You have to love Mrs. VanCamp! She's very smart, helpful and interesting. If you need help, she'll help you. I wish more of my classes could be taught by her.

She challenges you to be a better writter and think more about the meaning of things you read. There is a good amount of reading but as long as you dont procrastinate you are fine. She helps you whenever you need it and is very clear in class. Her tests are fairly easy as long as you have read the material and pay attention in class.

I wish I had taken her for 1102 because I missed her when I wasn't able to get her. She's great and does bring a lot of excitement to the subject. I had an eight o'clock class with her and if she was able to make my mind work that early in the morning, then she's got to be good! (ha ha) You'll be doing yourself a favor by taking one of her classes.

I absolutley LOVED her ...she made school fun but it is a lot of hard work and she wants the very best. She is a well educated and energetic woman who can get you mind stimulated..i also took her in a condensed class.

Mrs. Van Camp was very Enthusiastic in her teaching. She brightens the classes up with her wit and humor. Her grades are fair, though, she may show her disapproval on an assignment's view or opinion by it's gradings. (only if it's extreme. i.e.:Male shovanistic rants, racism, etc.)

Amazing teacher. Willing to help you with anything via e-mail when not in class, and is very prompt with answering questions. She makes the class enjoyable, especially when it's a 2.5 hour class once a week.

I took her for Children's Lit and found the class so enjoyable. Basically we write about each chapter in a blog like discussion. Final was clear and so much fun. She is very approachable and understanding. I also had her for another class (not virtual) and loved it even more than this one. If you can get her as a teacher...you will thank me =)

Very nice teacher, cares about students. Her material isn't hard, but a lot of it to keep you busy on weekends. Lots of essays. Yet she is a great teacher, who motivates you into doing better than you think you can. Just pay attention in class, and you'll do good on the tests.

Van Camp is very helpful, even when you are no longer in her class. She gladly helps any previous student of hers with future essays they must write for other classes.

Mrs.VanCamp is an excellent teacher, very thorough, makes english interesting,and really cares about her students. The class is not an "easy A" but if you pay attention, turn in all of your work, and show up for tests, you will be fine. The big assignment in her class is reading a novel and writing a research paper. I Definently recommend her!!!

Mrs. V was the best english teacher ever. I took her for 1101 & 1102. She kept her clas fun and interesting. She always had everyone laughing. Attendance IS mandatory. Her essays are not the best but she helps you out as much as possible. I LOVED her.

I took for her 1101&1102 because she's such a great teacher. Shes caring and understanding, and will help anyone with any trouble they are having. Its not an easy 'A', but if you work hard youll be sure to get one. She's really funny, and I would reccomend her to EVERYONE!!!

She is a very cool teacher with a fun personality. I don't recommend taking her during the summer. She is assignment happy and it is very easy to get overwhelmed. She is a pretty tough grader so make sure to start early and give yourself time to revise. If you stay on top of things and go to class then you will do fine. She makes class interesting.

AVC is absolutely amazing!! I have her for ENC1101 and she is possibly the best instructor for the english language.. I honestly hated english as a subject but she made it enjoyable! You can tell that she really loves her job. All students I kno that take her class love it. Plus she is really good lookin... Not like others who are old and ugly.. =)

Online class, Childrens Literature- the best professor and course I have taken! This is a must class for education majors and a great elective choice if you need one!The text book is a must(and a keeper!)I highly recommend Dr Van Camp!

I enjoyed AVC's online Children's Lit class. She's a very nice person and the class is interesting/fun! I would take a class with her again. My only complaints: 1. She didn't make it clear that we had to reply to someone else's intro, so many of us got a 50% on that. 2. No personal feedback on the big project. Great teacher/class overall though!

Dr. Van Camp is the best teacher! Her class is a lot of work but she makes it enjoyable. She's such a nice person and is always willing to help. The first essay and the midterm are not too bad, but the second essay is REALLY tough and the final is pretty hard. Overall a great teacher--I would recommend Dr. Van Camp for any class that she teaches!

Dr. Van Camp is a great teacher who really cares about her students and tries to help them all be successful writers. She will make you work but she will keep you entertained so it doesn't feel so much like work! She grades fairly based on what you turn in. She is probably the best teacher at IRSC and everyone should take her if they are able to!

I have had her for three different courses I loved her. She truly does care about her students. She may grade hard on essays, but its excellent criticism and helps improve your writing and knowledge. I'm no longer a student at IRSC, but I continue to stay in touch with her and seek guidance. You won't regret signing up for her classes.

I took her online course. Some tests were a bit tricky but overall she was a good teacher. Wrote a few essays and did some tests ..video at end was not too hard either. I recommend her

I really liked her at first but then it went downhill. She ignored a few of my e-mails and sometimes came off a bit rude to me. Don't get me wrong though, the class is fun and she is a doll overall. I took it online and you only have to go to the lab for the final exam, I LOVED that. Passed with a B without banging my head against the wall.

Van Camp is an awesome teacher with a great sense of humor and is very enthusiastic about what she does. She doesn't tolerate class disruptions though, so plan on paying attention and not chatting with other students when she's trying to speak. Lots of essays, pay attention to formatting. Not an easy class, but not too difficult either.

She was an alright teacher. I took her online for summer 1 and she hardley responded to my emails and the class discussion board. She has a slick mouth and sometimes can be unprofessional(from my own experience). Overall class was not to bad, just alot of writing.

I had Dr. Van Camp for Children's Lit online. I really enjoyed her class. You have to read the chapters and study before you take the quizzes online. Just make sure you don't run out of time when you take the test because you only get one chance to take it. The final project required alot of work but I really enjoyed it.

She is very excited about English and her enthusiasm makes being in class enjoyable. She has a good sense of humor which also helps you remember the material. There are 5 essays, one is optional and the final is an oral (if not online) and research paper. Very very helpful if you ask her for it; she loves to help students who put forth an effort.

Wonderful teacher. She was very helpful and respectful of everyone in the class. Discussions and quizzes are frequent but if you read the sections in the book, you'll be fine. No need to go to an IRSC campus for anything. Final Project was fun and she is very supportive of everyone. She complimented my work all the time & it was great! Lovely woman

I took two online classes, LIT2120 and ENL2022 with her. She's very helpful and will do anything for her students! Loved her classes, even though it was a lot of reading. I ended with an A and a B in both classes. Take her if you want a great class and teacher, but do not slack off or it will come back to bite you!

Took this class online. Professor Van Camp is easily my favorite teacher. SO helpful, smart, and has a personality unlike most professors. Be prepared to work. Don't be lazy. If you put in effort you will do well!

Van Camp is a wonderful teacher! I would absolutely love to be able to take ENC1102 with her. We only did four three-page-essays through the semester (each one was fairly easy), minor reading, enthusiastic teacher, and simply the best class I could ask for. You will have so many "Ah-ha!" moments. Oh and she walks around the classroom barefoot.

Professor Van Camp is WONDERFUL. I took her for ENC1101. Four essays throughout the semester. You have to really understand the reading material to be able to pass her quizzes oh which she gives every class so SHOW UP EVERY CLASS. She's always there if you have any questions. She also gives alot of extra credit. i would definitely recommend her.

April van Camp is a wonderful teacher. She is to the point and does not mess around. There are daily assignments that cannot ever be made up so attendance is a must. She is strict but she does it with love. You will learn so much. Its definitely worth the extra effort

writing assignments were very vague.. if you have a job even if its part time do not take unless u are really good at scheduling time.. Plenty of assignments to do.. paper after paper.. Now shes nice and is willing to help. but class is still very difficult..

I really loved her as a professor! She's great a teaching, but I found her course difficult. There were lot of assignments that were hard to keep up with. Sometimes she was very lenient on grades and gave out free 100s, and then other times not. It was hard to know what to expect from her. I really learned a lot though, I just hated the course load

She's a nice lady, but I felt like she didn't prepare us enough for the amount of assignments throughout the semester. I'm not much of creative thinker, and I found she was bias a bit towards that. I felt like she expected us to understand everything we read and pick up on all the small details.I'd only take her if you're an english major.

Only con is the large course load. Not a tough grader as long as you make sense of what you're writing, and try a little. She makes class interesting, and you'll learn a lot. If you can stay on top of things, and don't mind reading then take her. But if you're a slacker don't take her, unless you want to fail

Van Camp is such a sweetheart and she really knows her literature. She does give a lot of work but if you're devoted you can easily pass. She's not a tough grader if you put what you've learned in eng1 to use. Theres a lot of reading, hw, and a few essays but they're not difficult. She gives ALOT of extra credit and truly cares about you passing

Easy class as long as you follow and pay attention to her feedback. I fumbled in the beginning of the class otherwise I would've had an A. I suck at writing papers, but with her feedback from our discussion posts it made the semester essay easier to write. She gives you a lot of resources to read through for help & she always responds to emails.

Really nice and helpful. Essays were hard; she expects excellence, but if she knows you're putting in the work she'll guide you through writing better essays.

Prof. VanCamp took over our class when our teacher went missing. I must say, she came in with a very positive and understanding attitude of our frustrations. She answered every question that was asked & got up to date on grading our work. She is very inspirational, encouraging & wants to see you succeed. Couldn't have asked for a better instructor!

I had her in the spring and I loved her! She grades very fair. If you're a slacker and looking for an easy A, don't take her. If you're looking to learn from someone take her! She's humorous, and wants you to succeed! It was a tough class, but the end of it was rewarding.

Dr. Van Camp is an amazing teacher. She is extremely helpful and her lectures are super detailed. Students who are visual-spatial will especially benefit from her teaching style as she writes almost everything on the board and explains MLA format. Don't EVER walk in even ONE minute after class starts if you like yourself. Learned that the hard way.

Make sure you read the textbook because all the quiz questions are on people who said things. I went in and circled every persons name that came up so I didn't have to sort through things.

I love professor Van Camp. She is very passionate about her job. I don't think I've ever met another professor like her. She does give homework essays but she is very helpful if you have any questions. If you respect her she respects you. I would deff recommend her! She's amazing!:)

Prof Van Camp is very passionate on what she is teaching. She definitely knows her stuff. Many quizzes but very simple if you read what is assigned. Tough class so don't expect an A without working for it. Learned a lot in this class and would take again!

Dr. Can Camp's class is definitely not an easy A, so if you are looking for that, don't take her class. She makes you WORK for it. However, although I've never worked this hard in a class, it has been very rewarding for my learning. She is extremely passionate, gives great lectures, is inspiring and genuinely cares. I highly recommend this class!!!

She consistently found something to complain about for my assignments, but never gave me a suggestion to fix it. Her final project is to create a week long lesson plan, and I must say that considering this is an undergrad, ELECTIVE class, this project was too much. We had little to no guidance in this project, pretty much just thrown into it.

If you want an easy A this is not the class for you but if you want to learn and improve your writing take her. She grades tough but if you show you tried and you talk to her you will do just fine.

I love professor Van Camp! I found that it's extremely hard to get an A on a paper. She definitely grades honestly but fair at the same time. English is a tricky subject for me and even with putting in a good amount of effort I still walked away with a B. You really have to go above and beyond for an A. But I do not regret taking her at all!

She was very cool about me missing a few assignments and during Spring break gave the class a chance to make up missed work. She's a very involved professor and is quick to respond back to emails. Definitely recommend her for any sort of English type courses.

NOT an easy teacher, by any means. Lectures were often scattered and confusing, as were grades. However, her assignments were creative genius... The way she made us apply what we had read/learned *so* enhanced comprehension. Can't say I'd take her again, but she was inspiring and I will use many of her tactics as I become an English teacher myself.

She's a great professor. She has a way of explaining things to the class and getting them to stick, also she gives handouts on what you're learning at that time and the answers to her tests/quizzes are on there. Get ready to write.

Dr. Van Camp has my heart. 3 I took her for ENC1101 and it was the best decision of my life. ENC1102 rolled around and I took her again. She gives the best lectures ever and she's super helpful in corrections when she grades. She's very stern though. dOn't eVer be late ever if you like yourself. Honestly the sweetest teacher ever. If you do your work she'll like you and work with you on your grade. She doesn't give you the chance to fail. The homework is to read two excerpts from the text and the next morning you take a quiz with an occasional essay online but other teachers give way more essays. You won't regret taking her at all.

this teacher is so sweet... funny, works with you & gives you a lot of chances. I like English, so her class wasn't hard, we didn't read a whole bunch but if you did there was a quiz the next day that's so easy and she usually gives out free A's. I skipped her class all the time and started to slack off but she still wanted to help me.

She's amazing. Tough, but amazing. Do notttttt come to class even one minute late because you will get a 0 for that days quiz. You also have quizzes every class but she seriously is amazing. I ended the class with a 89.72. Like I said, it's really tough.

Class is really easy. There is barely homework. Reading responses and quizzes are really easy. She is also motivational and her videos are very helpful.

She is a great teacher because she knows her stuff and is very loving to her students. Just make sure that you build a good connection with her. If You show her that you want to be there and are involved and do assignments it will go well. If you know that you can't be on time 100% of the time, DO NOT take the class.

Dr. VanCamp is the BEST! Super sweet, super kind, and if you just do the assignments she gives great feedback and grades. I ended up with a 98 in her class. Midterm was the only test I had to take at the testing center. She is definitely there for you to succeed and pass.

Van Camp was the best teacher i've ever had. There were a lot of papers and reading assigned but she made it easy to understand. Quizzes every class on the reading which made it easy to pick up your grade! You have to show effort in her class but she really cares about every student she has. Please take her for ENC1101!!

She is the nicest teacher ever. So sweet. The work for English 2 was really difficult for me. She explained everything so nothing was her fault, I just have a hard time with writing thesis and doing projects on old literature!! She will help you with anything and will make sure you know what you're doing.

She's a really good professor. She's very encouraging and gives a lot of feed back on essays. There were 3 essays, 9 short response answers, and a few quizzes, all were very easy. Also responds to emails very quick, sometimes within seconds.

I loved this class. She was professional, but approachable. She was kind and cared about her students and gave us all the tools we needed to succeed. She was engaging in her lectures and was very fair in her grading.

I have taken Professor Van Camp both in person and online. Her online classes are structured like most are, but she gives lots of feedback, responds to inquiries quickly, sends a group message every module, and let us take the final exam at home. She makes you feel almost like you are in the physical class. But don't take her class for an easy A.

Great teacher! shes a little weird. She gives multiple changes to get things done. She has quizzes every time you walk into her! So dont be late or shell wont let you take it!

Pretty easy class online, just do the assignments and understand the readings. Sometimes she responds fast. Pretty normal professor, no real complaints here or anything shocking. You put in the work, you get good grades. She gives ample time to get assignments done, often two weeks per module. If anything confuses you, just email. She doesn't bite.

Dr. Van camp was always available to me when needed. With it being online she was very prompt with grading assignments. She does offer extra credit at the end of course. I would take a class with this professor again.

This professor provides incredibly detailed feedback and truly seems to care about each of her students. Her course is a good bit of work (as is any ENC 1101 class), but she makes it a lot easier with her willingness to help.

Professor Van Camp was quite helpful, taking the time and effort to specifically look over my papers and assignments and advise me on what would best fix my previous errors. The grading was always appropriate and she took great care to update the class and ensure we knew what each assignment/module required.

Professor Van Camp is an exemplary english professor. She works hard for her students without question. I haven't seen better constructive criticism to date. All of the input and feedback she gives WILL force you to become a better writer and eliminate various flaws you did not recognize. She will work with you as long as you put in the effort.

I took this class online and when I had issues or confusion about a particular assignment she was there to help. Her grading criteria might be confusing to some but once you read through it carefully you'll understand how she grades. She was very quick to answer any of my emails and I would definitely take her class again.

Everything you need to know: Time strict (no late work taken), Daily attendance quizzes for assigned readings (if you're late to lecture you cannot take the quiz - even if you're a second late), Lectures are engaging, Online essays and in class essay are regular, Group work was frequent, All feed back was helpful. Not punctual? Wouldn't recommend.

Amazing professor! She responded within 10 minutes to whatever questions I asked even late at night. She treated me like one of her own children. She actually told me that she is proud of me and would send me emails with encouraging messages when I took a test or submitted a paper.

English really isn't my greatest class but with Dr. Van Camp as my professor, I received an A. If you send an email to her, she will respond within a few minutes and help out a lot. Professor Van Camp is great. There is no textbook just an online software(inexpensive). Be sure to participate and reach out to her with ANY questions. She really wants her students to pass and if you put in effort youll be good. Lumen quizzes are a bit difficult but not bad. Just show up and like with any class you have to want to do well.

Amazing professor. One of the many professors I would take again. She is very kind and caring. Van Camp truly cares about her students as if they were her own. She told me to reach out to her even when class finished because she loves learning about her students' lives. She will grade you on attendance; she gives attendance pop quizzes.

She was my first professor after I graduated high school 15 years ago and was amazing. Very thorough, and amazing communication skills. She probably didn't intend to provide me motivation to continue my education, but she did via email since it was an online class. Hoping to have her again in the future.
