He was very clear and extremely helpful. There were no surprises on his tests, and his homeworks and quizzes weren't worth much so you could skip one or two or more if you wanted to. He's a very good speaker and he's entertaining.
Took him for Managerial Accounting; overall superb. PROS: Well articulated, organized class, highly entertaining, workbook keeps notes together and is am excellent study tool, loans the entire class textbooks. CONS: (nit-picks only) Does not provide homework answers right away, occasionally has students attempt problems prior to explaining them.
I took professor Morgan for financial acct: Very thorough when it involved calculations, however very lacking when explaining terms, definitions or reasoning. He did loan textbooks to students, but his workbook cost about 80 dollars! Wording on certain tests are tricky at times, be sure to read the questions carefully.
Pretty funny, guy. Can seem like he rambles at times but he stays mostly relevant. His workbooks are extremely helpful if you do the problems correctly and take notes. It definitely helps to skim through the book and do the assigned homework problems before the test! He's not the easiest, but is not too bad either!
He is a good teacher!! He is so funny too! His lecture was very clear. Tests were a little hard but fair enough.
Great Professor. He expects students to act as adult and prioritize. He does not mind if you leave early but he does nit-pick about coming in late. Occasional tricky questions here and there. If you read carefully you'll have no problem. Enjoyed him so much took him for both Financial & Managerial ACCT. Book is reccommended. Workbook is Mandatory.
A joy to learn from and a genuinely good person. Really cares about students and their success. Extremely likeable and entertaining while still teaching the material effectively. Professional and accomplished, he earns respect through his actions, doesn't demand it because of his authority. Teaches in a clear, understandable terms. Two thumbs up.
he makes u buy his book at the first class even before the class got started he told us to go to bookstore and buy his book which is 80 dolars. mandotory. He always talks about his wife and grandmother he thinks he is the best acc. prof but not. he has his own accounting. tests are tricky.
Don't be fooled by the ratings. Arabian Morgan is a good teacher, but his class is NOT easy. He will help you if you ask questions in class. But it is VERY difficult to get an A in there. He tests on 2 chapters per exam. You must read the chapters thoroughly and buy his workbook to do class exercises. The only thing in your grade are exams.
I got over 100% in class despite no acct class or experience. The book is easy and he lectures well. 6 tests and final is NOT cumulative. You spend half the class time working on problems, which helps. Not much assigned HW. Sometimes lets you bring a cheat sheet. The math is simple. Very nice person. Oh, does NOT like the LEAST bit like Carlton.
Now here is a professor that not only knows his stuff, but knows how to get his students involved and tuned in. no home work. test every 2 chapters. very nice guy and excellent instructor with a corky sense of humour. The material is not easy, but he makes it easy as long as you pay attention in class and follow his anecdotes. TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM
Learned a lot from him. Great guy, very caring for his students. Most importantly all of his lectures are helpful in every way. He teaches you not only all the basic stuff you need to know about Accounting but also life skills that not everyone can obtain if you know what I mean. Both thumbs up.
Beware!!! Although he has good ratings that does not mean his class is an easy class from what everybody says. Lots of work needs to be put in. He is a really funny guy, but all points come from test, so theres no easy points.
Great teacher! Funny, gives good life advice lol explains the workbook and stuff from the book very well. Loved going to class.
Good teacher. He wants students to think on their own & learn. If you want to get an A,you must show up to class every day, follow his instructions very closely and do all the HW. Also, he is always available via email & very helpful. First chapters were easy to pass. Ch.8 & 9 were hard. Final was based on last 2 chapters & was easy too.
he's really interesting and sends you interactive study guides for tests... he gives you the resources to understand the material after class if you're having a hard time getting it.
very nice, sincere, funny guy. i wasn't at all interested in the subject but he kept the class going well. class is oober easy, i strolled through it (again, no interest in the subject) but get A+ in the end w/ little effort. took it in the summer. about 4,5 tests total. workbook (written by himself!) is ridiculously expensive.
Took him for 101 and 102. hes a grwat guy who keeps your entertained. workbook is a must and textbook isnt necessary really. very smart guy and knows how to teach accounting. learned alot. got a B and worked fairly hard
None.
I took him for 101 and 102. HE IS GREAT!... funny, smart and helpful. you need the workbook. textbook is not necessarily for 102 but it helped me a lot in 101. watch the videos presentation that he assign(in 101), it's extremely helpful. over all he is The Best. I wish if he teach Acct110 so I can take him again :)
Took his class only because his book was half the price as the other Accounting instructors. My friends said that other instructors were easier.
Very good teacher. If you listen in class and do the homework assigned you will do fine.
best prof ever lets us borrow book for free no need to buy always tell us bout stories and other lifelessons
He's very helpful and funny. Always has stories to tell. The only way you'll fail is if you never show up and if you never do the reading (because everything you need to know is in the book) He made a WB in accordance with the book that he teaches with which he uses every day. He's kind of arrogant, but it's amusing in his own way...
He is a great professor, his lecture style is fun and engaging. He allows a one page note during exams. The exams are pretty straight forward und contain everything you have discussed in class and not more. He is very caring and wants you to succeed. His workbook is very helpful for the exams.
Such a great teacher! Loved this class! My favorite class at OCC yet! He is super funny, keeps things interesting. He makes accounting interesting! Changed my major due to this class!
overall great teacher. he's funny, always happy and makes class fun and interestinting. make sure you pay attention! tests are hard if you didnt study. he gives very little homework but doesnt check it. you should still do it, it helps.
Such a great teacher! He wants you to do well and everything but the 1st test is open book. I miss this class he makes it so easy and gives you 30pts. For perfect attendance
Take him as long as you try to get an A you will, 6 exams first 2 are easy the 3rd, 4th, and fifth are a bit hard and the final is easy. A challenging A and an easy B. His classes are not boring and everything is learned through his workbook. Very little hw. TAKE HIM
Loved this class! Took him for financial. Who knew accounting could be easy and (semi-)enjoyable! Ive only taken one ACC class, but i can't imagine a better accounting professor exists in the ever-expanding universe!
One of the best teachers at OCC. He has an excellent teaching style and, more importantly, knows how to make the information stick. I did not take him for ACCT102, and I regret it, because within 2 weeks I had already forgotten the 102 material, whereas I still clearly remember what he taught me in 101. I can't recommend him more highly.
Very good professor, super clear on all content throughout the class. Lectures were fun because he has a good personality. Very laid back, make sure you do the homework in the workbook.. Literally the questions on the test are same wording as hw problems just different numbers and names. MUST TAKE FOR ACCOUNTING
Professor Morgan is squared away, knows his material, and has predicted your every question. I wasn't happy about price of workbook, but got my money's worth. His lectures are interesting and his examples are often injected with humor. If I ever kidnap somebody for ransom, in addition to a private jet, I know to demand bearer bonds instead of cash.
Accounting by nature is not an interesting subject, nor easy to grasp and Professor Morgan manages to translate the information in a format that's both interesting and easier to understand. As long as you pay attention and go to lectures, he is very transparent about what will be on the test, which will help you succeed in this class.
I took Professor Morgan's Acct 101 during the summer session so 6 weeks was not a lot of time. Professor Morgan's lectures were definitely very clear, & he definitely made sure you understood what was being discussed. As long as you do your homework, read and ask questions, you will do great in his class. Taking his Acct 102 now.
Took him for 6 weeks in the summer (was a half-online class). He is a smart and hilarious guy. Textbook is not important at all. Everything comes from the Workbook, expensive ($100) but worth every dime, that he writes himself. Make sure you DO THE WORKBOOK PROBLEMS and the A will easily be yours. And now I'm taking him again for ACCT 102.
I took this class based on a recommendation from a friend, which I'm sure is why many of his students attend; its not to be missed. He's very funny, knowledgeable and breaks the material down to make this class an easy one. You will be stranded without the workbook, so be sure to bring it everyday.
Make sure to bring workbook to class everyday and fill in everything in it, as test comes straight out of workbook. He has maybe 10 general questions from the book on the test but most are problem solving from the workbook. Make sure to actually do the hw as this will tremendously help you. Tests are fair, first 2-3 tests have written section.
Great teacher. Accounting is an extremely boring class but he did a great job in making it easy to follow and interesting. He is a great teacher and I highly recommend taking his class.
Horribly grades tests and 3 question written portion of tests are unfairly weighted worth 90 so if you get it wrong, you barely can even get an A.. also most times no partial credit. I went to every class, did all the homework, did fairly decent on his really hard tests and came out with a C!! No curve at all. Don't take! blabbers on and on
Accounting, the most boring subject you could think of. And then there's Morgan, the most charismatic accounting professor alive. He could probably get a comatose man jumping up and down about tax legislation. So yeah, he's funny, interesting, and easy to boot. He let me skip the final test, even, because my grades were good enough.
Prof Morgan is a great instructor. Course is hard in the summer, more of a full time commitment. Entertaining lectures and good career advice. Points out what will be on exams. Yes,tricky LIFO FIFO written question on test, read carefully and be deliberate. Helps to do problem sets over 2-3 times. FYI assigned seating and takes roll.
I enjoyed his class only because he brings a lot of energy to the lectures. Jokes are hit or miss, but it is still better than being bored. LIFOFIFO, when you hear those terms be careful, they can be grade killers on exams. More than 4 absences will drop you a whole letter grade. He leaves himself available for office hours and is very helpful.
By far one of the best teachers I ever had. You work on the wkbk in class and homework is very easy. Didn't use textbook much, but it's only $5. If you pay attention in class, do the homework, and just study a few hours a week, it's an EASY A. Made class very entertaining. Tells you exactly what pages in wkbk will be on the test.
I took Professor Morgan in the fall semester and I think he is an excellent instructor. His expertise covers a wide range of things in the accounting world and his insights are helpful for the exams. There are no assignments; just tests and attendance. He is very straightforward with what he expects from you.
this class is only hard if you dont care about accounting. Studying is neccessary. he gives a little extra credit. he's a great professor. everything is clear and he posts audio of his lectures online. that helps a lot!!! im keeping his book and audio files for reference. u dont need the textbook but it will help you understand the material. STUDY
I liked his 101 class so much I decided to take 102 and I was not disappointed. He has great insight into all things accounting, but at times he can get carried away in class and go a bit off topic, causing a class that could be 1 hr 45 min to be the full 2.5 hours.
Took him over the summer. Long lectures but goes by quick. Definately an A that you have to work for but his work book (around $100) makes it really clear. I learned a lot. And you don't need WileyPlus. Wish I could take him for 102. Definately take him if you want to go into Accounting.
Prof. Morgan is an amazing professor; extremely knowledgeable, very clear with his lectures, expectations, and will actually prepare you for higher lever accounting classes like Managerial Accounting (Acct A102). I took his class over the 8 wk intersession and received an A . I'm now taking Acct 102 and am one of the top students in my class!
Amazing teacher!
Professor Morgan is a very engaging professor. In this class, you'll get an insider prospective of the world of financial accounting. His lectures are never dull since he brings interesting yet relevant events and his witty humor. He will also give extra credit for those who can prove him wrong on some things, good luck on that!
Professor Morgan is kicked ass!!! I took him during summer for accounting 101 and love it. He is so inspirational and gives a lot of examples of useful life lessons. I even dropped Professor Johnson to take this guy for accounting 102 and I am glad I did. 102 was tough, but I still learned a lot. I RECOMMEND HIM!!!
Professor Morgan is an outstanding professor! He is not the norm accounting professor, he has a sense of humor and inspirational. The workbook is extremely helpful, use it and study it. The audio was the best by far, I didn't need to ask so many questions, I just referred back to the audio. He gives great advice, thank you - Professor!!
Very straight forward boring class. Not difficult. Fill in the blank. Didn't use the text book, got a B. Oversimplifies everything. You could easily get a B and skip half the classes, but attendance is mandatory. Test are fair. I might take his accounting 102 class. Overall nice guy.
awesome class he teaches you everything. class are fun he makes a lot of jokes. he really wants you to pass and allows notes for test and open book for final. his test are hard and tricky. if you miss 1 question you missed the next 9 questions. review your material and study. easy class.
Mr. Morgan is the best! Man this guy really cares about his student! I wish other professors learn from his teaching and testing techniques. I would defiantly recommend him because he deserves it and because I want other students to have the same excellent experience that I got.
Took him for ACCT 101 and then ACCT 102. He is a good and kind professor. Clear on his lectures. Highly recommended.
Most I've learned in any class. Came in with no experience and can now get by with basic accounting skills. Must go to class and dont be late. Will give extra credit if proven wrong. Easy homework. 4 test. Three of them you get to use an entire page of notes. Funny jokes and gives amazing life lectures.
Has no respect for students. Never responds to emails, no matter how important it could be.... Aka don't trust his bonus points they don't exist. They only exist in his syllabus and imagination.
Going into accounting one would expect a boring numbers class but Professor Morgan made this class amazing. His experience which he weaves throughout his lectures make accounting fun. His wonderful attitude made his lectures easy to listen and pay attention. I feel lucky that I got him as a professor. Favorite teachers by far. Highly recommend.
Mr. Morgan is by far one of the best teacher I've had. He is very kind, funny, charismatic and cares a lot about his students. I cannot praise enough how wonderful he is. If you are looking for a good professor for ACCT 101, look no further!
I took both his ACCT 101 and 102. 101 is much easier as long as you com to class. He made accounting class more interesting and gave useful advice. Really well-organized.
I took the 8 wk course for this class. He is a great teacher and goes over every thing, but I missed one class and I was totally lost for the rest of the semester. If you go to each class and actively participate you should be fine. He lets you use notes on your exam which great! You have to get the book, and make sure you do all the HW! He checks!
100% Online. If you miss 1 Homework or 1 Discussion Question He will not let you take the EXAM. Must Purchase CONNECT CODE its about $100. Easy A. Took his for ACCT 1, I Recommend signing up for CHEGGSTUDY all the answers from the Test are there $15 a month. Overall GREAT TEACHER !!!
Managerial Accounting class is a lot harder than his Financial Accounting class. He moves very fast on the material and there is no way of double check to see if you did your HW correctly it all falls on you to ask classmates. No extra credit opportunities what so ever. His teaching is decent but the exams are extremely hard.
he was an Ok professor
Took him for both Financial and Managerial Accounting. I recommend doing both these courses in one semester to get your requirements done quickly. He is very clear on what the tests are on. Do the homework, pay attention during lecture, and you are guaranteed an A.
He is #1, take him!
Part of this class not being easy was my not understanding the class, so I wont completely say hes a horrible teacher. However when I tried to go to his appointment hours for help he gave me literally 10 minutes of his time. I didnt feel like he cared whether I passed or failed which is disappointing. The class grade is based on tests only.
MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND if you miss more than three class periods he gives you 0/100 points for participation. I went from an A down to a C
He is a good teacher i dont like that his text book is more than 100 dollars. its a verry easy class. He explains everything like hes teaching a child. sometimes he gets out of line i dont think this teacher has a filter he sasy some things and im think WOW did he just say that! haha its funny soemtimes lol
His grading is not clear. One question worth 1 point the worth 65 points! Worse teacher I ever had! Homework also based on his inaccurate grading! Hes going off topic like how rich he is or what would he do if had a billion dollars! Dont be shy to stop him! Make sure you ask enough questions before each exam. Expect his mockery response!
he is such a funny and knowledgeable professor. Show up to all the lectures and do all the assigned work and you will pass. Participate in class to give him a reason to curve your grade. The textbook was hard to understand so its nice that he has a workbook to make it very easy even though the school charges an arm and a leg. Amazing mentor!
He is ok, easy to pass if you come and follow his clear instructions. Likes when people participate. Little HW. No extra credit. I would suggest taking ACCT101&102 with ONE professor. One class after another. I took, for example 101, couple semesters ago and forgot a lot. I would feel overwhelmed and bored to take both classes at the same semester.
Mr. Morgan is easily my favorite professor at OCC. I think what really won me over was how organized the class was. There was nothing unexpected or spontaneous, it was all laid out & planned beforehand. It gets tiring having teachers that don't stick to a plan/the original syllabus and it was so refreshing to have a class as organized as this one.
It was exam 2 and I sat down came 5 mins late. he insulted I checked my cellphone make sure it is silent mode. and teacher Morgan came and he said turn off your cellphone and take watch off. my watch is fashion watch. nothing have tech inside. I was so so so so upset that he thought i will cheat? There is a cheat sheet that he said okay to take.
Professor Morgan is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I had him for ACCT 101 - the night class T, Th - and i currently have him for ACCT 102. strength is He will break down complex concepts in their simplest forms and help you build a solid foundation from the ground up so that you can truly understand the concept. Do the hwk / show up!!
Weekly assignments in connect. Don't really need the textbook just the code. Straightforward course organization and grading criteria. Tests are in-person on campus at OCC.
So far, my favorite professor at OCC. Very detailed explanations and clear instructions. Lectures informative and funny. Just registered for more of his classes. He uses his own book, but it is responsible priced(just check other accauting books, they are expensive ) If u want to know accauting, take his class!
Prof Morgan is great, he makes the class interesting. There are 4 exams, his test were a bit tough, I got a C on the most difficult exam. Little hwk, no extra credit. I def recommend him. I will be taking ACCT 102 with him. It would have been nice to know what to study more earlier, rather then the lecture right before the exam, bur I got a B :)
Uses his own text book/work book. His examples in class differ from homework assigned. Homework problems become test questions. Doesn't answer questions after class. If struggling with the homework you have to wait until the next class to ask for an explanation, so you lose a week of studying. Steer clear, there are better instructors at OCC.
Tests are focused on memorizing numbers. He doesnt teach the why, thats on you to figure out. Im having a hard time expressing how bad this course is in 220 characters. Went over 10 budgets 1 week before the exam, then acted like he was doing us a favor letting us bring in 1 pg of notes for the test. Budgets alone cover 10 full pgs.
I would not take this class again he takes forever to go over one single page in the workbook. He goes off tangent about his life and stories about himself. time is wasted when we could finish up our lecture. His workbook is also really expensive.
I was in the professor's class last night. I disagree with the 5/14/2019 post. He spent time last night reviewing for our final exam. He adds "life skills" talks to his lecture, and adds humor to an otherwise not so exciting subject. For a night class, he keeps me awake.
Professor Morgan is an outstanding instructor. The negative ratings on this page are from young, immature students, who haven't had a chance to experience the real world. I am a student in his current evening Acct 102 class. His lectures are to the point and he makes dry concepts interesting and easy to understand.
There are 4 exams. The final is online. He's a good teacher. Grading can be somewhat unfair. He let the students that bombed on the written portion to retake it again. What about the students that did well on the written portion and bombed on the multiple choice exam? He should give extra points to the students that didn't have to retake the test.
Great professor, his class is well structured and he is a very nice person. The tests are fair because he goes over what is going to be on it. If you do all the homework from the workbook, you should be able to get an easy A. Accounting is really boring though.
Very strict and not worth it teacher. Tests are the biggest factor, which makes it manageable. The work you put in will give you your grade. Not a fan of being forced to buy his personally written 500 pg workbook for $116, total waste and wish I could return it. Lectures are completely useless, makes you read his book all class, avoid at all costs.
Took Prof. Morgan for a 4-week Accounting 101 class. It was DEFINITELY the hardest I have worked in my 2 years of college. Yes, you have to buy his $100, 600-page workbook but oh man, it was so helpful & I felt like an accounting expert after. Yes, there were a lot of all-nighters going through the workbook. But I breezed right through the exams!
Worst professor I've had. Rambles about himself and how cheap he is, must buy his book (dont know how he got it published with all copy/paste typos and repetitive practice questions), doesnt give material context, doesnt stick to syllabus, requires question asking but doesn't respond. Math professor that could care less about precision.
Ive taken a couple classes with Pro. Morgan. He knows his stuff and explains everything very well. You do have to purchase his workbook, but its a pretty good book for studying and notes. You definitely have to put in the work. The only thing I didnt like about him, was how strict he was with his rules and seating. Hes odd but a good teacher.
Awsom i took Professor Morgans Acc 101 and 102 during the pandemic i fond very difficulty to finish my class since the way of teaching and guidance help me to pass my class i was very happy to continue my studies with Proff Morgan he is exelent and he took me to the another level. wish all the best.
Took Prof Morgan's ACC101 online course and it was tough but as long as you stay on top of the workbook and study, you will pass. You do have to buy his workbook in order to get through the course but it's a super helpful study guide. Especially since his course is weighted more on the exams. He explains everything thoroughly. Great Prof overall.
He is a great professor. Professor Morgan uses his own workbook for this course. This workbook helps me a lot for studying, but I don't know if it helped other students. 4 midterms, written assignment per week (All answers are at the textbook), online homework and quizzes, 3 extra points. Good Luck!
Professor Morgan is amazing, very detail explanations, clear instructions, he never leaves anybody behind, constantly gives time for questions, really cares about students advancements. I have taken two of his classes and I am currently enrolled on the third one. I highly recommend taking Professor Morgans classes.
Professor Morgan was my favorite at OCC. He is funny and he knows how to capture your attention in class. You will leave this class with a lot of knowledge. You have to study in order to get a high grade but his teaching methods are the best. I highly recommend him!!
This is the first class of my college and the first class in america and was amazing! The professor was really nice and i enjoyed learning in this class. I cant wait to start Acc102 with the same professor next semester. I learned a lot from this class and it was usefull in my work too. I encourage everyone to take a class with this professor!
I also took Prof. Morgan for ACCT 101 and got an A, so I wanted consistency and took him again for 102. For me, Managerial accounting is more complex. I was taking over 19 units and didnt put in the study time to get an A. He provides a supportive environment in his classes. The workbook problems are very procedural and analytical.
I enjoyed this course so much! This course requires a workbook, that he wrote, and the workbook and lectures go hand-in-hand, which I enjoyed. There is a good amount of material, but as long as you put the time into the class you should end up with an A! One of my favorite courses I have taken in college so far!
He is an amazing professor! I took his class after failing my first acct course, and passed with an A! If you're unsure of anything, he answers during office hours with extreme clarity. He makes me want to almost switch my major to acct lol. Super informative and his exams were really doable. Take his course! You won't regret it.
I really enjoyed his class. For his online class, we used his own workbook and pre-recorded lessons to learn about financial accounting. The work load is not too much and the lectures and workbook help a lot. His tests are not too hard and he always has a smile on his face and joy in is tone. Cannot wait to have him for ACCT102. Highly recommend.
he's the worst professor I've ever had. he doesn't care about his student. he shows no sympathy. you are required to buy his textbook in order to complete the class. Don't take him.
I took Professor Morgan for both Acct 101 and 102. He is the best Professor I've ever had. He got my on track for accounting and now I work at an accounting firm. He took the time to meet with me after class ALL the time. Do the workbook, study that work, and you'll pass.
I felt as though I did not learn enough from his recorded lectures to do well on his tests. The tests are much harder than the examples in his notes, they are however similar. His lectures can get pretty dry and overwhelming. I ended up receiving an A in the class only because he curved everyone's grade at the end. You must buy his book which is $$
I'm currently taking his class for winter intercession and it's great! 3 exams, discussions every chapter, and mini quizzes. Everything is straight forward and his lessons are very clear and easy to understand. Accounting is so boring but he makes it interesting. You do need to buy his textbook but it is VERY HELPFUL for the exams.
There are A LOT of videos you have to go through every week and you follow along with your workbook. Pretty easy, though. If you want to study for a test you could just look back at the workbook.
Professor Morgan is hands down my favorite professor! He makes Accounting EASY TO UNDERSTAND. I have had him for two of my accounting classes now, he is the best!! I love how he teaches and his style of lectures. He WANTS you to pass! He helps you every step of the way and HE IS HILARIOUS. I haven't liked school like this in a long time, HES GREAT!
Honestly, I'm not sure why other students on here are so picky about buying his book! Everything in the book is featured in the exams!!! Please do not listen to the cheap students, this was one of the easiest A's I have ever got! Not only that - he gives a lot of extra credit!!!! Trust me, Take him!!! You will not regret it :-D
His class was one of the best classes I've ever taken. I'm coming back to take A102
I took Professor Morgan in the Fall of 2019. He was an interesting lecturer but fast-paced. I wish I knew what I was getting into before almost ruining my academic career. If you are going to take his class, I'd suggest hiring a tutor. Or take the class as a stronger, more experienced student. He is also strict but makes time to meet with you.
He makes accounting fun and understandable. If you show up and put in the work everyday, you will do well in the class. He is always helpful and is very quick on responding to questions. Take him if you get a chance.
I had the opportunity to discover accounting with Professor Morgan while I was still a student at OCC. His workbooks and lectures explain introduction accounting like bread and butter, I still reference it today as I'm studying my upper level accounting courses at university. Take this class, he is very knowledgable!
To anyone who is interested in taking Professor Morgan's class you have to purchase a textbook which is also a workbook that you need to write in. I signed up for his class last year but dropped out the 1st week so I didn't use the book it is brand new and if you're interested I can sell it 2 you at a discounted rate due to not being able 2 return.
The lectures were very clear and straightforward, there is a ton of writing in the textbook so make sure you have a comfortable writing utensil. Professor is very knowledgeable and has a lot of industry experience.
You do have to buy his textbook to partake in the class as the structure revolves it. Incredibly structured and thorough class structure, tests are a breeze if you did the work before. You can tell he is really passionate about what he's teaching and really dedicated to helping his students. Just get ready to dedicate some time.
Honestly, prof. Morgan is one of the best instructors I have ever had. The course was surprisingly organized. I probably had only a couple of questions during the semester, and prof Morgan always answered within a couple of hours. As long as you complete all assignments during the semester, it is easy to finish this course with grade A.
What makes Professor Morgan's class so good is that if you miss a class, he makes a recorded video available for students to watch.
This Professor was incredible!! He broke down the ton of information and placed it in his own workbook. So we were able to study the textbook and get a further understanding from his workbook along with videos that he made and that the book had laid out.
30-50 pages of his $150 workbook every. night. test material is similar to the workbook, and you should be able to get an A if you do the work. 500 pages though, and long, corny videos to watch too.
500 Page workbook - a lot of homework. The book is $150 and it is the Professor's book, he more than likely is making a profit from his students which is unethical in my opinion, as I am sure the book was probably $15 a piece to make. Some content online is outdated. But I will say this, class is structured and I did learn a thing or two.
I took professor Morgan for financial and managerial accounting. Best decision I could've made that entire year. He is super clear in how he explains the course material and his textbook goes hand in hand with what he's teaching. It's literally impossible to get lost in the material unless you're just not paying attention. PLEASE take his classes.
I took him for my Financial Accounting class in his recorded lecture with three exams in the college. Very professional in teaching. He simplifies everything in that class. His exams will be straightforward if you study the things in your textbook, and there is no need for your conclusion for most of the questions, only what he taught you in class.
I took him for both ACCT A101 and A102 and he gave so much work that for me was not manageable because i took more than 12 units per semester. He gave over 90+ pages just to do for the first week and this would seem manageable if you did a little unless you account the videos he post that you need to watch and other classes.
Don't listen to the bad reviews. I took this course with 17 units and it was very manageable, just don't wait an hour before class to do the homework. He uses one write-in textbook that makes the concepts that I still use clear and easy to follow. His lectures are all posted online. Grades are based on 5 tests. Best professor I've ever had.
Super easy class as long as you stay on top of the post lecture assignments. I got really sick halfway through the semester and fell behind but I was constantly following up with him asking for extensions and help. He still passed me even though I had a failing grade. Super cool and understanding dude 10/10
Took the online, 8-week managerial accounting course and it was great. People are complaining about the homework but it didn't seem unreasonable to me at all. Just put in a few hours a week and do all of the practice in the workbook and you'll do well. If you have any questions about anything along the way, Prof Morgan will answer them.
Took him for Financial & Managerial accounting and he was great. Lectures were interesting & I actually didn't mind showing up to a class for once. He does require you to buy his work/textbook though so if anyone is planning to take his A102 class OR his A101, hit my email --> bananasplitchittychatter at gmail and I will SELL IT TO YOU FOR CHEAP.
The workbook for his class is intimidating but it was really helpful and easy to fill out. Great lectures in the form of short videos. Clear and straightforward grading. Exams were really easy if you studied the workbook. Highly recommend this prof for beginners in accounting.
His lectures are easy to understand, your grade is reliant on exams but the content is simple because it's based on the workbook. He gives feedback and is willing to answer questions when you visit him during office hours, overall very helpful.
you definitely need to study like alot in order to get a good grade but good news it's not rocket science most of the kids with bad grades in this class are mentally challenged. he is the hardest accounting professor to get an A but is BY FAR the best at teaching the material. so if your desire is to learn the stuff take him if you want a A STUDY!
You have to buy his workbook. There is no textbook, nor can u buy one used since its a workbook. You use it in class as your notes. He spends a lot of time explaining the material clearly. Tests are a breeze if you show up to class and do the assign worked. You also get a page of notes for the tests. I enjoyed his class so much Im taking his ACC102
Corny jokes come with most lectures. If you miss class, he posts the lecture video for you to watch.
please don't listen to these reviews they are lying he used to be easier he's now anymore he gives a test that's worth 15% of your grade like every week and there's no more cheat sheet if you want a B its fine and easy but if you need a A take douglas. there's a reason why 50% of the class always drops him
Do not trust his reviews as he has changed. I heard he is fine for financial accounting but for managerial he is the worst. 85% of your grade is based on 3 exams and the homework is only 5% of your grade. He does not give you partial credit on exam questions, if you set it up correctly but got the wrong answer you will get a 0 on that question.
he makes his workbook MANDO but i'll sell you mine for cheap --> bananasplitchittychatter at gmail pretty solid professor tho, easy A
Throughout my time taking this course. Professor Morgan made it abundantly clear that your success in this class will not be dependent on whether you learn the material or not, nor will success in his class equate to an education of accounting.
Professor Morgan is a great teacher. For Managerial he allows one page of notes (but they have to be handwritten). 5 Exams total. Each exam covers 2 chapters. I really enjoyed taking his class. Too bad he doesn't teach more classes. I took him for 101 also. Got a B in that class.
Professor Morgan is the best professor I have ever had. He is dedicated, makes students passionate. If you want to find out if accounting is for you and want to learn the basics of accounting not just to pass but to take it with you for your career, take Prof Morgan's Financial and Managerial Accounting. Do your fair share of work, it's an easy A
Took this class hybrid. Class consists of 5 exams, and the last one is online. Lectures are easy to grasp and all the material are helpful. Tests are fair. Whatever he goes over, it will be on the test, nothing tricky. It's mandatory to buy his textbook, since it counts for 20% for grade if you complete them in time. Class is pretty doable.
Professor Morgan had really great lectures, he would answer questions right away. There are 7 exams which were very straightforwards because the lecture before he goes over what's on them. No extra credit, but he dis allow one sheet of paper for the last 3 exams. The material is fairly simple if you review the material. I Wished he taught morning:(
The best accounting professor I've had. His lectures and video content on Canvas ensure you don't fall behind. He strictly follows OCC policies, so missing three classes means being dropped. He's very accommodating to disabled students and always available during office hours. His lectures are engaging, and he provides helpful feedback.
He's the best Accounting professor I ever had, he teaches the lectures and has video content up on canvas, if you miss a lecture you won't fall behind. He works closely with ARC and is very accommodating for Disabled students. He's very responsive with both email and on Canvas. His class is set up so that you fill out a workbook while he lectures.
He's really caring of the students and helps explain the concepts to an understandable level. His exams are a little tough but is basically the homework. He has his own textbook/workbook that u fill in based on his video lectures which I liked because it helped me follow along the lectures better.
Professor Morgan's accounting class is challenging but engaging. His lectures and video content are great study aids. Though attendance is strict, he's accommodating and available. Using Unstuck AI alongside the workbook made prep a breeze. Would recommend for students willing to put in the work.
Super easy class, but beware because its a lot of things to memorize. The textbook is more like a workbook you have to bring to EVERY class. Hw is usually watching videos of him showing you how to do it. He's an extremely slow talker, so it might be easy to fall asleep. Teaches very slow as well, but he's super nice and loves participation.
Each lecture is slow and thorough, but what you see is what you get. There is nothing unexpected in this course, everything that is in class or in the homework for the course is exactly what you will see on each exam. He will even tell you what will be on each exam the class before. As plain as he seems to be, he can be surprisingly funny at times.
Professor Morgan is an amazing teacher if you're looking to understand accounting. His textbook may seem intimidating at first but it helps you digest the information and make it easy for you to understand. His exams are easy considering it's all taken from the textbook but they are information-heavy. He allows a sheet of paper for the last 3 exams
The textbook itself is $150 and HE WROTE IT. Also 90% of your grade is based on exams, so if you do bad, you're screwed. You have to read lectures yourself before class then he just goes over it. Plus, expect 25+ pages of homework regularly so if you have time to be studying and doing so much homework then this is the class for you.
All homework is done in the workbook, very easy to follow he posts the solutions to every page on canvas. Lectures are somewhat monotone but he gets the points across well. Allows one page written notes for the last few tests which is very useful. Class starts to ramp up a few weeks in so stay prepared.
I do not recommend this professor. Your grade is only based off exam grades. The exams are very difficult and trick questions. Attendance and completing your workbook will not change your grade at all. You will be teaching yourself accounting by taking this professor. He is a nice man, but his teaching method was not very beneficial for students.
Great professor, teaches accounting very well. Come to class everyday and do the homework, he takes test questions directly from the book.
Amazing teacher. Allows a whole cheat sheet to be used during exams (handwritten). Can be scary when mad, but has THE most forgiving grading system for HW I've ever had. Very nice most the time, he really does want his students to pass. Bit of advice: make a class discord and wait for the smarties test cheat sheets for ideas and structure.
