not very friendly. she doesnt explain or teach she just tells the class to open to for example pg 50 and do prob 1-25 and asks to then put on the board. doesnt explain things expects u to knwo them,not helpful at all makes math confusing when it rele isnt
this is my first semester and she is the WORST teacher i've ever seen she doe'snt teach at all she tells u 2 do 1,000 different problems then tells u 2 turn 2 the following pages she's such an air head....
She is very unclear. Unfortunately, I dropped the class. There was no sense, when the teacher doesn't teacher very clearly and explain her methods of how she gotten the answers. Stay far away from this class.
this teacher is beyond horrible, plan on retaking the course. if you do not want to waste a semester i suggest you do not take her. she needs to be fired. too many people are retaking mat 011 because of her, its sad. im warning you, do NOT take her!!! :(
I have to disagree. She has always been helpful during our class and stopped to explain if I had trouble. When I spoke to some other students in my class, they expressed that she was very helpful during office hours as well.

this teacher is horrible. I took her class last fall and i studied everything as hard as i could but she also didnt help. all she did was go through so many examples on the board. finally i had to drop the class and i gotta take it again ! :(

Do your homework, pay attention in class and show up and you'll do fine. She is a very nice person and has no patience for laziness (why should she?)If you do the work, you'll pass the test. If you have trouble, get help from a tutor.
I had no problem w/ her. She doesn't make it easy have to stay on your toes. If you're willing to do the work you won't have a problem.

this professor is very helpful and nice the people who don't like her are ignorant just look at the way they write if u do the homework u will pass if u need help get it from her or a tutor some students just won't do the extra work

The worst profesor I ever had. She is very fast and she makes fun of the classmates. Everytime somebody had a question she would give us a sarcastic laugh. She is very negative, from the beginning of the course she was telling everybody that we were going to fail. I dont understand why the college still let her teach.

If you're willing to learn then she's a great teacher but if you just want a given A then don't take her. She's very clear and does everything she can to help you pass the test. I had her for 1 semester and would love to have her again she made me see Math in a whole different way. If you do the homework and keep up then you'll do great.

No concept of material, no control of the class, rude to students. Doesnt tell you the work you missed if you are absent (even if its excused) [makes you ask other students]. Heavy accent. Long lectures full of mistakes (no grasp of material). Will try to joke with you, but is offended if you joke back. Ignores students she doesnt like. You must have 70+ as a test grade to pass her class (could be a departmental standard), or buying that). Hates students who know information before she teaches it.

I think that she is a good teacher. She comes off mean at first, but after the second test she starts to relax more. She is hard but fair, if you work in her class you will get a good grade. She is a teacher meant for the more serious students.

She shouldn't be getting bad ratings; she is very good as long as you PAY ATTENTION and don't slack off in class. She is very helpful, will come to your seat and explain the material if you are having difficulty. Sit towards the front of the classroom and you'll easily get an A or B in the class!
No matter where you sit in the class, even if its in the FRONT or in the BACK, she will give you an F because I received an F from her. This is coming from an Honor's Student. Believe me I repeated this class with a different prof. and I received an A. I always pay attention, but what i did wrong i'm not sure...she failed me.
She's a great professor, very fair with the students, but if you don't know what's 2+2, don't expect to pass the class, she teaches algebra not high school math. You can pass her test with an A if you pay attention, she's really good.

She will give several chapters to study for a given exam, but will only ask few questions.The way she phrases the questions on the exams is very ambigious,much harder than need be. She will NOT even give sample problems to the students that are in the same realm of those to be on the test. This is not for a lack of studying or tutoring sessions.

A nice woman, but not a particularly good teacher. She goes through the material EXTREMELY quickly -- which isn't easy if you struggle with math to begin with (like I do!). Also, her thick accent can make her hard to understand at times. I'm normally a straight A+ student, but I'm really struggling in her class... I don't recommend her.

Horrible teacher. I am usually a straight A student but i struggled horribly in her class. Very hard to understand and goes very quick. She expects you to know the material.
I must admit, at first I thought this would be another math class I would merely flop through, but I actually learned a lot. I came to every single class which helped also, did all the homework, and passed every test, she was extremely helpful and even though she is quick if I can learn and get an A then she's gotta be pretty damn good!
Anu Srinivasan is a nice lady, but unfortunately she has not helped me learn new things. She flies through everything before I can learn anything. If you a struggling math student and need to learn and get a passing grade, I do not recommend this teacher.

Please do not take this class even if it is your last resort. I do not know she managed to get hired but she did and now she is wasting so much time of a lot of student every semester by teaching information that is wrong and then apologizes next day when she realizes her mistake. Prof. Srinivasan is not as bad as they say, there was actually no communication problems, but the class was a bit difficult for me. She is a bit fast paced, but if she sees her students putting forth effort, she will do the same. Otherwise I really hate math, and thank goodness it's over!!
She is a great professor! The comment about her flying through the material, must have been the Summer I class, and there was a reason for that, not her fault. If you tried your best, your would have done well. I am not a math person, but I worked my but off and got an A. She really cares about her students and wants to see them pass.
I had her for 031 and 032. If you are not good at math do not take her during the summer. She does go fast and the summer class is an accelerated program. That being said she is not horrible. She does have a sense of humor. And if you try she will give you extra help. Expect to spend time in tutoring if math isn't your strong point.
BCC's math department has had an awful reputation in the past couple of years. With awful teachers like Srinivasan however it's easy to see why. This lady flies through everything and never goes over anything with anyone, and is never available to help anyone. Do not take her. Period.

i was in EBS and didnt belong so the material was extremely easy. unfortunately it is true she does speed through but its such basic stuff i dont blame her. but she always asks if anybody needs help and when no one says yes it can be very hard for her to help you. so if you are having trouble ask for help and shell be more than happy too. =]

I've been lucky enough to have two of the best math professors at bergen. She is extremely helpful, and doesnt mind doing extra work to help you as long as you show her your trying. She's got a sense of humor, and although she covers stuff fast she doesnt mind going over something 800 times until you understand it. I would def take her again!

never had more problems with a teacher before. if you get extended time dont expect her to follow it. if you get to use a calculater she will not let you. she gave me an E grade because she hated me. i had to fight and prove that i was in class and finally she gave me an A.. it took until the end of my second semester for her to finally grade me.
I am horribble in math. But I did enjoy this class. The Prof may seem like shes "hard" or "mean" but she really is not.It is all up to the student. You really have to push yourself and not give up. She is extremely helpful and this class helped me freshen up on Math. I would take Math again with this Prof. Homework is done online!
A fantastic professor and I am so glad that I didn't drop her class. I read all of the comments on here and I know I am not good at math. But I am so glad I didn't cave in to what I read. It was a great experience having her and she is totally awesome. I learned so much in her class. And I passed with a B :o)
She is horrible. The way she teaches is very poor, she does not explain the exercises to the class, she just does it without stop eventhough, the student are not understanding the class. She does not help the student to understand the class. She grades students differently by giving partial credit to some students and not to others she is not fair.
This professor is great, I couldn't believe the comments that I just seen. I think the reason why everyone says that she is hard is because she actually teaches you to learn unlike many other math teachers. Take her but be prepared to learn and yes no calculators, we are not in high school.
Her class is extreamly hard. I'm lucky enough to pass with a C+. I worked hard studied. Basicly im not a slacker but her class was challengeing. teachs a chapter a day gives one example of everything she teachs. It was complicated.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. She sat in front of the room and mocked our tests while grading them. The class high for that test was a 65. You have to teach yourself, she pretty much refuses to answer any questions you ask. Her response is usually "you should know." There are other teachers for this class, take it with one of them
Extremely tough grader. Takes off for the smallest of mistakes. Is extremely bias and centered in her own perception of people. If she does not like you, right off the bat, expect to be in for a rude, nauseating, snippy semester with her. She will not work with you at all to help you improve your grade. I busted my ass for a C+, no EC or real help

She's difficult I won't lie, especially on her tests, you need to be a very diligent student in her class. My advice: STUDY YOUR BRAINS OUT!! She finds some way to make what's very easy into something rather difficult, specifically on her quizes and tests.

I am really enjoying this class
I am currently taking this class now and let me say she is extremely strict. She barely cracks a smile, and has a very low tolerance. I take tons of notes, copy every example she puts on the board but I feel lost even when I'm giving her my full undivided attention. She expects way too much out of her students and covers materials way too fast.
I just finished my spring semester with her and it is a very tough class. She may seem mean, but she really does care about the students. She dropped my lowest test grade, which significantly helped me. Do all the homework assignments, I can not stress because it will help you especially on the tests! Overall if you work hard, she will pass you.
Do not take if your expecting a class where the professor explains things. All she does is have you memorize and does not teach the material well.
I don't recommend to others. Take her if you've already knew stuffs well. Do not spend your money on her class.
I went to the tutoring center for help. My tutor said she's really annoyed with those complicated method. I also agree because the way she taught is different from the book. She put all work on board so quick without explaining step by step. It was horrible to sit in her class.
I don't have attitude but honestly, she's really annoyed. I respected her since she's an instructor and I paid for class. What I got is unprofessional teaching and incompleted lesson. Most of people don't care for the grade because of transfer. I feel this is an unfaired treatment that the department let us have her class.

The department should take consideration. Her lecture is unclear and so many things that different from the book. If you use the book and follow the book, you'll fail. The department should ask from the tutor, I met 2-3 tutors, and they all said her lecturer is weird and they did not do the same way.

This poor teacher has terrible ratings and its not fair after all this is BCC & most students want easy A but I guess bc she doesn't take any cheese from anyone they cry she isnt easy. Great teacher!!!! I was skeptical on taking her class after reading so many bad reviews, but she was amazing! She was very clear on what's expected of you, didn't throw any surprises. She also gives you everything you need to succeed. No need to self teach, which is what I felt I had to do with other math teachers at this college.
I did really well in this class but that does not mean she was a good professor. The entire class we just did practice problems and she often contradicted herself and made it rather confusing for many students. She also made use of those make up days at the end of the semester and gave us our final one week late when we only missed one class.
She's smart and knows the process, but lacks on explaining the math process to students. She will show you an example and make you figure it out the rest by yourself. She moves at a fast pace and copies problems directly from the textbook. You need to speak up if you're lost, she will leave you behind. Most of the verbal instructions and help came from the SI. Unless you're quick and can understand by watching someone else solve a problem, you will need tutoring/assistance.
I decided to take her for MAT-130 and wanted to give her a chance but she is extremely difficult! She is so fast-paced explains one problem and quickly moves on to a whole different problem. I was so confused in her class and ended up dropping her class just 3 weeks in to the fall semester.
She is so rude and I never complain about professors but this one believe me she is something else she demands you to be an excellent student meanwhile she doesn't explain nothing she just goes over some homework's and thinks we know statistics from elementary school. I had to take some tutoring sessions to be able to understand basic stuff.

Often refused to grade work/tests because she didn't like the format the photo was submitted as, or if the picture was rotated(no joke). If youre not a math person, spare yourself and dont take her class or else youll end up teaching yourself. She doesnt take the time to explain anything and if you dont understand something she will get angry and leave you behind. I lost a family member to covid and she scolded me for missing a class & didnt accept the late assignment. Awful!
Legitimately the worst professor I've had at Bergen. She goes at a very fast pace, does not explain anything clearly, and does not seem to care if you are left behind. The only reason I passed was because of Youtube. Yikes.
I will be honest please follow the rate on this professor. Pros she will come in at times before class starts to answer questions. Cons, she teaches very quick every single time someone had to state may you please slow down, when you state to her if she can go over something, it seems to annoy her and states and will never help you understand. I do not recommend you take her class. During Covid she was very impatient and not understanding at all. If you asked questions she made you seem slow for not understanding quick enough. She scolded the class for not doing work and for other various reasons. She is very late on grading. Got mad for having to grade the work she gave us.
I just would like to warn everyone that this Professor is waste of time and your money. After first class Ive spent whole day watching YouTube videos just to do the homework. She is very rude, nontransparent claims there is no final exam but two weeks later surprise you with huge project due at the end of the semester. Stay away
A lot to say about this professor, but most importantly do NOT take her class. her teaching style is dog water. I left the class not retaining anything because she never teaches concepts and leaves everyone confused. Not understanding over late work during the pandemic. Late to class all the time and also leaves class early. Rude to students.
WORST professor I've ever had. Extremely rude to students, she will embarrass you in front of the class if you ask a question. Doesn't take the time to explain anything but expects you to know it. I spent hours watching youtube tutorials just to do the homework. LOTS of homework and quizzes, 4 exams, and a huge project at the end of the semester.
It's shameful that she calls herself a professor. I did not learn a single thing the entire semester. She talks down to students who need a little extra help and will publicly shame anyone who asks questions. A waste of time and money, I got a better education from YouTube than I did in her class.
This professor needs to take a class on how to properly teach a class. Horrible teacher with lots of homework. Don't make the mistake I made and take her class, you will regret it. The only reason I'm passing this class is because of youtube.
