Tough class but he is very helpful if you stick with it. He's sweet too.
He is cute :)
Dr. Anton was very nice. Test comes from his notes as well as the book. He gives extra work to go along with your test so that helps your test grades out. I would have taken him for 2402 but he is not teaching it. Nice guy Loved his class
Not going to lie the class was not that easy. The teacher is very cute.He does have an accent but after a week or to you will understand. if you pay attention & ask questions you can pass the class. the first and the last test were the worst. he does give extra credit whiched helps. I really wish he was teaching 2402 so i could take him again.
He is very handsome and sweet!Very helpful, makes silly jokes and his accent is adorable!
He is a very cool professor. His tests are a bit tricky, and hard. I made a C, but I believe that I deserve a B. I worked so hard. Biology is not my favorite, but I worked my butt off. EXPECT a lot of work. He gives an extra credit which really helps. He has a sweet accent. By the way he also looks handsome.
I found his class to be very straight forward and fair. If you do all of the assignments, you get a good amount of extra credit. Once I got the hang of using the Learnsmart and the labs, the class ran like clockwork. The quizzes and test are challenging. I was happy based on the fact that everything was laid out for you and fairly organized.
I took this class online, and I spend most of my time on this class. If you're taking more than one other class, you'll have a tough time with this class. You definitely need the textbook. If you take this online, get ready for a group project. You can ask to be re-assigned if the people aren't participating.
I took a hybrid class last semester so I figured that this one wouldn't be that different since I made an A. However, Professor Anton does assign A LOT of homework, only giving you a week to complete it. On top of that, he adds on more assignments during the semester (not including the common assignment required by the school now).
Each week: reading assignment (usually just 1 chapter), chapter outline, 40-80 question chapter questionnaire assignment, chapter quiz, at least 1 lab. Every 3 or so chapters you have the unit exam. Tests are somewhat difficult. Average homework time per week: 3 hours. Also gives group assignment and was given 3 options for extra credit.
He assigns a lot of homework but if you do your best to get as close to 100% on assignments you will get a decent grade. His study guides are not very helpful on lecture exams but he will review them if you ask. I did poorly on exams but still managed to pass with a B. Read the book! Do all the extra credit! Nice guy and very sweet.
Dr. Solvoyov is the greatest teacher of all time. He breaks down a tough topic like Anatomy and Physiology into a simpler coursework any student can understand. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!!!! Also do all of your homework the class is weighted evenly from all of the home work, tests, and final so you aren't screwed if you bomb your first test.
Professor Anton is by far an AMAZING professor! I loved taking his class and would take him again, no doubt about that. Test can be difficult if you did not study but over all if you study, do ALL homework and complete ALL EXTRA CREDIT their is no doubt that you should pass this class with a B average. by far one of the best professor I've taken,
It was very clear that he cared about the students by his actions. He's passionate about what he teaches which helps further engage the students. I was blessed to take him and he comes highly recommended!!!
Fantastic professor. Provides clear understanding of each topic discussed. Will be taking him again for Anatomy and Physiology II.
Dr. Anton was very kind. His lecture classes are quite big but he gives you his phone # on the syllabus for when you had questions on h.w. which was So helpful because its so much faster than email. He has open lab in case you have more questions. The lecture tests are hard but he gives a lot extra credit which helps a lot in the long run!
Anatomy is hard no matter who you take but he is the best. He is the prof. with the most open lab hours. Students from other profs. choose to go to his reviews. A LOT of assignments but honestly those assignments help you not fail when you fail a test. Mandatory study guides give you no choice but to study. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT AND YOU CAN PASS
Get ready to work for your grade in this class. The home work helps. make sure you do it. ANP 2 is not an easy class. I struggle to make a B
do all the class work from the start and you should be okay.
He was okay. I felt like I didn't need to be in his lecture class because all he literally does is go over a PowerPoint. He's a smartalec as well which drives me crazy. He is there to help and accessible outside of class. Get ready to have A LOT of homework. This class will take up most of your time. Try to do everything way before due date.
Took A&P 1 as a five week mini, I'm writing this to give others who want to take this class as a mini as well a heads up, because this class is VERY VERY VERY time consuming! So I would suggest for it to be your only priority. And the amount of work is ridiculous so brace yourself! I managed to get a B- but I worked hard for it!
Professor Solovyov laid out the requirements from the beginning. Although there were problems with the online labs, Professor Solovyov was very understanding, and compassionate when there were problems. He was also quite accessible for answering questions, and answered email questions quickly. I would definitely take his class again.
sooooo much homework. had to drop out of a mini summer because the amount of work he expects was crazy! all he did was litterly read of a 130+ power point slides.. daily.. each day was a new chapter.. if you want to learn do not take this course, extremly fast paced with too much information.. the brain can only remember so much........
Dr. S offers lots of extra credit & is always available via email/text. This is a hard class no matter who you take but I feel that he is very thorough and does a great job in lecture. Record Lab demonstrations and review online videos that he shares so you can get as much info as possible. Will be taking him again for A&PII
This class is so time consuming! The amount of homework given is ridiculous, you wont have time for anything with this class.
Professor Anton isn't bad, he knows a lot& is specific when answering a question. The only downside is the amount of homework& how bad he is at grading, he takes FOREVER to grade. Besides that you can tell he's passionate about what he does and I'd recommend him .
Every chapter has 40 questions for homework, a quiz which is like 20 questions and also activities with questions up to 35. Must attend lab and take pictures for portfolio. Study, study, study and read. Not an easy class. Professor is very nice and you will learn with effort. Be ready for a lot of work and dedication. Tests are timed.
He makes the subject easy to understand by drawing. He will have some short activities to test your knowledge. He will help you every possible way if there is anything you did not understand. His teaching methods is great. You will really learn a lot from him. If you do everything that he tells you and listen to his advice, you will ace it.
Wonderful professor. His lecture Power Points are always available and he is always willing to work outside of class time with you. But if you want to pass, take notes! He will go over anything you don't understand again and again just don't be afraid to ask.
Make sure you do & understand everything that he asked you to do in a timely manner, that is the key to Ace this class. All the homework he gives helps to better understand each topic. Don't be shy to ask, he is always available to help and explain anything you do not understand. I took A&P-I & A&P-II with him & managed to survived both. Good Luck!
This is a great professor. He takes his time to explain everything, and is always available to answer questions and help you understand. Yes there is a lot of homework, but all of it is to prepare you for the test. He is a fair grader, he will not curve your grade, but he will give a lot of extra credit. I highly recommend him.
I took solovyov for both a&p1 and a&p2. On the first part of the class I ended with an 89 and on the second I got a 94. The material is not hard but the amount of homework he gives is A LOT. He is always willing to help his students outside of class. If you want to pass be ready to read read read and study a lot.
He does give a Lot of extra credit. Hes very sweet and Will always answer your questions in depth. He does assign alot of homework and his Study guides are fairly long but they do help in a way that it makes you look at the text book and make you read. When im telling yall to read READ that txtbook. theres always questions from the PP, on the test.
Very good professor. He goes in depth with the lectures and pushes you to your limit. Does leave lots of homework but he also offers lots of extra credit which is nice!
I took Professor Solovyov for AP 1 and 2, and it is a lot of reading and homework but you must understand this class is a lot of information, all of the work he gives is only to benefit your self and increase your grade as well. He offers a lot of extra credit and is very caring for his students. Do your part and youll do great in his class :)
Professor Anton is an AMAZING lecturer! He created us a group chat so we could easily communicate with him as well as each other. There was a lot of homework, but between his lectures, the book and his PowerPoints you have all the resources necessary to answer his questions. I recommend reading through his PowerPoints as a review prior to tests.
Anton Solovyov is one of the best professors I have had. Classes were interesting and to the point, and I knew what was expected of us every week. Because this class had a lot of homework and extra credit, it was possible to work towards a good grade even if you did poorly on some of the exams. He is responsive, organized, clear, and helpful.
The people giving this man poor ratings are the same idiots who expect to be handed their A's without putting in the effort. If you can actually take the time to read and do your assignments, you will do just fine. Dr. Soloyov is also responsive to questions asked, which isn't easy to find. He is great! I would take him again given the opportunity.
Dr. Anton is an awesome science professor who enjoys helping his students to succeed. His online audio lectures and videos were extremely helpful, very understandable. Although, there were a lot of assignments, including extra credit , the results were worth it. Overwhelming but doable. I am extremely content I pushed through and succeeded.
Dr S . is a hard but amazing professor. This is not a blow off class so don't expect it to be easy. If you are taking it for Healthcare pre-req, it sets a clear foundation for your upcoming classes. He makes sure you don't just memorize the material, but likes to make sure the students UNDERSTAND. He is always available to answer questions.
I took biol 1&2 online with Dr. Solovyov. The classes are difficult, but he is an amazing professor. He provides study resources helpful to all learning styles. If you listen to his lectures and do the study guides you will succeed in his class. Hes easy to contact when needed and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. 10/10 recommend.
Professor Anton was great. You have to do the work. If you do the work, you will pass. If you do the extra credit, you will do well. He assigns his own lecture study guides. If you do them, you will do well on the exam. If you choose not to do the work, you will not do well. A&P is a ton of information. No way around it.
I loved this professor! I took him for a&p 1&2. He gives great reviews for exams, explains concept in lecture really well (as long as you can understand a Russian accent), and very informative ppts with lectures! He uses concept maps to explain and it helps A LOT. Be sure to work though, this is not an easy course. Especially if you never took a&p
He is the worst Proff I have ever taken in my journey at San Jacinto. His exams are not from his reviews, and PowerPoints. They are randomly chosen ( general knowledge) . Plus extra credit for only those who win class kahoot. Class time is for quizzes, random useless jokes , and kahoot. I would never recommend him at any cost. Save your time.
Professor Anton gives lectures, powerpoints and study guides that are long and informative. There is 3 lectures, one final and 3 Lab.The lectures have 100 questions. The Lab test is open response. The study guides and lab portfolio are time consuming. He gives a lot of extra credit. Put a lot of effort and studying you will get the grade you deserve
He is not a good teacher for AMP classes. His tests are EXTREMELY HARD, no matter how much u study. Lots of homework, no extra credit .No matter how much u study, u will definitely fail his class because it is designed this way. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ANY COST. BETTER TO WAIT A SEMESTER THAN TAKE HIM.
Very interesting class, lab was my favorite. Cat dissection gave me an opportunity to interact with my classmates and professor. Pig lung demonstration!!!
If you need a fast science credit I recommend this course. The professor is very organized and easy to get in touch. The course is self-explanatory, you have weekly assignments are on Connect. Any 5 week course is not easy, there will be a lot of work, do it and you will pass.
Dr.Anton is an excellent professor and a cool guy. I would recommend him to anyone for any bio course. His lectures are easy to understand and fun to attend. Too bad he does not teach micro.
I learnt a lot, the best part of it were meeting new people in the group you created for student, Thank you very much sir for the GroupMe. It was helpful ,most especially with Wiley Drill/practice. And the group also open the door of communication and interaction, it makes online classes easier and interesting.
This is a hard class, no matter which instructor you take it with. Prof. Soloyvov was really helpful and is accessible outside of class. He even gave us his phone number for questions! His PPTs have audio recordings and text, very nice, like watching a movie with subtitles. Lab exams 60-80 questions fill in the blanks - memorize your terminology!
I highly suggest taking Dr.S. He explains things in a very easy to understand way. He has recorded lectures, if you missed something you can listen to it later. He always asks if we have questions and will stop his lecture to answer them. His study guides are long but very useful. He cares about your success and is very accessible outside of class.
Took his online bio. Course was organized and easy to stay on track. This class is a lot of work but the assignments are easy. I liked the class.
Professor Solovyov is a great instructor and cares about his students. He likes to make jokes, uses a lot of memes and makes the subject really interesting. If you follow all the instructions you will do well, the class is pretty straightforward. Do all the study guides and extra credits if you want to make an A.
This course is not easy and do not think it will be a breeze, This course requires you to be involved and manage your time wisely. Assignment due dates are very fair and reasonable but if you procrastinate till the last minute you will be overwhelmed. If you can take on these challenges at the end of the course you will feel like you learned a lot.
It is a tough course, but he is really helpful
I am definitely taking Dr.Anton for AP2. Everyone says AP1 is a tough course, and it is, but he makes it easy and fun. Lots of study guides to prepare you for exams. He has good lab videos too, in case you missed something. He is always available for questions outside of class. Extra credits on every topic and they are actually interesting!
He has a good structure in terms of handing out assignments & when theyre due other than that the lectures are all over the place, he doesnt really give clear instructions and when you ask questions he makes you feel stupid for not knowing instead of answering the question. Wish i could provide more details but im running out of characters.
Dr S is a good professor to take. Class is well structured and he was always available to help us, even gives out his phone number.
Took the A&P2 class online and professor Solovyov was very helpful and understanding. It was an online-anytime class, but he had optional zoom meetings for those of us who needed extra help. Take his class, you won't regret it.
Extremely helpful! Super knowledgeable, readily available even on weekends. Definitely recommend taking Dr. Solovyov
Professor Anton Solovyov is amazing! He teaches in a way that keeps you interested, knows a lot, and really cares about students. I highly recommend him!
Took his online 8- week Nutrition, the course was easy but it is a lot info to memorize in 8 weeks. There were weekly zoom calls and he gave us his phone number for texts, so it was easy to reach him for questions any time of day
Professor Solovyov made a&p 1 straightforward and simple. He provided study guides that basically covered a good chunk of what to expect on the lecture exams. If you take him you won't regret it although this does not mean you should disregard studying and preparation for his exams. If any info is mentioned in class/ppts. it can be in the tests!!!
Easy class. All homework is online through the online textbook. 1 discussion board, lots of homework per chapter, 5 exams (including final) via lockdown browser. Straight forward class. Took this class in a 3 week mini.
I loved taking A&P 1 with Prof. Anton. Yes, this course is tough, but as long as you study ahead of time you will fine. He also gives tons of extra credit opportunities that help your grade improve. His lectures are informative and he is also funny! I always looked forward going to class.
Pretty easy class if you do your work. Well structured, weekly announcements. Do not get behind in a summer 5 week class!
This A&P course is clear and easy to follow, but it moves quickly, which can be tough if you're new to the topic. The instructor knows his stuff and answers questions, but sometimes the explanations could be a bit more detailed.
Great 5 week course, learned fast. Clear lessons, easy to follow.
Professor Solovyov made anatomy and physiology fun with great lectures and hands-on activities. His love for the subject and friendly teaching made every class enjoyable!
He has such good ratings, but it wasn't for me. It was by far the hardest class I ever took, and I took AP 1 and passed it with a B.
this nutrition course was well organized and easy to follow
Do your work on time, and the extra credit can really help your grades. There's a lot of reading, but if you spread it out, it's not too hard. The teacher gives lots of extra credit chances and is easy to talk to. The class is fun, so I think you should take it!
Professor S was a very sweet professor, providing so much extra credit it helps so much of your grade if you do them all! The study guides were ok, sometimes not matching the test, but this is one of those classes were studying weeks prior is so so helpful. He tends to get off topic a few times but he's really accessible outside of class.
Lots of HW 60 questions max on study guides. 80 questions max on textbook assignment. Free up space on your phone for Powerpoint portfolio Lab assignment (extremely time consuming) gives extra credit. Lab slides look different on lab exam. Long powerpoint lecture slides ( click and play audio) Kahoots dont help much. lecture exams feel off topic
Clear explanations, easy to understand. Passionate, helpful, and engaging.
8-week online a&p class is no joke, but the material is well organized and easy to follow. A lot of homework!!! The professor gives his phone number and is easy to reach when you have questions. Groupme for student discussions
Taking online A&P2 is tough, I won't lie. Whenever I had questions, I reached out by txt, and the prof replied almost immediately Most of the weeks there is a lot of homework and have to be organized not to get behind. Lecture exams are easy. Lab exams are based on Wiley and are fill in the blank, but he checks the answers manually for correctness
A&P2 online. Very well-structured and informative online class. Study guides for every chapter. Powerpoints with audio recordings. Lab exams are the most difficult part of the course, they are mostly fill-in-the blank, you have to know anatomical structures. Prepare to study!
My first A&P class and WHEEEWWW it was a lot but im happy i passed. Just focus and you will be fine as a hard test taker this class was actually pretty okay. I learned a lot and made great friends. Every exam is 100 questions for lecture. This class is just hard if u dont know what your doing. He does have alot of work but it is okay not that bad.
The course itself is hard, but he tries to make it easy and fun! Gives a lot of opportunities for extra points. The lab exam is the hardest part bc it is fill in the blank. He cares abt his feedback to improve his class. Great prof u can tell he cares abt his students. He uses lockdown browser
Was very difficult class he didn't help much.
he is passionate about his subject and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities
Good teacher, he does zoom reviews
He is nice, funny, and cares about every student in his class and makes sure everyone gets a good grade, but you have to work for it. He one of the best teachers of the whole school and I definitely recommend him to everyone! Not an easy course though
Great instructor and easy class
lectures are long and reads over them. uses honor lock and does study guides that aren't on the test. lab exams are doing power points beforehand expect 70-80 questions. extra credit papers are amazing overall him teaching was 3/10 don't really inteact with students and get into depth of teaching the lab part.
I took his course for A&P 1 (A) and 2 (B). A really awesome teacher, he cares about his students and is willing to help if you put in the effort. These courses are a lot on their own so you have to put in the effort. TONS of extra credit opportunities. He does lecture a lot, but again the course demands it. There is homework, because its college.
