He makes me want to kill myself. I went with my notes the math tutoring center and the prof there told me I was being taught the wrong formulas by Seraphin. The man is NOT good. Don't take him as a teacher if you can help it. He can't teach.

I started gnawing on my arm in lecture just to lessen the pain of the class. My monday and wednesday nights were filled with sadness because I dreaded going to the class. The class killed me. I felt sorry for him he was so bad. GET OUT NOW.

Could have been the easiest math class ever, but he is so IMPOSSIBLE. He is difficult to understand and incredibly slow. I could barely get a passing grade just because he is such a horrible teacher. He is only on campus to do research.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. says hes the nicest professor at UD but I do not concur, did not show up for two office hour appointments that I made with him. Lost my second exam for a few weeks.Unhelpful and uninterested in his students. Speaks very softly and with a thick accent so he is hard to understand. Take Krissinger if you need this class.

So for those of you who are skeptical about taking this guy for statistics I'll help clarify. I used to LIKE this subject before I took his class. He was actually nice in the beginning but got really nasty towards the end, probably because (through NO fault of his own) the majority of students were doing poorly by then.

I had this guy for both 201 and 202 and both were a waste of my time. He's useless; by far the worst teacher I have ever had! You can't understand him, his notes are useless, his exams are impossible...not to be cliche but AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

His guy is a horrible teacher. Really bad english, doesnt really know the material. Makes mistakes on examples in class. 3 exams total and quizes every week in lab.

Statistics is a challenging subject but this professor doesn't make it easier. Very hard to follow. The exams are extremely hard. Just multiple choice exams. Quizzes help you a lot. Try to avoid this class with this professor.

Very hard to understand and follow. This class sucks no matter who you take it with, but I found Crissinger to be slightly better. After the first 2 weeks I realized I had no idea what we were doing and started to attend Crissinger's lectures, which I found a bit better. My savior for this class: buy Statistics II for Dummies, very helpful.

TAKE CRISSINGER! this guy's hard to understand and super boring. practice tests and class problems are not like exams. exams are so hard!!! i thought stat was ok until i had him! he made it so hard and i already knew most of it from AP Stat in high school

This class was very difficult! make sure you review constantly and use the book to help you understand because the he was pretty much useless. The exams were basically impossible. He is also very hard to understand and hear, so sit in the front of the class!

PROFESSOR SERAPHIN IS A NIGHTMARE. HIS LACK OF INTEREST IN THE STUDENTS IS INCREDIBLE. HE GETS AGGRAVATED WHEN YOU ATTEND HIS OFFICE HOURS AND WILL BARELY LET YOU THROUGH THE DOOR. HE IS A MISERY!!! Seraphin is the worst!!! Nasty old man who hates the world. Literally the most narrow-minded prick at UD. Highest failure rate of any math class.

Professor Seraphin simply put is ambiguous. He comes to class high and has no interest in making any sense out of his mess of slides. He did not write one piece of material for the course himself, including the exams. REALLY BAD

HORRIBLE teacher. I honestly wish I had listened to everyone who told me not to take him. I go to every class, every lab, take good notes, and do the homework problems in the book, and I'm struggeling to get a D-. He doesn't care though and gives no extra credit and doesn't curve any exams even though more than half of the class failed.

Terrible teacher. Very hard to hear him if you don't sit in the first 3 rows and his hand writing is almost impossible to read. DO NOT TAKE HIM. I got a B in the class but had to teach myself 90 percent of the material. Labs don't help for anything either.

He is the worst teacher I have ever had. Meeting with him in office hours was useless because he did not help me at all or answer any of my questions. The lab work and data assignments are useless for the 2 exams. His handwriting is impossible to read and all his notes he does by hand so nothing is online. Take anyone but him.

Do not take this class. Seraphin is the worst professor I've ever had. Although he is a nice man, he cannot teach.

Avoid this teacher if you can, but it is likely you will be stuck with him for stat 1 or 2. If you are stuck with him, don't bother going to lecture he will only confuse you. The bet way to get through this class is to use the textbook and actually take notes yourself. If you do, the class is manageable. if you have stat expeirence you will b fine

Seraphin is very hard to understand and has impossible to read handwriting. Class was extremely tough but im not a math guy. My TA saved my life and either he or myself reading the textbook taught everything. No attendance at lectures but when you go Seraphin will just confuse you more. Only good is he drops 2 lowest quizzes. Don't take him though.

He is a very nice person but that doesn't make for a good teacher necessarily. He writes lots of notes on the board but his handwriting is so poor that no one could ever understand what he wrote. You can find notes for the unit in the textbook though. The online assignments aren't too bad and the website you do it on is very helpful for class.

Math 113 is basically a remedial math class, and he made it a thousand times harder than necessary. His lectures make no sense, so I taught myself 100% of the material.. But attendance is mandatory, so this class just ends up being a massive waste of time. Seraphin is completely useless and easily worst prof I've ever had.

Do not take Seraphin if you can help it. He is so unclear, you dont know how much things are worth, how he grades attendance, and how to do the math he "teaches". I did not learn a single thing from class, had to teach myself everything from the online homework. Do not buy the textbook you dont open it. He takes attendence, 3 tests and final.

113 is much harder than necessary for a bunch of students in non-related majors. He takes attendance each class and, accent aside, his lectures are hard to understand. He refuses to help, even in office hours and seems to be so focused on making sure that people who don't come to class fail that he neglects to help struggling students.

Worst professor Ive taken at UD. Focuses on making it more difficult for people who dont come to class to pass than he does actually trying to help his other students. Finished literally 1 point below a C and he refused to let me do anything to bring it up, so I couldn't graduate on time. Exams dont cover what youll study so dont bother.

This professor is terrible. The "lectures" are jumbled nonsense with poor handwriting that nobody can read. This class is full of students who have liberal arts majors and is meant to be simple, but he makes it impossible. He doesn't explain anything during the lectures and when asked about homework he answers "It will be difficult". DO NOT TAKE

Professor Seraphin is one of the worst professors I've ever had. He lectures in a monotone voice, and know's little correct english grammar. I dreaded going to his class.

If you want to spend a whole semester working your ass off in Statistics just to receive a terrible grade and be forced to retake it - take MATH201. If not, stay away. DO NOT TAKE STATS HERE. I was one of those kids who didn't listen to everybody who advised to take it elsewhere. The semester has ended and I deeply regret taking it at UD. AVOID.

I didn't miss a single class and was still lost. He doesn't use a mic and mumbles with a thick accent. He didn't do a practice problem all semester. He comes to class with prewritten notes and points. Our final project (15% of grade) was a 10 page paper with no rubric and 1 sentence of instructions. I worked so hard to receive a mediocre grade.

Even online, this class sucks. He's dry, boring, and just reads off the slides. He asks trick questions which is the only reason the class is super hard. I've taken 3 stat classes for chemistry and chemical engineering, and this one was hardest by far. Don't take him. Please save yourself.

Math113, or stat, is supposed to be the easiest math class provided at this school, but it is the opposite. I took stat in high school and it does not correlate in the slightest. The professor has an extremely heavy accent and teaches very quickly. Does not understand students questions nor does he really understand the curriculum himself.

Can't even explain how terrible of a professor he is. Vague notes you can't access online, answers questions poorly, another prof makes the tests and seraphin is pretty clueless about them. Found out the format of the final was different than what he told us only because my friend emailed him. Doesn't even know about the tests he's giving us.

Professor Seraphin is a nice guy, but not a great professor. The whole UD Math department is TRASH, and this class is no different. They do not take responsibility for anything. Our 2nd test most of the class failed, but somehow it was our fault that everyone did so poorly. There is stuff on the tests that aren't even covered in lecture. DONT TAKE!

AWFUL, took this class thinking it would be an easy but was the worst possible class, soo confusing he even confuses himself, had no idea what he was talking about during class so I had to hire a tutor multiple times a week and went to the tutoring lab too, weekly online assignments were impossible since he didn't teach the lesson in class, BEWARE!

Absolutely terrible, the door is louder than his talking, offers no help, seems like he doesn't want to be there b/c it is below him, asks class for basic help with problems like he doesn't how to do basic math problems, just awful.

I took stat in High School, knew this class was said to be hard, simply do not take, take it at your local community college. GPA dropper, Im not going to bash the guy, but just do not take him.

If youre debating on taking stat with seraphin, I recommend against it. Its doable, but your grade will suffer. For word probs on the exams, you must right EXACTLY what he wants or you get points off. The material itself is quite easy if you pay attention, but hes very picky and if you go to office hours, prepare for him to make u feel dumb!

If you get Math114 with him, I suggest for you to change your class. He speaks very low that you can hear outside activity more than him. He makes basic math seem hard and teaches you the long way of things. The class is boring and it is not engaging. He did not make the exams or knew what exactly would be on the exam. Terrible

worst professor I've had at UD. he does problems during class but doesn't explain basically anything he does and then just moves on. he explained things in such a confusing way and wouldn't even go over everything that was on the exam. didn't matter if u went to class or not, you'd do bad regardless unless you taught yourself literally everything

I kid you not the absolute worst professor I have come in contact with. I know how to work hard and get good grades in even the toughest of classes but this class by far was so poorly tough and I received the worst grade in my college career. If you're taking STAT 200, take it ONLINE and NOT with this cruel man. Hope you read this, Tony.

He couldn't care less about his students, doesn't provide any help with literally anything. The grading is based on 3 exams and a project for which the prompt looks like it was written for a 7th-grade social studies class. Also will not tell you what to study for the exams or host any sort of review session even during class time. pls do not take.

Dude was asynch but gave his students another prof's lectures to learn from. Didn't do anything except email when a new assignment came out. Very absent. I think I saw the dude once and that was during optional office hours. Homework, quizzes, and exams look identical to each other, just different numbers. This class is the reason I bought chegg.

Not accommodating at all to students needs. Its all asynchronous, so he just posts slides from other professors with no examples of how to do any problems on homeworks or exams. Very reluctant to provide extra help even when asked and shows very little care toward the individual student. DO NOT take this course, or take a different professor!

Took Stat200 asynchronous online. There were no lectures-- just powerpoint slides that were impossible to learn from. I was only able to learn from the MyStatLab homework assignments. He didn't teach at all but the tests were exactly like the homework so not that bad.

The worst professor I have had in college so far. He did not care about making students lives easier at all throughout the course. Honestly it seemed like he did the complete opposite and did everything in his power to make every assignment as inconvenient and time consuming as possible. Would not recommend to anyone.

His explanations in class make no sense. His lectures are read directly off of the slides. If I hadn't taken AP Statistics in high school, I would have no idea what was going on. I'm basically teaching myself through this course and only learn when doing the homework on my own so attending class is basically pointless.

I could not hear what he was saying because I couldn't understand him, then he also just read from the slideshows and if a student answered wrong he would just give the right answer instead of letting them work through it. He gives far to much homework that is graded very unfairly and his test and quizzes are online which make it very difficult.

Genuenly the worst professor I have had at UD. He does not care to teach but instead reads the slides word for word. You will get the same out of the class whether you go or stay home and read the slides by yourself. Only positive is the tests were online.

One of the worst professors I've ever had. Can't help but feel bad for the guy because it's obvious he has no clue what's going on.. Whispers directly from the slides that he didn't make into a microphone that he is unable to work. Thankfully I took stat in high school or else I would've had no chance in this class.

The only good thing about him is all the HWs, quizzes, and exams; other than that he is a complete menace to his students, the material he provides online barely/particularly helps. What's worse is that he posted an exam a week before the fall break AND had the audacity to post a quiz right after I took the exam and right before the break.

The lectures weren't helpful and I had to teach myself during the whole semester. The homework's really hard if you don't have a good understanding of statistics.The quizzes were posted last minute and I failed some. I got a D on the 2nd exam because I had to teach myself.The good thing is that there is no final exam, but I don't suggest this class

This professor was very boring and I would not even go to class by the end of october. I taught myself the entire course and it was heavy on homework. the exams were online but still impossible to do and they were like 3 hours long. Do not take this class unless it is required, it was brutal.

Class is EXTREMELY boring, but mandatory. He gets through only 4 slides a class and just reads off the slides which he posts on canvas. All hw, exams, and quizzes are all online and you have 2 attempts for everything. Its an easy class but the professor just makes it SO boring. If it wasn't mandatory to go to class I would rate it a 5.
