Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful professor! Clear on assignments, helpful and knowledgeable, easy quizzes and discussions. Could not ask for a better professor! Take her, you won't regret it!
I OOK THIS CLASS ONLINE AND WOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RECCOMEND ANYONE TAKE THIS CLASS. SHE IS IMPOSSIBLY HARD ON HER TESTS. THERE ARE TRICK QUESTIONS AND ONES THAT ARE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ANSWER. I TOOK THE LAST TEST FOR 4 HOURS USING THE BOOK AND GOT A 74!!!! I'M AN HONOR STUDENT WITH A 3.5 GPA SO IT'S NOT ME... IT'S THE TEACHER.
Took this class online and it kinda difficult. Tons of reading. 4 test which are hard. quiz for every chp., but usually follows book. I would recommed taking on campus
Great in the beginning...but quickly faded. Seeking a degree herself & its obvious she cares more for that than for you seeking yours. Never online, takes forever to respond. Takes MONTHS to grade assignments. Tests are extremely difficult. Take with caution.
I am so annoyed with the "A" student that claimed it's Mrs. Crisp and not her for her making the grade she did. I was totally freaking out when I read that. I am taking her online right now, and I too am an "A" student. I think it's a fair class with plenty of opportunity to get an A, I am.
Great teacher. Very understanding and gave you time to complete your assignments. Quizzes and test were not hard, you have a book right there where it comes from. Yes there were tricky questions but not every single one was. I would recommend her to anyone.
She is amazing and will work with you.
I took online abnormal psych with Mrs. Crisp and I thought that class was very nicely laid out/constructed. Her quizzes and tests both came straight from the book (I didn't see a lot of trick questions, you just need to be a thorough reader). Apart from tests/quizzes, you have discussion questions and 2 replies which are pretty straight forward.
Online class, mini-semester, a lot of work, but she is very helpful. Send her an email asking her what she thinks about your postings and she will tell you what she wants. You need the book. A lot of work but I got an A.
Use the companion site for studying for weekly quizzes and exams. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
Ms.Crips is a very good teacher and I will definetly recommend her to my friends. she gives extra credit and gives you time to do your test and exams. Nice online class for me, hope you check her out.
Took her online for Abnormal Psychology she was very helpful
Excellent online prof. Gives lots of extra credit and is very understanding. You have to read the entire book and there is a quiz and discussion after every chapter. Easy A
Everything comes out of the textbook, so you're going to spend a lot of time with it. Class isn't too difficult, as long as you put time into the discussions and also use your textbook to find everything. She is pretty good at responding to emails (around 2 adys).
Easy, easy A. You don't really hear from her too much throughout the semester but her tests are straight from the book and there are discussion questions and quizzes weekly. She even offers extra credit. Put in a decent effort and you'll get an A.
Just be sure to do the discussions and follow the book and you will be fine. Opportunities for extra credit too. No excuse for not getting an A in this class.
Took her for Psychology earlier this year. The class is pretty easy. There are 15 chapters in the book and 15 quizzes, plus a few exams. There is also a paper at the end, and she offers extra credit. You will definitely be using the book a lot as the questions from the quizzes are right out of it.
Took abnormal psych online summer. The bookstore sent the wrong book to half the class, she was supposed to teach from both and didn't. I had a horrible time doing TONS of extra work becuase of her NON caring attitude on the problem. She was extremely unprofessional about it.
great teacher. use your book and read. she uses the textbook alot. you have discussions each week and quizzes each week
The best online course I've taken so far. Mrs. Crisp is very helpful and very easy to get in contact with. Always willing to help and always nice. I definitely recommend her class.
She is the absolute best when it comes to online classes. She made the class interesting. It's a lot of work because I did the minimester, but she was so helpful and understanding the whole way through. If you have to take Abnormal Psychology, take her class, you'll be happy that you did!
Dr. Crisp is one of the best online teachers that I have ever had. She is nice and very helpful. There are fifteen quizzes, three tests, and one cumulative exam. She drops the lowest of four quizzes and there is an extra credit opportunity up to 20 points. I recommend taking her. Easy A if you do your part.
Wow, um A LOT of work. 30 or more pages a week. Quiz every week. Some of quiz questions are NOT in the textbook. She requires a full essay to answer discussion questions and 2 long paragraphs to answer 2 posts. Very HARD grader, takes points off very easily. DON'T TAKE!! Responds quickly but so not worth it. Love psychology now I hate it. A shame.
I really loved Psychology before this class. Most of the questions on the quizzes are not in the notes or book. She requires a full essay for each DQ post and response. Not very fast at responding to emails compared to other teachers. She is constantly forgetting to post certain information needed for the chapters.
I am an honor student with a 3.8 cumulative, and I hold an AA in psych. The five letter word for this instructor is....SUCKS!!! response time(sucks), quizzes and db(sucks), exams...totally outside of the assigned material, but can be found in the text(sucks). Got an A, because of me! She must have posted these praises. believe me,they are not VALID
Wow, the things people say on here are not true! Yes she does make us write dicussion questions and it does state to write like an essay, but i only wrote like a paragraph for all of the DQ and i got 100 on all. And the answers to the questions in the quiz are IN THE BOOK! The only time i ever picked up the book was for the quiz!
Professor Crisp is ok but my biggest problems are her delay in grading and responding to emails and how incredibly hard she grades on the DQ. I mean it takes her weeks, sometimes months, to grade stuff. A chapter a week, quizzez each week, she gives extra credit, an experimental paper and final, no midterm.
I know that Mrs. Crisp has several classes, but it seems as if she wasn't present. Weeks would go by and there would be no sign of her whether it be returning grades or even making announcements. When the discussion grades were finally posted (in lump sums), it seemed as if she didn't really read them-things I really elaborated on got lower grade
She is a great teacher and if you do your discussions, quizzes, and test you will get a good grade. She also give you extra credit and bonus point. I HIGHLY recommend her. Just don't miss more than 3 weeks worth of work!!
This professor is awesome!!! There is one DQ a week with two responses and one quiz. The DQ's are supposed to be essay length which really isn't that hard to do. There are three test with the last one being the final and a common course assessment. If you do your work like you are supposed to you will get an A. You will use your book!
I had Professor Criosp for Abnormal Psych. It was an interesting class and not too hard. The instructions were clear, and extra credit is given. She is helpful when asked. I got an A in the class!
Helps you out alot. Make sure you do discussion questions and you will have a good chance of passing. She drops low quiz grades too.
Took the online class - SO boring! Maybe the online forum just isn't for me, but it was all reading from the text and then answering discussion questions plus the weekly quizzes each week. If you can't get an 'A' in her online class, you prob shouldn't be in college. Easy 'A' if you do the work exactly as she tells you to! Wouldn't take again.
I really enjoyed taking this class. Weekly discussions with one main post and two peer replys. There was an essay and extra credit paper due at the end. Weekly quizes on the chapters. Easy A. I would take her again.
This class is very easy- you should not make less than a B. Each week there's one discussion with 2 peer replies and one quiz. She's not very active on the discussions. There are 3 tests (including final). However, if you really want to learn ab psych I would take another teacher or take it on campus. I really don't feel like I learned anything.
I had Mrs. Crisp online, which the class was ok, I got a B out of it. Some of the discussions were kind of confusing, but I made it anyway. She is not very active online and I didn't like to find points off the discussions and not know why. There is space to tell students why this or that. Other than that I think she was a pretty good to take.
This is a very easy class. 1 discussion and 1 quiz every week, with 3 exams (including final). I never read the book- just skimmed and scanned it for discussions, quizzes and tests. She's not on the discussion boards much, but if you ask her a question she responds fairly quickly. If you're looking for an easy A, this is it.
Post your discussion by Wednesday and 2 responses by the end of the week. Easy 20 points per discussion post. Tests and quizzes from book. One project Essay style. It is individuals that complain that don't do well. This is college folks. Easy A if you read instructions.
What can I say? She is awesome, probably the best online professor I have had so far. Post your discussion every Wednesday, Complete a quiz on Sunday of that week. There are 3 tests, which are easy right from the book. Gives lots of extra credit, 1 essay at the end of the semester. She even gives you bonus points if you do better on the next test.
Professor Crisp is the best. She is laid back but at the same time you will learn a lot. Also, she is very fast at answering emails and it very courteous. Easy A, I wish all online professors could learn from her.
Learned a lot and great online format. Grades only the highest 10 scores on quizzes of which there are 16. Most of the points needed come from discussion. As long as there are close to 250-300 words, will get a good grade. Gives bonus points on test grades progression throughout semester. Would def take again!
I enjoyed taking this class. Everything is outlined. The quizzes are tests are pretty easy. 1 quiz per week and discussion questions weekly. She grades fair. I would highly recommend this class. I got an B.
took online. 1 quiz, 1 disc post and 2 replies per week (1 chapter a week). 3 exams and a 4 pg case study. quizzes and exams straight from book with a 2 hour time limit to answer 10 questions. Discussions are graded a little tough but the quizzes will offset that. Good communication. Easy A or B.
Prof. Crisp was very straight forward about what she wanted. Took her online. Two weekly quizzes and discussions, three tests, one small paper. Very fair grader. Responds quickly to email. Totally recommend!
Professor Crip is wonderful! I highly recommend her online class. The assignments are clear and interesting. Make sure you read chapters each week. Discussion questions are very thought-provoking. test are multiple choice and I only had to do one paper. She is fair when given grades and gives a extra credit assigment.
So I've never taken online classes before, but Professor Crisp made it extremely easy for me to grasp the concept of online classes! She is very up front about her assignments! Overall, the class was awesome!
1 quiz & DQ per week, 3 tests (she gives you 4 hrs to submit each test, which is enough time to google and/or look in the book for the answer) and a paper. Plus she drops your four lowest quizzes (2 hrs to take those) I honestly gave a 50% effort in this class and came out with an A! If you are looking for an EASY A this is it!!!
Took this class online during a summer semester and made an A. She is not super involved in the discussions but grades quickly and is there if you need her. Allows ample time for test, if you study and do the work you will make an A
Class was pretty easy. She gives you plenty of time for quizzes and tests. The tests are the same questions from your quizzes, so just study those for the test. However, she expects essay length, very detailed discussion questions and sometimes they are a little intense. My suggestion...read the discussion before the chapter. Also a paper to write.
Took this class online.Plenty of time on quizzes and tests but she expects essay length and very detailed discussion questions and they count for a big part of your grade. Do the work and you will do well. Tough class to take in the summer with other classes. Alone it would be fine.
April Crisp is very straightforward and by the book. This online class was very easy. 1 quiz per week, discussion questions and 3 one page essays. Do the assignments and you are sure to get your easy A.
If you hate writing long winded essays on the weekly bases then I do not recommend this class at all be prepared to write 7-8 paragraghs twice a week. then another 2 paragraph in response to your classmates. so make that another 2 bc you have 2-3 discussions a week. total bs for someone taking a full load in the summer.
This course was easy but the weekly discussions were lengthy. She grades a little hard on the variable paper, but other than that an easy A.
Mrs. Crisp is wonderful. Her class is straight forward and organized. If you read the text, you should be fine. There is a good bit of discussion posts and writing during the weeks, but it's not hard. Weekly quizzes, four tests, one paper and a final. BOOM! A+
I really enjoyed taking professor Crisp's abnormal psychology class. Everything was clearly explained and you will do fine if stay on top of the quizzes and discussions.
She didn't really teach anything. All I did in her class was read the book and take a quiz on each chapter. If you read the chapters, you should be fine. We also take a few tests and write a paper at the end of the term. She is pretty easy going.
She was understanding and willing to answer any questions you may have. The discussion posts are quite lengthy. Final paper is more analogy than comparison. Drops 3 lowest quizzes and gives plenty of extra credit. I made an A!
SHE IS SO UNDERSTANDING AND TAKE HER. CLASS IS A BREEZE ONLINE!
She makes this class very easy! Weekly discussions and quizzes, a few tests, 2 finals and a paper. More then enough time for quizzes and tests. Lengthy discussions that requires 2 peer replies. Very strict with peer replies, but will give you another chance to correct if you didn't get credit for it. She is very helpful, take her! Easy A!
She isn't a bad teacher at all. She is extremely organized and is very clear in what she expects. With that being said, she is a really tough grader and I find it near impossible to make a 100 on any discussion. She can be condescending at times and somewhat rude. She Expects a TON of reading (100-150 pages a week). Other than that she's okay.
Find this useful if she uses lockdown browser. I have a chromebook and lockdown doesn't support on my laptop.
I took the half semester class and it was double the work I expected which says a lot since I had already taken other half semester courses. Half semester involves 2 discussions, 2 quizzes, 4 peer replies and a test in one week. If you want an A on discussions, she is looking for length. She doesn't give personalized feedback on your posts.
200% participation required. Expects thorough discussion post responses, too. Gives an overwhelming load of information to learn for each chapter- this can be good or bad depending on your overall course load. She's very well respected because of her knowledge and experience with PSYC. Sweet lady! VERY fair! TEACHERS NEED TO LEARN FROM HER!
I took the half semester course but it was pretty easy. You have to read 2, sometimes 3 chapters a week, plus the quiz and write a long discussion post & 2 replies. There's a midterm and final which are easy. And just one paper at the end which is a breeze. Her course is very organized and I recommend her for any Psychology course!
I took her for six weeks in the fall. Discussion ?'s every week and a case study at the end. I learned a lot and didnt mind the discussion questions its college. Weekly quizzes. They questions can get tricky. The book is very much needed to double check.I got an B but she rounded me up to an A which I appreciated very much.
I was nervous about this class and she made it fun. Remember participation matters and utilize your book and outside resources for your discussions. As long as you do the work you will be fine. She also provides a detailed syllabus and sticks to it, no surprises.
Mrs. Crisp was such a great professor for my online psychology class! She was so understanding of student's schedules and allowed everyone to do extra credit or redo discussion assignments. The textbook was free online and extremely easy to read. Loved her!!!
Ms. Crisp is a really caring professor. I was at the end of my pregnancy and had my baby during the semester. She was MORE than willing to work with me. She will open up assignments if you have a good reason for missing and allow you to make up assignments. The class is pretty easy overall, just DO your work.
Professor was great !! I took this class in 7 weeks so there was a lot to do each week 2-3 chapters , the discussions are detailed she does want paragraphs when posting your discussion and when responding to the students. The quizzes are easy , answers are in the book. You should not get anything lower than an A , Just do your work :)
While I enjoyed her class, her discussion topics are pretty boring and tedious. The content of your discussion posts does not seem to matter at all, just the date of the post. The due date being Sunday, but she expects them by Wednesday. Just be mindful of her expectations and should get an A easily.
I took this class online and it was very easy. There is a discussion post due every week and you must also reply to 2 classmates. If you forget to post or reply she sends a message giving you the opportunity to complete them for credit. Quizes the final were fairly easy. I would have made an A had I read her messages when I missed posts.
Outstanding! Prof. Crisp is very attentive to her students success. Provide excellent clear feedback. Syllabus, content, announcements, emails, reminders, the works! She is available & ready to see you succeed! I wish She can teach all subjects!
This was easily my favorite online class this semester. Professor Crisp has 15 discussions: one every week for every chapter, and with that goes the chapter quiz. However, she drops your 4 lowest quizzes. Lastly three tests and the final. She is caring, responds swiftly, and provides clear feedback.P.S, she provides several extra credit points!!!
Professor Crisp was super helpful and attentive. She is also very understanding that students have personal lives and problems occur, so she accommodates any work you may have missed and can give extra time if needed. The test arent the easiest, but if you do good on quizzes and actually read the textbook, then you should be fine. Great professor
Professor Crisp was one of the best professors I've ever had! She communicates and always gives you an opportunity to make up your work. She give amazing feedback and even though the course loads is a little heavy, it is worth it! She gives great topics fro discussion post! I wish I could take her class again.
Professor Crisp lays out everything for you. Read the chapters. A digital textbook was most helpful for me. Try to get discussion post completed early in the week will save a lot of stress. Straight forward class.
Professor Crisp is a great professor, I definitely recommend taking her. There are 16 discussions, one every week and two in the final week, and then you have to respond to 2 people. There is also a quiz each week, but she drops 4 of your lowest quiz grade. Then there are 3 tests and a final. There is a paper to do, and extra credit is available
Mrs. Crisps online Psych class was straightforward and easy. A weekly discussion post, 2 peer responses, and a quiz are the bulk of your written work + your textbook is free. No zooms or lectures, more of a self taught course. As long as you try in this class, you should get a good grade. Very kind, understanding, and more than fair.
Mrs. Crisp's class is an excellent Intro to Psychology class! There is a bit of reading and note-taking, but she provides lots of resources to help you understand the material more. Weekly quiz and discussion post with two peer replies. She is understanding and responsive when you need help. Definitely take her class, just make sure you do the work
Lots of writting .Tests can be tricky !
April Crisp is one of the best psychology professors to have, and you can tell she really wants you to succeed. You have weekly quizzes and discussions which are extremely easy. As long as you do the discussion and quizzes you should pass with an A. She also provide notes and power points, also the book is free. Take her class if you want an easyA
Everything is easy to follow, provides a free link to the textbook and attaches links for you already. Straight to the point. The thing you really need to work on is your discussion posts. Other than that, fair grader provides good feedback and responds quickly!
April Crisp is awesome. Took her intro to psych class too--good stuff. One major paper at end of semester, included option for extra credit paper. She's great!
Make sure you read the Chapter to understand the Discussions and quizzes. Provides great feedback and links help you go more in depth.
Great Professor!! She uses an online textbook (16 Chapters). 1 discussion (350-500 words) and 2 responses per chapter due weekly. Quiz for each chapter (4 lowest dropped). 4 Exams total (Midterm (Ch 1-7) and Final (Ch 1-16)). Beware of the 3-5 page final paper at the end of the semester. READ THE CHAPTERS!!! LOTS OF READING!!! Non-proctored course.
This was my second to easiest class! Non-proctored course. Gives extra credit.
The online textbook is provided. Quizzes/exams are open book. Weekly readings and discussion posts are required. Professor Crisp was great at providing feedback.
A discussion post and quiz were due every week. Both can be done under an hour combined. If you look at the week's material, both are very easy. She responds to emails quickly and really wants you to succeed. Take PSYC1101 with her!
Very good professor enjoyed her class a lot, easy quizzes which are open notebook. Writing prompts weren't hard just make sure you stay on top of your work.
Honestly, the quizzes and tests are easy and I got good grades in her class. The worst thing about this class is the extreme amount of writing every week and a 3-5 page essay at the end of the semester worth 100 points. If you don't enjoy writing long essays, I don't recommend taking her class. Overall, very good instructor just a lot of writing.
Quizzes and tests were simple due to being open book, (even the final.) A lot of writing is required for this class( weekly discussion posts), including a 3-5 page paper at the end of the semester. She was a great professor, was quick to respond, and truly wants you to succeed.
While the class has a solid amount of homework, as long as you pay attention to instructions and read what you're supposed to, you should pass with an A. She also gives opportunities to submit late work up to a certain point and actually provides feedback on grades and discussion posts.
You have to read the chapter and then write an essay on it weekly, you have to do 2 "substantive" peer reviews flexible deadline . she does pile up the work like before spring break she gave us two essays to write instead of one. It was easy enough to make sure you weren't late on the final essay as she is not flexible (learned from experience).
A lot of writing to do, but as long as you write ahead, and prepare for the quizzes, everything will be a breeze! She provides her phone number so you can text her whenever!
Great professor! I had her online for psych 1101. Super easy course, gives good feedback, and gives extra credit assignments towards end of the semester
Crisp didn't really do much as far as teaching, it was mostly just reading the textbooks and answering prompts. She's pretty particular about how she wants them done (5 paragraphs for each one). Every week you must complete a discussion post, two peer responses, and a quiz. Her class isn't hard, but it is aggravating work.
I am an online dual enrollment student and this was my first class. You do teach yourself for the most part, I just took notes from the book and did the quizzes. There were Discussions for every chapter and 3 exams. This class was easier than any of my high school classes. Mrs.Crisp responded almost immediately and helped whenever I asked. 10/10.
Took PSYC 1101 online with Professor Crisp over the summer. For every chapter, there's a quiz and a discussion post that you have to write and reply. Overall, nothing too surprising from the course and Professor Crisp is a really nice person, definitely would recommend if you're looking to take PSYC 1101 or just a gen ed.
Psych 1101 with this professor is a breeze. The open-book quizzes and tests are easy, and the weekly discussion posts can be done quickly. unstuck AI is a great study tool alongside the free textbook provided. Take this class!
