April Falardeau was an amazing professor. She was very clear and specific as to what she wanted us to do, and how to do it. She follows her syllabus and her lectures are very organized. Expect homework. She hands out note packets for every chapter and you do them together in class. Taking her class won't be easy, but if you work hard you'll pass.
Professor Falardeau is a very helpful professor and is very organized. Her class is organized through notes she hands out that you complete together in class. You will have to spend a couple of hours on homework but each chapter isn't due until test day. She has very flexible office hours and is more than happy when you ask for help.
best teacher ever. she's easy she gives a a packet for every chapter and we go over it with her in class and she explain everything in a clear way and asks if we have any question about the problem. she's very class and gives extra credit also she let you correct one of the test and drop out to quizzes. i recommend the teacher.
she is very smart in math she helps if you need help i would take her again shes organized, but you need to study and you cant skip class thats for every math class anyways i passed with a (C) but i should of studied more thank you Miss April for working hard with the class and reviewing before every quiz.
VERY PICKY! Teaching was mostly clear, a bit too fast towards the end. She drops the lowest quiz score (Quizzes-1 every week), final exam grade will replace the lowest exam score (6 Exams Total), and gives study guides. I would've gotten a better grade if I put in more effort.
If you are able to take another teacher, take them. Otherwise, you should expect a lot of teaching yourself on your own time. too fast, do not explain detailed steps expect you to understand everything if i understand everything why would i come to class. too short time to do the test.
she is a nice teacher but If you are not good with math don't take her. she expects you to know a lot. Her exams are very difficult.
"ubiss weshum" this teacher is very difficult. fall 2016 is her first time teaching calculus 1. she is very good for math115 and lower classes but don't take her for CALC 1 unless youre fine with a C if you get it. overall she is a nice teacher but a very hard grader. expect 2 quizes every week. 5 exams and a final. no study guides what so ever.

The professor is super nice however her test, I felt were way too hard and the study guides I thought were useless. She lets you know what to expect from the class and what she expects you to know. I felt she is a really nice person and I felt that she was willing to help out when I was lost on something. Overall though, those test were hard.
April was an amazing professor, she really knows her stuff and is a very hard working teacher. The only flaw is when she grades. It is almost too much. Little mistakes go a long way and will end up getting you in the end. She is usually always available when she says she is, and does a great job,just beware of the grading it is very harsh.
April was such a good teacher. The problems she gives on her quizzes and exams are exactly like the ones she goes over in class, however, she is a little picky on the way she grades. She is also always available during her office hours and more than willing to answer any questions and give extra help when you ask. Overall great teacher!
the subject is usually vary easy for me but this professor was vary difficult and i barely passed her class with a c. she is good for lower math but not good for calc 1 and above.
She is a very very strict grader! She's a little fast pace but if you stop her to ask for help she will help you. She grades on every little detail of every step so beware of that. There are 4 exams and 10 quizzes your lowest 3 quizzes get dropped and your lowest exam grade is replaced with your final exam grade.

Clear and concise. Everybody who rated her poorly is lazy and can't handle a regular amount of work. Explains everything well enough and isn't hard to understand at all. Her tests are fairly difficult, but not impossible. As long as you do the recommended book work, you should be fine

She is tough, she is hard, and she gives so much homework. She is also caring, willing to help, & respects the people who are really trying. Gives your score a little boost if she knows you worked hard. I would take her again. You can't blow this class off, she gives homework after every class & collects it randomly. If you're not there, too bad.
Did you know that teachers who teach more than a two hour class are required to give 10 minute breaks? I didn't because she doesn't give them. She says if you need one, you can leave but she continues on with the lesson so you miss A LOT if you just go to the bathroom. Not to mention, you just copy what she writes off the board. It's hard to learn.

If you want to spend 12 hours a week on algebra and barely get a C, then go ahead knock yourself out and register for her class.
This is the worst professor I have ever had. Do not take Math 115 with her. I have loss all confidence when taking this class and even when I tried my hardest, it still was not enough. The material being taught is easy, yet the class itself is so difficult. If you do take this course with her, get ready to teach yourself and spend hours studying.
Ur going to have to put about 15 hours a week into this class teaching urself bcuz you will never learn in class. Shes cocky. rude. U will not pass i promise More than Half of our class failed
I honestly cant stand her. She made me hate math and school in general.
She gives tough texts, not enough time to complete them. She won't give any extensions or extra credit, and she doesn't teach very well.
Trash teacher. Teaches at the speed of light. She thinks it's a race with no finish line. I came in everyday & learned nothing. Straight copying of the board. If you asked questions, you were an idiot. Made you feel dumb. No matter how hard you try, you'll fail. Doesn't really teach well, it was more of a self taught class. Expect lots of hw/test
she goes so quickly during lecture like relax were not rushing you. she writes out the book definitions and doesnt further explain them its a waste of time. she gives in class writes which require a partner and you to explain a math problem. these have no value other than to lower your grade bc she marks every lil thing on these and on exams
Ms. April is an amazing teacher. Her grading policy is clear. The only homework you get is the online homework and its reasonable. Her lectures are really good. She explains everything in detail and is also available during office hours. She is really friendly too. I have taken her for two classes and i would take her again if I have too.
Very good professor. However, don't skip steps as she will deduct points. Not impossible to get an A in the class. Do your homework on time and study the material properly. Quiz once a week.
10/10 would NOT take again, goes through material way too fast. 2 questions every quiz (you fail if you miss one question), not motivational like the other professors I have at this institution. Loads of myMathLab homework that doesnt help you with understanding the material, you basically just do it for the grade.
She was horrible for an online class. Anytime I would email her, she would respond in a way that seemed liked she was talking down to me. When grading Critical Thinking, she would mark me down for not doing things, which she never asked us to do in the first place. Take another teacher if you can.
IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. She is not clear with anything. She'll give you homework. You'll never know if or when it will be collected. Never goes over it. Unless YOU bring it up. this teacher is nice and funny but she is way to fast and makes multiple mistakes when doing a problem and does not give enough time for tests or the tests are way to long. does not teach how to do all the problems that are on the homework.
Her class was an absolute nightmare. She can definitely teach, I actually know the material, but the test comes and I'm getting marked down for some of the STUPIDEST things. I swear I lose about 20% of my grade to things she doesn't like. Talking to her about it was awful because she was so dismissive and condescending too. Would not recommend.

DON'T EVER TAKE HER CLASS! She marks down points on the smallest mistake! She teaches way too fast. She gives quizzes almost every week and her quizzes is not what she went over. She does not teach properly whatsoever! Half her students dropped her class before the semester ended!!!

She also gets mad at the whole class if they dont get the problem right. Tons of hw like 2-108 she gives atleast 6 sections at time online hw and book hw do not take her!!!
HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Do not take her or less you want to fail...... half of the class is failing easy work but the way she teaches is horrible. She makes you not get it. Quiz every week even after you just took a big exam.
Honestly i cant understand why others are so hurt over the way she teaches. I've never had a math class that made math so easy and also improved my math skills as much as this class. Shes tough, but its a form of tough love. Truly helped my career. Visit her during office hours and she will help you and give great advice.
Skip any class with her . she gives 4 exams with short time to do them , hard grader , she doesn't care whether u understand or not
She has good teaching methods, but when it comes to exams they are hard and very long, considering that the class was only a 50 min class, the exams needed more time to solve completely. I like that she provides with notes so you don't have to write anything. But you have to work hard to pass.

Doesn't give enough time on the exam. I should've listened to the reviews before taking her class. Dont ask her any questions, you'll just embarrass yourself.
She's a good professor, she's clear and explains things so that they're easier to understand. Do the homework, as it's what will really help you (you'll need lots of practice). She'll drop the lowest exam score only if you turn in your homework throughout the semester. Her exams are fair, not really that hard, but not exactly easy. Really good prof
Ms. April was a very good professor. Strongly went over the material. If you were absent and needed the notes just email her and she sent them. Was very nice and very helpful. If i had any questions she would answer them or explain them to where I understood them. Loved this professor !

She just takes her job way too serious. I understand that its her job, but she don't know how to relax. She doesn't do anything thats not on the book. Her study guides are nothing like whats on the exam. The worst part is she doesn't even try or care to help you pass. Overall, I think she's the worst professor I've ever had.
I got in by accident into her class, all the classes were full. But i never realize, what big mistake i got into. The teacher doesn't teach clear at all. She speed A lot, also her notation Method is very bad, not professional at all. If you go the office don't expect someone very, with deep knowledge, just someone that repeated process.
She gives out 5 exams (62.5%) with lowest one being replaced by a good final exam score, 5 quizzes (7.5%) with lowest one dropped, online hw (7.5%), highest 10 out of around 30 exit tickets (3.75%), and a final exam (18.75%). Exams are based on lecture notes, online hw, and her list of suggested textbook problems (MAKE SURE to do those!).
Run away!! She gives quizzes every week alongside paper homework and online homework! Plus gives exams! She doesn't teach at all. She writes down notes and you copy off her. She's always rushing when writing down notes. Her voice is annoying when writing notes. She has an attitude vibe if you don't understand something and blames you for it. Run!!!
I was struggling a lot this semester with things at home, and I even had to miss a test due to some surgery. And she wouldnt let me retake the test/gave a 0 when I notified her in advance. I couldnt help that I had to miss the test! Doesnt work with her students at ALL. When the classes moved online it was worse. One of the worst Ive had.
I do not recommend this professor at all. Save yourself, if you get squeezed into her class because you couldn't find any other, honestly wait til the next semester. Don't take her class, she does not know how to teach. She grades very very heavy and there are quizzes every week. Its practically impossible to pass. Good luck.
I consider myself somebody who catches onto things pretty quickly. Do not take this course. I feel legitimately bad for any of the other students that struggle with material like this. She's not a good teacher, and frankly gives the impression to me that she'd rather have a different job. Nitpicky,condescending, doesn't care about your success.
DO NOT TAKE! Very picky grader. I took her only bc I really needed this class, big regret. My advise wait until a new semester to take with another professor. Failed students during a covid-19 pandemic when classes converted to online, & was not helpful at all. Takes attendance everyday, exams were half calculator part and half no calculator part.
I really dont know where to even start with this professor. I started this class expecting it to just be a normal class with reasonable work but shes just too much. She will literally minus point for the most unnecessary reasons and she gives us so much additional work. Good luck trying to get an A with her.

One of the only professors ive had that gives detailed feedback on work. She's super nice and wants you to succeed. There's a lot of work to do each week and each assignment doesn't take long to complete, but it can feel pretty overwhelming. She is a picky grader though.
I got an A bcz I literally taught myself EVERYTHING. The lack of help Ive had to deal with is ridiculous to say the least. The amount of hw/cw given is seriously hard to keep up with when youre being your own teacher at the same time. What set me off is how unreasonable she is when grading. I have lost so much credit bcz of that. DONT TAKE HER.
Yes, there are lots of hw/ quizzes/ tests, but she is the most organized prof. She grades harshly with hw. She seems a bit rude, but she isn't bad. If you have to take a class with her, that's fine. However, prepare to work for a good grade. Do homework and attend zoom. Exams were hard bc cams have to be on and work has to be provided.

The best prof I've had at HFC, very helpful and responds to emails so fast. She is always willing to help if you come to office hours and she gives a ton of resources to figure stuff out on your own. She assigns a LOT of work each week though so keep that in mind.
Her instructions for assignments are full of grammatical errors that they are confusing and difficult to understand. She picks on tiny punctuation errors in weekly written submissions and projects and takes off significant points so as to lower the students grades. The weekly fora are her excuse and way out of explaining the material to the studen
Wish I'd checked these before taking a class with her. She requires way too much work each week and way too much work overall. She is a very tough grader - Web Assign marked a question right for me and she marked it wrong. To get half credit back I had to follow an absurd list of terms and conditions. All I can say is at least it will be over soon.

She does not budge with due dates when it comes to being behind or needing an extension. I have had people from having her 2 years ago and they still complain about her. let me just say one thing never. again. One thing is that she grades you on EVERY. LITTLE. MISTAKE. another thing is the amount of work she assigns. she would give a writtenwork,30 point questions, 3 discussions, projects, and sometimes a test in the same week. nvr again. (btw I turned in an assignment 30 secs late n she didn't accept it so)
She is awful!!! If your not good at Math this is not it for you. I hate math and I need this last class for the nursing program. She is PICKY!!! Who writes complete sentences in math?!?!?!! She asks for way too much work for a freaking math class. The workload was literally more than all of my other classes and I am taking A&P. I had to drop!

Study study and study to pass this class. Has a very nice system of giving us prelecture assignments so we wont feel lost in class. Was very nice, accessible and organized. Has test that I wont call hard rather challenging as they are supposed to test you level and how much you've understood. Would definitely take her again!!

She is amazing . She is the only one who goes one by one in every single exercise . Her explanation is so clear. She is a bit strict with due date , but better strict and productive that an easy professor with nothing to learn from.
Nice,but insensitive. Blitzed through lessons, assumes you know too much,makes you pick up the slack at home (then skips going over those concepts in class if you couldn't get them then take a hike),"You're already supposed to know this," doesn't explain all the concepts for the homework. Tip:Watch videos on Youtube then go straight to the HOMEWORK

This professor gave many tests and they were all hard. I got less than 60% in all and I'm surprised I still passed. Very tough grader, if you're 2 minutes late you won't receive credit.

But you have to be a hard-working in her class, because you have a lot of HW and quizzes to do, exams are average , you have to study very good for them, also she is a though grader. No extra credit. I recommend this professor if you are good enough in math!
BEWARE I thought I should take her class even after seeing the terrible reviews because I thought I could work for the grade but its almost impossible. Goes over the material so quickly you don't understand anything in class. Taught myself. Quizzes each week aren't the same as homework they're harder to test your understanding.
Not only this teacher is a tough grader but she also takes off lots of points. Even if you understand what being taught, if you don't do it her way she'll take off points. worst professor ever, does not teach anything in class. All she does is give worksheets and solve them with no explanation whatsoever. The material is not hard but with her way of teaching it makes it unbearable. Don't take this professor unless you want to self study all the material. Even if you know the material I recommend you don't take it.
WHAT?? How does this professor even have over a 1 rating if I could I would give her a zero rating. Her teaching is horrible she goes very quick acts all nice but her grading is so tough Sometime I get most of the answer right and she gives me 1 out of 13.

Lots of quizzes and papers. She sends emails stating when each homework is due and dates of quizzes, but the amount of work can still easily catch you by surprise. She marks off some of your quizzes and a test if you have good attendance. Overall I expected a lot worse from her. Best way to prepare for quizzes is by going only over lecture notes.
DNT take her. she does not teach for her life, she just goes over the notes expecting us to know things, I self taught everything to myself in this class and with quizzes test and exams if u dnt do things her exact way or miss a stupid step that dosnt even matter she'll still take points away, hw wasn't bad, only 4 late passes, she rlly don't care.
Do NOT take her. Barley teaches, if you aren't already good at math, she sets you up for failure... Whole class is a "teach yourself". LOTS of test and LOTS of homework. If you show up late on a test day, she won't let you retake or give you time to take it.
Solid course. She's really nice when grading quizzes/exams, she'll try give you as many points back as possible. There is usually one quiz or exam per week, and there is an average of two assignments per week and they are usually due by the end of the week. She's approachable before and after class and advocates for you to go to her office hours.
Never take a class by this woman. She goes a million miles an hour without a chance for you to catch up. I had two 3-hour sessions a week, she gave 0 breaks throughout the class. If you go to the bathroom during class, you miss a whole page of notes. Assigns a ton of homework, she also denied a student their accommodation. A quiz/test every week.
