Professor Iyengar held a really fun yet informative class. Since it was Group Com, she really emphasized working as groups and doing various exercises and games. The workload was a breeze, just make sure you take the notes because she lets you use them on the tests. Highly recommended.

Prof. Iyengar is awesome. She is young, cool and really knows her stuff. I would seriously recommend her class to everyone!

I had Ms. Iyengar for Public Speaking, a class I was dreading until I took it with her. She made it a lot of fun with interesting stories and examples. Everyone got a chance to speak everyday either for impromptus or question of the day. Take good notes because she lets you use them on the Midterm and Final

I took Anya's Small Group class, not knowing what to expect. So far, I'm loving it. She makes lectures fun with her stories and examples that realate to pop culture, and she is very up on things. She is strict on attendance though, so don't miss too many classes. It's a fun class, and I would totally recommend it.

I'm currently taking Professor Iyengar's Small Group class, and I love it! There is a lot of group work, but I have a great group which helps. Prof. Iyengar is really cool and pretty and makes the class interesting with videos, movies and games plus group exercises. I would recommend this class to everyone. It is a fun and easy 'A'.

Anya is amazing! I had such a great experience in her class. She is fun, interesting and makes public speaking actually seem enjoyable. Her lectures are never dry, because she uses a lot of videos and examples to highlight points. I have come away from this class, so much more confident as a speaker. Taking Anya's class was a fortunate decision. Her class opened me up to enjoy the subject and to speak publically with ease. She is a wonderful individual to get to know, I saw her put her heart into everything she taught, it was a true honor and a wonderful experience that I have taken with me. Attendance is mandatory, but you honestly WANT to come to her classes, they are so enjoyable. Even lectures were interesting. A must take class.

I really had no interest in small group communications before I took this class. So I was surprised by how much fun I had. Prof made it interesting with videos, games, activities, a lot of group work. Plus lectures were interesting, not boring. And yeah, I agree with the others, she wasn't bad to look at either!

Very nice teacher. Miss Anya was helpful and encouraging, especially if you are an ESL student or having problems with work and school. She was always fair, and made us comfortable in the class. At the end of the class, we were like a family. I recommend her for anyone scared of public speaking.

If you want an easy class when your taking a lot of other classes then this is your class. She posts the notes online so you don't have to write them out and test questions are taken right from the notes. Also as others said its open note, open book tests and her projects are easy. The toughest thing I had was to deal with my group. A+ over all!

The best decision I made was to take Anya's Oral Comms class. I learned so much from her about how to conduct myself in front of a group. She has so much poise and style that you will find yourself learning much more than just how to give a speech, but also how to look and feel confident about yourself. Fantastic class, reco everyone to take it.

I'm a student at SJSU and City College, and Anya's class is by far the best class I've taken at either school. She makes it a fun class where you learn a lot, but you also get something out of it. I've honestly never loved a class as much as this one. It's been a month and I still miss my beautiful teacher and our awesome class too.

Anya was the best professor I've had at City. She's way different from most professors because she involves the class a lot during her lectures, which are always super funny and interesting. She is young so she disusses topics that we can relate to. Speeches are a breeze. And she is super pretty too =) Makes waking up for a 7:45am class way easier!

If you are scared to take Public Speaking, this is the class for you. Anya has a different style from most teachers. You learn to speak without the pressure of time or any cards held up telling you what your doing wrong. She was always cheerful and upbeat, flashing that megawatt smile of hers ;) She makes you feel good about yourself!

Holy smokes this teacher is hot!! Had her for the first class today and I can already tell I'm going to love it. She seems pretty laid back, has us do some cool activities to get to know eachother. Saw her today the first the time in 3 years. Hated communications before I took her class. I took her class back in Fall '09. I couldn't believe it--she remembered my name and even some of the speeches I gave!! It's true what other have said--you never will forget her.

The thing that makes Anya such a unique teacher is that she is not afraid to show her human side. She cried in class when someone gave a really touching speech. That's who she is. She's not some ice princess that you can't talk to. She is very down to earth and she makes you feel like you can be yourself and not be ashamed of who you are.

But I agree that it is sometimes easy to forget that she's a prof because she's young and pretty and very cool. Some people try and take advantage & make inapp comments in class. NOT cool. She is open and giving and shares her knowledge with her students and never has an attitude. I took this class twice before and hated my previous teachers. So glad I finally got to take it with Anya. Anya's one of the most caring, patient and genorous teachers I've ever had. she shared so much of herself to help us build our confidence and overcome our insecurities. I felt scared when I started the class but felt 1000x more confident by the end of the class. We all became close like a family and she was always motivating us to do our best.

Anya incorporates student participation in with every lecture, but do not fret the topics of discussion are always fun and interesting. Young and hip she is so no boring talk in this class. Just be prepared during oral presentations and take her critiques seriously.

Anya is such a chill and easygoing professor it's impossible not to love her or her class. She puts up with way more than she should have to though, like slacker students who don't show up or come late just cause it's a 7:45class. She deserves respect. She's a super cool teacher and a very fair grader. She's big on attendance so if you want an A make sure not to miss to many classes or come late all the time. Class was always interesting, she doesn't lecture to much lots of activities and involvement from the class. Overall good class and great teacher.

Anya is a very understanding and fair teacher. She is young so she relates well to college students and doesn't make the class too hard or give too much homework. But we still learn a lot. She's super funny and shows a lot of videos and short clips to help us understand ideas better--visual learning. I love her style and the class as a whole.

She makes the three speeches really easy topics, and the grading isn't too hard as long as you put effort into it. Online activities will be annoying, but in class is really nice. She really relates to students and understands that a lot of students are afraid of this class.

She gets how scary this class can be for us & makes a lot of effort to help students feel better and more comfortable. Never talks down to anyone or makes them feel bad about asking a question. I am not a morning person at all, but I can honestly Anya made waking up early so worthwhile. She is very smart and energetic and really pulls people out of their shell to get everyone to talk. The atmosphere in class is light and informal but she's very organized and quick with giving feedback and grading, She's very stylish and elegante too.

I wish she taught more communications classes though bc so far this is the only one I've seen her teach and if your a COMS major than you have to take 10/40/45, and 18/35 and she doesn't teach any of those classes that I know of.

It's really hard to get Ms Anya's classes but once you get it, stay in. DO NOT SKIP CLASS AND GET DROPPED! Her classes are the best way to improve your GPA bc she's a fair grader. But you won't pass if you skip/ don't do your work. It's only an easy A if you come regularly and actually do your work. But the speeches are not hard. My favorite class.

I had no problems with the professor, but I didn't like the class because I would get stuck in really bad groups. There's no textbook and the final super easy.

I absolutely hate communication classes because I am too shy to speak in front of others, but Anya made it so easy. she eases you into it and honestly as long as you show up and participate you can pass. I almost wish I was a COMM major so I could take her class again. Don't be intimidated by the 7:30 AM class--just take it. You will not regret it.

Amazing professor!! This class is so easy. I was nervous about taking a public speaking class but professor iyengar made the class feel super comfortable by not making the class or assignments too serious. The most stressful part of this class was if you got a group that didn't work together for projects.
