Very strange guy, and a bit condescending. It's a good class though, and you'll know with in the first week if he's going to annoy you are not. Chances are you'll find him funny. A bit hard to understand because of his accent, but overall he's very clear.

He is SO funny! I didn't go to class much because economics is basically common sense, if you know it, you know it. I didn't take notes and liked to sit in the first row, and I got the highest grades in the whole class on both mid-terms, so every time I did go to class, he made fun of me. Very nice guy. Love him. Excellent instructor! Not sure why some comments say otherwise. He covers everything in the book and relates it all to current events. Read 3 books he recommended and loved them all. I changed my major because of him. I'm so glad I took these classes with him.

I took both Micro and Macro from him. He is hillarious and whacky. He is pretty clear and helpful, but his tests are a little difficult. If you are decideing which class to take, do the MACRO lecture, because it is much much easier.

great teacher. I took his class online. His grading scale is lower then average. i got a B at 77 %. This was my first online class and it was worth it to take this class. I recommend him taking even if its for GE purpose. Just do the online assignment and take the exams (3 total, 2 mids and final). Nothing fancy is needed to take his class.

Really funny teacher. Knows the subject well and is always willing to explain. Easy online class. All you do is read the chapter, take an online quiz for each. Theres 2 online midterms, 1 final. Only the first midterm is taken on campus. The second midterm and the final is taken at home. VERY EASY.

I've had him for both Macro and Micro economics. He is a tough teacher, you really need to attend his classes, especially if it is the once a week class. However, he is a great teacher and obviously knows his stuff. He likes to make you laugh and the class itself is quite enjoyable if you participate and study.

Ara is a great professor. I took his macreoconomics class Fall 2012 online. He is really helpful. There is no homework in the macroeconomics class, however there is three midterms that you need to pass. There is no extra credit. If you study you will pass this class. Professor Ara is great he explains everything clearly to students. This is not an easy class though has a lot of graphs.If you want to experience a college level class take this class.This class has 16 quizzes and 2 midterms and 1 final exam. The quizzes are not timed but the 2 midterms and final exam is you only have 90 minutes for 40 questions.

Took Dr. Khanjian's microeconomics course online. Course consists of three exams, worth 30% each, and a chapter quiz for each textbook chapter covered, worth 10% cumulatively. The quiz questions are good representations of exam questions, and Dr. Khanjian is readily available to assist, whether over email or in person. Recommend for economics.

i have read a couple reviews on here and from my experience the negative ones though correct in some sense do not do the class justice its an online class what did you expect to be coddled the whole semester like regular courses, NO its all self taught but it allows for at your time convenience over all i LOVED the class will be taking MICRO next

He is quick to answer any question you have because he REALLY knows what he is talking about. There are only 2 tests and a final throughout the semester and NO homework and NO projects. All the tests are based on his lectures and he has a great sense of humor so his lectures are not worth missing! If you have an econ background then it's an easy A!

I took this class Fall 2014. There are 2 midterm exams and a final, which isn't cumulative. He takes attendance about every other class, so make sure you show up for participation points. Read the book and understand the key terms. Just because he doesn't cover it in class doesn't mean it isn't on the exam. He curves every exam a full letter grade.

I took Ara khanjians online course for Econ VO1A and VO1B and just to let you know the class is self taught and its a bit difficult because after its economics, you have chapter quizzes that you get to take twice and all together are worth 10% of your grade then 2 midterms worth 20% and 30% and a final worth 40%, overall chill teacher.

I've taken Dr. Khanjian's Econ 1A and 1B classes, both online. Great! He made the course very clear from day one. He would answer to all my emails right away. His chapter lecture notes helped A LOT!!! Quiz questions are a good example of exam ones. The students final grade is based on a generous curve. Definitely recommend taking both courses.

I really enjoyed this course. He explained concepts very thoroughly and made sure everyone understood whatever he discussed in his lectures. Homework is pretty much non-existent for in lecture class. For the tests all you have to do is just take decent lecture notes and maybe read the book for stuff you're not too sure on. He's a great professor I strongly recommend taking Econ with him.

Took this professor for econ 1A and found that class challenging only cause it was online. Once i got to take econ 1B in class with this professor was surprised to find out the class was much easier. Professor Khanjian only lectures on whats on his tests, so all you have to do is show up and take notes to pass. He's also a pretty funny guy.

Took Online class for Macroeconomics, 3 tests consisting of 2 midterms and one final, 16 quizzes. Yes thats correct, I said 16 quizzes. I'm taking Ara Khanjian's online Microecon class & took his Macroecon lecture. He's extremely fair when it comes to quizzes and exams. For online, the textbook is easy to understand & as long as you read the corresponding chapters you will succeed in the class. His lectures also made econ fun & interesting as he was always engaging with the class.

Prof. Ara Khanjian's interesting lectures cover exam material. No tricks-take good notes, read lecture topics in book and you will do well. I enjoyed his Macro and Microeconomics classes. He is knowledgeable and wants his students to succeed. I wish he taught more classes! Take advantage of Supplemental Instruction provided 2 hours per week.

Online class so you must keep up with deadlines. The syllabus is very clear so you can definitely work ahead if you want to. Clear grading. 2 midterm and 1 final. Funniest professor I've taken. Even if you don't like economics he'll make it entertaining. The class itself was hard. Tests are an interesting mixture of lecture and textbook so it's hard to study for. If you put in the work you'll pass no problem but getting an A is another story.

Overall a brilliant guy, especially in the subject of econ. Take advantage of his knowledge if you're studying business/economics/real estate. I took his MacroEcon online class and it was really great. I took Micro in-class with him, very test-heavy; as tests will count for 90% of your grade. If you don't excel in tests, take his online class.

Class wasnt hard to pass in all honesty. I gave minimal effort to get a High B. He does a quiz after every chapter, lets you take it twice with the first one without a time limit & you get the answers afterwards which you can use it again to take it again & get the average out of both. 3 test which are 85% of your total grade. No extra credit!!

Online accelerated class. 15 chapters. Each chapter due every 2-4 days. Can work ahead of time. Each chapter has questions that are easy As. HW 10%, Discussions 10%, 1st Midterm 20%, 2nd Midterm 30%, Final 35%. You must teach yourself. He will respond to emails but you will have to read and learn through free textbook. Curves tests.

The topics were interesting & class discussions were lively. Prof is tech savvy, which made learning intuitive & so much more helpful than traditional online classes!! Fun class, fast grader, 10/10!

He is really nice and very responsive to student questions. However, the course requires a lot of reading and doesn't incorporate live lectures or many videos. The few he does have are helpful, but it's a very black and white course. I enjoy his class discussions, I just wish he was more creative with assignments, it would help with learning.

I took Professor Khanjian's class over the course of two semesters for both parts, one in the summer and one in the following fall. Class was fairly straightforward. You have quizzes each week or so based off reading material. Professor Khanjian's class is definitely one I'd recommend if students need econ for their gen ed or to transfer.

I took Prof Khanjian last summer in V01B. I am taking him again this summer in V01A and transferring them to my university. I am not good at Econ at all, but the most important thing is to use your resources and you will do fine. Also do the discussion boards. You can work ahead which really helps. Just don't fall behind and you will do fine!!

Good professor. His whole in person class was based on three tests and attendance/participation grade. Sometimes the lecture can be dry if you don't engage and answer/ask questions. I mainly talked to him after class and he really helped me. he will help you. Don't be afraid to approach him. He wants students to understand economics well.

Professor Ara Khanjian, provides an online class that is a classical approach to the teaching style of self applicable by the student. The Professor does not hand out information instead, the Professor instructs the pupil to search for it in the book since economic information is usually a gathering of vast data. The quizzes are all based off the textbook so use it (openstax microecon) Apparently you're not supposed to post a discussion post on the same day as your reply to another student... almost got a B in the class for that Quiz heavy. Literally all quizzes and two discussions. The 4 week class is difficult.

Lectures can be a little long. However he helps you understand the question. Outside of the classroom he is available and helps you figure out the material. I majored in Economics and he helped me get into the school I wanted. He gives really solid advice for courses to take and books to read that go well with economics.

Professor Ara is a great professor, I took Econ before with another professor who didn't care about their students, but Ara was very caring and easy to understand his class. He has a clear criteria and you just have to put in a little effort and you will get an A. I would highly recommend anyone to take his class, you will not regret it.

This was a really fun class. The workload is very reasonable and manageable. The weekly assignments consist of reading one chapter and taking a multiple choice quiz. There are also four class discussions on interesting topics such as inequality and discrimination. Professor Khanjian is kind, helpful, and provides thorough responses to questions.

The class itself is online, so theres not much interaction with the professor unless you need help. Grades are pretty much based on tests and quizzes. The only grading in the class is based off the 3 exams. Grading is extremely generous. Zero homework. Provides a clear online study guide before exams and gives online practice tests that reflect the exact same questions on the exams. Do the notes and the practice tests and you'll pass easily. I took this class this Fall and absolutely loved it! Professor Khanjian's online course was a short term course so it is difficult. Prepare to read and learn through his online textbook which is free. The tests makeup most of your grade and are based off the reading. Make sure to read and keep up with the class and you will do just fine and receive an A.

I took his microecon course online. He assigns weekly quizzes (they aren't very hard) and a discussion every now and then. As long as you stay on top of it you'll be fine. He did me a kind gesture by raising my grade when I was 1% from the next letter grade. If you reach out to him he gives feedback fairly quickly and communicates well.

Dr. Khanjian was approachable, responsive and knows his subject. Quizzes = 15% of your grade, discussions contribute to 10%, and 3 exams [midterm I/ II, and final] =75%. Dr. Khanjian assigned me an A as my final grade when I was actually on the border and in B territory with 89.75%. Recommend! **utilized a FREE textbook which was very concise.

And he is very kind with his grading, I had a 93% all semester long but after taking the final my grade dropped to a 89.75%. I emailed him asking to round my grade up to an 90% and he did. Great class and great professor!

Tough Professor but also fair.

Very simple class, show up and listen is basically all you have to do. Only assignments are 3 exams. Take notes and study material and you will pass. No homework

I got a C but I want to say that this professor is really nice and patient, there is no homework for this class just read the free textbook carefully and you'll get a good grade, he's really nice and good person

Professor Khanjian's class is a breeze if you stay on top of the readings. The exams are very fair, and he's super helpful in rounding up grades. Definitely use Unstuck AI along with the free textbook for easy A.

I took the 8-week online course, textbook included for free as a PDF. This course requires Knewton Alta, which is $10/month to use. The 3 exams are 90% of your grade, 3 discussions are 5%, and coursework is 5%. It was one of the harder WEB courses because it was test-heavy, also a self-taught course, so study diligently for exams if you want an A.

I definitely recommend this class overall but it is fairly tough to receive an A , very very test heavy (2 midterms 1 final pretty much makes your entire grade.) The professor is great , you can tell he cares about you as a student by always posting helpful reminders and being there for us if we have any questions. Plz js be prepared for the tests.

Taking this class as duel enrollment specifically the 4 week online one, mind you I've taken AP and IB classes before but this class was hard for me because of the exams. your grade is mostly based on test but he is understanding n caring n wants his students to succeed. if you lock in it is very possible to get an a!!

I took him for ECON V01A before so I knew what I was getting myself into. The vast majority of your grade is made up of 3 exams, so if you get maybe below an 84% on any of them, an A is out of the picture. Thankfully, he rounded up my grade from an 88 to a 90. You need to take the exams very seriously and basically get an A on all of them.

Super chill class. Very test heavy but nothing on the test is complex and he covers all topics in his lectures. Just pay attention to lecture and study the given set of units.
