Extremely HARD!!!!
It is bad when students have to walk the teacher through problems to find her mistakes. Not well prepared for her classes. Spends time walking around but acts as though she is afraid to interact with students.

knows almost nothing about tech. can't answer questions students ask. fast talker though knows how to cover up the holes in herself. sometimes students can't understand her speech the words fall into each other in a string. just certain days. faux.
you get 15 minutes per page and must draw every graph by hand. no calculators!!!!!! 5 pages of problems on test. no way to finish ever. she doesn't understand this.
I was not impressed with her teaching style. I made a B but it was worth going to class just to put an eye on her. I spent more time thinking about teaching her something than her teaching me!
several inquries made all of which were avoided... or subject changed.
I found Mrs. Pritchett to be an excellent instructor, especially with the difficult subject matter. I do not know who gave her a poor rating, but obviously this was an under-achiever who did not want to work for the grade. Keep-up the good work!
The class is very boring. I love math, but definatly did not love this class. She never seems like she fully understands what she is teaching and is hard to follow. She never explains things fully, and does not present the notes clearly.
This class is pretty tough. It is very specialized and hard to understand the material. Mrs. Pritchett goes through the material way too fast and does not do a good job of explaning. You feel like she is in a hurry and not real interested in taking time with the students who don't understand. I woul
I don't know why, but she annoyed the crap out of me! She talks to you like you are in elementary school, and work is ridiculously stupid and she gives a lot of it.
Not very helpful or nice to students! I did not like her teaching or grading style. She was very odd during class time.
I do not know why she is a professor. Very unclear, way too many homework assignments, and disliked her grading methods.
Ok, so this woman needs to leave FAST! She doesn't know how to work well with students, she is never prepared for class, and she expects you to finish a test that should normally take 2 hours in the time span of one class.... she is just uhhhh NOT NICE! She said the word NICE way too much!
Good teacher..explains very well and will help you when you need. You get to use your homework on the quizzes and make out a notecard for the final.
shes ok so so bit scatterbrained but cute and very nice
I like he1r
I don't know why, but she is an extremely annoying person. I hated her voice. Plus she treated everyone like they were in preschool. She needs to leave NOW! Do not take her.
She gives WAY too much homework, and takes it up randomly. But I have taken her more than once and got an A each time, so I can't complain. Grades fairly easy and gives lots of group assignments.
My class was dead so I don't know if it was her fault, but it was so boring. She taught like it was an early high school course and then things suddenly got much harder for a while. Gave homework every day, and randomly quizzed over it. Tests were not extremely hard but most of them took me the entire class period. She was often confusing/confused.
She is an absolutely amazing teacher! I recommend taking her. I do not enjoy math and I enjoyed her class because it was all practical stuff as well as clear and easy to follow. She is extremely nice and willing to help.
She talks really fast and doesn't seem to care what kind of grade you get. I don't recommend taking her.
Sometimes when she would teach things she would teach it wrong and then have to go back and fix it. You will catch her alot of the time talking to herself but she is really nice and will help you any time! I recommend her!
Great at making material understandable! She made some mistakes, but it was nice because it made me feel like I wasn't alone... Fun personality. Tests were never surprising because she does a great job reviewing you. She doesn't give too much homework, but I had her in the summer so it may be different during the regular semester.
I actually learned alot in her class. Some things were confusing but if you asked for clarification she had no problems. Went to her office a couple of times, very helpful. Gives every point possible on tests. All class notes are posted on blackboard, I printed them everyday. I recommend.
I wish I would have went here before I took her...Everything she teaches you, you have to reteach yourself with the book. I'm constantly correcting her. I have never sleep in a class until hers
Amazing in explanations. Spends most classtime on examples and homework questions. Very helpful. Very student involved class. Amazing teacher.
Overall her class is pretty easy. She takes time to try and help the students. She is student oriented. The only complaint I have is with her knowledge of MAT 150, she often confused herself and turned to the class for help. Other than that, it's not a bad class if you do your work and come to class!
She is a nice person but she's very high strung and confusing.
She was on a different level than her students. Most of us couldn't understand half of what she said. Her tests were very difficult but she graded them somewhat fairly. What sucked most is thinking you did well on a test and getting it back (weeks later) with a D or F. That seemed to happen very often. If math isnt your best subject, dont take her.
Unless you are a great math student, don't take Mrs. Pritchett. She cannot teach and you will end up with a bad grade in the class.
Awful teacher. Would often come up with wrong answers and need to be corrected by students. Assigns a ridiculous amount of homework, every day. Grading was somewhat lax, but picked up homework randomly. Would definitely not recommend her.
She is a nice person, just not a good teacher. Lots of homework, taken up randomly. Tests are extremely hard. Unless math is your thing, don't take her.
Most of the time she was 5-10 minutes late to class which is very annoying. Ridiculous homework assignments every night. She is very rude when you ask for help. I recommend looking for a different prof for this class.
Just as everyone else has said, she gives out massive amounts of homework, and expects it all to be done the next day, but will take weeks to grade tests. Never goes by the book except when giving out assignments, so don't expect help from there. If you don't show work, she will give you a 0 for a question.
One of my worst teachers I have ever had in a math class. I am usually an A/B student but i ended up failing her class by .7%. She flys through notes and expects everyone to already know what she is teaching. She assigns way too much homework to be completed the next day. She has no idea what she is teaching.
Like everyone else has said, she flies through the stuff and makes it completely impossible to understand. One time, she came in, slammed the door and started to yell at us to make us stop talking, when 1. she wasn't even prepared for the days lesson and 2. was 5 minutes late. She was one of my worst professor/teachers ever.
Extremely easy to work in this class. She was very helpful and goes over homework. You don;t have to do the homework, but she takes her quizzes directly from it. She gives group work before each test, if you have any questions, just ask her, she is more than willingly to help in any way she can. If I ever needed another math class, I'd take her
She's often 5-10 min late, is usually unprepared when she arrives and doesn't seem to care how her students are doing. She rarely collects homework unless she thinks the students aren't doing it and even then she mostly just checks that it was attempted. Most of the other students in her class that I've spoken to are also struggling.
I had this teacher for both MAT 115 and 215. She is terrible. She's always late and very disorganized. Assigns a lot of homework but rarely takes it up. Makes simple math WAY more difficult than it needs to be. Does not provide alternative explanations to problems. Has a very short temper and gets angry easily. Worst professor I have ever had.
DO NOT TAKE HER!I attended class everday and never understood one thing. She does not care at all about students. Beware!
Received an A in the class, and didn't do any of the the homework. She never takes the homework up, but all the quizes come directly from the homework. She allows you to do group work which if you ask she will help. Fairly easy material. She also drops your lowest test grade in place of a make-up exam. I would really recommend taking her.
One of the worst Math teachers I have ever had in my life. Speeds through all the lessons; What she does cover, she won't go into detail, and when we have questions, she will ignore them. It's bad when a professor hands back an exam and tells the students that only 1 person out of 40 even passed, let alone got a good grade. Worst teacher ever.
Many people do not like her t but I do. If you come to class she gives you notes on a worksheet that are organized and you fill in the blanks during class. The tests come right from the review questions she will give you before it. There is alot of homework but it is helpful. People should stop complaining because she is great if you try in MAT 115
I have had her for two classes now. She is super nice and a good teacher but make sure that you listen and pay attention in class. She is willing to help you understand. If you are decent at math take her class and you will do well.
She seems scatter brained when answering question and doesn't want to take time to answer questions in class. She gives lots of homework that isn't very helpful for the tests. If you love math and go to class everyday, you'll probably be fine, but if not then do not take her!
She is so nice! I wasn't really looking forward to this class at first, but she made it super easy to get a good grade and is willing to help if you need it. She tends to be a little late, but it wasn't anymore than 5 or 10 minutes max. Even if you put some effort into her class, you'll pass easily.
I loved her! She was an awesome teacher. She explains everything very well, and attendance isn't always mandatory. She will let you know when there is a quiz so you can be in class for it. Awesome teacher overall.
She was not very helpful at all. Her classes were very boring. We didn't use the book at all. If you do the homework you will pass, but it is 3x as hard as class work. If your not good at math I don't recommend her.
I'm already pretty terrible in any type of math as it is, but this was an pretty awful class. If you mess up on one test your screwed. The online homework takes a ton of time, and barely helps your grade. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS.
This teacher is AWFUL she is confusing, not helpful I had to drop the classes becuase I was doing to bad, test are worth 80% of your over all grade , she gets defensive when u ask question .... She told a student in my class to "google it " becuase they didn't understand I don't know how she has a job still DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This teacher is awful , she is confusing, she talked 90 to nothing , she get defensive when you ask question ... She told a student in my class to " google it" because they did not understand what she was asking in a problem. I do not understand how she still has a job at Murray state she is the WORST teacher I have ever had do not take her !!!!
She is incredibly nice. Grades tests pretty leniently! She is high strung and cancelled class on short notice a few times. Will help you in any way she can and go over problems from homework in class if you ask. Would recommend for MAT220.
I feel very sorry for people coming into this class with no calculus background. I was fortunate enough to have taken Calc in high school and I'm pretty good with math so I have an A but there are others struggling because this professors does such a poor job of conveying the material in an effective manner. Avoid if you need to learn this material
She was okay. Dont get the textbook tho, you use mathxl, which for most, was what taught them. She doesnt respond to emails all the time and likes to complain about cellphones she sees. Is okay at explaining stuff.
Took this class last fall and am currently retaking it. If you don't have a calculus background don't take her class, she goes over concepts very fast and doesn't fully explain the reasoning behind how you find the answer. I found the class very confusing and hard to grasp the concepts. I recommend taking a different teacher
I like her as a person, but as a teacher, she is horrible. You never use your book and she always seemed scatter-brained during the lessons. I have always struggled with math, so this didn't help. If you can, take a different professor.
She will give you all the help you need on her spare time if you ask. It's hard not to get a good grade in her class if you go to class and try!
she's a really nice teacher and teaches pretty well. not very good with questions when you ask for help unless you come in during her office hours. she's willing to help but mostly learn everything on mathXL so i never attended class. she always takes attendance though
In front of the class she is very unclear with the information she is trying to teach. Many times she did not know how to do the work herself much less try to teach it. She can be helpful in a one on one setting at times.
So much homework & it's only 13% of your grade, so if you fail a test, you're screwed. She also gets really offended if you ask for help.
The homework was only worth 20% of your grade while the tests were worth 80%. She wasn't a very good teacher overall, there were days she did not even know how to do the material. She gets offended when you ask questions and doesn't clearly explain them well. She is a lot more helpful if you go up to her office.
She was way too into the class. Easy class, but she can get aggravating. Doesn't let you out of class early at all, even when her sick kid was in class with us. Test are a big part of your grade and all homework is online. DO NOT NEED TEXTBOOK, only MyMathLab.
Pritchett gets easily offended if you ask for help. She is very scatter brained and gets distracted easily. She will not let you out of class early and most of the time she runs over. If you struggle with math, I do not recommend taking her class. Save yourself the burden and take this course with someone else who will work with you.
Avoid her at all cost. Possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. Most of the time she cant explain how she got an answer, and on the tests marks off for everything.
I have always done really well with math (I'm an accounting major); however, she makes it VERY hard to not struggle in this class. She did let us use a note card on a test, but other then that be prepared to really study her study-guides in order to do well. She has a hard time explaining things in more then one way & gets frustrated.
She gives good notes and a study guide that is very helpful on the test. Also, don't buy the book for this class. I got it and on the first day of class she said we wouldn't be using it.
She does not do a great job explaining things. She gives lots of notes and hardly ever lets you out of class early. The only way I made an A in this class was by teaching myself how to do things on the homework site. Otherwise I would have struggled. She is not the best teacher, especially for people who do not grasp math well.
Oddly enough you have to go to class in order to pass, the homework is there to help you understand the concepts. Never had an issue with asking for more in-depth help.
Doesn't slow down the entire class for those who refuse to study and do homework.
This is an extremely fast paced class. I spent a lot of time outside of class with her for extra help, but she just tell you the answer and not how to get there. There is a lot of homework, but the study guides are almost identical to the test.
Dont take her!! She grades test way to hard, if you dont show something that is super simple you will get credit taken off.
She was okay when asking for help one on one, but will get frustrated that you arent understanding if you ask questions in class. You definitely have to teach yourself the concepts (even with the notes) to fully grasp the material. I passed with a C. If youre not a math person, you will struggle with the class (trust me. I did.)
Mrs. Pritchett is nice, but if you don't have any foundations in math you might encounter some difficulties. She assigns several homework assignments online through My Math Lab which is very frustrating. She offers a five point bonus on exams if you complete a practice test assignment.
All work is comprehensive. Attend class and follow her lectures and take notes. She's great about giving you everything you need to succeed in the class.
Literally love her omg. She does give extra homework out sometimes, but shes still great. Shes also super helpful during office hours, and if I didnt understand something, she was a great help. She is very adamant about attendance, though. Still my favorite proffesor!
She will not help you if you get stuck on an exam problem, so do your homework and know the material. She will occasionally give a quiz at the end of class, so attendance is mandatory.
Shes is way to fast when she teaches shell go through 1 lesson a day and expect you to know the equation and what you're doing. For exams you have nothing but a calculator and have to memorize all the equations from that lesson which is a lot.
I took this class as a replacement for a math class i dropped and she helped so much. she is very thorough and will help you if you need it. super nice, she does give homework but it usually isnt more than 10 minutes worth. definitely recommend :)
Teaches in really odd ways at times.
You have to pay attention but she was very nice and the tests are pretty much the exact same as the exam practice packets she gives. There is weekly mymathlab due but its not hard. She cancelled our final because she didnt think we were ready which everyone appreciated. She was also very easy to understand. I definitely recommend.
Ms Pritchett is an amazing teacher with bundles of examples and homework to nail the concepts learned in the class to prevail on tests. As long as you listen and take notes and do examples from lectures she will give you everything necessary to succeed on top of extra help that she gives out willingly at any time.
This class was a disaster, the first month of class was smooth sailing and only had one exam within the month period. Fast forward ahead, we had an exam every week and a half. It didn't matter if you knew the material or not she wasn't going off of her schedule. Also don't pay attention to her practice exams, they do no help for the real exam.
Ms. Pritchett's teaching style is all over the place. She'll explain things in ways that confuse people who even understand the concept. She assigns MyMathLab homework everyday and it can take you anywhere from 30mins to 2 hours to complete. Her tests were worth 70% of the grade and were harder than any of the examples or homework given beforehand.
I really enjoyed having Ms. Pritchett. She was fairly clear on everything, although she can go very fast at times because of the limited time in the classroom. She was always available for questions, really flexible when outside circumstances impacted our ability to study, and was a way to wake up in my morning because she moved so quickly!
Dr.Pritchett is an amazing person and very accessible, but sometimes her lectures feel weird and so boring. Towards the end of the semester, lectures start to get heavier and more boring. She is very enthusiastic and sometimes feels like she is still teaching to high school kids.
I remember coming on here before my first semester started and all I read was that she moves very fast through material. And i've only had her class for about 6 weeks now and I can definitely agree. Every class, we do practically an entire section of a unit and after 2 weeks you have a 5 page exam on 3 chapters. Good Luck studying for that.
Her teaching style is not effective. You can have one homework assignment one question can take you an hour and up to 5 pieces of paper. The test in her class are worth 70% of your grade so no matter how good you do on the rest it doesnt even matter. She does not explain in her lectures she just solves the problems and expects you to understand it.
This class was extremely hard and professor Pritchett was never really much help. She would breeze through topics that would be on the exam and slow down on things that were not going to be tested on.
April Pritchett is definitely one of my favorite math teachers. I was able to understand her teaching fairly easily, and her office hours are very flexible for anyone who might need help. She also provided many resources for tutoring and opportunities for extra credit. She is a very cheerful and kind person, and I enjoyed having her as a professor.
Dr. Pritchett was an okay professor. If you are a fast learner, you should be fine, but she moves extremely quickly. Her class is weighted 74% test scores so DO NOT FAIL A TEST or you won't pass her class. She does give a lot of homework but is willing to help you through it if you take the time outside of class.
Definitely one of my favorite math professors. Very good at explaining. She uses MyMathLab like most of the other math professors. Study guides are in the same format as the tests. Gives notes for you to fill out and follow along with in class. Definitely recommend!
I don't like her teaching and lots of homework!
Moves too quickly between units. Tests are usually very similar to the practice ones. Lots of homework and papers will be given, so be aware.
I had a great experience with Mrs. Pritchett. My math skills are very weak, but her extra help saved my grade. She even was willing to work with me on weekends when I needed it. I 100% recommend her!
April's class moves quickly, but her clear explanations and willingness to help make it manageable. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for preparing for her tests.
Moves very fast and not in a clear and concise manner. Lots of MyMathLab assignments, about three a week. If you have any other choices especially with a higher up class like Trig, take someone else. Very nice person, but overall not clear.
She is rude, unkind, and completely the opposite of understanding. I missed several classes due to personal reasons and she never answered my emails. She emailed me once back about a question for an assignment and her response was "actually attend class and bring it to me". She never responded to my requests for extra help or tutoring.
She moves very fast but she is always willing to help you one on one and overall cares about her students. You have lots of my math lab assignments and some take home work the test are pretty similar to the practice she gives. She also makes it clear about what you need to study and information you need to know! 10/10 would recommend!
She gives one to two papers or packets every time we met for class (Monday - Friday)
Everyone was way too hard on this professor. After taking her class, I'm happy I took her. She's an incredibly sweet lady, and genuinely cares for her students. She gives a good load of homework, but is always happy to help and is super great for office hours. I genuinely recommend her. I cannot understand all the bad reviews!
Teaches very similar to a high school teacher, in a bad way
Although she cares about her students, she cannot for the life of her grade anything in a timely manner. She has a very scattered brain, and it comes across in her teaching and grading. We take our final tomorrow and she is just now grading assignments from Labor Day weekend. Please take this with any other professor.
