she's such a great teacher
Great teacher!
Interesting lectures...sometimes. Sexy! Curve helps. Very understanding
good teacher...
great teacher and she's there to help you
awesome teacher!!! great class! HIGHLY recomend
Great Teacher. Have to study hard for tests. Essay Final.
Great teacher, she is very helpful and gives practice exams
Excellent teacher, made class interesting.
very easy and a very nice lady. test questions are right off study sheets
spoon feeds u,EASY FINAL,knows her stuff,helpful
Excellent teacher!! Made lectures very interesting! Class was easy...just study and take notes! She should not have gotten cut!!!!!!!
very easy, brings up funny stories about her life, understanding; do not slack and it's an easy A. tests always curved.
super cool teacher. really interesting and informative lectures. not very much work for the class. lots of notes, so don't miss class. tests are not too bad. only need 4 out of 5 tests for the semester.
Dude, this class is so easy, just take the notes and go to the tests. The teacher is cool and isn't very boring. Take this class, its like an easy A.
THIS TEACHER IS AWESOME. I LOVED THE CLASS & THE TEACHER.
Fun class and really good teacher. Gets students involved, which may sound lame, but in a lecture, helps pass the time a lot. Tests are easy and straight from class. Can be boring on some days that you just write notes but not too bad for the most part.
definitely a good prof. I'd highly recommend her to anyone taking Philosophy. Tests aren't bad and the whole grade is 4/5 tests.
she is a great teacher. notes are all you need for tests and if you can get those down, you are set. her study guides are really helpful too. she made the class enjoyable.
She is soo funny. She has the funniest stories about her kids that she relates to phil. her lecture are really easy and she interactes with the students.
I studied high for about an hour for most tests and got a B. Very cool teacher. Random stories about her genius kids and such, but doesn't stray for too long. Take her for Phil 102.
super nice professor, and she explains things thoroughly.
She's the hottest asian i've ever seen! But seriously, it's and easy A if you put a little effort in. The papers are a joke if you put the time in. Same goes for the tests. Just make sure you don't get lazy, or else you won't know what's going on when you take the tests.
She is such a nice and sweet teacher, makes class as interesting as it can be. she is very knowledgeable about phil. and gives you a study guide for each test which is a great guideline. go to the lecture or borrow someones notes bc only a few readings, bc you get your info from the lecture
I had her three years ago and she is still THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE HAD AT SDSU!!! Take her you will learn a lot about life...
she is honestly one of the best teachers i've ever had. i highly recommend this class. it will make you think and it's really not very difficult. it just might change your life! it made me consider changing my major to philosophy!
She's a great teacher, makes the class interesting. Take any and all philosophy classes with her! There are 5 tests, which aren't cumulative, and the lowest one is dropped, so if you do well, you can skip the final. There's an extra credit option at the end. She gives study guides which are really helpful, and there's no book.
easy class. BEST TEACHER YET. Go to class and look over notes. Allows you to have 1 page notes for 3 tests (cram all your notes on there and you'll do fine. INTERESTING too, you learn a lot about life.
she is the best teacher i've had so far! she's very thorough in explaining all of the material, and she does this in an entertaining way. full-page front & back cheat sheets are allowed on most tests, and you can give a presentation instead of taking the final... very easy class. great professor, very insightful.
PROF NEUNER IS A REALLY GOOD PROFESSER! SHE MAKES PHILOSOPHY FUN! I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO GOING TO HER CLASS. YOUR GRADE IN THE CLASS IS BASED ON CLASSROOM ATTENDENCE AND 4 OUT OF 5 TESTS. SHE GIVES YOU AN ESSAY OR PRESENTATION OPTION ON 2 OF THEM. YOU CAN HAVE A WHOLE PAGE (FRONT AND BACK) OF CHEAT SHEETS, SO TAKE ADVANTAGE! EASY A OR B! :)
Great teacher. She makes the material actually stick. Class makes you think [connects Phil with life]. Best teacher yet. Takes best 4 exams (presentation or essay) out of 5. Pleasure being her student.
she's very smart and very nice. A good teacher. She talks about her kids alot.
The class seemed very daunting until I took it with Professor Nuener. She is a great teacher and makes logic seem easy--which it is! Her lectures are methodical and build upon each other so it is important to go to class. Also do the homework. It doesn't take long and it will help! I have never been fond of math but her class was actually fun!
I love her, she is so sweet!
bad ass class- barely have to study for tests because classes are thorough and essays help with studying
This class is insanely easy, you have in class handouts that are everything you need to know, and four paper-test combos. She is a very nice woman, talks about her kids a lot, sweet, and tries her best to help however she can and be as fair as possible. Not always the most interesting, but that's the subject:) i highly recommend her, she's very goo
Must've had it out for me. First essay I got a D...took 20% off for "grammar/spelling errors" (when there weren't that many and this isn't an english class), then took off 20% again because I evaluated using definitions but didn't mention fallacies by name (which was not part of the prompt). Tends to make me feel ignorant. Talks about kids A LOT.
I LOVE PROFESSOR NEUNER!! She is the best teacher ever. She's so understanding, helpful, clear, and sweet. She bends over backwards to try and accomodate you. There are 3 tests, four essays, no final. If you fail a class from her, then you don't deserve to be in college.
This is seriously one of the sweetest and nicest teachers that i've ever had. She even brings in extra scantrons for the students who forgot theirs. Very easy class as long as you show up. Very little homework (3 short essays, 1 long one), and 3 ridiculously easy tests.
PROF NEUNER IS SO GREAT! She really has her students at heart. Four essays and three tests, no final. She seriously bends over backwards to help her students out. She let me turn in my second essay a month late, and I still got a better grade than half the class. Go to class and pay attention! It makes everything so much easier.
Don't take her. She's not THAT attractive; has an irritating air about her, condecending. Marks down essays like 20% on grammar/spelling even though this isn't an English class, and then even more if the paper isn't exactly the way she wants it. Grades on criteria not mentioned in class or on handouts. Talks about kids forever, lectures boring. NO.
Not only one of the nicest teacher's i've ever had, but one of the nicest people. I don't know if I ever saw her even frown. Always upbeat, and nice, even at times where she could have easily gotten mad at very rude students. She was always willing to explain and help out to accommodate students. The best professor i've had to date.
She is the best teacher ive ever had. She is so sweet and makes the class fun and easy. I recommend her.
such a fun and interesting class. Professor Neuner is like top 3 best professor that i have has at sdsu...sweet lady and very fair grading system
She's Bomb! not super hot, but who cares. You have to put forth effort to get an A. I failed the mid term and she said there was no way I could get an A, and I did, partly cause Im a bad-ass mo fo, but also cause she pretty much laid it all out in fron of you.WAY BETTER THAN RWS 200. Anyone who cant pass this class is an IDIOT! Shes hella flexible!
Shes really nice and easy. Goes over everything in detail. Attendance isnt taken. 5 tests, 3 essays, 1 final paper makes up grade. All tests are easy, essays and paper are ok. Minimal studying is needed. Class can get dry but its bearable. I went probably 2/3 of the time and got an easy A. The reader is unnecessary and theres no textbook. Take her
Great teacher- very clear and makes the material extremely easy to understand. Is flexible on both attendance and turning in assignments, lets you email most things to her without even going to class. Gives opportunities to bring your grade up a lot, and no final!!! If you have this class, TAKE HER!
Professor Neuner was so clear and really helped her students. At first I thought the course material was going to be challenging but after the first test it was all downhill and she provides extra credit and is very understanding. Just do the take home essays/ projects and it is an easy A
Possibly one of the best teachers i've had at sdsu so far. She's so nice and makes the class "fun"..even though it's a class. Workload consists of a few essays and in class tests, no hw to speak of. She's more then willing to help if you need it. Definitely recommend her as a teacher.
This prof is awesome!! She is so easy and really helpful. Take her!
She's really upbeat, nice, and tries to make the subject fun. She's really laid-back, too. The class itself is really easy. Definately one of the best teachers!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CLASS! Prof. Neuner is so nice. not only are your best 6 assignments towards your grade, she gives you extra credit to help you get a higher grade. no textbook, only 3 essays. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!!
Professor Neuner is such a wonderful professor. She explains the material so clearly that it's hard not to do well in the class. Very little work outside of class. It was a class that I truly looked forward to.
nicest prof ive ever had. material is kind od hard, but she goes out of her way to help u with the material. takes the best 6/9 grades, easy if u keep on top of everything. gives u plenty of chances to get a better grade towards end of semester. take this class! u will not regret it!even brings snacks!hilarious!my fav prof!
Professor Neuner is awesome! Had her last semester and she is so helpul and an all around great person. She gives 9 assignments throughout the course and your top 6 are counted. These range from quizzes, tests, papers, etc.) There is no reason that you shouldn't get at least a high B. RECOMMENDED!
At first, I hated this class ( due to the content studied at the beginning..) but I now love it. She is very quirky and funny, and really thoroughly teaches the concepts. Tests are curved, she allows you to use a page of notes & drops worst assignment grade. If you put forth effort, you'll do well. Also, material is very interesting. Take this class
She is very funny and the class is interesting enough cause I never got bored. There are seven assignments/ tests and you get to drop 3 of the lowest which helps a lot. Really recommend her.
Possibly my favorite teacher this semester. You should definitely take this class!
Heres the best summary of her class. She is enthusiastic and knowledgeable, she teaches very clear, uses transparencies during lectures, uses lots of examples. Her class is not hard at all. You only need to complete 4 out of 7 assignments, there is no homework. There final 6pg paper and a midterm paper. You just need to go.Its an interesting class.
easy professor, just don't get sidetrack. she only counts 4/7 best score assignments and 2 midterm exams and a final essay.
not an easy A but Bs are achievable if you slightly try. strict grader. 4 exams, 2 midterm essays, 1 final paper. i highly suggest doing the other extra exams which can replace your poorer grades. she's helpful but not crystal clear so ask questions if you're confused! definitely interesting subject.
she is a very easy and nice professor. i highly recommend her. she gives very little homework and no reading. you have 7 assignments and 2 papers for the whole semester, but she takes the top 4 assignments grades, which leaves you with 3 optional assignments. there is no midterm or final exams.
i really enjoyed this class. a lot of interesting topics discussed. not an easy A but not too difficult. 6 quizzes and only 4 of them count so the lowest 2 are dropped. midterm is a take home essay & then a final essay. no final. she lets class out early a lot & attendence isn't mandatory.coursebook is useful.
This is the second class I have had with Dr. Neuner. I enjoyed her as a professor in a smaller class rather than in this 250 seat class. The class has 6 assignments and she drops the lowest grade. There was a lot of material being covered all at once and it was very easy to be confused. She is a really helpful teacher as well as the TAs.
one of the best teachers i have ever had! she is so caring and really enjoys what she does. very approachable and i enjoyed going to class because of her! take this class if you can!!
Amazing!! Class was interesting and lectures aren't hard to go to and theyre not mandatory. Just talk to her and she will help you. Takes 5 out of 6 grades, 1 paper and 5 tests. Pretty easy class not a lot of reading or writing. She is funny and relates things to college students. Reccomend this professor for sure!!
extremely helpful and a terrific teacher. I'd highly recommend
She's a really good professor and makes everything clear. It's an easy class if you study..she gives study guides and everything on the study guide is on the test. It's an interesting class and I recommend it with Dr. Neuner.
awesome teacher. she makes philosophy interesting. if you want an A; go to class, read the book and you'll get it.
Interesting and crystal-clear lectures. Gives out study guides, and there are no surprises on the exams. Overall great learning experience.
Explains concepts reall well if this is your first class. works with you, does at least one take home exam and allows notes on other exams. know theory/principles and you will do well.
She is by far one of the worst lecture professors at SDSU. She was highly disorganized and complained more about her family and budget cuts than the material. She refused to teach 102 material and taught 101 material because she is lazy. I am glad she is NO LONGER teaching at SDSU, and hope that she never again will return.
Great teacher, great class. Got me really interested in philosophy, take her if you can.
Extremely easy course. Material was very interesting ranging from Assisted suicide, abortions to Human research and Animal research. Class is curved with a mix of scantron and short answers. Study guides are provided weeks in advance. If your looking to expand your knowledge on the ethical procedures done in life, take this professor.
Easy teacher, tests based off lecture notes, posts everything on blackboard should you miss class.. god forbid.
She is such an amazing teacher! She is so nice and so funny! The sweetest and most understanding professor! I loved this class! Not a big work load, and she is awesome! Recommend to everyone!
This class was clear and easy. Professor (Neuner) was super helpful, and always had a cute smile on and was nice to us all. I strongly recommend her for PHIL110, you have 6 "quizzes" but only 4 count, so if you get 4 A's on those (or an A average) you just need to write the midterm& final paper! Easy stuff though, she explains everything!
My favorite teacher this semester. The class had the perfect layout to succeed. Though some of the material was difficult, she was extremely helpful and gave us opportunities to make up bad grades (by having only four out of six assignments count). Loved her, loved the class. Take her!!!
very easy to understand. my favorite so far. made me look foward to going to class and easy work just pay attention and participate. very fun. uses textbook but it is her own and it is dumbed down and very easy to follow.
Her class is super easy! shes is really good at teaching the subject, attendance not required but you may get lost if you do not go, just go you never have to read at home! 6 assignments, lowest 2 get dropped, 1 mandatory midterm essay and 1 final essay. TAKE THIS CLASS. Almost a gauranteed A, plus learn interesting stuff.
She is so nice and so funny! She gives you a total of 6 assignments and the best 4 count plus a midterm and a final (both essays). Class is not mandatory but it is very helpful to go because she explains everything so well. She always lets you out of class early and is really helpful after class hours.
My favorite teacher so far at State. Explains material in a simple, easy to understand way. Only 4 out of 6 assignments count for the entire semester, plus a midterm and final paper (pretty easy). She is really funny and always happy to teach!
Fantastic teacher! I've taken two of her classes now and they've both been great! Exams are extremely straightforward; if you study, you'll get an A and she makes study guides that outline the exam, basically. Definitely need the book to study for exams. HIghly recommend taking this class!
Class not mandatory, but if you dont go your screwed because there is no text book jut her hand made workbook. AWESOME teacher, willing to help or regrade ur paper if ask for help, tests/quizes are fairly easy, interesting topic, 1 midterm, 1 final, and 6 other (quizes or writings) and lowest two get dropped. shes happy, no real text reading. take!
Didn't know how boring Philosophy was until this class but it isn't her, its the subject. It was pretty awesome of her to post free readings on BB so that we didn't have to buy books. FREE CLASS. Easy grading with curves. Recommended.
Great teacher and makes the subject interesting. Study the material and do her study guides and you will do well!
GREAT CLASS! The material was very interesting sometimes confusing but her powerpoints are great! She makes them fun with sound effects she's so cute!:) Always has office hours. I would take my blank study guide and her TA and I would fill it out together he would explain EVERYTHING. Guaranteed good grade IF YOU STUDY! No homework no book required.
Easy and fun class! Your grade consists of only midterms (final is optional), so it's easy to do well as long as you show up. Study groups held by TA Mr. Murray are extremely helpful and will improve your grade on the midterms. It's also beneficial to do the readings posted online. Good class.
Enjoyable and easy class! She makes powerpoints fun and the material relatively easy to understand. Grade is based solely on 4 midterms and the final (optional), so you should do well as long as you attend class. Study groups with TA Justin Murray are very helpful, as well. No textbook, just readings. Great class!
Take notes on PowerPoints(type to the things she says too) and supplement with Wikipedia/Google (they like their google adwords). Computer notes are essential, she jumps around a lot and writing takes too long. Funny class. Awesome study guide. 5 tests. counts the 4 best scores. Great professor!
I absolutely love Dr. Neuner! She's extremely funny and makes the material easy to understand and interesting at the same time. She uses contemporary examples (usually involving her kids) to demonstrate the concepts. I had her for Phil 110 last semester, but you have to read and study a bit more for this class. I still aced this class though.
Dr. Neuner is extremely awesome in every way possible! I also took her Phil 101 class b/c she's so bomb at what she does. This class was really easy and you didn't necessarily have to read through the workbook b/c she would explain everything in class anyway. I aced her class and she didn't even read my final paper!
Such a sweet, nice lady. Grade strictly based on 5 tests and she takes the best 4 so you don't have to take the final if you are happy. Covers pretty much all test material with powerpoints in class and the study guides are really helpful. Attendance not mandatory but helpful. Makes learning philosophy fun by relating it to real life and her kids!
3 exams, 5 online quizzes, one 3-4 page paper, and optional final. Wasn't hard for me, online quizzes are open book tests are mainly multiple choice with a few short essay questions. Keep up with the readings, they pile up. Thought the professor was nice & fair. Wrote the midterm paper, (wasn't bad) & didn't have to take the final, got an A.
Great professor. Decent, semi-dry class content with many articles to read. Prof Neuner is very understanding to students' needs and lifestyles. Don't need to buy book! Just scan/ look for articles online via SDSU library website.
VERY WONDERFUL PROFESSOR. I did not do so well in the beginning so I went to talk to her about it and she gave me great tips. I did and I began acing all her tests/quizzes! Take her she's great, buy the book for the quizzes bc sometimes answers are straight from the book.
Dr. Neuner is awesome. The workbook she gives you is basically a giant study guide, and it makes learning the material so much easier. She always comes to class with a smile, and even cancels Friday class a few times during the semester just because she feels like it. Awesome class.
All readings are provided online and the grade is based on four of five exams. Her PowerPoints are really helpful in lecture and she provides visuals. Very easy class if you use the study guides.
Do the readings and take notes during the lectures. It was easy to have the lectures online so that I could just type all my notes which saved a lot of time. Only 5 out of 7 are counted for each quizzes, tests, etc, so don't ask for a curve - this is already generous enough. Don't be discouraged if you don't do well right away.
She is so funny! She tends to go off on tangents about her life while lecturing but it's hilarious. Grade is made up of 4 "major assignments" (3 tests, 1 midterm paper) & six online quizzes. She drops one of the major assignments and 2 of the quizzes. Easy A.
Online class exams were difficult. Material was dry and the TAs grade very hard on essays. However, I learned a lot about medical ethics and I am glad the class was online. The lecture videos explained the assigned readings which was nice.
This course is a hybrid course so half of the week, you attend class, and then the other half is an online lecture or online quiz. Course isn't too difficult. Not an easy A, however, because you do have to put work into it. Quizzes are open note, but can be somewhat difficult. Tests aren't too bad. Penafuerte keeps class entertaining.
Great professor! No textbook, all the articles are put on Blackboard. It is a lot of work, definitely not an easy A, but the material is really interesting. She takes the top 5 of 7 assignments for the major tests, quizzes, and discussion board posts, so if you slip up at first it's no big deal.
Lectures were basically repeats of the readings for the first half of the semester so I stopped reading. She seems really interested in her students. I was amazed by how many named she remembered throughout the year. She seems super friendly and you hear a lot about her family. If interested in Philosophy definitely take this class.
Very funny during her lectures. Your grade consists of 5 out of 6 categories: Test 1, Test 2, Test 3, Quizzes (4 out of 6), Essay, and Final. It is possible to skip the final, go to class and take good notes and you should have an easy A.
Very funny professor, her lectures are entertaining and she ends up dropping an assignment. Go to class and pay attention and you'll be fine
Dr Neuner's Intro to Philosophy course is a great GE. The class is super easy if you just show up and take notes from her powerpoints. You can do well without reading the book but when I read the few pages that were assigned I would ace the online quizzes. She is very clear and super funny, great, easy class that I would take again.
Easy class and happy woman. MUCH better than the woman who usually teaches phil120 (Reyes).
She is so fun! Her class is pretty easy if you put a little effort in. Curves all exams and they are very clear and exactly what she talked about in lectures. Take her!
This class if pretty easy and she gives you a lot of opportunities to pass. If you have to take Phil 101 I would highly recommend her!
I loved her she made everything interesting and her powerpoints all had cute little animations. She gives you everything you need to pass and get an A - my favorite class this semester!
Dr. Neuner puts all of her lectures on BlackBoard, so attending class is only mandatory if you're having trouble with the online homework or if you want extra credit, which is handed out sparingly. The tests are basically the same as the homework, and aren't difficult at all if you work on the practice problems in the textbook and do the homework.
Dr. Neuner puts all of her lectures on BlackBoard, so attending class is only mandatory if you're having trouble with the online homework or if you want extra credit, which is handed out often. The tests are basically the same as the homework, and aren't difficult at all if you work on the practice problems in the textbook and do the homework.
Online class, you have weekly work that you should complete on time or it piles up. Weird schedule, multiple tests, quizzes, and Dboards. All very easy. Take good notes when you play her lecture, you can use them during quizzesexams. Easy B with little effort. Odd subject material, if you are super religiousopinionated you might pass on this one.
This class screwed me over, I got a D and I attended almost every class. I had a rough semester and this class wasn't my entire focus, not sure if it was me or the class.
This class was extremely easy as long as you do the readings and look at the review questions. There aren't any surprises on tests so going to lecture definitely helps, but depending on the type of student you are it may not be necessary to go all the time.
She doesn't pronounce the "h" in human, and it can get super annoying.
I loved this class! She is such a nice lady, you learn a lot, and it is really easy. If you understand the homework questions you will do great on the tests, because they are basically the same. Just by going to class and doing the homework with not much effort, I got an A on all the tests and didn't need to take the final. It's a fun class!
Professor Neuner was the best professor I've had so far. She makes class enjoyable and she always has a positive attitude. She offers so much help and her tests are easy as long as you do the study guide. The topic itself didn't interest me at first, but she made it very easy to understand. I definitely would take her class again. (-:
Amazing teacher. Funny, helpful, and easy class to boot. If you ever miss a day she always puts up review slides of the lecture so you can see what you miss. Technically you could probably not go to this class any day except for the tests and still pass however I do not recommend this because the lectures are usually very fun and teach you a lot.
Neuner's logic class is very easy. The way she teaches is easy to comprehend, but her teaching style makes the class feel like it's going on forever.
Loved this class! She's a great teacher, very good at what she teaches. I would recommend you take her for any philosophy class you can. She gives 10points of EC at the end of the semester. 4 tests + a final but she drops one score. I did well enough that I already have an A and don't have to take the final. Same with hw. Go to class lectures! :)
Her grade is completely based on tests but its all from her lectures which are really straight forward and easy. She does everything she can to keep you entertained and laughing. Not a fan of Philosophy in general, but she was awesome! Would take again.
She is so funny! I loved this class with her. Honestly, everybody should take this class with her regardless of major. Honestly enjoyed every single lecture. Online quizzes are open-book open-note. She wrote the course reader as well, which makes it much cheaper for students. She really tries to help out.
She has interesting lectures. She puts majority of her lecture slides online, but she explains them further in class and it makes sense. She drops two quizzes. Very easy to pass and get a good grade if you read the lecture notes and actually read your course reader. Overall, I really enjoyed the class and took a lot from it!
I never attended the lectures and only went to class to take the tests because she puts all of her lectures on blackboard. She gives open notes online quizzes that are easy if you try and drops 2 quizzes at the end of the semester. You can also write an essay in place of any exam even the final. I could have gotten a better grade if I tried harder
She is very very nice and she'll help you a ton if you need it! Make sure you take good notes during her lectures and know them well. You'll get a pretty good grade on the tests if you know/memorize the stuff. Her tests are NOT cumulative (she also gives a small curve) and for our semester, she only counted 4 out of 6 quizzes.
Her humor and entertaining lectures (powerpoints) are enough to keep you interested in class. 6 online quizzes, she drops your lowest 2, and 4 exams with an optional essay. Textbook is needed to answer most of the quiz questions which are pretty tricky. Also DO THE STUDY GUIDES and you will do well on the tests. She also curves exams.
I needed this class for a math credit. Make sure to pay attention because the work is confusing and she doesn't explain stuff well. She's really nice and funny though and the lectures aren't boring, just a hard to follow. She'll drop on exam grade and one homework grade so do well on them so you can miss the final.
This was such a great class. She is very humorous so lectures are not boring. You don't necessarily have to go to class in order to succeed, but I would recommend going. She gives you the ability to choose 4 out of 6 major assignments that vary from exams to writing a paper to quizzes. Overall, easy exams straight from study guide.
She uploads a study guide a week before the test, they cover every question she could ask. It's hard to not get an A on the test. She curves the tests sometimes, sometimes she doesn't. Online quizzes (4/6 count), optional essay, and either one quiz or the whole quiz set is dropped in addition. Super funny lectures, learn alot & worth it. Got 97%
I did not like this class because I found her to be so annoying. She tries to be funny and it just doesn't work. The class isn't too bad. I honestly didn't try very hard so I am ending the semester with a B. But I am sure if you tried you can get an A. She offers ways to get out of doing a test or essay so it can work in your favor.
I only took Philosophy 120 because I didn't want to take an actual math class & I do not regret it. The first half of the semester is really easy and the second half can be a confusing. But she does a great job going over the material. Tests are easy, and her classes are fun! Would take again!
Easy class. Professor Neuner puts up study guides for each test & if you study that, you'll definitely get an A on the test. Class isn't mandatory, but I'd recommend going just because she goes over a lot of what's going to be on the test. She makes lectures fun & short. She gives many opportunities to raise your grade. Would take her class again!
4 of 6 best assignments count towards grade. Quiz set (4 of 5),4 Exams,Paper, Final. Aside from the final, you can pick if you wanna do all or skip some. Lecture can be a bit redundant & boring but she tries to add jokes. Everything on the test is on the study guide so know it all for easy A & answers are sometimes in readings. Sometimes curves.
Love this professor. SO great honestly, gives you so many opportunities to get a solid grade in this class. Provides study guides, multiple assignments in which you only have to do 4 out of 6. She's engaging, caring, nice. Just so great, you gotta take her
Neuner is the best, hands down. Short and easy lectures, and her online ones were good too. 6 major assignments, you get to drop two of them. 5 quizzes you get to drop one of them. The readings are extremely important for getting good grades especially for the quizzes. Easy A if you just put in the time.
If all professors were like Professor Neuner, the world would be a better place. Seriously she's an amazing professor, her lectures are not boring even for a large-lecture setting, she's funny and charismatic and even offers and extra credit paper if you need a grade (its tough). Her course is what made me add Philosophy as a minor.
Dr. Neuner is such an AMAZING professor. She is knowledgeable, passionate about philosophy, and very charismatic. She has a quirky sense of humor and everything we talked about in this class was very interesting. I love her so much!! I would definitely take this class all over again!
She was a very reasonable teacher! It is definitely not a struggle to get an 8. She drops your lowest quiz and you only have to complete 4 out of 6 major assignments which includes the final! She does not take attendance so lectures aren't mandatory
Honestly her lectures are awesome and you can tell she puts a lot of effort into them even though they're kinda cheesy. If you study the study guides you will do well on tests. I'd definitely take her again because I love her personality!! There are 6 major assignments (5 tests and an essay) but you only have to do 4.
Take this professor. Her lectures are never boring. She's really nice, laid back. Curves most tests and end grades. She always lets class out a little early. Her lectures and stories are interesting and funny. 6 major assignments, 2 are dropped (final and essay are optional). 5 quizzes, but she drops 1. YOU WILL NOT REGRET TAKING THIS PROFESSOR.
Pretty much the stereotypical philosophy teacher. Pondered about the material too much in class and taught the big ideas too little. You're better off reading her online texts rather than going to class. Overrated.
very doable class if you're willing to take the time to learn the material. drops lowest test score and homework assignment.
drops lowest test grade and homework grade. she's not very good at doing logic. you'd be better off learning the material she teaches from youtube. it baffled me how many mistakes she made in teaching the material. some homework and test questions are also not very well thought out. class isn't hard, but you'll get a better education elsewhere
Dr. Neuner is awesome, the class is hybrid so there's one online lecture a week. Online quizzes aren't too bad if you have your notes and the reader and you have plenty of time to finish them. Tests follow the study guide and are usually curved. Her lectures are fun to listen to and she tells funny stories. Very passionate, great prof
dr. neuner is a good professor, she's pretty funny but i still found the class too boring to keep attending since she doesn't take attendance. there are 7 total tests/quizzes/essays and you can choose whatever 5 out of those 7 to actually count towards your grade. so if you mess up on a test or even two, you can still get an A.
She's a great professor; However, the class is EXTREMELY BORING. I encourage you to NOT take this class and take World Religions instead..
She is very nice and funny and really tries to explain everything clearly so that everyone understands. The class is pretty easy if you pay attention during lectures. She drops your lowest test and homework grade, Since I had an A before the final I didn't even have to take the final and still got an A in the class.
Easy class. Show up to lectures and take notes and you'll do fine. 4 Exams, 1 Final, 1 Essay, and a quiz set. You pick 5 of these to make up your grade. Would highly recommend
Consists of 4 exams, online quizzes, and an optional final exam and final essay. Attendance isn't mandatory and she's pretty chill and funny, but the class is super unorganized and she presents material in a very confusing way. However, she's a pretty lenient grader and provides study guides for every exam.
She was an amazing professor. I saw her outside of class at her office hours (she will help you!) & also attended help the TA's provided. I slacked off & got a few bad grades that I couldn't shake off in the end. Typically best 4/5 for HW & tests. Attend the class & watch the online lectures it helps. Attendance isn't mandatory though.
She teaches very well because the information she gets out is exactly the stuff on the test. To get a solid A go to her lectures and read the textbook and online materials. It doesn't take that long if you break it all up. If you do this the tests are easy. Don't take her for granted and do the work. She is very nice and deserves the respect.
Best teacher ever!! Her powerpoint presentations are AMAZING, she probably spends hours on each one just to keep her class more entertained. Clearly goes over the information you need to know for the tests, and creates study guides which are very helpful. Book is not necessarily needed, but it helps with the online quizzes and study guide Q's
TAKE HER!! she is the funniest lecturer ever and always knows how to keep the class engaged in a huge lecture. Class isn't mandatory, but helps a lot with understanding the material. Tests are pretty easy if you study and she drops 2/6 sections before the final. Such an interesting class, 10/10 would take again.
Professor Neuner is one of my favorite professors. Thoe her class is confusing lectures are well set so you can go back through. If you study it is a very easy B if not an A. Great professor!
Professor Neuner is the best!! Her class is very interesting and easy to understand. If you go to most of the lectures and study a little for the tests then you'll most likely get an A. You don't really need the book but it did help a little when studying. Take this class! You won't regret it!!
Professor Neuner's class is honestly so chill. Lectures aren't mandatory but it definitely helps to go. She's super nice and does whatever she can to help her students. I would definitely recommend her class to anyone.
Her lectures are very informative. She makes them funny by adding her stories. Attendance isn't mandatory but high recommended because the book is sometimes hard to understand. Tests are alright, just make sure you study & you should be fine. She gives a study guide before each test. It's such a fun class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING IT
Amazing professor. She is hilarious and her lectures are extremely entertaining. She only grades 4/6 assignments so you have room for mistakes. Take her class.
Dr. Neuner's class is very organized and has clear grading criteria. The textbooks for her classes are really easy to follow, because they are written by her. Even so, they aren't expensive ($20). She also is very good at explaining things, and has online lectures posted that you can use to review.
5 tests(including final) and 6 hw sets. The lowest exam score and two lowest hw scores are dropped. Do well and you could technically be done a few weeks early. Don't skip, it'll only make it harder. Sometimes she over-explained things and used metaphors which confused some ppl but overall shes a great prof.
This class was easy and interesting. MUCH EASIER than stats if you have the option to take this class over stats. Neuner is witty and explains the material well. You only need to buy the course reader and it's like $15. She drops your lowest test grade and lowest 2 homework/quiz grades. If you put in a decent amount of effort you'll do fine
Professor Neuner was an amazing professor! Lectures are not mandatory but it really helps to go because she makes the material easy to understand. There are 4 exams, an essay, and a set of online quizzes (soo easy) but you can choose your best 4 out of the 6 to count towards your grade. Theres a mandatory final but it isn't cumulative. Super easy A
If you hate math, or suck at math, then take this course. It counts as a math GE, and has literally no numbers. It's such an easy course. Neuner is such an amazing professor helps you understand the material if you get lost. Lot's office hours. You can skip classes because online lectures posted, optional final. This class is def an easy solid A.
If you need a GE for Math, I recommend this course. Especially, if dislike math. Also, if you're good at self teaching, you don't have to go to class either. The class is divided into 5 exams (100pts each), and 6 hw assign.(25pts each). However, she only counts 4 of each. So if you do well on the first 4 exams and 4 HW assign., you're done.
Def in the top 3 most amazing professors/classes that I have taken. She is a gem! Puts effort into her slides and material to make it interesting/funny and shows so much wit. The class itself is extremely easy. Her lectures made my day and the tests were straight forward.
She is a super sweet professor and her lectures are very informative. She is also available for extra help outside of class. I would recommend going to class just because some people won't pick up this material as quick, because it's different than a regular math class. But overall go to class, take notes, go to office hours and you should be solid
I don't know if I would've liked this class more if another teacher had taught it. I found very annoying and distracting how she would always talk about how rich she is. The class itself is very easy and you can study the night before for all tests. Essay topics are very easy. Take this class if you want an easy A.
She's super sweet. You have two choices you can go to class and never open your reader (that she wrote so it's literally the class + it was also not super expensive) or you can never go to class and just really get into your book and watch the online lectures if you're confused. If you need something to fullfill a math requirement DO IT!!!
Great class! Simplest math course if you put in effort. She is very witty and easy to follow. If you miss a class, it's okay because she usually reviews it the next time. She drops your lowest exam and homework grade. She also hand grades tests to give partial credit! It's hard to fail this class if you just speak to her about it!
I loved taking Dr. Neuner! She is so funny, always puts funny things into her powerpoints and says random stuff to make the class laugh. Let's you drop an exam or drop the essay if u don't like writing. online quizzes (there's about 7) and she lets you drop the two lowest scores you got. overall, pretty easy class to pass and she makes lecture easy
I loved Dr. Neuner and her class! She caused me to change my major to philosophy. She is very funny and engaging, which is why I was disappointed when the lectures seemed to be less passionate and more formulaic the last couple weeks when she opted to follow paper handouts. The handouts made the lecture less engaging and more memorization-driven.
She explains everything in the most backward way. As soon I finally understand what she's trying to teach I see so many better ways to explain it. She will spend 20 minutes on something so easy and then spend 2 on the hard part. Should not be a lecture class.
I absolutely loved her and this class! If you don't show up to class at least most of the time, nothing will make sense. But if you show up and listen to her lectures, she explains everything so well and in ways that really make sense. Definitely would take again!
Sure, I'm required to take philosophy, but this class is a bore. Who cares about the history of philosophers? I want to apply it to real life situations. I understand it's a lecture, but Neuner is an odd character and I find the lectures (especially online) pretty unorganized and boring. Quizzes and tests take a bit of work but aren't super hard.
Accommodating, caring professor. I took logic just because she was teaching it. She's like a mom. Everyone loves her. She knows you have other classes, so she will keep assignments to a minimum, if at all. Exams are easy. For Phil521, easy A. Phil120, even easier A. No need to buy any materials or show up to classes.
There are 4 tests, 3 tests and a final. You have the option to write an essay to replace one of the 3 tests, but not the final. There are 6 quizzes, but only 4 count. It's an easy A, but you have to write everything she says in lecture. The study guide has everything the test contains. I never used the course reader. Curves tests by few points.
Super easy class! I highly recommend attending, it makes the tests so much easier. She gives study guides, lets you replace one test with an essay, and drops 2 of 6 quizzes. Just do the study guides and review them once or twice before the test. The book is helpful for quizzes and only $15 so I would recommend. Also learned a lot!
Dr. Neuner is a great professor. I took both PHIL101 and 120 and I loved going to her classes. Definitely going to miss having her this semester. If you need a math course to fulfill your GE requirements, TAKE 120!! Easiest math class ever
This is my 2nd time taking her and she's super easy prof to understand. I took phil120 and passed with an A barely studying. Phil 101 is more memorizing but very easy too. 3 exams and final (curves A LOT) (optional essay), 5 quizzes online, no hw besides reading. She gives study guides that r basically the exams! Great prof and I learn a lot!
LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!!!! super sweet and funny woman who actually cares about her students!!!!!!! lots of tests but they're super easy if you pay attention in class.
10/10 would take this class again. Her lectures actually make me WANT to go to class, even if it isn't mandatory. Her lectures are super clear and the quizzes are online and based on the lectures and readings. Definitely use the study guide she gives out before exams because they help a lot. She makes it easy to understand and interesting to learn.
Love her, she is great, and you know what to expect. That being said, if you don't put in the work, you will not pass this class. If you don't try to get better at learning you will not do very well. However, if this comes naturally to you, then it's a different story. Ask questions, study, and show up to lecture.
This class can be a lot of work if you fall behind, you need to keep up with lectures and know the material if you want to score well on the test but she provides a page of notes you can use on your exams as well as provides multiple office hours. If you need a math credit this is a good class to take :) There isn't much homework too.
Easy money
Classes aren't mandatory but the lectures are actually useful for the take-home quizzes you have to do. The study guide questions she gives you are the test questions so make sure you do those if you want to pass the test. Overall, she was an entertaining teacher and the topics were actually kind of interesting.
super easy A, super nice lady. Only a few hw assignments but relatively frequent tests. She allows cheat sheets for all the exams and they're all pretty easy.
Dr. Neuner is great! She knows how to teach difficult materials and let us use a sheet a paper for the exam since we have to memorize many laws. I did not try hard in this class and I got an A.
Dr. Neuner is an AMAZING choice for PHIL120. You have a total of 5 assigned homeworks that are just like the classwork and take less than a half hour, as well as several open note exams that make up your entire grade. She also drops your worst homework and test grade, so it is super easy to succeed in this class!
Prof. was a little all over the place during the lectures, but they are easy to understand. There is a ton of reading work, and if you don't do you won't get a high grade. The test study guides are pretty much the test, but some answers are hidden in the reading. There is always an essay question on the test and there is a final review guide/day.
If you're good at math then this class has nothing to do with that. She has a workbook that she created and if you want a good grade in the class DO IT. It's not necessarily hard but you need the practice. Hybrid class with online homework. Study for tests. She is very caring and wants the best from you. She's also hilarious with her one liners.
She is a wonderful professor! I never thought I would find philosophy interesting until I took her class. I will say that it's important to attend class because of the notes which are crucial for exams. Class is based off exams and quizzes and final exam is optional. However you will not struggle if you have your notes from class!
This is essentially a math class but with logic puzzles rather than numbers. As a GE, I loved this class, as I'm a nerd who finds puzzles like this really fun, and the concepts weren't that difficult to grasp. It's intimidating on the first day but she lectures very well and I learned everything w/o much studying. But it can be confusing.
Really nice professor! I love how she takes her time in solving problems and explains why it works a certain way. Logic can be confusing, but I guarantee she will help you understand.
I literally love her! She's so sweet and does a wonderful job at explaining things. Her powerpoints are very helpful and it's so precious how proud she is of the animations she makes for them. She definitely made my first semester of online so much better by providing online resources and being very understanding during this time.
Philosophy is an abstract subject that requires you to think; Dr. Neuner makes this subject easy to understand and fun to learn. She puts a ton of time into powerpoints with hand-made animations and relatable stories and uses everyday scenarios to relate to the topics. Her grading policy is fair as well and she allows open notes on exams. Take her!
Dr. Neuner is amazing! I was scared to take a philosophy class, but it ended up being my favorite class! Her class is very structured & organized. Her lectures are so fun & interesting! She gave real-life examples & used hand-made animations. She is super nice & great at explaining! Very fair grader. MC open-note quizzes & tests. Take her!
She's so sweet and works with you to help you understand. Her powerpoints and pre-recorded lectures are helpful. TA's are great in-office hours. Took the class virtually due to COVID-19 and it was not easy, but she worked with all of us to help us as much as she could. Even though my grade was low I would take her again as she tried to help you.
She records all her lectures so you can watch them whenever. The class itself and the information isn't difficult but the tests are super hard for some reason. Take good notes and pay attention to the lectures and actually do the readings or else you'll be lost. Overall a pretty interesting class just put in the work or your grade will be low.
Dr. Neuner was amazing and she cared so much about teaching! It is always great to have a professor who cares about their students and the class that they teach. Would definitely recommend if you need to fulfill a GE.
The class and the information wasn't difficult but the tests are super hard and are a majority of your grade. The lectures were really interesting and she records them if you can't make it to class. It was honestly a pretty difficult class but the final saved my grade.
I put so much hard work into this class and still ended up with a B. It took a lot of time and practice to understand the material and I probably wouldn't recommend it. If you're willing to put in the work, you'll come out with a good grade. I took this for math credit and thought it would be good for me since im not very good at math, I was wrong
Honestly was not impressed. The class was average, professor Neuner was nice, but the class was taught in a way that I felt was doing the content injustice. It was boring and I wanted to hear more about my professors opinions. Overall there were a few assignments each week and it was a manageable class.
She is a great teacher and she was super accommodating during the online transition with the pandemic. She really does care about the students. She is totally there for you outside of class if you need help. She is a fantastic professor, but the lectures are boring. If you bomb a test, at the end, you can write an essay to replace a bad test score.
This is the best "math" class I have ever taken in my life. Neuner is an amazing teacher and if you pay attention and read the assigned chapter, the concepts are easy to grasp. The homework assignments were worth little to nothing which I appreciated during covid. Highly recommend this class.
I took Neuner my first semester at SDSU and loved her. She gave me a passion for philosophy I never thought I would have. I was stuck between a B+ and A- the whole semester, and she helped me prepare for the final in a way that guaranteed I'd bump to the A-. Amazing lectures, weekly readings w/ quizzes, and discussions. Manageable and enjoyable.
She makes a lot of effort to make sure her students understand the subject. She knows phill is not easy, thus she does her best to make it as simple as possible. Lectures are heavy but never boring! There are a punch hw but it's for your own good. She is one of the few professors that love & do their job to their fullest!
Super awesome professor. Very knowledgeable on the subject and provides lot of opportunities for you to get extra help. Attendance in lectures isn't mandatory but going gives you lots of practice and helps with tests. Really easy to conceptualize and not hard material.
I LOVE Prof Penafuerte-Neuner! She is incredibly sweet and helpful. She always offers help outside of classes, and it's really noticeable how much she wants everyone to succeed and pass. I would 100% recommend this professor!!! Her lectures are easy enough to follow, and exams aren't bad if you understand the material. Easy A!
I loved Dr. Neuner. She was so caring and you could tell she wants her students to succeed. Put in the effort, learn the material and you will succeed. Even if you fail a couple quizzes or exams you can still get an A. She lets you make up a lot of work, you just have to be willing to work with her.
Professor Neuner was a great philosophy professor. Her lectures are hilarious and engaging. She is always sure to make you laugh.
Professor Neuner is a good professor she goes by the lectures pretty quick but gets to the point. She does a lot to help improve your grade such as dropping 1 low score quiz and 5 lowest score exercises. Attending class isnt required but i encourage you to go since lectures are very informational. Overall pretty easy if you actually attend class
took this to cover my math requirement and it was really fast paced for me and i was really lost most of the time. the material is kind of like a puzzle piece but all of it seemed so pointless so i had no interest in actually learning it.
You won't have to buy a textbook but there is weekly readings which she provides. Reading quizzes are take home open note. For the midterm and final she allows one sided notes and provides a study guide. She drops your lowest quiz score. Lectures are usually interesting and she takes attendance only twice the whole semester.
if ur planning on taking her for ge's plz do so she is a nice lady and is an easy class! 2 exams and one final (option of either taking a test or essay) the 2 exams she provides study guides and u can bring a piece of paper to those and the questions on the guides are word for word whats on the tests. she doesn't mind tardiness or no attendance!!!
Such a great professor for Phil 101! It is lecture heavy though and if you dont show up to class, youre not going to do well. Lots of reading and weekly quizzes or discussion boards.
The professor is nice but the content/topic being taught is extremely confusing. Recommend showing up to lectures bc the professor is passionate about what she teaches & wants you to learn the material. Weekly homework assignments, super easy with endless retakes, online quizzes & in person exams which she will often curve.
If you pay attention then its an easy class.
Pretty boring class and it's not a requirement to go unless there is an exam. There were 4 exams and they were all in person, but you get to use a page of notes front and back for every single one. She posts all of the lectures on Canvas, so I just took notes in my dorm. If you're not a fan of math or aren't good at it definitely take this GE.
Dr. Neuner is amazing. Attendance is not required, but you will get behind if you don't watch the lectures. She presents material through lectures in class and has homework assignments online twice a week. 4 Quizzes are online. 3 exams and 1 final in person. Very reasonable. She truly cares for her students and she wants you to succeed. TAKE HER!
Watch the lectures, especially if you're a visual learner. Prof. Neuner isn't always the best at explaining but she makes up for it by showing how to do things step by step. Grades made up of 4 main quizzes, weekly homework problems & quizzes, and final exam. Don't fall behind cause things build up on each other. But overall, a really easy class.
This class was extremely hard towards the end of the year. Professor neuner is nice but moves extremely fast and doesnt explain things well at all. Most of the work she went over in class she just solved the problems without explaining why or how she came to that conclusion making it extremely hard to actually learn the concepts.
This class was extremely confusing and it was like solving a difficult puzzle. Professor does a good job of providing plenty examples in her lectures but she goes pretty fast so if you don't understand the basics of the topic, it's hard to follow along. She is very nice just be aware that this class is very difficult and test-heavy.
If you're taking PHIL120, just get ready to understand some difficult-to-grasp concepts. The class is passable, the professor has lectures at the ready but always be prepared for the quiz or test.
Great Professor! She is very kind and considerate with her students. I truly do not regret taking this class, it was a great learning process. There are three test that we take throughout the semester and the final exam which she replaces it at the end of the semester with the lowest score of one of the three exams we took. :)
This class was really interesting! If you want to get an A you definitely need to watch the lectures and actually put in effort, but it's really not that much work. She can be kind of a hard grader at times but just make sure to be thorough in your assignments. The online course is 4 quizzes, a midterm and a final, and 7 activities.
The professor is very passionate about what she teaches, however, she is not the best at explaining these already-confusing concepts. Even with viewing the lectures and reading the textbook (which she wrote), attendance of office hours, homework completion, and lots of practice I still struggled through this class
I took this class over the summer asynchronously. The class itself requires effort because the material is not straightforward. The professor does a good job explaining the material, but it requires the student to keep up with the content as each concept builds on top of one another.
She is pretty passionate, she teaches you out of a textbook she wrote. She is knowledgeable in her field. If you take it online, just try to stay on top of the work by watching the lectures, doing the readings, taking notes, and doing the weekly quizzes because they are similar to the midterms and final exams, you will do fine!
Professor Neuner is passionate but can be tough to follow. The class is challenging, but staying on top of readings, lectures, and using tools like unstuckstudy ai for practice helped me grasp the concepts.
Not a fan of how difficult this class is for an online, GE, 101 class. The readings sound like old english and maybe i'm just not a fan of philosophy but the concepts are hard to grasp. the questions on exams, quizzes, and reading activities are so specific that it takes such a long time going back to the material to find the answer.
I am an actual philosophy major and I had no clue what was going on most of these classes. It was solving riddles and is a MATH CLASS. I didn't know that going in, so don't expect philosophy, expect breaking down rhymes with non sensical math. She is a very nice lady but not responsive through email. Good luck if you choose to take this class.
This class is hard but she provides online lectures on top of what she explains in class and is good at explaining everything. Also notes are allowed for tests.
Very friendly person and extremely helpful if you ask her. Class itself requires lots of learning to pass.
Fair grader. Gives extra credit in the form of an optional essay which can replace an exam grade. Lowest 2 assignments dropped. Lectures are kinda interesting. Make sure you watch the lectures before taking the quizzes.
Great professor, extremely nice. The material can sometimes get confusing and is somewhat challenging, but attending lectures and taking notes should be more than enough.
Class was ridiculously difficult for a 100 level course. Quizzes and homework questions were confusing and difficult to understand and answer. Exams included multiple choice as well as short essay questions which were graded very harshly. Lots of videos to watch and lots of reading. I would not recommend this professor if your looking for a easy A.
Class is so fun It's all logic puzzles and feels like ur solving riddles. She replaces quizzes with test grades if you improve and most are curved. Really is up to you how well you do bc ur only graded on exams so you have to actually make yourself learn. Lectures are quick and she posts lots of practice questions that you can see the answers on.
Dr. Neuner is the best. So caring/understanding. She gives lots of opportunities to fix/make up your grade. She provides the textbook for free. She does not check/grade attendance (but attending will help you do well). She's really funny too. Everyone loves her and she makes the rather complex subject of deductive logic digestible/simple.
She's a sharp professor, lectures are not mandatory, but are essential, along with readings, as you need to keep up with both as the exam and quiz topics come from both. They're not super hard as long as you keep up with them, but are tricky. Exams are curved. This class is a must take if you want to take the LSAT for law school.
pretty easy online course. just used textbook and prerecorded lectures. mostly multiple choice assignments and tests. Offered help over zoom if needed.
Class itself was a bit boring but she did try her best to just keep it concise. She tried her best to make it easier on us by having worksheets for us to fill out as she went along instead of having us take our own notes which was great. Got a bad grade bc I lowkey just didn't pay attention but if you do you'll be fine.
