When I first came to this college I expected to have a class that boring and the point but this class was different, He allowed the freedom to do assignments freely but still kept a hand on the class enouph to keep us in line .

This is my favorite class by far this semester. We have great relateable class discussion . Professor Tomlin is a realist, down to earth and personable professor. I love how the class is very positive and it's never a dull moment. We usually have guest speakers for almost every class.

Professor Tomlin's class is not just about the book work, he allows for everyday experiences to be a part of the lecture. I wish all professors were able to have lectures that would allow for specific application of the material you are learning in the book.

Prof. Tomlin is a great Professor. He was well informed and prompt to respond any questions in person and email. I was delighted to have him because it got tough for me a few times but he was able alleviate many emotions thru his words of encouragement.

Do what you need to do & just like any other professor you'll pass. You shouldn't want someone that would just give you an A anyway. You'll have to earn your grade

Awesome professor ! Very personable and easy to get along with. Doesn't mind answering a lot of questions. I took the class in an accelerated semester, 2 days a week for 4 weeks so there was a lot of homework but professor Tomlin made sure everyone understood the assignments and were able to succeed. Definitely would recommend taking his classes.

Professor Tomlin was a super nice teacher! He was super straightforward and the assignments were really easy! He had a clear syllabus but it wasn't exactly followed. I took his class as a 6 week course so there was a lot of work, but all the work was extremely simple for me.

He's a decent guy. Remains aware that students do have struggles outside of the classroom and does his best to make sure that there aren't any barriers in your education.

Mr. Tomlin really takes time to make sure you understand each concept. He also grades assignments quickly and isn't super hard on the grading if you follow directions. Overall a great teacher!

Great teacher! Very respectable and caring. He is lenient in the beginning with grading but after that first week of assignments he lets you know he will take off any amount of points for that assignment that does not fully meet his expectations. Tough grader but very effective if you're motivated to get a good grade.

The more you reach out to him, the better understanding of the context you will have. He goes over everything thoroughly; when grading he jots down some comments so you are able to improve yourself and learn from your mistakes. Flexible with assignments and very understanding, BUT you have to do your work for him to give you a feedback.

Professor Tomlin is an outgoing individual , the more you talk to him the better you will understand. He is workable and will go over things more than once to make sure students understand. When grading he does leave comment for students to improve there skills . I would love to have him as my professor again.

Overall great intro to college experience. I enjoyed Professor Tomlin. He is very helpful and personable. The work load can be heavy at some point during the semester but you just have to manage your time and prioritize.

Prof. Tomlin is very funny, interacting with him makes the time go by faster. You will have a good amount of writing to be done on a weekly basis but if you have great grades, it will pay off in the last part of the class. The work in this class carries over into your other classes. Put in above average effort for an easy A.

Easy grader, seems that if you turn something in he is going to pass you. But if you have questions he doesn't respond. He also isn't good about posting updates.

He is a cool teacher but he doesn't show up some days but that's an easy A. But when in class he does go over a lot especially if you need help.

Dr. Tomlin is the actual best!! We had little to no work, and spent most of class just talking with peers. He's the easiest grader, you cna get and A+ if you just turn in work. He doesn't believe in unnecessary work, love him.

I had Dr. Tomlin for a writing class with UMGC and he was a solid professor. It took a while to get grades in, but otherwise he stuck to the rubric and seemed to grade appropriately. Coming from a few very distant online professors, having Dr. Tomlin was a refreshing experience!

Some things you need in life and some Professors are needed in Schools. Dr. Tomlin is very good at giving you the energy to keep going and that is special.

very easy grader, if you submit the work you'll get an A, you can tell he actually likes teaching + is HILARIOUS which makes class much easier to sit through, often canceled classes/held them online which was AMAZING since it's not a hard course, does require in group and partner work occasionally but no midterm or final!!

I had Professor Tomlin for WRTG 111 at UMGC. Really great, easy class, things were graded according to the rubric. Just wish I had more feedback for my final project. Overall really great class and I learned a lot.
