to do with the lectures so theres no point in showing up to class. I apologized to my parents for taking his class because of how much of a waste of money it was
such a hard class, he is really nice and sweet tho. his tests are a guessing game and so hard. if you have to take it, take it but if you can wait or chose a diff teacher, not him
Truly not as bad as everyone says, but it isn't great. Moss just talks half of the time and doesn't teach. The lectures and PowerPoints don't align with the book very well. FOR TESTS, study the PowerPoint and take notes in class. That will be your best chance at getting A's. The final exam is cumulative. This class is hard, but possible. Good luck.
Super sweet guy, but the class was kind of nonsense. He just read off powerpoints and you technically don't have to go, just check in online. There were plenty of opportunities to get your grade up and the quizzes and random assignments really saved my grade, the tests are also very easy.
He is pretty scattered but is passionate about what he teaches
he's so bad. could rant forever. outdated slides, snarky comments, SO disorganized, didn't tell us what chapters r on the final, canvas is wrong, supposed to be easy & I'm on the verge of getting a B. I rly thought I was gonna prove all these people wrong and do so good in his class but no I agree with all of them now. do not be like me.
I am one of the few people ik w an a, but this class is genuinely horrible. When I looked at his reviews before I started taking the class I thought all these people are dramatic- NO.THEY.ARENT.
Do not take this professor. Tests have nothing to do with the material learned in class. The presentations are confusing and all over the place. “Review sessions” aren't helpful at all and he makes you feel like a fool when asking questions. This teacher needs to retire.
never went to class, never studied and ended with a 95. very easy, lab was also extremely easy. tests are not in lockdown browser. def take him for concepts its like you're not even taking it.
Probably the worst prof I've ever had ! I read reviews when registering that were awful and thought “he won't be thaaat bad.” but he was. he doesn't care about his students, his lectures are out dated and don't match up to the exams, and when you talk to him about anything outside of class he acts like you're annoying him. take anyone else!
Dont take him.
Class is easy but professor is lost
While he may be an old dusty freak, I consider Moss like a father figure that I never had in my life. I felt like I could go to Moss for valuable life help outside of the classroom. Inside the classroom, I loved listening to his beautiful voice. I am in love with the old dusty freak named Moss.
