This professor is great. He likes to joke and makes the class interesting and fun. He really cares if you learn and wants students to be successful. If you need history, take him...he's not bad to look at either!

I totally loved him!

Dr. Thompson is a great professor, and for those who don't get his sense of humor, it is only because they don't have the intellect necessary to understand it. He expects a lot of his students which says he is not just along for the ride. In other words, he wants to make sure you actually learn something.

Dr.Thompson is a great professor! I'm not much of a history buff, but he makes it both interesting and fun. The class is lecture format and the grading consists of 3 tests and a term paper- not that bad. And the best thing about the class you actually learn something, and the grading is fair. Besides, he is cute as well which is definite plus. :)

Great guy. I hate history but he made it fun to come to class and listen. Its lecture but taking notes is easy he lets you know main topics and everything he says will be on the test so make sure you come to class. he takes attendence. hes funny and really nice. I definately reccomend him!!

EXCELLENT TEACHER...DULL BUT HUMOROUS VOICE... WORKS WITH THE STUDENT AND IS NOT DIFFICULT...IF YOU TAKE GOOD NOTES AND STUDY OCCASIONALLY, GREAT RESULTS WILL APPEAR...I WISH I COULD TAKE HIS CLASS EVERY SEMESTER

He is hilarious!! Go to class! Even at 8:00 in the morning, the class was always so interesting. He will make you laugh so hard even while he teaches. Take him!

Dr. Thompson actually made history interesting. He knows the material-- he does not have to check his notes or the book to answer questions. His notes are very thorough and he does speak quickly. This is the first history class in which I never got bored.

He teachs online and in the classroom, but the classroom is the way to go with him. Taking this class was like watching an awesome history movie every week. He really knows his stuff! I'm a big class sleeper and my eyes were wide open every day. The class was very easy 4 test and one easy paper and I actually learned a lot without even trying!!

OMG! He is the best prof. when it comes to history.His class is pretty easy as long as you take notes, and he only gives multiple choice tests. He is also very funny and makes it feel like you are actually there. He gets the class involved and only has one 3 page paper required. 4 really easy tests and none of them are accumulative.

Dr. Thompson is great! I love this guy. I made an "A." He's the type of guy to be really laid back. If you genuinely try, you will get a good grade. No homework. You do need to study though. His class is laidback and you learn alot.

Dr. Thompson is a laid back, fun, and interesting professor with good opinions. Three tests, a few quizzes, and one paper. Tests=multiple choice(MAINLY!)/fill in the blank. Quizzes=fill in the blank. Everything comes from lecture as the textbook is rarely used if at all. This requires mandatory attendance if you are to pass. No homework. Study hard

THE BEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN! Dr, Thompson is very smart, funny, and kind! He knows his history! I hate history. I never once got distracted from his lectures. He makes them interesting and I actually wanted to come to class everytime. Covers a lot of material quickly but no homework. Study your notes regularly & its easy A. Dont buy the book:)

This is the best class I have ever taken. He kept you interested and always had amazing lectures. I wouldn't recommend anyone else! He has got to be the best teacher at AP!!

Dr. Thompson is the best history teacher I have ever had at Austin Peay. He explains things in great detail and he makes it interesting

Awesome class!! He is hilarious and keeps the class from being insanely boring. Definately the best history class i've had. The work load is reasonable and he truly keeps the students best interest in the forefront.

Best professor I have. Hes super funny and I actually look forward to class. Tests are easy as long as you go to class. You get the choice betwen a research paper and a book review. Awesome class!

He is an amazing teacher. I would tell anyone taking a history class to try and get in one of his. He's hilarious and really makes history fun! I can't say enough just what a great teacher he is!

Dr Thompson is an amazing professor. If you're the type of student (like I'd always been) who hates history, this is the teacher for you! My entire class fell in love with history thanks to this professor. He's full of energy and qwerky jokes, but they still make you laugh. He answers questions thoroughly. Do not need a book! =]

Dr. T is amazing. He is one of the best professors I have had so far. He is willing to help you if you need it and will crack jokes like a stand-up comic. He is also easy to follow in lectures because he makes sure everyone knows what is going on.

He is great! He is really funny and cracks silly jokes all the time. I wasn't that interested in history before, but he makes it really interesting. You don't need the book. You only have to write 1 research paper for the test. Take notes, and study them and you will do fine. Oh, and watch The Patriot, he makes a lot of references to it.

i absolutely adore this man. I hated history until i took his class, he is so charismatic and inspiring, he is involved with his students and passionate about what he teaches, the work load is very easy as long as you take notes. I would highly recommend this italian man to anyone.

The class is fun and interesting if you interact with him. Take notes everyday and study them and you will pass his tests. Tries to make class less boring with jokes...sometimes they are funny, other times you laugh because they are so stupid.

Dr. Thompson is funny, the best lecturer and passionate about history. So, GO TO CLASS (cause its fun :) and when he lectures about History, it becomes fascinating!! His test are "easy" if you study, but we are college students and studying is our life. Also, feel lucky that you do not have to write more than a 2 page report!

Seriously awesome teacher! I used to hate history now I love it because of him! We had 4 tests a semester.. kinda hard when you first start but they get easy once you know how they are set up.. and you have one opinion paper. Overall not bad at all.

Best Lectures Ever Happen With This Guy. He Makes Class Funny And Fun Which Makes It Easy To Recall Stuff On Test By Figuring Out Which Joke Relates. One Paper And A Few Test That's All The Work You Get. It's Fun And Surly A Class I'll Never Forget.

Dr.Thompson was a fantastic teacher. I really enjoyed his lectures. Jokes alot in class, doesn't like it when you text in class so he'll come stand behind you if he see's you doing it. He does take attendence but he makes class interesting so going to class is fun.

He makes history come alive and is always making jokes with the class. his tests are mostly multiple questions and not that hard but you have to know what he's talking about to get a good grade.

Dr. Antonio Thompson's teaching methods are rock solid. He prepares you for the absolute worst then delivers reasonable tests to ensure your success AND a good educating on the subject. He's got his technique down. ...... annnd Dr. Antonio is an Italian Stallion. Make no mistake. I give him two thumbs up. Work hard, have faith- will fly.

Never liked history until I encountered Dr. T. I don't mind actually coming to class. His lectures are like Cinemax or something. Tests are easy, just look over your notes after each class, youll bee fine. THE MOST competent professor at AP. Antonio Thompson for President!

I would refer Dr. Thompson's history class to anyone! He is very entertaining and always helpful outside of class. From personal experience, he has always replied to my emails on the weekends and is always available in his office. Make sure to just come to class, print out the outlines he provides and take notes and you will pass with no problem!

I took Dr Thompson once and I loved his class so much that he still remembers who I am. He is my favorite professor that I have had all 4 years at austin peay...And I'm a psych major! My absolute favorite!!!

I am taking Dr. Thompson this semester with 2 weeks to go. I wasn't ever interested in history before, but he makes it fun. He is an incredible professor and makes learning fun. As long as you come to class and take notes, you'll do fine on his tests. He also gives out extra credit. He is by far my favorite professor and I suggest you take him!

Dr. Thompson is an incredible professor! His tests are a bit challenging, so you MUST study to pass the class. However, he's very understanding and wants every student to do well; you just have to make the effort to approach him about any problems you're having. TAKE HIM!! You won't regret it!

This is a great teacher, one of the best I've had in college. I highly recommend taking his lecture. Assignments are reasonable, just pay attention and do any of the work required. He's very clear and more than willing to help or answer questions. Also vote for Thompson in 2016

Tests were easy, all you have to do is go to class, feverishly write everything he says down and study. But, the way he tells history is like an exciting adventure story. Honestly I probably could have just gone and listened to him paint the picture of US History and got a good grade on the tests. There was a 5 page paper.

I previously took him online and withdrew. His in class teaching style is awesome and I suck at history but easily retained what information he gave. I highly recommend his class and wish I had taken 1020 in order. Wine and cheese.

Does a outstanding job at keeping the student's interest, loves to joke with class and enjoys class participation, there are four test and two papers, plenty of extra credit and book is not needed, taking a lot of notes is a must because test come straight from them, overall Dr. T is awesome take him if you get the chance

Doctor Thompson made history so enjoyable for me. He is hilarious and has the best examples. It feels like every class is story time, not actual class. There are only a couple tests and a couple short papers to write. He's awesome! Take him!

Dr.T is outstanding, very clear on what he wants. Jokes with class and lectures in a way so that the student can recall info for test. 4 test 2 papers and numerous extra credit chances. DR. T for president!!

Mr Thompson is one one of the most amazing professors at APSU! You won't regret taking him. His lectures are awesome, informative and very entertaining. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and it inspires you. He is super nice and down to earth as well. I really enjoyed his class and looked forward to it.

Dr. Thompson is a very interesting teacher. He is very funny and makes lecture interesting. He doesn't use power points, so you'll have to listen closely and take good notes. His tests are exactly from lecture. He sometimes gives pop quizzes, but he usually doesn't grade them. Unlike most history professors, he doesn't make you read a book.

Dr. Thompson has probably been one of my favorite professors so far. He is very funny, and cares a lot about his students. All the info for the tests come directly from his lectures, which are very enjoyable. No reading out of the book was ever needed. I'm no good at history and even I love this class. Highly recommend!!

Professor Thompson is a great professor. He DOES NOT go by the text book, so you have to go to class. As long as you study your notes and do extra research for your essay questions, it is an automatic A.

You do not need the book. Everything that you will be tested over is in his lectures. I LOVED his class. He is a funny and pretty laid back professor. You do have to study your notes to pass though and he does give some pop quizzes.

I am NOT a fan of history and I have never done well in the subject. However, Dr. Thompson's class was different. His lectures were very interesting and I found the information easy to remember. I would definitely recommend this course!

Dr. Thompson is hilarious. He knows how to make history come to life and always had my class laughing. He is very sarcastic and knows his stuff, however he is easy to understand. There is very little work because of such large classes, however if you pay attention and take notes, its an easy A.

His class is so much fun. I enjoyed listening to his lectures because they were informative, interesting, and funny. He engages the class and teaches you everything without overloading you with assignments. All I had to do was study, take a few tests, and write one paper. I love his setup!

Dr. Thompson is AMAZING! I have never enjoyed a history class until his. He lectures majority of the class period and likes participation. He has 3-4 test that are multiple choice with an essay and identifications. You will have to study, but It's not that hard.

I took this class going into freshmen year and loved it.. This dude had me cracking up every day off jokes about history.. who woulda thought. Great class, really informative lectures.

Dr. Thompson is the best teacher I have ever had. His classes were all lectures, except the four days we took tests. You must take notes because his tests are based on his notes and attendance is mandatory. He made the lectures fun and interesting and gave a few options for extra credit. Tests were easy, but you do need to study.

Classes are all lectures, which is fine and dandy, but that's just not my favorite style of learning. You cannot miss class, don't even consider it unless you have a friend that will let you get a copy of their notes to study, which you will have to do a lot of for exams. Papers are easy, just make them the required length and have sources.

Actually nervous at first when I took the course because it was my first lecture class, but as the semester went on, I realized that the class was very enjoyable and easy going. You don't need the book because all the criteria on tests/papers will be from the lecture.

Dr. Thompson gives incredible lectures and will randomly call on students to ask questions. He has a great sense of humor and makes many jokes that relate to his topic. He only assigned my class two papers and both of them were fairly easy. My only complaint is that he did not allow my class to use laptops and made us use pen and paper.

Awesome Prof! Loved taking this class. He is funny and jokes but teaches american history really well so that you enjoy it. He likes class participation and will call on people who don't always respond. He doesn't use slides so a recorded doesn't hurt or just take really good notes. His papers and tests are easy, but you need to study and try.

Extremely knowledgabe and very easy to work with.

His tests are based off of his notes, he did not use a power point so you need to listen. His GA was strict on grammer when it came to the papers. There were only two papers for the semester.

I have always been horrible at history, but Dr. T's witty sense of humor and love for History complete changed my outlook! Although his tests can be a bit complex to those who don't know how to take notes properly (as I was on the first 2 out 5 tests) rest assured! There are 2 papers to make up for poor grades! Awesome guy, awesome class, awesome!!

Wonderful professor!! Extremely knowledgeable and does a perfect job of explaining details and events to students. Witty, and downright hilarious at times. If you like history, you will love taking his class. There isn't a ton of work, but be detailed on tests and put all info you can. Absolutely worth taking. Hoping I can again in the future.

I took a wintermester class with him. A good professor, worked around Christmas time-frame, giving more time to study for exam. His instructions are quiet clear, read and make notes. Dates of events are very important in this class, make notes as you read through. A cool person, easy to work with, I would take his class again.

Majority of notes are given in lectures as the textbook is more supplementary than anything. The lectures are incredibly captivating as Dr. Thompson is an incredibly capable storyteller. He's got a great sense of humor and is more than willing to help you succeed in his class.

I'm terrible at retaining History info, he did an amazing job w/ his lectures. He goes very fast & through a lot, so never miss a class & take notes, or else you'll regret it. He cares about his students & wants them to pass, but don't take that for him making it easy. You must work for your grade. He is an amazing teacher though! Take his class!!

Very knowledgeable professor. The class is lecture heavy with some intermittent pop quizzes, so be prepared for those. He has a strict policy on electronics, so if you like to take notes with a laptop, you might consider someone else. He gives some E.C. opportunities, but your grade depends on your test scores. Study for those or you will NOT pass

Dr. Thompson is very passionate about history, and wants his students to succeed. Dr. Thompson uses PowerPoint, but most of his information comes from his lecture not PowerPoint. Strict attendance policy. No electronics. Grades on time. Very approachable guy. Very funny. You will read a lot of books. Wish I took more classes with him.

I took the online class over summer, and we only had 8 assignments, and if you actually tried, it was easy. He also kept us up to date on what was due when which was nice.

Great Professor but very heavy on lectures, only the material covered in lectures is on the test, no textbook used. He is really funny and makes class enjoyable, but strict on no use of electronics. Pretty easy class if you show up and study.

Great teacher and is keeps lectures extremely entertaining. Class is very hard if you do not take good notes but he does prepare you well. You do have to try very hard but he is always there to help.

Don't worry buying the book for this class, unless you really want to get into the course. There are 3 tests, a paper, a final, and all of the test are based off his in class lectures. The GA does all of the grading and he's a pretty tough grader so if you felt like you deserved a better grade just talk to Dr. Thompson. Prepare for pop quizzes.

A lot of information

Grades consisted of 4 tests and a research paper, plus several extra credit opportunities. Class had no homework or class work and he lectured every class period. Willing to help everyone out and was always super accessible from his email! Pretty funny and engaging! Must show up to class, attendance is taken every day and affects your final grade!

Professor Thompson was super chill! He wants his discussion boards to be lengthy and will give feedback when necessary. He provides extra credit a few times throughout the course.

You do have to READ in this class, if you do not read and do not read the lecture powerpoints provided you will NOT pass the tests. Other than that the discussion questions which are the only other work you have besides studying for the 4 exams you will have is it. They're short maybe a page, but you do have to do the work. Nice professor.

When I read the syllabus with all of his policies I was very nervous but he is now one of my favorites. He is very funny and enjoys having conversations with various viewpoints. He is super helpful when it comes to the paper and presentation. His tests require lots of detail but if you do the reading and study notes they are manageable.

Dr. Thompson lectures a lot but keeps it interesting and will take small breaks if needed. It is very important to take good notes and follow lectures. No phones. Definitely attend all classes. Need to study for hours for each exam. Offers tons of extra credit. Very nice and accessible if need to email or speak with him outside of class.

Amazing Professor! This was my first semester of college and I dont think I could have had a better professor for this course. Everything that was on the tests were in the lecture. He offered lots of chances to get extra credit. There was a research paper, but he did not grade harsh at all. Would take another course with him as the professor!

Very lecture-heavy, so take notes, but he makes them fun and entertaining. All the powerpoints are on D2L and if you take notes and take the time to study, you will pass the exams. He will never leave you in the dark and is very clear about his expectations and assignments. He is very caring and wants everyone to pass.

Was never a fan of history but he made me look forward to it each time. Dr. Thompson is a tough grader but he is reasonable. His feedback is clear and you will know exactly what to improve on next exam. This class is very engaging due to his lecture style and humor. Would absolutely recommend taking.

great professor take him if you can. he has a great sense of humor, very educated in his field. attendance isn't graded but it is more useful to go to class than catch up on the ppts. not sure if because he has a lot of freshmen or what but he does a lot of things like HS such as no phones & holds your hand thru the coursework. study & youll b fine

An extremely enjoyable teacher; I took more than once class with him. I'm a history major, but not of American history, yet I still enjoyed the class and did well. Goes through PowerPoints and lectures, often summarizing the long text on screen. Take notes. Takes attendance. Sometimes calls on for pop questions but that was only handful of times.
