Davies is awesome!

Had him for bus stats. Knows his stuff. Been in the real world adn knows whats what.

easy class, easy professor who can explain micro econ even to the dumbest person.

Prof Davies is the best! He is soo helpful, and even though his class is a bit tough, you learn a lot and he is willing to tutor you until you understand.

Very good teacher, but tests are difficult. Probably will not get an "A", but if you are willing to put the time in you will do okay.

Brilliant teacher. Totally approachable and helpful. Also, you'd be hardpressed to find a guy with a studlier beard than his. He makes the Brawny guy feel girlish.

davies is not an easy professor by any means but i learned a lot. i had him for both macro and micro and i like his teaching style. he is up till all hours of the night if you need help and he is very approachable and knows a lot about his subject matter. take him!

Extremely hard exams. Great teacher, great fun in class never boring. Always approachable alway available. i think i might have failed but i still think he's a great teacher.

Davies is a good professor I liked the way he taught and most other people like the way he teaches. However, the final is extremely hard but if you do your work you will be fine. Don't be afraid to ask him for help, he will be happy to give you help.

Davies made Macro relatively easy to understand. What drove me crazy, though, was the test questions didn't seem to have anything to do with what we took notes on in class. The same topics were covered by the tests, but in a totally different context and it was frustrating. Overall, a good professor

I loved Davies' class. I think he's a brilliant man and explained economics in a simplistic, informative way. (-: He inspired me to keep learning.

His tests are so out of his class topics. I mean, although it is take home tests, but, it is tough. And if you get one wrong in the tests, lets see...of 20 questions, he will deduct 1/4 out of the whole points. It is not fair...but, yea its how davies' grade.

I learned more in this one class than in past two years of college. Sit in front.

One of the best teachers that i had in school. Expands your horizons and makes you want to learn. Has the personality that can influene you and make you want to become better. Made me love Economics and see the awesome power that economics has.

By far the hardest class I have ever taken. Professor Davies is an amazing teacher. He inspires you to want to learn more. Very helpful, always e-mails back and has no problem explaining material if you need help. He assumes you know the material because you are supposed to read the book. Best professor I have at Duq!

This man is brilliant. Attendance isn't required yet 95% of the class shows up everyday. The homework is hard but he teaches extremely well which makes it easy to pay attention. By far the best professor I have had so far, and a sharp dresser. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Davies is the best teacher I have ever had. He will inspire you to want to learn more. His classes are actually fun. His tests are pretty much open book except for the final. TAKE HIS CLASS!

When he is willing to help, there is not one better...but at times he likes to go into hiding and never respond to e-mails...especially when a deadline is coming.

Yes he can be an ass, but it really says something to his awesomeness that most of the students (econ major students) don't mind. I can tell why a lot of people think he doesn't care about the students but I think he does. I've noticed that he sometimes go over problems related to the essay topics of people who are struggling with their papers.

Opened my mind to new ways of thinking.

other than how confusing his multiple choice can be, Davies is by far the best econ professor i have ever had. he's super detailed in the lecture and is clear when answering questions

Amazing! Really got me to enjoy micro. Almost makes me want to switch majors. when you pay attention, he seriously opens your mind to possibilities.

Davies is easily one of the two greatest professors I have ever had. That being said, 301 is not an easy class. Ace the oral exam and get constant feedback on your paper. Participation is also a really good idea.

He is easily one of the best teachers at duquesne. The material is hard but his lectures are THE BEST lectures I have ever come across. He wants to help his students so bad and he is very nice. No matter how hard his tests are or how hard the class is, I would take again 1million times for the lectures.

Davies lectures are the best. I was never board. Dont email him, you'll be disappointed. He's very helpful in his office hours.

The online homework is easy but the projects are hard. What's with an oral exam for stats?

I had davies for three years. Easily the best prof here.

Take this guy for stats. Hes the best teacher I've had here. The projects are real world problems.

I took him for MBA stats. I like his teaching style but some of the homework could be easier.

He is a nice guy and will help you if you need it. Lots of group work and no quizzes/exams. If you miss class you will struggle on the projects, but his lectures hardly ever take the whole time period. Take notes in excel - they will save you later.

Professor Davies is a solid guy who is available for help, if you need it. Our class was 100% discussion based, and he definitely makes you work for an A in the class. At first the grading criteria wasn't totally clear, but it got better as the class went along. Overall, I think Davies is a good professor, and I enjoyed the discussion based class.

Davies is incredibly hard yet inspiring. He's super smart & very articulate. You'll have to work your butt off -don't take him if you're lazy. He's a must for economics majors. This is the most useful Econ course and is very quantitative. You'll learn how to turn data into a useful tool & make arguments based on evidence. My favorite professor here

Prof. Davies is a great professor. But maybe, too good. His exams and were the hardest things I've ever had in my years in Duquesne. He is a good professor but he is blazing fast when explaining concepts. He also relies on our previous knowledge... Make sure you understand your statistics class and be good on the math (like equations and graphs).

Econometrics was the hardest class I've taken at Duquesne but Davies makes the lectures so interesting and enjoyable that the class was pretty easy. You will have weekly projects but you are allowed to work in groups which is very helpful. Final exam was optional.

Saying that Dr. Davies class was rigorous is an understatement, but I feel that I am a better student after taking it. His teaching is very thorough and he is a caring professor. Highly recommend taking his Econometrics class.

no real tests, you can work with partner on all of them. everything is through connect for HW and final or excel for the part 2 of tests. lectures only help with part 2 of the tests, and the connect assignments are just grade boosters. he gives 20 free "buffer points" so if you turn in all assignments on time you are almost guaranteed to pass

Professor Davies was great for statistics. He knew what he was talking and explained throughly. We use excel a lot and he teaches shortcuts which is very nice. All tests are take home on connect and another part on excel. He gives out points like crazy if you just engage in class. I highly recomend taking him for business stats.
