Worst professor, studying doesn't help, and neither does he.
Do not plan on getting a good grade in this class! Its impossible to please him

Alot of work to be done, should be made into 2 classes, be ready to work. Great information better than JAVA.

Excellent professor. Leading edge knowledge. Challenging but well worth it. I am getting a job based on the knowledge from this class.
Absolutely the single worst professor I have ever had. I paid cash for a class in which all I learned was how big the professors ego is. Do yourself a favor and do NOT attempt coursework via this professor.
I deserved a B and got a D. When people go to his office he types on computer and won't look at you.
Hard class. Must give lots of effort and time, go get help from him often. Good information for an MIS major. I would suggest this class if you like real life work. Better than JAVA!

Avoid at all costs. Expect Doctoral workload in an undergrad class. He is no help at all during office hours. You ask for help and he basically blows you off. Terrible attitude and his head is so big I'm surprised he can fit it through the door.

Okay teacher. He will help you, but only if you have gone through all of the tutorials. Discovering Computer exams are not easy, but if you do the practice exams you will do okay. Excel and Access exams come straight from the practice tests. Easy "B&
Blah blah blah blah blah... Strict attendance policy, but I never went to class b/c he's so boring... The few times I went, I fell asleep. Not helpful, makes you get up in class and show everyone what you did on your homework. Thumbs down!
You can teach yourself the info for this class by going through the book! He is so boring. Never went to class. Thumbs down! Take Prof. Alchaar instead!
One of the best professors I had sofar. He knows his stuff and is always helpful in and out of class. The class is pretty easy. If you follow his advice and study the way he tells you, you can get an A. I am surprised with his patience with some students.

Nice guy. Gives realistics class loads where we have to actually do some real hands-on work (not for slackers). Great if you want to learn, but if you are lazy - stay clear!! Would reccomend him for graduate students...
This class is hard but that is becuase of the setup in the business dept. You don't learn on the comp. He does the best he can. As long as you are there, it is ok
Great guy, and good classroom ideas and projects (PS! to the cry-babies below: you are in college so EXPECT to actually do something or get a job at WalMArt)
It's a boring class, but he knows his stuff well and presents it the best he can. It'd be better if we had computers in the classroom so we could follow along, but it's not his fault. Tests are pretty easy. I never did the homework or paid attention in class and I have an A. He's a nice guy and will help you out any way he can. I recommend him.
Nice guy. You don't need to attend class after the first week until you start Excel and Access. Doesn't take attendance. First 2 exams are from the reading material in the book. Make sure you study the book! Classes leading up to the second exam can be self taught. First week is important b/c he will cover the language for designing a webpage.

He is not hard to understand, but he does not understand questions or concerns students might have. Has no sympathy, really. Overall, not too too bad.
Incredibly boring class. Boring material and Dr. S has zero talent for giving lectures. What you end up with is horrifically boring lectures with Dr. S mumbling through a Power Point presentation. The books are rediculously expensive and I've barely touched them. All you really need is the Simnet card if you pick up on computer stuff easily.
I am a good student...only class i have every failed. Do not take him!! very smart man..awful professor. horrible at explaining material and tests are a foreign language. very unsympathetic as well. he could care less about his students. AWFUL CLASS DO NOT TAKE!
He's not a bad teacher, just boring. Very monotone, and I still don't see the point of going to class. I just went for attendance, but everything I learned was in the book. Just did the lessons and reapplied it in tests. Pretty useless class, but they stress how important it is everytime you're in there. Have fun.
Not an easy class if you aren't cpu literate. Professor is very helpful, but grades, deadlines, and techniques are very stringent. Don't get behind! Attendance counts as 10% of the grade also.
Avoid if possible. He should not be considered a full time professor. Takes forever to grade assignments and takes off for any mistake. He is an attendance Nazi and assigns nearly impossible projects. He will make you feel dumb when you ask questions in class. He does not teach just assigns work and tests extremely hard. He is full of himself!
Very nice professor and helpful. Tests are challenging. You need to read the book and the powerpoint slides.
At the beginning of the course he seems friendly and loves to talk about Greece. After the drop date he gives a very hard test counting a lot. Then you go to him for help and he seems to enjoy that you made a bad grade. I think he secretly likes to have power over students and enjoys knowing he made them worry and squirm.
Horrible professor, this class is useless. All he does is read off power-points and enjoys to see students fail.
Tough class but very very useful. My friend who took the class last year got a job doing exactly what we learned and makes >$50k. The prof is very helpful and a great teacher. Be warned that this is not a class to fall behind in or to blow it off. He expects a lot of the students but I appreciate that he pushed me to do my best.
I got an A+ because I found out that he uses the exams from the test banks...if not I would of probably got a C. His test are super hard! you have to read every word of every chapter to get those questions right. He is SUPER strict when grading your blogs/presentations. He's not a bad teacher but def NOT the best.

Class is tough, teacher expects alot from students, but if you go and ask him for help he helps you, and is lenient on grading if you try then you get somewhat credit.

This class is the biggest waste of time I have ever seen! I think he makes the tests hard on purpose. I would avoid him if at all possible.
Dr. Stylianou, lol. He wants students to succeed & use our minds and manage time wisely. No one does HW, but this is the secret ALL THE 30PT QUES ON TEST ARE THE EXACT SAME QUESTIONS FROM HW. And He Gives the HW Answers, all you have to do it TRY<-No Really Write Something. The Project is a Beast lol, but if you have a (STRONG GROUP) you wont Die
He expects a lot and is picky at times but a pretty good teacher. You gotta put in a LOT of work to get an A but it's possible. Project is pretty difficult so get a good group.
AVOID. He is by far the worst teacher I have had at UNCC. He loves making his tests hard, not to mention 1st test was day after Super Bowl, 2nd test was day after spring break. and last test was the very last day of class, and then you have the final a week later. All he does is read off power point slides. No one should sign up for him.
If I could go back in time, and save the world from a tragedy or watch Stylianou cry. I would buy popcorn so I could watch him cry over and over. I wouldn't stop the crusades, I would watch him cry. This should say something about his teaching style....
Look, if you can avoid taking this guy then I suggest you do... It's nothing personal against him but he makes his class way more difficult than it has to be... Be prepared to do a lot of work. Group project is massive and will waste your time on free days (Pray for good group). He tries to keep students beyond class. He will destroy your GPA...
I beg you with all my heart not to take this professor! He is super hard and makes everything extremely stressful. I am warning you don't take him. You can study for hours and hours and still end up with a low d. He makes you work extra hard for grades and at the end you don't even pass the class, Half of my classmates had to retake the class over

He really is a terrible professor. He acts a bit condescending when you ask for assistance and has unusually high grading standards.
He is the WORST professor I've had in my five years at UNCC. He's rude, arrogant, and completely ineffective during lectures. He reads slides verbatim. Students worry so much about doing well on the exams, they don't even learn the information properly.
I would avoid this professor. He has a habit of teaching wrong information.
This professor is meh. I would avoid this teacher because of his lackluster teaching ability and not his tough grading. You can get a good grade but you have to put in hours.

Pretty much wasted tuition money for a teacher to read me PowerPoint slides every class period. He then wonders why people choose to not attend.

I usually don't have issues with professors but this guy is an anomaly. He is an unusually hard grader and his lectures are incredibly boring. The subject material is kind of dull but he doesn't even attempt to make the class slightly interesting.
To put bluntly, he is mediocre at best. His lectures are heavily lacking in depth. He is also kind of an unpleasant person to interact with.

i took this class this summer, so it was accelerated. content itself was pretty basic excel, and while there were a lot of assignments (i had like 2-3 a day most days), the work itself wasn't hard, just time consuming. its excel projects and graded auto
Not a ton good nor bad to say about Professor Stylianou. His summer class is straightforward but oh my goodness there is so much homework. I guess it is due to the pace of the course which I understand but at times it would feel like pure busy work. Probably a decent guy, didn't get to know him since the class was online. Overall class isnt hard.
He doesn't do anything . There's no lecture videos every thing done on matlab he doesn't even grade anything everything is auto. He's not helpful at all
