She is one of the best overall teachers in the school. She is thorough and treats the students with respect. She unlike most of the "Professors" @ BMCC actually cares about the student. Be happy if you get her, because of the teachers are lacking at best.

April is an excelent teacher. She makes you think. That's what we can really call education, students are stimulated to use their brains insted to learn formulas and copy old boring stuff. Take her class. Super sweet, democratic and inteligent person!!

I took Prof Andres' class in the Summer '06. She really is straight foward. She tells you exactly what she wants. At first it seemed too easy, to be true. But, all she wants is what she literally spells out for you. I highly reccomend her. I got a B+. I could have received a higher grade if, I would have put more effort. Take her class!!!

April is a very easy going professor. She enjoys when you particpate and ask questions in class. The kind of person who is cool yet can be strick when necessary. April is one professor that you would wish she teach all your classes.

April is a very good english teacher who is genuinely interested in the Students development and wellbeing. Her style is laid back / relaxed which suits me very well.

There is a departmental final for all ENG 101 classes. She spends the entire semester preparing you for that final. She can be scatterbrained when discussing essays, but she will go out of her way to help, and expects you to speak up if you're lost. ESL wallflowers beware - she will put you in the front for your own good, she wants you to do well.

Very fun, laid back prof She emphasizes on a template to follow and focuses on preparing for Eng dept's final but the grades on her assignments hardly weigh against the grade of your final. I got nearly all A's on her essays but got C on final cuz of time limit & ended with B- for the class. Felt like my effort during the semester was all wasted

April was a very helpful teacher...she made sure to get her point across as far as what exactly she wanted from her students...i got an an A- and appreciated it very much...Love her! she's the best

Her methods are unusual, we can start sentences with "but" and "And" everything that I learned from HS went out the window. Follow her format, do not try to be creative!!! this is ENG 101! Once you learn to follow her template than you can become a little more creative. I love her! At first i wanted to drop her, but I'm glad i didn't. I got an A

prof. April is an ok prof. she seems to be a fair grader, however sometimes i thought she grades you if you have written what she likes and not what you like. she is picky, meaning that she will tell you, you could,ve said this instead of that. i would suggest her to those whose primary language is Enlish, but not really to those who it is not.

Taken the summer course with professor Andres, and enjoyed it. She comes across very clearly & gets you to dissect the readings to understand the material well. Some may find her unfair in grading, but she'll surely get you to improve your writing skills. Her laid back approach in class discussions is also welcoming.

She is the besy professor I ever had at BMCC. April thoroughly prepares you for the English department final by teaching you the template of the thesis and supporting paragraphs. I wish she taught Eng 201 more often, because I would take her for Spring 2013. The class often had great debates /gender and race. I feel she is amazing and so laid-back.

Kool professor. Two essays are required as reference for the Finals. Went through all the key points and used real life events to relate to the materials. Not much focus on grammar or spelling. No Home work but you are required to write papers for her in class to help prepare for finals. Very helpful and focuses on the format of writing an essay.

She doesn't teach anything, she just go to the classroom talks about her cat and dismiss early!! For me she isn't a good prof, maybe for other yes!

Super awesome professor who is very passionate about her a work. she doesn't micro manage you and you have to show interest and do your work. Professor Andres is a really nice professor. Many times she'd ask the class if we'd like to go on trips, or leave early. Throughout the semester I've had a total of 4-5 research papers and NO EXAMS. She allowed students who got a bad grade to redo it. I've contacted her whenever I had a quesstion, and she'd reply immediate.

I loved this professor! Her personality is great, and throughout the semester we only did 3-4 research papers and for our "final" we had the option to do a play or write another research paper. She didn't give no exams at all! Make sure to turn in your essays on time because she will deduct a grade letter.

Very sweet professor! She's caring, real and clear about her expectations. You have to write 4 papers/essays and a write a play. Her class was fun and she made it interesting. She even took us on field trips. I'm not an Eng person more into Science and Math, but I enjoyed her class. Participation matters, be there on time, and do the work.

She is absolutely wonderful, fun, creative and very interesting. She takes attendance everyday and make sure you hand in your assignments, if your going to be out hand it in a day early. This professor is awesome and friendly to students. However, she can be boring when she read the book, but at she least lets the class leave early every time which is a good thing. Also, this class is super easy just hand in your work and you will get an A.

I am currently taking her class, she is an amazing professor! She takes us on class trips and makes the lectures engaging and fun. She lets us out early almost every class and is available to talk and discuss your grades. She is a tough grader but makes it very clear of what is expected from you.

First impression isn't the best until the end. She cares if you care. Basically by showing up to class everyday early asking questions. If you want to pass and get a good grade on the Essays just go to class to do the drafts and then ask her questions about your essay! Follow her instructions and you'll be great! The extra credit is your attendance

April has changed me life about writing. I loved this class . I would come to class and it was like we all were family. She takes you on class trips. I would take her all over again. She will do everything she can to help you. Make sure you do the work and you will get the grade you want if you put the effort in. If I was you I would take her.

Professor April is so knowledgeable, and knows her work. I took her in the summer, and after one class with her, I can write a research paper in the blink of an eye, plus write a good introduction and a powerful thesis. I would recommend her class to anyone who wants to learn.

This Professor is by far one of the best. I do highly recommend this professor to anyone. Do all your work on time and read all the material she provides, and the essays should go smooth. Also, participate and do all her discussion boards. If you put a little dedication you should be fine in passing her class with an amazing grade.

I had professor Andres as an asynchronous class. Her work was straightforward, but she was always available for clarification through email or Zoom. When in doubt, ASK. Her assignments were interesting to read. In terms of grading, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and finish your papers/discussion board ON TIME.

TAKE HER!!! She only gives out 4 papers throughout the semester and some assignments here and there. DB's are important but are easy. Anyone who is complaining clearly didn't do all the work. Complete your assignments on time Easy A!! She's also very sweet and understanding.

She gives clear details of what she wants when you write an essay, if you don't follow those details you will lose points easily. Do your discussion board on time it can help in your final grade and she is also helpful outside of the classroom if you don't understand something you can contact her she'll explain it for you.

She is very kind and ends class very early. Always gives us the opportunity to ask questions. Assignments are pretty easy. However, she doesn't do weekly folders where you can click and everything is there. Therefore, it is a bit all over the place, but you can get the hang of it. She also gives a lot of docs to download, so keep that in mind.

Professor Andres is a very good professor and is very simple in how she wants her students to show their work in the essay. This class can help you write more than 3 pages with ease! The topics she wants you to write about are not hard as well. If I could take more English classes I would with her. Ask questions and she will answer them.
