I understand his accent perfeclty, and he explain very well. He takes his time to make sure he answer every questions. His attitude is well deserved because some students really exagerate sometimes.I was bad in math, I had a A in his first test.

He is a great professor! A very, sweet, wonderful person. He always finds ways to help us if we don't seem to understand. He goes through the chapters slowly, so we can comprehend the lesson.He always has a positive attitude, and makes us feel great that we can succeed in life.I highly recommend him

Not a hard class to pass with an A or B, but you need to study. This is not an easy class, and he has a full agenda to cover in the time allowed. He uses every minute to teach. If you don't understand something, just tell him and he goes over it more thoroughly. Good teacher. Take him to learn.

Great professor... His lectures are very helpful and his tests are pretty ease if you put in the work. The only problem that most people (myself included) seem to have with him is that he is VERY fast passed, and his homework assignments are online.

good at explaining...allof the homework is done online, you only need the book to get the code out of it, i didnt really use it at all. yeah he goes fast but he explains well, just pay attention and you'll do fine. oh yeah and he hates cell phones in his class, he goes nuts if it goes off.

He explains until you get the material crysta clear. He makes the class interesting and is always available during his office hourse and after class to help you. You do have to study for his tests and do the online homework. IF you want an easy grade this class is not for you.. But then again what do you expect if you are going to take Calc!

Fantastic professor! He gives great notes, does examples, and everything is crystal clear. He is always willing to help you or asnwer any questions.For the summer term there were 4 tests and an optional final exam. All you have to do is study your online HW and notes. This is the fist time I get an A in Math! Take him!!!

Well, i have to say he's a really good teacher cuz he knows the materials real well. But if you're someone who just want to get an easy A then he might not be it for you. He's not that easy. I remember starting this class with about 30 people in the class, about 15 stick to the end. If you're good at math, he'll be good for you.

He explains things well, but fast. Hes always there on time and doesn't like to miss anything. Hes strict but fair. As long as you show up to class and do the homework, the test shouldn't be to hard. He keeps them at about 20 questions and the final is optional. The homework is all online which is lame but gives 15% of your grade n the rest is test

Very good professor. Not an easy A...you will have to study. He gave us a TAKE HOME TEST, 10 FREE POINTS on the last test, The homework is online and you can do it until you get it right. And his final is optional, and replaces your lowest grade!!! Take him and go to his office often...he will help you pass this class...I got an A!

Def. the best math professor i've ever had! Took him for MAT0020,MAT1033,&MGF1106. Knows how 2 teach & its very easy to understand him. Goes step by step & makes sure dat every1 understands. Will gladly go over things if u have any questions. Online homeworks help out A LOT. Tests r usually 20 ?s; not difficult, taken 4rm homeworks. Dont buy book.

this proffesor explain very good but he doesnt realize that his test are extremely hard and is by time, 15 superhard question in 1 hour.If you dont know math dont take him at all. you will FAIL THE CLASS.

I took this class online and I did not have any problem with him, and whoever complained about homework, that is how you study, practice and get prepared for your tests!!

I took him for mat1033 and mac 1105 because he was a good teacher. He answers all your questions and doesn't mind going over the material until you got it. Kind of a lot of hw for some sections but the tests are practically identical to the hw and you can use a calculator. i would take him again if he taught higher course.

He's an 'alright' teacher, he explains things clearly but be sure you pay attention if you aren't good in math... there's a lot of notes to take and lots of homework.

Great Professor. I took his virtual course which is composed of about 5 or 6 quizzes(if im not mistaken) and proctored midterm and final of 20 questions. He is helpful & you do have to read through the book to understand the material but it really is too easy.

hes a good teacher!! your homework is like 40% of your grade and you must do it!!you have 4 tests and a final too but its not mandatory!! he barley responds to emails and his voicemail is always full!!! but hes good

He is a great teacher. He answers all questions in class and repeats as much as you need it. Ask questions in class though not through email. His HW (online) is just like the tests and he lets you use a calculater. He is very helpful you just have to ask.

Prof. Alfonso is very professional, dedicated and helpful. I got a B but I am satisfied because my grade corresponds with the time and effort I put into ii(not a lot though). Always answered emails fast and clarified all questions accurately. Only 5 quizzes and 2 proctored exams through out the course. I strongly recommend him.

I took a blended course and I love doing hw online because it's faster and harder to fall asleep because you are motivated to keep going because your grade for the class is automatically updated with the progress of your hw on pearson. buy the code, and study his notes. Tests are most of the time even easier than the HW, but don't trust. STUDY! :)

Great professor! I took this class online and he was very responsive when I asked him a question. A lot of homework and a total of 7 quizzes. The final exam was at the Kendall campus (long drive for me) but it was exactly as the review tests. Great professor

Too take this class you have to honestly have to ask yourself, am i strong enough in math to take a virtual/blended class. if your not then you should consider taking a physical class where you show up. Other then that he is a good teacher that is helpful through email.

I absolutely do not have any interest in math.This teacher has made it easy to understand and a great experience! It was easy and that is not something I can say about math. I wish he can teach all my math classes.

He is a great professor for online courses! He responds to your emails quick and he helps you in whatever you need. He gives alot of homework but he also puts up practice tests which are exactly like the actual test. Final was multiple choice. If you need a good professor for understanding the material and passing the exit exam he is the one!

He's pretty clear and can teach. However his blended class is a lot of do it on your own. Unless your a math whiz stay away from the blended. I'd take him again in a normal format.

He's very good. Honestly, for a blended course, this class might be quite a challenge, but this prof is quite awesome. A lot of hw, he drops the five lowest grades. 13 quizzes, he drops the 3 lowest. And 6 tests, 3 face-to-face, 3 online. U even have the chance to take an optional final to drop the lowest grade from ur face-to-face exams. Take him!

Mr. Alfonso is one of the greatest teachers I've had at Miami Dade. He is a super genuine guy and really likes to work with you and teach. The class isn't for slackers.You have to work and know your stuff on test day. But nonetheless, you'll learn the material.I got an A in the class, but I worked for it.Don't be discouraged! Take it with him!

This professor is absolutely amazing. He is clear & organized and makes math easy to understand. All you have to do is take notes (which he send you on Angel) and attend every class. There are 4 tests, some quizzes, and hw for each lesson. The tests are made out of the problems from the hw and quizzes, do them all and I guarantee you'll get an A!

Professor Alfonso is AMAZING!! I took him for MAC1105 and MAC1147. I really recommended him! He is super helpful, very nice and he cares for his students. His exams have the same type of problems that are on the homework. Of course you have to study but if you study his notes you will be fine. I wish he was teaching calculus 1 next semester.

This class is mostly taken online (tests & homework) so he never lectures. He is a nice guy, he doesn't hold your attendance against you.

Pretty simple class, if you're taken the online class he does NOT teach. BUT if you have any questions he's 100% there for you. I suck at math and i passed the class.

World's greatest teacher!

Prof. Alfonso helps each of his students with the online program. You will have to access it nearly everyday and must do work on time or you'll fall behind. Never had a great math background and I passed due to the program and his help. Must Take MAT0028 and MAT1003 With Him!

I took Prof. Alfonso for the accelerated Math course for those majors that require more liberal and stats paved careers. This course was 8wks and even though it was a short amount of time for how much work given... HE TAUGHT AMAZING! HE CARES FOR HIS STUDENTS AND IS VERY PATIENT AND WILL GO OVER PROBLEMS IN CLASS MULTIPLE TIMES! AWESOME TEACHER!

I'm not bad at math, but I lack patience for it, which makes me a difficult student. Professor Alonso took my challenging energy in stride, and kept me engaged . When I really didn't understand a concept, he found several approaches to help me get it. For the first time in my life, with his instruction, I passed a math class with an A.

Proffesor is not bad. You just need to complete your hw on connect math and complete the tests for each chapter but other than that its a passable grade you can get with him.

I took him for Mat 1033 at MDC Kendall . We used ALEKS. If you do the Homework and Practice Quiz, you will get an A in his class! He grabs about 15 questions from the 40 questions Practice quiz for each test ( 4 Tests + optional Final to drop lowest grade). He doesn't lecture, it's mostly web based, show up to class to work on the computer.

Professor Alfonso is great, this class was mainly online but we had to show up in class to participate. He doesn't lecture, and expects you to learn from the ALEKS system. But he is eager to answer ANY question and he really makes sure to help you progress and learn. He wants every to pass and will make sure you get everything done. Great person!

I just finished MGF 1107 with this professor and he was amazing. Honestly there were 4 tests and 1 optional final exam. There are also easy quizzes ONLINE. The professor gives you some easy homework to do online and that really will help you pass the class. STUDY FROM THE HOMEWORK!! Great teacher and great person.. Would definitely take again!

Online course with lots of homework, 6 quizzes midterm and final

Best math teacher Ive ever had hands down. Most math teachers Ive come across with are very boring and unapproachable. This guy is the complete opposite. His lectures are very clear and precise while being fun at the same time. Hes also extremely organized and really shows that he wants his students to learn.

Great lecturer. He makes the class very interesting. He gives you amazing notes for the hw that are posted online. Quizzes and one test are online so thats very easy. He sometimes can't cover all the material and it will spill over to other classes. Only negative is that its almost impossible to reach him outside of class.

im took this professor in a mini term and i thought he was amazing. This is the second time im taking MGF1107 and he definitely made the material so easy to learn and did a great job explaining everything. Hes very kind & takes the time to explain things in detail! The hw, quizzes & tests arent hard as long as you study. I definitely recommend!

Professor Alfonso is GREAT. I normally have a hard time in math classes, however with him this class has been super easy. He is great explaining, and will go all the way to help... show up, practice with hw, and you will 100% pass. Textbook is not mandatory, you will only need to purchase the acces code, and thats it. AMAZING PROFESSOR 100%.

There are 4 tests , 10 online quizzes counted (13 to take but he drop 3 of the lowest ones) , a optional final and a hw assignment per topic/lesson , for the blended class due dates for quizzes and hw are strict , for quizzes you only have 24hrs to open it and complete it , but he knows what he is doing and he is good

I took the blended class where I'm supposed to teach myself half of the content but he still made the effort to explain every chapter the most he could. He drops the 3 lowest quizzes and replaces the lowest test grade with the final. Explanations are very clear tests are straight forward. One of the best math professors I've taken

I believe his class was one of the easiest ones I had this fall semester. My class was blended but he tried to explain all the sections the best he could. Do not, I repeat, do not buy the book! You will not need it for his class. Just get the access code to do your hw. There were 4 exams total (no midterm, no final) and the third exam was online.

Took him for MGF 1106 and 1107; Lots of MyMathLab HW but helps your grade and to study. 5 easy online quizzes. 4 tests in class. He drops lowest grade for each and has an optional final. Attendance IS mandatory. He's an average guy but I had REALLY hard time contacting him outside of class. Never answered my emails so I took it as he didn't care.

AMAZING PROFESSOR!! Do not listen to the bad reviews about him. The hw he gives on Connect Math is a lot but def doable. 4 tests plus a proctored final and midterm. I guarantee you will pass this class with an A bc the review he provides are exactly what's on each test and final+midterm. BEST PROF EVER no cap

His an amazing professor because on his lectures he will explain everything in detail. You will use ConnectMath to do your 47 homework's which some have 8-25 questions. The 47 hw is for the whole semester and you will receive per week about 5 or 3 hw. Every two weeks there' a test, but he will give you Review Quizzes that are similar to the test.

Honestly, the class is not too hard if you have some math base. Useful slides and examples. A bit of homework but super helpful. You can fix errors and score 100% easy. He always answered my email. Do the practice test,& you'll know what will be in the quizzes. Only nuisance, not all material is open at start, I could finish this class in 4 weeks!!

My class was MDC live and he was an amazing professor. His explanations were very thorough and he was very willing to help with any questions the students had.

I took him for last semester (Spring), and he was a pretty decent professor and straightforward with the material. However, I will say this: make sure you really study for the exams though as they're worth 80% of your overall grade! Homework wasn't too bad and he records his lectures, so you'll have something to refer to if you ever need any help.

Honestly, I wish I could take him again next semester. For his online course, he uses one website for absolutely everything, and because it is open source you dont need to buy a textbook (its up to you). He teaches very well and is very knowledgable. A quiz every two weeks for this class but they're unproctored. I highly recommend.

Professor Alfonso is a super caring professor. My class was tough for him because he had to teach in only 50 minutes but he did amazingly good. I learned all the concepts very well with him. The homework were all the concepts reviewed in class and there were around 5 test in the semester. If you really want to learn math, take him 100%.

He is the best math professor at MDC. He is very passionate about what he teaches. The problems he presents in class and the detailed explanations he gives give you a true sense of what you need to learn. There is a lot of homework, but the homework problems show up on the test, so they are incredibly worthwhile.

I took this professor as a pre-requisite for another course and I'd just like to say, this has been one of the best MDC classes I've taken at the time I've been here. He doesn't overload with homework and he's easy to email as well. All of his assignments have a video attached incase you don't understand the lecture. 10/10 would recommend.

He is a fantastic lecturer and person, and I can't recommend him more! He knows how to teach the subject well, and makes it easy to follow along in class. His grading is clear, and as long as you complete the homework you'll be prepared for his exams. He's always willing to answer any questions, and review any exam after emailing him.

I loved his lectures! Math is not easy for me, but he simplifies problems and solves problems step by step. He is willing to go over exams with you and is easy to communicate with. I had him online and all exams were not proctored. His online homework can be tedious but you are given ultimate chances.

I have not taken other college-level math classes but this was hard. I still passed with an A but it was not an easy A. Due dates were harder to follow since it would be a Thursday or Wednesday. I did not like that. DO NOT TAKE DURING THE SUMMER.

Professor Alfonso is a dedicated instructor who makes the material engaging. The homework is helpful, and his recorded lectures are great study resources. Unstuckstudy was a game-changer for exam prep. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.

I never liked online class, but I am very glad I got to have him as my Professor during this period. He explains everything in good detail and always answers your questions. Grades are test heavy but the homework itself sets you up for success, as well as his teaching if you're paying attention during the online lectures.

Overall, the class was easy. It was mostly based on the assignments given in MyLab Math. There was a test for every chapter but they were easy. There was both a proctored midterm and final but it was short and easy. He's nice and caring and replies to messages quickly. He cares about his students and provides study guides. Professor Alfonso was organized from the beginning of the semester to the end. Follow the syllabus to keep yourself on track and you should have no problem. Homework and quizzes are mandatory to help your grade. The study guides will help you pass your midterm and final exam. The professor responds to emails and loves to help. Great Class.

I do not like online classes, but this professor made our online class a breeze with their lectures. The system he uses for Pre-cal is a bit dated but works. He answers every question and does not sound like he will bore you to death. I still don't like math, but he made it very bearable. For sure the best math professor in MDC

I took this course online, and I have had a great experience with him and this course. The material is easy and has weekly due dates that are easy to keep up with. I personally find this better than one due date at the end of the term. The professor is super nice and easy to communicate with and very understanding.

This professor is amazing! He's very understanding and easy to contact whenever you need help. I totally recommend him! Two exams were on Honorlock, but they were pretty simple and not stressful at all.

Would honestly take any class he teaches. His lectures are long but super helpful, tests are based off of the homeworks. An amazing professor that actually cares for his students. His online course only has 2 proctored quizzes out of 7. I cant say enough good things about him. TAKE HIM, I passed and I suck at math.
