Fun teacher to listen to. Kept me interested the entire semester. Be careful though. He appears easy at first, but after his first mid-term you'll realize you wished you had payed more attention. I'd take him again.

Prof.Samad is- by far- my favorite teacher at ELAC! He opened my eyes to a lot of things that I see before.He definately shows the true meaning of "keeping it real".He tells things like they are.If you want to hear the truth about what has happened with African Americans in the past.Take Mr.Samad!

He is entertaining and funny but his tests were hard. We had take home essay tests but there is so much information. You HAVE to go to class because there are so many notes! Final was 4 essay questions!

Very intelligent man who cares about his students. His tests are very very hard. Even after extensive studying. He gives enough extra credit but you must do it from day 1 and get A's and B's on your tests. There is no reason to not get an A following these guidelines. First test is graded on a curve

If you are going to take Political Science 1 take it with Mr. Samad. I got an "A" in his class, he was helpful and very explanatory, he's entertaining, in whiched helped me remember things better. Also, be prepared to write an oral presentation, bonus points for participating. He also gives lots of ex. credit, but be sure to pay attention.

Easily the best teacher I've ever had in my years. I've taken classes from a lot of different professors; Johns Hopkins University, Occidental College, and Yale university and by far he is the greatest.

samad is the best teacher on this campus, and one of few who expects their students to possess a bit of intellect. the other teachers should obserce his class and learn how to engage thier students. he is hard, but that is a positive thing, because you begin to develop the skills you will need at a four year university.

he is very interesting to listen to but it takes a certian amount of crtical thinking to pass. i was able to pull off an A only because i can write essays so if you are bad at essay writing do not take this class. his lectures are very clear so clear in fact that i never even opened my book and passed.

He is one of the greatest proffesors in ELAC. His lectures are very articulate and never boring as a matter of fact they are fun! He always dresses clean and professional. However, most of his assignments and test consist of comprehensive essay's. Not a good class for poor writers.

He's an interesting and very funny guy. Basically got an easy a by memorizing his notes. He tells and hints you to you what questions are going to be on the test. Tests are essay but you dont have to be a good writer to get an A. Just write what he mentions in his notes.

Overall good teacher. Just need to pay attention to his prompts and you'll be fine. He even has a open book and note test. Barely any homework and always gives extra credit. I do recommend.

Great teacher. He uses everyday examples to teach & constantly grabs students attention. Hes intimidating at first but he just wants student to learn & do the work. Hes funny and cusses alot, which makes the class quite entertaining. He does however write a little sloppy so I suggest to sit close. Note taking is important for it will help on tests.

I really enjoyed this class. Samad is crazy and super fun you cant really mess up in his class unless you really want to. He give tons of extra credit. the Tests are so so but if you study then they are a brezze. I thought I was going to get a C, cuz I hate history stuff and I got an A. Super easy I so recommend.

I had him over the summer. Truly knows what he's talking about and helps you understand by throwing out humorous analogies. Has a very good sense of humor and always made his lectures fun and interesting. Highly recommend it to anyone who needs to take PolySci.

i dont kno wat people r talkin bout him being ez becuz he isnt. i took him for summer and he had a lot of notes and his tests were 5 essay questions each w/ only an hr and a half 2finish them! he gives great lectures but they arent as helpful for the tests. There is also a speech dat u have to do that he doesnt mention in syllabus. take sum1 else!

His class was very easy. Midterm 1 was open book and open notes (multiple choice) Midterm 2 and Final exam was open notes (essay). The people who failed his class were most likely always absent, late or does not take notes. I took the class because it was require in my major and I am glad that I did take him and I learned alot.

Dr. Samad is the man, even though he tends to make funny jokes about his wife and women. His class consist of two midterms, a final, and an essay with presentation. The class is not hard, its just you get a grade for the amount of time you put into the class. He expects his students to be study. Overall, great guy with great sense of humor.

Hes crazy! lol he's a funny teacher. He has an interesting way of teaching. One thing he shows is a lot of movies and video clips and your required to take notes then type them out and turn in the following day. When he would lecture his notes were all over the place on the white board and kinda messy. But overall he's good.

Granted his tests can be challenging, but it's common sense to read the material before class so you can know what's going on and such. He responded to any questions I had and he made class the exact of boring! He's super funny and makes you see politics in a whole new light.

The funniest most entertaining professor at ELAC. Engages the class and makes learning this stuff fun. Just google him, you'll be impressed! He lets you use the textbook and notes on tests. Write down everything he says. I recommend a voice recorder. Take his class you won't regret it.

Cant believe im gonna say this but I am enjoying my poli sci class. Samad is an awesome instructor always cracking jokes in class. His lectures are extemely helpful and he tells you what is to be expected on the test. He gives students breaks on homework too. IF you turn them in late hell still accept it but for less points which is more than fair.

Wow. I loved professor Samad. I took poli sci @ valley and hated my professor. So I took a chance to try and add poli sci during the summer of '12 and was lucky to get in. If you want a professor who knows his stuff, this is your man. He has a great sense of humour. Liked that he was of my ppl Afro Am in a latin community. 2 big thumbs up.

I loved this Professor. I hated History and anything to do with Politics, not anymore thanks to him. He is funny, easy going,and teaches you in a way that makes you want to learn more. Gives extra credit, and class participation is encouraged. Take his class if you can get in, you won't regret it.

Dr. Samad's Class has been one of my favorites Ive taken at ELAC. He is quite out there with his language but this is college so get used to it. His class is generally pretty easy if you pay attention and literally take notes on everything he writes and says. He makes it pretty to easy to pass if you really try.

I hate politics but this was by far my favorite class in college because of Samad. He is hilarious and has a great sense of humor which allows his students to enjoy his class. Most of his tests are open book/notes. Never really gives homework. He's a brilliant teacher.

This is my least favorite subject and left it for last. He made it so interesting and actually got me interested in subject. He is so funny and makes his lectures so fun. Time flew by. Dr. Samad is a great political science professor and is knowledgeable in the subject. Dr. Samad will explain politics in a manner the is easy to understand. Every second of class you will be engaged and most of all entertained. He is good at keeping you interested in the subject. Midterm you can use your notes and the final just notes.

Professor Samad is a great instructor and makes political science very interesting. You do have to work for your grade and he takes his subject serious. You must attend class because if you have a boarder line grade he will bump your grade up based on attendance and participation.

Hilarious. Raises awareness on relative subjects. Smart. He answers all your questions. Group project was a bit tough cause of conflicting schedules. Offers a maximum of 60 extra credit points. Makes you think. Highly recommend Dr. Samad. This was the Honors class.

Professor Samad brought to the class room the energy needed to capture the attention. He used examples to convey his message and never skipped a topic if not clearly understood by the people. He did give us a group project and we had to present it to class. Expect to understand the material for his exams include questions you may not expect.

He is an inspirational professor who is well aware of the topics he discusses. He engages with the students on a level of understanding that they can relate to. I did not get a satisfactory grade in his class because I did not read enough in the book, which he CLEARLY states!! I would take this class over again for my own personal challenge.

Kept the class very interesting by using real life examples to relate to material. He is there if you have questions. Participation is a huge plus. Exams are written. In this class you have to really know your information to pass but most of it is provided in class so we didn't even use the book. No homework.

You'll definitely work for your grade with Prof. Samad. He's a great prof, very knowledgeable yet funny; using modern examples made the class easier to understand. Professor Samad was a very cool professor .. his class was not complicated at all but you do have to work for your grade. I still haven't got my grade after two weeks of waiting but I know I passed. Took his once a week class, & his lectures made it go by fast. 50 point multiple choice midterm around Wk 4 that was primarily on the book (was open note/book), 2nd midterm on Wk 7 5 questions/1 page each (open notes), & 5 questions 1 page each final. TAKE GOOD NOTES & DON'T MISS HIS LECTURE, essay exams were on that. Be aware of current events.

Tests are all based on his lectures (I barely touched the book), open notes/book, and he allowed a one-paged cheat sheet for the final. He has clear grading criteria and easy, straight-forward tests. There's one group project (10 page paper) and minimal homework. He's hilarious and his lectures are easy to understand; write fast and participate!

Professor is very cool and outgoing. He might have a heavy personally but he knows the subject. Exam 1 is multiple choice and open book and notes, Exam two is Essays with Notes, and 3rd Exam is Essays in Green Book with one page notes. Have fun.

Group Project. 2 Midterms, 1 Final. Do all the extra credit! He's funny & uses real life examples to help understand his lectures better. Lots of note-taking so be ready to write. His tests are mostly based off his lectures but the book helps especially with topics he didn't get to finish during class. Pay Attention, read & you're sure to pass.

Samad is one of the BEST professors I took at ELAC. I took him for African American History 4 and 5, and political science. You will definitely learn a lot in his class. He makes learning very enjoyable and his humor is a BIG plus. He is intelligent, humble, and very inspirational.

Professor Samad is hilarious at times but his lectures are long and sometimes boring. He has a unique way of teaching which is by having casual conversations. One group project, make sure to work on it (it counts as a big percentage of your grade). If he sees that you are really trying, he will aid you. Would take him again if I had the chance.

I took Dr. Samad for FA17. He is a good professor, provides a lot of real life examples related to the topic. His lectures are long and heavy as his teaching technique is by having casual conversations, but if you can make it through, it is definitely worth it. 1 group project which can decide your grade. He can be extremely hilarious at times.
