I think she is a bomb ass teacher! I love her to death, she is very interesting! If you have to take Sociology I would definitely recommend her. Great personality!

This is one of the best professors at Tech. Sociology is required for most majors and this class is fun and engaging with Ms.Dove. I was dreading this class but I learned a lot and she is highly reccommended for a reason!

Dedicated teacher! You can tell she loves the subject! All notes are from powerpoint slides. The study guides given b4 every test make getting an A easy. She is also FAST at getting the grades up online which was super convenient. The 7 HW's given take thought, make sure you even take notes from the things she writes on the board!

FANTASTIC instructor - the best I've had at Tech! If you didn't care much about Sociology before taking her class, you will by the time its over (and may truly enjoy it). Her lecture style is very animated, but it draws you in and holds your interest. ADVICE: DO the Learnsmart exercises & study guides and you WILL pass the class.

Mrs. Dove is one of the best sociologist teacher I know. She makes a sociology a fun subject. She provides study guides, if you do them, you will get a good grade on her exams. She also requires Learnsmarts which is 100% if you do them. She does slides but still have to handwrite or type the notes. Mrs. Dove is highly recommended.

She gives you study guides and you have the learn smarts to help you make a really good grade. She tells you what is expected from day 1. AMAZING TEACHER!!!! She is so passionate about sociology! I thought sociology would be boring, but I LOVED it! She uses her own power points, articles, videos, and life-like examples to teach. I wish she taught all subjects! She types up a study guide and while it takes about an hour to do, it is EXACTLY what the test is! TAKE HER SOC CLASS!

I wish ALL professors could lecture as well as she can! It was actually interesting with her. Work is pretty self explanatory and easy as long as you take the time to do it, which isn't much. Study guides, she will stress on them. But SERIOUSLY do them, my grades on the exams were so much better! I wouldn't take soc with anyone else.

Dove is a VERY good teacher. She is one of my favorites. She knows her stuff and makes it EXTREMELY easy for you to pass. She teaches using power points and videos and provides everything you will need for the test like study guides and answers. Just take good notes and do your learnsmarts and extra credit.

Barely studied throughout the entire semester and ended up with around a 97! She's very interesting, easy, and there are only 3 tests to study for the entire semester including the final! Very nice, helpful, and easy.

Very easy class as long as you are there and take notes. She gives study guides based on her notes that covers everything on the tests. She is very helpful and teaches to where you can understand.

Amazing Teacher

I loved Dove's class! Lecture was always interesting. She provided study guides that covered everything you would need to know for her test. I don't see how you could make less than an A with the study guide. Had to write 2 papers, but they were short and she was very clear on how to write them. Only used the book for definitions for study guide.

My favorite professor thus far at Tech. We even keep in touch occasionally outside of class. Almost all of her 101 students returned for her experimental 205 class solely because she's that good. Lectures are engaging, structured, and just generally enjoyable. If you learn the material, you will make an A, but grades aren't handed out.

April Dove is the most entertaining Professor there is. Her lectures are clear and all her tests are on scantrons. She uses a website that is a great study tool for the tests, and you complete the activiteis for compeltion. She is charming and has great stories to share with the Class. She has this spunk that keeps you interested the entire class.

I believe "Dovey" as she is called, is my favorite female teacher at Greenville Tech. She is so far the only one I've had who is actually nice but still gets her point across! She's so good, (it sounds crazy) but she had me considering to change my major to Sociology. SHE IS GOOD!

If you take notes and makes flashcards for vocabulary you will do well on the test.

UNBELIEVABLY amazing teacher! Prof. Dove has everything a good teacher should have. The lectures were so interesting, she uses every minute of class to give you as much as she can. Inspired me with many new ideas about life in general and while doing that she's funny and clear. Every topic explained with useful examples and so on, just perfect!

Mrs. Dove is an amazing instructor. Her powerpoints were hilarious. They actually make you think critically about how people act in certain situations. Tests are open book. You have about an hour to take them. The only thing I didn't like, was that the tests wouldn't allow you to change answers once you moved on to the next question.

Mrs. Dove is awesome. The class was really straightforward essentially complete the learn smarts (automatic 100 for completion) she gives you a calendar month by month at the beginning so you know exactly what to do! Everything for the week is due by Sunday night at 11:59. The information is actually really interesting! She's a great teacher!

Pretty easy class, the 2 assignments are really easy. You do have to watch like 4 (40ish minutes each) movies throughout the semester and there will be questions on the following test about them and some of the video clips are annoying in the lecture slides because you have to watch all of them because often there are questions directly about them.

Of the dozen I've had at this school she has been my favorite professor thus far. Very good at teaching and keeping you engaged.

I took her SOC 101 class online: easiest class I've ever taken. All you do is read the chapters and look over the PowerPoint's she provides and tests are a breeze. I've never met her in person, but I can imagine she's very nice as she's always responded to my emails promptly. Wonderful, recommended class.

I took this online and I felt that the work load was appropriate for an entry level class. This is taught like it is meant to be an introduction to sociology. She was very encouraging and added videos and power point slides to the online instruction which made learning about sociology fun! Met her in person and she amazing! Definitely recommend!!!

An online class can be challenging but Dove did a wonderful job. Her personality came through the power points. This was my second time taking this class and I had a WAY better experience with her. As long as you take good notes from the online reading material/assessments and review her power points (there are some very interesting facts/videos that keeps you engaged) you will pass. Tests and exams are all online and she has 2 writing assignments as well.

Prof. Dove is just the best. She doesn't share the power points, but gives you plenty of time to write your notes. She spends a lot of time explaining the info, giving examples, and telling stories so you really understand the chapter. There are only a few assignments to turn in for this class, otherwise, your overall grade depends on your test grades. Prof Dove gives good feedback and checks her email outside of class hours (thankfully). The chapter readings and assigned videos were long but actually really interesting! Final is taken at campus.

This was BY FAR the easiest class I have ever taken. I took SOC online and It was literally just a free A by how easy it was. Definitely take this class if you need electives. There's also a Quizlet for almost every test.

Ms. Dove could easily be the best teacher you could ever have. Completely amazing lectures, tests are fairly similar to the review guide, short weekly assignments. If you really work hard, there should be no problem for you to get an A. The teacher is genuinely caring and open to any opinions or ideas. Strongly recommended for sociology!

Take her! Her class is an easy A. Only assignments are learnsmart, tests, and 3 reflective assignments. We do have 10 tests though, almost one each week but they are super easy and are only 20 questions. Study a little and the rest is basic common sense.

Professor Dove is literally an angel. I took her class online and she was also so kind and quick to respond to emails. All of the tests are open notes and the final is as well only you have to use Honor Lock for the final. There is an online text so you do not need to buy the textbook. She is so sweet and I would totally recommend her to anyone.

Took this class online. Consistent due dates and assignments which was a huge help with my anxiety. Loved the book we used, and there was plenty of additional information in PowerPoint if you wanted to use them. Tests are open book with plenty of time. 10/10

Professor Dove was a fantastic teacher! You have to get through a lot of reading, but even with that, the class is simple by far. She gives good feedback and is prompt in answering emails.

I enjoyed taking Professor Dove's sociology class. I'm a little sad that the class is over. You could tell that she took the time to make her class fun and exciting. Be sure to watch the videos, you can learn so many exciting things by watching them! The tests aren't very difficult as long as you went through the modules.

The online section was amazing. Prof Dove's slides are engaging with links to outside videos to make sure the content is clear. She puts questions from the videos on her tests. The only negative is that she will post one week at a time in Blackboard so there is no working ahead. Her calendar helps with planning forward.

If you read through her colorful slideshows and do the Inquizitive assignments it'll be super easy. Amazing teacher and class!

Classes are SOO entertaining. The best story times. You will UNDERSTAND the content, not just get a good grade. Lots of extra credit (so easy). Not a lot of homework, and the tests are all open book (except the final). A genuinely FUN class and I look forward to it daily. She cares about our success. She does not accept any late work without a medical excuse, military, etc. Her tests are all online on BlackBoard and the final exam is proctored online but you can use notes for it.
