good teacher
This Professor is great; math GENIUS! I had to work for my grade but I cannot say it was unfair. His lectures are really good and the slides are even better. He is consistent with his examples and puts similar exercises on the tests. Homework is very important! Humble, respectful and concerned with the students. Do not skip any classes. Good luck!
Since he is not a tenured professor, he actually gives a hoot about the students. Humble, always stopping to see if anyone has questions. The slides are excellent. The tests are not easy though. The final can have a little curveball in their, but you will not see things that were not discussed in lecture. Would take him again.
Excellent professor, has a but of an accent when he speaks but he has well-thought out explanations and is very caring for his students. The content and exams are a little bit challenging but you'll as long as you dedicate study time to the class an do the homework. You will also learn a lot of useful information from him. I recommend him.
His teaching of Logic for Computer Science was pretty well done. He explained the topics clearly and would go over them for the first 15 minutes of each class in order to make sure that the entire class would understand everything before continuing. He does assign homework which will be very helpful for exams. If you study, you'll do great!
Took this professor for Data Structures and what an awesome experience. You WILL understand the diff DS's and how they work before you leave the class. Projects and exams are tough but he is ALWAYS willing to help. He will not move on until he feels everyone understands. His slides are awesome. He has an accent but who cares. WOULD TAKE AGAIN!!!
Bajuelos is an amazing professor, really cares about his students and wants you to understand the subject. The first 15 mins of every class are the last 15 mins of the previous class. a sort of review overlap. It's wonderful since usually towards the end of class people tend to zone out. He will repeat things if you ask him to.
Great Professor for both Logic and Data Str. Clear, covered what was needed, Logic was easy. Enjoyable Guy. Study for his tests. Responds to your questions, helpful in his office. Funny.
Exceptionally patient professor, will work with you in and outside the class in order to get you up to speed. Material is tough but fair. Funny guy, thick accent and low volume of speech, recommend sitting as far up close to him as possible. Awesome professor, you won't regret.
Dr. Bajuelos is one of the best professors I've had so far. Very knowledgeable and knows his stuff. The exams are a bit tough and the problems are made to make you think really well about the material. A bit hard to hear him if you sit in the back but he is willing to clarify and explain until you understand. Would take again.
The BEST professor I have taken at FIU. The material is not easy but he explains it in detail. His lectures start by reviewing the previous one, thus you can refresh and reinforce the material. I had to read all the chapters, notes and code to get a "B", but at least he gives fair grades. I'm taking it for Logic next semester.
I also took him for COP3530. He's a great professor and you'll learn a lot from this class. His lectures are filled with examples of problem-solving. One of the best things I feel he does is that if he makes a mistake or can't answer a question in one of his lectures, he will always clear it up in the very next one.
Great Professor, very knowledgeable of the subject and tries to convey what he knows. Very lenient grader as well. After visiting him in his office to review my exams, many points I should have loss he still awarded me. I'd say go to class, visit him in his office, focus on time complexity and note what he says will be on the test
By far, the best professor I have had at FIU. The first time I took Data Structures I got a D (w/other professor.) This time I got an A-! It is amazing how much more I was able to comprehend this time around, Bajuelos is amazing! Grade is made up of 4 Assignment and 4 Exams. He grades VERY fair, and gives points where other prof's won't. TAKE HIM!
This is my second class with Bajuelos and it was great as expected. He explains everything in detail and the Power Points are very good. Now, the material is extremely difficult. I found homeworks and exams hard as well, but I was able to get a B. I have seen and compared other's professor classes and they make it more abstract yet. Take it!
Honestly, past his little accent which you will get used to very fact, he is one of the most intelligent people I have met. He made me learn the basics of logic, resolution, and integrate discrete then show me how it all worked in PROLOG. There's nothing I appreciate more than learning the basics as a build up to applying my knowledge!
Antonio Bajuelos is a very nice and approachable professor. The lectures are very easy and he repeats what he thinks is the most important often, a very good technique to get the essentials down first. Sadly, I wish he would change is the questions he puts on the assignments. There are only 4 assignments, and one was very complex/mathematical.
Awesome professor! At the beginning of each class he summarizes the main topics from the class before, which is amazingly useful! The homework is not easy, but it is not impossible. I honestly had a lot of fun working on the homework.
Outstanding professor. He comes prepared for every class. I wouldn't take logic with any other professor. Fair grader.
- Midterm was 35%, Final was 45% of grade. If you're not a test person, take someone else with more exams, although he's not a picky grader and gives points wherever he can to help students. - You will have to put some time into practicing on your own to fully understand concepts. Coming to class and doing assignments (4 total) isn't enough.
He is a really smart dude and my favorite professor so far throughout my college experience. Extremely knowledgeable and willing to help and answer any questions you might have. Some homeworks are challenging, but he gives adequate time to complete them. Tests are not bad at all.
So... He is a good professor but does not give enough practice. He says that he does but in reality he gives you 4 assignments throughout the semester and that is it! Practice is important especially with something that requires so much understanding and practice!!! Overall if he gave more practice, he'd be excellent. Also, does not give feedback.
Thick accent, but one of the most caring and focused profs at FIU. Thorough in lectures, amazing outside of class in terms of office hours and email correspondence. Gives amazing feedback and is one of the better professors in the department. Has sites for each semester and makes notes and examples easily accessible to all students. Amazing guy.
Dr. Bajuelos is an amazing person that teaches you logic in a manner that makes sense and is effortless. The book is mandatory, per the department, and a lot of the slides come from there, but you're able to survive without it. He is very accomodating when it comes to office hours and availability. Have definitely taken him and would do it again.
Professor Bajuelos is an amazing professor. Took him online during the summer. He gives 4 programming assignments and a midterm/final exam. The exams are multiple choice, be aware that the questions can be tricky. The content of the course was great. Crystal clear videos that went along with his powerpoints. Very rewarding class.
Good professor, speaks fast and can be hard to understand at first, but he's very thorough. Took him in the summer and the entire grade was based on 3 assignments, 2 midterms, and 1 final. Did not provide any feedback for assignments or tests which made it hard to learn what I did wrong.
Good professor, has an accent. His lectures are a little hard to understand but he puts all the power points lectures online. His tests aren't too difficult, they're almost completely similar to the assignments he puts. He is a lenient grader as well thankfully, very nice guy
Passing almost always requires sitting to the front as close as you can. You can get used to his accent, but there are often many times when he talks a little too quietly to understand him. Don't leave hw until last minute. On the tests, write down what you intended so the concepts can be understood by him for a slightly better score otherwise.
Gives mandatory assignments to be done at home. They help with tests somewhat, but you'll still need to study. He has all the powerpoints he uses available at his site. 4 assignments, and 3 tests on fall term. Assignments/Lectures are similar to what's on tests.
4 assignments, 2 tests, and a cumulative final. His lectures are very dense but he makes it interesting and wants you to pass. He responds to emails usually within 24 hours and is always open to help at his office hours. The material for this class isn't easy but he does make it less intimidating. Great teacher.
This guy is a gem for Data Structure, I wouldn't take him for logic, but for this class he's excellent. He gives reviews for the exams, classes are alive (not boring), best prof. for Data struct. in fiu...
First, I want to point out that this is probably the most important course in the computer science learning path. For this reason, you need a good professor, someone who takes their time to explain to you the concepts and provides you with practical examples that will help you succeed in your future job. If you think this is true, take this class.
My first semester at FIU I heard everyone talking about Bajuelos and how great he is. He's the best professor Very clear about what he's teaching and what he expects. His homework assignments make you learn, and his tests are 100% relevant to what is taught. If you do the homework, you will learn enough to earn at LEAST a B.
Lectures were great. Tests were fair. Overall a great professor.
I wish he would talk a bit more loudly. Even if you're in the front row, it sometimes is a bit hard to understand a few words from his lectures. Other than that, he's a very fair assignment and test grader! Just be sure to brush up on a bit of Discrete Math's boolean logic and you're good to go for a big portion of the class.
Take 3530 online, even tho the tests are on proctor u, its easier than in person. 25 MC midterm and final and 4 java assignments. An A- is an 87-89 in his class. he provides recorded lectures and they have subtitles (good for his accent). drawbacks: doesnt offer study guides for exams
The professor you need to take for Data Structures. This is a very important class for CS majors and his lectures come with great context in order to understand the important stuff. In-person recommended over online version since in-person written tests are more forgiving than the online multiple choice tests. Shame he doesn't teach other courses
He is a good professor, flexible and caring for his students. Passionate and proficient in the material. Assignments (4) are very difficult. Exams (2) are difficult. The professor has very thick accent in English which makes it difficult to follow the recorded lectures and seriously affected the learning process for me, as the material is not easy.
Hands down best professor I have ever taken at FIU. Very knowledgeable and cares a lot for his students. Honestly makes taking any CS course very interesting and engaging. He also makes understanding and learning the course very easy. I can genuinely say that Professor Bajuelos is an inspiration to many students. TAKE HIM!
Data Structures is the most important class of comp science major and it definetely deserves a profesor at the level of prof. Bajuelos. He is super knowledgeable , his assigments are not easy but coz' his amazing lectures & he is always reachable, he answer emails super quick, plus his powerpoints, and taking notes you will pass with a good grade.
One of the best professors that I've had at FIU! I took his Data Structures class on weekday nights, yet he was always managed to keep his lectures engaging and funny. Not only is he very knowledgeable of his subject, but he does a great job in explaining more difficult topics, and is always willing to assist his students. 10/10 would recommend!
BEST FIU PROF Took Antonio Bajuelos for LOGIC and DATA STRUCTURES, he is a great professor and you'd be lucky to have him. MUST ATTEND CLASS AND PAY ATTENTION. If you understand the material and can do the hw you'll be ready for the test. Material is hard but he'll guide you along properly.
One of the best professors I've had at FIU. He is knowledgeable , caring and can explain difficult material in a way that is easy to understand. I Took him for Logic , Data Structures and Discrete . Did not get lower than a B in any. Very important that you attend lectures and do HW to get a good grade.
Contrary to many, I didnt love this prof too much. Quite demanding from assignments. Does not go into the implementation of the data structure; believe me this is critical to your understanding. Unless you are truly proficient with Java, Bajuelos is not ideal. For logic, his assignments are convoluted. My expectations may have been too high.
One of the finest professors I've had so far. He is very organized and knowledgeable. His lectures are so informative that you don't even need to read the book. Not an easy A . You need to work for it if you want a good grade, but overall his exams and assignments are fair.
One of the best professors at FIU. His class is one of the few I actually learn in because he teaches very fluently and in a way that is easy for everyone to understand. He truly cares for his students and despite the fact he doesn't curve and your grade is based on a few things, he grades in a very lenient manner. You'll definitely learn in class.
Professor Bajuelos is one of the best professors for CS at FIU. I've taken him for Discrete Structures, Data Structures and Logic for CS, and they've all been very positive experiences. Although he doesn't curve, I have a baseless suspicion that he raises your grade a little if you have good attendance, as I should have had a high B but I got an A-
Great professor!!!!! I totally recommend him.
There is a disconnect between the lectures and the exams or even the assignments and the exam. This class is of course concept heavy and the lecture reflects that. But the exam asks you to apply some of the concepts you learn but the lecture teaches you the why but not the how. Overall you learn the fundamentals here but take the time to prepare.
One of the best professors you can take. I took 3 programming classes and it took this class for me to finally understand programming.
Gives a good challenge and makes sure you learn the topics. You might end up with a lower grade but you will come out much more prepared then what any other professor can offer. He will give you partial credit as long as you show the steps to get to the right answer even if you get it wrong. 3 Exams, 4 Assignments.
great proffesor
Ima be real, I have no idea how this professor has this high of a rating. First of all, dont take him if you want to teach yourself. You are better off taking him online than in person cause he is honestly trash. Im being really honest, I almost didnt even pass this class and I like computer science. So pick another professor that isnt him.
Do yourself the favor, and dont pick this guy. He sucks at explaining and sometimes wont even answer your question. His accent is heavy and not the best, but hey thats up to you if you wanna listen. If you wanna learn data structures very well and actually understand it, dont take this professor
Easy class, easy A. If you take him you will pass without putting too much time in the class. The other choice is to take Pravakar, you are gonna learn more but you are gonna have to study as crazy to pass. Anyways Bajuelos uses Pravakar's videos, so it just a matter of how important is this class to you.
Hes not that bad but you will suffer with his Exams no matter how much you study. There are always tricky questions. Its not a difficult course but he makes it seem difficult. If I would have taken it with another professor Im sure I would have gotten a better grade. Avoid him! Some people do not understand him bc of his accent, keep in mind.
He has been the best professor for CS in FIU so far. His lectures are very well explained! You can reach him by email and he will answer quickly. If he sees you are making an effort to pass he will find a way to help you. He makes curves sometimes!
In my opinion one of the best professors in FIU, attendance is optional but if you go to his classes and pay attention, then you will most likely don't need to study for the exams. If you want to learn and have a real professor, then this is your professor.
I took him for intro to Database systems . he is the best professor at FIU definitely! Provides a lot of videos to better understand concepts. You can reach him by email, he answers so quickly. Don't hesitate to take him for any class!! The best!
I took him for data structure. He explains concepts very clear and straight forward! Exams are easy if you study and do all questions he suggests. Very helpful feedbacks. He is such a great professor!
Professor Bajuelos' a very good professor. He would let you know via the syllabus when everything is due and when it is available for you to start working on it and he will be very clear about the grading criteria. I am constantly sending emails to clarify doubts, he always replies within a couple of days. I have taken 3 classes with him, all great
I really enjoy his logic class, it was super easy. Tests are nothing unexpected, just the similar examples he explains. Very good professor !
I have taken Dr. Bajuelos for Data Structures, Logic for CS, and Discrete Math. He is such a good professor. If you go to every class, you will have all knowledge needed to get good grades in his exams. His lectures are the easiest to follow. He does a review in the first 15 minutes of each class, no way you get lost! Best professor you can take!
This professor was one of the best I have taken at FIU and for THE most important class. I have been a competitive applicant for top software companies in USA, even securing a spot at Ultimate Software and it was all thanks to his lectures. But don't think you will learn without putting work, his lectures are heavy and his tests hard, but worth it!
If you want to learn and have a professor that really cares about his students, you should take him. He is one of the best professors I have had at FIU. He responds to emails very quickly and is always willing to help in and out of the classroom. He gives excellent lectures and exam reviews. I will definitely take him again.
This was not an easy class and is definitely one of the most important classes in computer science. Honestly, professor Bajuelos, despite his accent, made the class very interesting. His lectures are very detailed and he is always willing to stay after class to clarify any questions. My advice: pay attention and study, this will make it easy
This was my second class with professor Bajuelos and I can say he's one of the best professors at FIU. I really enjoyed his class and even though I took it in the summer and the time was not enough to cover all the material in detail, the PROLOG part of the course was really interesting but challenging. Study and do the assignments and you'll be ok
Bajuelos is one of the best professors at FIU. He is very knowledgeable, caring and understanding. Online courses are obviously more challenging than on-campus but he is very organized and he grades fairly. I would recommend taking this class with him.
This professor is amazing. His classes are very interesting and he uses several resources to make the content easier to assimilate. If you need help after class, he is happy to help and he is also willing to reconsider your grade for an assignment if you have questions or think you deserved more.
If you are taking this class remotely because of COVID, BEWARE. There are no zoom meetings, if you are bad with time management and motivation, you will struggle. You need to be prepared to set time aside to watch the videos because attendance is not required. Tests are difficult but if you study the guide he gives you will be fine.
He is not a professor at all. What a mistake has been taking this class with him.
Professor Bajuelos was very responsive, patient, and helpful when I had (many) questions. His accent is very thick, so it may take some getting used to. Once I got used to it (and used video captions) I very much enjoyed his lectures. There is a free textbook, but I find I don't need it when I pay attention to the lectures. 2 exams, 4 assignments.
3 assignments, a midterm, and a final. The assignments are easy, but weigh very little. You'll need to study the material in order to pass, and the professor will post additional resources on top of the video lectures and textbook. This online class is honestly not all bad, especially compared to the others at FIU.
BEWARE FIU students. Socially distance yourself from this professor at all costs. To start it off, this professor barely explains anything and has a terrible accent that no one can understand. Myself and others have enrolled in the academy of YouTube to actually understand the materials. Finally, please do yourself a favor and don't take Bajuelos.
Class was tough for me. Little resources available to learn the material besides what he gives you. Tough to understand his power-points. I struggled in this class but the professor wasnt bad.
A fair and nice professor, focuses on conceptual stuff and some python programming so fresh up on that if you're going to take him.
Prof Bajuelos can be difficult to understand due to his accent and mic. However, he has good intentions and is very accessible to answer your questions. Your grade is very heavily weighted on two exams(35% and 40%). Exam questions are more than reasonable. The assignments don't count for much but prepare you very well for the exams.
I don't know why he's so respected, his XML videos are horrible, you learn nothing from his XML videos, and don't even learn how to program using it. Also why are we learning XML and not SQL..? Outdated, and doesn't teach us how to use basex.
Professor Bajuelos is kind, caring, and attentive professor. He is very understanding is quick to reply for any questions or doubts you may have. The class consists of 3 assignments, and two exams (midterm & final). Overall assignments & exams are easy to do and he gives you tons of resources to use in case you get stuck. Best professor at FIU
Professor Bajuelos is one of the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and will try to help you as much as he can. This class is easy, but expect to do some work if you want an A. Database is a very important topic for any CS student no matter what field you will specialize in. having some notion of DB is a must.
great prof, gives in-depth explanations on materials and the assignments are really engaging to work on, not too hard but it isn't an easy A either. All of his lectures are online so you don't have to come to class, but I would recommend it because his explanations are good. midterm and final are heavily weighted so make sure to study for them!
Decent professor; definitely better than most. I enjoyed the class and had good feedback from the professor. The midterm and finals combined are 75% of the total grade (completed through honorlock). Lectures are good but you don't have to watch them, google can be your guide. He provides exam reviews which I found useful. DON'T BUY THE BOOK!
Great professor, good PowerPoints and lectures. Very test heavy but homework assignments will prepare you for test.
This professor makes this class too hard. stayed in his class for about a month and a half before I dropped it because it was too hard. then I took the class with a different professor and it was super easy!
His midterm was 35% and final 40%, but there wasn't anything on there that wasn't on his slides. He explains concepts well imo. His class is more about learning more data structures than implementing them, but he gives you resources to find out how to code them on the slides and he expects you to do them on your own since it's a x1 per week class.
Taking him online so maybe the experience is different in person but his lectures are awful. Audio is bad so its hard to even understand him sometimes. Only 3 assignments and they are very difficult and the examples he provide are not similar to the assignment.
Exams use honorlock (AVOID). His lectures are next to useless, his voice is incomprehensible and the slides don't help with most of the assignments. Does not accept scanned handwritten homework (unlike every other mathematics prof you will likely ever have), assignments are relatively long and tedious, you'll be teaching yourself with youtube.
He is clearly very knowledgeable. Be ready to research everything because the lectures are hard to follow. He just goes over a PDF presentation and mostly reads it. Not many examples are provided and it is a ton of material. The final in particular is cumulative. You are expected to remember algorithms and their properties. He has a rough accent.
Professor Bajuelos has a classic teaching style. He speaks very fast! His class includes lectures/video recordings and many opportunities to learn from additional sources. Responds promptly. Kind.
I had him online for data structures and it was a stress-free class. There were 3 assignments and two exams so it wasn't a lot of work. He also let me turn in a late assignment so he's pretty reasonable. He's one of the best teachers for data structures.
