Great instructor. She was very helpful in understanding the material from her lectures and texbook.
April is extremely nice and helpful, and she totally knows how to make a class that requires a ton of memorization very relaxed. she goes over all the difficult info in the material and leaves the rest for you to get from the book, but she is very straight foward, all you have to is pay attention and you will pass no problem.
April is one of the best teachers!!! As long as you pay attention and do the journals every week you will pass!! She always gives extra credit points on every test!! And 2 opinions to get extra credit during the quarter! Best teacher ever!
It is impossible to get less than an A in either her 100 or 200 level classes.
April is a fun teacher. She incorporates group activities, videos, and discussions into her lecture. Team quizzes are a team effort and quite easy. Midterm and finally are a bit more difficult but a good grade can be earned if enough study time is used. She is really nice and approachable. She may give chances for extra credit too.
Awesome teacher! To get anything less than an A out of her class (100 or 200 level), you really have to go out of your way. She gives TONS of extra credit, even on the midterm and final. She makes class as fun and interactive as possible and always asks for suggestions on how she can make things better or if you liked activities. Great prof!
Great teacher and good class, not to much of a workload
She is very nice and teaches to every learning style. The workload isn't a lot so it's manageable. She makes the class fun with lots of activities and relevant videos.
Want to get an A? Actually do the work and no problem; I got over 100% there's so much extra credit. Plus she brough in oreos, candy, and chips before our midterm and final. Booya.
April is amazing and js really helpful. She makes sure tbat your questions are answered as fully as possible. you have to try hard to get a bad grade. just show up for class and do the homework you get an A.
She was the best teacher i have ever had.. she was extremely helpful. advice: study the vocab words and the midterm study guides and final vocab words and study guides she gives.. If you do this and show up to class to get points for quizes you should get an A+ in the class... Easy class... and you leran a lot, i was surprised actually!
She is a great teacher if you want to get involved with the class, if you need help you can contact her and she will get to you as soon as she can. She makes everything fun that she can, and her workload isn't very hard. Her tests cover a lot of information so watch out for those. Also she's not bad to look at.
She was really great! Lots of extra credit opportunities and she really wants you to learn the concepts! She intergrates you tube a lot and fun movies and clips that are modern and relvant to the class!!! attendance isnt mandatory but each class you attend is work 10 points so that adds up!!! Overall best psy teacher! I will take her for 200!
She is great, prolly the best teacher at clark college, no joke.. as long as you know vocab and do the rewiev she gives, there is no way one shouldnt get an easy A in her class.. Remember VOCAB!!
She is one of the best instructors that I've had. Very clear on assignments and expectations. A good amount of group work, which was nice and broke up the classtime. Good exam prep, and studyguide with all material you need to know. Easy A if you use your studyguide, and go to class.
April is kind soft spoken and sometimes overly sweet. She is willing to work with her students and formats her class in such a way that grading is easy. Most of the class is lecture and participation points. There are two tests and if you study for them you will pass the class. She is a very fair teacher.
Super easy and great teacher really liked her. She made the class fun. Based on participation and midterm and final. All answers are given on study days just study those and you do great.
She is such a wonderful professor and her class is surprisingly easy if you read the textbook and understand the concepts. I love how passionate she is about her work and teaching. It definitely shows on a daily basis. I would definitely take her again or recommend her to anybody that is taking a PSYC class!!!
April is an excellent teacher. She is well organized, lectures are interesting, and there is always group activities and class discussions to help understand the material covered. She provides study guides and spends a class period doing midterm and final prep. Show up, engage, and do the work. You will learn a lot from this excellent teacher.
April was by far the best teacher I've had at Clark. She is so kind and willing to help, which is so refreshing to see. She has a positive, calm presence about her which really made the class feel peaceful. You can tell she loves what she does, and she's good at it. If you have/want to take psych, you should definitely take it with her.
I got an A on the midterm, final paper, final exam and missed a couple days and got a B- in the course. Very interesting course. But you have to have perfect attendence to do well.
Her course is set up for success, students just need to do the work to achieve a good grade. Class activities are engaging and fun. She has a positive learning environment and allows students the freedom to make mistakes and still learn. Course has two tests, 17 quizzes, and a movie review. she offers a various opportunities for extra credit.
she is helpful teacher. I learned alot in this class. She is very nice and answering very clearly to students questions.
If you show up to class you will have fun, learn a lot, and get a high grade. She is thoughtful and clear. She has fun midterm and final review classes that are potluck. I would highly recommend her to anyone for Psy100 and Psy200.
April's the best! I just thought that Psychology would be just another pre requisite but she made it fun. The best part is, I actually remember the material she taught me! If you're like me and taking over 15 credits her class is really sort of a break if you ask me. You MUST take her!
I took her for Psyc200 and had a wonderful time. She is a great teacher. I would highly recommend her. She includes lecture time, movies, activities and youtube clips when she teaches to keep it interesting.
This is was the best class I have taken so far. April has a great way of explaining the terms and theories so that they are relatable and remembered. I cannot wait to take the next level with her.
Wonderful teacher! She made class very interesting by showing many youtube videos and making the information actually interesting to her students! If you study fot the tests, then you will get an A! She gives you all the resources you need in order to suceed. Pretty easy class.
I took this class during the summer. April is an awesome teacher, she made this class fun. Practicing for the test is a class effort and she makes it into a potluck-easy way to memorize! She teaches in all different varieties to cater to students learning abilities.
April was such a nice lady and her midterm and final were super easy if you took psyc 100 before her class. Attendance is mandatory just to get participation points but the lectures and activities were sometimes pointless. Great class and fun activities! Take her for psyc 200!!
Best teacher ever, you will never regret taking this class from her. Fairly easy A and you learn so much.
THE GOOD: Taught well; approachable; offered some extra credit; helped us establish study guides for midterm and finals. THE BAD: Was often late to class; gave us only two days to memorize ten pages of typed info for final; she thought we should otherwise memorize the book, which is impossible.
April was one of my favorite teachers at Clark! She made class interesting and was very helpful. She was very straight forward and did a good job of preparing the class for exams. I would recommend this class!!!
This class is an easy A. I had over an 100 percent coming into the final. Go to class everyday and follow her studying tips and you will do fine. The extra credit she gives are easy, so do them. I totally recommend her.
Best teacher hands down I've ever had. She makes it so easy that I had time to take in material and learn without the pressure. I earned an EASYYY 4.0 from doing this through running start and it helped me when applying as a psych major at UW where my competitors had taken UW psych 100 which obviously would be difficult. I owe her my life :)
Super interesting class- she makes it fun for being a 2 hr class! Got a 103% in the class, piece of cake. She prepares you very well for the midterm and final. Awesome person, teacher, and class! Definitely recommend it!
The tests were so easy if you study, so make time for that. She grades you on attendance through quizzes, so I wouldn't recommend taking this class if you flake out on a few classes here and there. Not my favorite, but not my least favorite.
At first, the class seems like a lot to handle. It all seems like too much and I was terrified that I would not be up to manage this class, but then she stressed the fact that her expectations are high, but not more than she knows you can do. It's true, we had plenty of time for each assignment, keep up with the reading and you'll be fine.
April Waggoner was an amazing teacher. She offered tons of extra credit, and as long as you put the effort into the work you're a guaranteed A. I wouldn't recommend any other teacher BUT her because she is amazing.
April is awesome! participation matters, but if you do your work and show up to class, its an easy A! gotta know your stuff and study well for exams, but she preps you well. Definitely not a tough grader, very fun class!
April is one of the best professors I have ever had. She makes learning about psychology fun. She engages the class and caters to all of her students different learning styles. Her amazing lectures are something to look forward to. She also gives extra credit. I have learned a lot from her class and hope to have more professors like April.
She's a fantastic teacher that offers up to 30 points extra credit. You just have to come to class and you will pass with an A!
She gives a lot of extra credit and explains things very clearly. She makes psychology very interesting and the homework and class assignments are easy. Loved the class and would definitely take it again.
If you're taking a Psychology class, it would be a major mistake to not take it with this teacher. April was the best teacher I've ever had, ALWAYS made class interesting, and you will learn SO much about yourself in this class! By the way, probably the easiest class I've ever taken lol. FInished with a 101% and barely did anything out of class.
April is an amazing teacher. She gives a crazy amount of extra credit which is really nice. She can be a tough grader, but if you make sure to do what she says, it will be an easy A. Tests can be a little tough, but if you study you'll do fine.
I wouldn't suggest a different psych professor. She offers lots of extra credit, but also provides interesting lectures and homework that taught me a lot. Going into the class I was considering majoring in psychology and finishing it I was confident that it's something I want to pursue. I learned so much and definitely recommend taking her class!
April is Amazing! I enjoyed her class and am planning to take Psychology 100 with her also. She is ready to help and her lectures are very interesting.
April is an amazing teacher. She offers a lot of extra credit and does expect class participation. The exam are about memorization with some diagrams to also memorize so just study. She does give a great study guide per two exams. I really enjoyed taking her class and would love it if she could teach all classes at Clark.
She made the class way too hard. On quite a few occasions she was very distracted and i feel she neglected the class for person or other work things. She makes sure you are there with inclass quizzes, you get a 10/10 just for doing it, but she wants you to do it and add to it throughout the whole class. She also doesn't round up in any form.
She has lots of resources on Canvas, and her lectures follow powerpoint slides that are posted online, however I found it easier to take my own notes and organize them into the theory guide after lecture. Show up to class, pay attention and do the homework and you'll get an A. Not a tough grader. Skim chapters before lecture, you will be quizzed.
It might have been the summer quarter but the format of this class is hard to follow. Instead of learning about a theorist you learn little pieces and the class seems to be all over the place. I definitely didn't retain anything from this class. PSYC200 was much easier.
She is super nice and cares about how you're doing in class, there are pop quizzes both on the most recent lecture AS WELL AS previous information. Get started on the binder assignment as early as possible or it will come back to bite you, movie analysis as well. Lots of group work, but a fun class, really made it easy with her powerpoints.
April was fantastic. She provided feedback on every paper I wrote and it was always constructive with an aim to improve future papers. Her tests and grading aren't designed to make you fail and you get the grade that represents the effort you put in.
April was a wonderful teacher. Very respectful, calm and nice. There was a lot of extra credit opportunity which would bump up my grade. She has pop quizzes but they only count for participation. You can't skip and expect to pass. If you pay attention, class will be easy. Used the textbook a lot. 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 paper. great class!
10/10 would recommend. I learned so much in this class without having to kill myself trying to study before exams. She gives you so many tools to succeed and as long as you follow the assignment guidelines it will be an easy A!
I absolutely loved her! I looked forward going to class. There was such a great atmosphere that she created. She was always very well prepared and she made it so much fun. Looking forward to taking another class with her.
Amazing! Explains every concept perfectly. She is a PhD in her field so she really knows what she's doing. Every class period we do a 10 point activity so if you skip you would not receive those points. Really knows how to engage the class; will break down concepts into the simplest form if needed. I love her! Gives extra credit. Great lectures!
April is awesome! Her lectures are really helpful and easy to follow along. Attendance really matters, considering you get 10 points each class time. Listening and paying attention is also important, because most of the material she explains is on the tests. I had her as a professor for psych 100 & 200, and I would take this class again if I could
April's class was challenging but amazing. I looked forward to going to class (which has never happened before). Extra credit opportunities make it hard to not pass the class. **She gives hints on what to study if you listen.
I highly recommend taking any class with April. She really wants you to succeed, and is there to help you. She gives so much extra credit opportunity, that there is no reason not to have an A in this class. I loved her lectures! They were interesting, interactive, and easy to follow. April is such a gem, I would gladly take this class again.
Excellent teacher! Very bright, respectful and passionate about what she is teaching. I look forward to taking another one of her classes!
I had Professor Waggoner for Lifespan Psychology and she is such an amazing professor. She is very joyful everytime we have class. She does not waste your time, but actually makes you feel that you are spending your time doing something useful everytime you go to class. You have to attend class to get a good grade, but other than that, just keep up
She grades on organization, but there's a great reason for it. She's a marriage counselor outside of being a college professor, so she has lots of wisdom and professionalism. I highly recommend her as a psych teacher.
Overall, this is a great class to take with an awesome professor! She gives tons of extra credit, an easy grader, and gives some fun assignments for her students. I will say the tests were pretty hard but if you study, you'll pass. Attendance also matters, she grades on participation.
April is definitely an expertise within her teaching and communication skills. Majority of the time, the lectures are supported with strong and organized information that eventually end up on the exams (basically like a study guide). She does offer extra credit throughout the term. She is specific and thorough with the grading criteria.
Fantastic teacher!! She is very bright, helpful and caring. You can tell that she has a passion for what she teaches and teaching itself. Her class was very well structured and easy to follow. If you are taking psychology, make sure she's your teacher. You wont regret it
She's amazing! Highly recommend!
She's great! I would definitely take her class again! There is a lot of work and time consuming but great information and she's great at explaining it. Any questions you have, she'll answer. She's very respectful and kind.
Great instructor, work load was a little heavy (due to my procrastination) As long as you stay on top of your work this class in an easy A!
Great Professor! You can tell that she really cares about her students. There is a ton of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of them! Easy A class if you don't procrastinate too much.
AMAZING professor!! There is a lot of information, but the content is NOT difficult to understand. Come to class having skimmed the chapter, and the lecture will be a breeze. She provides a study guide with topics to cover in each chapter, test preparation in class, and LOTS of extra credit. Very caring and knowledgeable professor 10/10 recommend!
April is a great teacher, loved how she taught. She was very nice and always answered any questions you had to the best of her ability. Definitely will take her for PSYC200.
great teacher would definitely take again.
April was great! I was planning on this class to be in person until COVID-19. She did a great job switching over to online. Lots of points in this class but don't slack too hard because she does read everyones work. She gives great feedback and is very personal. Does take off points for late work but the work is pretty simple plus some extra credit
Due to COVID I had to take her class online but I do not think it was not well adapted to online learning. The assignments were confusing, the activities were time-consuming but most of the time pointless. The class was overall frustrating. She seems to be a great professor in person, but for the time being I would not recommend taking this class.
Waggoner was a super helpful and kind professor, I had her for psychology and I actually really enjoyed her class. There were discussions, readings, and writing assignments each week. It's not difficult if you keep up with the work. She also had quite a few extra credit assignments that were really simple.
Lots of textbook reading. Discussion, assignment, and writing journal each week. No exams except the final and midterm but she prepares you well and they aren't very hard. It is work but really any psyc class will be she works to help her students understand and retain information. Would recommend it but it is work.
April is great, Fair amount of assignments, give's clear instructions, clear grading criteria, and gives you more than enough time to complete it all, usually. Also, some extra credit opportunities. She responds fast and will be more than happy to help you out. If you are willing to put in the time, it's a manageable A.
April was one of the sweetest professors I've had at Clark! I was nervous to take this class online, but she was incredibly kind and gave thorough and encouraging feedback on every assignment! She is very gracious with late work, is an easy grader, and allows redos on many assignments. One discussion, small essay, and easy quiz weekly :)
Professor Waggoners class was definitely a bunch of work but very worth it. Every week our content related to our lives which made it much easier to remember and care about. Each week we typically had a discussion, quiz, activity, and journal (writing) entry.
Amazing teacher the absolute best, I learned so much from her she will make you work for the grade but does not make it impossible. I took her for PSYC100 and never regretted it, take her you will not be disappointed.
She is lovely and a great educator. She also asks that you apply the learning to your life which has given me a lot of "eureka" moments. However, there is a lot of work to be done in this class. If you complete the work, it is an easy A. But around week 8 I was honestly, a bit burnt out.
Amazing teacher! I learned so much and she is so kind and helpful. She was an easy grader. Most of the exams were based on stuff from discussions and assignments. I am so glad I got her as a teacher.
Quite an unrealistic amount of coursework for anyone who has a life outside of college. There are 1-2 things due daily that are time consuming to do. The instructions on assignments are confusing and its hard to understand what she is truly expecting you to accomplish. These will be credits you bust for. Not recommended.
This class was fun to take but there was so much reading. The hardest part of the class for me was the midterm and the final exam because there was so much to memorize. Professor Wagner is very kind and definitely willing to help though.
Awesome class and prof! Each week, you have 3 chapters to skim, a quiz, short activity, discussion, and learning journal entry. There's also an essay due later on. None of these take up much time if you don't procrastinate. There's a study guide, so you'll know what to pay attention to. April is very nice and helpful! Totally recommend her!!
Professor Waggoner was truly one of the best professors I have taken at Clark. Each week you have a discussion, short assignment activity, quiz and lab journal due. There is also extra credit available and you also need to write a paper that is due at end of the quarter. PS this class has a midterm and final exam. Dont procrastinate youll be ok.
There may seem like there is a lot of work in this course but it is all very simple and easy and is not harshly graded. Amy is very caring and always accessible through email. I enjoyed taking this course and really learning, Amy truly cares about your learning and is always there for support. I highly recommend!
great teacher and class but a heavy workload.
Professor Waggoner was a good professor who gave good feedback. She really wants you to learn and comprehend what you are reading.
Do not take this professor. Has too many assignments to complete each week. 4 assignment each week, Discussion post, Writing Activity 475+ words, Quiz, and Application Paper with visuals that ends up being 500 to 1000+ words. Asks students on concepts that are not in the textbook. Asks you to apply concepts that do not correlate with each other.
will never take her course again. every single day you have to be in her course as it is heavy on the work load. she will not work with you to fix a grade & will not help you. i went through some life situations and she was not understanding of it "well next time youll be better prepared" is what i was told, hey thanks for the helpful tip teacher.
Heavy workload. Assignments due Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. Modules are locked so you can not work ahead on anything. Is a tough grader. Will grade you down for the slightest APA formatting, grades like this is a university an not a community college.
Awful professor. Unclear incorrect grammar written instructions for assignments, makes understanding the assignments difficult. Surprised this professor has a PHD and cannot write grammar. Requires a written paper in addition to a mid term and final test.
Each week discussion posts you have initial post of 100words, reply post of 100words to 3 people, and follow-up post of 100 words to anyone that reply to you. The week of Midterm and Finals discussion post is required to Reply to 10 people, follow-up to all people which can up to 8 people. Which equals writing 1900 words for a discussion post.
Lots and lots of work. Chapter reading, lots of videos, two discussion posts, a quiz, an activity and a short "essay" each week. Her instructions are not clear and she never grades anything. I hardly had time to do any of my other classes and while working and doing some high school classes still I defiantly wouldn't take this class again with her.
Dr. Waggoner gives great feedback. She is highly intelligent. I believe that can be challenging for some students who are taking Psychology for the first time because of her advanced terminology. At first, it can be challenging to understand what she is asking of you but just ask. She gives assignment examples-helpful! There can be a lot of work.
This teacher made me feel connected to the topics, created highly engaging discussions, and had a fun (but somewhat large) media analysis. I'd recommend! Pros: Pretty good late work policy, does remove points but at a slow pace. Kind. Fair about late work. Cons: Writing heavy. 200-word initial post with 100-word replies (but topics are engaging!)
My issue is the journal entries that are at least 500 words and 1 page. It is usually around 3 pages for me, double-spaced. These assignments take hours and hours and you have one almost every week. I would not recommend her unless you have an interest in writing a ton. She does not have any flexibility for late work.
Lots of textbook reading but I enjoyed the class! She gives clear feedback and the grading criteria is clear. A decent amount of work but not too difficult.
amazing professor!! lets you redo some stuff and you can do presentations instead of essays. responsive on email and gives wonderful detailed feedback. extra credit is avaliable and it's easy to get an A if you try.
April's class has a lot of work, but she provides clear instructions and grading criteria. The material can be challenging, but using tools like unstuck ai helps with study prep. Overall, it's a manageable A if you're willing to put in the time.
Her instructions were worded weird/hard to understand/changed at the last second. Weekly quiz, activity, discussion, and "life application learning journal" (essay or presentation worth 30 pts). Our discussion for midterms required we reply to 10 people and reply to ALL the people who replied to us. Assignments were annoying, busy work.
Gives an unnecessary amount of work for the level that it is. Multiple assignments due on the same day. Would not recommend.
Prof. Waggoner was a decent professor if you don't care about the content. She was very inaccessible outside of class since it was online and was VERY passive aggressive when responding to basic questions about the course. If you're taking the class for the credit, totally doable and easy, but if you want to dive deeper, don't do it with her.
