I took her class as an online/ hybrid class and it was without a doubt one of the easiest classes i have every taken. All of her tests come straight from the modules and the speeches were awesome because you had free reign to choose almost any topic you wanted. If you take speech definitely take Prof Raneri's class

Very friendly and helpful teacher. I dreaded this class and she made it fun. Grades well and is extremly fair. Do the assignments and go to class and you are sure to get an A!

Assignments were fun and interesting. She will work with you on ANY issue or stumbling block. Presents online course very clearly, no confusion. (some courses are really all over the place with instructions)I wish all of my courses were as straight forward. I was dreading this class but she made it work for me. Thanks Professor Raneri!

The teacher was very clear and understandable, and the course itself was favorably straightfoward. I learned a lot about speech in this course, it was a great experience, and Ms. Raneri is the best professor I've had at Valencia so far.

I took this online course and it was very easy. She wants you to succeed and learn to give speeches. She is a little slow at getting grades back and slow at responding to emails but it was not alot of work and she grades good.

As a dual enrollment student: very informative and helpful teacher. A little held back unless you talk with her. Speech is alway intimidating but she wont stare at you so that you have a more natural grading effort. Shes very sarcastic and sometime a bit cold. She also takes away points for not paying attension: texting, makeup, looking somewhere

She is hands down one of the best professor I have had at Valencia. She is honest and likes to have fun in class. Speech is a very nerve racking subject for me but she made all of us feel comfortable and gave amazing tips! Her reviews are the exact replica of test so make sure you write everything down!

This class is super easy and April is probably the best teacher ever... The actual material taught puts you to sleep, but the way it's presented makes it pretty fun. If you want to distract April from the lesson just start talking about either conspiracy theories or The Walking Dead. Good luck! (P.S. Always use the Shazam app on the review games)

Excellent class, I was super nervous about public speaking, and this class has helped ease my fear. I learned tons in this class. Go to class, do the extra credit, and you Will earn an A. Wonderful Professor.

Super Easy. Must work to earn your grade. She helped me get over my fear of speaking in public. She responds quickly to your emails and I even passed the class after failing one of the tests, and passed with an A+. She is really good. Take her and you will learn Lots.

Professor Raneri was one of the best teachers I have had.She was organized and kept to her lesson plans as stated in her syllabus.Even though she is a bit sarcastic it is funny and is directed to people she thinks can take it or deserve it. Her work is clear and she does her job. I completely understand everything I was suppose to learn.

Good teacher, funny, easy class!!

Professor Raneri is a good teacher and is good at explaining things. Her class was fun, easy and informative. Just study her study guides and you'll do great on the multiple choice tests. One thing I didn't like was that she cancelled class often. She also sent emails reminding you of things two hours before class instead of the day before.

Took this class online & it was an easy A, just get an audience of 5 members, record your speech and you should do well. There's only 3 speeches, a few discussions and 2 exams! Seriously, take her!

Don't waste your money on the book because we never used it. She prints out PP but you need to take notes because there are test questions not answered in the PP. Speech length and professional dress are the most important elements of the speech grades. Prof. Raneri is a super nice lady, compassionate grader, and an understanding instructor.

I liked the class, Professor Raneri was interesting to listen to. She can be rather cold, so don't waste your best jokes on her *crickets* but she's not there to be your friend. I recommend her class, very fun. If you miss more than 2 classes, she deducts 5 points for every missed class. Don't get the book, save your money.

I loved taking Professor Raneri's class. The class helped me a lot with public speaking and it was easy. She is not a tough grader. As long as you follow the grading criteria you will get an A. If you do this class online, you will need at least an audience of five people. She does not give a lot of work and she is very organized. She's amazing!

Good teacher. It's an easy A if you follow all of her directions for your speeches. You only have to give three easy speeches in front of a group of five people (friends, family, or other classmates - it's up to you). If you have to take speech, this is a good teacher to get it over with.

The class consists of multiple journal entries and discussion posts (reply to 2 other classmates) that reflects off of the reading. There's also a 50-question test after a bunch of chapters (which are all on Quizlet). And as for a speech class, you have to film ONE 6-8 min Informative Speech with an audience of 5 towards the end of the class. Easy.

I was very worried about taking speech class so I took it online. Taking it with Raneri was the best decision I ever made! Only 3 speeches, 7 discussions, 2 exams & also extra credit too. Only downfall is you have to present PowerPoints in 2 speeches, so if you're online class; make sure you have what you need or use the speech labs at Valencia.

Great professor and very caring.

At first I was super nervous for this class because I had not done a lot of public speaking, but after my first speech it was actually a fun class! She provides helpful tips for speaking, and we played some fun speaking games. She would help when I asked for it, but she was not overly helpful. I would take her class again!

I took her online speech class, and boy it was easy. Everything is in the power points, don't buy the book. Easy grader, stress free class. I totally recommend her if you are trying to get an easy A.

Easy A for sure. Just do your assignments before 10 AM on Sunday and you will get the full grade! 6 discussion posts, 3 journal entries (1 page long, double spaced), 3 tests(25 questions each), 1 final (50 questions) and your final is a 6 min speech video.

Easy A. Course is well organized, week by week. Typically just the just discussion board and looking over power points. 3 speeches in all that you have to submit. There is no need for the textbook. The mid-term and final come straight from the provided power points. Do the required assignments and you're guaranteed an A.

She is a very nice teacher, has good stories to tell, and knows how to keep the class awake. The class itself is not hard, if you read the textbook and listen well in class.

Such an easy class. 1 quiz, 1 extra credit, 2 exam, 3 speeches, 7 discussions. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!! All the notes are given through power points. There's like 2 assignments but that's about it. She's well organized and she grades fairly. Just do the work and you'll pass the class. Easy A.

This class is so easy you basically have to work to fail. But it's totally possible. People think that because there's so little to turn in that they can slack. Sorry, no. You have to show up to class and put forth minimal effort to pass. Don't show up and don't read the chapters before the test? You will fail. No excuse to fail, but you can.

Book material is boring. Discussions are easy. Prof. let's you pick any topic for speech, so that was nice. Assignments due @ 10 AM on Sundays which sucked for me personally, but not the end of the world. You have to read the book to do well on Tests, but it's easy enough that you don't have study the material. Overall, would recommend prof & class

She's a great teacher. She's very laid back but kind of demanding at the same time. She grades easily and her tests are fairly easy if you read the notes and through the book at least once. No pop quizzes, only one group group project, and one speech.

shes amazing! she is very serious when needed, but she is very nice and is willing to help, she lets you out early a lot and it is an interesting class, the textbook is not used in class but the test comes right from the book.

3 speeches required or you will not pass the class. She's a fair grader, but takes a while to do so. She made a anxiety ridden class calming. I would take her again.

I liked Prof Raneri's course, but she can be hard to read. She was pretty laid back, but also frequently mentioned "punishment" you could receive for not paying attention, not attending class, etc. She never enforced, however. She is a fair grader, and the class is easy as long as you do the assignments. Slow grade updates: only 3x entire semester.

Professor Raneri is really cool. She is sweet. Her class was easy and, she helps with speech anxiety. She's an easy grader. Just show up to class, take notes when she goes over power points.

Easily one of the best professors I've had at Valencia. She's a genuinely caring person. The book she has for the class is cheap and actually really interesting. Super understanding, patient, and positive. I wish she could teach all of my classes. Or maybe she could teach other professors how to be a good professor.

Professor Raneri was pretty cool. She takes some time to grade things but is usually pretty good about responding to messages in canvas. Took her speech class online and everything was pretty clear for the most part.

Prof. Raneri made a speech class fun. That says a lot. She's sort of an easy grader if you put at least some effort. She has great sense of humor and cares about her students. We didn't use the textbook once in her class. Also, she has an extra credit opportunity open throughout the whole semester if you ever need it.

Professor April was great. Took her class Spring 2020, so when we transitioned to online, I missed having the in class lectures. She handed out the PP presentation in a note packet to add stuff onto. If your memory isn't great, you'll have to look over them for the exams. Overall, she was super lenient and will work with you. Interesting class, fun

I took this class online and it was very clear. We had to do discussion posts every week and had to look at the powerpoints and read the textbook. We were also allowed to choose our own topics on speeches (Persuasive, Informative, and the If Speech). There were only two tests which were the final and the midterm. However, she does grade slowly.

Class was taken online, graded by a couple of written assignments along with a couple of discussions. Criteria is pretty straightforward, the class has one speech at the end of the semester, under regular circumstances you need to have an audience of a couple adults in the video however due to COVID the rule was waived for the spring 2020 term.

Professor Raneri was a very helpful professor and had clear grading criteria. The class is well organized and the due dates for assignments were reasonable for the 6 weeks we had. For the summer 2020 term, we didn't have to have an audience because of COVID-19 but it was supposed to be 5 adults. Other than speeches there are discussions and EC.

I took this class online over the summer. There were very few assignments that then led up to the final speech which can be on any topic of your choice. I just recorded my face, did not require an audience, and I spoke for roughly 5 minutes, and got an A. Professor Raneri gives great feedback. This is overall a very straightforward and easy class.

Just take her! She posts the textbook on Canvas, so there is no need to buy one. This class isn't very heavy duty but if for any reason you have a low grade in her class she offers extra credit. You will definitely learn about speech in this class. There shouldn't be a reason why you don't pass her class with an A+

She is an awesome professor, lectures were very helpful. Professor gives all tools necessary to pass you just have to get your work done. There is a bit of reading but nothign too crazy. Feedback is not as specific as one would prefer but still helps out when needed. Great professor and great class. As long as assignmenets are done you will pass.

I enjoyed this class. Due to COVID situation the speech was online, recorded and we were not required to have an audience. I only wished she would give feedback with her grading to understand and know where one can improve.

Took this class online, so we had to record ourselves giving a speech, which made things much easier. Best part is, she gave us the textbook free online. A really fun class.

Easy class to get an "A". Just TURN IN YOUR ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME! Not sure why some students whine about classes when they turn in stuff late. Professor Raneri answers your questions, easy to work with and I love how she cares about students. Just do the reading/working, turn in things on time, EASY A. Don't blame Professors!

Great professor! Easy class with only 3 speeches. You get to choose your topics based on the speech purpose. You submit outlines for the speech and two powerpoints for the last two speeches. Speech times go up with each speech but only deducts 5 points if you're under. Take her, you won't regret it.

Dr Raneri is amazing! There are only 3 speeches and you pick your topic based on the speech type. She understands public speaking isnt for everyone and gives a clear outline so youll get a good grade if you follow it. Also a mid term and final both super easy too. Highly recommend if you need the credit and are looking for an easy going class.

I avoid public speaking at all costs and was dreading having to take a speech class. Take her. She is amazing. The class included 3 speeches, 4 simple discussions, A midterm and final that were both very straight forward and she also gives extra credit opportunities. The syllabus has all the due dates from day one and she is a super fair grader.

She's pretty chill Professor. The module is 5 discussions, 3 chapter tests, 3 journal entries, no mid term exam, 1 final exam, power point speech, flip grid, and 1 speech presentation. It's an easy A in my opinion. She is happy to help by all means necessary. Take her for intermediate speech.

Overall, a pretty good professor. Not a lot of homework, but she does not give feedback. She will respond if you message her though. The class was not difficult at all. Would recommend this professor!

Professor Raneri is great at teaching speech. She gave the kids in her class the courage to stand (even if it's in front of a camera) and give a speech. She gives a rubric for each speech type and lets you know what she expects from you. If you miss one speech, she will give you a zero in the class. However, there are only 3 speeches. Take her.

I've always hated giving speeches but this professor makes the class fun and easy. There's only three speeches (what if, informative, and persuasive) but you get to choose the topic. As long as you put good effort into the class and read/watch the material, it is an easy A. The midterm/final are pretty hard but doable (and there's extra credit).

Just do yourself a favor and take the class, it was such an easy A we didn't even have class or any assignments due for like a month. I didn't even use the textbook and you can find most of the information off the powerpoint or just basic common sense. The assignments we did have were super chill and she's an easy grader. the final was cake!

It is an easy A if you follow the rubric for speeches and do the discussions. Also, professor Raneri gives extra credit if you do some extra activities, which are super easy. I would recommend her! The book is online, so you don't have to spend extra money on that.

Ms. Raneri had a great outline for the course, made it easy to follow and to understand. I didn't really have any contact with her as everything is doable without contacting her. Easy A as long as you participate and meet the requirements for each speech recording.

This was my 3rd time taking this class and dr raneri really worked with me to get over my anxiety. You do have to come to class, but she will help make the class not so stressful,

Easy fun class

The tests are a little difficult. Textbook is free as a pdf but its a ton of reading. There was only one speech. It wasn't too hard but the site wouldn't load on canvas in safari and the teacher didn't let anyone one know. I only found out because I email her that I couldn't get it to work. Aside from that though the class was pretty easy.

Amazing professor, not too harsh of a grade. She gave two extra credit assignments and most of the weight was from 3 speeches that had to be recorded. The final exams did not have much weight at all. Assignments can be turned in late if given a valid excuse.

Dr. Raneri is very understanding that speech is a required course at Valencia. Recording speeches at home was somewhat difficult as videos needed the student to be fully visible next to their presentation. All three speeches are required for you to pass the class. The midterm had a few essay questions while the rest were all multiple-choice.

oh my god, this was my easiest course of the year. There's like 3 short speeches you have to do with a like 3 actual assignments. The assignment/extra credit includes listening to 3-20 minute speeches (that you can play in 2x speed) which are interesting. Your speeches are also pretty much just copies of your outline so you have little work.

3 main speeches, extra credit opportunities. She is a tough grader and will take points off during the speech videos.

She was pretty understanding and flexible with deadlines when I needed extensions. Everything was clear and straightforward.

This professor is absolutely wonderful and always attentive to each student making sure we understand the concepts. She will help you succeed and could even become your best friend in any speech class, 200000% recommended.

This wasn't an easy class for me but I did well because of the extra credit and the fact Dr Ranari accepted some items redone for full credit. I was appreciative of the late work being accepted so I could end with a good grade.

Professor Raneri was amazing professor, she was going through a difficult time herself, but she still graded and taught the class provided resources. It was the easiest class ever, few speeches and assignments, and the final speech was the small outline you already made. Her lecture videos are interesting, you can put them in 2x speed.

3 speeches a midterm and final. this class was super easy just do the speeches and you will get an A!

Better than I expected since I hate talking and speeches. She made it comfortable and easy.

3 video speeches (2 you have to use sources & ppts/visual aids). longest speech = 8-10 minutes. you review other student speeches. midterm = 34 mult choice & 3 short-answer. final = 25 mult choice. test questions depend on her powerpoints & the textbook (was hard to navigate & the assigned chapters are LONG). textbook readings were so insufferable.

VERY EZ class! Read abt 1-2 paragraphs, PowerPoint and do a discussion almost every week. Some assignments and tests, 1 speech and final. Chill, may take a bit to respond + laidback grader, will give extensions if needed and very understanding. Overall, one of the easiest classes.

Professor Raneri is a good teacher -- she's kind, gives clear feedback, and offers extra credit. It's hard to fail her class as long as you stay on top of the work. The content is a bit boring, but that's not her fault; she made it manageable. If you're just trying to fulfill the credit requirement, I definitely recommend taking her.

She is a great professor! Class was an easy A with great short video lectures based on lesson slides she provides. You have a easy final project at the end of the course but it is so easy it doesnt even feel like a project. Learned a lot and had a good experience!
