hes really entertaining and easy to listen to. hell go off on tangents sometimes but they are always funny. Upfront about whats on exams and always willing to help you!
He knows his material and is really into it, which makes the class very interesting when some of the material could be boring. He basically tells you the questions for the midterm and final, but allows you to bring summaries of the reading. He also likes to go off on random tangents which are always incredibly amusing.
Does not Seem interested in teaching. We had student presentations all semester, he just sits back and lets students try to teach. Did not learn anything.
Very intelligent man with a passion for archaeology, only matched by his ability to entertain students. He does seem overwhelmed by the demands of formulating a curriculum and balancing other professional obligations, perhaps he would benefit from a teaching assistant. In spite of this he has the potential to be a great professor in the field.
Classics 301 - Roman Archeology He rambles like crazy, and goes off on tangents all of the time, so his lectures are rather difficult to understand. He does, however, seem passionate about the subject, and the topic material is very interesting.
He really knows the material and is always willing to answer questions. He was quite entertaining but rambles on and stuffs too much information at you at once. No textbook use and the exams are open note and fairly grades.
If you're looking for a structured class do not take one with Anthony Tuck. Horrible teaching. No textbook, unorganized, barely any readings. All he does is tell stories of ****en times in Italy. If you don't like 10-15 page papers don't take a class with him. The slides he has are useless and he goes from one thing to another to fast.
This man is hilarious and the class is ridiculously easy. You dont have homework or readings at all but if you go to class ever you'll easily get an A. The exams take no time at all and there are no surprises. I've never skipped class unless I had to just because its always pretty funny and entertaining.
This guy was the best teacher I have ever had. He consistently entertained the class, while also teaching us the material. I never found a single class to be boring or useless. I took this course as a GenEd and it made me want to switch majors just to take more classes with the guy. I learned an incredible amount in this course. Thumbs way up!!!
i bought the book but i don't think it's necessary, he explains things so that you'll remember them, he goes off onto tangents but they're interesting he flips through the slides quickly but just listen to what he's saying rather than writing down the notes, he normally gives you at least one essay question before the exam so you can prepare for it
This was one of the most entertaining classes I have ever taken. You must attend the lectures to be able to do well in the class, but Tuck teaches it so well that you don't want to skip class. He is absolutely hilarious and his lectures are never boring!
Professor Tuck is so much fun! He's always cracking jokes and making the class interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go if you want to do well. Definitely looked forward to going to class! Didn't post notes online for our class, though. May have changed since then.
Amazing teacher inspired me to switch my major from Physics to a double of Anthropology and Classics, he has a tendancy to talk too fast but if you ask him to repeat himself he will gladly oblidge
Hes a chill guy, very funny and alwaysing making class fun. If you dont know alot abou greek myth and stuff you will be lost! So be sure to ask for help. Slides are online but wont do you much good unless you go to class and pay attention, he goes fast.
Intelligent man when questioned, but frequently gets off topic in lectures. His personal stories, while entertaining, can grow tiresome to the individual genuinely looking to learn about Greek Mythology. Would recommend but would warn to not have high expectations.
Absolutely fantastic teacher. Take him if you can. Goes off topic sometimes, but it's always worth it. Really wonderful guy, tests aren't bad if you even show up to class. Tuck is a champion.
This class is really fun and interesting, but watch out because the teacher goes really fast! He doesn't take attendance but in order to get a good grade you must go to class. The teacher is hilarious and the tests are easy if you paid attention. Don't buy the book you don't use it, it is a total waste of money!
DO NOT TAKE! He is an extremely nice guy, but the class is plain stupid, seriously. He tries to make himself look cool. Very unclear in his lectures, but puts all lecture slides online, one good thing about the class
easy class tuck is the man he made me want to go to class
Overall I liked this class. He can sometimes be unclear during his lectures and he flies through the slides. All in all he seems to want to make class fun. If you go to class you do fine on the exams! The paper is pretty easy too!
Overall, I liked the class. He really knows his stuff, but he flies through everything. He can be funny and he puts up all the lecture slides online. Its worth going to class and paying somewhat attention. Good choice for a gen-ed
NO TEXTBOOKS :D. Only issue is he can ramble a bit on different topics. Otherwise a great professor, gives extra credit. You do need to show up to learn though.
Awesome teacher. Funny and engaging. Made me want to be in class. Lots of funny stories. No need to buy the book. If you show up to class the tests are not difficult. I fully recommend Tuck as a teacher. One of my favorites in 3 years.
This was my favorite class I've ever taken at UMass. Tuck is an awesome prof, he goes off topic frequently but its always worth it and he usually ends up trying to tie it to what your discussing in class. Definitely take this class if you want to fulfill the AL gen ed
Prof Tuck is a great guy and an awesome professor. The class wasn't hard at all, but it was still really interesting. Tuck made you actually interested in the topic he was talking about. The lectures are online but I recommend going to class because he gives you a more in depth look at the topic, and that info could be on the exams. 3 exams 1 paper
Took his archaeology class back in 2009 and even though I go to Umass Boston now, I still refer back to his class and his published work. You ROCK Prof. Tuck!
Not a bad teacher. The issue here is that he likes to go on tangents, and he doesn't really focus enough on the things we care about. i.e.: Grades, Study guides, what to know for the tests, homework doesn't exist, only 2 papers. All he does is throw the information at you. Powerpoints online but pretty useless. Go to class and LISTEN to every word.
Amazing guy! Best gen ed you can take if you need an AL/AT. Class is really interesting and there is no homework. Tests aren't hard at all, just look at your notes. You can't just copy the notes from online. If you go to class he will tell you exactly what he is going to put on the test. I would definitely recommend
Tuck is great! Had him freshman year for Intro To Classical Archaeology and now I'm minoring in Classics. 103 covers really interesting topics from the Celtics to the Etruscans and Tuck makes you want to learn more. He also has a great sense of humor. Take any class you can with him!
Pretty funny guy. Sure their were some really dry lectures and somethings were not clear what was important, but he always tried to spice it up, and when he did, he was hilarious. Tests were fair, and I think the class was scaled fairly well. Answered questions well, and seemed to be a really nice guy. Would love to have again.
Absolutely hilarious and explains the material VERY well. The way he teaches, you remember everything he says.
Hands down the easiest and most interesting class at UMass. Two exams and a final, attendance not mandatory but you want to go because Tuck is hilarious and the class is really interesting. Cake.
By far the worst class I've ever taken. I'm shocked people enjoy it. Material is okay but he's unclear and goes off topic a lot. Essay questions on exam are very difficult. I'm a sophomore and his class will be my first C. (I have a 3.7 GPA and have taken extremely challenging courses) Unless you're familiar w. greek myth, dont take this class.
EASIEST A! do yourself a favor and take this class. oh and Tuck is the man.
Tuck is the man. Greek Mythology is a very easy yet very interesting subject. It explores funny myths that he loves to talk about. He goes off on hilarious tangents and stories too that are definitely worth listening to. You dont have to even go to class if you dont want to. Exams are easy if you go to class or already knw the material.
He taught an introductory archaeology class, and was a very funny professor! Always a funny story to tell. Knew his stuff, but he was kind of scatter-brained and went on tangents all the time. Kind of hard to follow at times. Slides online, but without the lecture, they were almost useless. Exams were easy, and very little required work!
Unless you love greek myth and have prior knowledge I do not recommend this class. I had to change it to pass fail and did very poorly on the exams even after studying for hours and going to every class. I recommend a different gen ed class. Tuck is hilarious though.
Professor Tuck is extremely passionate about his work. He is always enthusiastic when presenting the class with material because he has had so much experience in this field of studies. I would absolutely recommend any one of his classes to anybody, no matter what their major is.
Tuck is funny but just tells stories the whole class and doesn't underline any main points in his lectures. I have no idea what's going on in class and have no interest in Greek Mythology which is what he talks about everyday. No homework, no textbooks, 2 exams. The final is worth 65% of my grade and I am scared out of my mind. Pick another gen-ed.
This is a great class for people who are really interested in the subject and take extremely detailed notes. He often connects basic information to larger ideas in lecture therefore attendance in mandatory. Although he doesn't stress it the readings are a good summary of lectures and help with reviewing for exams.
Took tuck for multiple courses years ago and I loved him. He knows his stuff and is straight up interesting to listen to. I always wanted to actually go to his classes and that's saying something. He does go on tangents but they are always distantly related and hilarious one of my favorite profs hands down!
Anthony Tuck continues to be one of the most inspiring and hilarious professors at UMass. He does go on tangents, but they make class interesting and if you show up to class the exams are so easy. The workload is almost nonexistent. I always work my schedule around his classes
His class is the most entertaining and hilarious I've ever taken. Highly suggest this professor.
He's the best. Great personality and sense of humor. You definitely have to attend class and have an interest in the material to get an A, but the tests are very reasonable and he's just such a chill professor. Highly recommend him & the course!
Just dont take this class if you dont have an interest in Greek Mythology or prior knowledge. Yes, he is funny in class but he talks extremely fast and isn't very clear.
This class is extremely difficult. I went into this class somewhat interested in greek myth. However, he talks so fast, his powerpoints suck because they have about one sentence on them and then he just rambles on about what you really need to know. Two tests and a final worth 50% of your grade. NOT AN EASY GENED
This class was so easy for a level 200 class. He is so excitable and the the lectures are always so fun. He may talk fast but he gives us really detailed readings on the stories that we have to learn that interesting to read. He is a really nice guy that loves to interact with the students. Best (and easiest) classes I have ever taken.
I loved this class! Tuck is one of the best professors I've had! He's funny, gets really into the lectures and is very clear with the material. Posts all notes online and the readings are optional (but you should read them anyway) Tests are very easy, the paper in the class was easy. I actually wanted to go to lectures b/c they were so interesting.
Best professor ever! I LOVED this class! Class was always fun to go to, he was HYSTERICAL! Some prior knowledge is good to have before taking class. Tests were fair. Definitely take this class, seriously so funny and awesome!
This class was the BEST. He is very funny & upbeat, clear, and his exams are easy if you go to class and/OR do the readings (which are super easy). The complainers who think this class sucked didn't go to the class and only took it for the GenEd. Recommend you have a little prior knowledge & real interest. Don't just take it for the GenEd.
not a hard class if you put in some effort. Test information is all from his essays, not his slides. Just make sure you study the pictures on his slides. Only 1 midterm, 1 final, and 1 paper, so if you mess up, thats bad. but as long as you have the info from his essays down, you dont even need to go to class. but he's pretty interesting anyway
Funny guy. Easy class if you do the online readings. Final is worth 50% of your grade but if you study it's not bad. He goes off topic a lot and lectures aren't really necessary. About 90% of test questions are from online readings. Easy A.
Tuck was one of the best professors Ive ever had since being at UMass. His enthusiasm and hilarious tangents make what could be an extremely boring topic super interesting! Class isnt mandatory nor does he care if you show up but I genuinely enjoyed going and looked forward to it every week
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I don't know why all the ratings are all high. A lot of reading. Only 2 midterms & a final but there's a lot of information you have to remember. Class isn't mandatory but you should go and listen to every single word if you want to do well in exams. It's also unclear on what's important or not. Grading depends on your TA's.
Going to class helps, but he posts his lectures online. only 3 tests make up your grade, but going to class is hilarious. great sense of humor and makes everything very entertaining. loved this class!
Such a nice guy, not a good teacher. His lectures are so confusing and he goes on hour long tangents about nothing. Theres only 3 exams so bomb those and you're screwed. Everyone loves him cause he's funny but I studied sooo hard and still barely passed.
He's a nice guy and is pretty funny, but this class is confusing. I'll admit I only took this as a GenEd, but I also put in a lot of work for school. I go to every class, I pay attention, and do the readings. The tests are still impossible. His slides and notes don't help. If you miss one little thing he says about a picture than your screwed.
Anthony Tuck is the man. He keeps lectures interesting by adding his own anecdotes and funny commentary. Although when it comes to taking notes it's hard to figure out what is relevant and significant to the tests and what isn't necessary.
Prof Tuck is hilarious and will make you want to go to the lectures, even though he doesn't care if you skip them. You definitely need to go to them though, because there's a lot of info you won't get from the online power points and readings. He tends to ramble so it's hard to tell what's important but generally if you pay attention you'll be fine
Impossible to do well unless you write down every single word he says and remember everything. This proves to be also very difficult due to the fact he rambles about nothing for the length of every lecture. Also 10 required readings each between 20-60 pages about an ancient artifact. DO not take this for a gen-ed. Very difficult.
Easy on the eyes, hard on the GPA. Hilarious and evidently very intelligent, but sometimes forgets to stress what is important regarding what he actually wants memorized for the exams. 3 exams and no other work means you HAVE to do well on them to pass. Hard genEd. If you write down every word, attend EVERY class, and study hard, you're fine
Offers great extra credit options for exams. Exams are not too bad if you do the readings. Most entertaining lectures I've been in
Attendance was not required, but if you showed up and paid attention, that is all you had to do to get an A in the class.
I took four classes taught by Tony Tuck over the course of three semesters. The man is a legend. He is u ilarious, inspirational, and motivating. He was extremely welcoming when I would visit his office hours and never failed to give excellent feedback on my work. Tony Tuck is a God.
Goes off on seemingly unrelated rants and doesn't clarify or connect his rambling to course material, he takes himself VERY seriously and passes off everything but lecturing off to the TA's.
Clearly a nice guy, and he's funny, but don't take this class for an easy gened. You must attend all lectures/take perfect notes to do well, which is hard because he rambles and it's difficult to know what information is important/necessary. Only three exams (the final was 50%) so if you don't do well you're screwed. I barely passed.
AMAZING person. Great professor. Really good guy. Hilarious. The class and exams were tough, but if you go to class and study, you'll do fine. Really awesome dude.
Highly recommended class even if you don't like/don't know anything about Greek mythology. This was the one class I looked forward to going to every week this semester. Tests are super easy if you pay attention in class and take notes/read the slides (which he puts up). Multi-choice and short answer which he gives you ahead of time. Easy A. No text
Great teacher. He goes on really funny rants in his lectures and he makes learning this topic interesting and fun. I signed up for a gen-ed next semester almost solely because he was teaching it (and I desperately needed one anyways).
He is hilarious and is not afraid of uncomfortable topics. Such a great guy in general and is friendly outside of class. If you like great myth this is the class for you or if you like great stories this is the class for you. I look forward to going to class. As long as you pay attention you will do great on the tests.
Professor Tuck is hilarious and never boring. Attending the lectures and reading his essays are essential to passing. Take close notes in class. Some of the concepts are difficult to grasp and require outside the box thinking.
Professor Tuck is a very easy lecturer. While his slides are just the bones of the lecture, the stuff that you really have to know is said orally. You have to listen, but if you skip class you won't be banging your head against a wall out of regret. He doesn't care if you show up or not, and besides, he gets off track easily so you wont miss much.
Tuck was amazing. I took this class as a gen ed, and don't regret it a bit. His lectures always kept me engaged. Only 3 tests means you need to know the material, but just study hard, and listen to everything he says. It's nice that at such a PC university, Tuck isn't afraid to say something provocative to create dialogue amongst the students.
Tuck is a hilarious professor. Go to class if you want to laugh. If not, skip class and spend the time reading his short texts that he wrote which he posts on moodle. All of the test material is directly from these texts. A month in a half into the semester I completely stopped going to class and just read the texts. Still an easy A.
One of the best professors i've ever had. You won't pass if you don't go to class. Kind of tough because there are only three exams, but he's a really great professor and person. Would definitely take again.
Here's to the funniest professor that there is. I've taken Prof. Tuck twice now and I purposely found another class of his for the upcoming semester. He is a great guy and will answer any questions you have IF YOU SEEK HELP. He's really funny and gets sidetracked, but tests you on what he's taught. One of my favorite professors and people at UMass.
Tuck is awesome. His stories are always hilarious and insightful and also his book is lit. He makes Greek myths #relatable.
Absolutely one of the best classes I've taken so far. Great professor, easy tests, awesome class.
Although he is funny at times, his lectures are impossible to follow. He talks too quickly, sometimes you can barley understand a word he says. Material for tests is what he says in class, his slides have merely a picture and one or two words. Only passed by googling everything myself. Do not take this class.
I can't see why anyone would give him a bad review. He is so simple. Three tests first two worth 25% of your grade each and the final is worth 50%. Go to class and don't be lazy and it's an easy A. He gives you the exact questions that will be on the test. Don't request multiple choice.
I am so relieved to be done with this class. The only thing that counts in this class are tests. Lectures aren't mandatory but Tuck is pretty funny. That being said this class is sooo boring and stressful with only tests. I recomend taking a different gen ed because I hated this grading style.
I found lectures interesting, he defiantly knows a ton about the subject so I felt I learned a lot, and his stories were funny too. He is a great guy. I don't know how anyone could not do well in this class. He gives the exact questions to the exam the class before!
Knows a TON about greek myth. Swears a good amount, so it can make class funny. No homework except 3 tests. That is your grade. His lecture slides are posted but not that useful. MOST USEFUL: his additional readings/notes AND taking notes in class. He talks very fast but he SAYS exactly what you need to know in his lectures, so listen.
You don't have to go to class but the subject matter makes you want too. Tuck is also not restrained by cultural norms (like not swearing or openly criticizing the administration.) There were two group projects that were very low stress and a single paper that he will literally help you find a topic, thesis, and research for.
I'll genuinely be sad the day I run out classes to take with him, he's really an amazing guy. It's not the end of the world if you miss a lecture or two, but if you miss a lot you'll fall behind. 393 had two group projects and a individual presentation on your final paper. ALSO brings in exotic cheeses and crackers for everyone almost every class!
Great prof, interesting/mind-blowing lectures. Clearly knows his stuff.
If you miss a lecture, especially one towards an exam, you will miss out. He goes fast so i would suggest typing out your notes. He does give the open answer questions during class, but he does it 2 days before the exam so you have to cram. Grading seemed tough at first, but they just wanted the specifics. Got the hang of it by the second exam.
One of the best classes I've taken. It's worth going to class because the way he explains the material makes it so much more interesting and he is hilarious. If you miss a class it might be hard to get the information from just the slideshow. Tests aren't too bad but they're the entire grade so definitely study for those.
As a person, he's amazing (and hilarious)! As a professor, he might just be the worst. There are three grades for the ENTIRE year and they are three exams, one of those being the final. You show up to class, listen to his lectures that don't make ANY sense, and then you're graded by TA's who give no feedback. Horrible class for a gened.
Entire grade is based on 2 exams and the final. The problem is that some TAs grade stupidly harsh so you just have to get lucky. Everything on the exams are in the readings posted on moodle so you don't need to go to lecture. He posts the essay questions a week before the exam on the sides. He has funny stories but grading sucks.
He is an awesome Professor who keeps the class entertained and shares his findings, even if they are not yet published to hs classes, he allows for feedback and is always open for theories on certain topics.
He is an awesome Professor he allows for feedback and is always open for theories on certain topics. While not mandatory, his classes contain much needed oral information which is key when taking a test. For me this was not a gen ed.
This class was on Celtic Archaeology and you were graded on a powerpoint presentation, participation, and a final paper. While technically attendance was not mandatory, you would miss a lot of information and your participation would go down. Unlike his large lectures, this clas shad no more than 25 people and all projects and papers, he graded.
worst prof. I have ever had. He talks so fast and doesn't put enough information to understand the topic on his powerpoints so you sit through class trying to understand and register what he is trying to talk about. Only grades on 3 tests. Never take this class
Easy and fun class! Tuck is hilarious and clearly passionate about what he does. If you can't sit through two lectures a week with a medium amount of engagement then maybe you shouldn't take his class, but if you care a little bit the tests are a cakewalk and you'll have fun just listening to his bizarre sense of humor.
Professor Tuck is a really funny and nice guy. His lectures are always super interesting. The exams are very easy because he gives you the essay questions in advance. Although the exams are easy, they are still worth your entire grade (nothing else is graded).
Best professor I've had so far. His lectures are actually entertaining and you can tell he loves what he does. The class is graded on only 3 exams, but the essay questions are given beforehand.
So interesting!!! The lectures are funny, fast paced, and fascinating. This class counts towards my major but my friend took it as a gen ed and we both got As on all the tests. There are three tests and he prepares you so all you have to do is rewrite your essays. Take this class.
Anthony Tuck is a fabulous professor, a perfect balance of humour, intelligence and charisma. He made the class so entertaining with his relavent side stories. A must take professor.
Professor Tuck is one of the best i've had at UMass. It's only been a week of this semester but I already miss him and his lectures like crazy. Take the class with him!! Listen to his amazing hilarious interesting lectures and prepare for the exams with the questions he releases ahead of time to get an easy A. Fantastic professor.
Tuck was a very engaging professor to be in class with. His sense of humor is top-tier. He is very laid back, doesn't care if you show up to lecture or listen to the pre-recorded stuff, even if he recommends it. We were graded on 3 tests. Listening to the lectures helps a lot, but you could squeeze by without them. Great guy, great humor, fun class
This professor knows his Greek mythology and is excited to share, contemplate alternative versions, and learn more himself. He makes Greek mythology more relatable by using more up to date examples throughout our culture and in the movies.
Can't say anything that hasn't already been said. He is very funny and engages with his students while often catching them off guard with unique questions. He is able to relate the material to those who are no where near the time place it has been set in.
I have no idea how anyone could rate under a 3. Tuck is probably the best lecturer Ive seen at UMass because hes amazing at connecting dated topics to the modern-day. Grading scheme is preference Youre only graded on three exams (havent done final yet, midterms each have easy MC with three essays for which you get the questions a week in advance)
Tuck is a fantastic professor, he does make class fun and makes a lot of jokes. Class is just lectures, his slides don't contain any information so all your notes are from his speaking. If you miss a class you miss it and won't get anything from the moodle page. The tests are easy if you pay attention in lecture. Three tests are all you have, no hw
Probably my favorite professor that I've had at Umass. Hilarious and makes going to lecture fun, which is great because there are no assignments except the three exams, and if you go to class, the exams should be easy. He gives you the exam essay questions a week in advance and they're on topics discussed in depth during lecture.
I absolutely adore Professor Tuck. He is hilarious, kind, and a very good lecturer. You surely will not be bored while sitting in on his lectures given how engaging he is. The "tests" were just essay questions graded by TA's, so they were relatively easy.
Anthony Tuck is actually an amazing professor and person. The hardest part about this class is waking up early to get there. Tuck is super good about posting slides for your review and exams are very reasonable. If you need to fulfill your literature requirement, take this class, and make sure its with Anthony Tuck.
Professor Tuck is a legitimately hilarious guy and excellent lecturer. He is clearly very passionate about the topics he teaches and provides insight that you won't be able to find elsewhere. I cannot recommend him enough.
A hilarious and passionate guy who makes learning greek mythology, an already interesting topic, even more engaging and enriching. We were graded on 3 exams, but they're super easy if you attend the lectures and keep up with content. Also, he announces the open response questions a week before exams. Just a wonderful experience overall.
I really like professor tuck as a person but his class was difficult for me. I am not one who does well on just tests so that was difficult to have as my only grade.Definitely take his class if you are good at understanding mythology, but if you are taking it for a credit and not passionate about the subject, another class might be a good option
He's super engaging and relatable, so I actually wanted to attend lectures. He posts slides, but there's barely any words on them, so you need to come to lecture to understand what's happening. Super easy class if you pay attention. Don't take this class if you don't do well on tests, they're the only thing you're graded on.
Tuck is a nice and funny guy, but the whole class is graded based on 3 tests. Attendance isn't mandatory but you will likely fail if you do not go. He makes the class interesting but it is still a lot of information, and it is worse if you don't like greek mythology.
Professor Tuck has canceled class no less than 8 times this semester and put the lectures online for viewing. I dropped out of school 3 years ago to avoid online classes and now this has devolved into one. His lectures arent uninteresting but there are only three exams for the entire class and those are the only grades. so much reading.
At first I loved this class. By the end of the semester I felt completely blindsided. We are graded off of 3 exams, the first two were online and easy. The syllabus gives no information about anything. I only found out the week before finals that our final was in person, and consisted of 9-15 paragraphs of writing with no notes. Bad communication.
Nice guy, but did not do well with communication. The syllabus was unclear and there were no set dates for the two midterm exams. You are only graded off these two midterm exams, which are online, and the final, which is in person. This can be overwhelming for someone who does not do well with test taking.
The class's structure was awful and discombobulated, and it didn't help that he missed class 30% of the time. Info on upcoming tests was given sporadically. You need to attend lectures, every little detail will probably end up on the test. He gave the essay prompts for the final beforehand, but you're on your own for the midterms.
I'm gonna tell it like it is: I am not a Classics/History major, and after the first lecture, I proceeded to skip them for the entire semester (not attendance mandatory). Two ONLINE midterms and an in-person final. I spent, if I'm being generous, 10 hours total on this course and got an A. You want an easy class? This is as easy as it gets.
Very funny guy. While attendance is not required you have to attend to get all the information because the slides barely contain any. Lectures are interesting enough to make you want to go but he does go though the slides fast so I had to switch to typing out my notes. Only downside is you're only graded on 3 tests and he cancels classes a lot.
Amazing lectures, exactly what I needed in the morning. He's easily the funniest prof. I've ever had. The class is graded on only three tests, two online and one in person final. If you don't attend lecture, you likely will not do well on the final. Take notes and you'll probably have a very easy time.
Professor Tuck is an engaging and hilarious lecturer who makes learning Greek mythology a joy. With just 3 exams and advance notice on essay questions, the class is very manageable if you attend lectures and use resources like Unstuck AI.
great professor, super funny and caring, he will sometimes bring his dog in on Friday lectures. Attend class, take notes and study flashcards and you'll be fine
Professor lacks the ability to concisely elaborate on key ideas and concepts throughout lectures. Classes are just him muttering and cursing. Tries too hard to be "cool" and liked amongst certain students over the content of the class. Dismissive to anyone asking for clarification. Not a learning environment. Lecture, exam, and reading heavy.
Hard to follow lectures. Does not provide enough information about assignments or exams. You will not know your grade while taking this class. Very unclear
Easy to pass this class if you attend the lectures (not required, but you need to go). He tries a little too hard to be relatable. Not much reading. Take awhile to grade which sucks but just follow lectures to get good grades. Pay attention/take notes. Two exams, a final, and one writing assignment make up your grade. Easy GenEd if you go to class.
Not required, but must attend lectures to pass. Takes a while to grade - two exams, one final, and one writing assignment. Tries a little too hard to be cool, but overall, funny and good lectures. Given advance notice on essay questions and other test info in lecture but not online. Easy GenEd if you go to class/ pay attention/ take notes.
