Since this was an intro course, and a lab he was pretty easy.He didn't make things too difficult and the tests were easy.I've heard different for upper level lecture courses saying he couldn't teach and he was hard.My experience with him was pretty good.

He is a very strict professor; if you want to get an A you have to work hard. Never be late or let your phone ring in class because he would disrespect you. Once he almost made a girl cry, he dragged her with her chair outside the classroom because her phone rang, I felt sorry for her.
Dont be late, dont be absent, dont let your phone ring. He is mean and repetative. Does not announce his tests. Does not really teach - to pass you must read the text on your own. Lab was different. He was fun and laid back but still unclear. If you have proof for your absences (hospitalization) he wont care. He is disrespectful and uncompromising.
I had him for both CHM1025 & CHM1045 both with the labs. He is awesome! He is very strict, but if you pay attention and take good notes you will pass. He is extremely intimidating at first, but he's nice. He does not play games. No tardies, no absences, and NO CELL PHONES. In the lab he is the best! You will learn a lot, he knows his chemistry.
If you go to class religiously, visit him religiously as well, do all the suggested work and really show him that you have interest you will pass with an A or B. At the end he really cares for the students, he is great.
This man is a great teacher and someone who always has your attention in class. His lab sessions are enjoyable and his tests are not hard. His lecture is easy as well all you have to do is complete your homework and the test is based on that.

He is an excellent professor. He always has office hours if you have any questions and is always respectful. He teaches quickly so pay attention.
I had him for Chm1033 lab and he was pretty good. Tests were easy, experiments were easy but you couldn't be late or not pay attention. He is a good professor.
Okay teacher, spends more time summarizing the text book rather than teaching. Really dislikes the author of the textbook -- when he disagrees with the textbook, will probably include that as a text question

HATES CELLPHONE..turn your off. Helpful when you ask for help. Dry sense of humor but overall test pretty much problems her gives you for homwoerk. No surprises!
Dr. Vinciguerra is strict in class regarding cell phones,coming late, but he is a an excellent professor. He gives you home-work and gives you extra points when you go to board to solve the problems. I highly recommend him as the best CHM professor.

He is a great professor, instilled a love for chemistry in me. My first book will be dedicated to him. Turn your cell phone off before going to his office or class, he will kick you out if it rings. Take his class, you WILL NOT regret it.
i took him for chm1025 and chm1025L. his class is really EASY but basically you have to teach yourself because his lectures are useless and all he does is repeat his jokes. do his HW and youll get an A on all your tests. Make sure you eat breakfast and turn off your cellphone. You also get points for going up to the board. =)
Dr. Vinciguerrea is a wonderful chemistry professor. I loved his class and I learned a lot. From 10 to 20, he is a 50! You have to study, but guess what? It is a science class! Amazing professor!A+++

NOT EASY. ONLY see's you during "his" office hours. does not let you see your tests, to see them you must go to his office to review it. Oh and BTW FINAL is cummulative.***reminder*** he does not let you see your test and gives you your scores on a post it notes one by one in the class. & final commulative, = final HARD
he seems easy but hes not. he has a real attitude problem. i had straight A's until i had him. not helpful. test is accumalitive, its hard. he has no mercy on grades, i did good through out whole class and final dropped me to a C. dont recomend him,he messed up my gpa, and im not a lazy student that does not study i actually tried.
He is not easy, but pay very close attention to what he talks bout inhis class, because they will appear in the exam! Take good notes and READ THE BOOK before class and do all the required HW because that is the key to acing his class. If you see him for your test he will help you with clarifying your mistakes. U HAVE TO STUDY but it u can ACE IT

Be Prepared to utilize the study lab and tutors. I spent more time with the tutors than in class. He can be very nice if you go to his office, but his class was a "three ring circus." He spend more time fighting with students than he did lecturing. I could have passes without attending class. If you can, choose another professor.
Whatever you do, do not take this professor! he does not teach and he always complains and talks about other topics not having anything to do with chemistry. He's nice and sometimes funny but if you really want to learn and be prepared for chm1045 do not take him.
Check it out. He is old but he is as archaic as North Campus looks (he fits in just fine in the 1960s CHEM lab). In fact, he may have been when the campus was built. HE cares about not only the school itself but the students. I didnt get it at first but YOU HAVE TO HELP YOURSELF, he is not going to spoon feed you. I got an A. TRY and show respect.
Well to begin with this class is easy if u just read the chapter!! the h.w is exactly what will be on the test so you just have to put some effort and study!And he doesn't crowd you with work or h.w!! In class you do go over the h.w so thats helpful.

Do not take him. He does not knows how to teach. You will have a test almost every other week. And, the final is 16 chs. And he does not knows how to explain anything.Trust me.

You Have been warned Guys!!! If you are going to take him for the course,you won't be even close to The A. I studied hard for this course, had done a great job for 18 tests, and also for final, but somehow, i was not one of his favorit, so i got the best as B from this class. That's why i am here, and warning you guys.
He has his sense of 'Humor", so dont get offended. Come prepare reading the lab manual and study the experiement results, the rest he will help you. Easy test if you study. Dr Vinciguerra is generous, understanding, simple and warm at heart. If You fail his class, you fail yourself. Good Luck.

As a human being, Professor Vinciguerra is decent. He is not crazy, contrary to popular belief, but you won't know it unless you spend time with him outside of class. His tests are HARD, do NOT miss his class, come late, or let your phone ring/vibrate in his presence. This class is NOT EASY and unless you're willing to give 110%, you will fail.
do yourself a favor and do not take this professor! He is absolutely horrible.
he is not all that bad yes he may get off topic a bit but he is a good professor and willing to help his students. if you are expecting to be spoon fed your A this is not the class for you but if you are willing to put a little effort and do your homeowork you will pass he knows what he is teaching and wants you to learn and understand the material

He is a really helpful pro if you fail a test you could go to his office and he'll help you buy trying to give you extra points on his test. As long as you do the homework he gives you and study you should be able to pass this class with flying colors.
Vinciguerra is my best professor so far! He gives multiple choice tests, and if you passed CHM1025, this class will be a breeze. If you get a low score, you can go to his office and he might increase it, if you just circled the wrong answer for example. I have a 100 without much effort. Those who fail this class have only themselves to blame.

I took this professor because a friend took him in the summer & said he was easy. I took him for the fall & it was the opposite. He didn?t give any study guides so we didn?t know what was on the test (She said that he gave out study guides & homework that he grades) we didnt get homework except online which he didnt grade.Awful experience

Not a professor for the lazy, you actually have to work hard and study to pass this class. If you want a study guide for the tests, take notes he gives them everyday. Read the chapter and do the homework, that is what is on the tests. The tests are 18 questions multiple choice and he drops the lowest grade how much easier do you want it to be.
this prof. was the worst I ever encountered. I passed with a B because I studied the textbook day and night! His class is worthless, and his teaching style nonexistant. He is rude, condescending and disrespectful. He acts like he is teaching kinder. Over half of the class time is spent complaining about the world and everyone in it. RUN!

IF you sneeze in this professor's class during a test he will think that you are cheating.HE will literally make you stop taking the test. Prof Vinciguerra is a good teacher , at the beginning of the class I was afraid because he has a rude character , but I did always my homework and I was fine on the test, I finish the class with a B. I recommended him for those of view who wants to study and who go to the class to study no for play or laugh the entire semester and get an easy A.
THE worst professor in MDC period! This guy is crazy when he tries to give lectures he is easily distracted and not by students either he wanders off into different topics and oh he is nice at the beginning and as soon as the withdraw date passes he is nasty and disrespectful.

Here are the facts. It is possible to get an A. I got one. I busted my butt though. I have heard that he is helpful when you see him in his office. He does not explain AT ALL. Gibberish, ramblings, off topic all the time. Rude, condescending, etc. I had to read and read and use youtube professors to learn. Tests not as hard as could be.
Old Italian professor, he is pretty cool, but you HAVE to get on his good side. It's a must to be polite in the class, if you cross him he will use you as an example. I don't recommend taking the 6 weeks course, workload is very heavy, although his test aren't that hard, you need to know your thing. Doesn't give extra credit, doesn't bump grades.

i have this guy for chem lab and he is a nightmare. very disrespectful to students, will embarass you or degrade you in front of entire class. The class itself is not very difficult but the constant negativity is too much to handle sometimes. If you have any self respect then this class is not for you!

This professor is awful. I have him for lab and his labs are harder then the lecture. I bet you're wondering how is that. He gives a test every week (w/labs thats due on the same day)and then he gets mad at you when you dont pass. Now I have to take the chm1025L OVER AGAIN.Just save yourself and dont take him.

The man is a genius. He has a PHD in physics and chemistry. He is very old school, and if you are easily offended you should probably not be in college anyway. He does not baby students, nor should he. What I learned and taught myself I will never ever forget. Make sure you use his office hours and free chem tutoring! READ THE BOOK!

This professor is awesome! He is very intimidating at first. He is very sarcastic and will make fun of you if you interrupt his class or do something stupid. He does teach, though some stuff are hard to understand but then again it's chemistry. He is very helpful, he allows a lot of extra credit, and he is always open for one-on-one so use it!
I was warned about him and thought I would be able to deal with the class. I was wrong and the fact is that he doesn't teach. He spends most of the class talking about things which won't help us understand Chemistry at all. I am half way through and although I read the book and bust my behind I am uncertain if I'll pass or fail.

Hey this guys a headache. where to start. OK, cranky, old, doesnt really like questions, elementary school kid rules, gossiper, quiz every class, 80% chance hes in bad mood, hates his job and the whole mdc faculty, hates kids nowadays. My best advice is to agree with everything, get on his good side, attend every class, and laugh at his jokes. A+

I just got my grade today. Im not lazy and studied at least 3 to 4hrs a day. Took the 6 weeks course for intro. Please stay away from him. He is out to hurt your GPA. He talks about irrelevant issue. You will need to teach you self I did. He makes his test tricky. Not the worst but close to it.
Useless instructor. He thinks he is funny but he humiliates you. He hates students and hates Miami Dade College overall. I tried as hard as I could on my own, but it's almost impossible to succeed without help. Had to get a tutor. Will never take a class with him again.
Great professor. Rough around the edges at first but if you're willing to put your time and effort in, he will help you. Go to his office and he will definitely help you. Show interest and so will he.

he will teach one time before every test. depending on the class he'll offer extra credit. you might as well read the book yourself and come to class on test days! the book will be your best friend and use the access code it will help you study for test. the stories he told were interesting that's what kept me up and coming to class!
for the LAB he's good. very helpful. and of course you need the lab book.
To get a an A or B in this class you ethier have to be really smart, really like science or spend more than 2 hours a day studying just for his class. Passing his class is not impossible but it takes alot of work. He goes off topic alot during class and always pops up with jokes that are sometimes not that funny. Think twice before choosing him.

CHM1025L. His labs are self explanatory. He is at times rude and slick in the mouth. Be nice to him and he'll take care of your grade.
Also, he tends to give half credit for question you don't get right if you show your work.A little tip: if you'rnot sure of a test question, put an answer on the scantron ad a different one on the paper itself.

DOES NOT TEACH AT ALL!!!! you pretty much have to read the textbook yourself. Many students have petitioned for him to get fired (yes, he's that bad). The only reason he hasnt been fired is because he has tenture. If you want to keep a good GPA dont take him at all.
This professor's lectures are a stream of disorganized thoughts and he makes introductory chemistry more complex than it's supposed to be. If you want an easy A, don't take him. His tests are unannounced. He is a really intelligent professor and I have complete respect for him. In his class you have to EARN an A. Work hard and you will succeed.
Prof. Vinciguerra is very smart and love his students to go to his office hours. I swallowed my book to have As in my tests. Be prepare to do similar or you will fail. I love Chemistry and enjoyed the class.

I shouldn't even be rating him. He's not actually a professor. This guy is nothing more than a bitter old man who enjoys pretending to teach chemistry and telling the students how much he knows more than the publishers of the book. Constantly makes rude jokes, tests are impromptu. More than 3/4 of the class failed. Don't do it!
WORST class that I ever taken. I consider myself a good student and this professor has made these past 12 weeks one of most miserable experiences. It takes him twenty minutes to figure out how to work the software for the book, another 20 to discuss his personal life and then maybe we will actually do something. PLEASE do not take this class!
He is the best chemistry professor at this college. He knows what he's talking about. The students who complain are just irresponsible and put forth minimal effort. Take Vinciguerra if you want to learn. The A is right there waiting for you. All you need to do is open the book, study, and do your homework. He loves his students. Vinciguerra ROCKS!
I got an A in this class because I sacrificed myself into paying a tutor. Not the pltl ones, but a private one. Paying 87$ a session. I could not afford failing this class. He is very rude and an anti-technology freak, I went to his office hours & broke down 2x. Very insensitive and does not care at all about your opinion or your effort.
This professor makes you want to quit school! He doesn't teach and makes you feel retarded. He offends his students by making fun of them and calling them names. He DOES NOT teach, only talks about himself the whole class. You have to learn by yourself but it's not enough. I hate this professor. DO NOT TAKE HIM! You'll regret it!
WORST TEACHER EVER. he has his favorite students and is hooked up on them. doesn't teach. treats us like dirt. doesn't mind to drop students 3weeks before final. he is the WORST! i can't understand why is he still a pr at MDC. he may have experience but he isn't a good teacher.
I loved it. This is a college class with a real college professor. He's challenging, don't take anything he says to the heart. If you're taking the lab, you're good as long as you follow instructions. For his tests, remember the color of reaction. For the final, study the introductions. Coat, goggles and appropriate shoes from day 1. GOOD LUCK.
You must be prepared for his quizzes and come with a book goggles and long pants closed toe shoes and on time. You must study for the Final which Im sure is why I didn't get an "A" I enjoyed labs he I a bit eccentric but go there prepared anddy your labs and work before class you will be fine

Prepare to be constantly belittled and sit in fear every time you enter this class. He doesn't teach often, but when he does, he's not too bad. Your grade will be determined solely by tests, and considering receiving an A on even one of them is extremely difficult, prepare to settle for a B if you're a hard worker. It's a very tough class.
First encounter with college. Almost died. Don't take this mommy as professor, you will understand if you do.
The class began with 40 people and by the end of the semester only 15 students remained. He is rude, hates religion,goes off in a tangent when explaining lectures, and if you aren't taking his lab well he already doesn't like you. This is no way an easy A not even an easy B. I learned from youtube and the textbook.
This is for LAB. He's amazing. if you show up and do the labs and summaries you should not fail. study the previous lab before class cause there's a 5 question quiz each class. and pass the final which is the quizzes combined that he will not return to you. and some additional questions. i got an A. He appears tough but he cares if you try.
I can't stress this enough, YOU WILL HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF AND READ THE BOOK, SO DON'T EXPECT HIM TO DO IT FOR YOU. Expect him to be extremely rude to you, he will constantly interrupt you. You can't do the same to him though. Do not plan any activities with the school because he will not let you take tests ahead of time or make them up. AVOID!
Worst professor I have even taken. He expects us to know all the material and will not teach! Very rude and makes fun of people. I did not learn a single thing in his class. He goes off topic all the time and would jump from one page to another. I had to read the book and watch videos on YouTube. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!
If you don't like to learn on your own, don't take this professor. The tests are easy though, if you do the homework. Which is not mandatory.
He doesn't explain the material and spends most of the class talking about unrelated stuff. I would ask questions in class but he would not let me and if he did, the explaining would be poor and unclear. Attendance is important and you MUST read the book in order to pass his class and study on your own. If you can take another professor, do so
He is very cranky and rude! I put my book on floor, then he just step on it while looking at me, he did it on purpose, my lunch (a tuna sandwich) was in between my book, and he ruined it. Now let's talk about lecture, his lectures r very boring, and leaves u very confused, and if i ask him something, he will say"read the book" DO NOT take him.
I am an honors college student and I believe that this man is a terrible professor. He honestly does not teach. I do not know why he is still teaching. This old man expects you to know, but does explain it appropriately. My advice is to not take him. Take him at your own risk.
Passionate about chemistry. People fail his class because they don't try. Not an easy class, you have to work for the A but he will give it to you if you deserve it. I learned so much and he is one of my favorite professors ever. Go to his office hours and show that you care. If you need to learn chem for your major, take him. GET TEXTBOOK
Lectures are boring and pointless, you're better off staying home most days. The best thing to do is participate. Go to his office hours, study the book, and do the problems on the board. Thats the only way survive in this class.
DO NOT ! DO NOT ! DO NOT take this class. He is VERY rude. Spends majority of the class talking about everything else but the lesson. And when he does teach on the lesson, he teaches extra stuff that will not be in on the test. He also thinks many things that are in the textbook are wrong. Immediately DROP if you have it.
I took his chm 1025 and his lab, and got an A. The secret is his office hours, after every test check with him. After the first couple tests you will get the hang of what he wants. However, you must read, and take EXTREMELY careful notes during class, and study the whole chaper.
I just started this class and starting from the first day I knew that I would never take any course he is teaching again. You have to teach yourself and basically read the book by yourself.
I am having trouble figuring out where do I stand in terms of grades and I were trying to do the grade calculation to know what is my overall grade in the course but I am not sure if I did it right. Can anyone help me please? Thank you!

Incredible lectures, individual homework very expected to knowledgeable papers by a work on approach. Id invest this department 100%. No cell phones, if even 1 partner.
