Cant understand him or read his handwriting. His lectures are very scattered.
interesting lectures and relates them to current economic situations of countries
Semi-disorganized, but be sure to take notes as all the tests are based on in-class lectures. Very helpful in office hours, he'll spend a long time with each student to ensure they understand the material. Questions? Comments?
Antonio is a boss. His lectures are interesting and organized and his pleasant and unassuming tone is anything but intimidating. He is a very experienced macroeconomist and is passionate. Its important to go to class but he also gives out the old tests which are excellent tools to utilize for prepping. "Questions, Comments?"
Great Professor! Always relates concepts to real world examples and clearly lays out the information you need to know for the test. Spends a whole class reviewing for test and going over test after they are graded. He wants to help his students out at the end of the day
Professor Bojanic is awesome. He's hilarious and very willing to help students succeed any way he can. He'll go over what will be on each exam the day before the exam, which is really helpful. Class notes are extremely important - tests are based on class notes, not the textbook. Especially if you're an econ major, take his classes.
Awesome dude. Teaches entirely out of his classes and is pretty chill a lot of the times. Very open to helping students and he tries to make you succeed. Everything is taught in class. He is a bit tough on grading sometimes, but he's fair.
I took him for Macro and his exams were clearcut and easy. If you study your notes from class, you should do fine on all of his exams (2 midterms and 1 final). He was really nice and even though his accent was hard to understand at times, his lectures are exactly what the test will be. He doesn't ask trick questions on exams. Take him!
Bojanic for macro was a great experience. Take over Weiss any day- his tests are very fair and he tests on what he teaches. Few homework assignments and only two tests, would recommend attending class. Take Bojanic for macro!
Extremely clear cut in exams. Teaches straight out of his notes. I bought the textbook and never opened it , I regret purchasing. Helpful guy who gives real world examples. Made me fall in love with the Solow growth model. Favorite phrase: "Let's do this people!"
He's a great guy but he doesn't explain the material well. He has messy handwriting and even though he tells you exactly what type of questions are going to be on the test, the questions are still very difficult. Hard class and he does not do many practice problems during lectures
Professor Bojanic is such a genuine professor, he really understands and cares about the material and watching him lecture is very engaging. He wants us all to do well and provides us with all of the resources to succeed in class; by going to class and answering questions you will do well in this course. Bojanic is the best!
Go to class everyday. Study the 5 test questions he gives you beforehand. Get an A. Best econ professor at Tulane, always in a really good mood too
Best teacher in the Econ department at Tulane. Extremely honest and humble man who speaks to his students as equals and who cares deeply about the material. I felt encouraged to go to class every day because his lectures were so special and engaging; I feel more passionate about economics after taking a course with Bojanic.
His lectures are good, but he's a tough and inconsistent grader and often dismissive of students. He tells you what the tests are over before each one, but the questions themselves are trickier than anything he does in class or puts on the (few) homeworks.
Bojanic knows exactly what he is taking about and is able to break down tough information into easy pieces. He wants you to get an A in the class and is very clear about his expectations
Great professor for intermediate macro. He is passionate about what he teaches and keeps class interesting. His tests are exactly like the homework and notes, and he gives very helpful reviews. Just make sure you show up to class, because he doesn't put anything online, so you'll need to copy all your notes of the board.
Bojanic is absolutely my favorite econ professor! Always gives clear and interesting lectures and easy exams. He cares about his students and tries to ensure that everyone understands the stuff he talks about. He is simply amazing. The only sad thing is that he only teaches intermediate macro and money & banking and I want more!
The best 9 am class I've ever taken. Attendance isn't a part of the grade, but his class notes are the only method to study. Very caring, funny, and engaging lecturer. Makes sure the class follows his lectures and spends ample time on topics until they're crystal clear. Sends out past exams which are pretty similar to the actual exam you will have.
Literally one of the best professors in Tulane! He is so patient and caring about his students. Lectures are so engaging and inspiring. He is such a respected man. I really hope that he can teach more than Intermediate Macro and banking and money.
Best Econ professor in Tulane! Knowledgeable and concerned. Definitely take him!
Knowledge and always tries to tie in his lecture to real world examples. Doesnt use the textbook, instead all of his test questions will come directly from the board. Look over the old tests he sends out to help you prepare along with the homeworks. Really engaging lectures and not all that difficult.
Honestly I love this man. The class isnt too dificult , but the material is really interesting and he connects the topics to the real world. He prepares you well for exams as well.
Bojanic is super cool and easy. His lectures are pretty straightforward even if you don't know much about Econ and his tests are very easy and fairly graded. He comes from Bolivia originally and offers a unique economic perspective on international trade and relations. Definitely take Bojanic for Intermediate Macro.
Antonio is great. Really good teacher and a cool guy. Tests are straight forward and easy if you put the work in. Highly recommend.
Bojanic always gives international comparisons which both clarify the material and make the class very enjoyable. He all but tells you what's on the test, but beware: there are only ever five questions on each test and the partial credit is brutal. If you don't get it 100% correct prepare for a blow. The solution is to practice, practice, practice.
If you want to get an A in an advanced econ class, take him. He is literally the BEST econ professor I've ever had. Just go to class and take good notes you will be fine. Go to office hours if you don't understand your notes; he will explain it pretty well. He even remembers you and says hi to you even long after you have taken his class
Intermediate Macroeconomics with Professor Bojanic was my favorite class this semester. The lectures are always interesting and Professor Bojanic always ties what we learn in class to events in the real world. He tells you what topics are going to be on the test and he releases old tests for students to practice. Overall a great Econ professor!
Prof. Bojanic is hilarious! He makes economics fun and easy to understand. He also cares about students and is very accessible outside of class. 100% recommend.
This is my second class with Dr. Bojanic, and hes one of the coolest dudes Ive ever met. I had to pick him as my major advisor I loved him so much. The most important thing is to make sure you go to class. Yeah, having the book is great, but he outlines exactly what you need to know for tests and real life if you just go to class.
He made Intermediate Macro interesting and the concepts were easy to understand. He is not only passionate about teaching but really wants his students to succeed. By far the best Econ teacher at Tulane. Three tests, each 30%, and 5 hw for 10%. The tests are 5 questions and the final is not cumulative. As long as you go to class, it's an easy A
Enjoyable professor who knows his material well. He's not a very tough grader but not easy either. 2 midterms and 1 final worth 30% each, and 5 homeworks worth 2% each.
Great teacher. Attendance is optional but should still go so you don't miss homework. Test heavy but he makes it easy to get an A.
Professor Bojanic is one of my favorite Econ professors because he tests what he specifically teaches. By going to class you fully understand the problems that will be on the test. He gives 5 old tests to study for each midterm (3 no final) and if you do the practice tests, midterms will be easy because the problem structure is exactly the same.
I didn't find Professor Bojanic as funny as everyone on this site says he is, but his class was overall enjoyable. Not difficult and pretty slow-paced. I'd take again.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Professor Bojanic. He is the best. The class is hard but he gives you a ton of old exams before each midterm to practice which is super helpful. Technically attendance isn't mandatory but if you skip class... good luck
His class is extremely structured. You have 3 exams and a final. The exams are based on the lectures. He gives the previous 5 semesters worth of exams to study off. If you pay attention in the class you will get an A.
Gives 3 tests that are each 5 questions and make up basically the whole grade. A homework assignment maybe once a month. Explains everything in class. If you write down what he writes down and study that it's really easy to do well. Good at answering questions. Clearly knows what he's talking about.
Definitely a harder teacher than this website makes him seem, but a super engaging lecturer and very helpful with questions. The best Intermediate Macro teacher hands down.
Bojanic is one of the better lecturers I've had at Tulane, even though they can feel drawn out at times. He does not try to set up any of his students to fail. Your grade is determined by 5 homeworks (2% each), and three tests (30% each). For each test he sends out previous exams. If you can do the problems from his past exams, you'll do well.
three tests that cover five predetermined topics each... study only those five topics and do ALL the practice tests. only tiny bit of hw. lectures are meh but tests are super fair
Interesting lecture where he brings in a lot of real-life examples. Class is based on five homeworks at 2% and 3 exams at 30% each. He gives practice exams that are very similar to the class exams. If you take diligent class notes, review the material, and understand the practice problems you'll do well. Gives little partial credit. Overall, great.
I took Bojanic's intermediate macroeconomics class and pandemics class. His lectures are good. He mentions the topics for each test so make sure to study those and you should do well.
Prof Bojanic is one of the best overall professors Ive had. His lectures are clear, interesting, relevant, and filled w/examples. Exams 90% of the grade but they are incredibly fair; he tells you exactly what to expect and send out old tests you can practice with. Honestly, youll be fine if you just go to class, listen, and take notes. Great guy!
By far one of the best Professors in the department. There is no textbook, so going to the lectures is crucial. Luckily, his lectures are phenomenal! It is easy to keep up and he is extremely clear about what he expects on exams, and goes even so far as to give you the exact breakdown of what is on the exam. Your grade is 90% exams (3) and 10% HW.
Take him if you can! He gives you old exams to study with which are exactly like the real exams, and he goes over problems in class so there aren't ever really surprising test questions. For a 75 minute class, his lectures are pretty interesting and it goes by fast. The only thing is your entire grade is from the 3 exams and there's no drop.
he is super unclear and unfair. He do not listen to his students at all nor does he really want them to succeed. He will barley answer questions has the answer always seems to be "yes" even if that does not make sense for the answer to be. he is completely unfair and changes the material and the homeworks are no help to study with.
90% of your grade in the class is made up of 3 tests. If you do poorly on one test, there really isn't a way to bring your grade up.He only gives homework once in a while so there is not much actual work due for the class. Lectures are useless you'll have to teach yourself everything or go to the SI session that are usually canceled.
DO NOT TAKE FOR 1020 MACRO. Your entire grade is based on 3 tests. Doesn't use PowerPoint just writes on a plain piece of paper. Unclear in lecture and confusing to ask questions. I'm sure he's a better econ teacher for the upper levels but for intro students? No way. Tests aren't impossible if you read the textbook and expect little to no help.
tests are easy if you know the material. he is a very intelligent man and his lectures are great, but his accent and the big lecture hall make it difficult to understand him sometimes. records his lectures and has online zooms, so attendance isn't mandatory. put in the work, and it will reflect in your grade
People complain because he's unorganized and sometimes hard to understand, but if you attend class, take notes, and read the textbook if the lecture was confusing, his tests are super manageable and easy to get an A. Just attend class and you'll be fine. All the stuff on the test is said in class
BAD choice for 1020. Your grade relies on 2 tests and the final, and his lectures are super confusing and unclear. The only way to do well is to teach yourself from the textbook.
Attendance is not mandatory, but he doesn't use the textbook and exam questions are entirely from lectures. He explains things very clearly and is always open to questions. Grade is based off 3 exams (90%) and 5 hw (10%). Exams are not hard and he posts previous exams to study, but he gives little partial credit so you need to be prepared.
Bojanic is the best, great prof, great guy. Took intermediate macro w/ him as a freshman, makes the content easy to understand, no heavy math/calculus needed. Gives you past exams to practice before each midterm/final, and the actual exam is a slight variation of those. All around a fantastic professor, liked him so much he's now my major advisor!
Bojanic's lectures make macroeconomics easy to understand. His class is well organized. There is a textbook, but you don't really need to read it. We had 5 homeworks and 3 exams. Every exam has 5 questions, and he tells you the topics for each question ahead of time. Gives you previous exams to study off as well. Final wasn't cumulative.
The course grade was based entirely on exams. No curve on any exams or assignments. He didn't provide any practice material or review questions for our tests, even though tests counted for so much of our grade. His lectures are difficult to understand and he provides no notes. I wouldn't take him again.
Hard to understand him. He also took handwritten notes without a PowerPoint; his handwriting is not legible. Tests were worth 30% and after failing the first one and emailing to meet, four times, he did not respond. I heard stellar things about him from my econ friends, and maybe he is excellent at an upper level, but he cannot teach big lectures.
One of those profs who remind me why I'm an econ major and love the subject. He's fantastic. The few negative ratings he has are from people who took his intro to macro, it was his first time teaching it in a while and his teaching style wasn't as well suited to a big lecture. But for intermediate he's the goat. So engaging and surprisingly funny.
I took this class my fall semester of my freshman year. You do not need to have much background information in order to take the class. If it does get trying, Dr. Bojanic is always available outside of class. Very interesting course along with a great professor!
such a nice and funny guy. attendance does not matter but you should go to class if you want to do well because his tests are literally exactly what he teaches and he gives practice tests that are super similar.
Bojanic's phenomenal, took intermediate macro with him and now econ of pandemics. Super engaging class, his passion and interest in the subject are clear. hilarious and cares so much about students learning, tells you exactly what types of questions will be on exams. Can't recommend him enough. You also get to read his research which is fascinating
He's an amazing professor. Best economics teacher here. 100% recommend.
Antonio is a fantastic professor who cares deeply about his field, as long as you attend the lectures and study for the exams, you should be fine. The total grade is based on 2 midterms a final and 5 homeworks. Only 5 questions on each exam and he provides past exams for studying. As long as you take very good notes, don't attend the zooms.
Bojanic is amazing and after taking several classes I've learned: GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS and ask questions (you can get test points back/partial credit if you review with him) Get old practice/actual exams from former students (some questions were word-for-word the same!) Attendance isn't mandatory, but you'll benefit if he knows your name and face
I may be an outlier but I struggled in both classes I took with him. He was very accessible and helpful outside of class which was nice. Grading criteria on the exam was pretty straightforward but if you do not do exactly what he wants on the exam he'll take a lot of points off. Not really sure if I would take again
Bojanic is a fantastic professor. His classes are lecture-heavy, but he's entertaining and engaging in his own way. Exams are on exactly what his lectures are about. Good and thorough notes are critical. I would absolutely take him again
Extremely clear about his tests/req - 2 midterms + final, and reviews the content a class before each test + tells you what each question will be about. Class is lecture heavy and attendance isn't mandatory (lecture is recorded) but going to class helps. Your grade is mostly tests (90%) & 10% HW. But he does all he can to help his students do well.
Do not take his class if you can not learn on your own. NO POWER POINTS. he basically just spews information at you and you are expected to know and understand it straight from his mouth. He actually prides himself in not having slides. This makes it very difficult to learn and study. Little to no homework also makes it hard to practice and learn
Econ3020 was a breeze with Botanic. Just take notes during the lectures and you'll be fine. He gives you all the previous tests and they are basically the exact same as the tests he gives. There is maybe 4 small homework assignments in the whole class, so you have to do well on the tests, but the tests are very easy
gives you 2 exams and 1 final and prepares you well + questions are usually straight forward. Homework is harder than exam questions. don't have to attend lectures because every class is recorded. ignore the bad reviews this class is 100% manageable and fair and he definitely wants you to succeed.
Exams are 90% of your grade are exams. not accommodating whatsoever. test questions are very difficult
Nice guy, but it was a massive class so there was minimal individual contact. Doesn't have slides (writes in crappy handwriting all the graphs and info. Doesn't curve tests. Teaches too advanced for intro to macro. Take him for intermediate.
I love Dr Bojanic! He is a great lecturer, keeps students engaged, and outlines clearly what questions will be on each exam - he does a review session before each exam as well during class. Money&Banking was the second class I took with Bojanic and it was super interesting, lots of ties into finance classes, an easy A if you pay attention.
donwjd
Bojanic is not a good professor to take if you are a bad test taker! This class is extremely test heavy!! Also, very hard to get extra assistance outside of class if you need help. He DOES NOT CURVE exams! Only 10% of your grade is homework, rest is the 2 Midterms and 1 final exam. I hated this class so much and I studied so hard.
Professor Bojanic is the worst teacher I have ever had. He doesn't post powerpoints and only recorded lectures. He is impossible to understand and has awful handwriting. Tests are 90% of your grade and not easy. The only thing you can rely on to study are SI Sessions, and anything he mentions in class is fair game for exams. Avoid at all costs.
Professor Botanic was very difficult to understand and had very disorganized lectures. He also was not good with the technology, lecturing either verbally without slides or writing (illegibly) on the whiteboard or a paper. His class is literally 90% test grades and test questions are meant to fool you. Wouldn't recommend.
Professor Antonio is really great. If someone is willing to do the work and attend class they will be fine. Not a lot of homeworks and tests and he does not try to make the class hard. He is also a very nice and approachable professor. Our class for Macro was huge but he still tried to involve the students by asking questions.
Really messy class. Hard to understand, inconsistent lecture style (content would overlap class to class), difficult to study for exams that were heavily weighted (30% each Test 1, 2 and Final). However, I tried to participate and make myself stand out, which he appreciates, and he'll help your grade out if you do so too. Nice guy overall though.
a lot of people say he is not good but as long as you take notes in class and watch the recordings of class you can retain all the information. its annoying because its mostly based on exams but he does prepare you well for them as long as you TAKE NOTES AND REWATCH THE LECTURES!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are a good note taker this class is for you!!!
Decent lectures but class grade was made up 90% from midterms and 10% from homework. There is not much homework at all it just comes down to tests that are of moderate-level difficulty. Overall not bad but not amazing either.
90% of the grade is based on three tests. (40 MCQ each test) / teaches few things from intermediate econ in intro class / no extra credits / class was a bit stressful during the semester.. +I was 89.3?4? but he rounded up to A-
Bojanic is the worst professor I have had in all my years of school. I was fooled by his decent reviews on this website. He has a thick accent and horrible handwriting, making his lectures nearly impossible to follow considering he only speaks and messily handwrites some notes. He does not post lecture slides or typed notes. He needs to be fired.
Probably my favourite professor this semester - extremely passionate and caring of the subject. Homework is unlimited submissions and he tells you the question type before the exam. Clear and comprehensive syllabus, though his handwriting can be difficult to understand at times
He is such an awesome professor and understands the subject so well. His classes are hard but very rewarding and worth it.
Amazing professor! He truly cares about students, is highly knowledgeable, and sets us up for success with study material for exams, detailed feedback, and fair homework. He has a thick accent, but he records lectures. Exams are straightforward, everything taught is relevant, and his humor makes class enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Antonio Bojanic is a good professor. He wants his students to do well on exams. The textbook is not helpful.
Great professor, lectures are entertaining and well taught.
This class was incredibly fair. We knew exactly what to expect from exams and homeworks. Dr. Bojanic cares for his students and wants them to succeed. Rewatching the recorded lectures is very helpful. The textbook is not necessary at all.
90% exams 10% homework. attendance doesn't matter and records all classes on zoom. tests aren't that bad but average is usually around 75-85. all multiple choice
Dr. Bojanic's lectures are clear and concise, the homework is fair. He won't ever test you on something he didn't discuss in class. All of his lectures are recorded on zoom and posted that same day, so don't stress if you have to miss a class. His grades will show up weird on canvas though, so you have to email him to ask about your actual grade.
Honestly the worst Econ professor I've ever had. His lectures are impossible to understand and hard to follow because of his incredibly thick accent and handwriting of a toddler. No slides, or any other material besides his voice. No study guides whatsoever so you can't even prepare properly for the exams. Wish these reviews were more accurate.
Low maintenance, easy A. However, terrible handwriting, and he handwrites all notes (like what???). No grading criteria provided or feedback provided. You get the grade you get with zero explanation. Old exams provided for studying, however no answers are provided. Hard to ever know if you're doing things correct without feedback or answers.
Probably one of the better economics teachers I have had. Makes tests based on what he teaches (never will trick you) He tells you exactly what questions will be put on his tests and will give you past exams for practice (no answer key so go to his office hours to see if correct) He is always accessible and he truly does care for his students.
Test heavy grade with a few homeworks. If you go to class and understand he reviews exactly what is going to be on the tests. He doesn't use his own powerpoints so when studying you have to rely on the notes you take in class. His handwriting is hard to understand and his accent is also a little bit different but overall good class and good teacher
Bojanic is the best! He's a super funny guy and very kind if you go in for office hours. He does have an accent and terrible handwriting, but explains concepts in depth. Grade is 90% midterms and the final, but the tests aren't super difficult. There's not study guides or lecture slides, but the SI sessions are helpful to know what to study.
Prof Bojanic is a harsh grader, but if you understand what he wants of your work (which he makes very clear) you'll have an easy time in his class. Very accessible and likes what he does. Gotta say though, don't take him if you're deaf—He writes like a doctor with Parkinson's.
Prof. Bojanic is one of my favorite professors at Tulane! If you do not understand your grade or what you did wrong on a HW or test, definitely talk to him!! It is super helpful and you might even get points back.
Tough but very interesting/useful class. Go to all classes to fully understand the material. Office hours are your best friend before exams. He's funny and enthusiastic with a very interesting background. You can resubmit homework to regain points. 2 midterms and a non-cumulative final are straightforward. Recommend but be ready to work
Bojan is simply the best Tulane has to offer. Fantastic lecturer. Connects concepts to real world and brings in data to back up that the concepts are legit. Funny, accessible, knowledgeable, and he records and posts lectures. I cannot recommend him enough. I've taken almost every class he teaches. Classes are no layup but you'll learn
I wish I had gone to class more lol, I ended up just watching the zooms he uploaded to learn content. He's rly caring and funny. Lowk the homeworks were harder than the tests so take time to do those. He's very helpful and tests are very in-line with content covered in class. Textbook not necessary.
Second time taking Bojanic. The midterm exams are medium difficulty. The final exam is much easier. The pace of the lectures can be fast, which is the most challenging aspect of the course.
90% of your grade is from tests and there are only 3 tests the whole year, no curve. If you are not a good test taker, expect to fail the class.
