This class was just amazing. There are no test at all. All you have to do is show up and take the daily written assignments which are short and easy(it's all electronic). Also the class is 50/50 lecture and the rest discussing a question to a partner. Also fridays where devoted to groups. If you show up and do the quizzes easy A.

In class debate and writing are done though an app you need to purchase, but they are not hard at all. You need to textbook for them and quizzes, but don't forget Quizlet for help. You will write 2 papers, which are easy, but make sure to actually take care of them. Easy and enjoyable class, extra credit was offered at the end.

You have to buy a TopHat subscription but it adds a cool aspect to the class, I wish more professors used it. There is a lot of reading but most of it is pretty interesting if you're really into music, especially classical. Also take notes from the powerpoints. That is where most of the quiz questions come from. Write fast because she talks fast.

No exams, just essays. Lots of reading, but you can get away with skimming. $26 for app for tracking attendance and submitting small assignments. Do not skip class, you're only allowed to miss 6. Fridays dedicated to easy group work. Put in a little effort and you'll have an A!

This class isnt hard whatsoever. You do have to write papers and do an online Padlet every week that isnt too hard. I did one of my essays totally wrong and got a 0 on it and she was kind enough to tell me that it was wrong and let me redo it and got a 96 on it. She cares about you passing. Only too this to get a credit for arts and loved it.

If you're not a music major you probably won't like the class, and there's A LOT of papers and group work. But like just basing it off of her she's super sweet and a good professor who will be very helpful. She gives good feed back to your work. Text book was "needed" but I haven't used it yet and theres only a few weeks left so. Go to class A

She's a really good professor and cares about her students. There are not tests, but a final group essay project (good luck with that!) Otherwise, the class is pretty easy and straightforward. Weekly homework assignments that go with the textbook.

This is was honestly my favorite class this semester due to the fact that there were no exams and it took very little time. In the beginning of the semester she puts the class into groups of 4-5 and Monday attendence is mandatory, but youll either attend class Wednesday or Friday along with your group. SHE GIVES PLENTY OF EXTRA CREDIT. Easy A

there were reef quizzes in class each day, and there was a pallet (blog type thing) due every sunday. the final was a group project.

A lot more work than I thought it would be- but doable! Very nice professor, she just cares about her subject. The content isn't bad most days, and attendance is mandatory for the reef polling. Group work isn't bad, if you don't have a bad group... which she assigns randomly. No tests!!! If you like music, you will most definitely like this class!

I took this class for my creative arts credit, and really enjoyed it! It was a very easy class, but definitely not a blow off class. There were many papers, concert reviews, and group assignments. Reef polling is taken during class, so show up! The lectures could be a bit dull at times, but she's a very kind lady.

Shes not a boring lecturer. She uses Reed polling every class and it becomes a total grade at the end of the semester. Every Sunday, online assignments are due. You have to use a book that the online assignments are over. Overall, this class isnt difficult, and there is no exams.

Professor Prince was such a nice lady and professor. She made class very interesting and engaging. Her TA's were fair on grading and gave good feedback! There was lots of writing involved, but she made it fun.

Best Class I have taken at UNT. The only class that I actually liked and engaged with the material, and thought what I was learning was genuinely interesting. Love this class 100% would take again. Prof. Prince will listen to concerns about your grade and is understanding. Gives many opportunities to get a good grade.

I really like this professor. She takes her job seriously, and you can actually tell she is very passionate about educating students about important musical aspect. The only thing I don't like is that it seems like there is a lot of unnecessary busy work.

There are not any tests in the class however you are required to go to and write an essay on two concerts and there are about 5 short essays throughout the class. The final is a group performance project that you present for the class. Very interesting and easy class for an art credit!

I took this as an online 5-week summer course. It was a great way to knock out my creative arts credit. This class only requires an investment of a few hours a week, and as long as you do the work you will be happy with your grade. Prepare to be involved in group work.

Great professor. Anybody would enjoy her.

She's a great professor but if you want a professor that teaches and not TA's, don't take this class. She also uses a book "every song ever" to teach the class, and only the book, the book sucks. If you can find another professor that doesn't use someone else's ideas to teach do it.

Interesting class, Prof. Prince encourages you to think for yourself. She is very friendly and gives good feedback. Do the readings, reef polls, and wakes and an A will be no problem.

Overall she is great. Even though it was just an Arts credit for me, it did require some work. She is caring and very nice. Everything is organized.

Very nice women and is willing to work with you if you need help. She provides examples of how work should be done because they are kind of confusing at first. No textbook is used but you do have to read specific chapters from a book that you will have to buy in the middle of semester. You are assigned to a group at the end of semester for project.

She is so understanding, nice, and makes learning the content fun! Really awesome Prof, but there is group work involved. It was easy to succeed in the class as long as you do the work.

Lots of thought-provoking discussion. Also, this class is SUPER writing heavy, so grades can be a bit delayed. The class content was honestly pretty interesting, however there was quite a bit of writing and group assignments. Still, just do the work and you should be alright.

Professor Prince was an great instructor. She's always responsive to emails and welcoming to questions or concerns you may have. However, there is a lot of work for this class. The weekly group assignments and the bi-weekly Wakes are a huge PAIN. Wakes are very clear and you will be docked points if you don't fulfill the requirements. Easy A.

I took her class online and it was super easy. You have a set schedule throughout the semester. I highly recommend taking this class online.

Too much writing for a basic creative art credit. Mondays are lectures, W/F are group work classes. One 3 page (new) album review, 5 Music Reports with 5 150 word responses. Grade is based on writing assignments and group work. Like the professor, but not the class. Need the book for writing assignments. Review. More work than classes in my major.

Be ready to turn in an extensive assignment every week, I thought of the assignments as busy work because they were boring, and brushed them off. Doing that ultimately earned me a C+. As for Prince, she very informative, and will answer any questions you have. It's pretty blatant how much she loves music, therefore her lectures make sense.

dr. prince is an amazing professor who loves what she teaches. overall very easy course that just takes focus and participation. has her email notifications ON, replies super fast. very understanding lady. only thing that sucks is her TA's do most if not all of the grading. if you disagree with a grade though, communicate with her! she will help :)

Professor Prince was a great wintermester teacher. I'm glad I decided to take her course for my creative art credit. This class is not hard if you don't mind writing a lot. We had to do our fair share of essays and discussions, but she didn't grade the English harshly. She cares more about you explaining the music concepts (easy google search).

She is really sweet but way too much homework. I spoke to someone who took her the year before me and they said they only had one album review but we had three and a huge group project at the end of the semester, as well as a lot of outside reading. She did not do well once things went online, so I don't recommend taking her class online.

To be honest, Dr. Prince is a very nice lady and she's always answered any of my questions in a friendly and timely manner. She does assigns discussions every week (250 words ea.) and writing assignments every other week about (800 words ea.). The assignments aren't graded hard n I usually just skim through the readings. Get ready to write tho!

This was a hybrid class and she made it as manageable as she could. There was a lot of reading every week but the readings were very interesting. Quiz every week and essay every two weeks. Not a tough grader. You can tell she cares about her students. Just put in a little effort and you will be okay.

Dr. Prince is a great professor! Any time I would email her about an assignment, she would respond within a few minutes, even if it was outside of her office hours. The work in this class is pretty heavy for it being an elective, but it was an overall fun class and her explanations at the start of each module are very in depth and helpful.

Dr. Prince is such a kind and caring professor. She really cares about her students, and this is a really interesting and enjoyable class. The workload is a bit heavy for an elective, but it really isn't that bad and the material is interesting.

She gives a 24 hour grace period for late assignments which I loved. You actually had to think in this class for a good grade and there was a lot of writing but it wasn't hard, just annoying. She seems sweet enough and would help you through issues if you needed it, but this class was online due to COVID so I wouldn't know for in person.

This professor was so sweet and understanding. The class was very interesting and a different way of thinking. She was very flexible with due dates and gave great feedback on all assignments

Professor Prince was a great professor and the class was very interesting and engaging. She gives an extra 24 hours to turn in any assignment, which I appreciated very much and made the class much easier. As long as you put in effort into your assignments, then you'll get an easy A.

She is super caring and very active with her students!!! This class was so long, because of all the discussion posts and journals, but she made it worth it. There is lots of extra credit, and she accepts late work! Her grading can be a little hard, but she also gives good feedback so it can be corrected. I would take her again if needed!

Prince is such a well-rounded professor. That being said she assigns so many written assignments. If you are to take a course with her, just beware of the amount of work.

Hands down mumh 2050 was the best class Ive taken and will ever take on campus. Its such an easy and fun class and Im sad its over. The textbook will be used but mainly to get quotes for assignments. I never talked to the professor cause it was online but the class was set up great and it was so easy and fun.

Professor Prince is AWESOME! She is super funny, plays music that everyone enjoys, and she replies back to emails super quick. You do have to attend class, she uses iclicker that you have to participate in to get the credit, but it is super easy. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! You'll love it.

Her class is engaging and geared toward for people with non musical experience. I like how she goes the topic in depth in a simplistic way. Many of people who gives the low rating are looking to slack off. Just attend the class occasionally and do the paper. Her quizzes are super easy. The essay assignment is fun because you pick your own music.

Good professor. The workload is a lot more than I would have thought for this class but it is not hard. She has very well planned out lesson plan for every class, and loves class participation so it's best you participate in class lectures. Lots of good videos that go with the class so it is interesting.

This class was entirely online and asynchronous, so the amount of learning you do is really up to you. There are weekly relatively tedious discussions that you have to do, but she does drop some of them. Mostly it just felt like if you turned in something with at least a semblance of knowledge over the content, a 100 was pretty much guaranteed.

Not a difficult class, but there's a lot of group discussion posts and analysis papers. A couple projects that require some effort, but no exams and the quizzes are beyond easy. If you just need an art credit, it doesn't get much easier than this. If you're looking for something inspiring, try something else.

I loved Dr. Prince so much that I am planning on taking another class with her next semester. While this course definitely has a heavier homework load than most other electives, I found the assignments engaging and they didn't feel like a burden.

The lectures are 3 times a week and there is a participation grade through iClicker. Do not miss Friday discussions as they are a big part of your grade. She makes lectures go by fast and the TAs are really friendly. The big paper is time-consuming and so are the album reviews so start on time, but they are fun to write. Try and you will be fine.

Overall easy assignments, but a massive time sucker. Lots of canvas discussion posts, and major assignments every other week. Very lenient late policy, and generous grading. Musical knowledge isn't required, but it does allow for more in depth discussions.

Best Professor ever. TAKE HER !!!. She regraded all TBL group assignments as my groupmates suck. She is always there for you to support and help. Always reach out to her if you are stuck anywhere and need help, she is always there for you.

This class was super easy! Some of the work is time consuming, especially if you're new to music like I am, but it is not difficult. Professor Prince is very kind and gave very clear grading criteria for each assignment. 100% recommend taking this class.

Although the professor is very kind, this class work is tedious. This online class has more work than the in-person class. Lots of reading, discussions, and a report. No tests and no extra credits. Reports are very time-consuming and very confusing. DON'T TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU WANT TO FINISH YOUR CREATIVE ARTS CREDITS AND LOVE MUSIC!!!!!!!!

This was a pretty good class. You have to show up and sign in with iClicker every day. Make sure you attend regularly as attendance counts. The album reviews weren't hard at all. The only reason I got a B was because I didn't do the second one. I loved our Rethinking the Canon project! I still have my Spotify playlist a year later!

This professor is very kind and gives lenient instructions. As someone trying to satisfy a creative arts credit that happens to have a musical background, I enjoyed it. There is a lot of work, you definitely have to give this class some quality effort. Even though it says you don't need a musical background to take it, It definitely makes it easier

Professor Prince is very nice and this class was okay for being mandatory. Final is a project and can be pretty easy if you choose a good topic. Has a lot of filler work in my opinion but if you skim and get the general idea you can still do super well. I liked this class, not too hard at all!!

Dr. Prince is AMAZING! She truly wants you to be better after taking her class. The class is based on small group discussion so you actually get to know your classmates. The 2 take-home exams are very strenuous but that's the hardest thing you'll do. If you want a good grade and to actually be engaged in your class take this class.

This is a good class and Dr. Prince is a good professor but be ready to put in TONS of work. Weekly discussion board, occasional quizzes, and really time-consuming reports. This feels more like a film appreciation class with the number of movies you need to watch, and you need the textbook for assignments. Easy grader but lots of work.

Dr. Prince is an amazing professor and has a wonderful personality. In this particular class you will be placed in groups and basically your entire semester is dependent on your "team". If you show up, and do the readings you will do fine. Tests are essays so be prepared to write.

i love music but this class was wayyy to much. took it in the winter and the essay requirements were so much that it took away from the enjoyment in learning the subject. I understand she was trying to give us an in-depth understanding of music but I didn't enjoy it at all. I never bought the textbook and got an A.

The class was super easy to understand, work through and the assignments were actually fun. Got to flex the creative muscle more than normal. Would definitely recommend this class again.

Not a ton of interaction with her besides emails but she's very caring and willing to give you extra time on all assignments if you ask, even though everything already has a 24 hour grace period. Her criteria for the assignments is also pretty clear and her TAs grade things very fairly. The midterm and final project are very fun!

Dr. Prince is absolutely amazing! She's passionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly understanding. Her curriculum is well thought out, and she radiates enthusiasm while teaching. I highly recommend taking any of her classes. Stay honest, accountable, and keep up with the reading, and you'll succeed in her class!

Doctor Prince is great, she is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the class. I have really enjoyed her, and the class work is super straightforward if you just put effort into it.

24 hour leniency with late work. One Paper, Packback, and Quiz per week. If you're worried about if you can do this course as an accelerated (8-wk) class, you definitely can. If you struggle with writing, each assignment only asks for 50-200 word answers to questions.

Dr. Prince is an excellent professor! Her lectures were very engaging and an extensive amount of extra credit opportunities were provided. However, Attendance and iClicker quizzes + questions are VERY important to your grade. The tests were in person and were blue book exams; they were very difficult because only a small amount of time.

Very good teacher and provides a lot of extra credit at the end of the semester, but exams are on paper and you have to complete them in a short amount of time.

Really only take this class if it interests you otherwise I could see how this could be a challenging class. Otherwise, this course is actually really fun, I took it online and only had assignments due every other week which gave me time to work on them. If something was confusing she always had recorded lectures to watch which were really helpful.
