I liked him. He was funny and organized. Very helpful, answers all questions about pre-cal. He reviews you the class before the test. Sometimes he even tells you the exact questions or format that'll be on the test. I made B's on every test but that's because I didn't study at all. He lets you turn in all your homework the day of the test too.

Calc 1 class. I like the way he explains everything in regular people terms before writing down any formulas and theorems. Always answers questions with patience when asked. Personable and genuinely wants to help you especially if you put in effort.

Exceptional professor! Very involved and shows concern for his students' learning. If you don't understand he'll go back and walk you through each step. Only problem I had is that sometimes the reviews had questions that were easier than the actual test. Mymathlab is used for homework and quizzes. A lot of extra credit too! TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.

He will go step by step for you, and he takes days off every now and then. only if it's a moWeFr class. :) great guy.

Mr. Bercu is an exceptional instructor. He will explain you to the detail. However, students require to memorize different formulas. He will give you the easiest ways to memorize those formulas, then is all up to you. Take him, you wont regret it.

Took precal in high school. Precal in college is way harder FYI. I was worried but Aran gave simple ways to look at equations and find patterns in what we did. If you attend regularly, class is straight forward, and he's very helpful. He doesn't shy away from the more difficult problems but still tries to explain them simply. Answers email QUICKLY!

best prof ever made math so easy and understandable. class in mandatory but he makes time go by fast. prepares you for the tests so well and the final. if you take good notes and study you will get an a no problem

i took calc2 at my university and did not pass. the teacher did not care at all whether students got it. aran really did an awesome job of explaining ideas so that anyone could understand if they tried. i got a B in the course. i even finally understood power series and taylor series and what the point of them is. thanks!!

I was really worried about Cal2. He made it so easy to understand. But hes not just a pushover that gives out grades like candy. Take him and you'll see. Oh! He answered my hw questions over email every time within like half hour.

Is a really nice teacher, is fair and helpful, answers all questions if you have them, will work with you to help you understand the material, DO THE FRAKIN HOMEWORK OR YOU WILL FAIL BY NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ON THE TESTS! Prof Bercu took extra time outside class to meet with me and helped me understand when the topics got confusing. He also tutored some of my friends in other classes who didn't even have him. He wants you to do well and works hard to help. Like they all say do the homework and then youll do pretty well. I expect an A! :)

Wonderful professor, able to clearly explain problems when you are completely lost. Do your homework and focus on the tough / tricky questions though!!! His test's will really test your understanding of the materials taught, and can be grueling at times! I learned alot from him, but unfortunately I will have to retake his class!

Sharp guy! Aran preps you for his exams better than any other professor. Math 2412 will fly by with him. Personable, professional, organized, and dry sense of humor. Test reviews are similar to actual exams. Technique is key to success, but he'll teach it to ya. TAKE HIM AND LEARN PRECAL ;)

Best professor I've ever had. Makes things simple and easy. Prepares you for the test very well. He teaches the material, assigns homework to test your understanding, and then goes over any questions you have. Gives reviews and and then goes over the review the class before the test. I made a 98 in the class.

I took his class online. I had to move out of state during the semester. Aran helped me find a testing center where I could take my final exam. Nice and understanding and caring. THANK YOU!

Mr. Bercu is an Awesome teacher! He is extremely clear and helpful with his teaching. He tries to make trig simple and very understandable. Attendance isn't super mandatory but I would attend because he does cover a lot daily. Highly recommended.

He will challenge you but also be understanding when you don't get something. Good for lots of different ability levels. Email him and ask him questions outside of class. He will help you!

Excellent professor, He is a genius, he will teach in a simplest way possible even though it was a calculus class. He finishes every problem without skipping any step doesn't matter if it involves factorization. He knows his stuff very very well. Wow, where to begin! He does whatever he can to see his student’s succeeded and to make sure that his students grasp the concept. He will stay after class or even come in early to campus to help tutor you. The only negative cogitations I could have for him is that on Exams 2&3 calculators are not allowed. Really great guy who explains advanced calculus concepts so that anyone can comprehend the big picture. Challenging but straightforward on exams. If you get the big ideas, and do the hw and reviews, exams should not be a problem. I studied and got a high A.

Best prof ever! no MML, everything is from the book. Spends a lot of class time on homework questions so make sure you keep up with that. exams are similar to review. also exams are challenging but straight forward. gives a bonus problem. explains all concepts in everyday language. I feel ready for cal 3 and beyond now.

This teacher is one of the easiest and nicest teachers I had. I had my baby 3 weeks early and missed a whole month of school. He had worked with me and helped me catch up. I'm pretty sure if I had went to class I would have made an easy A. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!

Professor Bercu is wonderful teacher. His math class is not my math lab based, so that's refreshing. He cares a lot about his students and genuinely wants you to learn the material. His tests can be difficult, but it is calculus after all. You will get an A if you aren't lazy and have decent intelligence.

He's amazing. He seriously makes everything so easy to understand. No MML, only textbook. HW due on test day, and review is exactly like the test and he goes over it in class. I'm totally gonna take him for all of my Cal classes. If you don't absolutely love him, then you're insane. Best professor ever. Period.

Professor Bercu is a great teacher! I took him for Precal & he explained all of the concepts very well. His tests are not difficult as long as you study the review and do the homework. I wish he would teach Cal 1, cause I would most definitely take him. This math class was the most laid back math class I have ever taken. Definitely take him!

PrecalCalculus isn't easy for most people, so you can't just take these reviews and think you'll breeze through it. He's incredible. And his intelligence is so hott. I had a crush on him all semester. Best professor I've ever had.

Good teacher. Learned a lot in his class. The class was online so did not get enough chance to communicate with him. He is very strict when it comes to rules but he will make some exceptions. You have to study if want to pass!!!

He's easy but still very inspiring. I love the way he explains, slowly and carefully. 3 exams, 1 final and simple quizzes, no mymathlab at all (what a bless). Made all perfect scores in his class. He made study no stressful at all.

I would take Aran for every single math class. I was SO bad in math. Now I make A's and B's on the tests. His test average for the whole class is always a high B. You should have no problem acing this class if you come in and pay attention. His tests are short and he reviews you the day before the test and makes it as straightforward as possible

He is extremely laid back which is awesome. no my math lab. just textbook for homework use. he has a sense of humor and is really nice guy. homework isn't due until day of test and the test are really easy. He goes over homework if you have questions over it. would highly recommend him. Also he doesn't really care about attendance either..

MUST TAKE! It was my 2nd time taking college algebra as I didn't do good the first time. I understood EVERYTHING this time as he explains it so well and makes it easy to understand!

Great Prof. He tells you everything you need to know for the test and makes sure you get the info. For Calc, you need to do the homework no matter what prof because that's just the way calc is. He does talk kind of fast though, it is a little hard to keep up sometimes.

Don't take for online. Didn't let anyone have index cards when other profs did. Calc II in person class got warned about things that might be on test, online didn't. Kind in person but won't help you much.

Tricky class online. Doesn't give reviews for all of the tests, and when he does give reviews he does not give answers for them. All Homework is from the book, but he does work through each problem for you, which was nice. Tests are long and hard, need to know all Trig Identities, derivatives, and integrals before starting this class to do well

Took it online. Was not terrible. Not much HW. However, to review for exams, he suggests to study the HW. But the exam problems were always harder than what was given in the HW. I would spend hours studying every HW problem, but still make a poor grade because the questions were harder than HW. Still better than most profs. I suggest you take him.

I've dropped this class 2X bc of bad professors(& I suck at math). He doesn't have many quizzes (I only recall 2). All you really have to do is show up, pay attention, HW is due on test days (no my math lab, just have access to the book). He sets ups a review day before exam & he'll go over exactly what will be on test & goes over HW in class.

Calculus is a hard subject, but the way he teaches it makes it easier to learn. There are 3 exams, final, and some quizzes (he drops the lowest 2). Homework is due the day of each exam. He spends class time going over HW problems if anyone has questions. Lectures aren't boring, and we usually leave 15 min early. TAKE HIM! You will not regret it!!

I really liked the way class is setup. We start with HW questions at the beginning of each class. We go through new stuff. And then we either take a quiz toward the end or have open lab time to ask questions for the last 15 minutes. I also felt like he actually cared when I asked questions. Take!

basically goes over any homework problem with you at the beginning or end of class, so as long as you show up that part is easy. tests are straight forward as long as you went to class and did the homework. was nervous about calc2 but this class ended up being not as bad as i thought it would. you do need to study and have stuff memorized though.

I was very nervous about this class after getting my first B in Calculus 1. Professor Bercu is a genius and he really knows how to explain Math. I love how he always simplifies a problem in easy language to really make us understand. I was very nervous about this class and considered dropping after I failed my first test. Worked hard and got an A!!

Fantastic professor. The homework he provides is a perfect review for the tests so there is very little studying beyond memorizing formulas. The homework isn't too much either, it's just enough to help you get the concepts down. He also tells you exactly whats going to be on each test before you take it and it's super helpful.

Best math teacher out there. He does not let you use a calculator but if you pay attention in class and do the homework, you will get the grade you want. He also goes straight to the point in his lectures and always gives time for questions and reviewing. I have never seen a professor so organized in his teaching ever.

Took trig and pre-cal and got A in both classes. His classes were very easy. He made it very easy compare to other professor. This is the class that you want. If you dont get A then its your fault.

He sets up an environment where it is okay to ask questions. He will also go over hw questions from the night before during the morning of class to make sure students understands the concepts. He wants you to succeed. Great, organized and helpful teacher.

He's a very chill professor but has a very hard time to explain some concepts. Overall he's OK.

This professor can explain things in about 50 different ways. Brilliant. Clear. If you don't understand, he can always find a new way to describe it.

Professor Aran is truly remarkable, as his way of teaching differentiates from all the math teachers I have ever had. He is straightforward, lenient, and truly works hard to make the students achieve their highest grade. You must work for your grade and do your part. Loved it.

He's an incredible educator who always makes sure you understand the material. He has a very unique teaching style which is extremely helpful because it really simplifies things.

Professor Bercu is a fair and understanding teacher. He gives A LOT of credit for problems if you show your work and seem to be on the right path. He assigns very little homework, and spends a decent amt of time going over questions from the hw in class. I would definitely recommend him, and would take him for other math courses.

Professor Bercu is good at explaining math, he keeps a decent pace when talking as well. My only problem with his class was the exams, they were too short. The exams were anywhere from 7-11 questions. If you missed just one part you might not get the A.

If you wanna learn calculus, he is the guy you go to. He made the concepts easier to understand. He posts homework online, no mathlab. Do the homework, take notes in class and work towards it and you will be fine.

The Prof goes out of his way to catch the class up with their math deficiencies. He creates his own homework sets, and they are generally as hard or harder than the test. You MUST do the HW to do well unless you are a pro. if you do your homework you should trust yourself because you will be prepared. You MUST go to class or risk falling behind.

Great professor. His lectures are videos on YouTube - HoustonMathPrep. He did his best to make sure everyone knew the material, with weekly discussion boards and live Q&A's before the tests. There was a recommended textbook but I did not buy it and was able to make an A off his videos and studying alone.

Honestly, I have loved taking Mr. Aran's class thus far. He makes everything fairly easy to understand and really welcomes questions. He is very nice. He makes his lectures enjoyable, and is very funny! Would totally recommend him to anyone!

The Professor had great videos, however it should be noted that homework is harder than examples shown in videos, and then the exams are harder than that of the homework. Not your worst professor, but not your best for this reason. He seems like a lenient grader. Grade consists of homework, discussion, 3 exams and 1 final that replaces lowest exam.

I'm not the greatest in math but this professor is really helpful during and after class. He really cares and take the time to help students understand what he is teaching . Lots of homework but answers any questions you have and will work questions. Highly recommend taking his class.

He is a great instructor, is hard teaching math but he makes it so clear, step by step, but do not get distract because you can loose the path. I took it for may-mini (only 3 weeks) and it was fast but smooth. there is some hw and I will recommend you to no take and additional extra class. he is kinda cute as well :3

His videos were very helpful in covering the material and pretty much covered what would be in the homework. The exams were fair, and if you did the homework rather easy then you should be fine. There were no major curve balls on the exams. Grade was composed of weekly discussion posts, homework, 3 exams and a final that replaces lowest exam grade.

I took Professor Bercu over the summer for Calculus 2. First off, I gotta say, he's the best professor I've ever had pertaining to math. Summer calculus 2 with Professor Bercu involved discussions, tests, and quite a bit of homework. He grades leniently, and the homework is what will allow you to succeed on exams. Be ready for lots of homework.

Professor Bercu is an awesome professor, I suck at math in general but he teaches it so well and clearly that I understand it and passed passed Algebra 1314 with an A. He of course expects you to put in your share of the work by showing up to class, do your homework, study the homework since thats where the exam comes from and ask questions.

I took his online class and withdrew after one month. You're expected to make two discussion posts in D2L every week on videos that have nothing to do with Calculus. One post Mon-Wed and the other post Thur-Sun. Homework is paper/pencil that you have to scan in. You aren't allowed to use formula sheets or ANY calculators on the paper/pencil exams.

Professor Bercu is excellent. He is very chill and fun. His teaching style is very easy to follow. His class will not use textbooks bc he will provide you everything. He will help you if you have questions, so don't be afraid to ask. 6 HW, 3 Tests, 1 Final, Projects, In-class assignments. I promised He is the best math teacher at LONESTAR.

Professor Aran is a great teacher. I toke him online for Diff equation. His lectures are great and helpful in youtube. His exams are little hard, but if you do hw you will do well. He will help you as much as he can, and replies emails fast . 3 exams and final. Lowest grade replaces with final if you do good. I would definitely take him again.

He said at the beginning he cares for you to learn and he does a great job with it, he helps you out with any question you have regarding the problems (hw or class) and he explains it simple and clam, on the test he makes you work a bit for them but its not something you are not able to do, overall great prof. shame the online transition happens

Hes honestly very helpful. His material is easy to learn. Took him online and all his lectures and material are on YouTube and honestly taught cal 2 very easily. You have to turn in hw by the test day and thats basically it for the class except the discussion board. I wish he taught cal3.

MATH 1324 Online, his assignments were clear and helpful. If you follow the material the way it is laid out you will pass. He does not give unnecessary work! Extra credit opportunities available.

Best online mini class taken ever. It is straighfoward and not complex at all. I highly recommend him! He also provides solutions to the homework and the videos are clear and understandable.

Professor Bercu is an amazing professor. He made Calculus II easy for me in the way he presented information. His grading criteria was very clear and followed the syllabus perfectly. I cant say a single bad thing about him.

My favorite professor so far. He made online learning so easy! Everything is super organized and he lets you know your due dates so you don't miss anything. Teaching is given through youtube videos which I found very straightforward and easy to follow, keep in find math is my best subject. Weekly discussion post which is easy. Only about 4 tests.

I learned from the class even if it was online. I liked that he answered fast and was always there to help you. He is a great professor and I totally recommend having him as a professor.

Excellent communication. Emailed him for help on a Friday afternoon and got a reply within 24 hrs. Coursework is extremely easy if you have a strong calc background. Took it online due to COVID, would've loved to attend his class in person instead. Tests are easy if you follow the coursework + do the homeworks, no additional study required.

I had Professor Bercu for PreCal and Cal 2. For Precal I had him in person, and he was great. His lecture was easy to understand. For Cal 2, I had him online and he is still great with his own Youtube lecture videos on his channel. I would prefer in person because it is more interactive, but his videos are very true to real life.

Professor Aran Bercu is very organized. His videos are short and straight to the content. He and his wife make the content easy to understand. Grades fairly. Read Exams FAQ carefully. About 4 people in the classroom including myself got 0 in one of the exams because we went past the 3 hours to turn in the work. EVERYTHING is clear in his document.

A very good professor! Lectures are clear and can learn the topic with only listening it once. Homework is not hard at all! Do the homework you'll definitely pass the exams.

The class was overall pretty easy, there were weekly homework assignments, three tests, and three projects. Professor Bercu did a great job organizing the class.

I took him during COVID online and had an amazing experience! His syllabus is clear with what he expects of his students, he responds promptly to emails about concerns, and sets the standard very high for mathematics professors. For students who cannot afford textbooks, his class is only video notes and tests that actually corresponds with the hw.

I took math 1324 during COVID, so the class was converted into an online class. Professor Bercu made this class extremely affordable by not requiring the textbook/or mymathlab, instead all the lectures were taught via short and concise youtube videos (houstonmathprep). HW's correlate to exams, only 3 exams, & 3 excel projects. Highly recommend!
